Oyster Hotel Review

Massive, modern all-inclusive resort with activities for families and quiet areas for couples.

This massive complex is big all around -- an impression that starts right upon arrival. It's a bit loud and busy in spots, though this sort of city-unto-itself vibe is exactly what so many travelers come seeking at Voyage properties. In fact, few leave the property at all during a stay here. Upon stepping inside, multiple seating options give guests places to hang out and look out of the floor-to-ceiling windows onto the immaculately maintained grounds, with giant sculptures dotted about. Guests are housed in several different complexes of rooms as well as in villas. Because the resort so spread out, it rarely feels crowded, except sometimes at the main pool and restaurant. There are multiple places outside where guests can relax or be entertained. The resort caters to both families and couples, and there are several sections dedicated to adults only, including pools and dining venues. The family areas are lively and packed with activities for young and old. Keep in mind that some parts of the resort are liable to be noisy -- music is almost constantly going, helping to maintain the upbeat atmosphere. 

Lovely beachfront location, next to a golf course -- 30 minutes from Antalya's airport by car

This resort is situated in a woody area on the beach in Belek, about an hour's drive south of Antalya. It's surrounded by other hotels and restaurants, and the Montgomerie Maxx Royal golf course is next door. Belek's city center can be reached in five minutes by car, but it's a touristy area with not much to offer. There's so much going on at the resort, most guests never really leave. Plan on about 35 minutes to reach Antalya Airport by car. 

Fresh, modern rooms and villas, all with balconies or terraces, some with gorgeous sea views

This huge complex offers a variety of rooms and villas for couples and families. They're all contemporary and fresh, with crisp color schemes, laminate floors, white walls accented by oversized floral or geometric artwork, and white furniture. Even so, some of the lower-category units are looking a little tired, like the Standard Room that we visited, where the massive art and extensive white details feel a little off-trend. Standard features include air-conditioning, flat-screen TVs, electric kettles, safes, extensive minibars, and free Wi-Fi. Bathrooms are modern and attractive, and include hairdryers, toiletries, and robes and slippers. Standard Rooms have shower/tub combos, while Villas have separate showers and tubs, some jetted. All rooms have furnished balconies or terraces, and some feature outstanding sea views. Certain Family Rooms will open up to the hotel's playground, while other units have direct access to the Laguna Pool. Additionally, higher-category rooms include extra perks like cold towel service, in-room breakfasts, daily restocked minibars (including alcohol), and upgraded Bulgari toiletries -- these include units like the King Suites and Laguna Duplex Villas. Fresh fruit and cookies also come with these bookings.

International dining, private beach, indoor and outdoor pools, water park, and land and water sports

This huge all-inclusive resort pretty much has it all. There are plenty of options for dining, both indoors and out, casual or fancy, and with or without the kids. In addition to two main buffet restaurants (one for adults only), there are eight a la carte restaurants serving Chinese, Mexican, Greek, Turkish, Italian, and Japanese fare, plus a steak house and one with a focus on fish. In addition, there are three snack bars, a patisserie, a children’s restaurant, 14 bars, and a grocery store. Twenty-four hour dining venues come in handy for late-night cravings, and all but three of the specialty restaurants are included in rates. Additionally, the hotel's all-inclusive package covers domestic and even some international brands, including Jim Beam, Glenfiddich, Absolut, and Beefeater -- among others. Premium drinks like Champagne will cost extra. Keep in mind that pork isn't available, which only seems to bother bacon lovers at breakfast time.

Among the resort's highlights is direct access to a wide, sandy, private beach, which offers multiple seating options for guests who want to relax on the sand, the wooden deck, or grassy lawn. Lounge chairs, some with deep cushions, are shaded by palapas or umbrellas, and some are in cabanas. Certain areas are for adults only, and others cater to the little ones. Water sports include Jet Skis, windsurfing, canoeing, and parasailing, and there are two volleyball courts on the beach. Keep in mind that many of the hotel's water sports come with extra fees not built into the all-inclusive package. Swimming pools include a gigantic main pool, a heated garden pool, an adults-only pool, an indoor pool, an indoor children’s pool, and the Laguna Pool for guests in the Laguna Duplex Villas. The lively aqua park has separate areas for children and adults. 

In addition to a full menu of treatments, the spa offers a steam room, Turkish bath, sauna, adventure shower, and a snow fountain. A spacious fitness center offers cardio and weight training equipment plus free weights in a bright setting with floor-to-ceiling windows looking out into the garden. The game room includes bowling, billiards, foosball, and other games, plus some for the younger set. Other activities include aerobics, step aerobics, yoga, bocce, badminton, darts, street ball, air rifle shooting, archery, mini-golf, and tennis. A kids' club serves children from ages 4 to 12, and there's also a service for babies. Entertainment includes DJs, singers, dancers, and other shows. Some activities do cost extra -- like computer games, billiards, and tennis.

Shops sell items such as jewelry, accessories, clothing, groceries, and gifts. Meeting space accommodates business and leisure gatherings of various sizes. Wi-Fi is free throughout the property.

Wenn man vor der Checkin Zeit ankommt, darf man dann schon die gesamte Anlage benutzen? Ebenso wenn man erst einen späten Rücktransport hat?

Wenn man früh im Hotel ist, kann man direkt die Anlage nutzen. Es kann sein das man das Zimmer erst um 14.00 Uhr bekommt. Bei der Abreise muss man um 12.00 Uhr aus dem Zimmer, darf aber auch bis zur Abholung die gesamte Anlage weiterhin nutzen. Fertig machen kann man sich in der Relaxzone. Dort sind Duschkabinen, Schlafbereiche, kleine Snaks, Kaffee, uvm.

Wir fahren Ende Mai zum Ersten Mal ins Voyage. Ist dort schon Hauptsaison ? Kann bereits im unbeheizten Pool und im Meer gebadet werden ?

The world's largest travel guidance platform unveiled its list of winners on Tuesday, and included the Ritz-Carlton Dubai and Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers in its top 20 ranking based on Tripadvisor reviews.

Ritz-Carlton Dubai is one of the emirate's stalwart properties, having opened in the area that has since become The Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residence in 1998. That was years before Dubai Marina , The Palm Jumeirah and Bluewaters came into existence and the resort was one of the hotel group's first addresses in the Middle East and North Africa.

From 7,359 reviews, Tripadvisor travellers are most impressed with the luxury hotel's swimming pools and child-friendly facilities, ranking the hotel as the 17th best in the world.

In the UAE capital, Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers opened in 2001 after taking over the existing site from Jumeirah Hotels and Resorts. The property ranks at number 20 for 2024. The skyscraper was a favourite with 7,674 Tripadvisor reviewers who appreciated its infinity pool and swim-up bar.

The National previously reviewed the Hilton-owned hotel and was impressed by its wow-factor views and impeccable service.

When it comes to the overall best hotel in the world for 2024, the honour goes to Hotel Colline de France, a boutique hotel in Gramado, a mountain resort town in Brazil. The property is known for its personalised service and French elegance, and has ranked in Tripadvisor's top five for three consecutive years.

In second place is Oblu Select Lobigili , an adults-only escape in the Maldives, while La Siesta Hoi Ann Resort and Spa in Vietnam ranks third.

“Our Best of the Best Hotels are marvels, acclaimed by thousands of travellers for their remarkable service, stunning design and wealth of amenities that redefine what it means to have an exceptional hotel experience,” said Dan Mitchell, vice president and general manager for hotels at Tripadvisor.

Other notable entries in the top 20 list include Chandys Windy Woods in Chithirapuram, India and two properties in Turkey, the Romance Istanbul Hotel and the Voyage Belek Golf And Spa in Belek.

“According to our Tripadvisor reviewers – each of the world's best hotels caters to the traveller looking for accessible luxury and unique, tailored experiences,” added Mitchell.

In the US, the number one hotel to check into is the Shore Hotel in Santa Monica, California. Luma Hotel Times Square, a four-star skyscraper in New York City ranks second on the US hit list. Hotel Emma in San Antonio, Texas is the fifth best in the US, but takes the number one spot for luxury hotels across the continent.

New for 2024, Tripadvisor has announced three new award categories including the best pet-friendly, sustainable and wellness hotels. Topping the list for holidays with four-legged friends is Hotel Fioreze Quero Quero. This Brazilian property has over two acres of open space, making it perfect for pups and their owners to explore.

Voco Dubai The Palm just missed out on inclusion in the world's top 20 pet-friendly hotels, with the Palm West Beach hotel listed at number 21.

Sustainable kudos goes to Banyan Tree hotel group after the Buahan, a Banyan Tree Escape in Bali, took the award as the world's most sustainable hotel. Guests visiting here are impressed by the sustainably grown food and the jungle resort's natural surroundings.

And the Maldives takes the crown for having the world's best wellness hotel. The Emerald Maldives Resort & Spa is a tropical sanctuary on the Raa Atoll that's a favourite with Tripadvisor reviewers thanks to its sprawling wellness centre. It also ranked as the number one all-inclusive hotel in the world in the platform's 2024 Travellers' Choice Awards.

Just back from this hotel,it’s difficult to knock it , the staff are amazing as is the hotel and grounds.Don’t stay in B block it’s on the outskirts of the hotel and very noisy. All the restaurants are great although you can’t get skinny fries. Waterpark and life guards are brilliant.

We have had a week of golf staying at the Voyage Belek Golf and asap. The hotel is lovely but we are very disappointed that we have been unable to arrange a late room checkout despite arriving and leaving late evening even though the hotel is clearly not busy.

Excellent hotel with friendly staff like Sarvenaz. Great location right on the beachfront with fabulous pools and plenty of entertainment during the day. Food options are varied and good quality. Right next door to amazing golf course @ Maxx Royal Montgomerie. Highly recommended for both family trips and time away with friends.

Three Budapest Hotels among Best in Europe

Three hotels in Budapest have made it into the top ten of the best hotels in Europe, according to guest reviews. In Tripadvisor’s 2024 ranking, Hotel Moments Budapest came fifth, Hotel Vision Budapest , also part of the Continental Group portfolio, was seventh, and Hotel Clark Budapest was eighth. The winner was the Voyage Belek Golf & Spa in Belek, Turkey.

With this award, the travel platform recognizes operators that have received a high number of outstanding ratings from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period, Turizmus.com points out in its article, stressing that less than one percent of the eight million places on the list reach this milestone.

Based on this, among the top ten hotels,

• three are in Turkey
• three in Hungary
• one in Portugal
• one in Cyprus
• one in Spain
• one in Greece.

The winner was the Voyage Belek Golf & Spa Hotel in Belek, Turkey, ahead of its “compatriot,” the Romance Istanbul Hotel in Istanbul and the Corpo Santo Lisbon Historical Hotel in Lisbon, Portugal.

It is wonderful news that three Hungarian “houses” also made the list, with Hotel Moments Budapest in fifth place, Hotel Vision Budapest, in seventh, and Hotel Clark Budapest in eighth.

As the travel site points out, Hotel Clark Budapest was ranked fifth among Europe’s top 25 luxury hotels , while Kozmo Hotel Suites & Spa, also in Budapest, was ranked 25th. Furthermore, in the top 25 of the small and boutique hotel category, Maison Bistro & Hotel Budapest was ranked ninth.
