Bandhavgarh Kanha Pench Tour
Our family had a customized tour that included all three national parks for tiger safaris as well as the traditional golden triangle tour. We had 2 different drivers during the tour that picked us up at the airport or drove us to the next location. The drivers were always early, extremely friendly and helpful, and the cars were immaculate. We stayed at six different hotels that were picked out for us. They were all very nice and I would stay at them again. The guides at each location were very knowledgeable and friendly. The company itself stayed in contact with me throughout the trip to make sure I did not need anything. I would highly recommend this company. This tour was much more flexible and convenient than participating in a group tour where everyone has to keep up with a group pace.

Thank you, MTA!

Golden Triangle Tour with Ranthambore
8 Days GOLDEN TRIANGLE EXCURSION WITH RANTHAMBORE WILDLIFE SAFARI
My tour was wonderful. I got to see so much in my short trip. I was lucky enough to see a tigress at Ranthambore. My guide in Delhi was great. My guide in Jaipur was amazing. He really went above and beyond. My driver was the absolute best. He is such a kind person and great at navigating India’s traffic. My only complaint is my guide in Agra. He said he would give me change when I paid for one of the forts we visited and never did. Additionally, he kept telling me to tip him (which I always do) and seemed unhappy with my tip, despite the fact that he kept my money from the fort without my permission. With the exception of the Agra guide, the tour was great and I would do it again.

Excellent Travel Agency and Customized the Trip - Mannu We’ve just completed 8 days trip Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur through that was arranged by Wonderful Holidays. The package was fully customized and there was never any issue with this trip. The accommodation chosen on our behalf was also very fair to what we had paid. This is a very professional agency, with a rare customer service, a very high level of agents. We highly recommend this agency. Our main highlights were City Palace, Amber Fort in Jaipur, Taj Mahal In Agra, Outub Minar and lake side view in Udaipur. The Guides were good. All the trip was good. We fully satisfied with this trip.

We first visited for 3 months in 1997 and it has been a love affair ever since. We want to show you the real India, not just the famous cities which 90% of all tour companies include in their itinerary. This is not a country to be rushed; but slowly savoured like a good curry. Hop on a train, leave the hustle and bustle of the cities behind and experience the real India, by visiting the beautiful rural villages, which are often located next to tiger reserves, like Ranthambhore, Kanha and Bandhavgarh.
We are famous for insisting on longer stays in national parks and wildlife sanctuaries and personally visiting and checking every element of your safaris with our month long recce trips every year. Where else can you combine a Snow Leopard safari in the Himalayas, with Lions in Gujarat, tigers in central Indian and the magnificent Black Panther in the tropical jungles of the south. India is waiting for you and you could not be in better hands.

Tigers, Tigers Everywhere – But Where to Go on Your Indian Tiger Safari?
We are undoubtedly in a golden period for wild tigers in India. We can say that with more than 20 years of experience visiting India’s tiger parks and having seen our first wild tiger in Ranthambhore national park way back in February 1997. Every wildlife photographers Facebook page seems to be adorned with yet more photographs of tigers with their cubs and tiger sanctuaries like Ranthambhore, Tadoba and Bandhavgarh have ‘too many tigers’ to sustain within the core and buffer areas of the main national park – so what does this mean for you, if you are currently planning your tiger safari in India?
4 Most Common Mistakes People Make on an Indian Tiger Safari
Every year we receive numerous emails from clients who have already booked flights and maybe part of an India tiger safari holiday; but did not prioritise booking the jeeps. They then realise when they try to book the game drives online that all of the main zones are sold out and they basically don’t have a viable option to enter the park.
A Mini Yala for Leopards in Southern Rajasthan, India
It was way back in 2004 that I first heard about the wild leopards of Bera, Rajasthan. I had been visiting many of India’s best wildlife sanctuaries since 1997 and I had enjoyed plenty of luck when it came to seeing tigers in the wild, but a sighting of the elusive Asian Leopard had eluded me. This in part can be explained by the obvious fact that leopards are very cautious around tigers, so a sighting inside the best tiger parks, such as Ranthambhore or Bandhavgarh would be very lucky indeed. In addition, leopards are much more nocturnal in their behaviour – when compared to tigers – so the reality is you are leaving the national parks, just when leopards are starting to be more active
Walking in the Footsteps of Jim Corbett
There are probably fewer iconic parks in India than Corbett; named after the legendary English hunter – turned photographer and conservationist – Jim Corbett. One of the first national parks in India to be given Project Tiger status and a place with so much wildlife and human history wrapped up in its origins, that a visit here just to hear about Jim Corbett; let alone see the wildlife tigers he helped conserve, is both enriching and fascinating at the same time.
Best Place in India to See Tigers. Top 5 Tiger Reserves in India
Best place in India to see Tigers – Top 5 Tiger Reserves in India. India is blessed to be in a ‘golden period’ of tiger safari tourism; with more and more tiger reserves being run in a more professional manner and the number of tiger sightings increasing year on year. Here at Wildlife Trails we are lovers of all wildlife and like to encourage you to visit some of the Indian national parks which are ‘off the beaten track’.
Tiger and Leopard Safari in India and Sri Lanka – Which Parks to Visit?
Sadly when we first visited Sri Lanka back in 2002, the civil war that had torn the country apart for decades was still very much ongoing and national parks and wildlife sanctuaries in the North of the island were very much off-limits. While travelling around Sri Lanka I spoke directly with naturalists and leopard researchers who told be about the ‘golden days’ of Wilpattu national park; when it was the ‘go to’ place for seeing the biggest leopards in Asia.
Snow Leopard Tour in Ladakh India
It’s minus 20 degrees Celsius outside and I slip on my fleece lined North Face slippers and venture out. I am greeted by a Tolkienesque type scene outside our simple Ladakh homestay. A half-circle of mountains surrounds us and snow envelopes the hill sides like newly washed linen.
India Wildlife Tour – So Much More than Just Tigers
India Wildlife Tour - is a car and your own driver the best way to see India? After enjoying my first tiger safari in Ranthambhore way back in 1997, I can fully understand how this wonderous animal attracts so many people to take an India wildlife holiday.
India Tiger Safari, Ranthambhore – Is This the Best Park for Tigers?
Is Ranthambhore the best place for a tiger safari on your India wildlife holiday? One of the most common questions we get asked here at Wildlife Trails from people planning their India wildlife tour is ‘which is the best tiger sanctuary to visit?’.
My First Ever Tiger Safari in India!
Rewind to January 1997. I was 26 years old. My ‘round the world trip ticket ‘had been paid for, I was flying out to Nepal to attempt the Everest Base Camp Trek before flying on to Thailand to start my Padi diving course on the beautiful Island of Koh Samui; after that Lao, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Bali and a working visa in Australia.
Our Clients Say About Us
We had a 13 day tour to India, mostly wildlife as this was what we wanted and a little element of city & culture. Day in Delhi staying at the Imperial, apart from noisy traffic getting to the el it was an iconic place to be, so much hitory and staff who had been there 30yrs and proud of what they did. then onto 5 days at Ranthambor - 2 incredible Tiger sightings with so many other species, onto Agra and the Taj Mahal and then the Saptura National Park. Great time was taken in the planning, we were given lots of options as to how to make the trip up including time of year and how to maximize wildlife sighting.
Three weeks in India with the fantastic wildlife photographer and teacher, Trai Anfield, concentrating on finding and photographing tiger and leopard, as well as experiencing all the cultural ders of this extraordinary country. The trip exceeded all expectations. We stayed in a wonderful selection of safari lodges, tented camps, forts and palaces, experienced the food and customs of the regions, visited and spent time with the local people and were in Udaipur to celebrate the paint festival, Holi. Out of all the game drives we did over the three weeks, on only two did we return without having seen either tiger or leopard. A truly outstanding experience in every respect, made even more special by the dedication of Trai Anfield to make sure that her clients had the best possible tuition and opportunities to take the photograph of a lifetime. Excellent in every respect. Everything worked perfectly. The booking arrangements, information and assistance before the trip, local guides and local arrangements all worked extremely well and the trip content, compiled in collaboration with Trai Anfield, was outstandingly brilliant.
We have recently returned from a 16-night trip to India, organised by Wildlife Trails. It was a tailored trip, encompassing safari in Kaziranga and Corbett with city breaks in Mumbai, Kolkata and hi to catch some IPL cricket. Essentially we were on a 16-night, 5 centre itinerary, no more than 3 nights in any one location, involving many and varied transfers by road, rail and air. The chaos which characterises India, and is certainly part of its charm, can cause frustration for travellers – unless they are travelling with Wildlife Trails, who have partnered with ground agents in India who have the knack of short-circuiting the chaos and arriving everywhere with comfortable punctuality, every time. A thoroughly professional service, enabling our party of 4 to fully enjoy the wonderful experiences India has to offer. We had dedicated wildlife drivers/guides during our stays at both Kaziranga and Corbett – in both cases they were very friendly, we were very well looked after by them, and they greatly enriched our experience of the wildlife. We were blessed with tiger sightings at both Kaziranga (2 different tigers on 2 different days!) and Corbett – where we close enough to the tiger to consider it an encounter rather than a sighting. And Rhino galore (including being amongst a sizeable herd on elephant safari), and wild elephant galore, and deer, and monkeys, and fabulous birds. Accommodation at both National Parks was very good, as were the meals. During our city breaks we had guided tours of each city. Our guides were all punctual, very knowledgeable and friendly – our experience of all 3 cities was certainly enriched by our guides. The agents and drivers who assisted with our transfers to and from airports and railways stations were unfailingly polite and helpful – we were delivered to our seats on the train in Kolkata and met at the carriage door when we arrived 19 hours later in Delhi. Kirsty from Wildlife Trails worked with us over several iterations of our itinerary – always offering positive suggestions and responding promptly and fully to our questions. Putting the trip together with Wildlife Trail was a pleasure in itself – and I’m very happy and impressed to be able to say that everything went according to plan. We would all four have no hesitation in recommending Wildlife Trails to anyone considering a wildlife adventure in India.
WE had 2 nights in Delhi at Claridges, perfect as always, 3 nights at Kipling Camp, excellent staff, guide, rooms and best of all picnic by the river to bath the beautiful 'Tara' the phant. Went on to Bandhavgargh 'Bandhav Villas' where we have stayed 5 times, treated like Royalty, the rooms have been upgraded, 6* service and most of all 22 Tiger sightings including mother and 3 cubs, wild dogs and other wild life. What else can one ask for? We have used 'Wildlife Trails' now for at least 7 times. They are very knowledgeable, flexible, good listeners as to what you want to do/see, have really become our 'travel friends'. They arranged tours to India, Sri Lanka and Tanzania for us. They have give an excellent service and have good 'local partners' to be there for you.
It was a great itinerary that allowed us to see all the iconic and unique wildlife of India in the company of excellent guides, thoughtful drivers and accommodation hosts. In Gujarat we saw wild , birdlife including migrating bar headed geese, asiatic lions - which are not as easy to see as you might think and need persistence, Black buck, Indian wolf & jungle cat with leopard, tiger and a very fast moving sloth bear in Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. The accomodation was excellent particularly Blackbuck Lodge @ Velavadar and Reni Pani @ Saptura and everywhere had top notch hospitality. Travel was by car, train and plane - travelling in India takes some acclimatisation but the drivers and meet & greet guides were very professional and made it as easy as they could! overall it was a well put together holiday which flowed and allowed us to experience India and Indian wildlife at its best. Very efficient and put together; a well thought through itinerary.

Start your journey, example safari itineraries, our favourite safari locations, kanha national park.
Based in the Maikal mountain range of Satpuras in Madhya Pradesh, also home to the Pench National Park and Bandhavgarh National Parks, Kanha National Park is a destination celebrated for its high density of tigers. Covering an area of 940 square kilometres, this national park is most notable in popular culture for being mentioned in Rudyard Kipling's The Jungle Book . For anybody familiar with the story but have never seen this national park, you can get an idea of what to expect: a captivating blend of picturesque landscapes, diverse ecosystems, and a lot of wildlife!
Kanha is renowned for its density. With tall trees that grow up to a height of 100 feet (approximately 30 metres), thick bamboo forests, and lush green fields of tall grass, there is so much to explore. Home to a wide variety of wildlife, you can expect to see leopards, a variety of birds, wild dogs, and barasingha deer, also known as the swamp deer.
Known for its distinctive antlers, the name "barasingha" has Hindi origin and means “12-antlered deer,” it is a highly sociable deer and is listed as an endangered species. In fact, Kanha played a key role in saving the barasingha from extinction through various conservation methods, increasing the population from about 60 to an estimated 800, making it the only place in the world where the barasingha swamp deer can be seen in the wild, and it's not uncommon for you to see herds of 10 to 20 deer roaming the fields and meadows of the park! And the watering holes add serenity to the vibrant jungle, creating the perfect positions to observe wildlife.
Kanha National Park provides an unforgettable tiger safari in India.
TADOBA NATIONAL PARK
Tadoba National Park, also known as the Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve, is the largest and oldest national park in Maharashtra and is spread across 626 square kilometres in the Chandrapur district, approximately 150 kilometres from Nagpur, the third-largest city in the state.
This park showcases the rich biodiversity of the region in all of its glory. The dense woodlands are home to a variety of wildlife, including a diverse bird population, crocodiles, sloths, leopards, and the majestic tiger. The lush flora alone is dominated by a variety of mango, mahua, bamboo, teak, and sal trees, offering a perfect picturesque setting for your safari exploration.
It is a prime opportunity to witness the iconic Indian bison known as gaurs, the largest extant bovine known for its massive build, strong stature, and distinctive high grey ridge on its forehead between the horns. A relative of domestic cattle, the gaur is a prominent and iconic species in this location with the distinct characteristic of using high whistles to warn other members of the herd of approaching danger.
With a history dating back to 184 BC, Tadoba is an intriguing mixture of culture, mythology, and nature, which only adds to its allure. A rich amalgamation of culture, mythology, and nature with many historical landmarks in the forest landscape, it is a great place to observe wildlife, flora, and its rich biodiversity.
RANTHAMBORE NATIONAL PARK
Ranthambore National Park is situated about 14 kilometres from the Sawai Madhopur district of eastern Rajasthan and is a renowned wildlife destination known for its diverse flora and fauna. Named after the historic Ranthambore Fort located within its boundaries, this park boasts a rich history dating back to the year 1955 when it was established as the Sawai Madhopur Game Sanctuary. It was declared a national park in 1980 after becoming a Project Tiger reserve in 1973 with the aim of protecting the endangered Bengal tigers.
The park covers approximately 1,334 square kilometres and is characterised by the largest stretch of Anogeissus pendula (Dhok) forest in the whole of India. Ranthambore is home to a variety of wildlife, including Bengal tigers, hyenas, leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles, and over 300 species of birds. The lush flora includes 539 species of flowering plants that create a beautiful backdrop for your safari adventure.
While notably smaller in comparison to other reserves, this only increases the chances of tiger sightings, making it a prime location for tiger safaris in India, and Reni Pani, a popular wildlife lodge, provides an amazing base to explore all the wonders Ranthambore has to offer. An amazing blend of history, nature, and wildlife, it is a must-visit destination for wildlife lovers and nature enthusiasts alike.
SATPURA NATIONAL PARK
Satpura National Park , based in the Satpura Range of Hoshangabad district in Madhya Pradesh, is a testament to India's ongoing commitment to preserving diverse ecosystems. Covering a vast area of 1,427 square kilometres, Satpura National Park is known for its rugged terrain, deep valleys, sandstone peaks, and a huge network of rivers and rivulets.
In addition to its wonderful scenery, it's home to a huge variety of wildlife, including mammals such as sloth bears, wild boars, spotted deer, porcupines, smooth otters, and Indian giant squirrels, as well as over 300 species of birds and reptiles, including various species of snakes, marsh crocodiles, turtles, and Indian chameleons. And as the park's diverse flora features trees such as sal, teak, bamboo, and various medicinal plants, Satpura National Park has a stunning biodiversity on offer and is a veritable paradise for wildlife enthusiasts.
With a variety of options for safari on foot, in vehicles, as well as on elephant and boat safaris, allow visitors to explore the park's diverse terrain in the way they see fit, and the park's water sources, such as the Denwa River, create picturesque scenes and natural gathering spots for wildlife.
Satpura provides unique sightings all year round, with the summers being fantastic for seeing wildlife in their habitat, with winters also boasting their own mystical charm too! The peak times to visit are between the months of October and June, offering a serene and naturally spoiled environment to explore.

Where to go on safari in India
There’s no doubt that ranthambore national park is the most popular place to go on safari in india . but venture further afield and you’ll find a more intimate and authentic safari experience in lesser-known national parks. here is our guide to the best safari spots in india., bandhavgarh national park.
A former royal hunting ground turned national park in 1968, Bandhavgarh in Madhya Pradesh is one of India’s smaller national parks at 448 square miles. Amazingly, despite its history of hunting, Bandhavgarh has one of the highest densities of Bengal tigers in the country, making it a popular alternative to Ranthambore for those with the elusive striped predators at the top of their checklist. There are around 22 mammal species including the common langur, sloth bear, striped hyena and leopard, plus over 250 species of birdlife – so there’s plenty to keep an eye out for.
Where to stay - Just 20 minutes from the park entrance, Taj Mahua Kothi is the epitome of safari luxe. Nothing is too much trouble; you’ll have your own butler and you can choose to have dinner whenever and wherever you please. It’s also wonderfully intimate with just 12 jungle huts.
Kanha National Park
If you want to relive your childhood fantasy of being Mowgli and make friends in the jungle (at a safe distance, of course), there’s no better place than Kanha National Park – the original inspiration for The Jungle Book. In a playground of bamboo forests, meadows and towering sal trees, it’s easy to be enraptured by enchanting scenes of chital, dainty Bambi-esque white-spotted deer, male peacocks and their sweeping vivid plumes and the larger barasingha, a swamp deer that was saved from extinction thanks to conservation efforts in Kanha. It’s a good bet if you’re after a sighting of the mighty Shere Khan, too.
Where to stay - Taj Banjaar Tola exudes rustic luxury in a 90-acre private concession close to Kanha, complete with flawless Taj service. Its 18 tented suites are all slightly elevated to change the environment as little as possible, and each has a deck looking out to the peaceful Banjaar River and forest beyond.
Pench National Park
Two hours from the city of Nagpur, Pench National Park is one of India’s lesser-visited parks on the border of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. It’s smaller than most at 293 square miles and it’s home to a famous tigress. Collarwali has given birth to seven litters and 26 cubs in total. It’s said to be the highest recorded number of tiger cubs given birth in the wild, and visitors can keep a keen eye out for the Queen of Pench and her cubs. Among these fierce cats, there’s plenty of wildlife to spot in Pench including herds of gaur (Indian bison), sambar deer and over 260 bird species like the vivid blue greater racket-tailed drongo.
Where to stay - At Pench Tree Lodge , you can stay in one of the six treehouses, each kitted out with air-conditioning, a canopied four poster bed and a deck area that keen birders will love.
Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve
Relatively unheard of outside of India and set in beautiful forest, Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve has only recently seen a rise in popularity. Encompassing Tadoba National Park and Andhari Game Sanctuary, this is the largest and oldest tiger reserve in Maharashtra. You’ll have a decent chance of spotting a tiger within the 45-square-mile Tadoba National Park where there are around 70 resident tigers, as well as leopard, sloth bear, gaur and wild dogs. Tadoba remains open all year round (closed only on Tuesdays), so those looking for a safari between July and October won’t miss out. Just be wary of sweltering heat between April to June and heavy rains between July and September.
Where to stay - Svasara Jungle Lodge is family-run, and a mere 300 metres from Kolara Gate. There are 12 simple and modern-style suites, a library and a central Teak House which doubles as the restaurant and cinema showing documentaries on Tadoba.
Satpura National Park
Want off-the-beaten-track? Satpura has a different feel to most national parks. The terrain is hillier; there’s an abundance of water, which means you can go on a river safari; and it’s much quieter than most parks. Tiger viewing can prove trickier here, but Satpura’s diverse wildlife is arguably underrated. It’s leopards that are more likely to make an appearance and, besides, a much awaited sighting of a sloth bear, Malabar giant squirrel or wild crocodile is a rewarding treat in itself. It’s an interesting option for those who’ve been on an India safari before, or in combination with another national park.
Where to stay - Unplug and embrace nature at Reni Pani , a standout hotel that gets rave reviews for its exceptional service and breathtaking natural setting. The hotel has 12 beautifully decorated cottages and four luxury tents. There’s no television or internet; instead, there’s grazing deer, Hanuman langurs and countless birds to look out for from your private deck.

Luxury India Safari
A stunning safari ensuring that you venture through a number of different areas within India. Track leopards whilst staying in luxurious African-style tents, stand in awe at the splendour of the Taj Mahal as well as exploring the bustling streets of Delhi.
This incredible itinerary takes you to a range of different areas throughout India and Rajasthan. You will have ample time to explore stunning buildings such as the Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and the Meherangarh Fort as well as venturing through Ranthambore National Park and the breath-taking area of Jawai in search of India’s resident wildlife including tigers, leopards and elephants.
What to expect?
Arrival in delhi.
Upon arrival in Delhi, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Take some time to relax after your flight and let the anticipation build prior to your adventures of the coming days.
Exploring Old and New Delhi
Take a sightseeing tour of Old Delhi; explore the narrow winding lanes which surround the Red Fort as well as the bustling the bazaars and shops - you will also have the opportunity to take a rickshaw ride. In the afternoon you will continue onto New Delhi, the part of the city which is renowned for its formal parks and magnificent parliament building. Your next stop will be the Sikh temple - Gurudwara Bangla Sahib.
Agra Exploration
This morning, after a delicious breakfast, you will drive approximately four hours to Agra and will be able to visit the Agra Fort which was built in the 16th century AD by three generations of Mughal emperors. Next you will visit the tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah; before the Taj Mahal was built its design was already standing and is known as the 'Baby Taj'. Built to represent a silver jewel box in marble, this mausoleum houses the body of Mirza Ghiyas Beg. You will end the day with a magical view of a sunset over the mausoleum from Mahtab Bagh or the Moonlight Garden.
Visit to the Taj Mahal and Beyond
Visit the Taj Mahal at sunrise; a monument of love built by Shah Jehan in 1630 for his queen. For 22 years 20,000 men laboured day and night to build this masterpiece. Later you will drive to Bharatpur railway station; en route you will visit Fatehpur Sikri - an enigmatic deserted Mughal city. This spacious, red sandstone city was built in the 16th century by the great Mughal Emperor, Akbar. The architecture is a combination of Hindu and Muslim styles. You will now board your train to Sawai Madhopur. Upon arrival you will be met and driven to your hotel.
Exploring Ranthambore National Park
Over the next couple of days, you will be able to explore the vibrant Ranthambore National Park encompasses nearly 400 sq km of dry, deciduous forest in South Western Rajasthan, nestled between the Aravali and Vindhya Hills. Though mainly known for tigers, sounders of wild boar and gazelle can be seen, as well as the Indian hare, mongoose and monitor lizards. Among the other local fauna are the leopard, hyena, jackal, jungle cats, sloth bear and marsh crocodile. The lakes and pools at the park are where the deer congregate and where it is easiest to see the animals.
Drive to Jaipur
Drive to Jaipur (approximately 3.5 hours). On arrival, you will be able to check in at your hotel and have plenty of time to settle in and explore the capital of Rajasthan.
Sightseeing in Jodhpur
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Jodhpur where you can visit the impressive Meherangarh Fort.
Journey to Jawai Bandh
Drive to Jawai Bandh (approximately 3.5 hours), en route you will have the opportunity to meet and interact with the Bishnoi villagers. The Bishnoi people are known the world over for their love and protection of animals and plant life and they may be considered as some of the earliest conservationists in the world. Upon arrival in Jawai Bandh, you will be able to settle in to your African-style tented camp, Jawai Leopard Camp.
Return to Delhi
Bid a fond farewell to the stunning area of Jawai with a final morning game drive before driving back to Jodhpur where you will catch your onward flight to Delhi. You will be met in Delhi by our local representative who will show you to your comfortable hotel for the evening.

Tiger Safari India Tours
In India, a successful tiger safari necessitates endurance and patience. The most important component of our team’s training in the jungle is tracking. Our skilled trackers interpret all they see in addition to simply being watchers. Knowing what the animals are saying and why helps because all forest residents speak their own dialect. Your tiger safari will be successful and meaningful thanks to their skilled eyes and ears.
The following list includes some of our most popular Tiger Safari India itineraries. Just let us know if you’d like to experience the variety of Indian culture in addition to the tiger safaris, and we’ll recommend various tours in that case. During your India vacation, you might want to check out some of the highlights, such as an early-morning boat ride on the sacred Ganges, a rickshaw ride through the vibrant bazaars, a heritage walk in the walled city, or a street cuisine tour.

India is fortunate to have a diverse landscape given that it is located in the south-eastern subtropical range. This helps to preserve a variety of animals in various landscapes and guarantees that each species is cared for in such a wide range of habitats.
Corbett National Park , a forest treasure that gracefully abuts the Himalayan Foothills, is located in the north. It is known as the country of the roar, trumpet, and song because it honours the giant Asian elephant, more than 500 species of birds, and the most tigers per square foot. Now let’s go on to Central India, where Kanha National Park served as the inspiration for Rudyard Kipling’s “Jungle Book.” Some of the largest male tigers the nation has ever seen can be found in this area. Kanha National Park & Tiger Reserve is a park that has been in the forefront of animal protection in India, aside from the tiger.
Such is the diversity India rests on. Below are some of the most toured national parks for tiger safaris in India .
Rantahmbore National Park
Ranthambore National Park is India’s first and most beautiful park, spanning 520 square kilometres along the banks of the Ramganga, Kosi, and more.
Bandhavgarh thrives not only because of the beautiful wildlife it has, but also because of the enormous mythological significance it carries.
One of the most beautiful national parks with a diverse array of wildlife is Corbett. Animals including tigers, Asian elephants.

Tiger Safari India FAQs
FAQs on Tiger Safari Holidays
Either you notice them or you don’t, the odds are always 50%. Although it is advised to do at least 06 continuous drives to maximise your chances of seeing something. However, we must inform you that over the past 19 years, not a single one of our guests has returned without witnessing at least one Tiger.
The animals stay closer to the water sources in the summer (March–May), when the forest dries out and the daytime highs are around 45°C. Our routes have more water bodies and clearer underbrush, which increases the likelihood of spotting tigers. Particularly in the cases of Bandhavgarh, Kanha, and Ranthambore. We have many opportunities to see tigers walking on the Jeep tracks because of the coolness that the winter months [November to February] bring and the abundance of water that is still dispersed throughout the jungle. It also retains a sense of mystery because you could run into the Big Cat at any point during your drive. Wintertime in our Indian Jungles is a visual and intellectual spectacular.
To help you, we have both short and long itineraries available. We have learned from our visitors and from our own experience that the best way to maximise your chances of seeing a tiger is to spend at least 06 nights in the jungle. We’ve had visitors travel India for more than a month at a time, visiting various national parks to witness the diversity of our biosphere and some noteworthy cultural sites.

About India
India’s wild and remote places are home to an extraordinary variety of enthralling and endangered wildlife from tigers to sloth bears. Combined with its astonishing culture there’s enough in India to keep the inquisitive traveller returning time and again.
At Natural High we create tailor-made India luxury tours; from private treks in the Himalaya to intelligently guided tours of Rajasthan to exploring the backwaters of Kerala and beyond.
While it might not immediately spring to mind as a premier wildlife destination, India has its own ‘Big Five’ to rival that of Africa including the majestic tiger, leopard, Asiastic lion, one-horned rhinoceros and elephant.
Most importantly, India is one of the last few places in the world to see tiger in their natural habitat; in the company of conservationists and our expert guides you have the best chance possible of seeing one of these magnificent, endangered big cats in the wild.
The great size of India, its diversity and its complexity mean it’s rather like a dozen countries in one with a unique identity that can captivate you in one moment and challenge you in the next.
It’s impossible to see everything in one visit and at first glance India can seem overwhelming. Our recommendation is to take it slow and take the time to explore one region well. Using our expertise and first-hand experience our approach is always to get you to the right areas at the right time and pace, and smooth your way seamlessly through this incredible country.

Top Reasons To Visit India
Often the best adventures involve looking beyond the obvious highlights. It’s about the myriad exhilarating encounters that will make your heart sing. These are encounters that nobody could ever predict, but that make your travel genuinely unique.
Best Time To Visit India
India is a vast country so there is no one best time to visit.
Generally the best time to visit India is between October and April, with May to September for Ladakh in the high Himalaya.
There are many local variations and exceptions. Altitude and latitude affect the climate and at the same time it’s snowing in the Himalayas, the Western Ghats more than 1000km south are warm and sunny. For example, in April and May the weather is very pleasant in the hills such as Darjeeling or Kumaon at a time when it is very hot (40C+) in Rajasthan and the northern plains. These months are also great for a safari, in spite of the heat, as jungle foliage and waterholes have dried up making it easier to spot wildlife.
The only area that isn’t affected by the monsoon rains is Ladakh. Lying in the rain shadow of the Himalayas and cut off from the rest of India by snow for the remainder of the year, June to September are the perfect time to visit.
Millions of Indians travel during local holidays and while an Indian festival is heaps of fun services can be overwhelmed by demand and you need to be prepared for crowds and noise reaching the seemingly remotest of places.

India (FAQs) Need to Know
Where is the best place to see tigers in india.
Tracking tigers in their natural environment is a hugely exhilarating experience and a good sighting of this powerful beast is enough to make every hair on your body stand on end. Some of India’s tiger reserves, such as Ranthambore in Rajasthan, Bandhavgarh and Tadoba in Central India, are former hunting grounds of maharajas and the ruins of their deserted forts and palaces provide a regal backdrop to the tiger’s jungle domain. Using small lodges and camps we use jeeps to cover large areas of the parks in the company of people who are passionate about all wildlife and will interpret the sights and sounds of the jungle to track their hidden inhabitants.
How many days do you need for a holiday in India?
Your length of time in India is really down to your timescales, budget and bucket list. India is a vast country filled with incredible experiences across its length and breadth and we recommend focussing on one region to make the most of your time. You could head to the Himalayas for a private hike with views of mighty snow-capped peaks, drift through lazy backwaters and tropical hills of Kerala, discover forts, palaces and colourful desert villages of Rajasthan or explore jungles home to endangered wildlife in the central states. We’d always suggest taking your time to explore a region rather than jumping from place to place and spending too much time in transit.
Is an Indian holiday suitable for families?
Families looking for an exhilarating blend of wilderness and culture will love India. It’s a paradise for the curious and one thing we can pretty much guarantee is that your children will never be bored. Cool off in rock pools on hikes in Kerala’s hills at Christmas, make a safari in the footsteps of Kipling’s Jungle Book at Easter or explore the remote moonscapes of ‘Little Tibet’ in summer. You’ll be fully but discretely supported throughout your trip so that you and your family can enjoy the adventure with peace of mind.

Falling in the south eastern sub-tropical range, India is lucky to have a varying geography. This not only helps in conserving a plethora of wildlife in different landscapes but also ensures each of the species are well taken care of in such diverse habitats.
In the north, we have Corbett National Park, a forested gem that falls beautifully in the laps of the Himalayan Foothills. It is called the land of the Roar, Trumpet and Song for it pays homage to most number of tigers per square foot, the great Asian elephant and more than 500 species of birds. Moving on to Central India, Kanha National Park is the milieu on which Rudyard Kipling’s ‘Jungle Book’ was penned. This jungle has some of the biggest male tigers the country has ever seen. Other than the tiger, Kanha is one park which has been at the forefront of wildlife conservation in India. It not only brought back species like the Hard Ground Swamp Deer (Barasingha) but also helped it sister parks with their Tiger and Bison population by successfully translocating a few of them. In the eastern part of India, Kaziranga National Park is a jewel for it is home to the largest population of the Indian One Horned Rhino. The park is also witness to a multitude of Himalayan Bird Species, that bless the jungle with their chirps.
Such is the diversity India rests on. Below are some of the most toured national parks for tiger safaris in the country.

Tiger Safari India FAQs
Faqs on tiger safari holidays.
There are 7 other countries besides India where the Tigers roam free. But India with a population of 2967 tigers has about three-fourth of the world’s wild tigers roaming in 50 tiger reserves. The sheer number of tigers in India increases the chances of sighting them substantially. Out of the 50 tiger reserves you have excellent chances of sighting tigers in at least 15 of them.
The top 3 national parks for a tiger safari India tour are Corbett National Park , Bandhavgarh National Park , Kanha National Park , Pench Tiger Reserve and Ranthambore National Park.
Yes, it is safe to stay inside the national park during your tiger safari trip to India. However, one must be aware that roaming free outside your room post-sunset is strictly prohibited. You could encounter the wildlife of any kind and it could be dangerous. These rules are more specifically followed if you’re lodging in rest house like the Dhikala Forest Rest House in Corbett National Park, but not so much in lodges that are located slightly away from the jungle’s main boundary.
A jeep is an open roofed car which is the most agile form of tiger safari within an Indian national park. It has the capacity to seat a naturalist (also your driver), a guide (as provided by the forest department) and 06 guests while on safari. A canter on the other hand is an open roofed mini bus which has the seating capacity of a driver, guide and 16-20 guests.
In India, the ideal time to view tigers is variable, depending on the season and the forest’s natural rhythms. The months of November through April, the dry season, are ideal for a tiger safari in India. At this period, tigers are more prone to come out of the jungle in search of water, since the foliage is less thick and water sources are sparse.
Tiger sightings, however, are most common between the months of February and April, when temperatures are higher and foliage is thinner. It’s also the mating season for tigers, so you could get to see some amazing antics if you go now.
Several national parks are closed from June to September, the height of the monsoon season, since the forest becomes dangerously muddy and overgrown. When the monsoons have passed in October and November, the jungle is still green and there is a decent chance of seeing tigers.
The dry season in India, which runs from November to April, is the greatest time to observe tigers, with the months of February and April being the peak months for tiger sightings. As tigers are wild creatures, their movements are never certain. Yet, if you schedule your visit well, you may boost the likelihood of a fruitful safari.
Accommodation, safari duration, number of persons in your group, and specific national park all play a role in determining the total price for your India tiger safari. Feel free to enquire any tour and our wildlife tour expert will guide you on everything.
Tigers are wild creatures, thus their whereabouts and behavior can’t be predicted. As a result, it is hard to predict how many tigers you will see on a tiger safari in India . But, the likelihood of seeing tigers on your tiger safari will vary depending on a number of variables, including the specific national park you visit, the season you go, and the length of your trip.
Certain national parks have a larger tiger population than others, therefore your chances of seeing one are greater if you visit such places. A greater probability of seeing tigers may be had in national parks like Bandhavgarh , Kanha, and Ranthambore. Yet seeing a tiger is by no means a sure thing, even in these parks.
The season also has a role in how many tigers you may encounter. As was previously indicated, the dry season (November–April) is the optimal time to see tigers. It is easier to detect tigers at this time of year since the jungle is less thick and they are more likely to go out to get water.
Your chances of seeing tigers on safari may also be affected by how long you go on the trip. Spending more time in the park increases your chances of seeing tigers, so go for a longer safari if you can.
In conclusion, it is difficult to promise a particular number of tigers you will encounter on a safari in India since the amount changes based on a variety of circumstances. Yet, you may improve your chances of seeing these magnificent animals by going on a safari for a longer period of time, going to the correct national park, and visiting at the proper time of year.
There is a wide variety of wildlife in India, so a safari will likely include sightings of more than just tigers. Some animals you could see on a safari in India include:
Leopards are the second biggest big cat in India and may be found in the same national parks as tigers. They’re more difficult to notice than tigers because to their penchant for hiding in plain sight.
The biggest number of Asiatic elephants may be found in India, and they are often seen in the country’s numerous national parks. They are fascinating to see and are usually located close to bodies of water.
Dholes, or Indian wild dogs, are a critically endangered canine subspecies that may be seen in a few of India’s national parks. They’re quite gregarious and always found in groups.
Bears with very long snouts called sloth bears, and they may be seen in most of India’s national parks. They like to be left alone and operate mostly during daylight hours.
The Sambar deer is the biggest kind of deer in India, and it is common to see them in the country’s many protected areas. Tigers and leopards rely heavily on them as prey.
The Nilgai, or “blue bull,” is the biggest antelope species in Asia and may be seen in a number of India’s national parks. A common sight in open grasslands, these birds are easily recognizable because to their distinctive blue-gray coloring.
Opt for early morning or late afternoon safaris, as tigers are more active during these periods. Additionally, hiring an experienced guide that can track tiger movement within the national park and choosing less crowded zones within the parks enhances the likelihood of tiger sightings.
Responsible tourism promotes conservation efforts and minimizes environmental impact. Choosing eco-friendly accommodations, supporting local communities, and respecting wildlife habitats contribute to sustaining the ecosystem for future generations of tiger enthusiasts in India.
While photography is encouraged, some parks may have guidelines to prevent disturbance to wildlife. Using silent shutters and avoiding the use of flash is recommended. Always follow the rules set by the park authorities for responsible wildlife photography. It’s important to note that while mobile phones and small cameras are often allowed for personal use, there may be a fee for the usage of documentary and film cameras inside the national parks. Always check with the specific park regulations for details on camera usage fees.
The duration of a tiger safari can vary. Safaris usually last for 3 to 4 hours, with morning and afternoon sessions. Some parks also offer full-day safaris. Visitors can choose the duration based on personal preferences and the availability of safari options at the chosen destination.

Exclusive Tiger Safaris in India
On trails that resonate his roar...
At Tiger Safari India it is our endeavor to provide you with the best tiger safari holidays in India that have learning, adventure, and unlimited memories. We encourage you to store your experiences in form of videos and still photos which you will fondly go over at a later stage in life with friends, families, and your future generations.
While it is easy to capture people, landscapes, and monuments, capturing wildlife involves certain dynamics. The wildlife documentaries by channels are made with painstaking efforts covering months of filming in unhostile terrain, expensive equipment, special permissions from the authorities, weeks of post-production, and a great deal of resources. The end result is a dream setup. But this is not what you always see when you are on a tiger safari .
The videos below are shot by our team during a safari using a regular video camera, in a regular safari vehicle, no tripods, no extra permissions, and importantly during a 3-night stay in a national park. This is how you see tigers during a wildlife safari .

Beyond wildlife safari in national parks: 6 must-do activities
TRAVEL TRENDS , INDIA Updated : Apr 17, 2024, 10:21 IST
National parks are not just about observing wildlife from a distance. They are in fact much more than that. They offer a plethora of activities that cater to diverse interests, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all visitors. Apart from thrilling adventures, you get to enjoy some of the serene moments in nature, which definitely stands out whenever you are in national parks.
Here are other must-do activities in national parks that you can try beyond the traditional safari experience.
Forest trek
Most national parks have extensive networks of hiking trails, catering to all skill levels. Whether you're a seasoned trekker or a novice explorer, there's a trail waiting for you. Hike through those breathtaking landscapes, from towering mountains to lush forests, and get to see the raw beauty of nature first-hand. Places like Kanha National Park, Satpura National Park, and Kunjkharak trek near Corbett are some that you should definitely try.
Wildlife encounters
Beyond the confines of a safari vehicle, national parks offer opportunities for up-close wildlife encounters. Join guided walks or self-guided tours to observe animals in their natural habitat, from elusive birds to majestic predators. Remember to maintain a safe distance and respect the wildlife's space.
Camping under the stars
Yes, you can also opt to spend a night under the star-studded sky by camping in national parks. Pitch a tent at designated campsites for a truly immersive experience. Fall asleep to the sounds of nature and wake up to the sights of a new day dawning. Some of the national parks that have campsite options in the vicinity are Eravikulam National Park in Kerala, Kanha National Park in Madhya Pradesh, Sariska National Park in Rajasthan, and more.
Water-based activities
Numerous national parks feature untouched lakes, rivers, and water passages, providing ample chances for aquatic adventures. As a result, boat safaris emerge as a primary attraction for tourists visiting these parks. Providing a distinct chance to venture into regions unreachable by land, boat safaris gain significant acclaim, especially in destinations like the Sunderbans and Periyar, where observing wildlife via jeep or elephant proves challenging.
Educational programs
National parks are treasure troves of natural and cultural heritage, and educational programs offer insights into their significance. Join ranger-led programs, guided walks, or interpretive tours to learn about the park's history, geology, and ecology. Gain a deeper appreciation for the land and its inhabitants.
Photography expeditions
Capture the beauty of national parks through the lens of a camera on photography expeditions. From golden sunrises to vibrant sunsets, there's no shortage of breathtaking scenes to photograph. Join workshops or explore on your own, honing your skills while creating lasting memories.

Africa Safari Trip: A Comprehensive Guide To Crafting Unforgettable Memories
H ave you witnessed a lion’s roar echo across the savanna or watched a herd of elephants lumber by? An Africa safari trip is an otherworldly experience, but where do you even begin? This guide will equip you with all the essentials to plan your unforgettable adventure . Even though it can seem overwhelming at times, if you’re equipped with the right guidance and information, the procedure is rather easy.
To help you plan the perfect safari tour in Africa, in addition to answering the majority of your frequently asked questions, we’re put together some of the greatest tips and useful suggestions.
Choosing the Location of Your African Safari Trip
An Africa safari trip promises an enchanted world of discovery, where each expedition and place holds the potential to reveal a captivating tale. Every area of this enormous continent, from the lush deltas of the south to the brilliant savannahs of the east, offers a different fabric of fauna and culture. This is more than just a journey—it’s an exploration of the core of nature, where opportunity abounds at every turn.
African safaris are unique among travel experiences because of the authentic, natural spectacle of the wild. These excursions aim to fully immerse you in the world of animals, not just observe them. Planning your destination is among the most crucial aspects of preparation for any holiday, including this one. Africa is vast, so it’d be helpful to start with a “where to go on an Africa safari trip” Google search if you have no idea what to do.
To select the ideal safari destination, you must consider the things you wish to see. Are there any specific animals or cultural events you would like to see? Kenya and Tanzania from July to October are your best choices if you’ve always wanted to see the Great Wildebeest Migration. Visit either Botswana or South Africa to see a huge herd of African elephants throughout the year.
In East Africa and the majority of Southern African nations, the “Big Five” are also widely distributed. Travel to Uganda, Rwanda or the Congo for gorilla trekking; these countries are all in Central Africa. If you want to see chimpanzees on your Africa safari tour, Uganda is the ideal place to do it.
Top 5 Choice Destinations for Your Africa Safari Trip
Here are our top five African wildlife safari destinations to help you plan your trip.
Kenya’s Maasai Mara National Reserve
At the Maasai Mara Reserves, the Big Five roam free, and boundless plains extend into the horizon on a wildlife safari. Traveling off-road and appreciating the lack of fences and lodging at any of the Mara conservation areas allows you to experience the breathtaking sight of countless wildebeests roaring across the East African savanna around the Great Migration.
From open safari vehicles, watch as lions hunt their prey with unparalleled subtlety. Elephants socialize within their close-knit groups, and elegant giraffes peruse acacia trees with grace. A fascinating insight into the Maasai people’s dynamic local culture, which is entwined with the land, its profusion of wildlife, and the natural beauties of the wildness itself, is provided by Maasai Mara.
Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park
Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park is home to a large environment that is brimming with life. See the boundless plains packed with antelopes, zebras, and wildebeests as they migrate in a never-ending dance of survival throughout your Africa safari trip. It’s what you anticipate seeing on game drives following your viewing of National Geographic or PBS programs. You might be amazed watching the big cats lounging in the shade following a good hunt, or you might experience the exhilaration of seeing a cheetah racing across the landscape in a flurry of speed.
There are other methods to observe wildlife, such as taking a hot-air balloon flight across the savanna for breath-inspiring, all-encompassing views of this iconic African terrain. Seasonality is essential when thinking about visiting the Serengeti; never schedule an unplanned online vacation.
Zambia’s South Luangwa National Park
You can feel the African wilderness in Zambia, not just see it. In contrast to safaris that are limited to metal enclosures, South Luangwa encourages you to stroll among the animals rather than drive by them. Imagine your heart racing as you make your way through verdant riverine forests full of leopards hiding in their disguises, only to be astounded by vast herds of buffalo crossing wide-open savannas.
As you approach elephants bathing, listen to the Luangwa River’s rushing waters, which will lead you to the echoes of night safaris. You can unwind in the unexpected comfort of fly tents or treehouse retreats when the stars adorn the sky.
South Africa’s Greater Kruger National Park
You can journey across acacia woodlands and tour places with sun-filled savannas along the rushing waters of the Sabi River in South Africa’s Greater Kruger National Park. Hear the echoes of prehistoric existence and see the exhilarating dance of adventures amidst the rare species. Renowned for its almost assured Big Five meetings, you get to experience the exhilarating thrill of seeing elephants trumpeting by a waterhole or lions relaxing in golden light—you don’t have to imagine it.
There is more to Kruger’s artistry than the Big Five. Higher populations of predators and a more varied array of species can be found in the superb private game reserves found in the Greater Kruger National Park. Wander along the river where crocodiles and hippos sunbathe before becoming lost in the rainbow of more than 500 different bird species.
Botswana’s Okavango Delta
Emerald islands emerge from the reflecting waters of the spreading waterways of Botswana’s Okavango Delta, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A mokoro is a native dugout canoe in which you may sail softly and intimately while spotting sleeping hippos afar and thirsty elephants sipping at the riverbanks .
Search among the trees for one of the greatest spots to see leopards or take in the aerial views of storks, eagles, and pelicans.
In such a distant location, the Okavango Delta boasts one of the largest concentrations of upscale safari resorts in Southern Africa, providing you with exclusive access to convenience and uncrowded rivers for a singular embrace of unspoiled wildlife.
Tips For An Outstanding African Safari Adventure
The foundation of a great African safari is effective communication. It makes sure you get the best possible experience out of your trip by bridging the gap between what you expect and the actual conditions of the environment. There are three communication techniques to help you receive the experience you want by interacting with an Africa safari trip guide or travel advisor .
Clearly state your demands and desires. Tell us about your ideal speed, cultural attractions, the wildlife you hope to see, and any unique interests you may have, such as birdwatching or photography. This enables your guide to customize your safari adventures based on your interests and budget. Mention any possible restrictions. Any physical restrictions or sensitivity should be disclosed to your guide to guarantee a fun and safe trip.
Pose inquiries. Never be afraid to ask questions about anything that piques your curiosity, be it local customs or the behavior of animals. Your guide holds a wealth of information that is just waiting to be discovered.
African safaris are an ode to the diversity and grandeur of nature. Every excursion offers a chance for a profound and intimate connection with nature. However, in a world full of breathtaking locations, the real art of travel is in how you take in each one. Each destination has a spirit of its own, and you can make transforming vacation experiences with the correct itinerary in addition to ones that are simply memorable.
Whether you’re traveling to the wild African savannahs or the charming countryside of Tuscany, creating a one-of-a-kind, dreamlike trip requires careful planning and vital information. It all comes down to creating a seamless, stress-free, and uniquely personalized tapestry of memories.
People Also Ask
How far should my Africa safari trip be scheduled? It’s advisable to make reservations eight to twelve months in advance of when you wish to go or depart for your selected African safari location. Enough time guarantees availability and your place at the top of the line for the most desirable experiences that Africa presents. It is always better to schedule your safari trip earlier than undergo a last-minute rush.
When is the ideal time to go on an Africa safari trip? The dry season, which runs from June to October, is the ideal time to go on a safari. Since it’s a warmer period of the year, there’s a greater chance that you’ll spot creatures looking for water. You can also witness the famous Masai Mara migration during these months.
