If you are looking to catch some rays and enjoy the beach then a trip to the Islamorada Sandbar is the place to go.

The famous Islamorada sandbar is located just a mile offshore around Mile Marker 84 on the Atlantic Ocean side, just off the Postcard Inn and Holiday Isles Marina. It’s a popular spot for people to visit, especially on holiday weekends, you will see hundreds of boats gather to create a huge party on the water. Because the water is shallow on the sandbar, you will see lounge chairs, barbecue grills, picnic table, umbrellas, all submersed in the water. The sandbar is a great spot for all ages, and even welcomes our four legged friends.

You can walk the sandy shores, sunbathe, onshore fishing, snorkel and collect seashells. It is a lot of fun and highly suggested if you like the beach

We’re located at Safe Harbor, Angler’s House Marina.  Located at 80500 Overseas Hwy in Islamorada.  The marina is bay side at MM 80.5 across the highway from the Midway Cafe.

We offer 4 and 6 hour trips. Your trip duration will depend on the day and time that you’ve booked. If you’d like to extend your trip we offer that service for an extra fee that can be negotiated on the day of your trip if our scheduling allows for additional time.

If you have small children you will want to bring your own snorkel gear as we have 6 adult sets of snorkel equipment but it is not suitable for very small children under the age of 10. You’ll want to bring your own cooler with ice for mixed drinks as our cooler is suited for cans, bottles and pre-packaged food.

Conversely, weekdays at the Sandbar are much more tranquil, making our secluded mangrove island tours a perfect alternative for those seeking a quieter setting when the Sandbar is too crowded. The decision is entirely up to you. Capture the perfect shot for your next profile picture! Our pictures showcase the myriad of activities suitable for all age groups at what is consistently ranked the top destination in the Florida Keys. Guests have the option to relax on the boat, make use of the various floats we provide, or even float or sit on the sandbar, typically with a refreshing beverage of their choice in hand. Both adults and children can paddle across the shallow waters, teeming with marine life, surrounding the Islamorada’s Sandbar for a laid-back afternoon. While the mangrove islands do not have a beach or sandbar, guests can spend their day snorkeling, paddleboarding, or enjoying music onboard. It is an ideal spot for observing wildlife, paddling, and taking photographs, with the added bonus of frequently spotting dolphins around the mangrove islands. Our flag is always proudly displayed! Guests are welcome to use the bow (front) of any of our boats to sunbathe, read a book, or simply unwind. We encourage guests to bring their own lunch and beverages, which can be enjoyed either on our private boat charters or our multifunctional paddleboards… a difficult decision to make!

A custom Bluetooth Sound System ensures there is no competition to your music selection while our bench or stool seating guarantees maximum comfort. Smaller kids and older adults will have no trouble getting in and out of the water with our huge 4 step ladder. Afterward, rinse off with our freshwater shower as we cruise back to shore.

The famous Islamorada sandbar is located less than a mile offshore around Mile Marker 84. The area is a combination of shallow waters and shallow sandbars.

The Islamorada Sandbar is a favorite spot of locals and visitors alike. Located right off of the Overseas Highway, the sandbar is easily accessible and provides the perfect spot for picnics, swimming, sunbathing, floating and playing ball.

During the day, the sandbar is a beautiful shallow turquoise blue. The sandbar is a great spot for all ages. We recommend 3 hours to enjoy the sandbar.

Customer Information

We keep it easy – BYOB. Bring whatever your group wants to drink, and then double it! Trust me, the drinks go down like water at the sandbar and you’ll be happy you brought enough! We supply the ice coolers to keep your drinks and food ice cold.

Make sure you bring some food to wash down those drinks, subs or wraps work best on the boat.

Please ensure that you apply your sunscreen prior to boarding. No spray sunscreens allowed on the boat due to slips and falls. Please use environmentally friendly sunscreen to protect our ecosystem.

All tours are at the discretion of the Captain. Safety first for our customers. We accept PayPal, checks, credit card and cash.

Try to keep personal items to a minimum. Please no Metal cups. Thank you!

The Hurricane - Deck Boat 24' Vessel

This boat comes complete with a stylish "sea dek" (great for photos) and a JL audio speaker system with a wireless bluetooth connection.  A built-in bimini top will provide shade towards the back half of the boat. Cooler space, ice and waters will be available upon pick-up time. Guests may bring food or beverages on board. This boat charter includes: A stand-up paddleboard, a 9x5 floating water mat, floats, water toys and snorkel gear.

Built for cruising, not for speed, this boat charter includes : 

2 Stand-up paddleboards for hands on experiences with help for beginners from our staff. A 9x5 floating water mat, floats, water toys & more! A built-in bimini top will provide shade towards the back half of the boat. Cooler space, ice and waters will be available upon pick-up time. Guests may bring food or beverages on board. 

The capacity of our vessels are 6 people MAX (due to coast guard regulations). We do have an option to use two vessels for parties of 7-12; keeping both boats side by side throughout the whole experience. If you have any larger parties than 12 please feel free to send us an email and we can try and accommodate you and your guests.

Islamorada Sandbar

Islamorada sandbar or mangrove islands adventure.

Less than one mile offshore on the oceanside, you will find the popular Islamorada Sandbar. This “underwater island” is only accessible by boat or float (paddleboards, kayak, etc). For a half or full day on a less expensive, basic sandbar boat, choose the private excursion from Key Largo Adventures, the “Half-Day Sandbar Pontoon” button above, or choose a Private or Shared charter with alternate types of boats from our affiliate company, Aquablue Adventures by clicking the “Simple Sandbar Charter” button above.

On warm weekends throughout the year, you may find up to 300 boaters. Key Largo and Islamorada Sandbar boaters gather to enjoy the crystal clear waters, the soft sand, and the 360° panoramic view – where spectacular sights are the norm. On weekends, expect to join the Islamorada Sandbar party boat to party with fun music and friendly boaters. Weekdays are a little quieter than weekends on the sandbar, and our backcountry mangrove island tours are a nice, quiet alternative when the sandbar is too busy for your group. The choice is yours.

In the winter, more snowbirds move into the sandbar – not overly concerned with the cooler water and air. Many of our guests choose to go directly to the sandbar for a good reason, skipping other activities offered by Key Largo Adventures, such as snorkeling.

Website photos very thoroughly depict the varieties of fun for all ages in what is annually voted as the Florida Keys’ “Hottest Spot.” Guests may lounge on the boat or use our variety of floats provided. Or, on the sandbar, you may choose to float or sit on the sandbar – commonly with a cold drink (of your choice) in hand. Adults and children alike may take the paddle board or a kayak for a scenic ride or the paddle boards across the grassy flats, full of sea life, in and around Islamorada’s Sandbar.

The mangrove islands do not offer a beach or sandbar. However, the day usually is spent using snorkel masks, paddle board/kayak, floating chairs, and listening to music on the boat. It’s a great day with a natural, quiet feeling, making a great location for viewing wildlife, paddling, having lunch/drinks, and taking photos.

There is a sunny area at the bow (front) of each boat and shade provided by the boat’s top or umbrella. Its great to get sun or read a book, or just kick back and relax. Your own lunch and drinks may be served in the comfort of the boat, a floating chair, or on our versatile paddleboard…tough choice!

Snorkel at one of Islamorada’s many beautiful shallow water reefs, with depths between 8-20 feet. Choice of reef location will depend on a number of factors and can include Cheeca Rocks, Alligator Lighthouse or others, dependent upon captain’s choice, visibility and weather conditions.
