JJ Lin to hold his first world tour in three years

SINGAPORE - Home-grown singer JJ Lin has whetted fans' appetite after he shared a poster of his upcoming concert tour on social media on Tuesday (July 12).

The 41-year-old wrote: "It's official. We have a world tour to announce. Here's a first look at the JJ Lin World Tour concert poster."

He referred to the likely stops on his tour when he wrote: "Singapore, Taipei, Kuala Lumpur, North America, Europe and Australia... Are you ready?"

He added that more details will be released soon.

Some of Lin's fans in mainland China reacted to the news with both happiness and sadness, as they noted that China was not mentioned. This was possibly due to the country's strict Covid-19 restrictions.

Lin dropped hints of his tour in May when he posted on social media a poster with the words "JJ Lin JJ20 World Tour 2022 coming soon", without further elaboration.

He made his debut in 2003 with the studio album Music Voyager and has since launched 14 albums, with his latest album Drifter • Like You Do, released in October 2020.

His last major in-person gighere was the Sanctuary 2.0 World Tour show at Singapore's National Stadium in December 2019.

He held the Sanctuary Finale Virtual Concert in July 2021 and two After The Rain charity live specials at Marina Bay Sands in November 2021.

From sold-out shows to additional concert dates, the highly anticipated JJ Lin Sanctuary World Tour in Singapore kicked off its first show on Wednesday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. JJ Lin, who performed back in home ground after three years, couldn’t hide his excitement when delivering the three-and-a-half hour show packed with classic hits.

JJ continued the show with a few newer dance tracks to heat things up. After a change of costume, he came back on stage and performed some older tracks like ‘Westside’ and ‘Raindrops’ with the accompaniment of an erhu.

When a piano rose up on stage, the crowd seemed to know that it’ll be expecting a series of series of classic hits to sing along to. And as we all guessed, JJ played the piano and delivered some old goodies such as ‘She Says’ , ‘Remember’ and ‘Sarang Haeyo’ for fans to sing along to. His live performance of ‘Practice Love ’ absolutely showcased his vocals live and proved his reputation as a “walking CD” right.

Although the stage setup for this concert was simple, the visual projections and stage effects did a great job of enhancing the entire concert experience. It was a visual treat, especially during ‘53 Dawns’ . With modern dance and visual projections which created a black-versus-white imagery, the stage performance accentuated the emotional tunes and hit us just right in our hearts. 

The absolute climax of Wednesday’s show was no doubt when JJ decided to have a singing battle among the fans. He split the audience into two teams - Team Hainanese Chicken Rice and Team Bak Kut Teh and each team took turns to sing over Charlene Choi’s verse in the hit duet ‘Dimples’ . 

Apart from the tracks well-loved by all audience, JJ also brought back some older dance tracks like ‘Tomorrow’ and ‘Killer’ . He even showed off some dance moves during ‘High Fashion’ , ‘You N Me’ and ‘Own The Day’ .

Performing back at home, a number of his friends turned up for the concert. JJ even cheekily pointed out local singer Kit Chan was sitting among the audience; their brief interaction showed their close friendship and made fans laugh. 

It was truly a night to remember – we will hold that night in our memory forever.

JJ Lin’s concert world tour is officially making a comeback in 2022 

2022 really is the year that keeps on giving. Concerts are finally making a comeback, and adding on to the mix is Singapore’s very own JJ Lin , who recently announced his upcoming concert world tour on social media.

The singer-songwriter last performed here in November 2021, holding a charity concert titled JJ Lin “After The Rain” A Charity Live Special. 

At the time of writing, details about his concert world tour have yet to be released, but it’s safe to assume that this will probably be a celebration for JJ Lin, as he is hitting his 20-year milestone in the music industry. The name JJ20 World Tour 2022 speaks for itself, but the announcement itself was merely a teaser of what fans can expect. Why so vague , JJ? 

Additionally, if you think this concert sounds familiar, that’s because Mandopop King Jay Chou also recently announced his 20-year anniversary concert world tour, which will similarly be held in Singapore. 

I’ve been an avid listener of Mandopop since my MSN days, and I’m really stoked just thinking about being able to sway along and belt out my favourite hits of all-time like Jiang Nan and Doujiang Youtiao with everyone in the concert halls when the long-awaited day finally arrives. 

To hype up the upcoming concert world tour, the singer has also captioned his social media posts with # roadtoJJ20 , so make sure to keep an eye on the hashtag if you want first dibs on all the latest details. 

So far, only the promotional poster is out so it might be best to keep a lookout online for the release of important information like dates and ticket prices. The #roadtoJJ20 may be a long one, but I can hardly wait.

Home-grown singer JJ Lin will kick off his world tour in Singapore with two concerts at the National Stadium on Nov 4 and 5.

The 41-year-old posted details of the first three legs of the JJ Lin JJ20 World Tour on Instagram on Monday (July 25) evening.

After the Singapore stop, he will perform in Taoyuan City in Taiwan on Dec 3 and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia on Dec 18.

Ticketing details were not revealed, although he also said he will be in North America, Europe and Australia in 2023.

Earlier this month, he had posted a teaser for the highly anticipated concert tour by sharing its poster on social media , but without releasing the dates at the time.

His last major in-person gig in Singapore was the Sanctuary 2.0 World Tour show at the National Stadium in December 2019.

JJ Lin has announced a second spring London show for his JJ20 World Tour.

Due to demand, the Mandopop star will follow-up his sold-out show at OVO Arena Wembley on April 30 with another performance at the venue the following day (May 1). Tickets for the new date go on general sale at 1pm tomorrow (February 10).

JJ Lin recently released a new EP, 'JJ's Bloom n' Tunes, Vol. 2'. He also has upoming tour dates lined up in North America and Australia prior to his UK visit.

Kuala Lumpur, December 2022- It was a great night at Bukit Jalil National Stadium as JJ Lin 林俊杰 has made a return to Malaysia with his 2022 JJ Lin "JJ20" World Tour Malaysia. The concert drew approximately 30,000 people, and JJ Lin performed for three hours, including many of his classic songs! In addition to that, the show also featured prominent guests artistes’ performances.

The concert began with the first act of the show, "Memories  记忆 ," which featured a video presentation that blended his footage with an animated version of him. During this segment, he has performed memorable songs such as  “ 记得 ” ， ” 木乃伊 ” ， ” 美人鱼 ” ， ” 茉莉雨 ” and “ 醉赤壁 ”.

Following this segment, JJ Lin greeted fans and informed them that the 18th of December 2022 is a good day because the World Cup Finale falls on the same day too.  He promised to make the fans' night unforgettable.

Following that, he proceeded with the performance of “ 关键词 ”. JJ continued to captivate fans with  “ 豆浆油条 ” and “ 小酒窝 ”  after a video presentation touching on "Dream" with a mix of his own footage and an anime version of him. He performed these two songs on acoustic guitar, giving them a completely different interpretation! This was a dream come true for the fans who had been waiting for his return to Malaysia for so long.

JJ then interacted with the fans again before proceeding with another few of his amazing songs " 当你 ", " 那些你很冒险的梦 " and " 因你而在 " 。

He asked the fans to sing along if they knew the lyrics. Well, of course, it was not a difficult tasks for the fans. He also took his time to greet all of his fans who came from all around the globe. A lot of fans actually brought along LED board to support their idol! Worth mentioning is, during the performance for this segment, there was "Strings" orchestra backing the music. It was like a full-course concert with orchestra and JJ Lin's incredible LIVE vocal! During " 因你而在 " JJ even invited his backing singers to the front of the stage to perform with him!

Another video presentation touching on "Universe" took over the stage before JJ went for another costume change. During this segment, he performed “ 新地球 ” ， “ 子弹列车 ” ， ”Wonderland” and “While I can” while on a storeys high platform with techno background scenes. He then delivered another breathtaking performance of “ 不存在的情人 ” .

JJ then delivered an emotional speech about how we should all stay strong and fight negativity. Then he performed “ 黑夜问白天 ” ， ” 无尽的思念 ”,“ 交换余生 ”,”Lose Control”, “Like You Do”,” 不死之身 ”,” 我还想她 ”,” 最好是 ” and “ 西界 ”.

JJ Lin then continue to amuse the fans with his piano skills. During this segment, he provided a key and asked the fans to guess his songs. Uns urprisingly, the audience correctly identified the song as soon as they heard the key. During this section, he has performed ”Love U U”, “ 可惜没如果 ” and “ 爱笑的眼睛 ” ！

JJ then welcomed guest artist Patti 蔡宥綺 , the first JFJ new singer, onto the stage to perform “ 亲爱的的陌生人 ”  alongside him! JJ Lin and Patti both mentioned how welcoming Malaysian fans are! JJ then remembered his time as Ah Du's 阿杜  assistant. JJ mentioned that he is currently preparing songs for Patti.

After the collaboration performance with Patti, JJ proceeded with another two songs “ 幸存者 ” and “ 修炼爱情 ” . During middle of the performance of " 修炼爱情 ", a surprising guest artist made an appearance. The guest artist was Jackson Wang 王嘉尔  who just had his concert a day prior. They both sang  “ 过 (Should've Let Go)”  on stage for the first time!

He then continued to perform “ 将故事写成我们 ” and “ 江南 ”. After these two songs, JJ took his time to thank the guests artistes, the concert crews and the audience. He also thanked his mother, who was in the audience that night.  He also took the time to thank the musician Eric Lin 林秋离 who recently passed away. Eric Lin 林秋离  has collaborated with him on many songs, including 江南 , 曹操 , 殺手 and 新地球 . He then proceeded with " 不为谁而作的歌 " before another intermission video footage being shown.

He then returned to the stage to perform the final few songs, which included  “7 千 3 百多天 ”, “ 不潮不用花钱 ”, “ 最向往的地方 ”, “ 伟大的渺小 ”,“ 一定会 ” and lastly “ 一千年以后 ”.

It was a really amazing concert packed with long list of JJ Lin's songs and it's definitely an ultimate treat for the fans. In 2023,  JJ Lin will continue his tour to North America, Europe, and Australia.

2022 年即將邁入尾聲， JJ 林俊傑《 JJ20 》世界巡迴演唱會 — 吉隆坡站 (18/12/22) 於武吉加里爾體育場正式開唱，相隔 3 年再與馬來西亞樂迷見面， JJ 不僅將多首經典曲目重新編曲，更演唱近年推出的新歌一次滿足現場近 30,000 位樂迷；此外，他一樣毫無保留帶來《 JJ20 》完整舞台，從開場絢麗的水晶鋼琴到現場令人震撼的舞台、燈光及視覺， JJ 將這 3 年積蓄的能量一次釋放，讓觀眾再一次見證 JJ 的舞台進化！令人驚喜的是，昨晚 Jackson Wang 王嘉爾竟無預警擔任嘉賓，兩人更合體演唱曾合作的單曲 — 〈過 (Should've Let Go) 〉，一登場即全場暴動；兩人也將私下逗趣的互動搬上舞台，好交情由此可見一斑，也為演唱會再創一波高潮。

《 JJ20 》世界巡迴演唱會由 JJ 一手親自策劃，演唱會以「記憶」、「夢境」、「宇宙」、「完整」及「路程」五大主題呈現，每個段落皆對應了歌曲的概念與故事，也將《 JJ20 》所想傳遞的概念更加立體、具象化。從開場的「記憶」以〈記得〉開場，喚醒大家回憶中最經典的那首「林俊傑」；緊接著，主題「夢境」則充滿甜蜜氛圍，從〈小酒窩〉、〈豆漿油條〉到〈當你〉，一切都有如夢那般美好；「宇宙」則帶領觀眾搭上〈子彈列車〉穿梭到〈新地球〉，視覺也瞬間充滿未來及科技感；「完整」則是選唱多首經典抒情歌，用各種形式的「愛」完整、豐富人生；最後的「路途」則將眼光放到更遠的未來，也像是在與樂迷們約定下一次的見面，所選唱〈偉大的渺小〉〈一定會〉及〈一千年以後〉都蘊藏著 JJ 想與歌迷們說的感謝與想念。

在 演唱會上， JJ 也再一次將年度 JFJ 有史以來的第一位新人－ Patti 蔡宥綺 介紹給馬來西亞的觀眾們，並讓 Patti 演唱未發行的新歌〈親愛的陌生人〉。對舞台越來越熟悉的 Patti ，隨著一次次的演出變得越來越沈穩，演出後更獲現場一致好評。 JJ 也當場以「師兄」之姿訪問 Patti 的心情， Patti 笑說：「這裡也是我第二次來，不過上一次是因為《聖所 2.0 》，來幫你按提詞機的！」令 JJ 因此回顧自己過去曾是 阿杜 的音樂助理的日子，更想起新人時期到馬來西亞坐著麵包車到各城市跑簽唱的時光，如今他很珍惜所擁有的舞台以及每一次和大家的見面，也以自己的經驗鼓勵 Patti 繼續努力。此外， JJ 更驚喜透露除了在寫自己的新歌之外，同時正在製作 Patti 的全新專輯，敬請大家期待。

而昨晚《 JJ20 》也無預警的獻上驚喜！當演唱〈修煉愛情〉接近尾聲時，突然間 JJ 身邊多了一位「神秘嘉賓」；竟是前一日 (12/17) 同樣在吉隆坡開唱的 Jackson Wang 王嘉爾！當王嘉爾一出場，全場瞬間歡聲雷動；而 JJ 與王嘉爾的好交情眾所周知，這次兩人更充滿緣分的分別在 17 、 18 號各自在吉隆坡開唱，當時消息一出，其實早就有歌迷敲碗希望能看見彼此出現在對方的演唱會上，沒想到 JJ 在前一天先是在社群貼出了與王嘉爾 4 年前、 4 年後的合照，昨晚更在演唱會現場默默的幫大家圓了這個夢！

而王嘉爾一上台即搞笑戴上工作證，笑說自己剛才就是這樣光明正大的走進現場，並表示：「哥辦演唱會，弟當然要來。」 JJ 配合度滿分回說：「我還在想說你是怎麼進來的，我還已經跟他們說你不來了！」接著 JJ 又提到：「好難得我們可以同時在一個地方、還同時出現在這個舞台上，我們是好朋友有段時間了，但這是你第一次出現在我的演唱會！」而這難得的同台， JJ 也與王嘉爾首度合唱兩人先前的合作曲〈過 (Should've Let Go) 〉，再創《 JJ20 》經典現場。

演唱會接近尾聲， JJ 感性的提到在這 20 年間，每個因為音樂所相遇的人、事、物，都讓他格外珍惜，也因為有這樣難得的緣分，他一直以來都把握著每個與大家相處及見面的時光。 JJ 也在演唱會特別感謝在音樂路上對他至關重要的林秋離老師， JJ 說道：「他曾經跟我說：『 JJ ，你在現實生活中是個長不大的孩子，但是在音樂世界裡，你可以非常的瀟灑、可以角色扮演、可以當個英雄。』於是我們一起完成了很多經典作品，如〈 江南〉、〈曹操〉、〈殺手〉、〈新地球〉 等等；他是我在音樂領域的英雄；雖然老師在 12/12 離開了我們，但我會繼續努力，期許自己不要辜負他，林老師我會想你。」語畢音樂響起， JJ 90 度鞠躬好一陣，接著唱合作的〈不為誰而作的歌〉，間中數度哽咽，讓台下觀眾萬分不捨。

演唱會最後， JJ 則以〈一千年以後〉為演唱會劃下句點。《 JJ20 》世界巡迴演唱會接著將在 2023 年前往美加、歐洲 ... 等各地城市演出。

Fans Rush To Buy Tickets To JJ Lin’s Chengdu Concert, Only To End Up With Passes To George Lam’s Show

We’ve heard many stories of fans falling for ticket scams , but now it seems you have to be careful when buying from official ticketing platforms too.

Mandopop star JJ Lin recently announced the schedule for his JJ20 World Tour   for the first half of 2024.

When tickets went on sale on Jan 12, Chinese fans rushed to snag passes to his Chengdu shows on March 9 and 10.

However, many were shocked to receive tickets to Hong Kong singer George Lam ’s show on Mar 13 instead.

When they tried to get a refund, their request was rejected.

Many disgruntled netizens took to Weibo to express their frustration, accusing ticketing platform Damai of mishandling ticket sales.

When contacted by the media, Damai said it had verified the system and found no errors .

Instead, it  said fans were probably too anxious and selected the wrong option during purchase.

However, n etizens claim Damai was out to mislead fans.

According to fans, there was a JJ20 World Tour thumbnail on the homepage of the app which you could click to purchase tickets.

But if you look closely, at the top right hand corner is a line in small font that states  “George Lam Chengdu”. 

Many felt this was a ticket trap and insisted that there was no way they would have made a mistake.

Furthermore, it is  not the first time this has happened.

“Previously, I was also taken to [the page of] another singer whose surname is Lin," said one fan, while another wrote: " It has nothing to do with which singer’s [tickets I received]. It is Damai who is not doing its job and doesn’t respect fans and singers."
