History [ ]

Founded in 2001 by Linkin Park and Jessica Sklar, the Linkin Park Underground allows fans of Linkin Park to share their passion for the band. Each year, a new membership package is released. In its first year, the LPU gave away a re-issued Hybrid Theory EP as a gift for signing up. The first 500 members of the LPU received a signed copy of the EP as a thank you from the band. Until January 31 2005, there was a forum allowing fans to trade and sell LP merchandise. It was however closed after difficulties with several members.

In September 2005, a similar fan club called Fort Minor Militia was created for Mike Shinoda 's hip-hop project, Fort Minor . The first 100 people to join had the DVD that was included with their first album, The Rising Tied , as well as other merchandise, signed by Shinoda.

Since then, the LPU had undergone some major website changes, and is currently in its 22nd year. Each year sees a release of a unique CD, T-shirt and other goodies for that year.

Discography [ ]

Underground v1.0 [ ].

This was the first LP Underground album, released in 2001. It was a re-issue of the Hybrid Theory EP , with the same tracklist.

This album was recorded in 1999, after Xero dismantled and Chester Bennington joined the band, at this point called "Hybrid Theory", making the disc a self-titled album. In 1999, Linkin Park pressed 1000 copies of the EP, (the original copies) and the re-release in 2001 had several changes to the album artwork and text, making it extremely less valuable. Because of this, Linkin Park individually hand-signed the first 500 copies of the re-release.

Underground v2.0 [ ]

On November 18, 2002, the second year of the Linkin Park Underground was launched. The second fan club package was shipped to members and included an exclusive, six-track EP entitled LP Underground 2.0 . This EP cannot be purchased in stores.

Underground v3.0 [ ]

The third album was released on November 17, 2003. The third fan club package was shipped to members and included an exclusive, five-track EP entitled LP Underground 3.0 . The CD also contained enhanced content. This EP cannot be purchased in stores. All tracks were recorded live during the Summer Sanitarium Tour 2003, either in Houston or Dallas, TX.

These tracks are a compliment to the 2003 release of Live in Texas , and to these tracks (and the Live in Texas album tracks) are available on the Live in Texas DVD. It was issued one day before Live In Texas was released.

Underground v6.0 [ ]

Shortly after LP Underground 6.0 was announced it was leaked onto the Internet. The CD includes a studio demo version of "Qwerty" (which may have been recorded to compromise for it not appearing on Minutes to Midnight). "Qwerty" contains a heavier guitar riff than previous songs, and includes Chester screaming a lot harder than before. Also, a new instrumental song called "Announcement Service Public". The title suggests that it came from Jay-Z's Public Service Announcement , hinting that if reversed, there will be a subliminal message. Chester can be heard saying, "You should brush your teeth, and you should wash your hands" when the track is played in reverse. It is equal in length to Session.

It was sold at Best Buy on December 5 2006 while supplies lasted. A different limited edition package is being sold at every Projekt Revolution show and the cover is red as opposed to green. However, all the content is the same.

  • " Announcement Service Public " – 2:24

MMM...COOKIES - Sweet Hamster Like Jewels from America! is the eighth Fan Club Album[1] released by Linkin Park to the fan club members of the Linkin Park Underground (LPU). The official release date was December 4, 2008, though the album was mistakenly released on November 29, 2008 in the United States at some Best Buy stores.

Regarding the CD, Shinoda has told fans on the LPU message board;

In previous years, we've released LPU CDs that contain b-sides, live tracks, and lesser-known songs from the band. This year, we have decided to do something totally unprecedented and unexpected. The LPU8 CD contains six totally new, original studio songs that Chester and I recorded in our free time in the past couple of years. But these aren't normal Linkin Park songs. Working on a song for an album is sometimes a lot of work, and occasionally we need some time to unwind. When Chester and I unwind, sometimes we make another kind of lighter, fun song. We call these songs "cookies." I think came from the idea that you get your dessert (your cookies) after you eat all the rest of your meal. The songs on the LPU8 CD are random, silly, and they fall into a variety of styles, from a James-Brown-Meets-Bobby-McFerrin track called "You Ain't Gotsta Gotsta" to a mock electro-club-banger called "26 Lettaz In Da Alphabet."

1. " You Ain't Gotsa Gotsa " 0:58 2. " Bubbles " 2:22 3. " No Laundry " 0:57 4. " Da Bloos " 1:17 5. " PBN' Jellyfish " 1:55 6. " 26 Lettaz in da Alphabet " 3:34

The ninth release saw the release of previously unreleased demos from the Hybrid Theory , Meteora , and Minutes to Midnight sessions, including the now completed "Japan" demo, now renamed "Across the Line". The Best Buy edition only shipped with a large T-shirt, so all other orders needed to be asked for on the LPU website or by mail order. Vinyl editions came with the Premier package, the first 1,000 of which were numbered and the band and staff received copies 1 through 21.

Meaning of One Step Closer - Live LP Underground Tour 2003 by Linkin Park

"One Step Closer" by Linkin Park, particularly the live version from the LP Underground Tour in 2003, explores themes of frustration, anger, and the desire for escape. The song expresses a sense of being overwhelmed by external pressures and the impact of others' words and actions. Let's delve into the meaning behind the lyrics.

The opening lines of the song establish a sense of urgency and energy, encouraging listeners to get up and be ready. The repeated phrase "Come on!" reflects the need to confront a challenge or frustration head-on.

In the first verse, the lyrics express a feeling of being worn down by repetition and the sense that words are losing their meaning. The protagonist finds comfort or peace in not fully understanding or engaging with what others are saying. Ignorance becomes a form of bliss, allowing for temporary respite from the chaos around them.

The pre-chorus suggests that this experience is not new. Whatever situation the protagonist finds themselves in and the frustrations they face, it feels like a recurring pattern.

The chorus is the most memorable and repeated part of the song. It reveals the central theme of how the protagonist's interactions with others, specifically the things they say, push them closer to a breaking point. The repetition of "One step closer to the edge and I'm about to break" emphasizes the building tension and the impending sense of reaching a breaking point.

The second verse continues to explore the struggle to find clarity and escape from confusing thoughts. The lyrics portray a desire to disappear but the inability to do so. The protagonist feels trapped in a cycle where nothing seems to go away, further contributing to the mounting frustration.

The bridge introduces a more intense and aggressive tone. The lyrics describe a dissociative feeling, as if torn from one's own body. The reference to cutting up what they like suggests a rebellious desire to take control and break free from the emotional pain. The mention of blood pouring and the repeated line "Shut up when I'm talking to you!" reflects an outpouring of anger and a plea for others to take their pain seriously.

Overall, "One Step Closer" conveys a sense of being overwhelmed, frustrated, and pushed to the breaking point by external pressures. The desire for escape and the anger directed towards those who contribute to their emotional burden are central themes in this song. It serves as an emotional outlet for the frustrations many individuals face, resonating with listeners looking for catharsis in their own struggles.

One of Linkin Park’s heaviest songs is now available to stream for the first time ever

Despite being a fan favourite recorded in 2006, the track has never before made it to streaming services

Linkin Park - Meteora

Linkin Park released their new compilation album Papercuts: Singles Collection (2000–2023) today (April 12), and it contains an ultra-heavy song that was previously unavailable to stream.

The track in question, Qwerty , was originally recorded during the sessions for the nu metal stars’ third studio album Minutes To Midnight in 2006.

The band performed the song live during a 2006 tour of Japan, then released studio and live versions of it on the LP Underground 6.0 EP on December 5 of that year.

However, Qwerty never made it onto streaming services until today.

Papercuts is Linkin Park’s first-ever career-spanning greatest hits album and contains such standouts as Crawling , Bleed It Out , One More Light and Jay-Z collaboration Numb/Encore .

The compilation also contains the song Friendly Fire , which was recorded for the band’s 2017 album One More Light but remained unreleased until February this year.

Upon the announcement of Papercuts , vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Mike Shinoda commented: “In the making of each Linkin Park album, I want to love and believe in each individual song completely.

“I hope that if any one track is heard on its own in the world, it is something I can feel proud of, and something that takes root inside the listener and becomes part of the energy that connects us.”

He continued: “Curating the tracks for Papercuts was a joy.

“Each song in this collection is both a singular moment on our timeline and an evolving story that is as much ours as it is yours. From our first release One Step Closer to the brand-new Friendly Fire , this tracklist spans all our chapters so far.

“Thank you for being a part of our journey. We hope you enjoy Papercuts .”

Linkin Park’s lead vocalist, Chester Bennington , passed away in July 2017, shortly after the release of One More Light , aged 41.

Bar a tribute concert in October 2017, the band haven’t performed live or released a new studio album since.

Earlier this month, Jay Gordon of US industrial rockers Orgy, who previously collaborated with Linkin Park, sparked rumours that the band would be reactivating with a female lead singer in Bennington’s place.

He told Wired In The Empire : “It’s going to be tough without Chester, but we’ll see. I hear they got a girl singer now. That’s what I heard.”

Gordon later retracted these claims via social media.

“With regards to this linkin park singer thing,” he posted on Facebook, “I know nothing about any of that. People sure do love to take my words out of context.

“I love those guys and wish them the best.

“Wow I was like what in the actual f**k? I said nothing about knowing any of that and never brought it up. I love Chester and there will never be another him ever.

“Strange that that dude [interviewer Mike Z] said something to me about it not the other way around. get real dude. Not cool!”

Despite Gordon’s claim of his interviewer “[saying] something to me about it”, the singer made the comment about Bennington’s alleged replacement unprompted.

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

Moscow metro tour: architectural styles of the subway.

lp underground tour

Duration: 2 hours

Categories: Culture & History, Sightseeing

This metro tour of Russia’s capital and most populous city, Moscow, is your chance to get a unique insight into the beautiful and impressive architecture of the city's underground stations. Admire their marble walls and high ceilings representing Stalin's desire for glory after World War 2, and see first-hand how the interiors change with the rise of new political eras. Your guide will lead you through the complex network, which is one of the most heavily used rapid transit systems worldwide, with over two billion travelers in 2011.

Opened in 1935, Moscow’s underground system, now 190 miles (305 km) long with 185 stations, is today one the largest and most heavily used rapid transit systems in the world. On this Moscow metro tour, discover the impressive architecture of Moscow’s underground stations and learn how they reflect the Soviet era.

Getting around by metro, your local guide will take you through parts of Moscow’s infamous history. Stop at stations built during the time of the USSR (Soviet Union) that are praised as one of the most extravagant architectural projects from Stalin’s time. After World War 2, he was keen on establishing Stalinist architecture to represent his rising regime and a recognized empire. Learn how when his successor started the de-Stalinization of the former Soviet Union in 1953, the extravagancy of the architecture was toned down.

Discover how the unique character of each station reflected several different eras. While stations like Kievskaya and Slavyansky Bulvar have pompous halls and high stucco ceilings brimming with extravagant decorations, those built later, like Volzhskaya, are lightly adorned with sparse furnishings. Architect Alexey Dushkin and painter Alexander Deyneka were just two of the many artists who made these magnificent landmarks possible.

Revel in Moscow's glory days, as well as the years of scarcity, on this fascinating Moscow metro experience. Conclude your tour at one of the central stations in Moscow. If you're lucky, you may even find the secret entrance to the unconfirmed Metro-2, a parallel underground system used by the government -- a mystery which has neither been denied nor confirmed today.

Culture Shock Rating

We have a wide range of tours designed to give you an insight into the destination you're travelling in and there is something for everybody. The culture shock ratings considers the destination visited, transport used, activities undertaken and that "Wow, I'm really not at home now!" factor. While generalisations are always tricky, a summary of our gradings is as follows…

This is the least confronting of our tour range. Transport used on the trip is either private or a very comfortable public option, the activities included are usually iconic sites and locations that are not all too confronting.

The tour can include a mix of private and public transport providing a level of comfort that is slightly below what you would experience at home. Sites visited are usually iconic sites, tours can also include market visits, visits to communities etc that provide the traveller with a fantastic insight into destination.

Expect to rough it for parts of this tour, whether it's a packed public bus where you are forced to stand, a visit to a local market, a local community, you are sure to have an experience that is very different from what you're used to at home.

The comforts of your home town and the environment you are used to are more of a rarity. Expect some challenging transport options, visits to local sites and areas that don't resemble anything at home.

You're out there in the global community! You are likely to be exposed to the elements, travel in whatever means of transport is available and basically take it as it comes, whatever comes! It can be tough.

Physical Rating

Our physical rating gives you an idea of how much huffing and puffing you can expect on the tour. While generalisations are always tricky, a summary of our gradings is as follows…

These tours have very limited physical activity. Usually climbing in and out of the transport provided, walking through sites, markets etc included in the itinerary.

These tours have a bit of physical activity but nothing that should challenge you too much. This could be climbing on and off public transport through to a walk through the destination you're travelling in, they can include walking only tours or a combination of walking and transport.

These tours involve a bit of physical activity from walking up and down hills in the destination you're travelling in or the surrounding areas. Climbing on and off local transport or riding a bike up to 30 kms along predominantly flat terrain or jumping in a kayak for a gentle paddle on flat water.

These Tours will provide you with some solid physical activity. Whether its bike riding, walking, trekking, kayaking or riding on public transport you will need to have a good level of fitness to enjoy this tour.

Be prepared for some serious physical activity. These tours are our most challenging and involve some serious walking, hiking or bike riding. Can involve step climbs by foot or pedal and some challenging public transport options in the destination you are travelling.

Luxury Rating

Some trips are like a stroll on the beach, while others have you trekking alpine passes. Some of you thrive on camping out on the savannah, while others may prefer a hot shower and a comfortable bed in a lodge. Follow the grading systems below to find the right trip for you.

To help you choose the trip that's right for you, we've broken all of our trips down into four service levels. Measuring the comfort level of the accommodation and transport. So whether you're travelling on a budget and want to save money by using public transport, or prefer upgraded accommodation and are happy to pay a little more, then we have a level for you.

LP Underground 7

LP Underground 7 is the seventh EP release from Linkin Park, as well as the seventh album released to their fanclub, the Linkin Park Underground (LPU). The EP features ten live recordings from the band's tour for Minutes To Midnight in 2007. It was released alongside the launch of LPU 7 on December 5, 2007, tying it with LP Underground 6.0 as the latest releases (into the year) among LPU releases.

Writing and Recording

The live performances found on this record are taken from several shows along the band's Projekt Revolution 2007 Tour. " No More Sorrow " and " In The End " come from the tour's stop in Toronto, Ontario . " What I've Done " is taken from the band's performance in Hartford, Connecticut . " One Step Closer " comes from the show in Syracuse, New York . " Given Up " is taken from the show in West Palm Beach, Florida . " Numb " was performed in Woodlands, Texas . Both " Crawling " and " Faint " are taken from the tour's stop in Holmdel, New Jersey . " The Little Things Give You Away " is taken from the show in Atlanta, Georgia , and " Bleed It Out " is taken from the stop in Raleigh, North Carolina .

The band was releasing DSPs ( Digital Souvenir Packages ) starting on this tour, meaning fans could buy and download audio recordings of the shows they attended a few days after the show. The mixes of these songs are the same mixes found on the DSPs for their respective shows, though with slight editing done (fade ins, fade outs, censoring, and so on).

Composition

A poll was held on the LP Underground website in late September for fans to pick their favorite songs from the Projekt Revolution Tour 2007 . The tracklist of the CD is composed of the most voted songs. [1]

The songs on this EP release are live, originally being released on Hybrid Theory , Meteora , and that year's latest release, Minutes To Midnight . Some of the performances features live-exclusive extended portions that aren't part of the studio versions: "No More Sorrow" features its long show-opener intro, "One Step Closer" features Gunshot Intro #1 that would open either the show or encore (it opened the encore in the performance it was taken from), "Numb" features a short portion of its piano outro (cut off by editing), "The Little Things Give You Away" features its piano intro, "Bleed It Out" features an extended intro, extended bridge featuring a sing-a-long and drum solo, and its Slow > Fast outro, and "Faint" features its extended outro.

There are a bunch of ad-lib moments included in the release, too, including Chester's short speech before "Crawling" and Mike's crowd interaction at the final chorus of "Bleed It Out". The EP is censored, so there are portions where the vocals or speaking are muted.

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

Red marble walls of some of the Metro stations hide in themselves petrified inhabitants of ancient seas. Try and find some!

  • Every day each car in  Moscow metro passes  more than 600 km, which is the distance from Moscow to St. Petersburg.
  • Moscow subway system is the  5th in the intensity  of use (after the subways of Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul and Shanghai).
  • The interval in the movement of trains in rush hour is  90 seconds .

Dua Lipa started planning third album before her debut was finished

Share with :.

Dua Lipa was planning her third album before her debut.

The 'Illusion' hitmaker is set to drop new LP 'Radical Optimism' on May 3, and the idea of the record being produced by Tame Impala's Kevin Parker goes back to before she finished work on her 2017 self titled LP.

Dua, 28, told Time100 magazine: "I remember when I was working on my first album, I was making notes on what my third album was going to be.

"It's mad to think about, but I remember speaking to my close friend and A+R Joe, 'Maybe album three, I could work with Kevin Parker', and he was like, 'Alright, hold your horses, let's take baby steps.' "

However, Dua was already full of ambition and was planning for her first two albums to prove she was "deserving to be in a room" with someone respects "so deeply".

She added: "Since I was very little, I've jotted down things I dreamt for myself. I've always planned ahead.

"Although surprises arise that I evaluate in the moment, there's always been a long-term goal."

She is a big believer in "manifesting" your goals, and she encouraged people to write their dreams down to help make them come true.

She explained: "It's important to just write things down, you never know what could come true. Manifesting is a big thing for me.

"Subconsciously, you just work towards them. Nothing's too big."

The singer and actress has evolved as an artist and person since her debut seven years ago, and her latest single is an example of that development.

Dua - who was named by Time100 as one of the most influential people in the world - noted she is "definitely not the same person" as she was when she wrote her first record.

She said: "I've evolved and learned so much, taking it as it comes, not seeing anything as bad or something as a setback.

"That involves a lot of growing and understanding myself, knowing my worth, whether it be in business, love, or friendship."
