Mayday's recent collaboration with rapper Murs has been one of the most soulful combinations in recent hip hop history. Mayday has this ingenious style that feels like a mix of old school hip hop with rhythmic drum patterns and ensemble vocal lines - they execute their music perfectly, and the addition of Murs has given them an even more engaging street sound.
Seeing them perform with Murs at Colorado Springs a few days ago felt like the beginning of a new era for the group. They were pumped about the new combination, and their music was even better than the grassroots sound they had been showcasing earlier on in their career. What feels great about Mayday is their relaxed attitude to their fans - they talked to the crowd, joked around about the way one girl was screaming in support, they chatted about how great it was to be working with Murs.
They're just some guys looking to create some awesome tunes, and they know it. They've had some amazing experiences with artists like Lil Wayne and Tech N9ne, with a fan base that grows after every hit track, most recently, and notably, 'Badlands'. They keep proving that their music has what it takes to make it big.

Mayday! Had the best energy on stage at the Varsity Theater in Baton Rouge, La on 4/20!! They had live instruments. The congas and bongos gave the show an awesome Miami feel! Then after the show, I met Bernz walking through the crowd, and then I got to speak to Wrekonize and nonMS while just chilling outside of the Varsity. It was cool as hell we hung out like regular people just talking and exchanging positive energy. They were stoked that I actually knew their music. It was an awesome experience!
I had the pleasure of going to both Denver shows, Mayday was awesome. Friday night they did an amazing job, good sound and an amazing performance. Saturday night was even better, MAYDAY opened the show.
I can say that as hype men, they did an amazing job setting the stage for the upcoming artist's. I have been to a few Tech N9NE shows, and the weekend at the fillmore was great.
We gone to Denver, with our family to !mayday!, took granddaughter, we all love you mayday, watched your live stream. Was fabulous, we all had so much fun, got to meet one ton, got to meet D.U. Ivan as well, wow scored took pictures. You well have a great time, when y'alls go see mayday in concert. Love you guys, hang in there.
Another rip roarin' performance from this incredible band of talented guys from Miami.
It is impossible to stay still from the minute they hit the stage till the minute they leave.
You always want more and their sound is unique and polished!
Cannot wait to see them again!
Best hip hop band in the biz.
MAYDAY ALL DAY!!!!
Of course I will give a great review because Wrekonize is my son, but I truly love the sound of Mayday and listen to them on a regular basis.
Seeing them live on stage is a wonderful and uplifting experience that truly leaves the fans energized and wanting more
got into the venue at 7:30 and watched some good performers and some not so good performers and finally mayday went on after 6 songs the band left because of a fight that happened most of the people that attended the concert were pretty angry
Honestly, the best live performance you'll ever see. I haven't missed a single ¡Mayday! show over the last three years, and each one gets better everytime. I might be biased considering I got a shout out from Wrek while he was on stage tho!!
Show was DOPE!!!! MAYDAY KILLED IT. GREAT MEMORIES AND YOU CAN'T BEAT FRONT ROW. Always love seeing Strange Artist. If you don't know Mayday you need tp wake the hell up and get with the program
Great show, small crowd but looked like it could quiet a few people. good looking bar, laid back staff, bartender was cool. Had a blast, Would definitely go to this venue again.

After a whirlwind year that saw them releasing their explosive ‘Mayday’ EP and a new cover of Metallica’s classic “Enter Sandman” with singer-songwriter Alessia Cara , Monterrey Mexico hard rock sister trio The Warning have announced their debut U.S. headline tour for 2022.
With its Los Angeles shows at the Troubadour already sold out, the ‘Mayday’ Tour kicks off in San Diego on January 18, with the ticket pre-sale launching on December 7, locally on December 9, and to the general public December 10 via the band’s official website.
The Warning, who features sisters Daniela “Dany” [guitar, lead vocals, piano], Paulina “Pau” [drums, vocals, piano], and Alejandra “Ale” Villarreal [bass, piano, backing vocals], are a hard-hitting power trio who has built a global fan following with their infectious sound and unflinching lyrics.
‘Eyes Without A Face’: Billy Idol’s Dreamy Ballad With A Dark Inspiration
In October, the band released their ‘Mayday’ EP via LAVA/Republic Records that included standout singles “Choke,” “Evolve”, “Disciple”, and “Martirio.” Produced by the legendary David Bendeth (Paramore, Bring Me The Horizon, Breaking Benjamin), the project is an electrifying musical rollercoaster that offers an unapologetic look at issues faced by the younger generation today — from ever-present technology, communication problems caused by generation gaps, love, anxiety, and the overwhelming pressure to suppress emotions.
In addition, the band’s cover of “Enter Sandman” was featured on The Metallica Blacklist , the 30-year anniversary reissue of Metallica’s legendary self-titled album.
It’s a continuation of a musical journey the trio kicked off by building a grassroots fanbase through their powerful online presence — quickly amassing over 120 million YouTube views and 15 million streams. They quickly captured the attention and admiration of a lineup of rock legends and were invited to perform with Alice Cooper , The Killers , Def Leppard , and most recently Metallica at the Welcome To Rockville Festival.

Theatres in Moscow
Cultural life of Moscow city is various and rich! Operas, ballets, symphonic concerts... Russian composers have created some of the most beautiful classical music. Russian classical music is very popular in Moscow. It is performed in many beautiful historical venues. Do not forget to include a visit to a concert hall in your itinerary when you are planning your stay in Moscow! And do it in advance.
There are almost no restrictions on dress code in Russian theatres. Visitors may wear jeans and sports shoes, they may have a backpack with them. Only shorts are not allowed.
A typical feature of Russian theatre – visitors are bringing a lot of flowers which they present to their favorite performers after the show.
Here are some practical advices where to go and how to buy tickets.
The Bolshoi Theatre
The Bolshoi Theatre is the oldest, the most famous and popular opera and ballet theatre in Russia. The word “Bolshoi” means “big” in Russian. You can buy a ticket online in advance, 2-3 months before the date of performance on the official website . Prices for famous ballets are high: 6-8 thousand rubles for a seat in stalls. Tickets to operas are cheaper: you can get a good seat for 4-5 thousand rubles. Tickets are cheaper for daytime performances and performances on the New Stage. The New Stage is situated in the light-green building to the left of the Bolshoi's main building. The quality of operas and ballets shown on the New Stage is excellent too. However, you should pay attention that many seats of the Bolshoi’s Old and New Stages have limited visibility . If you want to see the Bolshoi’s Old Stage but all tickets are sold out, you can order a tour of the theatre. You can book such a tour on the official website.
If you want, following Russian tradition, to give flowers to the performers at the end of the show, in the Bolshoi flowers should be presented via special staff who collects these flowers in advance.
In August the Bolshoi is closed.
The Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Music Theatre
This theatre is noteworthy. On one hand, it offers brilliant classical opera and ballet performances. On the other hand, it is an experimental venue for modern artists. You can check the program and buy tickets online here http://stanmus.com/ . If you are opera lover, get a ticket to see superstar Hibla Gerzmava . The theatre has a very beautiful historic building and a stage with a good view from every seat. Tickets are twice cheaper than in the Bolshoi.
The Novaya Opera
“Novaya” means “New” in Russian. This opera house was founded in 1991 by a famous conductor Eugene Kolobov. Its repertoire has several directions: Russian and Western classics, original shows and divertissements, and operas of the 20th and 21st centuries. It is very popular with Muscovites for excellent quality of performances, a comfortable hall, a beautiful Art Nouveau building and a historic park Hermitage, which is situated right next to it. You can buy tickets online here http://www.novayaopera.ru/en .
Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Center
The Opera Center has become one of the best theatrical venues in Moscow. It was founded in 2002 by great diva Galina Vishnevskaya. Nowadays its artistic director is Olga Rostropovich, daughter of Galina Vishnevskaya and her husband Mstislav Rostropovich, great cellist and conductor. Not only best young opera singers perform here, but also world music stars do; chamber and symphonic concerts, theatrical productions and musical festivals take place here. You can see what is on the program here http://opera-centre.ru/theatre . Unfortunately “booking tickets online” is available in Russian only. If you need help, you can contact us at and we can book a ticket for you.
Tchaikovsky Concert Hall and The Great Hall of Moscow Conservatory
These are two major concert halls for symphonic music in Moscow. Both feature excellent acoustics, impressive interior, various repertoire and best performers. You can check the program here http://meloman.ru/calendar/ . You need just to switch to English. Booking tickets online is available only for owners of Russian, Ukrainian and Belorussian phone numbers. If you need help, you can contact us and we can book a ticket for you.
Moscow International Performing Arts Center (MIPAC)
This modern and elegant concert hall houses performances of national and foreign symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, solo instrumentalists, opera singers, ballet dancers, theatre companies, jazz bands, variety and traditional ensembles. Actually, it has three concert halls placed on three different levels and having separate entrances. The President of MIPAC is People’s Artist of the USSR Vladimir Spivakov, conductor of “Virtuosy Moskvy” orchestra. You can see pictures of the concert halls here http://www.mmdm.ru/en/content/halls . The program is impressive in its variety but is not translated into English. You can contact us at and we can find a performance for you.

As his back-to-back nights of shows headlining Tampa arena Yuengling Center would suggest, Billy Strings has become a star in bluegrass and beyond, earning three Grammy nominations this year alone, including for his collaborations with Willie Nelson and Dierks Bentley. He won a Best Bluegrass Album Grammy for "Home" in 2021.

April 13; Sailor Circus Arena, Sarasota; circusartswonderball.com
The second annual electronic dance music concert fundraiser Wonderball, benefiting Sarasota's Circus Arts Conservatory youth education programs, features Alan Walker, who's been named to DJ Magazine's Top 100 DJs list every year since 2016 (landing at No. 11 last year) and shared bills with acts including Rihanna and Justin Bieber.
Leanne Morgan
April 13-14; Tampa Theatre, Tampa; tampatheatre.org
Though Leanne Morgan may be relatively new to the national stand-up comedy scene (her current tour is called Just Getting Started), she's already highly successful, releasing the Netflix special "I'm Every Woman" last year and selling out venues. She'll perform four shows at Tampa Theatre, which were set for January before being rescheduled.
April 18; Seminole Hard Rock Event Center
Though he first became known to many people from the Blue Collar Comedy Tour with Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy and Bill Engvall, Ron White has became a stand-up star in his own right, with specials including 2003's gold-selling "Drunk in Public" and 2018's "If You Quit Listening, I'll Shut Up" on Netflix.

April 26; Amalie Arena

Breakaway Music Festival
April 26-27; Raymond James Stadium
While Sunset Music Festival, the annual Memorial Day weekend electronic music festival at Tampa's Raymond James Stadium, won't take place this year , another festival showcasing the same genre at the same venue will. Zedd, the DJ known for such inescapable hits as "Stay" with Alessia Cara and the Song of the Year Grammy-nominated "The Middle" with Maren Morris and Grey, will headline along with Illenium, Kaskade and Florida's own Sofi Tukker.
Indigo Girls

The folk duo were introduced to a new generation when their 1989 song "Closer to Fine" appeared in last year's biggest box-office hit, "Barbie." Tyler Childers
June 5; MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre
The country/bluegrass musician's 2023 album "Rustin' in the Rain" reached No. 10 on the Billboard 200 and earned five Grammy nominations: Best Country Album, Best Americana Performance for his cover of Kris Kristofferson's "Help Me Make It Through the Night" and Best Country Song, Solo Performance and Music Video for "In Your Love."

Justin Timberlake
June 14; Amalie Arena
The pop star has been busy lately, releasing his latest solo album "Everything I Thought It Was" in March and reuniting recently with his former group — the Orlando-formed boy band NSYNC — after a hiatus lasting more than 20 years, releasing the single "Better Place" last year for the film "Trolls Band Together."
June 14; MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre
The Atlanta-by-way-of-Britain rapper tours after releasing his latest No. 1 album, "American Dream," earlier this year. He previously released the 2022 collaborative album "Her Loss" with Drake, with the two rap stars embarking on co-headlining concerts afterwards.
Santana and Counting Crows
June 16; Amalie Arena
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-inducted band Santana, led by guitar hero Carlos Santana, co-headlines with "Mr. Jones" pop rockers Counting Crows. If that seems like an unlikely double-bill, remember Santana made a career comeback with 1999's Album of the Year Grammy-winning, 15-times-platinum "Supernatural," featuring many of Counting Crows' contemporaries such as Rob Thomas and Dave Matthews.
Melanie Martinez
June 18; Amalie Arena
The season three "The Voice" contestant turned pop star embarks on the Trilogy Tour, where she'll perform hits from her three Top 10 albums — 2015's "Cry Baby," 2019's "K—12" and last year's "Portals" — joined by the band Beach Bunny and singer Sofia Isella.

Red Hot Chili Peppers
June 21; MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre
The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame-inducted group has ranked among the genre's most successful acts for decades, including this one, with their 2022 albums "Unlimited Love" and "Return of the Dream Canteen" landing at No. 1 and 3 on the Billboard 200, respectively. Joining them will be rapper and fellow Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee (as a member of N.W.A.) Ice Cube.

In the aftermath of the Moscow concert hall attack, is a harsher era under Putin in the works?

FILE - Saidakrami Murodali Rachabalizoda, a suspect in the Crocus City Hall shootings, is escorted by police and FSB officers in Basmanny District Court in Moscow, Russia, on March 24, 2024. The attack on the Moscow concert hall, the bloodiest assault on Russian soil in two decades, appears to be setting the stage for an increasingly harsh response by President Vladimir Putin. Four suspects in the attack appeared in court showing signs of brutal treatment while in custody. (AP Photo/Alexander Zemlianichenko, File)
Video and photos of suspects in a mass shooting show them apparently being brutalized by Russian security forces — without any rebuke from authorities. A top Kremlin official urges that hit squads be sent to assassinate Ukrainian officials. Senior lawmakers call for restoring capital punishment, abolished decades ago.
The aftermath of the Moscow concert hall attack that killed 145 people in the bloodiest assault in Russia in two decades seems to be setting the stage for even harsher rule by President Vladimir Putin following his highly orchestrated electoral landslide last month.
Recommended Videos
Putin vowed to hunt down the masterminds of the March 22 attack that he linked to Ukraine despite Kyiv's vehement denials and a claim of responsibility by an offshoot of the Islamic State group. He warned ominously that terrorism is a “double-edged weapon.”
Putin lieutenant Dmitry Medvedev declared that if Ukrainian involvement is proven, Moscow should respond by deploying hit men to kill the country's leaders “in Kyiv or any other convenient place.”
The attack dealt a heavy blow to Putin less than a week after the vote that extended his rule for another six-years. It marked a major failure by his security agencies that were given an advance warning by the U.S. that extremists were planning an imminent attack.
Critics of the Kremlin argue that security forces are so focused on conducting the harshest crackdown on dissent since Soviet times that they are distracted from tackling real threats.
In an apparent attempt to divert attention from the security lapse and rally support for the war in Ukraine, Putin and his lieutenants alleged — without evidence — that the arrest of the four suspects near Ukraine indicated Kyiv’s likely involvement.
The four, all citizens of Tajikistan, were detained by security forces in a forest about 140 kilometers (86 miles) from the Ukrainian border.
Video confessions of their involvement in the attack were released by Russian news outlets, but the veracity of those statements has been called into question because the men seemed to have been severely beaten and bore other signs of brutality when they appeared in court.
One had a heavily bandaged ear -– reportedly cut off during interrogation. Another had pieces of a plastic bag on his neck, a possible sign of attempts at suffocation. A third was in a wheelchair, barely conscious, accompanied by medical personnel.
Russian police and other security agencies have long been accused of torture, but many incidents also brought official condemnation, dismissals of those involved and criminal prosecutions.
In stark contrast, authorities refused to comment on the grisly video that emerged or the signs of maltreatment seen in court.
One video showed a man in combat fatigues cutting off part of one of the suspects' ear and forcing it into his mouth while threatening to do the same with his genitals. Another suspect was seen with his trousers pulled down and wires attached to his genitals.
The Associated Press was unable to verify the authenticity of the images, but Human Rights Watch said it determined the men in the photos and videos were the same as those in court for their pretrial hearings.
“The rapid and widespread sharing of these videos appears to be no accident but rather some kind of appalling boast by the Putin government of its brazen disregard for basic rights, fundamental humanity, and the rule of law,” said Tanya Lokshina, HRW's associate director for Europe and Central Asia.
Kremlin propagandists sought to cast their treatment as a proper response to the massacre.
Margarita Simonyan, head of state-funded broadcaster RT, dismissed criticism and said the law enforcement personnel involved shouldn’t face any punishment.
“Imagine yourself in place of our guys who were chasing those ghouls who just mowed down many, many of our fellow citizens,” Simonyan said. “What were they supposed to do? Serve them some warm porridge and yogurt?”
Many observers saw the tacit endorsement of such brutality as an ominous sign of more to come.
“All that serves a double function -– a show of terror as a mechanism of intimidation and rallying hatred,” political analyst Kirill Rogov said in a commentary. “It normalizes hatred as a response, including to those who have questions and disagreements.”
Medvedev, deputy head of Russia’s Security Council, who served as liberal-minded placeholder president in 2008-12, when term limits forced Putin to shift to the premier's seat, has turned recently into one of the harsher voices from the Kremlin.
In a commentary on his messaging app channel this week, he called for the extrajudicial killings of Ukrainian officials, arguing Russia should follow in the Soviet practice in the last century of assassinations, like those of Ukrainian nationalists Yevhen Konovalets and Stepan Bandera.
“What should we do? Simply crush the Banderite swine as the Soviet MGB did after the war," Medvedev wrote, referring to a forerunner of the KGB, "and liquidate their leaders on convenient occasions -- like Konovalets and Bandera -– in Kyiv or any other convenient places.”
The concert hall attack also brought demands from hawks and some senior lawmakers to reinstate the death penalty, which has been suspended since 1996 when Russia joined the Council of Europe, the continent’s leading human rights organization.
Calls for its restoration have circulated often, particularly after attacks blamed on insurgents from the region of Chechnya and other militant extremists. They increased after Moscow left the Council of Europe after its invasion of Ukraine.
Vladimir Vasilyev, head of the parliamentary faction of United Russia, the main Kremlin party, said the lower house would review restoring the death penalty, taking into account "society’s mood and expectations.”
Some Kremlin-connected lawmakers and others oppose the move, in an apparent sign of Putin's hesitation.
Andrei Klishas, the influential head of the constitutional affairs committee in the upper house of parliament, argued its restoration is impossible unless Russia approves a new constitution.
Andrei Medvedev, the deputy speaker of the Moscow City Council, said Russia should never bring back capital punishment because of its troubled history in the Soviet era.
“Regrettably, our judicial system isn’t ideal and isn’t immune from mistakes,” he wrote in a commentary. “The country that saw repressions, Red Terror ... and executions of those who believed in God must forget about the death penalty once and for all.”
Lidiya Mikheyeva, the secretary of the Public Chamber, a Kremlin-controlled advisory board, also spoke against reinstatement and reverting "to the times of savagery and barbarity.”
“The abolition of the death penalty is one of our country’s major historic achievements,” she added.
Dmitry Kiselyov, a Russian state TV commentator, also hinted that Putin doesn’t support its reinstatement. “It’s good that Russia is led by Putin, for whom the life of each of our citizens is priceless,” he said.
Despite those apparent doubts, many observers say the official tolerance of the harsh treatment of the suspects and calls for killing Russia's enemies herald an even more ruthless era.
Net Freedoms, a Russian group focusing on freedom of speech, noted that harsh statements from Putin and Medvedev coming amid “the backdrop of demonstrative torture effectively sanction extrajudicial executions and give law enforcement agencies a directive on how to treat the enemies.”
“We are seeing the possible beginning of the new Great Terror,” the group said, referring to the purges by Soviet dictator Josef Stalin of the 1930s. “There must be no illusions — the developments follow a very bad scenario and the slide is rapidly accelerating.”

There’s no place like home.
Nicki Minaj gave her native New York crowd a night to remember for her Madison Square Garden stop of the Pink Friday 2 tour .
The evening was electric before she even touched the stage, as DJ Boof played a slew of the Queens rapper’s hits, Pop Smoke’s “Dior,” Rihanna’s “Take A Bow,” and A$AP Ferg’s “Plain Jane.” He even catered to the diversity of the sold-out audience and played records like Taylor Swift’s “You Belong With Me” and Justin Bieber’s “Baby.” Neither race, religion nor creed mattered to the sea of people wearing pink as they turnt up to every single song Boof played.
The energy hit another level when Onika finally hit the stage. Of course, she performed songs like “Press Play,” “FTCU,” and “Needle” from her latest album Pink Friday 2 , but it was the early tracks in her catalog that really set the people off. There wasn’t a single dry eye in the arena when Minaj belted “Save Me.” You could not find a single silent person when she claimed her destiny on “Moment 4 Life.”
