  • The long period of slavery broke the confidence of us Indians in such a way that we lost faith in our own creation.
  • Today, from this thousands of years old Kashi, I call upon every countryman - create with full confidence, innovate, do it in an innovative way
  • The third resolution that we have to take today is to increase our efforts for self-reliant India.
  • This is the elixir of freedom. We are in the 75th year of Independence.
  • We will have to work from now on for what India will be like when India celebrates a hundred years of independence
  • Today's India is reviving its lost heritage.
  • Here in Kashi, Mata Annapurna herself resides.
  • I am glad that the statue of Mother Annapurna, which was stolen from Kashi, has now been re-established in Kashi after waiting for a century
  • For me Janardan is the form of God, every Indian is a part of God, so I want to ask for something.
  • I want three resolutions from you, not for yourself, but for our country - cleanliness, creation and continuous efforts for self-reliant India
  • The inauguration of Kashi Vishwanath Dham will give a decisive direction to India, will lead to a brighter future.
  • This complex is a witness of our capability, of our duty.
  • Nothing is impossible if you are determined, determined
  • In the arms of every Indian, there is that force, which makes the unimaginable come true.
  • We know penance, we know penance, we know how to spend day and night for the country.
  • No matter how big the challenge, we Indians can defeat it together
  • We know penance, we know how to spend day and night for the country.
  • The feet of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj were lying here.
  • From Ranilakshmi Bai to Chandrashekhar Azad, Kashi has been the birthplace of many fighters.
  • Talents like Bharatendu Harishchandra, Jaishankar Prasad, Munshi Premchand, Pandit Ravi Shankar, and Bismillah Khan
  • Where to take this remembrance
  • Kashi is the land of four Jain Tirthankaras, the epitome of non-violence and austerity.
  • From the integrity of King Harishchandra to the knowledge of Vallabhacharya, Ramanand ji
  • From Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, Samarth Guru Ramdas to Swami Vivekananda, Madan Mohan Malaviya
  • How many sages, acharyas have been related to the holy land of Kashi
  • Banaras is the city from where Jagadguru Shankaracharya got inspiration from the purity of Sridom Raja, he resolved to tie the country in the thread of unity.
  • This is the place where Goswami Tulsidas ji created a supernatural creation like Ramcharitmanas with the inspiration of Lord Shankar
  • The realization of Lord Buddha appeared to the world in Sarnath, here.
  • For the betterment of the society, sages like Kabirdas appeared here.
  • If there was a need to connect the society, then this Kashi became the center of the power of devotion of Sant Raidas ji
  • Kashi is not a matter of words, it is a creation of sensations.
  • Kashi is that - where awakening is life!
  • Kashi is that - where even death is Mars!
  • Kashi is that - where truth is the culture!
  • Kashi is where love is tradition
  • The invaders attacked this city, tried to destroy it. The history of Aurangzeb's atrocities, his terror is witness, who tried to change civilization by the sword. Who tried to crush the culture with fanaticism
  • But the soil of this country is different from the rest of the world.
  • If Aurangzeb comes here, Shivaji  stands up. If any Salar Masood moves here, then brave warriors like King Suheldev make him feel the power of our unity.
  • And even during the British era, what did the people to kashi do to warren hastings ?
  • Right now, along with Baba, I am also coming after seeing the city Kotwal Kalbhairav ji, bringing his blessings for the countrymen.

  • You will also feel the glory of your past here.
  •  How antiquity and novelty come alive together,
  •  How the inspirations of the ancient are giving direction to the future,
  •  We are doing its direct darshan in Vishwanath Dham complex:
  • This whole new complex of Vishwanath Dham is not just a grand building,
  • This is a symbol of the Sanatan culture of our India!
  •  It is a symbol of our spiritual soul! It is a symbol of India's antiquity, traditions! India's energy, mobility
  • Earlier the temple area here which was only three thousand square feet, it has now become about 5 lakh square feet.
  • Now 50 to 75 thousand devotees can come to the temple and temple premises.
  • That is, first the darshan-bath of Mother Ganga, and from there directly to Vishwanath Dham
  • Kashi is Kashi! Kashi is imperishable.
  • There is only one government in Kashi, those who have damru in their hands have their government.
  • Who can stop Kashi where Ganga flows by changing its current?

How India Prime Minister Narendra Modi transformed Varanasi

Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, multiple projects bring about sea-change to ancient city

WIN 211212 VARANASI-1639309768891

Lucknow: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream project in Varanasi - the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor - is all set to transform the entire area around the Kashi Vishwanath temple and multiple other projects have brought about a sea-change in the ancient city.

The temple, till now, was ensconced in the tiny lanes of Varanasi and access to the same was invariably a problem - especially on special occasions when the crowds swelled. The temple lacked direct visibility from the Ganga River.

The 20-25 feet wide corridor that will be formally inaugurated on Monday, will connect Lalita Ghat on the Ganga to the Mandir Chowk in the temple premises.

Devotees can take a dip in the holy river and offer prayers to Shiva in the temple from there itself.

WIN 211212 VARANASI 299-1639309783033

The temple now has an area of its own with a giant courtyard.

While the renovation of the Kashi Vishwanath temple remains top on the list of the projects completed in the Prime Minister’s constituency, the Rudraksh Convention Centre that is designed like a Shivalinga with a seating of 1,200 people, with 108 Rudrakshas on its facade, is another major highlight.

The building form and philosophy behind this Convention Centre is inspired by Kashi’s tradition of people-friendly spaces.

With modern facilities like partitioned meeting rooms, art gallery and multi-purpose pre-function areas, the place provides opportunities for artists to showcase themselves and interact with the people as well.

Increased connectivity

The Prime Minister, as MP of Varanasi, has also ensured increased connectivity in his constituency.

WIN 211212 VARANASI 277-1639309779107

The Godowlia Multi level parking, Panchkosi Parikrama Road (for pilgrims), Ro-Ro Vessels for tourism development on Ganga River and three-lane flyover bridge on the Varanasi-Ghazipur Highway, Rs 1 billion for constructing 47 rural link roads of 153 km, Lahartara-Chaukaghat flyover replete with a food court and open cafe, road connecting Babatpur airport to the city have given a new identity to Varanasi.

The Ring Road, with two rail overbridges and a flyover, will allow traffic on NH 56 (Lucknow-Varanasi), NH 233 (Azamgarh-Varanasi), NH 29 (Gorakhpur-Varanasi) and Ayodhya-Varanasi highways to bypass Varanasi, thereby reducing traffic congestion in the city.

The smart signage at Manikarnika Ghat and Harishchandra Ghat, where last rites of people are performed, is meant for people to know about the traditional rituals of these ghats.

PM Modi was in the state's Prayagraj on Tuesday to participate in a programme where he transferred ₹ 1,000 crore to the bank accounts of self-help groups to benefit around 16 lakh women. PM Modi, who visited the holy city to inaugurate the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor on December 13, will “kickstart multiple development initiatives” at around 1pm in Varanasi.

“Spread across 30 acres of land, the Dairy will be built at a cost of about ₹ 475 crores and will have a facility for processing 5 lakh litre of milk per day. This will strengthen the rural economy and help farmers of the region by creating new opportunities for them,” the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement.

Prime Minister will also digitally transfer about ₹ 35 crore bonus to the bank accounts of more than 1.7 lakh milk producers associated with Banas Dairy.

He will then lay the foundation stone for a biogas-based electricity generation plant for the Milk Producers Cooperative Union Plant in Ramnagar. The Prime Minister will also launch a portal and logo dedicated to the Conformity Assessment Scheme of milk products, developed by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB).

“In another effort to reduce the land ownership issues at grassroots level, the Prime Minister will virtually distribute the rural residential rights record ‘Gharauni’ under the Swamitva scheme of Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj, to over 20 Lakh residents of Uttar Pradesh,” the PMO said.

Residential flats and staff quarters at BHU and ITI Karaundi will also be inaugurated by the Prime Minister.

On the same day, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of two 4 to 6 lane road widening projects for Prayagraj and Bhadohi roads, which will improve the connectivity of Varanasi and will be “a step towards resolving the problem of the city's traffic congestion.”

To give “fillip to the tourism potential of the holy city”, the Prime Minister will also inaugurate the Phase-1 of Tourism Development project related to Shri Guru Ravidas Ji Temple, Seer Govardhan, Varanasi.

A speed breeding facility at the International Rice Research Institute, a Regional Reference Standards Laboratory in Payakpur village and an advocate building in Pindra are the other projects, which will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister.

Varanasi: PM Modi's Late Night Tour of Kashi Vishwanath Dham, Banaras Railway Station With CM Yogi

In a tweet posted around 1 am, Modi said he inspected 'key development works' in the temple town.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, ventured out on the streets of Varanasi in the early hours of Tuesday and visited the just-inaugurated Kashi Vishwanath Dham and the Banaras railway station. In a tweet posted around 1 am, Modi said he inspected “key development works” in the temple town.

Varanasi is the prime minister’s parliamentary constituency since 2014. He arrived here on a two-day visit on Monday. On Monday morning, Modi visited the Kal Bhairav Mandir. In the afternoon, he inaugurated the first phase of the ambitious Kashi Vishwanath Corridor project, being referred to as Kashi Vishwanath Dham, and in the evening, witnessed the spectacular Ganga “aarti” and a light-and-sound show from a river cruise.

A little past midnight, chants of “Har Har Mahadev” and “Modi, Modi” rent the air as the prime minister, surrounded by SPG security personnel, took a walk on the streets of Varanasi near the Godowlia Chowk, which have decked up to welcome him. “Inspecting key development works in Kashi. It is our endeavour to create best possible infrastructure for this sacred city,” Modi said in his tweet.

He also shared pictures of his late-night visit to Kashi Vishwanath Dham, which he dedicated to the people a few hours ago. Clad in a grey kurta, white pyjama and a black jacket with a grey muffler thrown over it, Modi took the people walking on the streets by surprise, even as the security personnel tried to ensure that no one ventured close to him.

Later, in another tweet, the prime minister said: “Next stop…Banaras station. We are working to enhance rail connectivity as well as ensure clean, modern and passenger friendly railway stations.” He also shared photos of his visit to the redeveloped station after 1 am. The Banaras railway station was earlier known as Manduadih and was renamed early this year.

The Twitter handle of the Indian Railways had shared pictures of the decorated station on Monday night. Amid chants of “Har Har Mahadev” and “Modi, Modi”, the prime minister was showered with rose petals and unbound adulation on Monday morning as he travelled through the streets of Varanasi, which have been plastered with huge posters bearing his image and greetings.

After his visit to the Kal Bhairav Mandir, the prime minister’s convoy was moving through the narrow streets when a man sought to offer a pink “pagdi” and a scarf to him, but the security personnel pushed him away. Modi then motioned from inside the car and the man was allowed to offer the “pagdi” to him. The man, who was wearing a saffron robe, also offered a “pitambari” (saffron “angvastra”) to the prime minister, which he accepted with folded hands and a smile.
