About Team Uptop Basketball

The mission, top level instruction.

We strive to provide every 4th to 8th grader the opportunity to participate in a travel basketball program.  Athletes only need to sign up and we will place them on a travel team of similar skill level.

We do not cut players.

Butte High Boys Head Coach Matt Luedtke will be actively involved in providing instruction to our male basketball players. 

Butte High Girls Head Coach Bryan Arntson will be actively involved in providing instruction to the girls.  

Lowest Cost in the State

Our focus will be teaching basketball fundamentals that  prepare these young athletes for the future.  We also place a heavy emphasis on character, sportsmanship and work ethic.   Our goal is to develop exceptional boys and girls - BOTH ON AND OFF THE COURT!

Last year, Team Uptop Basketball Club became the lowest cost club in Montana while also becoming the largest youth basketball club in the State!

Participants received $424 worth of benefits from uniforms, facility fees, tournament fees, coaching, etc.

Registration for 2023-2024 Season

Team Uptop Travel Basketball Club

Team Uptop does not cut any players.

We want every athlete to have the opportunity to play travel basketball.  We will not be cutting players.

Player Fee for the Basketball Season:

Team Uptop will be charging a fee for the season to cover the cost of coaches, instruction, jersey, etc.  In an effort to make sure every athlete has a chance to play, scholarships are available. Our fees are significantly lower than other basketball clubs in the state.  The fee is $300 for the season which covered uniforms, coaches, practices and instruction. We are currently working on obtaining corporate sponsorships which would further help address tournament registration costs for the 2023-24 season.

A re fee waivers available?

Yes.  Team Uptop will provide fee waivers for those seeking assistance.

Our first practice will be November 5.  Sometimes extenuating situations such as holidays, other school functions, Covid, games, etc can affect gym availability and the practice schedule.

Team uptop sportsmanship policy, good sportsmanship is a core concept of team uptop basketball. all parents, players and participants agree to adhere to our sportsmanhip policy as follows. any violations can result in the suspension of player from any activities..

• Respect the game, play fairly, and follow all rules and policies.
• Accept the decisions of Team Uptop officials with good grace.
• Demonstrate good sportsmanship before, during, and after games, win or lose.
• Be responsible for the sportsmanship of my teammates and assist in maintaining a respectful environment for all participants.
• Be courteous to opposing teams, officials, monitors, or facilitators and treat all players and officials with respect.
• Obey all facility rules, while respecting all equipment, common areas, playing areas, parking areas, and surrounding neighborhoods.
• Refrain from the use of abusive language or profanity.
• Not engage in any behavior which would endanger the health, safety, or wellbeing of any player, official, staff member, or spectator.
• Not engage in verbal, written, or physical threats or abuse aimed at any participant, official, staff member, or spectator.
• Not initiate a fight, scuffle, or exchange with any individual (including but not limited to: pushing, shoving, punching, kicking, etc.).
• Not use alcoholic beverages or illegal drugs at any location unless permitted by the facility/venue.
• Wear/use all required and issued equipment and/or uniforms.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

No cutting of players..

We want every athlete to have the opportunity to play travel basketball.  Team Uptop will not be cutting any players.  

Hiring of coaches.

Team Uptop will be be hiring coaches for each grade.  Coach Luedtke and Coach Arntson will be actively involved in teaching basketball fundamentals. 

Team Uptop will be charging a fee for the season to cover the cost of coaches, instruction, jersey, etc.  In an effort to make sure every athlete has a chance to play, our fees are significantly lower than the majority of basketball clubs in the state.  

Are scholarships available?

Yes.  Team Uptop will provide fee waivers for those that request assistance.  Every child should be able to participate regardless of financial ability.

We plan to practice twice per week.  Sometimes other extra extenuating situations such as Covid, games, etc can affect the schedule. 

Tournaments:

Last year, players were not charged for any tournament fees.  As long as we can keep our expenses covered, we hope to continue this practice in future years.  We strive to make sure every child can participate regardless of financial ability.

Rocky Mountain Elite Provides Clinics, Small Group Training, and 1:1 Sessions  

Some players are better suited for 1 on 1 attention or small groups while others need the in-game, on-court aspects that a large group can bring. Our goal is to help as many players as we can to reach their goals on, and off, the court.

Our larger-group clinics are dedicated to helping players stay game-ready all-season long. We limit these groups to a max of 18 players. 

Tailored for each season, we focus on ball handling, defense, passing, shooting, and player movement.

We reach these goals by using drills that translate into game situations and scenarios to assist players in building a higher basketball IQ.

This is the perfect place for those who are new to training with RME to start!

Small Groups

Small groups range from 4-9 players per session. We form these sessions by having players of similar skill level form their own groups and pay a flat per session rate as a group. RME does not form any small groups. 

These sessions are designed for players who already have a very strong basketball foundation, have played travel ball and want something a little more intense and specific.

1:1 Sessions

1:1 sessions are extremely limited in space. We make these sessions all about the individual player and work on drills that focus on their personal style of play and position.

We recommend this session for players who have a lot of experience and  have serious aspirations to play in college or who are already in contact with schools to play after high school.

Just because some parents coach their child doesn't mean that's always what is best for every developing player. Maybe you don't feel qualified to develop their skills. Perhaps you worry about how it might impact your relationship. Or you simply want to cheer from the sideline.

But how do you know who to trust with your athlete? How can you be sure they will reach their fullest potential as a player? Rocky Mountain Elite Basketball Club's mission is to meet your player where they are and to provide different training options for them to improve. We want them to compete at their highest level available on the basketball court. Competitive basketball lets players develop life skills on the court that will help them succeed off the court.   

Game-scenario clinics, small-group training, and 1:1 player development sessions provide an organized program that the typical parent coach cannot offer their child. We offer year-round opportunities to change their game.  

RME local, elite, or select teams have the opportunity to play against the best teams in Montana, the region, and even travel to some of the most competitive tournaments in the country. Regardless of their ability - we travel and play as a team. All of our players support each other - on the court, on the bench, and in the stands.  

Our personalized instruction teaches them how to play as part of a team so they are set up for success if they play in high-school and beyond.  

This is the only program like this in Missoula, MT, and one of the premier player development programs in the state. Get your player the training and coaching they need to bring out the potential you know they have.

Rosters ( page 4 ) with signed parental release are required prior to first game .

We reserve the right to exclude teams from competition due to unsportsmanlike conduct.

·  Entries will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis and end when full.

·  No locker room facilities will be provided.

·  Each team must supply basketballs for warm-up.

·   Each team must provide one volunteer per game to handle scorebook or clock.

·  MOA refs and non-MOA in training will be provided.

·  Concession stand will be available in most facilities.

·  Tournament t-shirts and sweatshirts will be available.

·  Gate fees for spectators will be $10 for two day pass, $6 for one day pass, 6 and under are free.

·  Tournament fees listed on registration form.

WHAT IS RUN N GUN YOUTH BASKETBALL?

Run N Gun is a 9 week coed youth basketball league for kids in 4th – 12th grade, located in Billings, MT.

Opening weekend we offer skills/drills training in a team camp setting. Teams are created depending upon participation and skill level. Our goal is to make competitive, even teams with opportunities for ALL players to participate and all kids are treated as a valuable team member no matter their current skill level.

Games are played Thursday and Friday evenings, and Saturdays. We culminate 8 weeks of games, instruction, and training with some fun for our families and players, giving them a chance to showcase all they have learned with contest night, and All Star games!

WHAT SETS US APART FROM OTHER YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUES?

Run N Gun coaches are a step above the rest as they are all former players and former participants of Run N Gun, who know the game, love the game, and love the kids they coach. Our referees love our kids too, and in our learning atmosphere, they will stop and teach the kids as the game is being played so good habits are formed for the next level of play.

We help players improve and build confidence in their skills using proven training techniques; hands on instruction, one on one coaching, and providing actual game time experience. We encourage player development both on AND off the court. Each child will have the opportunity to develop valuable basketball skills to use as they gain the opportunity to play at the high school level and perhaps beyond.
