Nothing But Thieves
With socially insightful lyrics and the ability to evolve their sound and experiment between the different genres that make them as a band, Nothing But Thieves showcased their sonically rather unconventional sound and came back with "Welcome to the DCC" to open an innovative new chapter with their fourth album "Dead Club City", which will be released on 30 June.

Last week, Bad Nerves released the video for their Liam Lynch’s ‘United States of Whatever’ and Sham 69s ‘Borstal Breakout’-inspired recent single “ USA “. The video is available to watch here . Frontman BobbyNerves shared “ We never in a million years thought we would get to tour America, so we made sure to document almost every minute of it so we could relive it later in case it never happens again! This video is a tiny compilation of some of that footage ”.
Shortly after recording “ USA ” (which was mastered at the famous Abbey Road Studios ), the band were invited to America to support Royal Blood which presented a perfect opportunity to introduce the song to an American audience. The video release also came ahead of them joining The Darkness across their sold-out UK tour in December.
Bad Nerves play ferociously fast distorted pop songs and drew acclaim with their previous releases “ Dreaming “, “ Baby Drummer “, & “ Can’t Be Mine “. Their sound reminiscent of Jay Reatard, Supergrass and Ramones caught early attention from BBC Radio 1, Spotify and Amazon Music , whilst the band instantly created a name for themselves as a force to be reckoned with throughout the UK rock, alternative, punk and pop scenes.
The band have also been hand-picked by Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day for his Oakland Coffee playlist and were labelled by Stone Gossard from Pearl Jam as one of his recent favourite bands.
While the quintet initially wanted to see if they could write a track using only the words “United States of America” on repeat, speaking of the track lyricist and band frontman Bobby Bird says, “ It’s strangely satisfying yelling ‘United States of America’ over and over. You can feel it stick to the back of your throat. The unparalleled superpower of the West. Yosemite and the green mountains of BlackRock! The American dream and the mighty Super Bowl! But perhaps it’s just the phonetics. After all, Papua New Guinea didn’t have quite the same ring, although it did look beautiful through my computer screen ”. Catching the attention of Royal Blood and The Darkness ’ Justin Hawkins who, when speaking of the band on his YouTube stream, said “How can you not like this band? They’re so fucking cool” , Bad Nerves were personally invited to join them on their tours this Autum and Winter. Special guest slots for the band in the past year saw them touring alongside Black Honey , Creeper , Salem , Tigercub , and The Struts whilst they played an unforgettable show at BST Hyde Park this year with rock legends Guns ‘n’ Roses . With their loyal supporters of the industry including Dan P Carter at BBC Radio 1’s Rock Show , Jack Saunders on BBC Radio 1’s Future Artists , Classic Rock , Kerrang! Magazine , DIY Magazine and John Kennedy at Radio X , the band have built a dedicated fan base since their debut album release in 2020. With a BBC Radio 1 Maida Vale session and Amazon Live Scene Twitch stream also under their belt, the band have garnered an overwhelming amount of support with only one album to their name. Earlier this year, the five-piece dropped a limited edition run of 10” vinyls from their iconic Sebright Arms show in April 2022 whilst Classic Rock Magazine summed the night up as “ this is what we needed. Go and see Bad Nerves. Do it now ”. With bodies falling from the ceiling and the recording equipment blowing up half way through the set due to the heat of the room, the night was one that will go down in punk’s history books. New single “ USA ” is Bad Nerves ’ confident introduction to U.S. media which sees them bringing their blend of power pop and rock ‘n’ roll to fans across the seas as well as undoubtedly pleasing their already loyal fanbase.

Nothing But Thieves Electrify Madrid in their last show of the “Welcome to the DCC” World Tour
Nothing But Thieves concluded the European leg of their “Welcome to the DCC World Tour” in Madrid, setting La Riviera ablaze with an unforgettable performance on a chilly March evening. From the moment fans congregated outside the iconic venue to the final encore, the atmosphere pulsated with anticipation and raw energy.
After a month on the road across Europe, the Essex band took to the stage in Madrid, before a sold-out and enthusiastic La Riviera crowd. Throughout the day, several fans were seen already outside the iconic venue in the Spanish capital, ready to rush to the front line of the concert, exchanging friendship bracelets and talking to each other. The palpable excitement crescendoed as the Spanish band, “Los Niños Bravos,” opened the night, priming the crowd for the sonic journey ahead. Amidst a nostalgic blend of classics and ads on the fictional “Dead Club Radio,” anticipation reached a fever pitch when ABBA’s “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)” played just before Nothing But Thieves graced the stage. The venue erupted in a symphony of cheers as the band launched into “Welcome to the DCC,” igniting the night with fervor drawn from their latest album, “Dead Club City.”
Conor Mason, the vocalist and guitarist, took to the stage wearing a black lace jacket, dancing and enchanting with his powerful voice. After four songs spanning the band’s albums, Conor finally addressed the Madrid audience, which accompanied the band like a choir in every song. “Do you wanna sing a REAL love song?” he said, before starting the first chords of “Real Love Song” from the band’s third album “Moral Panic,” released in 2020. After an enthusiastic performance with a passionate fan chorus, the vocalist shouted “HOOLAAA CHICOS!!” which echoed through the venue, adding, “We come from Essex, England. It’s nothing like Madrid, it’s sh*t.”
Although only Conor addressed the audience directly during the concert, it never meant that the other band members didn’t shine as brightly as he did. The synergy between band members was palpable, as guitarists Joe Langridge-Brown and Dominic Craik, who is also on the keyboards, bassist Philip Blake, and drummer James Price, joined Conor’s iconic high notes in “City Haunts” and “Drawing Pins,” wowing the audience, especially in their solos. Fans responded to the guitar chords with enthusiastic cheers for each of their favorites, and smiles were evident on the faces of the artists, who seem to absolutely love what they do on stage.
During “Sorry,” the second single from the band’s 2017 album “Broken Machine” and a clear favorite of the audience, Conor turned the microphone to the crowd during the first chorus, and the voices of around 2500 people echoed through the venue in unison. The crowd’s voices were heard again in “Unperson” when they shouted “It’s worse” in the pre-chorus.
Conor addressed the audience again after “Phobia,” almost at the end of the concert, stating that he is very happy for the European leg of the tour to end in Madrid because the energy is electrifying, and the fans sing very loudly. The guitarists sat down, and it was time for a ballad, a hallmark of the band’s beginnings 10 years ago, “Lover, Please Stay,” from the self-titled album. La Riviera was filled with flashes of phone lights in a beautiful and intimate moment where the connection between the audience and the band was evident. Waters were distributed after someone in the middle of the audience felt unwell and was assisted, with Conor only continuing the concert after asking twice if everyone was okay and if more water or assistance was needed. Conor introduced the next song by saying it was dedicated to a fan, Francesca, who was attending her 101st band concert and it was her favorite song. “Trip Switch,” also from the self-titled album, echoed amidst enthusiastic cheers. “Some of you are really great singers. Some are just aspiring singers, but I hear you all sing all of these songs, new and old. I need all of you to sing the next one,” Conor requested before singing “Impossible” and ending the concert with “Pop the Balloon.”
But the fans didn’t budge without shouts, chants, and applause for an encore. And the band responded, returning to the stage and singing their latest song, released earlier this year, “Oh No :: He Said What?”. The encore was undoubtedly one of the most energetic parts of the concert. The audience seemed not to lose any kind of energy as if Nothing But Thieves’ concert charged them with lifelong energy with their melodic indie-rock. Everyone vibrated with “Amsterdam” and “Overcome” as if it were the song they most longed to hear. In between, there was still time for a conversation break where Conor revealed that the sound guy had gotten drunk the night before and teased him, asking someone in the audience to buy him the worst shot available. During the last song, he repeated several times that he was watching him to make him drink it.
The night was energetic, full of good music, and with a happy band and fans. That’s how a European tour was made, but I believe that if the band wanted (and could) continue playing, fans would stay all night jumping with the energy and charisma that Nothing But Thieves bring to the stage.

Nothing But Thieves Announce Part 2 Of The North American Leg Of Their Welcome To The DCC World Tour
SPORTS TEAM WILL JOIN TOUR AS SPECIAL GUESTS ACROSS ALL DATES
New single ‘oh no :: he said what’ out now; ‘dead club city deluxe’ due out on 15 th march, general onsale begins friday, march 8 at 10 am local time on livenation.com.
Fresh off the heels of their sold out European Tour, Nothing But Thieves announce a second leg of their North American tour. Produced by Live Nation, the 21 city tour touches down Stateside in October, stops include Rooftop Pier 17 in New York, Aragon Ballroom in Chicago, Palladium in Los Angeles, and Factory Deep Ellum in Dallas. Sports Team will join as special guests across all dates. (FULL ROUTING BELOW.)
The band’s last run in the territory was completely Sold Out, and marked their first time returning to NA in five years. Nothing But Thieves’ growth as a live band continues to pick up momentum as they solidify their reputation as one of the best live modern rock acts around. It is impossible not to notice the diversity of the crowd, spanning generations at any given gig. The band’s musical talents are highlighted by the breath-taking vocals of singer Conor Mason, and yes, he really can hit those notes live.
TICKETS: Tickets will be available starting on Tuesday, March 12 via presales that will run throughout the week ahead of the general onsale beginning Friday, March 15 at 10 AM local time at LiveNation.com .
The band enjoyed an incredible 2023; their fourth album ‘Dead Club City’ charted at #1 in the UK and NL, they performed to a sold out UK tour, including two nights at London’s Wembley Arena, Radio 1 named their single ‘Welcome to the DCC’ their Hottest Record of the Year and Radio X gave them the Best Record of the Year award for their single ‘Overcome’ .
Kicking off 2024 with a bang, they came back with a new single ‘Oh No :: He Said What?’ alongside a completely Sold Out European Tour including two nights at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome which alone accounted for 34,000 tickets. Most recently, Nothing But Thieves have shared their energetic and anthemic new single ‘Oh No :: He Said What?’ alongside the announcement of a Deluxe version of their #1 album ‘ Dead Club City’ due on 15 th March via AWAL.
The band introduced a new era of Nothing But Thieves with ‘Dead Club City’ , which was recorded and produced by Nothing But Thieves guitarist Dom Craik alongside John Gilmore (production, engineering) and Mike Crossey (mixing). The concept-style album showcased their city-sized members only club, with the tracklist and overall narrative formed by different characters and story arcs from in and around the city. Using the club as a focal point, it is easy to imagine the real-world meaning behind ‘ Dead Club City’ . Themes such as advertisement, unity, internet culture, the music industry, ageing and politics, as well as escapism and change are highlighted by the alienation or privilege of a members only club.
Continuing their exploration within the club and evolving the story to introduce new chapters, ‘Dead Club City Deluxe’ features three new songs, including new single ‘Oh No :: He Said What?’ , ‘Time :: Fate :: Karma :: God’ and ‘Pure You’ . It also features Stripped versions of two of the original album’s singles ‘Overcome’ and ‘Tomorrow Is Closed’ .

Nothing But Thieves performed at the Ziggo Dome on the 15th of April 2022! Please note: this was the replacement date for the concert that would have taken place on the 12th of November 2021. A few years ago, Nothing But Thieves was still in the Ziggo Dome as the support act for Muse and this evening they sold out Ziggo Dome themselves. They completely blew the audience in the room. The love between the band and Amsterdam remains great! Everybody went Crazy during the song Amsterdam! ''Your country alone has made us successful, so thank you!''. Thank you Nothing But Thieves and fans for this great night!
