All about becoming and being an Auburn student

How to Make the Most Out of Your Campus Visit

Planning a campus visit is essential during your college decision process as you determine what college or university is the best fit for you. There is a lot to take into consideration during your visit: academics, campus culture, and student life—just to name a few. Visiting different campuses allows you to experience first-hand the differences that will factor into your final decision.  Before you plan your visit to Auburn University, check out the list below to make the most of your time on campus.

online tour auburn

Schedule a Campus Tour

The best way to learn about Auburn University’s rich tradition, campus life, and academic excellence is to schedule an official campus tour . Led by a current student (our “Student Recruiters”), the 75-minute walking tour provides a great overview of what Auburn has to offer and helps you get more familiar with the layout of our campus. Don’t be surprised if current students say “ War Eagle !” as you pass. It’s what we do as members of the “Auburn Family” to greet each other on campus— and around the world!

Visit Your College

An important part of a campus visit is exploring your academic area of interest. Across all our 12 colleges, there are opportunities to schedule department tours or meetings with a professional staff member. It is important to schedule these meetings or tours before you arrive on campus due to limited availability. During this time with your specific college, you can ask any questions you have about your scholarly interests, explore the different classroom settings, and learn more about the opportunities available in your major.

Tour the Recreation and Wellness Center

Recognized by Men’s Health magazine as one of the “coolest college recreation centers in America,” the Auburn University Recreation and Wellness Center is a must-see during your time on campus. The 240,000 square-foot Recreation and Wellness Center is home to a 1/3-mile inclining track, two 50-foot climbing towers, a bouldering wall, 6 basketball courts, two multi-activity courts, a resort-style pool and hot tub, and an outdoor equipment rental center and bike shop. The facility also provides group fitness classes, access to intramural and club sports, outdoor adventure experiences, personal training and more! Walk-up tours are available for potential students interested in learning more about Auburn University Recreation and Wellness.

Eat at a University Dining Hall

While on campus, take a lunch break and explore where our students eat daily. The Edge at Central Dining is our newest and largest, all-you-care-to-eat facility located in the heart of Auburn’s campus. The Edge has nine different food stations, including one with allergen-sensitive recipes. The dining hall even features products grown on campus through partnerships with the College of Agriculture . If you are curious, check out the menu before your visit. With two floors full of unique options, even the pickiest of eaters will find something to enjoy!

Explore Downtown Auburn

Auburn’s campus meets downtown at the intersection of College Street and Magnolia Avenue. Home to a variety of boutiques, restaurants and more, downtown Auburn offers plenty to visitors and locals alike.  A trip to Auburn, Alabama is not complete without a glass of ice-cold lemonade from Toomer’s Drugs or grabbing a new t-shirt from J&M Bookstore .

There is so much to see on and off campus making it easy to fill up your itinerary for a day exploring Auburn! With the right planning, you can guarantee that you are making the most out of your campus visit. We look forward to welcoming you to “the Loveliest Village on the Plains!”

Have a question, 334.821.8200, auburn campus tours: “small town, big experience”.

Auburn Campus Tours

Throughout the calendar year, not just during regularly scheduled semesters, Auburn’s Office of University Recruitment provides free guided tours for those aiming to get to know the campus a little more. And, while Auburn campus tours are geared toward prospective students, future Tigers, and visiting family members, they’re entirely free to the general public. Each tour provides a look into the past, as well as a glimpse into the future. There’s no better place to start and finish your Auburn University visit than right here at The Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center , the only on-campus lodging option.

Guided Auburn Campus Tours

Most Auburn campus tours last approximately 75 minutes. This guided walking experience focuses solely on the university’s absorbing history, many long-lasting traditions, and insights into student life. The Office of Recruitment provides three daily Auburn campus tours, Monday through Friday, except on holidays. Highlights on the tour include legendary Samford Hall , Ralph Brown Draughon Library , the Student Center , and nearly a dozen more architectural masterpieces. You’ll be urged to pick up a copy of the latest version of The Auburn Plainsman , the university’s award-winning student newspaper. For those who wish to explore the campus without the aid of a student worker, don’t forget to print out the self-guided tour brochure . Similarly to most student-led Auburn tours, the self-guided audio-based expedition includes stops at Samford, the library, and various picturesque residence halls.

Campus Highlights

Not every one of the ground’s highlights is covered during the guided (or self-guided) Auburn University campus tour. Thus, we typically recommend visiting these five distinct sights during your stay: the Donald E. Davis Arboretum , Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art , Lovelace Hall of Honor , Auburn Arena , and Jordan-Hare Stadium . Most folks also stroll into Toomer’s Drugs for a world-famous lemonade before or after an on-campus Auburn visit. And don’t forget to shop along College Street to purchase some burnt orange and navy blue attire. Remember: during busy seasons, most Auburn campus tours fill up quickly! So, book now.

2024 NCAA Women's D-I Golf Regional fields selected: Who's in, who's out?

1493049715

Wake Forest is looking to become the first repeat NCAA women's team champion since Duke in 2006 and 2007.

Christian Petersen

South Carolina, Stanford, Wake Forest, LSU, USC and UCLA each earned No. 1 seeds as the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Committee announced its selection of 72 teams and 36 individuals to participate in the 2024 NCAA Women’s D-I Regionals, May 6-8.

Thirteen SEC schools earned spots into the regional fields (including four No. 1 seeds), the most of any conference, followed by nine from the Pac-12, eight from the ACC and seven for the Big Ten.

For the third time, there will be six women’s regional tournaments, each scheduled for 54 holes, an increase from four in previous seasons. And for the second year five teams will advance from each regional to the NCAA Women’s Championship rather than four, aligning it with the number of men’s teams that qualify.

But for the first time, the national championship will be held at Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, Calif.. The North course, newly renovated by Gil Hanse and Jim Wagner , will begin a three-year stint in hosting the women’s and men’s championships, with some hoping that the new venue might eventually become a permanent host for the NCAA finals.

Back to regionals: each site will have 12 teams and six individuals competing. In addition to the five teams qualifying for nationals, the low individual golfer not on one of those teams will also be moving on to La Costa.

For the ninth time, the national championship will include a stroke-play segment to determine the individual champion (72 holes) and whittle the field down to eight schools who then compete in a head-to-head match-play bracket to determine a team champion. Twenty-nine different programs have advanced to match play since the format was adopted in 2015, with Stanford being the lone school that has reached match play all eight times while USC has reached six and Duke have reached five.

Wake Forests is the defending NCAA women's champion, after knocking off USC in the finals last May at Grayhawk G.C. in Scottsdale . Stanford’s Rose Zhang became the first player to ever defend her individual title when she won to cap her sophomore season a year ago. She has since turned pro so we’re assured to have a new champions in 2024.

This year's NCAA Women's Championship will be May 17-22.

USA TODAY has announced two Greenville winners for the USA Today 10Best Readers' Choice Awards.

Gather GVL and Greenville's History & Culinary tours placed in the top 10 for each of their respective categories.

Following last year's win, Gather GVL was recognized as one of the best food halls in the nation, moving up a spot in the list. Although Greenville's tours dropped down a few places from last year's ranking, it still managed to luck out when it comes to being one of the country's best food tours.

If you sit on the second floor, you can enjoy views of downtown, whether rain or shine. Locals with furry friends will be glad to know their pets are welcome to the ground floor, where they, too, can join in on the fun. In 2023, USA TODAY placed the food hall at No. 6 for best food in the nation.

Foodies on the culinary tours will have opportunities to visit kitchens and sample food offerings while "At the Chef's Table." Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine rocks out on guitar.

Megadeth is a busy band.

The thrash metal group is currently midway through their ongoing ‘Crush The World Tour’ that wraps up with a festival appearance at Portugal’s Evil Live in late June.

Rather than pump the brakes after the international run, Dave Mustaine and co. are going full throttle into August and September with their newly announced ‘Destroy All Enemies Tour’ with Mudvayne and All That Remains.

On the 33-concert trek, they’ll make three New York stops.

First, Megadeth will mosh their way into Albany’s MVP Arena on Tuesday, Sept. 10.

After, that, the quartet is slated to headbang at Bethel’s Bethel Woods Center For The Arts on Friday, Sept. 13 and Wantagh’s Jones Beach Theater on Saturday, Sept. 14.

“We are all playing tight, and that has made it possible for me to really focus on solos and singing,” Mustaine shared in a press release about the ‘Crush The World Tour.’ “We are playing more songs than ever before, and we are closer to each other, onstage AND off.”

If you can’t wait to see Megadeth’s polished act live at the venue nearest you, tickets can be picked up for all newly announced North American concerts as soon as today.

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, April 26, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Megadeth tour schedule 2024

A complete calendar including all tour dates, venues and links to buy tickets can be found below.

Megadeth set list

As noted above, Megadeth is melting faces on a nightly basis.

Most recently, they performed at Bogota, Colombia’s Movistar Arena on April 22. According to Set List FM , here’s what they performed that night.

01.) “The Sick, the Dying… and the Dead!” 02.) “Skin o’ My Teeth” 03.) “Hangar 18” 04.) “Sweating Bullets” 05.) “She-Wolf” 06.) “Angry Again” 07.) “Dystopia” 08.) “This Was My Life” 09.) “Trust” 10.) “Tornado of Souls” 11.) “A tout le monde” 12.) “We’ll Be Back” 13.) “Symphony of Destruction” 14.) “Peace Sells”

15.) “Holy Wars… The Punishment Due”

Megadeth new music

The international and U.S. tours are in support of Megadeth’s 2022 album “The Sick, The Dying…and The Dead!”

Made up of 14 heavy tracks filled with relentless guitars, thunderous drums, soaring vocals and a guest turn from Ice-T, the record is a triumph especially considering it was released three years after lead singer Dave Mustaine was diagnosed with throat cancer.

If you want to check out — or revisit — the album, “The Sick, The Dying…and The Dead!” can be found here .

Megadeth special guests

At all shows, Megadeth will be joined by Mudvayne and All That Remains.

As a refresher, here are their most streamed songs on Spotify.

Mudvayne: “Happy?”

All That Remains: “Two Weeks”
