Tesla Announce U.S. Tour Dates for Spring + Summer 2022

Coming at you live! Hair metal linchpins Tesla will embark on a United States tour in spring and summer 2022 that picks up from where their Let's Get Real  tour left off last fall.

The new trek kicks off on March 10 at the Florida Strawberry Festival. Tesla will then wind their way around the country — including a stop in Alaska — before ending the run on June 6 at Michigan's Monroe County Fair.

Tesla were forced to cancel concerts in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic , as  many other acts  did.

Last year, Tesla guitarist Frank Hannon said, "We are so excited and anxious to get back to performing 'real' live concerts again. There's nothing like the energy of being in the same spontaneous moment with an audience of people. Tesla has always taken pride in being a high-energy live band, relying on performances without any backing tracks or pre-recorded help."

Tesla are known to fans of 1980s hard rock for their songs such as "What You Give," "Modern Day Cowboy" and "Little Suzi." They've released eight albums, four live efforts and several compilations since 1986. Their latest LP, Shock , emerged in 2019. Tesla released new song " Cold Blue Steel " in 2021.

The 10 Best Tesla Songs of All-Time

Tesla

In late 1981, Tesla was formed by bassist Brian Wheat and guitarist Frank Hannon By 1984, vocalist Jeff Keith and drummer Troy Luccketta had jumped on board. Over the next decade, they established themselves as the “thinking man’s hair metal band ,” a welcome (if underappreciated) antidote to overblown posturing of the genre’s biggest bands In 1996, they broke up, only to reunite in 2000. Although they never achieved the same level of fame as some of their contemporaries, they’ve still managed to sell over 14 million records in the US and gain recognition as one of the greatest acts in hair metal. Here’s our pick of the 10 best Tesla songs of all time.

10. Love Song

Tesla always knew their way around a power ballad, and in 1989, they pulled a classic out of the bag with Love Song. Written by Frank Hannon and Jeff Keith and released on the band’s second album, The Radio Controversy, it’s got big vocals, a hooky chorus, and a generous slice of cheese on the side… everything, in fact, that you’d want from an 80’s power ballad. A big hit on its release, it charted at No. 10 on the Billboard 100, No. 7 on the US Album Rock Tracks Chart, and eventually certified Gold.

9. Modern Day Cowboy

In 1987, Tesla introduced themselves to the world with their debut single, Modern Day Cowboy. A jacked-up, juicy piece of rock and roll, it was the perfect introduction to the band. From Jeff Keith’s scratchy vocals to the Aerosmith-inspired riffs, everything is on point. Throw in lyrics that reference everything from Al Capone and Billy the Kid to the Cold War, and it’s easy to see how they earned the title of the “thinking man’s hair metal band”.

8. Edison’s Medicine

Tesla’s third studio album , Psychotic Supper, was a more stripped-back affair than The Great Radio Controversy. There are fewer studio enchantments and a greater focus on Tesla’s bluesy rock. Tesla never fit the mold of a traditional hair metal band, and the understated approach suited them much better than the blowsy, overblown arrangements adopted by many of their peers. One of the album’s key highlights is Edison’s Medicine. As All Music points out , while it’s typical of the pop-metal anthem sound, the subject matter – the attention paid to Thomas Edison compared to the lesser-known but no less gifted Nikola Tesla – sets it apart.

7. Little Suzi

Little Suzi’s on the Up was first recorded by new wave group Ph.D., who released it as the first single from their self-titled debut in 1981. In 1987, Tesla revisited the song under a slightly abridged title for their debut album, Mechanical Resonance. Released as the second (and most successful) single from the album, it helped propel them into the mainstream, charting at No. 91 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 22 on the Billboard Album Rock Tracks.

6. Hang Tough

As mikeladano.com notes , Tesla were great at writing hooks, and the opener to their second album, The Great Radio Controversy, features one of the biggest in their canon. Brian Wheat kills on the bass intro, while the beefy dual guitars and Jeff Keith’s elastic vocals meld to create a boot-stomping, chest-pumping anthem of epic proportions. Released as the second single from the album, Hang Tough climbed to No. 34 on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.

5. What You Give

What You Give was released as a double single with Cotton Fields in 1992. A no-frills, straight-shooting banger, its back-to-basics approach is emblematic of everything there is to love about the band, highlighting exactly what set them apart from so many of their contemporaries on the hair metal scene.

Signs was first recorded by the Canadian group Five Man Electrical Band for their album, Good-Byes and Butterflies in 1970. Released as a single in 1971, it charted at No. 4 in the band’s native Canada and No. 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100. Two decades later, Tesla covered it and released a live version for their album, Five Man Acoustical Jam album. They changed up the lyrics, added a peppering of four-letter words, and scored a No. 8 hit with it in 1990. In 2007, they revisited it again for their EP, A Peace of Time, this time dropping the curses and reverting to the original lyrics.

3. The Way It Is

Described by All Music as “among their best (songs), with melodies and riffs that aren’t predictable, cookie-cutter product,” The Way It Is is one of the highlights of the band’s second album, The Great Radio Controversy. Released as a single in March 1990, it was a moderate success, peaking at No. 55 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 13 on the Album Rock Tracks chart.

2. Song and Emotion

As Song Facts explains , Song and Emotion was written as a tribute to Steve Clark, the guitarist from Def Leppard who died on January 8, 1991, from alcohol poisoning. Tesla had opened for Def Leppard on their Hysteria tour and had maintained their friendship with Clark until his death. A haunting, beautifully written song, it was initially recorded for the band’s 1991 album, Psychotic Supper, and has since become a mainstay of their live shows.

1. Heaven’s Trail (No Way Out)

As Loudwire writes , from their very first album Mechanical Resonance, Tesla distinguished themselves as the “thinking man’s hair metal band,” a position they consolidated with the release of the excellent The Great Radio Controversy. The craftsmanship and substance of songs like Yesterdaze is Gone and Party’s Over may have been lost on the waves of hair metal fans packing out the arenas, but for serious metal fans left nauseated by hair metal’s superficiality, they were a breath of fresh air. Of the album’s many highlights, the spectacular Heaven’s Trail (No Way Out) stands out in particular. Released as the lead single from the album in March 1989, it peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart. Today, it’s considered one of the band’s signatures songs, and unquestionably one of their very greatest.

Thomas Newman

No, do not confuse this Thomas Newman with the composer. But I'm still a music lover nonetheless. You'll catch me mostly writing articles about the artists and bands I love. Maybe some theory. Maybe some analysis. Whatever lands in the world of music is something I'm likely interested in. In particular I'm a huge fan of classic rock and the oldies. Zeppelin are among my favorites and Foghat's "Slowride" is one of my favorite tracks.

In a recent interview with Rockin' Metal Revival , TESLA singer Jeff Keith spoke about the fact that he and his bandmates are still enjoying themselves on stage, more than 40 years after the group's formation.

"I will admit that back in the '80s or in the '90s, I could sing things in the regular key of E," he explained. "So for quite some time now, the guys have tuned down a half step, and then there's certain songs that maybe it's tuned down a whole step so I can still sing the same exact melody, but as opposed to what's on the record, it's just tuned down — and drop D, whatever they call it, is as low as you can go; otherwise the strings just get [too loose]. So, you know what? That worked out well for us. And my voice is still holding up. [I] try to take care of it. [I] make sure on days off I'm resting it."

He continued: "We don't do three-in-a-rows anymore; we just do two [shows] in a row and have a day off. So a lot of things like that. With the voice being your instrument, I've really gotta take care of it and just try not to overdo it. And for a guy like me, that's hard to do, but I'm able to do it because I'm just so high strung."

Keith previously talked about TESLA 's decision to tune down its instruments this past July during an appearance on the "That Metal Interview" podcast . At the time, he said: "We started dropping things down to — instead of in E, the key of E, we dropped it to E flat. On particular songs, where I sing really high — I don't even know how I hit the notes back then in the '80s and the '90s — but I think they can drop as low as… there's E flat, and then you can drop as low as D. And on a couple of songs we drop down to the D tuning, so I can sing the same melody but dropped down a whole step. And from what I understand, you can't drop any lower than that, or the strings are so loose [that they are too floppy to play]. So, we just dropped some keys, and then we tried it on a couple of songs and when we even dropped down a whole step, I still can't quite hit the notes [on some songs]."

He continued: "Once again, I don't know how the heck I hit them notes way back then, but all I know is from 'Into The Now' [2004] on, I started thinking about, 'Hey, I've gotta watch out what key we're doing it in, because next thing you know, I sing something that I can't go out there and do it night after night live.' I mean, it is 37 years later, so… [ Laughs ] So, with 'Forever More' , 'Simplicity' — all that stuff — I just started keeping in mind, 'Hey, whatever you write, you've gotta sing it night after night.' Back in the '80s, and stuff like that, I wasn't thinking about it. You just do 20, 30 takes of something, pick the best out of it and go, 'Hey, there you go. That's great.' But I never had the thought in mind of, 'Hey, you've gotta go out there night after night and sing it.' And back then, I could — thankfully — but today, it's, like, 'Hang on a second.' I'm gonna turn 65 in October. It's, like, 'Hang on now.' I'm starting to fill out forms for Medicare and all that stuff. [ Laughs ] So [I've gotta] be careful with what melodies I come up with, because I've gotta be able to do it night after night."

In August 2022, TESLA released a standalone single, "Time To Rock!" A year earlier, the band issued another new track called "Cold Blue Steel" .

In September, TESLA released the official music video for its cover of AEROSMITH 's "S.O.S. (Too Bad)" . The song is a bonus track on TESLA 's live album, "Full Throttle Live!" , which arrived this past May. The LP includes the band's "Time To Rock!" single, plus other songs, all recorded in August 2022 at Full Throttle Saloon in Sturgis, South Dakota.

In September 2021, TESLA drummer Troy Luccketta announced that he would "take a little time from the road" to spend with family and friends. He has since been replaced at TESLA 's gigs by Steve Brown , the younger brother of former DOKKEN drummer Mick Brown .

TESLA 's debut album, 1986's "Mechanical Resonance" , went platinum on the strength of the hits "Modern Day Cowboy" and "Little Suzi" . The 1989 follow-up album, "The Great Radio Controversy" , produced five hits, including "Heaven's Trail (No Way Out)" and "Love Song" , which hit the pop Top Ten.

Formation and ‘Mechanical Resonance’ (1982-1988)

In late 1982, bassist Brian Wheat (age 20) and guitarist Frank Hannon (age 15) formed City Kidd, a band that then spent time gigging at Sacramento’s defunct Oasis Ballroom. They also began working with American rock guitarist Ronnie Montrose towards writing hard rock hit singles, reasoning “We wanted to get signed, and we thought the way to do that was to write a hit single.” New producers and managers turned the group towards radio pop rock and to come up with the appropriate material. Band manager Steve Clausman hired Grammy award winner Duane Hitchings, who provided the music to Rod Stewart songs such as “Da Ya Think I’m Sexy?” and “Infatuation”. A representative from Geffen Records then saw where the City Kidd band was headed and let them know that he would only sign them if they “[wrote] from the gut and not from formulas.”By 1986, the band had again changed its direction under a new name, TESLA.

The band City Kidd was renamed TESLA during the recording of their first album, 1986’s Mechanical Resonance, on the advice of their manager that City Kidd was not a great name (in addition, there was already another band going by that name). The band derived their name, certain album and song titles, and some song content from events relating to inventor and electrical engineer Nikola Tesla. Along with the band’s next two studio albums, Mechanical Resonance was produced by Michael Barbiero and Steve Thompson

The band’s original lineup consisted of lead vocalist Jeff Keith, guitarists Frank Hannon and Tommy Skeoch, bassist Brian Wheat, and drummer Troy Luccketta.

TESLA’s music is often referred to as hard rock or hair metal. The band’s lyrics also strayed from the themes popular in hard rock, particularly in the 1980s at the beginning of their career. In the early days of their career, TESLA toured with David Lee Roth, Alice Cooper, Def Leppard, and Poison which resulted in the band being categorized as a glam metal band. The band’s members resented this labelling. The band was booed off the stage while opening for Def Leppard at Calgary, which was unfair as they were playing well, but were then hardly known and the crowd wanted the main act.

‘The Great Radio Controversy’ and ‘Psychotic Supper’ (1989-1993)

It was three years before the band released their second album, The Great Radio Controversy. The album helped solidify the band’s growing reputation and fan base. The album produced the hit single, a classic ’80s power ballad “Love Song”.

In 1990, TESLA released Five Man Acoustical Jam, a live album featuring acoustic renditions of hits such as “Comin’ Atcha Live”, “Gettin’ Better”, “Modern Day Cowboy”, and “Love Song”. The album also featured a number of covers most notably a version of “Signs”, a 1971 hit by the Five Man Electrical Band.

In 1991 the band released their third studio album Psychotic Supper. The band itself considers this to be their best album according to their official web site. The 1998 Japanese reissue import of Psychotic Supper contains three previously unreleased songs, including “Rock the Nation”, “I Ain’t Superstitious”, and “Run Run Run”.

‘Bust a Nut’ and hiatus (1994-1999)

In 1994 the band released their fourth studio album Bust a Nut. The 1998 Japanese reissue import of Bust a Nut contains the previously unreleased cover of Led Zeppelin’s “The Ocean”.

After the release of Bust a Nut, Skeoch departed because of his struggle with substance abuse. He rejoined after completing rehab, only to depart again months later. The band moved forward as a four piece for a short while. However, it wasn’t long before Skeoch briefly joined up with solo artist Marshall Coleman’s band to support his solo career, only to see a departure of Marshall soon after. This band eventually morphed to include Jeff Keith and resurfaced as Bar 7 with a single “Four Leaf Clover”, from the album The World Is a Freak. Brian Wheat formed Soulmotor and Frank Hannon Moon Dog Mane, while Troy Luccketta worked with several local artists including the Bay Area’s One Thin Dime.

Reunion (2000-2003)

After a break of six years, the Sacramento Bee reported that the band had reformed in 2000 with the help of local radio personality Pat Martin of KRXQ. The band played an emotional sold out show at Arco Arena in Sacramento on October 25, 2000. Soon after they recorded the double live album Replugged Live. In 2002 they were featured in the Rock Never Stops Tour alongside other 1980s rock bands.

2002 saw the release of a further live album Standing Room Only which is just a single CD version of Replugged Live.

“Cumin’ Atcha Live” appeared in the 2002 video game Grand Theft Auto: Vice City.

‘Into the Now’ (2004-2006)

In 2004 they released their fifth studio album Into the Now which debuted on the Billboard album chart at number 30. The album was well received by fans and the band was featured on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

In February 2005, TESLA headlined a benefit show at the PPAC in Providence, Rhode Island for the victims of the Station nightclub fire. During the show the band auctioned off an autographed acoustic guitar with the proceeds going to the Station Family Fund. 100% of the ticket sales also went to this charity.

In the summer of 2006, the band embarked on the Electric Summer Jam Tour without guitarist Tommy Skeoch. Skeoch had left the band indefinitely to spend time with his family, and, as he later revealed on “The Classic Metal Show,” other reasons; particularly his problems with substance abuse. Scott Johnson of the Sacramento band Rogue filled in for a time on this tour. Eventually Dave Rude replaced Skeoch permanently.

‘Real to Reel’ (2007)

TESLA recorded a two-volume collection of cover songs titled Real to Reel, which was released on June 5, 2007. The recording is available as a 2-CD set. The first CD (containing 13 songs) is sold in a case with a blank slot for the second CD. The second CD (containing 12 additional songs) will initially be available to concert goers in the USA at no additional charge beyond the cost of a ticket. The second CD was also given away with the August edition of Classic Rock magazine in Europe.

At the end of August TESLA announced their first world tour in 16 years with dates in Australia, Japan, and Europe in October and November 2007.

‘Comin’ Atcha Live!’ & ‘Forever More’ (2008-2010)

In February 2008, TESLA helped fund and headlined a benefit concert for victims of the Station nightclub fire. The show was broadcast by VH1 Classic. TESLA played three songs: “What You Give”, “Signs”, and “Love Song”, though “What You Give” did not make it onto the broadcast.

In June and July 2008, TESLA played a few shows in Europe and the USA, including Sweden Rock Festival, Graspop Metal Meeting and Rocklahoma.

On July 15, 2008 “TESLA – Comin’ Atcha Live! 2008” was released from a live concert filmed February 22nd, 2008 at a sold out Myth Nightclub in Maplewood, Minnesota. The 2 hour show included hits “Modern Day Cowboy”, “Love Song” and “Song and Emotion” along with additional backstage footage.

On August 11, 2008, it was reported that TESLA’s next album, entitled Forever More, would be released on October 7 on their own record label, TESLA Electric Company Recordings. The album was produced by Terry Thomas, who produced Bust a Nut. Tesla cuts prices by $2,000 in US, Model Y back to its lowest price ever

Avatar for Jameson Dow

Tesla has dropped the price of the Model Y, Model S and Model X by $2,000 each in the US. Model 3 prices remain the same, as do prices of the newly-released Cybertruck.

Tesla has had quite the week, between firing 10% of its workforce and losing two key executives , filing to get CEO Elon Musk’s voided $55 billion pay package reinstated , and putting its upcoming $25k car on hold .

All this news comes after disappointing quarterly delivery results , with inventory rising to high levels .

Perhaps in anticipation of these poor delivery results, last quarter, Tesla put a “temporary” discount on the Model Y its most popular vehicle (and the world’s best-selling vehicle ), lowering prices by $1,000 for just a few weeks. After that discount lapsed, it warned buyers ahead of time that prices would increase again by $1,000 at the end of the quarter .

Those prices did indeed increase on April 1 – but now, less than three weeks later, the price is back down again.

As of today, Tesla has dropped prices on all trims of its Model Y, along with the Model S and Model X as well.

tesla tour song list

The Model Y RWD now starts at $42,990, down from $44,990. Model Y Long Range is $47,990, when it was previously $49,990. Model Y Performance is now $51,490, previously $53,490.

This is equivalent to the price of the Model Y during Tesla’s temporary discount in February , which only lasted a couple weeks.

tesla tour song list

Tesla’s more expensive Model S and X vehicles are now cheaper as well. While $2,000 isn’t as big a chunk of either of their prices, they’ve got the same discount as the Model Y did, with $2k taken off of each trim.

The Model S Long Range now starts at $72,990 and Model S Plaid at $87,990, with the Model X Long Range starting at $77,990 and Model X Plaid at $92,990.

This also happens to be the lowest price for the Model X ever, which also qualifies for the federal tax credit and thus could cost as little as $70,490 upfront (assuming you’re under the income cap, which many buyers of that vehicle won’t be).

Tesla has not referred to this as a “temporary” discount, unlike it did with Model Y’s last discount. This seems to just be a standard random Tesla price cut, as we’ve seen quite often, especially in the last couple years.

I tried to buy a tesla but I am 10 hours from the nearest dealership. I tried calling the dealership 3 times to ask how it works for out of state purchases (logistics) and after being out on hold multiple times each call I couldnt get direct anwsers.. my calls all went to a national call center and they coudlnt give solid anwsers on processes and said they would have the dealership call me... never got that call back. I went to my local Subaru and Hyundai dealerships test drove ioniq 5 and solterra and drove off in a Solterra Limited for 326/mo with 1000 down 3 year lease. Almost all the cons on the Solterra do not apply to me (range and slow charging) so I ended up with a great deal on a well equipped small suv.. its been great so far and seeing in the news yesterday that Telsa layed off a ton of their mobile service people makes me happier I avoided them where I am so far away from service centers.

The Model 3, which recently received a big refresh and is about to receive an updated “ludicrous” performance spec , still has the same purchase price as yesterday. However, as of two days ago, Tesla is now offering a $299/mo lease on the Model 3, whereas previously it had charged $329/mo.

Cheapest US Model Y ever?

At $42,990 base price, the Model Y is now a “$35k car” after taking into account federal EV incentives, which are now available upfront at point-of-sale .

This $35,490  post-incentive  price is tied for the cheapest price for the Tesla Model Y in the US yet, though the previous time Model Ys were this cheap was considered a “temporary discount” by Tesla. It beats the previous “permanent” low price of $36,490 .

Early on, Tesla had  offered  a Standard Range Model Y  as low as $39,990 , but at the time it did not qualify for the tax credit as Tesla’s credits under the previous law  had run out . Plus, it only appeared on the site for orders for a couple weeks,  showing up in early January 2021 , then  getting a price cut in February  before being  removed from the configurator a week later . It was supposedly still  available “off menu”  as a custom order for a while.

Footage From Taylor Swift’s ‘Eras Tour’ Rehearsals Hint She’s Adding ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ Songs

Taylor Swift European Eras Tour Rehearsals Seemingly Have Tortured Poets Department Clues

Taylor Swift might be gearing up to hold a Tortured Poets Department board meeting in the middle of her European Eras Tour concerts.

Swift, 34, uploaded a video of her tour prep to YouTube Shorts on Thursday, April 25, with the caption, “A fortnight till Paris.” In the clip, Swift practiced her setlist alongside her backup dancers.

While eagle-eyed fans noticed that Swift had run through performances of the likes of “Miss Americana & the Heartbreak Prince” and “Karma,” they also noticed snippets from a few numbers that had seemingly never been seen on stage.

In one instance, Swift played a white guitar and fans clocked that ivory hue matches the iconography of her new album , The Tortured Poets Department . There also appears to be a desk positioned on stage at one point in the video that could be another reference to the department. In another clip, Swift — wearing her now-viral PopFlex Active skort — leaned against a railing with white letters in the center. Fans have speculated the letters spell out “TTPD.”

“That’s the TTPD logo on the railing,” one user pointed out via X. “Omg TTPD is getting her own set at The Eras Tour !”

Swift also wore black lace-up heels as she posed on the railing, which other social media users compared to the similar Victorian-inspired pumps she sported in her “Fortnight” music video with Post Malone . (“Fortnight” is also the lead single off of TTPD.)

Another moment in the YouTube clip shows Swift surrounded by her backup dancers, the latter of whom are wearing circus-inspired top hats. Fans believe it is teeing up a TTPD performance of “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” because of the big top lyrical reference, “I was tame, I was gentle ’til the circus life made me mean / ‘Don’t you worry, folks, we took out all her teeth.”

Another social media fan speculated: “Why do I feel like these are definitely rehearsal pics for TTPD songs ‘cause when have we ever had the dancers with hats and sticks.”

A selection of Swifties even think that they figured out the entire TTPD set that will be added based on an Instagram post by Pandora. The streaming station posted a “What song are you listening to next from The Tortured Poets Department?” graphic, specifically naming “Fortnight,” “The Alchemy,” “But Daddy I Love Him” “Down Bad” and “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.” Swift’s official fan account, Taylor Nation, reshared the upload onto its Instagram Story page on Thursday.

One of Apple Music’s Swift-themed playlists, aptly titled “Taylor Swift Essentials,” has since been updated to include “Fortnight” and “Down Bad,” which other fans think further tease setlist plans. Apple’s official Eras “Setlist” playlist, however, has not been updated to include any TTPD hits.

Swift kicked off her Eras Tour in March 2023, traversing the United States and Central America to perform her sold-out show before beginning the international leg. Following overseas shows in Japan, Australia and Singapore earlier this year, Swift has currently been on a month long hiatus.

The Grammy winner’s next show is in Paris on Thursday, May 9, but she has not publicly revealed if or how the set list is changing to accommodate TTPD . It is also possible that the newly released tracks could pop up during her acoustic “surprise song” section .

Is Taylor Swift Adding Tortured Poets Songs to the Eras Tour Set List in 2024?

By Vansh Mehra

With the new album The Tortured Poets Department now out, Taylor Swift fans are wondering if the pop star will be adding a few of its songs to the Eras Tour setlist for the rest of the 2024 concerts. Here’s everything you need to know.

Are Taylor Swift’s Tortured Poets songs being added to The Eras Tour?

Based on a YouTube short with a few clips of Swift’s rehearsals, fans have picked up clues suggesting that she will be adding new songs from The Tortured Poets Department to her 2024 Eras Tour setlist.

On May 9, Taylor Swift will take the stage once again to begin the European leg of her Eras Tour. Her usual concerts last just over three hours with her performing around 45 songs on average. But with The Tortured Poets Department, she has 31 more songs to choose from.

Swift recently added the above video showing moments from her rehearsals. But breaking down the video, fans believe that she teased the addition of a few tracks from The Tortured Poets Department into her upcoming concerts.

TikTok user ‘ Nikkiking23 ’ posted the following video presenting a few pieces of evidence suggesting the addition of The Tortured Poets Department songs to Taylor Swift’s Paris concert and beyond:

@nikkiking23 DID SHE JUST CONFIRM THAT SHE’s CHANGING THE SETLIST TO INCLUDE #THETORTUREDPOETSDEPARTMENT ?!? #taylorswift #swifttok #swiftie #swiftok #swiftietiktok #ttpd #ttpdtaylorswift #taylornation #swifties #tstheerastour #pariststheerastour @swiftiesweetheart @Alex Day ? @Lysss117 ♬ original sound – Nikki

While this isn’t confirmed yet, Swift could surprise fans across her European, American, and Canadian tours.

However, since the concerts are already big shows, she could choose to condense a few old songs or even remove them to incorporate the new songs. If this happens, it would be interesting to see how fans react to a change to her setlist.

Will Taylor Swift sing ‘Fortnight’ during The Eras Tour 2024 shows?

Fans believe that Taylor Swift hinted at singing Fortnight from The Tortured Poets Department album during The Eras Tour 2024 shows.

Swift hasn’t confirmed whether she will sing The Tortured Poets Department songs during her upcoming shows. However, it’s likely for “Fortnight” to be one of the songs she picks, if she chooses to sing new ones.

Fortnight is the lead song of The Tortured Poets Department. Considering that the European tour starts in a fortnight and Swift’s above video heavily teases the song “Fortnight,” it’s likely that Swift will at least perform this new song in Paris on May 9, and perhaps beyond.

Neil Young Stuns at 2024 Tour Launch, Unveils Lost ‘Cortez the Killer’ Verse

By Andy Greene

Andy Greene

In typical Neil Young fashion, virtually nothing was revealed about his 2024 U.S. tour before it kicked off Wednesday night at San Diego’s Cal Coast Credit Union Open Air Theatre, other than the fact he’d be backed by Crazy Horse , and that Micah Nelson would be taking over guitar duties from Nils Lofgren. Would he pull a Greendale and debut an entire rock opera nobody had ever heard? Would he focus the set around the three new studio albums he cut with Crazy Horse between 2019 and 2022? Might he repeat the concept of his 2023 solo tour by spotlighting obscure Eighties and Nineties album tracks and skipping most of his hits?

They jammed for six minutes before Young sang the opening lines, igniting the crowd into a frenzy, but the big moment came near the end, when he began singing completely unfamiliar words. As he teased earlier this month , it was the legendary lost segment of the song that failed to record during the 1975 Zuma sessions because the console briefly lost power. Young recently found the lyric manuscript, and worked out where they originally fit in the song.

“I floated on the water,” Young sang. “I ate that ocean wave/Two weeks after the slaughter/I was living in a cave/They came too late to get me/But there’s no one here to set me free/From this rocky grave/To that snowed-out ocean wave.”

It was a remarkable moment to witness. After 49 years and over 540 live performances, the world finally got to hear the song as Young originally wrote it.

Editor’s picks

The 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history, every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term.

Young was talking about “Scattered (Let’s Think About Livin’),” from 1996’s Broken Arrow, which was the newest song they played all evening. The rest of the set was music recorded when Briggs was alive, largely between 1969 and 1979, beginning with “Don’t Cry No Tears.” He followed it up with a triple shot of Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere : “Down by the River,” “The Losing End,” and the title track. And it was a particularly mesmerizing “Down by the River” that stretched out for 16 blissful minutes.

Pearl jam, neil young, alanis morissette lead ohana fest 2024, phish reach jam-band bliss at the sphere in las vegas.

After the Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere mini-set, the quartet (Crazy Horse 4.0?) kicked into one of the greatest renditions of “Powderfinger” I’ve ever heard, thanks to improvisational guitar work prior to each verse by Young and Nelson. What came next was a 16-minute “Love and Only Love,” the band walking offstage, and then Young strapping on an harmonica rack for solo acoustic renditions of “Comes a Time,” “Heart of Gold,” and “Human Highway” that had the entire amphitheater singing along.

The band returned to wrap up the night with “Don’t Be Denied,” an autobiographical tale that carries a lot more emotional weight when Young sings it at age 78 as opposed to 28, and a thrashed-out “Hey Hey, My My (Into the Black).”

He might duplicate this exact set when the tour continues the following night at the same venue. He might not repeat a single song. He may even perform a complete classic album, which is something he started doing late last year. The joy of seeing Neil Young is that you never have any idea what’s going to happen once the lights dim.
