Produced by Live Nation and featuring Bob the Drag Queen (Caldwell Tidicue) at all dates on the tour, the music event will honor Madonna’s musical journey across four decades with a special celebration of New York, the city where her career began. “I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for,” Madonna said in a statement included in her tour announcement .

Live Nation has confirmed the newly rescheduled tour dates for Madonna ‘s “Celebration” tour. After having suffered through a “ serious bacterial infection ,” Madonna had to put a halt to the start of her 80-show jaunt but has recently recovered and is now ready to hit the road.

The North American leg of the trek will kick off immediately after the originally announced UK and Europe dates with a start date of Dec. 13 in Brooklyn at Barclays Center. Due to scheduling conflicts, the following shows have been canceled: July 27 in Tulsa, Dec. 22 in Nashville, Jan. 15 in San Francisco, Jan. 18 in Las Vegas, and Jan. 20 in Phoenix. Find tickets on Ticketmaster and Vivid Seats .

“Getting all shows rescheduled was the number one priority,” said Live Nation in a statement. “Unfortunately, due to scheduling conflicts, a few shows noted below will be canceled. Madonna regrets the inconvenience to fans and hopes to make it up to those markets in the future.”

The previously scheduled European dates are slated to begin on Oct. 14 in London and will visit different cities across the European mainland for seven weeks before concluding with two more London dates on Dec. 5 and 6.

The North American tour was originally scheduled to begin July 15 in Vancouver and rehearsals were nearing completion, but the singer was rushed to the hospital on June 24 due to an unspecified “serious bacterial infection” that led to a several-day stay in an intensive care unit, according to an Instagram post from her manager Guy Oseary .

In another post shared on the singer’s Instagram in late July, Madonna shared gratitude for her fans, team and family and said she “realized how lucky I am to be alive.”

“Love from family and friends is the best medicine,” she wrote in a caption to a photo carousel of her with family and friends. “One month out of the hospital and I can reflect. As a mother you can really get caught up In the needs of your children and the seemingly endless giving… But when the chips were down my children really showed up for me. I saw a side to them I had never seen before. It made all the difference. So did the love and support from my friends.”

During her first week of the Celebration Tour at a stop in Antwerp, Belgium, Madonna took a minute to address her recent hospitalization. “Less than four months ago, I was in a hospital and I was unconscious, and people were thinking, predicting that I might not make it,” Madonna told fans at Belgium’s Sportpaleis Arena. “So, it’s a fucking miracle that I’m here right now. My mother, God bless her, she must be watching over me — she said, ‘Girl, it’s not your time to go.'”

Madonna also recently spoke about the “near-death experience” during her Los Angeles concert in March, even addressing her doctor who was in the audience and the first words she said after getting out of her coma .

“It’s called a near-death experience, and I’m not kidding, it was pretty scary,” Madonna said. “Obviously, I didn’t know for four days because I was in an induced coma, but when I woke up, the first word I said was, ‘No.’ Anyway, that’s what my assistant tells me.”

The icon later told the audience, including this writer, at the Forum, “I’m pretty sure that God was saying to me, ‘You want to come with? You want to come with us, wanna go this way?’ And I said, ‘No!'”

“The oppression of the LGBTQ+ is not only unacceptable and inhumane; it’s creating an unsafe environment; it makes America a dangerous place for our most vulnerable citizens, especially trans women of color,” Madonna shared in a statement on Instagram. “Also, these so-called laws to protect our children are unfounded and pathetic. Anyone with half a brain knows not to fuck with a drag queen. Bob and I will see you from the stage in Nashville where we will celebrate the beauty that is the queer community.”

With dates scheduled throughout April 2024, Madonna will continue to travel all across the United States for the Celebration Tour , including stops in Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and Austin.

Madonna announces new North American dates for her Celebration Tour

August 15, 2023 / 4:41 PM EDT / CBS News

Madonna has announced the rescheduled North American dates of her global Celebration Tour, several weeks after she was hospitalized for a bacterial infection. The singer released the new dates on her website Tuesday, a day before her 65th birthday.

The tour will now kick off in Europe on the originally scheduled dates. Starting in London on October 14, Madonna will go on to play in Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Spain, Portugal, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands before touring North America.

Madonna was supposed to start her tour in Vancouver, Canada, on July 15, but Madonna postponed it after spending several days in the ICU in late June due to a "serious bacterial infection," her manager said at the time.

Less than two weeks later, Madonna took to social media to confirm she was "on the road to recovery" and "getting stronger."

"My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children," the singer wrote. "My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour. I also didn't want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show. I hate to disappoint anyone."

"Live Nation is pleased to confirm that most of the North America dates of Madonna's Celebration Tour have been rescheduled and will take place immediately following the originally announced UK and Europe dates," the statement on Madonna's website said.

All tickets for previously scheduled shows will be honored on the new dates, with a few exceptions. Due to venue changes, the shows in Los Angeles and one show in New York will require fresh purchases — ticketholders will be refunded and given priority for the new venues.

Additionally, certain shows in Tulsa, Nashville, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Phoenix had to be canceled due to scheduling conflicts. "Madonna regrets the inconvenience to fans and hopes to make it up to those markets in the future," the statement said.

The Celebration Tour's North American leg will now begin in Brooklyn on December 13 and wrap up in Mexico City in April 2024.

The tour promises to cover all four decades of Madonna's remarkable career, which began with the 1982 song "Everybody" and rose to national prominence the following year with the song "Holiday."

"I am excited to explore as many songs as possible in hopes to give my fans the show they have been waiting for," Madonna said when she announced the tour in January.

Madonna announces her rescheduled Celebration tour dates

Madonna has announced her rescheduled Celebration tour dates in North America.

On Aug. 15, the music icon and Live Nation announced in a press release that the dates for the North American leg of her greatest hits tour, which was supposed to begin last month, have been rescheduled.

Live Nation revealed that the pop superstar’s Celebration tour will now kick off stateside following her United Kingdom and Europe dates. She will play some of her biggest hits on opening night of the American leg Dec. 13 at Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

“Tickets for the previously scheduled shows will be honored on the new dates,” the press release said, except for one show in New York City and six shows in Los Angeles.

However, there are some shows that could not be rescheduled at all due to a change in venue or scheduling conflicts. The following shows have been canceled: July 27 in Tulsa, Oklahoma; Dec. 22 in Nashville; Jan. 15 in San Francisco, Jan. 18 in Las Vegas; and January 20 in Phoenix, Arizona.

“Madonna regrets the inconvenience to fans and hopes to make it up to those markets in the future,” the press release continued.

Fans who purchased tickets to those shows will be issued refunds at the original point of purchase.

Why was her tour rescheduled?

Madonna decided to postpone her tour less than one month out from when it was supposed to begin due to a hospitalization.

In June, the “Material Girl” singer spent multiple days in the intensive care unit after battling a “serious bacterial infection,” her manager, Guy Oseary, informed fans at the time.

“On Saturday, June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several-day stay in the ICU,” he wrote in an Instagram post on June 28. “Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.”

He continued, “At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour. We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.”

Madonna's Celebration tour, which will highlight four-decades worth of music, was originally supposed to start on July 15 in Vancouver, Canada.

On July 10, Madonna shared a health update on Instagram .

“My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children,” she wrote. “My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour. I didn’t want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show. I didn’t want to disappoint anyone.”

She told her fans she would prioritize her health so she could get back on stage as soon as possible.

New tour dates

Most of the shows have been rescheduled to a new date at the same venue, but a few shows will be performed in a different location. Fans who bought tickets to the Madison Square Garden concert in New York City for Aug. 27 will have “an exclusive opportunity” to buy tickets to a new performance added to the tour at Barclays Center on Dec. 16, the press release said.

Fans who had tickets for Los Angeles shows on Sept. 27, Sept. 28, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at Crypto.com Arena and on Jan. 7 and Jan. 8 at Kia Forum will be able to purchase tickets for newly added dates at Kia Forum in Inglewood, California on March 4, March 5, March 7, March 9 and March 11.

Madonna reveals rescheduled Celebration tour dates for 2024 after bacterial infection

Bob the Drag Queen will accompany Madonna for the new set of dates.

the celebration tour madonna dates

There's finally a ray of light at the end of Madonna 's health scare, as the pop icon has revealed her rescheduled Celebration tour dates after suffering an infection in June.

After postponing the first leg of her Celebration world tour amid hospitalization in the intensive care unit , the 64-year-old revealed Tuesday that the initial North American portion of the concert series will now take place in early 2024, kicking off on Jan. 8 in Massachusetts and concluding on April 21 in Mexico.

Scheduling conflicts, however, forced the cancellation of several dates, including July 27 in Tulsa, Dec. 22 in Nashville, Jan. 15 in San Francisco, Jan. 18 in Las Vegas, and Jan. 20 in Phoenix.

Madonna also moved a summer date originally set for Aug. 27 at New York City's Madison Square Garden to a block of previously announced December 2023 dates at Brooklyn's Barclays Center.

Fans holding tickets to the previously scheduled Madison Square Garden concert will have "an exclusive opportunity to purchase tickets to the newly added Barclays Center performance," according to a press release, which also notes that tickets for the original show will be refunded by Monday, Aug. 28. Ticketmaster is expected to send affected purchasers with a link and a code based on their earlier seat locations. The advance sale begins Tuesday, Aug. 29 and runs through Thursday, Aug. 31. A similar system will be used for fans with tickets to the postponed Crypto.com Arena shows in Los Angeles.

All other tickets from the original shows will be honored at the rescheduled dates.

The postponed dates come two months after Madonna's manager, Guy Oseary, revealed that the superstar contracted a "serious bacterial infection" that prompted her to delay the highly anticipated tour, which EW has confirmed will still embark with special guest, RuPaul's Drag Race winner Bob the Drag Queen .

"On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several day stay in the ICU. Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected," he said in a statement. "At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour. We will share more details with you as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows."

Amid statements of support from friends like Debi Mazar and Rosie O'Donnell , Madonna gave fans an update on her health via an emotional social media post in July.

"Thank you for your positive energy, Prayers and words of healing and encouragement. I have felt your love. I'm on the road to recovery and incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life," she wrote on Instagram . "My first thought when I woke up in the hospital was my children. My second thought was that I did not want to disappoint anyone who bought tickets for my tour. I also didn't want to let down the people who worked tirelessly with me over the last few months to create my show. I hate to disappoint anyone."

See the full list of Madonna's rescheduled Celebration tour dates below, set to debut after the tour officially launches with four London shows in October.
