Travel Fashion Girl help! A reader question from the TFG Facebook Group :

What are your recommendations for the best travel tea kettle ? It sounds ridiculous to some, I’m sure. However, my husband likes to have a few cups of coffee every day while we travel. Most hotel rooms only have a coffee maker, so I’m always stuck with tea that tastes like coffee or no tea at all.

When on vacation, you need your hot morning drink just as much as when you are at home. But when traveling, you don’t always have access to your essential kitchen utilities, such as coffee makers and electric kettles.

So, what do you do? Portable kettles or even an immersion water boiler can be tucked into your suitcase and used in your accommodation.

Our readers share their tips on how to make a cup of tea or coffee when abroad with their recommendations for the best travel kettle you can take with you anywhere!

The Best Travel Kettle

T ravel tea kettles can entail collapsible or stainless steel models that are compact and packable and can usually accommodate up to two cups.

Why Be Aware When Using a Travel Size Electric Tea Kettle?

Most electrical appliances can use up a fair amount of electricity so it’s particularly important that they are used with the correct voltage.

For example, in the US we use 110-120V whereas in Europe they use 220-240V. If we plug our electronics into each other’s outlets, they can blow a fuse and stop working. In some cases, they can even fry your hair. The video below can also shed light on adapters, converters, and the right voltage:

Learn about travel adapters, converters, and voltage in this video !

It’s important to understand that an adaptor and converter are NOT the same things. An adapter fits the outlets and a converter changes the electrical current so your electronics don’t blow a fuse!

Michelle Otten

my husband LOVES tea. he was going to bring our kettle on his last trip, but decided to leave it home instead. one of these portable kettles would be the perfect gift for him, especially a collapsible one.

Jennifer Hart

So happy I read this post! Going with GF’s to see Rod Stewart in Vegas this November. I really like my coffee in bed in the morning and want to bring a electric kettle with me for the convenience. One of these will work perfectly for this situation! Thanks!

Lindsey

Oh, I love this idea. I already take individual packets of matcha tea and collagen, but often have a hard time making clean hot water (using a used coffee maker is not the vibe).

Patti McConnell

Given that my travelling has been limited to the US and staying in hotels or with family, I really hadn’t thought much about being able to have my morning coffee and evening tea when I’m not at home. This article has lots of great ideas that I will be incorporating as I prepare for a trip overseas in a couple of years.

Grace Redovich

So many options! Looking forward to fresh hot coffee on the road.

Raylene Lawrence

I purchased the Loutytuo kettle as recommended by another TFG reader. I loved it so much and used it more often than I expected. I even purchased one for my granddaughter who is at university to take with her on long days at the lab and library. She make Ramen as well as hot tea! Go figure! ♥️

Amy Davey

Yes!! I love this! I have started traveling with an immersion coil heater (I stick it right in my toiletries bag) and a plastic baggie of tea bags and instant coffee. Sometimes I just need that little comfort of home while I’m traveling.

Whether you want to increase the cosiness of a home office , a bedroom or a garden shed, the best electric heaters offer short bursts of targeted warmth to heat up a room, so you don’t need to go to the expense of warming up the whole house.

There are lots of different heaters out there but the main types are convection heaters and fan heaters. Convection heaters circulate air through the appliance and are often strong and silent whereas fan heaters blow air over a heating element to provide a blissful blast of warm air.

Each type of heater varies in energy efficiency and running costs as well as maximum operating temperatures and additional features such as timers and remote controls. Read on to find out which ones offer the most value for money.

How we tested.

Working from home, we put the portable heaters through their paces in a chilly Victorian terrace house during early winter. Once the heating had been off for a few hours post-school run, we cranked up a portable heater to the top and timed how long it took to heat up the room, setting a stopwatch on our phone to record an accurate measurement. We used a room temperature thermometer to measure how hot the room got. We also took into account size, portability, design and ease of use when choosing our favourites.

Duux threesixty 2 portable smart ceramic heater

Duux ThreeSixty Smart Heater.jpg

  • Best : Electric heater overall
  • Size : 33.8cm x 26.2cm x 26.2cm
  • Weight : 2.4kg
  • Heater type : Ceramic and fan
  • Heater output : 1,800W
  • Timer : Yes
  • Easy to operate via the Duux app
  • The highest temperature you can set is 30C

We liked this cylinder-shaped heater as soon as we pulled it out of the box. With smooth curves and no edges, it blended in seamlessly with the decor of each room we used it in. We tested the grey design but it also comes in white, to suit lighter colour schemes.

It can be operated by controls on the front of the device, but we preferred to sync it to the Duux app on our phone. That way, we could power it on and off from the comfort of the sofa. We found that the air outlet on the top of the unit was able to distribute heat evenly, rather than just directly ahead of it, and it was powerful enough to warm up a room of 30sqm. For £100, we found it to be a well-made, good-looking heater that we could use throughout the year.

NETTA ceramic fan heater 2,000W

  • Best : Budget electric heater
  • Size : 16.4cm x 12.3cm x 23.1cm
  • Weight : 1.34kg
  • Heater type : Ceramic, fan
  • Heater output : 2,000W
  • Heats up a room fast
  • Has an integrated carry handle
  • No timer setting

For less than £25, this small but perfectly formed heater packs a serious punch. As it’s a ceramic heater, it’s cost-effective to run, as the ceramic element generates more resistance than a metal one, generating more heat per watt.

This is also one of the simplest heaters to operate straight out of the box, as there’s no app, no remote control and no timer. It just has two dials on the front – one for power wattage settings and the other for a thermostat. We liked to whack it up to 2,000W and turn the thermostat up to the max, and found it was more than capable of generating enough heat for a 15sqm home office. It was also one of the fastest working heaters we tested, making the room feel distinctly warmer in a little under five minutes.

Vortex Air cleanse heater, cooler and purifier

Blank 2048 x 1536 - 2024-02-20T114723.587.png

  • Best : For year-round use
  • Size : 26.92cm x 18cm x 85.6 cm
  • Weight : 5kg
  • Heater output : 1900W
  • Heater type : Bladeless fan
  • Purifies air as well as heats
  • Oscillates 120 degrees

Sleek, sturdy and multi-functional, there’s a lot to like about the Vortex Air cleanse. It’s an appliance that can be used all-year-round as it can be used as a heater, a fan and an air purifier. In essence, it does the same job as the Dyson Hot + Cool for £179.99, which is half the cost.

Design-wise, we couldn’t fault it. During testing, several visitors to the house mistook it for a Dyson and they were all amazed by its price. The bladeless design offers smooth air flow around the heater and it oscillates 120 degress to ensure it distributes heat evenly. There are a massive 10 different temperature settings, so you can precisely control the warmth in a room, as well as a timer that allows you to customise heat settings for up to nine hours. And let’s not forget that it’s cleaning air as well as heating it, capturing dust and allergens with its advanced HEPA system. We enjoyed some deep sleeps when testing this in the bedroom, which could have something to do with being able to breathe better at night thanks to its purification feature.

DeLonghi capsule ceramic fan heater, cream

Blank 2048 x 1536 copy 2 (93).png

  • Best : For carrying between rooms
  • Size : 19.2 cm x 13.7cm x 27cm
  • Weight : 1.3kg
  • Heater output : 1800W
  • Heater type : Ceramic fan
  • Lightweight
  • Minimalist design

With a streamlined, compact shape, this looks more like a luxury speaker than a fan, which is good news to anyone who wants a heater but doesn’t want anything ugly taking up space in their home. The brown carry handle offsets the cream main unit perfectly, adding a design element to an otherwise functional appliance. It’s ergonomically shaped and easy to hold when moving it between rooms, helped by the fact that it only weighs 1.3kg.

It was one of the smallest heaters we tested, measuring just 27cm high, but it was unexpectedly powerful and able to heat an area of 55 square metres well. Two power settings mean you can control how hot you’d like it, but you do need to manually switch the knobs as there is no auto-timer.

Dyson pure hot+cool purifying fan heater

  • Best : For heating up a space fast
  • Size : 63.2cm x 22.2cm x 11.2cm
  • Weight : 3.94kg
  • Can be used in the summer as a cooling fan
  • It’s quite noisy

While £400 is a lot of money to part with for a heater, especially during a cost-of-living crisis, it’s important to note the Dyson hot+cool is both a heater and a fan, so it can keep a room at the perfect temperature year-round. In fan mode, you can choose from 10 different settings, while the heater has two powerful modes for long-range personal heating or fast, even room heating.

When we say fast, we mean Usain Bolt’s level of speed, raising the temperature from chilly to cosy in a matter of minutes. We also found it was quite energy-efficient to operate. Once we’d used the remote to set the temperature in degrees Celsius, the fan kicked in straightaway and then shut off when the room was up to temperature. We wouldn’t recommend sitting close to it, as it’s quite noisy, but the sound doesn’t carry, so you won’t notice it as much if you place it on the opposite side of the room.

Dreo electric heater, 1,500W

  • Best : Tabletop electric heater
  • Size : 15.3cm x 15.3cm x 24.5cm
  • Weight : 1.38kg
  • Heater output : 1,500W
  • Heats up to 35C

If you like to feel ultra warm, this heater can raise the temperature to 35C, which is higher than other heaters we tested. While it doesn’t have a remote control or an app, it’s easy to adjust the temperature in 1C increments, using the buttons on the top of the heater. There’s also an LCD screen showing you how hot it is and reminding you the appliance is on. This reminder is more useful than you might imagine, as it’s so quiet you barely notice it’s there. Even on the highest setting, it only reaches 34dB, thanks to a winglet fan design that reduces turbulence and noise.

We placed it under our desk to feel the heat. Its compact size would also make it a great fan for the bedside table and we’d be able to sleep easy with it on, as it has overheat protection, a timer of up to 12 hours and tip-over protection.

Black + Decker BXSH37005GB fan heater

  • Best : Under-desk electric heater
  • Size : 10.5cm x 26cm x 24cm
  • Weight : 1.23kg
  • Heater type : Convection
  • Heat output : 2,000W
  • Extremely light and easy to carry

This bulky plastic heater won’t win any prizes for prettiness, but that doesn’t matter too much if you place it under a desk, out of sight. It has two heat settings, so you can choose whether to use it at 1,000W or 2,000W of power, and an adjustable thermostat, so you can control how hot you want to feel, up to 35C. We loved how it warmed up our legs from under the table as if we were snuggled up under several blankets.

According to Black+Decker, it costs around 68p per hour to run, which is a lot cheaper than central heating. It also comes with a two-year guarantee, to make it even better value for money.

Shark three-in-one purifier, heater and fan

  • Best : Electric heater for damp rooms
  • Size : 51cm x 22cm x 22cm
  • Weight : 5.8kg
  • Heater type : Fan
  • It’s a fan, air purifier and heater in one
  • It’s quite heavy

When the outside temperature drops, the air quality inside our homes often decreases and it starts to feel stuffy. Damp can also accumulate, especially if you are drying wet clothes on hot radiators. But this multi-tasking appliance from Shark has got air quality and heating covered, as it purifies the air at the same time as warming it up. It can be used in all seasons, too, thanks to a fan functionality that will be a godsend in summer heatwaves.

When used in the bedroom, we appreciated the heater’s oscillation, which meant it shot out heat in all angles. But we found it even more useful in the large, open-plan living room, where it was more than capable of heating up the room to our preferred temperature of 32C and maintaining it, so we didn’t need to keep switching it on and off.

Another unique function is odour-lock technology, which can remove and neutralise smells caused by the likes of pets and cooking. While we’re not sure how well it worked to remove the smell of a takeaway curry one evening, it did give us peace of mind that something was working in the background to make the air around us easier to breathe.

Beldray quiet electric fan heater

  • Best : Electric heater for portability
  • Size : 22.5cm x 12.5cm x 26.5cm
  • Weight : 1.15kg
  • Has a convenient carry handle
  • When using for long periods of time, it turns off

What this lacks in looks due to its functional, utilitarian design, it more than makes up for in heating power. The hot air jets on this compact heater are powerful, and we did enjoy whacking it up to the top setting and sitting near it like a cat next to a fireplace.

We loved the rubber feet (which didn’t leave dents in the carpet) and the carry handle made it convenient to move from room to room. For example, we used it in the home office while working and then unplugged it and took it to the kitchen when it was lunchtime, so we could feel comfortable all day.

However, using it for several hours did cause the overheat mode to kick in, and we found it shut down occasionally. When that happened, we simply left it off for 10 minutes and powered it on again. It wasn’t a problem when we used the heater for less than two hours, so we still think it’s a great little heater for short bursts of heat.

Everhot electric heater with stove, sage

  • Best : Electric heater for design
  • Size : 27.2cm x 27.8cm x 27.5cm
  • Weight : 50kg
  • Heat output : 1.5kW
  • It has an in-built oven
  • Majority of heated air escapes via heat vent

Solid, sturdy and subtly glamorous, this is not just a heater – it’s a design statement. Fusing traditional country-house style with modern heating efficiency, the Everhot can be left on display and provide a talking point when house guests first spot it. When we tested it, everyone from The Waitrose delivery driver to a school mum picking up her child from a playdate commented on how “gorgeous” it looked. This may be down to the manufacturing process, as each Everhot oven is built by hand with the care of craftspeople in their headquarters in the Cotswolds. It’s available in 20 colourways, made from cast iron and steel with an aluminium top vent and designed to last a lifetime.

Shortly after turning on the stove, we felt heat coming from the main vent and after around 30 minutes the main body of the stove was up to temperature and radiating gentle warming heat into the room. Being able to access a 20l stove by opening the heater’s front door was a novelty at first, but when used to slow cook some jacket potatoes instead of turning on our main oven, the verdict was they tasted better than ever.

Russell Hobbs 2,000W electric convection plug-in heater with timer

  • Best : Electric heater for large spaces
  • Size : 67.5cm x 48cm x 20cm
  • Weight : 3.88kg
  • The integrated timer allowed us to pre-program it
  • It takes up more space than most fan heaters

This arrived in a large box, so we weren’t sure how portable it would be. However, our fears evaporated once we lifted it out and found that it was a very manageable 4kg, which is about the weight of a newborn baby. There are even integrated carry handles, so we were able to move it from room to room as well as up and down stairs.

It’s not pleasant on the eye but it is brilliant for homes with pets or kids, thanks to a safety function that ensures automatic shut off if it gets knocked over. We also appreciated the in-built thermostat, which meant we could turn it on and forget about it. This heater was excellent at heating a room to a set temperature, powering off while the room stayed at that temperature and then whizzing into action again if it detected a decrease. It can heat rooms of up to 20 sq m, keeping the whole family in the living room for games nights or movies.

Dreamland silent power eco heater

  • Best : Electric heater for conserving energy
  • Size : 32cm x 23.2cm x 22cm
  • Weight : 2.25kg
  • Heater output : 2,100W
  • Uses 35 per cent less energy than standard portable heaters
  • Makes the whole room significantly warmer
  • Quiet when on

According to Dreamland, this model uses 35 per cent less energy than standard portable heaters, helping you save money on the cost of heating your home. We found it great for adding extra warmth to our home office while working remotely.

With 2,100W of power, it didn’t just heat the area next to the desk, it made the whole room significantly warmer. So much so, we had to turn down the heat setting, using the adjustable dial on the top of the heater, as the highest setting was too powerful. Even better, we could not hear it at all, thanks to its silent-power technology.

Portable heaters FAQs

Are electric heaters expensive to run.

The cost of electricity per hour is higher than gas, meaning electric heaters can be quite costly if you use them for long periods of time. That said, you can use an electric heater to target one room rather than turn on the central heating for all rooms, which should save you money.

How much does an electric heater cost to run?

The cost of running an electric heater depends on its size and power output. The best way to work out how much it costs to run is to look at your electricity bill to find out how much energy costs per kilowatt. If this is 29p per kilowatt, then a heater with a 2kW power output will cost 58p per hour to run, and so on.

What is the cheapest electric heater to run?

The Everhot electric heater with stove (£1,495, Everhotessentials.co.uk ) gives out between 0.3kW and 1.5kW of heat an hour, depending on how high you run it. So, with a standard electricity cost of 29p per kWh, your heater would cost between 9p and 45p per hour.

Which is the best electric heater?

In this tried and tested review, the Duux threesixty 2 smart portable ceramic heater (£99.99, Amazon.co.uk ) was found to be the best electric heater, thanks to the fact it is powerful enough to warm up large spaces, distributes heat evenly and is easy to operate manually or by using the Duux app.

The verdict: Portable heaters

With a stylish design and an intuitive app, the Duux threesixty 2 feels a lot more expensive than its price tag. We were impressed by how it dispersed heat into the entire room and by how we didn’t need to be anywhere near it to power it on. Meanwhile, we really loved having an oven built into the Everhot design, but appreciate it’s an expensive purchase, especially when it was possible to generate heat for less than £25 with the Netta ceramic fan heater.

For extra cosiness, snuggle up under one of the best electric blankets that will keep you warm through winter

Table of Contents

When you are full-time, you will hit winter sooner or later. My friends and I usually spend our winter in AZ, NV, or CA for warmer climates. Even though I sleep with multiple blankets and don’t usually need a heater for the night, I still need something to keep me warm during the evenings. I sometimes have electric hook-up, so instead of running my propane furnace, I use small ceramic heaters. Other times, I just now use my Wave propane radiant heater. I personally love it.

This expensive heater is the best small RV space heater and is worth every penny. It’s way more efficient than other types of propane heaters. The RV furnace is the worst! I have a small 1-gallon propane tank I connect it with and use it to heat my rig during the evenings, I just have to make sure I have enough ventilation. While you don’t have to get yourself the same heater as I use. At the end of the day, it all boils down to personal preferences, space availability, and budget.

All you have to do is get yourself an RV heater that suits you. RV heaters are very convenient since they are very good in energy efficiency. You can just plug them into your electric hook-up and be set. Durability is also another advantage that RV heaters have. RV heaters are also very cost-efficient. They’re energy-efficient and affordable, making them very ideal for people who live or stay in RV parks. There are a lot of options to choose from, and there’s bound to be one that suits your needs.

Given that you know how to take care of it, your space heater should last you a very long time.

No products found.

Here are some things that you can do to prolong the life of your RV heater:

If you use an electric heater, unplug the electric cord when it’s not in use. This way, you save power and prevent overheating which could cause damage to your heater if left plugged in for too long. You can use most heaters overnight, but if it’s not freezing cold, consider using more blankets rather than having your heater on. It might seem logical to just leave it running overnight, but even an ordinary space heater could be a fire hazard if left plugged in while you sleep. Make sure you have a fire alarm .

Clean with a damp cloth. When you clean your electric RV heater, unplug the cord and remove any dirt or dust with a damp cloth. DO NOT use water to rinse it down because that could damage the heater’s heating element. If there is stubborn dirt or dust on your electric space heater, just use a vacuum cleaner with soft bristles to brush them off.

Buy a cover for it. Most RV heaters come with a cover, but if yours doesn’t and you feel like getting one is necessary, then go ahead and buy another cover. A cover can prevent dust from accumulating inside your heater and might even keep small animals out of it too.

Space Consideration When Buying RV Heaters

There are some factors that you must consider before purchasing an RV heater. Since space can be quite limited inside RVs, you need to consider how much room your heater will take up. Make sure that the one you’re buying is able to fit in the spot where you want it to be. If there’s not enough clearance under or behind your bed to place your heater, then don’t get that particular model.

The wrong size may also result in overheating, which would damage your heater. This poses a fire hazard, not to mention the possibility of you getting burnt or your RV catching fire. With that in mind, buying a heater with suitable ventilation also plays a crucial role.

If you have full hook-ups and electricity, you can use a small electric heater. If you are boondocking, you will be better off with a propane heater or your furnace. Your furnace wastes so much propane, which is why you might want to think of alternatives.

When using heaters, you have to ensure that your smoke detector works. Place the smoke detector a few feet above your heater. If you’re using propane, make sure to use a small heater with high BTU output.

Bottom line: When looking for a small RV space heater, you want something that’s cost-efficient and easy to run. You also need something that can fit in tight spaces and not take up too much room. It should also be easy to move around and shouldn’t be a fire hazard.

These are the ones I found to have the best reviews.

Types of Heaters

There are two different types of RV heaters; radiant heaters and conventional heaters. Radiant heaters work by heating the objects in the room, while convectional heaters work by circulating heat in the surrounding air in the room. Convectional heaters are more common than radiant heaters.

Radiant heaters

Radiant heaters are generally safe to use around children and pets because they don’t emit any hot air. However, make sure that the area is well-ventilated to avoid overheating or fire hazards. When you buy an RV heater, make sure to get one with a tip-over switch. This way, the heater will automatically turn off if it falls over.

Convectional heaters

These are usually recommended for use in RVs because they work similarly to the furnaces found in most homes. They have a fan that blows air over a heating element. The air will be heated, become lighter, and rise up to the ceiling while some of it falls back down again. This cycle repeats until all the air in the room has been circulated.

The Lasko 754200 ceramic Heater

This is the most affordable yet effective RV heater. If you are interested in an RV heater that won’t cost you much, this is the right choice. The Lasko 754200 ceramic Heater produces enough heating of around 120 volts. It has a 900-1500 watt setting. One of the best characteristics of heaters is that it is built to last. It is also very portable due to its lightweight make and small size. This ceramic heater is equipped with protective features to increase safety. You can also enjoy the luxury of regulating the heat simply by choosing either of the manual controls; high heat, low heat, or fan only. Maintenance is something you do not have to worry about; it requires little of that. This is what I used to have. I run this all evening and even during the night sometimes when I had electric hook-ups.

What I like about it:

  • Affordable: It is the most affordable heater on the market.
  • Portable: This unit has a small size and weight , making it easy to transport from one place to another.
  • Security: It is equipped with overheat protection for the safety of users.
  • Lightweight: The Lasko 754200 Ceramic Heater does not require heavy lifting.
  • Long warranty: The Lasko 754200 Ceramic Heater comes with a 5-year limited warranty. This shows how confident the manufacturer is about its quality and durability.
  • Manual Mode: Can be operated in manual mode with the option of high heat, low heat, and fan only.
  • Protective Features: It comes with protective features such as a tip-over switch and overheat protection for enhanced safety.
  • Easy Maintenance: This doesn’t require much effort or expense for upkeep.
  • Not suitable for large RVs
  • Not good for more than one person

The Pelonis Tower Ceramic heater

  • Reliability: The heater is very reliable and lasts long.
  • Heating power: The heating levels are much greater than most modern RV heaters. It heats up in 3 seconds.
  • Portability: It is lightweight and compact, making it very portable.
  • Remote Control: I love that this has a remote. When I get up in the morning I can just turn it on from the bed.
  • A bit pricey compared to other small electric heaters.

Camco Olympian RV Wave-3 LP Gas Catalytic Safety Heater

With this Wave RV heater , you get to enjoy comfortable radiant heat. It is pricey but wastes less propane than your regular furnace. There is no flame, just radiant heat. The size is also perfect since it can be easily placed in almost any place; you just have to find a way to get propane to it. I’ve been using this heater since last winter, and I love it. I have a small propane bottle that I keep outside and an extension to have that coming in through the window. It’s not the best solution, but at this time, I haven’t set up a connection from my propane tank yet. I just need it for during the evenings, and I turn it off for the night.

  • Perfect size: Not too big or too small to fit in any place.
  • Perfect fuel type: Perfect for small RVs since most RV’s come with a propane tank.
  • Effective: Heats up very well and quickly.
  • No fumes: Engineered to prevent the emission of combustion gases into your RV when in use.
  • Safe: There is no flame, just radiant heat. It also has a self-regulating radiant heat system to prevent overheating.
  • Efficient: This heater wastes very little propane when in use, considering the fact that it’s an infrared heater.
  • Durability: It also has a stainless steel exterior for protection and longevity.
  • Other features:  Has a digital remote control for ease of operation and convenience. It has a built-in automatic low oxygen shut-off system for your safety.
  • This heater doesn’t come with all the necessary accessories, you will have to buy them separately.
  • It is scary to light it up. Sometimes flames coming out of it. When it is already on, it’s fine.

Mr. Heater Buddy Indoor-Safe Portable Propane Radiant Heater

  • Affordable: Cheaper than the Wave Heater, but it has some safety features.
  • Safety: Offers flame-less heat, a tip-over safety shut-off, and an oxygen depletion sensor.
  • Versatility: It’s great for your RV and works well in enclosed spaces like large tents or garages.
  • Flames can be a little scary.
  • The 1 lb tanks are too small, you will need to think of connecting it to larger propane sources.

Caframo Limited True North Space Heater

The Caframo Limited True North Space Heater is the perfect heater for small RV spaces. It features five heat settings, dual overheat protection, and an anti-freeze setting that kicks in at 38°F / 3°C. This electric heater is rugged and built to last, with a five-year warranty.

  • Good Price-to-Performance Ratio: You get a lot of heater for the money.
  • Versatile: The Caframo Limited Space Heater can be used both in and outdoors, making it perfect for small RVs.
  • Good Build Quality: This heater is durable and made to last. It comes with a five-year warranty.
  • 5 Heat Settings: The five heat settings give you plenty of control over how warm your space feels.
  • Dual Overheat Protection: The Caframo Limited Space Heater will automatically shut off if it senses an overheat condition. This gives me peace of mind knowing that the heater will automatically shut down if it gets too hot.
  • A little bit noisy.

RV Heater Safety Tips

No matter what type of heater you’re bringing into your RV, it’s important to keep safety in mind. Make sure that your electrical system can handle a load of your new heater or furnaces before plugging them in. If you’re not sure, it’s a good idea to call your electrical system manufacturer and ask.

If you will be using either of these heaters in enclosed spaces such as garages or tents, make sure there is proper ventilation; this prevents carbon monoxide build-up inside those spaces.

Be mindful of any pets or children that may go into these spaces. Both propane and kerosene heaters can put out quite a bit of carbon monoxide.

If your heater is not working properly, unplug it, let it cool down, and fill up the tank with fresh fuel. If that does not work, you should stop using it immediately.

Which is the Best Space Heater for your RV?

This post may contain affiliate links.

If you camp or live in an RV in extreme cold weather, you’ll probably want to purchase some kind of heater to supplement your propane furnace. In this guide, I’ll go over several different types of electric heaters as well as a few other styles of portable heaters ideal for RVs.  I’ll also recommend a few models of heaters most popular with RVers to help you decide which one would be the best space heater for your RV.

Table of Contents

Space Heater Safety

Before choosing and buying a heater to use in your RV, I strongly recommend reading my article titled “Is It Safe to Use a Space Heater in an RV?” .

Using a space heater in an RV, or anywhere for that matter, is a safety risk. It’s important to understand the risk involved before buying a space heater.

travel size heater

We do use an electric heater in our fifth wheel to supplement our propane furnace. We have a Dr. Infrared heater (which I’ll talk about later) as well as a cheap ceramic heater as a backup.  Since we are full-time RVers in a climate with winter temperatures that often go below freezing, it’s important to use to have a backup heating source.

See also: How We Prepare Our RV for Winter Living

A few times we’ve run out of propane in the middle of the night. When we woke up, it was in the 40s inside the RV, even with our space heater running. (Yes, we do leave it on, but with the thermostat turned down to where it will only run if the furnace shuts off).

Electricity is cheaper than propane where we live. So when we’re in our RV and the temperatures outside are above freezing, we prefer to run our space heater. However, when it’s below freezing, we always run our furnace because it heats the areas where our water and sewer systems are located and keeps them from freezing. For extreme cold, the space heater and the furnace are both needed.

That said, please extensively research, compare, read reviews, etc. before buying any heater with the intent of using it an RV.

I’ve only listed heaters with plenty of positive reviews, but your situation may be different from that of the people who recommend these space heaters. If you have any doubts about your RV’s electrical capabilities, consult an electrician for a second opinion.

Best Space Heaters for RVs

Ceramic space heaters.

Ceramic heaters work by running an electric current through wires that pass through ceramic plates. These plates get warm and heat the air around them through convection. A built-in fan blows this warmed air into your room.

If you’re looking for a cheap space heater for occasional use (AKA mostly above freezing temps) a small, portable ceramic heater is probably all you need.  The one pictured below has a built-in thermostat and will automatically shut off it if overheats or tips over.

GiveBest Portable Electric Space Heater with Thermostat, 1500W/750W Safe and Quiet Ceramic Heater Fan, Heat Up 200 Square Feet for Office Room Desk Indoor Use, Silver

  • 2 in 1 heater fan: This ceramic heater provides two heat levels, 1500W or 750W and one cool air fan, you can use it both for winter and summer. Thermostat control of the heater will turn the heater off when it reaches a preset temperature and turn the heater back on when the temperature dips below the thermostat setting

Tower heaters

Most tower-style heaters are ceramic heaters.  Features like oscillation, remote control operation, and timers make them a step up from the basic ceramic heater. The Lasko model below has a safety feature that will automatically shut it off if it begins to overheat.

  • ✅【2 QUIET SETTINGS】This portable tower space heater offers a high heat setting and a low heat setting, plus and adjustable thermostat setting that will maintain the temperature in your room. This electric heater ideal for warming up a bedroom, home office, kitchen or any in your home.

Built-in faux fireplace insert heaters

A lot of RVs come with a pre-installed electric heater designed to look like a fireplace.  Most of these are ceramic heaters as well.

If your RV didn’t come with one, or if you need to replace your RV fireplace heater, you can find several models of fireplace style insert heaters online .

Portable fireplace-style heaters

Decorative space heaters that look like a small wood stove are popular with many of RV owners.  Some of these heaters are ceramic, but the one below is actually an infrared heater.

Infrared heaters

Infrared heaters use radiant heat to transfer warmth to objects in a room like how the sun warms objects it shines on. This can be more effective than simply blowing hot air into a space (though most infrared heaters also include a fan to help diffuse the heat).  The Dr. Infrared heater pictured below is the model we use in our RV.  We’ve used it for three years and we love it.

Dr Infrared Heater Portable Space Heater, 1500-Watt, Cherry

  • Can heat up a large room with Auto Energy Saving Model With High and Low Feature. Tip-over protection and Overheat protection.Heat Up for a large room - Dual Heating System: Infrared Quartz tube + PTC for 60% more heat than others. Rated around 5200 BTU.

I especially like that it has a built-in thermostat so it’s not running constantly. It only comes on once the room drops below a certain temperature. This is a great choice for people with kids because the whole thing stays cool to the touch. Even the spot where heat is emitted is not hot enough to burn you if you accidentally touch it.  This heater also has wheels and is very difficult to tip over, but would shut off instantly if it did.

Oil-filled Heaters

Oil-filled radiator-style heaters are tied with infrared as the most popular for RVers.

like the one shown below, which is one I purchased myself from Walmart.com .

Oil-filled heaters don’t burn oil. They circulate heated oil that diffuses steady, radiant heat that warms you gradually.  There’s no fan blowing, so the heat produced isn’t instant, but once it warms up, it does a good job of maintaining an even temperature.

PELONIS Champagne Oil Filled Radiator Heater with Remote and Thermostat, 5 Temperature Settings for indoor use Large Room, Energy Efficient Electric Space heater with Safety Features

  • 【Whole-Room Rapid Heating】 Relying on 1500W high power and special heating fins, it forms 360° hot air circulation to heat the whole room in seconds and last for long time without drying overly.

Micathermic Panel Heater

I don’t have personal experience with this type of heater. But when I asked full time RVers which types of heaters they liked, one type that came up was a micathermic panel heater.  Micathermic heaters use a combination of radiant and convective heat. Sheets of mica are warmed through convection, and these emit radiant heat, similar to an oil-filled heater.

The slim, flat design of the DeLonghi micathermic panel heater below would make it a good choice for someone looking for a heater that won’t take up much space.

DeLonghi Mica Panel Space Heater, 1500W quiet electric space heater for indoor use, adjustable thermostat, freestanding/ easy wall mount, full room heating with built-in safety features, HMP1500 Black

  • QUIET HEATER - Best for medium and large rooms, the 1500-watt Mica Panel Heater quickly delivers gentle heat that won’t stir up dust, pollen, or dander. Customize it to your needs with easy-to-use controls, an adjustable thermostat & two settings.

Running an Electric Heater Underneath an RV

RV owners who have skirted their camper for winter sometimes run a space heater under their RV to keep pipes from freezing.  Personally, I’d be wary of leaving an electric heater running under my RV unsupervised.

Additionally, I would assume doing so would require the use of an extension cord. The standard orange outdoor extension cord that many people might choose is cannot handle the 12.5 Amp draw of most space heaters. This adds additional risk.

But I do understand that on single-digit nights, this may be the only way to protect your rig.

Once, we did run a portable space heater under our RV for a few hours. Our black tank’s gate valve froze shut one day and needed to be thawed.

Normally our homemade vinyl skirting kept things plenty warm under our RV. But on this particular day, the highest temperature was in the single digits.  In order to thaw our gate valve as safely as possible, we purchased a 10-gauge 50-ft. extension cord and plugged it directly into the electric post. This bypassed our RV’s wiring circuit. We also used an infrared heater that would have shut off instantly if it had tipped over.

  • 10 Gauge SJTW 3 Conductor 50 Foot Extension Cord With Lighted Ends - green-extension wire outdoor extension wire 50 feet extension cord outdoor 10/3

If we lived in a colder climate where temperatures were often below zero in winter, I would set up my RV differently.

I would use reflective foam board instead of vinyl from my skirting. And I would consider placing a couple of work lights underneath the RV for particularly cold weather. Work lights like the ones below put off a fair amount of heat without drawing as much electricity as a space heater would, making these a safe way to heat your RV without posing an electrical risk. Just don’t accidentally buy an LED light, which won’t put off any heat!

Woods 500 Watt Portable Work Light; Yellow

  • BRIGHT PORTABLE WORK LIGHTS: powered by a 500 watts halogen bulb; bring this handheld work light wherever you like; the portable work light is designed to dissipate heat to reduce re-lamping frequency and protect you from being scalded while holding it

Fuel-burning Heaters

Most RVers will want to choose electric rather than fuel-burning heaters as a supplemental heating source.  However it’s a good idea to have a backup source of non-electric heat (and also a generator) in case a snowstorm causes a power outage.

Propane heaters

Not only is an indoor-use propane heater a good backup heating source for emergencies, it can also be used when boondocking.

The type of propane heater that seems to be the most popular with RV owners is the Mr. Heater “Buddy” propane heater .  It’s rated as “indoor safe” which makes it ideal for emergencies.

  • PORTABLE HEATER: Portable propane heater designed for emergency heat, tents, campers, job sites, porches, decks, garages, tailgates, barns, sheds, ice fishing, hunting blinds, and more

Still, make sure your RV is well-ventilated and your propane detector is in working order before use. It runs off 1 lb. cylinder propane tanks like those used for camp stoves, but in a pinch, you could connect it to standard RV propane tanks if you have an adapter hose .

Another propane heater popular with RVers is the Olympian Wave made by Camco . It can be mounted on a wall or stand on the floor, and is designed specifically with RVers in mind.

Many RVers say that the Olympian Wave is the best propane heater for RVs.

Wood Stoves in RVs

It sounds crazy, I know. But believe it or not, I have seen several RVs with wood burning stoves used for heat.  Many of these are in stationary RV’s, but some RVers and van lifers who travel use wood stoves as well.

You can see one example below from a Winter RV Enthusiast (who preferred to remain anonymous). This RV is stationary.

What Is an Electric Heater?

Electric RV heaters are designed to be used in travel trailers or campers. They are usually small and portable, making them easy to take with you on your trip. Electric heaters work by converting electrical energy into heat.

This type of heater for RV is typically more expensive than other RV heaters, but they are very efficient and can quickly heat a small space. If you are looking for an electric heater for your travel trailer, check out the options available on the market today.

You will be able to find a variety of sizes and styles to choose from, so you can find one that best suits your needs. Electric RV heaters are a great addition to any travel trailer or camper and can help you stay warm and comfortable on your next adventure.

Different Types Of Electric Heaters For RVs

rv electric heaters

Infrared Electric Heaters

Portable infrared heaters are a great addition to any RV, providing warmth and ambiance without taking up much space. An infrared heater works by emitting invisible waves of infrared radiation, which are absorbed by objects in the room.

This type of heater is very efficient, as it only heats the objects in the room, not the air itself. Because they don’t rely on convection to circulate warm air, infrared heaters are also very quiet. However, they can be more expensive than other heaters and may require special outlets or wiring. This is an efficient and unobtrusive way to heat your RV.

Fan-Forced Electric Heaters

Fan-forced electric heaters are a popular choice for RVs because they are relatively small and lightweight. They work by using a fan to circulate warm air around the RV, and they can be used to heat both the living space and the engine compartment. Some models also come with a thermostat, so you can set the desired temperature and let the heater do the rest.

Fan-forced electric heaters typically have two settings: low and high. The low setting is excellent for gentle background heat, while the high setting can be used for more rapid healing.

One downside of fan-forced electric heaters is that they can be noisy, so if you are looking for a quiet option, this may not be the best choice. Another thing to remember is that fan-forced heaters only work when plugged into an electrical outlet, so they are not ideal for use in remote locations.

Convection Electric Heaters

Convection electric heaters are a type of space heater that uses electricity to heat up a metal element, emitting heat into the surrounding area.

They are typically used in RV applications because they heat up small spaces efficiently. Convection electric heaters work by circulating the air around the room using a fan, which helps to distribute the heat evenly.

This type of heater is very quiet and does not produce any flames or sparks, making it a safe choice for use in an RV. Some convection electric heaters also come with a built-in thermostat, which allows you to set the desired temperature and then let the heater do its job.

Features That RV Electric Heater Should Have

Multiple Heat Control Settings

Most of the best electric heater for travel trailer comes with multiple heat control settings. This will allow you to adjust the temperature to suit your needs and external conditions. Some models even have a remote control so that you can adjust the temperature from anywhere in the room. Another feature to look for is a timer.

This will allow you to set the heater to turn off after a specific time, so you don’t have to worry about running all night. You should also ensure that the model you choose has overheat protection. This will shut off the heater if it gets too hot, preventing accidents.

Tip-Over Protection

One crucial feature is tip-over protection. This feature prevents the heater from turning on if it is knocked over. This is important because it can prevent fires if the heater falls over and lands on something flammable. Tip-over protection is especially important if you have pets or small children in your RV, as they can knock over the heater more quickly than adults.

Automatic Shutoff

This feature will ensure that the heater turns off automatically if it tips over or the room temperature exceeds a certain level. This can help to prevent fires and other accidents.

Is It Safe To Use RV Electric Heater?

Most RVs come with electric heaters, and many campers find them a convenient way to stay warm. However, there is some debate about whether or not these heaters are safe to use.

Some campers worry that the heaters will overload the RV’s electrical system, while others are concerned about the fire risk. However, electric heaters are generally considered safe if they are correctly used.

The key is to ensure that the heater is the correct size for the RV and that it is not left unattended. As long as these precautions are taken, an electric heater can provide a convenient and safe source of warmth.

The Cheapest Way To Heat An RV

One of the challenges of RV living is finding affordable ways to heat your vehicle. The propane heater is often the go-to option for many RVers, but it can be expensive to fill up a tank. Luckily, a few other options for heating your RV can help you save money.

  • One option is using electric space heaters. These can be plugged into a standard outlet, providing enough heat to warm a small space.
  • Use a wood-burning stove. This can be a more cost-effective option if you have access to firewood.
  • You can also invest in RV insulation to help keep heat in and lower overall heating costs.

You can find the cheapest way to heat your RV and enjoy a comfortable environment all winter long by exploring all of your options.

Can Generator Be Used To Power RV Electric Heater?

best electric heater for travel trailer

Electric RV heaters can be a great way to stay warm on chilly nights, but they also require a lot of power to run. This often leaves RVers wondering: can I use my generator to power my RV electric heater? The answer is yes, but there are a few things you need to keep in mind.

  • Your generator needs enough power to run the heater and any other appliances you might be using.
  • You’ll need to ensure that the generator is adequately ventilated, so it doesn’t overheat.
  • You’ll need to be mindful of noise levels, as some generators can be loud.

But as long as you keep these things in mind, powering your RV electric heater with a generator is possible.

Wrapping Up

Electric heaters are a great way to keep your travel trailer warm, but there are a few things you need to keep in mind when using them.

  • Ensure that the heater’s area is clear of flammable materials.
  • Never leave the heater unattended.
  • Always unplug the heater when you’re not using it.

By following these simple safety guidelines, you can enjoy the benefits of an electric heater without putting yourself at risk. Now that you know the best electric heater for travel trailer, you can stay warm and comfortable on your next camping trip.

Eberspacher Espar Airtronic S2 D2 L 12V 2.2kW 7500BTU with EasyStart PRO 7 Day Timer Fault...

This is a made in Germany diesel air heater with a heat output of 2.2 kW which is equivalent to 7500 BTU; this would be perfect for vans and small-sized RVs. If you’re camping up in the mountains, it comes with an altitude adjustment setting that allows it to operate up to 9,842 feet above sea level.

How much fuel does it consume? On average, it consumes about a single gallon in about 24 hours. If you want to save fuel, it’s designed with an internal temperature sensor that turns the central unit on and off based on your surroundings.

Even more impressive, it features an exhaust muffler to keep it quiet when running. Not to forget, it can self-diagnose and send you an error code in case of any performance issues so you can fix it.

Unfortunately, the heat output of this unit wouldn’t be ideal if you live in a big-sized RV.

  • Automatic attitude adjustment
  • It features a silencer
  • Full installation kit included
  • Up to 7500 BTU heating power
  • It can self-diagnose
  • Precise temperature monitoring
  • Not suitable for class A RVs

Fiberfly Diesel Heater 8KW, 15L Tank, Diesel Air Heater 12V,Muffler, Diesel Parking Heater with LCD...

How about a low-budget diesel air heater that can produce up to 8kW? To put it into perspective, the heat output of this unit is sufficient for most class A type of RVs that are about 26 to 45 feet long. Beyond that, this Fiberfly diesel air heater is convenient for both summer and winter with a working temperature range of between -40°F to 122°F.

Talking about fuel efficiency, it can consume about 0.2 to 0.5 liters of fuel per hour depending on the temperature settings. It’s also designed with automatic temperature control technology and if you want to control it manually, you can use the remote control up to 150 feet away.

Surprisingly, it doesn’t make a lot of noise at night despite its low-price tag. Not to mention, it comes with everything you need to install.

However, most Chinese diesel air heaters like this unit don’t come with a warranty. Then again, it shouldn’t be much of a concern considering it’s a low-budget diesel air heater.

  • Low budget air heater
  • Low fuel consumption
  • Ideal for big size RVs
  • Automatic control technology
  • It’s designed with overheating protection
  • No warranty

VEVOR Diesel Heater 12V, 10L Tank, 5KW Diesel Air Heater, Fast Heating, Diesel Heater with LCD...

For what it’s worth, this Vevor diesel is made out of an aluminum body. That means, not only is it corrosion and rust-resistant but it will transfer heat faster than most diesel heaters. In addition to that, it’s designed with an optimized ECU to control the oil pump injection frequency with accurate precision to increase its lifespan.

If that doesn’t convince you yet, it features an LCD screen that lets you monitor fuel efficiency, power consumption, and temperature. To top it off, you can pre-heat your RV and change the temperature, oil volume, and wind speed using a remote control.

There are 2 options available; a 5kW and 8kW diesel heater. Both units are suitable if you camp in a medium or big-sized RV.

Its biggest drawback is that it will be overwhelmed at high altitudes. Also, it comes with a 10-liter tank and not a 15-liter tank as advertised.

  • asy to operate
  • Low budget option
  • Features LDC screen with remote control
  • Overheating protection
  • Not designed for high altitudes

Planar 2D-12-TM 2KW Diesel Air Heater 12V with PU-5 controller Similar to Webasto, Airtronic,...

The Planar 2D-12 is a made in Russia diesel air heater with a heat output of 2 kW. It features the same control panel that you would find in most high-end units. That means you can adjust the temperature mode if you want it to turn on and off based on the climate, but if you want it to run continuously, you can switch to power mode.

Another cool thing about this air heater is that it comes with a self-diagnostic system and a code table to help you identify the problem. It’s also fitted with a silencer to reduce the noise while it’s running.

On the downside, this diesel air heater doesn’t feature an automatic altitude adjustment setting.

  • Self-diagnostic system
  • User-friendly operation control
  • It’s quiet during operation
  • 2 kW heat output
  • Not ideal for high altitude

maXpeedingrods 12V 5KW Air Diesel Heater LCD Switch & Remote Control 4 Holes for Caravan Trucks...

This is an all in one diesel heater for your RV; this means everything from the fuel tank, control panel, fuel pump, and diesel heater are combined in a single unit. Of course, it’s compact and easier to move than most diesel air heaters.

The heat output is 5 kW with fuel consumption of 0.14 to 0.64 liters per hour. Similarly, it will draw about 15 amps during startup but it should reduce to about 3 amps during normal operation. Did we mention that you can adjust the temperature using remote control while you’re standing 98 feet away from your RV?

Our biggest concern is that the manual is poorly translated with no clear instructions. However, you can still find helpful instructions on how to install it online.

  • Easy to install
  • Constant temperature control
  • It includes overheating protection
  • Small and compact
  • Low maintenance cost
  • No clear installation instructions

Wayska Diesel Air Heater 12V, 15L Tank, Diesel Heater 8KW, Muffler, Diesel Parking Heater with LCD...

This diesel air heat uses volatile technology to quickly ignite and fully burn the fuel to reduce emissions when producing heat for your RV. If its fuel tank is full, you can run it continuously for up to 30 hours with an average consumption of 0.2 to 0.5 liters per hour. Alternatively, you can connect the oil extractor to your RV’s fuel tank if you want it to run longer.

What’s more, the thermostat automatically adjusts to keep you going up to an altitude of 5,500 feet above sea level. Besides that, it should disperse heat when the engine is off as long as you connect it to a 12V battery; the working temperature range is between -40°F to 122°F.

Even though it comes with all the accessories you need to install from the oil pump, silencer to the air filter, the instructions on the manual are vague. It also doesn’t have a warranty but that’s not surprising considering its lower price tag compared to the competition.

  • High altitude settings
  • Low emission heater
  • Includes LCD monitor with remote control
  • Ideal for large RVs

Types of Diesel Heaters

The 7 Best Diesel Heater for Vans, Campers, and RVs 1

These are the most common type of diesel heaters on the market. As the name suggests, they work by pulling in air from your RV or camper van which is then mixed with diesel and ignited to generate heat.

In contrast with diesel water heaters, diesel air heaters are more efficient and easier to use especially during winter. They’re also installed in the chassis or cabin of your vehicle.

The 7 Best Diesel Heater for Vans, Campers, and RVs 2

A diesel water heater isn’t so different from a diesel air heater except that it draws in water instead of air. Once the water flows into the diesel water heater , it’s heated and converted into steam. Next, the steam is passed through a heat exchanger to generate heat for the outside environment.

Unlike a diesel air heater, a diesel water heater is installed in the engine compartment. That means can also use your diesel water heater to warm up your engine during winter and prevent cold starting issues.

How To Choose the Best Diesel Heater for Vans, Campers, and RVs

The heat output of a diesel heat is rated in kilowatts (kW) or British thermal units (BTU). The higher the kilowatt or BTU, the higher the heat output. Also, the bigger the diesel heater, the higher the heat output.

Of course, you should consider the heat output ratings based on the size of your RV, camper, or van. For instance, if you have a small van, a 2Kw diesel heater would be sufficient. However, if you have one of those class A types of RVs that are about 26 to 45 feet long, you should consider 5 kW diesel heaters.

When most diesel heaters are exposed to high altitudes where the air is thinner, it becomes difficult to burn the fuel. For that reason, if you love to camp high in the mountains, you should consider premium diesel heaters that are designed to change the ratio of fuel and air at high altitudes. That means it’s possible for those diesel heaters to operate 10,000 feet above sea level.

However, it’s not a must you purchase a diesel heater with an automatic altitude adjustment setting if you don’t camp up in the mountains.

The best diesel heaters are designed to be fully functional during the coldest winter and hottest summer season. More succinctly, you should choose a diesel heater that has an operating temperature range of between -40°C to 50°C (-40°F to 122°F).

Most diesel heaters for RVs are designed to draw up to 15 amps of power from your 12V battery during start-up. Because of that, you should consider the power consumption of a diesel heater to avoid draining your battery. Of course, the bigger the diesel heater, the higher the power consumption.

However, diesel heaters reduce the power consumption after start-up to about 3 or 4 amps. Once most diesel heaters become warm, they consume about 1 amp per hour.

Fuel efficiency shouldn’t be a problem if you choose the ideal heater size for your RV, camper, or van. Most diesel heaters are fuel-efficient with a consumption of about 0.1 to 0.6 liter per hour. Nevertheless, you should consider diesel heaters that will automatically shut off if your fuel tank is almost empty.

Most diesel heaters require plumbing during installation. Because of that, you should consider a diesel heater that comes with a full installation kit and an instruction manual.

Besides that, you could choose a portable all in one diesel heater that doesn’t require plumbing; this means you could use it somewhere else apart from your van or RV.

Here is a video explaining how you can install a diesel heater in your motorhome:

Nobody wants a diesel heater that is too noisy, right? The best diesel heaters are equipped with silencers to reduce the noise even at the highest setting.

However, most low-budget diesel heaters tend to be noisy at the highest settings. If that happens, you can cover the diesel heater with noise-dampening insulation and regulate the thermostat at an ideal temperature to keep it quiet.

Most diesel heaters on the market are manufactured by Chinese and German brands. If you want low-budget options, you can choose heaters made in China. Even so, most Chinese diesel heaters don’t have a warranty; and if they do, the warranty is short-lived.

On the other hand, diesel heaters made in Germany are sold at a premium price. They’re also more durable with a longer warranty period. Better yet, they have servicing centers across North America and Europe in case your diesel heater develops performance issues.

FAQs for Best Diesel Heaters for Vans, Camper, and RVs

A. It depends on the type of diesel heater. If you have a diesel water heater, it should be installed in the engine compartment. However, if you’re using a diesel air heater, it can be installed in the chassis or cabin of your vehicle.

Yes. Diesel heaters are safe to use as long as you install them correctly. Most importantly, make sure your diesel heater is vented so you don’t have exhaust gases accumulating inside your RV or camper van.

Beyond that, some of the best diesel heaters will shut off automatically if they detect any problem. Nevertheless, it would be a good idea to put a carbon monoxide detector in your RV just in case there is a malfunction.

Some of the most durable diesel heaters for vans, campers, and RVs are made in Germany. Based on our reviews, the most durable diesel heater is the Eberspacher Espar Airtronic S2 D2 .

It depends on the brand. Low-budget diesel heaters made in China can cost as low as $150 while premium models made in Germany can cost as much as $2000.

After reading our guide, we hope you can choose the best diesel heater based on the size of your van or RV.

Our top choice is Eberspacher Espar Airtronic S2 D2 because it’s quiet and fuel-efficient. It’s also made by a reputable brand and it can cope at high altitudes.

They often come with adjustable temperature settings, a visible water level indicator, and additional safety features. Ideal for travelers who want a larger volume of hot water.

  • Power Source : Determine whether you prefer a travel water heater that operates on electricity, batteries, or gas. Each power source has its pros and cons, so choose the one that suits your needs and accessibility during your travels.
  • Capacity : Consider the amount of water you will need to heat at one time. If it's just for personal use, a smaller capacity will suffice. However, if you are traveling with a group or need more hot water for various purposes, opt for a higher capacity device.
  • Heating Speed : Check the heating speed of the travel water heater to ensure it can quickly deliver hot water on demand. Efficient devices can heat water in just a few minutes, saving you valuable time during your travels.
  • Safety Features : Prioritize safety when choosing a travel water heater. Look for features such as automatic shut-off, boil-dry protection, and heat-resistant handles to avoid accidents and ensure peace of mind during your adventures.

Table of Contents

Can you drink tap water in moscow.

Yes, tap water is drinkable.

Tap Safe includes data from many publicly available sources, including the WHO (World Health Organization), CDC (Center for Disease Control), and user submitted databases, but unfortunately there's not enough data about Moscow.

To see user submitted ratings of the water quality for Russia, see the "User Submitted Ratings" box on this page.

Moscow Russia, tap water is safe for drinking . Treatment plants use sodium hypochlorite , which is more reliable than chlorine. A regular inspection ensures people who drink it won’t be ill. The water leaves the treatment plant is safe to drink . However, locals tend to boil water before drinking. Nowadays, many Russian drinks filtered water . Their concerns will be the residential pipeline in the place they live or stay.

Moscow Tap Water

The Mosvodokanal (Water services company), the state group that monitors the drinking water in Moscow, confirms that water is clean . The company produces high-quality drinking water and a safe sewage system to 14.2 million inhabitants of the Moscow capital. Also, according to specialists, tap water in Moscow meets all the requirements that have been recommended by Russia’s chief state sanitary inspector. They deny many stories created by the various aqua filters. But if you have a sensitive stomach as tourists, we advise that you only consume bottled water.

Source of Water in Moscow, Russia

Tap water from Moscow, Russia , comes from surface water and groundwater. The three primary sources originate from the Moskva river , Volga river , and Vazuzskoye Hydrotechnical System.

The Moskva river supplies up to 60% of the capital needs of water. While the Volga river provides 40% of the water supply in Moscow, the Vazuzskoye serve as a reserve source incase of water crisis or contamination on the two prime surface water source.

Treatment and sanitation start with coagulation . This method includes the addition of compounds that improve the clumping of fines into larger floc so that they can easily separate from the water. Then they exposed water to UV light that known to kill bacteria and now will pass through water filtration of sand a natural way to filter water without chemical compounds.

Moscow Tap Water

The famous Moscow tap water supplied by the authorities contained high levels of pesticides, etc. These levels have been regularly overcharged and sometimes unknowingly overcharged in some areas. You can imagine that when this happens, you could be suffering from long-term health problems. The average life expectancy in Moscow is around eighty or ninety years. These figures do not include the death rate from illnesses, which, unfortunately, almost one-third of the population suffers from Moscow.

Recently some companies have started selling packaged Moscow tap water at various price ranges so that people can easily buy a bottle and take it with them to their home. It seems that the people of Moscow have become much more interested in these bottles, and many believe they are safer than the local bottled water from the supermarket or the vast range of similar brands sold in stores across the globe. Yet they are pretty useless and even more expensive than the ordinary local supermarket brands. Many believe that these brand-name companies are only making money from their consumers by deceiving them. However, it is also worth remembering that the destination Moscow tap water does not come from any such reliable suppliers and is certainly not free of harmful chemicals.

It is essential to realize that not all bottled water from Europe or anywhere else in the world is safe to drink. If you are traveling to Moscow, you should ensure that you have a fully qualified professional inspect the water before you drink. The same applies if you stay at a hotel in the city, as many hotels often have a plumbing problem. If your drinking water is contaminated, you may have absolutely no choice but to leave the hotel and find somewhere else to stay. In the past, I have personally seen people who have lived for months in a small town without any water supply and were forced to use a simple tap water filter to bring some life back into their lives. Moscow’s people indeed face difficult times, but the fact remains that they need our help more than ever to keep their city clean and healthy.

Water in Moscow

Water in Moscow is something that people take for granted, but the fact is that there are no hotel amenities in the city that can be called genuinely luxurious. While there are plenty of posh cafes scattered throughout the city and a plethora of excellent eating and drinking options, you will have to get your drinking water from a faucet at the end of the day, a tap or bottled one. This can be a pain because even if you go on a perfect vacation, you might still not be able to take along your water bottle, so here are some other things that you should make sure to pack before you travel to Russia. Your water supply!

Water is essential when you are visiting any country, let alone one as unique as Russia. As such, you will want to get a hold of bottled water while you are there, and at many of the hotels, you will also find a water filter attached to the tap. This way, you can have clean and safe water without having to worry about getting sick from water that may not necessarily be from a tap that you drink. It is also an excellent idea to have an ice cooler with you, to keep refreshments for yourself and any friends or family you may meet. If you stay in a guest house, try to get a refrigerator, too – cold drinks are a must!

There are also plenty of hotels in Moscow that offer Wi-Fi internet access, so make sure to bring this along with you, too. A hotel water purifier may seem like a small thing to have on hand, but you never know when you might need it, especially in the heat and humidity that the region has to deal with. In addition to taking these precautions, there are other hotel amenities that you can find in many of the more excellent hotels in Moscow and more budget hotels. For example, many cheaper hotels will offer you hot tubs, which are incredibly relaxing and enjoyable after a hard day at work. You can even get a “couple” package so that you can enjoy a romantic evening together after returning home from a long day of work.

Moscow Bottled Water

The Moscow Bottled Water is now one of the leading brands of Russian bottled water. It has its unique name and brand identity due to the strict control of production. Only the best quality minerals, herbs, and plants are used to produce every bottle of this Moscow bottled water. This brand is known all over the world for its quality of water.

The Moscow Italian Wine has also become a famous brand among people across the world. Its unique name was based on two words -” Moscow” and “Italian wine.” It was created by the legendary Russian writer Alexey Pshchinin. Since one day, he put the words “Moscow Italian Wine” in the bottle of his famous Russian brand and started selling it to customers across the world. It is considered one of the finest Russian wines that are available.

Murano Italian Wine is one of the top-selling brands that has a vast number of fans. It has been a part of the Russian retail market since 1960 when it began as a small business. It has expanded its brand name to sell various products such as wine, mineral water, fruits, and confectionery. Due to its huge success, the company now produces different types of Russian wines, chocolates, juices, and Cologne from its vast inventories. Now it is available in almost all parts of the world, even in some parts of the United States.

Moscow Drinking Water

Do you want to know about the quality of Moscow drinking water? Are you worried that you are not getting enough of it? Then you need to know what the quality of Moscow’s drinking water is. It would be best if you also found out what you can do to stop it from happening to you and ensure that your family’s health is not in danger. Here are some tips to help you with this:

The first thing that you should know is that there are different kinds of purification methods used for the purest drinking water. There are many different ones. Even if you live in one of the most developed cities globally, you still have to be aware that you have to deal with the pollution in your city. The water that comes from the tap may be clean, but you have to contend with many impurities when you mix it with municipal water. Therefore, you need to make sure that you purchase a good filtration system that will allow you to drink safe water without worrying about the quality.

Moreover, you need to know that some water purification plants have been known to produce horrible drinking water. There have even been cases when people end up getting ill because they drink contaminated water. In addition to this, you also need to make sure that the government has approved the water filter you buy. Without this, you might end up with a machine that will give you nothing but a few contaminants.

Moscow Water Supply

Moscow is one of the largest cities in Russia and the capital of the Russian Federation. The city was developed as a steam mining center during the Golden Ages of the 17th century. Today, the city is one of the fastest-growing cities in Russia, with over 6 million. The Moscow water supply has long been a problem because of water pipes’ issues in the city. However, it has become much better today as a result of technological advances.

Water is essential to life in the city, and it is also crucial for the health of its inhabitants. Moscow has always had an inadequate water supply record, which has been the case since the Revolution. However, the situation has changed today, and Moscow has one of the world’s best water supply systems. Water is also distributed to all of the apartment complexes and townhouses before being distributed to individual homes. It is also brought in on trucks and trains from the city’s main water supplies.

Water is a valuable commodity, and the city does not want to see any cut in its water supply. Therefore, when a new water line is installed, it is done with great care and attention. When the water supply is affected due to natural calamities like floods and earthquakes, Moscow gets involved more than other cities. However, it does not affect the city’s general population, as the people of Moscow can drink from any tap no matter where they are located. Also, as long as there is sunlight in the city, water in bottles will be available for the general public.

Moscow Water Quality

Moscow has a lot of industrial, commercial, and residential growth going on. Since these areas are populated with people, a lot of waste is being created that needs to be handled. Moscow water quality is improving slowly but surely, and it is expected that it will be better in the future. Water is an essential commodity, and everyone needs it to survive. Moscow is just a small city. The population is still growing, so the need for good water quality will not be quickly replaced as it did in the past. Nevertheless, there are some methods you can use to ensure that you are drinking at least what is considered to be good quality water.

If you have friends or relatives living in a city known for poor water quality, you may want to think about helping them out by donating your share to a charity that gives clean water to residents. Many charities give away free water to people who cannot afford to buy bottled water, although this does little good if the water source is unreliable. You could also try contacting your city to see if they have any programs that allow you to help out. They often need people to run surveys and provide information about their water supply quality, although the government does not usually support these kinds of programs.

You can help improve the quality of the water in your home by installing a kitchen countertop filter that takes out the contaminants. There are many types of filters available, and you may find that the simplest ones will work best in your house. Some of these filters remove just a few particles, leaving the tap water’s essential minerals and vitamins. This may help overcome the mineral deficiencies.

Moscow Water Treatment

Moscow water treatment equipment has become a prevalent method of filtration and purification among the Moscow residents. Many people are starting to use these systems to filter their water and be confident that their water is clean enough for consumption by their families. The systems are becoming more popular as more people realize what they have been doing by allowing city water to pollute their drinking water. This has caused many health problems for many Russian citizens. City water cannot be deemed healthy when it contains such contaminants as pesticides, lead, benzene, bacteria, radioactive isotopes, synthetic drugs, and other harmful chemicals. Even the water from wells used for personal consumption must be filtered or cleaned at the source to be deemed safe for drinking.

The main reason these systems are getting more popular is that they are cost-effective and produce far healthier water than what you can get from your tap. There is a wide range of water treatment equipment available on the market today, ranging from portable units that can be kept in apartments and houses and huge water softening machines that can be installed in water pipes throughout a city. These systems’ prices depend on many factors, such as the size of the system, the kind of filter used, and the number of filter stages that need to be installed in the water purification equipment.

The water quality that comes out of your tap can sometimes depend on whether you have installed the correct type of water treatment equipment. If you suspect that your water supply contains any impurities such as lead, it would be wise to contact a water purifier that can help to remove the traces of this toxic metal. Once you have made your purchase, it would be a good idea to read about the brand and model you are using to make the most of your investment. Water purifiers have become an essential part of our lives, and it is crucial to know precisely what you are purchasing to make sure that you are getting a quality product.
