Warner Bros.’ “Holidays Made Here” returns for the 2022 holiday season, bringing the world of “Gilmore Girls” to life in Burbank, California. After the event was canceled for two years for COVID-19 safety, fans of the show will be able to participate in the guided tour around Warner Bros. studio from Dec. 22 to Jan. 1.

According to an official release from Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood, the Christmastime tour will whisk guests to the Midwest Street Backlot, where “Gilmore Girls” was filmed for seven seasons. Featuring a fully-decorated set, costumes and props, guests can ring in the holidays while exploring Stars Hollow, the fictional town where “Gilmore Girls” takes place.

Visitors will be able to visit major locations from the show, including Luke’s Diner, Lorelai’s house, the Stars Hollow town sign and much more. Guests may also find pop-up shops in the town, with festive “Gilmore Girls” merchandise exclusive to the “Holidays Made Here” event. Hot coffee and Poptarts will be available for Stars Hollow visitors, as well as photo opportunities around the town.

Stars Hollow, Connecticut, isn’t the only place guests will visit, Warner Bros. wrote. Fans of the hit TV sitcom “Friends” can travel to Stage 48, where the Friends Boutique and Central Perk Café will be decked out for the holiday season. The Holiday Armadillo costume — a gag from the show — will be on display for Central Perk patrons, the area features authentic costumes and props from the series.

“Holidays Made Here” will guide guests through the sets of other favorite Christmas films, such as “Elf” and “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.” KTLA reported that the Warner Bros. crew is excited to have guests back at the studio this holiday season.

“After two years of missing out on celebrating the holidays with our Warner Bros. fans, we are thrilled to have guests back on the lot for “Holidays Made Here,” said Danny Kahn, vice president and general manager of Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood. “This event will be a must-see for fans, and we can’t wait to share the magic of exploring Stars Hollow with everyone during the holiday season.”

Tours will run from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Dec. 22 to Jan. 1., with the exception of Christmas Day. Tickets are available on the Warner Bros. website , with access to the “Holidays Made Here” event included in every ticket package.

Sun, cinema, and ‘snow': Find the holiday spirit on the Warner Bros. Studio Tour

Saunter by sets from "the gilmore girls" and admire costumes from famous flicks like "elf" over a few merry weeks., by alysia gray painter • published november 30, 2023 • updated on november 30, 2023 at 4:46 pm, what to know.

  • A limited-time tour festooned with holiday sights sparkles from Dec. 22, 2023 through Jan. 1, 2024
  • $70 and up; reservations strongly recommended

It's always Christmas on the silver screen, or at least within those cinematic stories that are synonymous with Santa Claus, snowfall, and silent nights.

We can return to our favorite wintry television shows and movies, again and again, even as we make the quirky connection that we're looking at a Burbank backlot filled with snow, er, "snow," and not some icicle-strewn New England township.

Warner Bros. Studio is home to the brrr -filled backlot we're winking at, of course, and of course cinephiles know that the oft-balmy Burbank has stood in for plenty of parka-packed places.

Get Southern California news, weather forecasts and entertainment stories to your inbox. Sign up for NBC LA newsletters.

To honor that legacy, and to give film fans a chance to connect with some seasonal cinema and small-screen fun, the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood will whisk winter-seeking guests off to an adventure inspired by the holidays, starting on Dec. 22 and wrapping on Jan. 1.

It's a limited-time happening, so reserve your tour ticket soon if you'd like to join the holly-jolly Hollywood-themed jaunt.

Stops include Stars Hollow from "The Gilmore Girls," where a wholesome snowmen contest will be on never-melting view, and Stage 48, the tour-concluding spot that features famous costumes, including Papa Elf from "Elf" and the Jack Frost snowman from the film of the same name.

The tour will offer several "holiday photo opportunities," promises the tour department, so feel free to wear that tinselly top or colorful gnome sweater, if you're looking to get into the snapshot-appropriate spirit.

Along the way, you'll learn about the venerable studio's history, some of its best-known shows and movies, and where the stories we adore took place.

Including those tales we were sure, upon first viewing, were filmed in a destination that really does experience intense winter weather and not the soft, light-sweatered sunshine of Burbank.

As guests step inside the house, original costumes worn by Lorelai, Rory and Luke will be exhibited with an accompanying montage of behind-the-scenes imagery for guests to relive their favorite scenes.

“‘Gilmore Girls’ touched the hearts of so many fans and spans generations,” said Gary Soloff, Director, Marketing, WBSTH. “This holiday season, our guests will enjoy a one-of-a-kind fan experience as they tour the iconic Warner Bros. backlot that will be transformed into the majestic town of Stars Hallow.”

Following the success of last year’s “Holiday Lunch at Lorelai’s,” the Studio Tour is bringing back a holiday spread, with vegetarian and gluten-free options available for purchase. Even though Sookie won’t be preparing them herself, Emily Gilmore surely would approve of these culinary treats! Exclusive “Gilmore Girls” merchandise, such as spirit jerseys, mugs, keychains, notepads, hats and more, will also be available for purchase from the “Gilmore Girls” pop-up shop located in Lorelai’s house.

With the always-evolving exhibits and experiences, WBSTH continues to offer their guests from around the world an intimate look at how Hollywood magic is made. The Warner Bros. Studio in Hollywood is transforming into Stars Hollow from 'Gilmore Girls' for thei...

The Gilmore Girls Holiday Pop-Up Features Real Stars Hollow Sets

Oy with the poodles already — this experience begins Dec. 22.

There’s no better place to spend the holidays than Stars Hollow. Just like Lorelai Gilmore, you may love the wintertime and can “smell snow” before the first flake even falls. To get you into the Gilmore Girls spirit, celebrate the holidays in Stars Hollow at the Gilmore Girls holiday pop-up from Warner Bros. Studio, which features real sets, costumes, and props from the series.

While the fictional Stars Hollow may be located in Connecticut, the Warner Bros. Studio in Hollywood is home to the actual set where Lorelai, Rory, Sookie, and Luke lived. On a typical Warner Bros. Studio Tour, you get to travel through the backlot and see where they filmed Gilmore Girls and even Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. Hardcore fans could recognize the gazebo and even an empty Luke’s Diner anywhere, but for the holidays, Warner Bros. Studio is transforming the set to look like Stars Hollow once again. Not only can you snap some pictures in front of the Stars Hollow and Luke’s Diner signs, but you can also grab a cup of coffee or Lorelai’s favorite Pop-Tarts as you stroll around.

If this sounds about as dreamy as Rory’s dreams of getting into college, you may just want to round up all your Gilmore Girls fans to visit the Warner Bros. Studio this December.

When Is The Holidays Made Here Gilmore Girls Pop-Up?

Celebrate the holidays in Stars Hollow at the Warner Bros. Studio's Holidays Made Here 'Gilmore Girl...

The Holidays Made Here event is being added to all Warner Bros. Studio tours happening Dec. 22 to Jan. 1, 2023. While the studio will be closed on Dec. 25, you and your fam or besties can enjoy this limited time Gilmore Girls experience leading up to Christmas and the new year. Since this is included in all tours, you also don’t have to buy an extra ticket to immerse yourself in Stars Hollow.

What’s Happening In Stars Hollow During Holidays Made Here?

As part of your tour, you’ll get to walk around the Midwest Street Backlot — aka Stars Hollow — at the Warner Bros. Studio. For this event, the fictional town will be decorated for the season and OG Gilmore Girls sets will be available for you to see with some of the actual props and costumes from the show on display. This is truly an Insta-worthy experience and you’ll want to snap a pic on the iconic gazebo where Luke and Lorelai finally said “I do.” You can also take a selfie in front of the Stars Hollow town sign and with Lorelai and Rory’s Bjork Snowman.

As you take a walk around town, you’ll be able to see Luke’s Diner, Lorelai’s house, Mrs. Kim’s Antiques, and even Doose’s Market where Dean kissed Rory in aisle three — a “good aisle,” according to Lane.

Celebrate the holidays in Stars Hollow at Warner Bros. Studio's Holidays Made Here 'Gilmore Girls' p...

Along with an Instagram photo sesh, you can also grab food from the Gilmore Girls pop-up. There will be tasty treats like Pop-Tarts, and of course, coffee. It wouldn’t be a proper Gilmore Girls day without coffee! And it wouldn’t be a proper Warner Bros. Studio Tour visit without some shopping as well. The Holidays Made Here experience will also have exclusive and festive Gilmore Girls merch for purchase in Stars Hollow that has been created just for this event. You can also shop around in the Friends Boutique and Central Perk Café near to Stars Hollow. Friends fans will appreciate the holiday decor and props that will be on display there, including the infamous Holiday Armadillo costume.

Lorelai was right when she said, “Everything is magical when it snows.” Even though Southern California may not get a lot of snowfall in the winter, you can have the most magical time in Stars Hollow this year.

Christmas Dinner in The Great Hall!

My first time visiting this with my daughter, Son-in -Law and ex hubby (he was dressed as Hagrid!) We paid a high price for Christmas dinner in The Great Hall and overall we loved the whole experience, especially as we were visited by some Death Eaters halfway through our meal! Scary! Lol. We thought the whole tour was absolutely stunning with lots of interactive things going on. I enjoyed my green screen broom ride and resultant picture and choosing a wand to take home also. We were given in with the price these things free of charge along with a voucher for a free driank after the lovely Prosecco and Canapes we had before the meal, plus another voucher for a butterbeer. Beautifully laid tables in the Great Hall and a party atmosphere! The desserts on the backlot by The Hogwarts Express were also lovely too. Staff right from the get go were frindly and knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. The ONLY thing I have a slight gripe about was the meal itself. The menu we were sent prior seemed to have a meat or vegetarian terrine as a starter but we were all just given the meat one. We were asked on booing in if we had any dietary requirements but we didnt, but we would have liked the choice between the two. The main Christmas dinner was also a bit lacking with ahuge plate, with 2 very small pigs in balnkets, some turkey, a very small bit of fondant potato, baby beet and one small parsnip along with a couple of brussel sprouts. It dint anywhere near satisfy me and beleive me I'm not fussy! Had I been on my own I think I may have stopped at the services on the way home to get a burger or something! Shame, as the rest of the experience was absolutely AMAZING!!!

Very bad service to contact. I ordered gift tickets over a month ago and I have not received them. This is unexeptable as they are GIFT TICKETS which mean they are given as a gift therefore should not take over a month to be delivered. I have tried calling the customer service team as well as emailing and have not had one response. I am very upset about this as I will not be able to give the tickets as gifts any more as they have not arrived.

Thank you for taking the time to leave your review following your recent booking experience with the Studio Tour. I am disappointed to hear that you have not received a response to your previous emails or your gift box in the post. A member of our customer services team has responded to your latest email this evening to resolve this matter for you. Thank you for taking the time to contact us directly.

What an amazing place! We went today as a family and all loved it! The attention to detail really is something else! You can take as long as you like really, but it took us about 3.5 hours to complete, including lunch. The food there was okay! My daughter is only 2, but we will be back in a couple of years when she can appreciate it more

warner bros tour christmas

Easily spent 4 hours here and could have spent longer reading all the information about the props. You can spend as long as you want in each area except the Great Hall. Get the audio tour, especially if you are on your own, or have children who will wonder off. Very well organised entry, loads of free parking. My only disappointment was the queue for food at the backlot cafe halfway round. Long queue, I found the food overpriced and not particularly tasty coffee. £6 for an instant coffee and dry doughnut. My advice is to take a flask and a sandwich. All the staff were informative and enthusiastic, and I loved the 'snow' effect outside. Well stocked shop, but expensive (not surprising). I loved how many children were dressed up, and the interactive experiences had short queues and there was no pressure to get the resultant videos or photos. Much better value than Madam Tussards and cheaper than a theatre trip. Certainly appropriate as a 'special occasion' treat.

Visited today (Sunday) with our two kids, aged 11 and 14. Rescheduled from over a year ago. Arrived at 8.30 for 9am tickets, but was able to enter straight away. A bit of a queue going into the start of the tour, but really wasn’t too bad. You can see the cupboard under the stairs here. I’m not an HP fan, but really enjoyed the visit. I think you do need to have seen the films, or at least one of them! I found the background info on how things are filmed really interesting. Took our own lunch, but did buy some butterbeer. You can pay a bit more to have it in souvenir cups. Sat outside in the ‘snow’ to eat, which was fine as it’s pretty mild for December. Shame Privet Drive wasn’t open. Many many other exhibits to look at and read about. I liked the forest and the destroyed bank. Lots of hand sanitising stations and also lots of staff around to help. My kids enjoyed stamping their passport books. Main issue was the price of the gift shop. Yes, these places are always expensive, but this was extortionate. £5 for a 15cm stick of chocolate (a wand), £9+ keyrings... Apart from this, we had a really good day. Glad to have taken our youngest as she had missed out on going on her school trip. Ended up leaving just before 3pm.

I wasn’t too sure what to expect, I’m not a huge fan, but I was pleasantly surprised. £48 and worth every Penny for a 3.5 hour experience. Totally absorbed in the making of HP, loved all the sets, all the ‘try it out’ options. Not too overwhelming going on a Sunday in the run up to Christmas. Good control of the flow of people, good stewarding and it felt safe with masks and sanitise.

Enjoy Christmas Dinner at Hogwarts This Year

Guests at the Warner Bros. Studio Tour can pay to feast in the Great Hall used in the ‘Harry Potter’ movies.

What’s better than going through the Harry Potter sets on the Warner Bros. Studio Tour? Having a Harry Potter -themed Christmas dinner before the tour. You can have a (pardon the pun) magical night at the WB Studio Tour in England this year because for one night only, fans can have Christmas Dinner in the Great Hall they used for the Harry Potter films.

The event takes place on December 3rd (so you don’t have to ditch your family for real Christmas dinner), and according to Mashable , “the evening — which, as well as dinner, includes canapés, Butterbeer, a character wand, desert, drinks and entrance to the Studio Tour — will set you back a whopping £230 ($349).” The first ever “Dinner in the Great Hall” will take place from 6pm until midnight and is open to over 18s only .  There are no details on what the meal will entail beyond Butterbeer and canapés, but hopefully the delectable food J.K. Rowling outlined in the books will pop up on the menu.

After the meal the fun continues:

  • Explore the Studio Tour, admiring sets such as the Gryffindor common room and the Weasley’s kitchen at The Burrrow, which will also be dressed as they were for winter scenes.
  • Enjoy a selection of three festive dessert bowls on Platform 9 ¾ , alongside the original  Hogwarts Express.
  • Drink Butterbeer in the backlot café and walk up the wizarding shopping street, Diagon Alley , before taking in the breathtaking Hogwarts castle model (covered in a layer of filmmaking snow especially for the festive season).
  • Finish the evening with music and dancing, with a bar provided for those who wish to purchase additional drinks.

If you want to have yourself a very merry Harry Potter Christmas, click over to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour page and book your ticket now. Yes, it’s a little on the pricing side, but it sounds well worth the price of admission, although keep in mind that you’ll have to factor in the cost of travel and lodging as well.   For me personally, if I could afford to do this, I’d do it in a heartbeat. If you’ve got the galleons, I don’t know what you’re waiting for.
