MISFITS Announce Dallas Concert With Very Special Guest ALICE COOPER

Legendary punk rock band MISFITS will make their only headline appearance of 2022 at Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas, Texas for Halloween weekend on Saturday, October 29. The MISFITS , featuring original singer/songwriter Glenn Danzig and original bassist Jerry Only with Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein on guitar, will be joined by very special guest, Rock And Roll Hall Of Famer Alice Cooper and THE DISTILLERS . Tickets will go on sale on Friday, August 12 at 10 a.m. at LiveNation.com.

Next month, MISFITS will headline Riot Fest 2022 in Chicago, performing their landmark first album "Walk Among Us" in full for its 40th anniversary.

The initial comeback performance by MISFITS members Danzig , Only and Von Frankenstein took place at the 2016 Riot Fest . The estranged bandmates played together for the first time since 1983 and were backed by former SLAYER drummer Dave Lombardo and guitarist Acey Slade .

Since then, the original lineup of the MISFITS has reunited for scattered dates, with the most recent one taking place in October 2021 at the Aftershock festival in Sacramento.

Prior to the Riot Fest concerts, Glenn , Jerry and Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein last performed together on October 29, 1983.

Two years ago, Danzig told Rolling Stone magazine that he was happy with the way the MISFITS shows have been going. "Shit, we sold out Madison Square Garden," he said. "As a matter of fact, we oversold it. Back in the day, all the bigwig promoters and record label people were, like, 'A punk band will never headline Madison Square Garden.' And, of course, we're the first punk band to headline there. And not only did we sell it out, we oversold it. So a big fuck you to all those assholes, who are probably selling hotdogs on Sixth Avenue."

The original MISFITS band broke up in 1983, and Only brought forth a new version of the MISFITS in 1995. Various members have come and gone, but Only , along with BLACK FLAG 's Dez Cadena , has kept some form of the MISFITS in the recording studio and on the road for most of the last two and half decades.

In a 2016 interview with Rolling Stone , Only said about working with Danzig again: " Glenn is Glenn . We dealt with Glenn in the beginning and it's the same dealing with Glenn now. It doesn't change. It's just a different perspective. If we let Glenn be Glenn and do what we're supposed to do, it's gonna work. You don't argue with each other. I think we're over that. I think we're old enough now."

Asked what it was like keeping the MISFITS going for 20 years without Glenn , Only said: "There was always that hole. When Glenn split, there was always that feeling we were missing a component of what makes us what we are. And I'm sure the same goes on for him. In the other bands he was in, he's changed people left and right. When we play together, it's just us."

The Original Misfits will be celebrating Halloween in Dallas this year. The legendary horror-punk band has announced an October 29 show at Dos Equis Pavilion with special guests Alice Cooper and The Distillers.

As of now, the Dallas concert is one of only two shows the Original Misfits have on their schedule for 2022. The band is also set to headline Riot Fest in Chicago on September 17.

Tickets for the Dallas concert go on sale to the general public on Friday (August 12th) at 10 a.m. CT via Ticketmaster . An artist pre-sale begins on Tuesday, August 9th, at 10 a.m. CT using the code TEXASISTHEREASON, followed by Live Nation and Citi pre-sales starting Wednesday, August 11.

Since singer Glenn Danzig and bassist Jerry Only settled their decades-old feud to reunite the band’s classic members in 2016, the Original Misfits have only played a total of 14 shows in six years thus far. So, both the Riot Fest set and the Dallas gig mark rare occasions to see the punk icons in concert.

Danzig recently said he likely wouldn’t tour anymore following his eponymous band’s spring outing, only seeing himself playing one-off gigs here and there.

“[My current outing is] not really much of a tour,” Danzig told Revolver in May. “It’s 10 shows. I don’t think I’m going to tour anymore. I’m just going to fly out to a show here or there. I’ll maybe be down to do some one-offs. But I just don’t see myself getting on a tour bus anymore…I think I’m done.”

With both the Original Misfits and O.G. shock rocker Alice Cooper on the bill, the Dallas concert is truly an ultimate Halloween show, as both acts embody what the holiday is all about. Meanwhile, punk rockers The Distillers, led by Brody Dalle, also reunited a few years back after a 12-year hiatus.

ALICE COOPER, THE MISFITS, & THE DISTILLERS SET FOR HALLOWEEN WEEKEND GIG

Alice Cooper , the original lineup of the Misfits , and the Distillers have announced a Halloween weekend gig at Dallas' Dos Equis Pavilion for October 29th. Kerrang! reported the show will be the only gig the original Misfits play in 2022 with Glenn Danzig , Jerry Only , and Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein all on board.

Tickets will go on sale this Friday, August 12th at 10 a.m. local time.

A while back we caught up with Alice Cooper before one of his Halloween gigs and he joked about a possible costume: ["It's the one night when the audience is wearing as much makeup and stuff as we are. That's the one night I should actually dress up like Lou Dobbs. Right? I should dress as Lou. Nice Brooks Brothers suit. . . ( laughter )"] SOUNDCUE (:21 OC: . . . brooks brothers suit)

Alice Cooper next performs on September 7th in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania at Vision Nightclub at Wind Creek Event Center.

The Original Misfits are set to perform a special Halloween weekend gig this year, it will be the band’s only headline show of 2022.

Members Glenn Danzig, Jerry Only and Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein will take to the stage on Saturday 29 October at the Dos Equis Pavilion in Texas with guests Alice Cooper and The Distillers.

The Original Misfits will also be taking to the stage in September prior to their special show at Riot Fest in Chicago, but their Hallowen special will be their only headliner of this year.

In an interview with Kerrang!  last year about the band’s reunion, Danzing said: “Eventually Jerry and I worked out a bunch of our differences and we decided that if we were going to do a reunion, we were going to do it now rather than later, while we’re still young and vital and can still go crazy and run around a stage.”

Alice Cooper has been out and about playing shows recently and is set to play further venues across the US in September and early October, he recently spoke out against claims that rock is dead stating, “Gene Simmons said rock is dead but I think he was talking financially. I think there are kids in garages right now learning Guns N’ Roses, learning Aerosmith, learning Alice, learning Ozzy… Young 16-year-old kids rocking, just rocking. That’s healthy. That’s really healthy. I don’t think rock is ever gonna die.”

Original Misfits, Alice Cooper & The Distillers Plan Halloween Show 

A trio of legendary acts are set to take the stage at Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas, with The Original Misfits announcing a Halloween show, joined by Alice Cooper and The Distillers. Scheduled for October 29, the show has tickets on sale availiable to the general public for Friday, August 12 – presales are already open.

Consisting of singer/songwriter Glenn Danzig, bassist Jerry Only and Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein on guitar, The Original Misfits will have a productive fall as they are also set to be the headliners of Riot Fest in Chicago on September 17, as well, along with My Chemical Romance and Nine Inch Nails. The Riot Fest will see The Original Misfits perform a special 40th anniversary full-album performance of their classic 1982 debut, Walk Among Us . The Halloween gig is going to mark the band’s only non-festival headline show of 2022.

The Misfits was established in 1977, and has experienced the phases of dissolution, reformation, and finally reunion as the Original Misfits since then. Glenn Danzig revealed about the band’s reunion in an interview with Kerrang! last year: “Eventually Jerry and I worked out a bunch of our differences and we decided that if we were going to do a reunion, we were going to do it now rather than later, while we’re still young and vital and can still go crazy and run around a stage.”

The shock-rock legend Alice Cooper, on the other hand, plans his fall tour which starts on September 7, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and visits 19 cities until wrapping up in Las Vegas on October 8 before the Halloween show.

He has recently commented on Gene Simmons’ claim that rock is dead in an interview with LA Weekly , stating, “Gene Simmons said rock is dead but I think he was talking financially. Californian punk rockers The Distillers, reunited a few years back after a 12-year hiatus, will be on stage, too, with current members; Brody Dalle, lead vocals, guitar; Ryan Sinn on bass and backing vocals; Andy Granelli on drums and Tony “Bradley” Bevilacqua on lead guitar, backing vocals.

Misfits Announce Halloween Show in Dallas

The Original Misfits — featuring founding members Glenn Danzig and Jerry Only — have announced a big new show for 2022. Previously, the reunited horror-punk pioneers had just two live dates in their schedule book, September 17th at Riot Fest in Chicago and October 9th at Aftershock in Sacramento, California. But since it's not truly Halloween without a Misfits show, the devilocked demons have lined up a special gig for All Hallows Eve weekend on Saturday, October 29th. The lucky town? Dallas, Texas.

Shock-rock legend Alice Cooper and punk-rock veterans the Distillers are set to open the show at Dos Equis Pavilion. Tickets for the event will go on sale next Friday, August 12th at 10:00 a.m. via LiveNation.

For those heading to Riot Fest to see the Misfits play, you lucky bastards will get to see a special 40th anniversary full-album performance of their classic 1982 debut, Walk Among Us .

The classic Punk Rock band The Misfits announced a concert at Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas, Texas for the Halloween weeked on October 29. The show will have as special guests Alice Cooper and The Distillers.

The band will have the three classic members Jerry Only (Bass), Glenn Danzig (Vocals) and Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein (Guitar).

Besides the concert in Dallas, The Misfits will also perform in Chicago, IL at the Riot Fest on September 17 and in Sacramento, CA on October 9 at the Aftershock Festival. The line-up of the band also has the famous drummer Dave Lombardo (Ex-Slayer) and guitarist Acey Slade.

During the last years the band has reunited mostly on Halloween.

Formed in Lodi, New Jersey back in 1977, The Misfits are considered the progenitors of the Horror Punk subgenre, adding horror film references on their lyrics and image. In the early 80s the band released classic albums like “Walk Among Us” (1982) and “Earth A.D./Wolfs Blood (1983), which featured famous tracks like “Night of the Living Dead”, “Astro Zombies” and “Die, Die My Darling”.

In late 90s they released two successful studio albums without Glenn Danzig on vocals. “American Psycho” (1997) and “Famous Monsters” (1999) had the two classic members Jerry Only and Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein, the new singer Michale Graves and the drummer Dr. Chud. Those records had famous tracks like “Dig Up Her Bones”, “Scream”, “Helena” and “Dust To Dust”.

The Original Misfits announce only headline show of 2022

Alice Cooper and The Distillers will join The Original Misfits for a special Halloween weekend gig – the band’s only headline show of the year.

Following Riot Fest in September, The Original Misfits have announced a Halloween weekend gig with Alice Cooper and The Distillers .

The band – Glenn Danzig, Jerry Only and Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein – will be performing at the Dos Equis Pavilion in Dallas, Texas on October 29 for their only headline date of 2022. Tickets go on sale this Friday, August 12 at 10am local time.

Speaking to Kerrang! last year about the band’s reunion and how it came about, Glenn Danzig explained, “What I will say is that eventually Jerry [Only, Misfits bassist] and I worked out a bunch of our differences and we decided that if we were going to do a reunion, we were going to do it now rather than later, while we’re still young and vital and can still go crazy and run around a stage.”

When asked about a potential new Misfits album, the frontman revealed, “I’m taking it one day at a time, so we‘ll see where all this leads. If it ends up somewhere like that, then great. If not, it’s not a big deal.”
