A taste of Amsterdam

A great way to try numerous local delicacies that I wouldn’t have tried otherwise. We also learned a lot about Amsterdam. Gerard was very knowledgeable and easy to talk to!

This was such a fun tour!! Gerard was an exceptional tour guide and had everything set up and planned so well that we got to taste a lot of different foods despite being a little hindered by the rain . We all thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience and especially Gerard with his friendly personality and enthusiasm for his city and its food!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Danielle. She was vivacious, knowledgeable and good fun. The food was high quality and the boat excursion a wonderful finale to our outing. Highly recommend! Thank you, Danielle!

The tour was an awesome combination of Amsterdam history, culture, and cuisine! Danielle was an excellent tour guide—I would definitely request her services in the future!

This food tour was delightful. Our guide, Gerard, is a native of Amsterdam and shared loads of information in addition to the food experience. All the samples were interesting and delicious, with generous portions. Apple pie for breakfast, hooray! The tour took us to an area we probably would not have visited on our own, the Joordan. The canal cruise was really special--on an 1920's boat, with wine or beer, along canals we had not seed. Completely wonderful day.

Tolga was wonderful, and gave a great mix of history and knowledge about the food we tried. Definitely would take this tour again.

Hi Guys, my name is Jeroen, a typical dutch name and hard to pronounce if you don’t speak dutch.

So I got the nickname Jack or Skipper Jack Amsterdam. That last part I got because of my knowledge of the city.

I was born and raised in this beautiful city, Amsterdam.

I have seen a lot of places in the world. But nothing feels so much like home as this city. The friendly and open-minded people of Amsterdam will immediately give you that great feeling of home.

The trip was my 3 rd in my five-day stay in Amsterdam. You don´t want to miss him! His vibrant personality makes for a very pleasant and comfortable experience. Snacks and drinks are plentiful and it was a really informative journey!

Exceptional knowledge of the city and the wine and snacks were plentiful! Fun to be on a smaller boat so that we could all talk to each other!

A must trip. Skipper Jack gives an educated and humorous guided ride through the canals of Amsterdam. He is a generous host who involves his guests with stories and adventure!

Skipper Jack's canal cruise was fantastic! Snacks and drinks including beers and wine! Captain Jack was knowledgeable and was able to answer our questions. The boat was lined with cushions making it very comfortable. Jack is a lovely man and it was a pleasure to be in his company!

A RICK STEVES RECOMMENDATION and I myself can't recommend this tour enough. Mark caters to all age groups and interests, and provides you with an unique perspective of Amsterdam. If there is a particular area of history or interest, Mark will personalize the tour just for you. I came into the tour with very little background of Amsterdam, and left with a wealth of knowledge. Mark also takes the time to sit down with you and highlights specific museums, restaurants, and activities on a map that you otherwise would not know of. Mark took us out into the beautiful Dutch countryside to view and learn about the dykes and how the irrigation system works, then to visit a gorgeous, non-touristy seaside village(so so beautiful and quite a highlight), then to a working farm and then to the windmills with a lovely picnic lunch.
