Bandhavgarh National Park is best known for being a sanctuary for Bengal tigers, and most visitors make the journey to see one of these majestic big cats. The tiger population is so dense that the park's unofficial tagline claims you're lucky to see a tiger at most places, but you're unlucky not to see a tiger at Bandhavgarh.

For a safari from a different point of view, you can also book a hot air balloon ride over the park. You'll not only get a full panoramic view of the forest canopy, but it's also a less intrusive way to spot wildlife. Tigers are the main draw, but other mammals you may come across include leopards, deer, sloth bears, boars, jackals, Bengal foxes, gaur, and many others. Avid birders may be just as excited about the rich diversity of avian wildlife as they are about the tigers.

Apart from safari adventures, there are important cultural attractions to see as well. Shesh-Saiya is a reclining 35 foot-long stone statue of Lord Vishnu dating back to the 10th century with a stream known as Charan Ganga flowing from the statue's feet. The Baghel Museum lets visitors explore the royal belongings of the past Maharaja of Rewa, including a taxidermied white tiger that was the first to ever be seen by humans. The centuries-old Bandhavgarh Fort is no longer open to tourists, but you can learn about this important cultural and historical site while visiting the museum.

Safaris through the forest are the number one attraction in the park, but the government sets strict limits on who can enter and when. Safaris depart twice a day—once in the early morning and once in the late afternoon—and only a limited number of vehicles are allowed at each time, so it's important you make advance reservations to secure your place. The reservation fee covers your permit to enter the park, but you'll need to pay for your vehicle and guide separately when you arrive. Visitors must enter the park with a guide and authorized vehicle, as entering on your own is not allowed.

Bandhavgarh is divided into three core zones and you'll have to choose which one you want to explore when you make your reservation. Tala is the main zone and the most popular option for safaris because tigers are frequently spotted here. Nearby is Magdhi, located on the fringe of the park but also with excellent tiger sightings. The last one is Khitauli, which is more scenic and great for bird watching, but tigers are seen less frequently here.

For those who want a real adventure but to leave the planning to someone else, the park organizes multi-day tours that last from a few nights and up to three weeks. These tours start in a major city like Delhi and include transport to the park plus stops in other destinations along the way.

Most accommodations are located in the village of Tala, the gateway into the national park. The national park is in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh , an area that is known for its tiger sanctuaries. The nearest village is Tala, which is also the main entry point for getting into the park. The nearest big city is Jabalpur, which is about 124 miles (200 kilometers) away. Because of the road conditions and mountainous terrain, plan for at least four to five hours of travel by car by Jabalpur. Most visitors arrive first in Jabalpur, which has an airport with direct connections to major cities like Delhi, Mumbai, and Hyderabad.

Alternatively, you can get close to Bandhavgarh by rail from all major cities. The nearest train station is in Umaria, about 45 minutes away by car.

• The weather starts to heat up in March and April, which means the tigers are more likely to come out to cool themselves in the long grass or to look for water. May and June are also good for sightings, but summer is in full force and the days are sweltering.
• Even though most visitors hope to see a tiger, Bandhavgarh isn't a zoo and a sighting isn't guaranteed. Set your expectations before you head out and remember that there is much more to see within the park than just tigers.

The Bandhavgarh Fort is a beautiful manifestation of the architectural proficiency that existed in the early times. The fort was handed over to Lord Lakshman by his brother Lord Ram to keep a watch on Lanka. The meaning of Bandhavgarh is ‘brother’s fort’. Thus, the name Bandhavgarh came into being.

A statue of Lord Vishnu, which dates back to the 10th century, is placed on the premises of Bandhavgarh Fort. There is also a spring nearby, which is said to be the origin of Charan Ganga. To reach the fort, one has to trek up to a hill, which makes this tour much more adventurous.

Jungle Safari - There are two ways to explore Bandhavgarh National Park. The first one is through Jeep Safari and the second option is Elephant Safari. Although Jeep Safari is more comfortable as compared to Elephant Safari, Elephant Safari is the most preferred way to explore the national park and witness the king of the jungle.

The Bandhavgarh National Park has four zones that are accessible to the tourist for safari. These three zones are the Tala zone (Gate 1), Magdhi zone (Gate 2), Khitauli zone (Gate 3), and Bandhavgarh Fort.

The Tala and Magdhi zones are most frequented by tourists. These two zones offer the most chances to spot a tiger. The Safari timings differ according to seasons. Jeep Safaris are conducted twice a day.

The morning safari starts from 6:30 am to 11 am and the evening safari starts from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

Elephant Safari - Elephant safari is a rewarding experience to witness the tigers by sitting safely on the back of the elephant. It provides a golden opportunity of witnessing tigers in a detailed manner, enjoying the elephant ride along with the tiger tour, and it is considered to be a very safe tour.

Jeep Safari - Open jeep safari is one of the best way to capture the sight of wild animals. Jeep safaris take you to those places which are difficult to travel via other vehicles. The jeep safari can be done twice a day and only six people are allowed at a time.

The morning shift starts at 4 am while the afternoon shift starts between 2 to 3 pm. It takes place from all four zones and it is recommended to book in advance.

Bandhavgarh National Park is famous for the proportion of the mighty beast it houses. It is probably one of those rare national parks where the sight of tigers (Royal Bengal and white tiger) is very common. It has the largest density of tigers in India, which has been increasing over the years. Although, it is noteworthy that, Bandhavgarh has more to offer, than just tigers. This national park houses the largest breed of leopards and a diverse variety of deer.

Other than these, the famous animals that can be spotted here are Asiatic jackal, Bengal fox, grey mongoose, chinkara, striped hyena,ratel, jungle cat, sloth bear, chausingha, nilgai, and gaur, to name some. Reptilian fauna like rat,turtle, krait, viper, snake, cobra, python, and lizard species like the varanus can also be traced in the national park.

Bandhavgarh National park is a gem for those who fancy bird watching. Bandhavgarh has around 250 species of birds of which around 112 are migratory birds. The sight of birds like grey hornbill, white-breasted kingfisher, steppe eagles, red jungle fowl, green pigeons, and paradise flycatchers will soothe the soul.

February to June is considered the best time to visit Bandhavgarh National Park. The park remains closed from the 1st day of July to the 15th day of October every year. It’s advisable to visit the national park in winters as the weather remains very subtle during this time. Summers are usually not a very pleasant time to visit as the temperature may rise to 44-degree Celsius.

On your first day of the Bandhavgarh National Park tour package, you will be staying in Khajuraho. After checking in your hotel, take some rest, and post-lunch, explore the majestic Khajuraho temple(collectively called Khajuraho group of temples) to witness exquisite architectural chivalry. The temples are said to be the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

In the morning start your journey to Bandhavgarh National Park which is an eight hour drive from Khajuraho. After checking in to your resort, you will be taken for the evening Jeep Safari to explore the national park.

Day 3 It starts with the Elephant Safari. Elephant Safari is the most convenient way to explore the wildlife as it always provides a better chance to have a sight of different animals as compared to any other mode of jungle Safari. In the afternoon, explore the local markets around the resort.

On the fourth day of your tour, you will be exploring the Bandhavgarh Fort, a UNESCO world heritage site. It's almost an hour hike from the National Park. Bandhavgarh tour packages, bandhavgarh jungle safari timings.

Travellers can enjoy jeep safari in three different zones in Bandhavgarh National Park (which we will discuss later). There are limited numbers of vehicles allowed to enter the park in each shift. Open safari jeeps are available for group tours accompanied by a guide. The safari timing varies as per the season. Since the duration of daylight is shorter in winter, morning safari starts late and evening safari ends earlier. The national park opens only from October 16 to June 30. Here are the safari timings –

Note – Evening safari is closed for visitors Every Wednesday. Both Evening and Morning safaris are closed during Indian festivals.

Here’s what you need to provide for safari booking – Full name of every passenger Nationality Age and Gender ID proof like Driving License, Aadhar Card, Passport, Voter ID, or PAN card Also carry the original ID proof to show at the time of entry.

Getting There Spread over Vindhya Hills, Bandhavgarh National Park has over 105 sq. km of core region and 400 sq. km of buffer zone. There are three options to reach Bandhavgarh –

Road – Bandhavgarh National Park has direct road connectivity from Satna, Maihar, Jabalpur, Khajuraho and Umaria. You can quickly get here by bus or private taxi from these cities.

Train – Umaria and Katni are the closest railway stations to Bandhavgarh. Umaria is located only 45 minutes’ drive (35 km) from here, while Katni is around 100 km from Bandhavgarh.

Air – Khajuraho and Jabalpur are the closest airports to reach Bandhavgarh. You can reach Khajuraho and Jabalpur from all major cities in India, and then you can book a cab or reach there by train or bus.

Best Time to Visit Bandhavgarh National Park welcomes the tourists every year from October 15 to June 30. Winter is the peak season to visit Bandhavgarh National Park, and October to March are the busy months for the national park. Winter is also the best time if you don’t want to bear summer’s heat. But most of the vegetation is dried from March to May when tiger sighting is relatively easy.

Bandhavgarh Safari Zones

Tala – It is one of the most beautiful and oldest safari zones of Bandhavgarh, and also the most important zone for spotting tigers. You can also visit some of the tourist attractions here like Siddh Baba, Badi Gufa, Chakradhara, 3-Cave Point, and Sita Mandap.

Magadhi (Gate No. 2) – It is full of lush grasslands and dense jungles. It is located in the southeast of Tala zone. Tigers also enter this zone from Magadhi zone. So, the chances of tiger sightings are also high in this zone.

Khitauli (Gate No. 3) – It is located in the west of tiger reserve. Tala and Magadhi zones are located on the right side and Khitauli zone is located on the left side. It is also frequented by tourists for bird-watching.

Bandhavgarh National Park has a rich history, associated with the flourishing medieval city of Bandhavgarh. The term BANDHAV means brother or friend. GARH word means fort. So, the overall meaning is Fort of a brother / friend. The name of the National Park is derived from this term. The fort is considered to be one of the marvels of ancient ‘Treta Yug’ period. The Baghels were the main rulers of the region in the medieval era for the longest period.

When the Baghels shifted capital city of their kingdom to Rewa, the Bandhavgarh region was somewhat cut-off. The region was later developed into a thick forest habitat for wild animals, mainly tigers. It was soon declared as a game reserve for the Royals.

As years passed by, rules shifted through various focal points, and ultimately in 1968, the State Government got the rights of the land and the forest. In the year 1982, it was declared a National Park. After 11 years, in 1993, the Park became a Tiger Reserve under the scheme of Project Tiger.

Flora of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve

The region of the National Park is regarded as the greenest part of Umaria district. The higher hills in the Park are covered with tall grasses. The Park has a dense forest of predominantly Sal and Bamboo trees, which you would witness in Bandhavgarh wildlife packages.

The number of flora species in the Park is more or less 300. The rivulets and streams flowing in the Park help greenery to flourish further. You can also spot Tendu and Arjun trees in the forest. The region is also known for trees such as Palas, Salai, Mango and Jamun. There are also Babul, Banyan, Khajoor, Kadam, and Madhuca trees. You can also find tree varieties form contrasting vegetation such as Neem and Mohua, while enjoying Bandhavgarh affordable packages. Moreover, there are 1336 species of endemic plants in the region.

Fauna of Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve

The number of species of mammals in Bandhavgarh National Park is at least 22. There are also 250 bird species in the Park. The main attraction is of course the kingly beast – The Royal Bengal Tiger. The Park is one of the best known Tiger Reserves in the world.

The wide spectrum of faunas found in the Park is quite impressive. Besides Bengal tigers, there are also White tigers that are even rarer species. You can also spot leopards, and jungle cats, from the cat family. Sloth bears, grey mongooses, Gaur and Barking deer are some of the common species. Getting a glimpse of a striped hyena during Bandhavgarh adventure packages is also not uncommon.

Climate of Bandhavgarh National Park

The climate of the Park varies throughout the year, significantly. During winter months, which begin from mid-February and extent till March, the nights have nearly freezing temperatures, at 1 to 2 degree Celsius on certain occasions. The daytime temperature hovers around 15 to 20 degree Celsius, and you would enjoy availing Bandhavgarh family packages during this time. The tropical weather conditions in the Park make the summer nights cooler than usual – in mod-twenties in degree Celsius. The days are dry and hot, and the temperature is in mid-thirties. The summer season is from March to June. The Park remains closed in monsoon.

Best Time to Visit Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve

It is practically useful to know about the best time to avail Bandhavgarh holiday packages, so that you can plan the tour in a more organized manner. For visiting Bandhavgarh National Park, choose anytime between mid-October to June. You would get lots of opportunities in a standard Bandhavgarh National Park itinerary to see the royal beast, the tiger, in this time period. Also, there would be no issues in getting glimpses of various other faunas. If you love holidaying in chilly winter months, then you can plan the tour during December to February. Note that tourists are not allowed during rainy season.

How to Reach Bandhavgarh Safari Park?

By Rail: It is quite easy to reach Bandhavgarh National Park by train. You can reach the Umaria railway station, which is merely 35 km from the Park. From the station, you can avail any private vehicle, such as a taxi or private car, to reach your destination. You can also reach the Katni railway station, 100 km from the Park, and hire a car. It would be a two-hour drive.

By Road: Bandhavgarh is nicely connected to all major cities and towns in Madhya Pradesh, like Jabalpur, Satna etc. The roads are in good conditions. From Jabalpur, it would take a 4-hor drive to reach Bandhavgarh National Park. If you plan to visit the place from Nagpur, Maharashtra, the drive time is approximately 9 hours.

By Air: Jabalpur Airport is the nearest airport to the Park. It is about 200 km from your destination. You would get lots of transportation options from the airport.

Guide to Bandhavgarh National Park and taking a wildlife and tiger safari in India

WHAT’S THE BEST PLACE to see a wild tiger in India? There’s some debate of course, but many will say Bandhavgarh National Park is the best place for tiger safari in India. In other words,  Bandhavgarh gives you the best chances of spotting a tiger in India. Located in Madhya Pradesh, in the heart of the country, Bandhavgarh National Park’s unique terrain, combined with the density of tigers, makes it a great place for a tiger and wildlife safari in India. I can personally recommend Bandhavgarh for two reasons: one, I saw my first tiger in India there (in 2016), and two, I have seen a tiger every time I have gone on wildlife safari in this beautiful national park of India.

Naturally, there are never any guarantees you will see a wild tiger when you go on a safari in India – the parks don’t allow radio collars or walkie talkies. All about tigers

Thanks to tiger protection and conservation measures that started in the 1970s, India’s wild tiger population is on the rise. Every four years a tiger census is conducted. In 2008, there were 1,411 tigers in India , increasing to 1,706 in 2010, and to 2,226 in 2014.

UPDATE : Just released on July 29, 2019 — Global Tiger Day — the 2018 tiger census revealed that the wild tiger population increased substantially to 2,967.

There are 50 tiger reserves scattered throughout the country dedicated to protecting and conserving them. Madhya Pradesh, a large state in the very centre of India, has six tiger reserves – the most of any state in India – including my favourite, Kanha (you can read my Guide to Kanha National Park here) and Bandhavgarh. All about Bandhavgarh National Park

Bandhavgarh has a rich and ancient history. Tenth century Bandhavgarh Fort sits majestically atop Bandhavgarh hill (unfortunately, the fort is not open to the public). “Bandhav” means brother in Sanskrit and “garh” means fort, so the name of the fort – and the park – is brother’s fort. The brother in question is Lakshman, younger brother of Ram, which means Bandhavgarh is associated with the Ramayana epic. This thickly forested region was part of the Maharaja of Rewa’s hunting grounds until 1968, when the family granted the land to the government to become a national park. In 1993, it was declared a tiger reserve under the Project Tiger initiative.

Bandhavgarh park is divided into a core area, with three zones open to the public, and a buffer zone, totalling 1,598 square kilometres (including Panpatha Wildlife Sanctuary). The core area is 716 square kilometres, with the buffer zone adding another 820 square kilometres – but the area open to the public is only 105 square kilomtres.

The zones open to the public are Tala, Magadhi, and Khitauli, and they each restrict the number of vehicles that can enter. Tala was the original zone, and it includes Bandhavgarh hill and the ancient fort. Three buffer zones, spread over Umaria and Katni district, were added to the Bandhavgarh to alleviate the pressure on the core zones and give more people an opportunity to visit the park. They are Dhamokhar, Panpatha and Johila. 

As of this writing, summer 2019,   Bandhavgarh has about 60 tigers , though locals say there could be as many as 65 to 75. This figure does not include cubs, only full-grown, adult tigers. Over the past winter, every female tiger in Bandhavgarh had cubs, so there was a lot of opportunity to see mother tigers with their cubs.

This is why Bandhavgarh is probably the best place to see a wild tiger in India — with so many tigers in such a small tiger reserve, your chances are better than just about anywhere else, plus the terrain helps, too. Spread over the Vindhyachal mountain range, in the Umaria and Katni districts of Madhya Pradesh, Bandhavgarh is comprised of a semi-dry deciduous forest, grasslands and sal forests, 32 hills, and some stunning dramatic scenery that includes soaring cliffs and rocky plateaus (especially in Tala zone, which has the most photogenic landscape and some say the highest tiger density, too).

The reserve experiences at least three seasons – summers, winters and monsoon – and it’s generally in well-preserved condition under the care of the Forest Department. (Though I have issue with the state of the toilets, which are deplorable …)

Bandhavgarh opens October 15 each year, and closes at the end of June. The park is closed from July 1 to October 14 to give the animals a break, and because of the monsoon season.

How to book a wildlife and tiger safari in Bandhavgarh

Bandhavgarh is a very popular national park and tiger reserve, and the number of vehicles that can enter each day is highly restricted. This means, it’s imperative to book your safari in advance (at least 90 days) to ensure that you get the dates you want.

You can enter the park either by jeep (Maruti Gypsy) or canter, an open bus-like vehicle. My preference would always be for the Gypsy of course, as it is small and agile, and you are with only 4 or 5 other people.

There are three core zones open to the public: Tala, Magadhi, and Khitauli, and you will be assigned a zone.

There are two safaris each day, morning and afternoon – and the park is closed every Wednesday afternoon. Timings for safaris in the core zone are:

• Morning: 6 am – 10 am or 6:30 – 10:30 am (depending on season)
• Afternoon: 2:30 pm – 5:30 pm or 3:00 – 6:00 pm or 4:00 – to 7 pm (depending on season)

You can book a safari permit through the MP Forest Department website but you will still need to book a guide and vehicle. If you are staying at a luxury lodge, they can book your safaris and provide you with a guide and vehicle.

Always remember to carry your passport with you on safari as it will be checked at the gate. You will be turned away if your passport does not match the booking name and details. Also remember to bring everything with you, as once you enter the park, you cannot leave and come back.

Best time to go on safari in India

Bandhavgarh is worth visiting every day that it’s open, but there are different seasons and different reasons for going. Fall is pleasant, December and January are cold (it can drop to 2 C.) and April to June is very hot and can reach 45 C. – but it’s the best time to see tigers because they gather at water holes to cool off and drink.

Tala is said to be a good zone for tigers while Khitauli is said to be a good zone for birding. Late fall, when the migratory birds appear, is a great time for birding at Bandhavgarh.

What to wear on tiger safari in India

Never wear bright colours on wildlife safari. It disturbs the animals. Wear earthy tones like beige and khaki, and layers as it’s chilly in the morning and then warms up. A hat is essential and so is a buff, or scarf, to cover your nose and mouth on dusty drives. Wear sunscreen and bring sunglasses, plus binoculars, camera equipment, your passport and some rupee notes to tip the guides. I also recommend a water bottle, tissue, and hand sanitizer (plus wet wipes). Toilet conditions are not good at Bandhavgarh, I’m sorry to say, you are basically on your own as far as hygiene is concerned.

Getting to Bandhavgarh National Park

Like all the best tiger reserves, Bandhavgarh is in a remote location and it does take a bit of time and effort to get there. Of course, it’s absolutely worth it when you do. The nearest train stations are Umaria (45-minute drive) and Katni (two-and-a-half hour drive). The nearest airport is Jabalpur, a four or five-hour drive away. There are trains and flights from Delhi every day. If you are coming from Khajuraho, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Madhya Pradesh, I recommend driving. Though it’s a long drive, it’s the most direct way to get there.

Once you make the journey all the way to Bandhavgarh, you are within driving distance of Kanha National Park, another one of the best parks in India for seeing a tiger. And from Kanha, you can drive to Pench, and then from there to Satpura.

Animals, birds, and wildlife in Bandhavgarh National Park

There’s lots more to Bandhavgarh than tigers. It’s a great spot for birding with more than 150 species, plus 22 mammals including leopards, sambar deer, nilgai, gaur, Asiatic jackal, sloth bear, jungle cat and wild pig. Birds sighted include lesser adjutant crane, sarus crane, black kite, crested serpent eagle, grey hornbill, white breasted kingfisher, and an abundance of Indian rollers.

My first tiger: A story

Did you know I saw my first wild tiger in Bandhavgarh National Park? I was on my very first wildlife safari in Madhya Pradesh, one of the first of my life (I had been on two in Ranthambhore), with Naresh “Gudda” Singh from Pugdundee Safaris Kings Lodge as my guide. We were on a tea break when Gudda heard a growl, and said, “Get in the jeep!” We slammed down our glass tea cups and jumped in. Gudda raced along the road, and suddenly stopped. I have no idea how he knew where to stop, it seemed magical at the time (but of course that’s his skill) … and then out of the forest, a sub-adult male tiger walked nonchalantly towards us. He may have been non-plussed, but I was most definitely plussed! I don’t know how I was able to capture this video, below, as I was so excited. I felt a sense of euphoria that is hard to describe. Pugdundee Safaris Kings Lodge Bandhavgarh

You can never go wrong with Pugdundee Safaris. This company ticks every box, and at a reasonable price that gives you a lot of value for money. The Kings Lodge is one of the company’s premier lodges, and it’s a very special place. A welcoming main lodge building includes a reception, library, dining room, pool, store, and outdoor terrace with firepit. Rooms are in individual cottages with large balconies, and lots of comfort and extra touches – way too many to list here. The food is great, the people are better, and the naturalists are the best of the best. I also like the location, in the buffer zone surrounded by grasslands and walking trails. Pugdundee Safaris Tree House Hideaway

Who wouldn’t want to stay in a tree house? Especially one that provides comfort and touches of luxury, like a shower with a sliding door that makes it open-air, a cushy seating area, a large balcony, and almost complete privacy. I’m very fond of the Pugdundee Safaris Tree House Hideaway, a charming property immersed in the forest buffer zone of Bandhavgarh. You really do feel you’re in a tree house in the forest. Even the main lodge building is built around a huge mahua tree, with a lounge upstairs and an open-air dining room on the main floor. There is something very romantic about Tree House Hideaway, especially if you have a private field dinner. I can’t recommend this place enough. Staying here and going on wildlife safaris will give you a harmonious experience of the jungles of Madhya Pradesh. You can read more about Pugdundee Safaris lodges here .

Bandhav Vilas

I wanted to include a more budget-friendly property in this recommended list so I spent an afternoon at Bandhav Vilas and I was really impressed. It is a place that’s designed for groups, so it doesn’t have that boutique feel, but they’ve done a great job to make the place both comfortable and still retain a cultural flavour with the design of the villas. They have a huge swimming pool and a large organic garden that provides the kitchen with produce. I also understand from my research and experience, they have excellent naturalists working there, so you will definitely be in good hands.

Taj Hotels Mahua Kothi

I spent an afternoon at Mahua Kothi and was very impressed. Though it is a luxury property, it retains a very natural, rustic feeling that befits a wildlife lodge. In fact, the company modelled their wildlife lodges after the very best in Africa. So you can enjoy the finer things in life without losing a sense that you are in a natural environment, and on a quest to enjoy the jungles and wildlife of central India. The lodge, dining areas, swimming pool, spa, and rooms are all designed to showcase the local culture and landscape. You will not be disappointed staying here, and of course the staff and naturalists are all best-in-class. To be honest, I was pleasantly surprised.

Samode Safari Lodge

The Samode Safari Lodge is perhaps the most luxurious lodge in the Bandhavgarh area, and the most remote. I had breakfast and toured the property and really enjoyed the food and the ambience. A Relais&Chateaux hotel, Samode is owned and run by the same group that owns and runs the famous Samode Palace Hotel in Jaipur (as well as the Samode Haveli and he Samode Bagh). The lodge features a tastefully decorated main building with wooden terraces, fire places, lounges, a pool room and library and various dining options. Twelve luxury villas are spread around the property, giving you privacy and comfort, and a pool, gym and spa are also available. The in-house naturalists take you into the park, which is a distance away as the Samode Safari Lodge is in a remote area.

Day 1 : Arrival at Jabalpur - Kanha (By road approx 170Kms/03hrs drive)

Once you reach Jabalpur airport, our representative will receive you and take you on a road trip to Kanha National Park . The road trip will take three hours.

Once you reach Kanha, you will be checked into a resort. The day is at leisure and you can relax in your room or enjoy any in-house resort activities.

Day 2 : Kanha National Park (Morning and Evening Safari)

The day starts early in the morning with a jeep safari . You will be picked up from your hotel and taken on a jeep safari along with an experienced wildlife naturalist to guide you . There you will see Royal Bengal Tiger, sloth bear, leopards, Indian wild dog and Barasingha and more wildlife species.

After safari, you will return to hotel. The afternoon is open for you to enjoy any activity or relax in the resort. After lunch, you will be taken for the evening safari . You will return to the hotel by late evening. Dinner and overnight stay in Kanha.

Day 3 : Kanha - Bandhavgarh National Park (By road approx 230kms/05hrs drive)

After breakfast, you will be checked out from the hotel and taken on a road trip to Bandhavgarh . It will take five hours to reach Bandhavgarh National Park .

Once you reach Bandhavgarh, you will check into a resort. The rest of the evening is free. You can enjoy any in-house activities in the resort or explore any nature tracks of your choice.

Day 4 : Bandhavgarh National Park

After the safari, you will be taken back to the hotel for lunch and a brief rest in the afternoon. In the evening, you will be taken back to the park for evening jeep safari .

Day 5 : Bandhavgarh National Park - Jabalpur (Departure)

After breakfast, the checkout formalities start. You will be transferred to Jabalpur airport or the closest railway station. You can also continue your vacation from Bandhavgarh as you please.
