Some tourists (including us) decided to stay on the bus at stop 1. The bus stopped, people got off and nobody made any sort of announcement. Then, 15 minutes later in the sun and heat, people started complaining with each other. One tourist looked over the window and asked a lady when the bus was leaving as we've been sitting there for 15 minutes without information. She replied, in a rude tone - Questions, questions, questions! We all looked at each other, shocked. The next day we were at stop one for the blue line. I tried to get the attention of the man standing at the stop, to ask about the walking tour. He said- what can I do for you? while looking at his phone. So I waited for him to stop looking at his phone so I could ask, he annoyingly put his phone down and said WHAT? We decided to start the tour on the second day, but the voucher had disappeared from the wallet. My TripAdvisor account showed it as “completed” so I could not retrieve it at all. Your agent on the bus was ultimately able to reprint it from my receipt details, but it is confusion we could have done without. The actual tours were good. Typical of these pre-recorded types where now and again you sit at a stop for 10 minutes or so. Boat trip was mediocre at best. The buses had longer wait times than advertised (45+ minutes at times). We ended up getting a taxi two times due to the extended wait times. The app and website are poor and frustrating. We bough the 48 hrs pass through TripAdvisor and paid more for a 48 hrs (versus 24) because it included a river cruise and walking tour. We showed up at the cruise location and time posted both in the app and on the pamphlet on the bus - no one showed - so we couldn’t do the cruise that we paid for as part of the package. Instead of feeling ripped off for paying for two 24 hour tickets for poorly timed busses, we were even more disappointed that we were roped into paying more for 48 hrs with the cruise that we couldn’t even participate in because they no showed. We were a small group of 5 people so it was perfect. The hop on and off bus tour portion was less enjoyable mainly because the audio was not in sync with the landmarks we were passing so it became frustrating and had we known that we would have passed it up and just gone with the walking tour. Gives a great overview then convenient transportation to where you want to get off and explore more. The only reason I'm not giving this 5 stars is that we bought a deluxe ticket that included a nighttime tour of the city. • nathalien515 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Good way to get around Vienna and learn about its history Bit pricey for 39€ for a “24-hr” ticket, which really is t valid 24 hrs as it expires the same day at 1700. My tour didn’t start until 0920, earliest bus available. This day ticket runs a blue line and a red line, which is common for the Hop on Hop Off in other cities. I took the blue line first, and in the afternoon the red line. Each line takes 1:50 hrs if you would do it’s complete round and not get off at all. You can download an interactive map so even though the bus schedule is every 20 min, you can see when you next bus is nearby live. That’s pretty neat. The things that have been told were not interesting and they kept telling us the same thing. Thereby, the bus stood still more often than it was riding. We followed the instructions of how to get to the ticket office, but the person working had no idea what to do and sent us to the dock. We were very lucky to find a kind member of staff who called their admin team agreed we could have a ticket based on the booking details we had. The boat ride consists of looking at mainly residential buildings, lots of detailed graffiti to look at, if you like that! The ride is smooth but not really my thing. The next day we went on both bus routes and learned a lot. Make sure you download the Big Bus App so you can track the buses, locate the bus stops and see what they look like. It also gives you detail of each stop and what is there! Really good App! The second bus we went on had a perspex roof that you couldn't see through, so that hampered what we could see! Day 1 Barcelona – Zaragoza – Madrid

We’ll meet at 4 p.m. at our hotel in Luzern (Lucerne) for a “Welcome to Switzerland” meeting. Then we’ll take a meandering evening walk through Switzerland’s most charming lakeside town, and get acquainted with one another over dinner together. Sleep in Luzern (2 nights). No bus. Walking: light.

Day 2 Zürich–Biel/Bienne–Neuchâtel–Geneva

Enjoy an orientation walk of Zurich’s OLD TOWN, Switzerland’s center of banking and commerce. Then, leave Zurich and start your Swiss adventure. You’ll quickly discover that Switzerland isn’t just home to the Alps, but also to some of the most beautiful lakes. First, stop at the foot of the Jura Mountains in the picturesque town of Biel, known as Bienne by French-speaking Swiss, famous for watch-making, and explore the historical center. Next, enjoy a scenic drive to lakeside Neuchâtel, dominated by the medieval cathedral and castle. Time to stroll along the lake promenade before continuing to stunning Geneva, the second-largest city in Switzerland, with its fantastic lakeside location and breathtaking panoramas of the Alps.

Day 3 Enchanting Engelberg

Our morning drive takes us from Swiss lakes to Swiss Army. At the once-secret Swiss army bunker at Fortress Fürigen, we’ll see part of the massive defense system designed to keep Switzerland strong and neutral. Afterward, a short drive into the countryside brings us to the charming Alpine village of Engelberg, our picturesque home for the next two days. We’ll settle into our lodge then head out for an orientation walk. Our stroll through the village will end at the Engelberg Abbey, a Benedictine monastery with its own cheese-making operation. You’ll have free time to wander back before dinner together. Sleep in Engelberg (2 nights). Bus: 1 hr. Walking: light.

Day 4 Interlaken Area. Excursion to The Jungfrau Massif

An unforgettable trip to the high Alpine wonderland of ice and snow is the true highlight of a visit to Switzerland. Globus Local Favorite At an amazing 11,332 feet, the JUNGFRAUJOCH is Europe’s highest railway station. Jungfrau’s 13,642-foot summit was first ascended in 1811 and in 1912 the rack railway was opened. There are lots of things to do here: enjoy the ALPINE SENSATION, THE PANORAMA 360° EXPERIENCE, and the ICE PALACE. Also receive your JUNGFRAU PASSPORT as a souvenir to take home with you. The round trip to the “Top of Europe” by MOUNTAIN TRAIN will take most of the day.

Day 5 Lake Geneva and Château de Chillon

It’s market day in Lausanne! Enjoy browsing and packing a picnic lunch for our 11 a.m. boat cruise on Lake Geneva. A few miles down-shore we’ll dock at Château de Chillon, where we’ll have a guided tour of this delightfully medieval castle on the water. On our way back we’ll take time to peek into the vineyards surrounding Lutry before returning to Lausanne. Boat: 2 hrs. Bus: 1 hr. Walking: moderate.
