Event Details

Busted have announced that they will be celebrating their 20 th anniversary with an arena tour which is heading to The O2 on 10, 27 September and 10 October 2023. The band will be joined by special guests Hanson and The Tyne.

Impossible though it may seem, it’s been twenty years since Busted bounced into the charts with the irrepressible pop-punk energy of their debut single ‘What I Go To School For’ . It kickstarted a succession of hits for the trio, including the #1 smashes ‘Crashed The Wedding’, ‘Who’s David’ , ‘Thunderbirds Are Go’, ‘You Said No’ and the Top 3 singles ‘Year 3000’ , ‘Air Hostess’ and ‘Sleeping WIth The Light On’. Now Busted celebrate their 20th anniversary by announcing details of a major UK arena tour, alongside a series of new versions of fifteen of their classic hits to be released in the build-up, with some very special guests

The tour will see the original much-loved trio - James Bourne, Charlie Simpson and Matt Willis - play their hits and fan-favourites this September. The first track to launch the 20 th anniversary celebrations will be a new version of Busted’s song ‘Loser Kid’ featuring Simple Plan, which will be released on 14 April. Loser Kid featured as the final track on their self-titled debut album and was co-written by Bourne, Simpson and Willis.

Busted’s many successes spread far beyond the singles charts. Three of their four studio albums also peaked at #2, with 4.5 million sales leading to eight Platinum certifications as well as a total of 25 weeks in the Top 10 and two 5x Platinum selling albums. They have won two BRIT Awards - Best Pop Act and Best British Breakthrough - while multiple sold-out arena tours have seen them sell more than 2 million tickets.

Busted’s 20th anniversary tour follows Charlie Simpson’s recent triumph as the winner of 2023’s ’The Masked Singer’, adding to his other projects which have included four solo albums and four albums with the rock band Fightstar. James Bourne is a renowned songwriter, with credits including McFly, The Jonas Brothers, 5 Seconds of Summer and The Vamps, as well as his band Son of Dork and two recent solo albums ‘Safe Journey Home’ (2020) and ‘Sugar Beach’ (2022). After releasing his debut solo album, Matt Willis famously won ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here’ leading to a successful television career as well as acting roles which have included the recent West End hit ‘2:22 A Ghost Story’.

Twenty years after they first hit the top of the charts, Busted have announced they will be going on a 20th Anniversary & Greatest Hits Tour.

Hits such as Year 3000 and Crashed The Wedding helped the band from Southend-on-Sea sell more than five million records and win two Brit awards for British Breakthrough Artist and Best Pop Act before their split in 2004.

Now in their late 30s, Matt Willis, 39, Charlie Simpson, 37, and James Bourne, 39, and are getting back together as they mark 20 years since they had a number one with You Said No.

Busted will perform at 15 different venues all over the UK as they relive their greatest hits from the early 2000s.

Speaking to The Sun, Willis added, "Now it feels like it's meant to feel. It's like the very beginning all over again. Right now it feels like it's barely even begun."

The band had been teasing fans in recent weeks on their social media accounts, building expectations of a reunion after a cryptic post on Instagram, captioned: '23/03/23 #Busted20'.

The post features a Busted VHS cassette being put into an old VCR and TV, on which the band's logo then appears.

Busted is back, ITV News' Faye Barker reports

Boyband Busted has announced a comeback tour to celebrate their 20th anniversary.

The Year 3000 band also announced a new single called Loser Kid 2.0 featuring Simple Plan which will be released in April.

American pop band Hanson, best known for their 1997 hit MMMBop, will join the trio on tour.

In a video posted to Instagram on Thursday morning, Bourne said: "A decade is a long time. Two decades is an even longer time."

The clip showed footage from the band's past music videos including Air Hostess, You Said No, and What I Go to School For.

"We were writing songs that made us laugh and the songs that made us laugh made other people laugh and feel good," Bourne said.

He added that they have that "special feeling - like it's Busted time".

Simpson, who later went on to front rock band Fightstar, said Busted "really broke the mould" when they started making music in 2000.

"It's about celebrating what Busted meant to the fans and it's about us being able to go out and share that experience with them," Simpson said.

Busted reuniting for epic comeback tour and they're returning to Plymouth

The 2000s pop punk band will be playing at the Pavilions in September

  • 09:53, 23 MAR 2023
  • Updated 11:12, 23 MAR 2023

Busted are back for a 20th anniversary tour and it kicks off in Plymouth

Busted has announced that they will be hitting the road to celebrate two decades since they first burst onto the music scene. And Plymouth has been chosen as the scene for its highly-anticipated beginning.

The huge news comes after the quintessential noughties band posted a cryptic video to their Instagram earlier this week of an old, clunky Philips TV being loaded with an antique - a video tape - before their logo flashed up on the screen.

After fans speculated that the band would be reuniting for an anniversary tour, Busted has confirmed the rumours are true by announcing a string of tour dates across the UK later this year. The trio - Charlie Simpson, Matt Willis and James Bourne - will be joined by Hanson, New Hope Club and The Tyne for their 15-date tour, which will take place in September 2023.

Fans don't have long to get tickets either, as tickets for all the shows will go on sale at 9am on March 31 via Ticketek and Ticketmaster.

(left to right) Charlie Simpson, Matt Willis and James Bourne of Busted

Those who want early access to the shows can sign up to pre-sale launches, taking place on Wednesday, March 29 via this link here and if you're an O2 customer you can get early access with O2 Priority too.

Excitingly, Janners will be in with the chance of hearing classic hits such as What I Go To School For and Year 3000, as Busted will be playing in Plymouth to celebrate 20 years together. The band will kick their tour off at Plymouth Pavilions on September 2, although this is one of the dates Hanson will not be joining them for.

Announcing the news with a clip on Twitter, which saw the band members being interviewed about their reunion and time together, Busted wrote: "Busted is back! Tickets for our 20th Anniversary Greatest Hits tour with special guests @hansonmusic go on sale 31st March.

"A decade is a long time, two decades is an even longer time. We can't wait to see you. #Busted20"

As they announced the news, Busted told fans that they can get early access pre-sale by visiting this link . Their tour comes 20 years after they first formed the pop punk band, and four years after they went on hiatus for a second time.

Busted's original run lasted from 2000, with the band gaining recognition in 2002. A few years later, in 2005, they split, breaking the hearts of fans up and down the country.

In 2015, ten years after their first hiatus, Busted reunited, announcing a 16-date tour across the UK in early 2016. The news of the band getting back together for a second time has sparked excitement amongst fans, who are hoping to get tickets to their upcoming tour.

Event Details

Celebrate their 20th anniversary with a major uk arena tour. Joined by special guests hanson and new hope club.

Impossible though it may seem, it’s been twenty years since Busted bounced into the charts with the irrepressible pop-punk energy of their debut single ‘What I Go To School For’. It kickstarted a succession of hits for the trio, including the #1 smashes ‘Crashed The Wedding’, ‘Who’s David’, ‘Thunderbirds Are Go’, ‘You Said No’ and the Top 3 singles ‘Year 3000’, ‘Air Hostess’ and ‘Sleeping With The Light On’. Now Busted celebrate their 20th anniversary by announcing details of a major UK arena tour, alongside a series of new versions of fifteen of their classic hits to be released in the build-up, with some very special guests.

The tour will see the original much-loved trio - James Bourne, Charlie Simpson and Matt Willis - play their hits and fan-favourites to a combined audience of 150,000 people over the course of fifteen shows this September. Supporting Busted will be the iconic Hanson. The pop trio brothers are behind hits including the number 1 smash ‘MMMBop’, ‘Where’s The Love’, ‘I Will Come To You’ and ‘Penny & Me’. The line-up will also feature New Hope Club, who scored a Top 5 hit with their self-titled debut album and have since exceeded 2 billion streams.

The first track to launch the 20th anniversary celebrations will be a new version of Busted’s song ‘Loser Kid’ featuring Simple Plan, which will be released on April 14th.

Recap: Busted add new dates to 2023 UK Tour after first Manchester date sells out in minutes

Follow our blog below as Busted added six UK dates to its tour lineup

  • Updated 12:13, 31 MAR 2023

Thousands of fans are expected to queue to buy Busted 2023 reunion tour tickets

The general sale was the last chance for Busted fans to try and get tickets for the trio's mega 20th-anniversary tour, more than two decades since the band released hits like 'What I Go To School For' and 'Year 3000'.

Just 10 minutes after the Ticketmaster , Ticketek and AXS queues opened the first Manchester date had sold out, leaving hundreds of fans without tickets.

After huge demand, the group added six new UK dates to its lineup, including a second show at Manchester's AO Arena on September 30. A day after its first headline show in the city on September, 29.

READ MORE: Prices confirmed for Busted reunion show including 'affordable' Manchester AO Arena tickets

Despite announcing the tour late last week hundreds of fans bought tickets on Wednesday's first artist and O2 Presale, which saw sites crash due to overwhelming demand.

It's thought that the majority of the tickets sold out during this week's earlier presale events, which included O2 Priority and venue presale. The trio will now play 21 shows across the UK on its whirlwind 2023 tour, performing their greatest hits.

Earlier sales have also given fans an idea of how much to expect to pay, with tickets starting from £42.50 up to £80 depending on the type of package. Some fans have taken to social media to share their frustrations at the rates although compared to other artist sales the prices are a lot lower.

Follow our Busted blog below for the latest sale updates including key details you many need to know about the venue. We'd love to hear how you get on in the comments below or you can email [email protected]

Few tickets left on Ticketek

As the rush slows down we've spotted a few seated tickets available on Ticketek for the September, 30 show.

busted first uk tour

Ticketmaster SOLD OUT

Tickets are now all sold out for both of the Manchester shows.

busted first uk tour

There's not been an official statement just yet but I've spent the last 10 minutes trying all options, and nothing is popping up.

It's looking pretty slim for the other UK venues too, as Nottingham, Leeds, Liverpool and Birmingham have few spots left. If you're still on the hunt for tickets we'd suggest coming back in the next few days (on Ticketmaster) to try and find resale tickets.

There's still Platinum tickets left

WOW and seated tickets for the second date, Spetember 30, seem to be completely sold-out now. The only other way fans could get these is waiting for resale.

In better news there are ' Platinum' tickets left at £113.40 each . In theory these tickets don't give you any perks, they are only introduced as demand gets high and the 'tickets do not include VIP packages'.

We've added the seating plan below so you can see the venue layout.

The five extra dates on top of new Manchester show

If you're struggling to find tickets for the Manchester show try joining the new London, Birmingham, Cardiff, Nottingham or Glasgow shows.

All of the new dates are listed on Ticketmaster.

YOU GUYS ARE CRAZY. We're adding six new dates including London, Birmingham, Nottingham, Cardiff, Manchester and Glasgow and all of them are on sale now via https://t.co/SWq1rvSHch — Busted (@Busted) March 31, 2023

Ticket tip: select one ticket at a time

Obviously this does come with a slight risk but as the second Manchester date starts to sell-out we'd suggest you try this.

We're now not able to get two seated tickets at a time but when we select one at a time it comes up. If you're desperate to see them this may be your only chance.

Although this does mean tickets will be spread apart and you may have to sit on your own. A lot of individual seats around row U are coming up.

WOW tickets sold out for second date

The £80 WOW pit standing tickets have already sold out on the second Manchester date. If you're in the queue don't bother trying to add them as there's none left.

I clicked onto the general seated tickets and four came up for me so there still seems to be a handful of seats left. Unlike the first date there are no platinum tickets for the September 30th show.

Second Manchester date announced

This is what we like to see. Busted has added a second Manchester date to it's lineup on September 30. The queue is already up and running and fans can now buy tickets for the second date, here.

This is what the queue is looking like:

Keep refreshing the Ticketmaster landing page as more dates or tickets may be added!

Fans are disappointed

Fans are taking to Twitter to share their frustrations at not being able to get tickets, it seems majority must have gone during this weeks presale.

One fan said:

Waited for 9am for Busted Manchester tickets just for them to all be sold out within minutes.

James Bourne seems to have commented on the quick sell-out too, although neither the band, Ticketmaster or AO Arena have confirmed they've sold out yet, but there's definitely none left to buy

Guys guys guys — James Bourne (@JamesBourne) March 31, 2023

No tickets left

I've just tried buying tickets again by refreshing the browser and re-joining the queue.

I can confirm there are no more tickets left on Ticketmaster's site for the Manchester date, and it is appearing with the dreaded yellow 'low availability' warning. I'll be back with an update as soon as it is confirmed by the venue.

In the meantime join the other UK dates as there is still Liverpool, Wales and Leeds availability.

Manchester tickets seem to be SOLD OUT

It isn't looking good. I've just reached the front of the queue and there are no Manchester tickets left. I've searched for WOW, seated tickets and even two platinum tickets and it's only popping up with the resale sign.

Is anyone else having this issue?

One of the quickets Ticketmaster queue's we've ever seen

Our reporter Bethan got to the front of the queue in record time, after a failed pre-sale day. Three minutes is definitelythe quickest we've seen.

Only 800 people in Manchester queue

Well, I was not expecting that, ther's only 800 people in front of me in the queue.

It's one of the first time I've joint a ticket sale and not had 5,000 plus infront of me. Hopefully this means there's a good number of tickets left.

No.1 tip: The more devices and browsers the better

The countdown is on, with just over 15 minutes to go.

A tip all fans should follow is using multiple browsers and devices. It works for us nearly every time and often means we're left with a few choices rather than going for the last resort ticket type.

You can log onto whichever ticket service you are using above and wait for the queue to open on more than one device; laptop, phone, tablet etc.

Once the queue opens you can keep your options open as to whatever device is further ahead. The same can apply to dates, if you can be flaxibile it may pay-off joining the nearby Liverpool or Leeds dates too.

Busted add new dates to their 2023 UK reunion tour as tickets go on sale

busted first uk tour

Pop-punk band Busted have added six new dates to their upcoming UK tour due to huge demand, including an extra date in London .

The band have also added extra dates in Birmingham , Nottingham , Cardiff , Manchester , and Glasgow, after the original dates of their 15-date reunion tour sold out on Friday, March 31.

The trio, whose hits include Year 3000, Crashed The Wedding, and What I Go To School For, originally formed in 2003 before splitting in 2005. They later reformed for an arena tour in the UK and Ireland in 2016.

Now they’re releasing a new album to mark their 20th anniversary.

Members Charlie Simpson , Matt Willis , and James Bourne had appeared to be hinting earlier in March that something was afoot with a series of cryptic posts on social media.

They finally put fans out of their misery when their official Twitter account confirmed that they would be re-teaming to mark two decades since they first formed.

“Busted is back!” they wrote on the micro-blogging site.

Adding: “A decade is a long time, two decades is an even longer time. We can’t wait to see you,” followed by the hashtag “Busted 20”.

Busted’s 20th Anniversary Greatest Hits Tour will kick off on September 2 in Plymouth and take in a date at the London O2 Arena on September 10.

The supporting acts will be Hanson and New Hope Club.

Busted will also release an album reimagining some of their biggest hits, which will see them team up with the likes of McFly and All Time Low.

The first offering is a new version of Loser Kid, which featured on Busted’s debut album. The track will receive its first radio play on April 14 and will feature pop-rock stars Simple Plan.

Couple’s very unsophisticated way of trying to win lottery

author image

Dakota Jones and Kira Enders have been charged with presenting a forged state lottery ticket, forging a lottery ticket to defraud and grand theft of $100,000 or more

A couple who came up with a very rudimentary way to try and defraud a lottery may be regretting it.

Dakota Jones and Kira Enders are alleged to have taken two scratchcards, ripped them and then taped them back together to make it look like they’d won $1 million.

The couple, from DeFuniak Springs, Florida, are said to have forged the ticket to get a big prize from the 500X The Cash Lottery.

A police report said: ‘Each of those tickets were ripped horizontally and then carefully pieced together to become one fraudulently altered ticket using the top half of one of the actual tickets and the bottom half of the other.

‘That fraudulently altered ticket now visually shows that it is a $1million prize winner.’

Enders is accused of driving to the Florida Lottery’s office in Pensacola on March 1 and submitting an official claim form for a $1million payment.

Six days later, Enders apparently called the lottery to check on the status of their claim and spoke to Special Agent Richard Pisanti, according to the Pensacola News Journal .

Pisanti told Enders to meet him days later to go over paperwork.

A couple are accused of trying to forge a winning 500X The Cash scratch off ticket

When Jones and Enders met with Pisanti on March 11, they were detained immediately and separated pending an investigation.

In her interview, Enders claimed that she scratched the ticket herself and thought it was worth $1million. She added that it would not scan at three stores so she took it to the lottery organization itself.

‘Enders stated that the ticket was in her car and it must have fallen out because when she found it the next day it had gotten rained on,’ stated the sheriff’s office’s report.

‘Enders stated that she tried to scratch the ticket before it was dry and it started falling apart so she taped it so it wouldn’t get more ruined than it already was.’

When Pisanti showed Enders that the words at the back of the combined tickets did not match, she replied, ‘What, they don’t go together?’

Enders also denied taping them together.

Meanwhile, Jones had a different story. He said he and Enders were walking in DeFuniak Springs when they saw half of a lottery ticket and wondered if it was a winning one. He claimed they saw the other half about 50 yards away and that they blow dried them because they were wet.

‘Jones stated that once scratched, the ticket said a million dollars and he was like, “No freaking way,”‘ stated the report.

He added that he did not purchase the ticket and ‘doesn’t know what Enders told us but that’s the truth’.

When Pisanti brought up that numbers on each ticket piece did not match, Jones seemed to know about it.

‘I began to state, “So she obviously knew…” and Jones stated, “Yeah, she knew, man,”‘ stated the report.

But then Jones seemed to change his story and say that they believed the ticket was real.

The couple were arrested and charged with forging a lottery ticket with the intention of defrauding, presenting a forged lottery ticket, and grand theft of $100,000 or more. The forgery counts carry at least five years in prison upon conviction, but the grand theft is up to 30 years in state prison, meaning they could spend up to 40 years behind bars if convicted.

Jones is slated to be arraigned on May 10, and Enders’ court date was not immediately set.
