There are no grinding gears as O'Briain cruises from one subject to the next. The callbacks aren't just cheap tricks; they thread the show together...The springs and cogs are expertly wound; everything detonates precisely when it's supposed to.
Why See Dara O'Briain?
Comedy & Stand-up
Don't Miss Irish Comedian Dara O'Briain
After a successful mammoth stint touring over two years across 20 countries, Dara O Briain deserved a break, but now he's back with a brand new show 'So, Where Were We?'. He's one of Britain's most recognizable faces thanks to appearances on Mock The Week, Robot Wars and Star Gazing Live, he returns to his live comedy roots, bringing a whirlwind of erudite humor and fast-talking wit along for the ride.
Don't worry, the 'So, Where Were We' tour will hardly mention any of the events which consumed the last year and a half because quite frankly we're all bored of hearing about it. Instead, you'll be treated with his hilarious one-liners and the usual mix of stories.
Jumping from one stream of consciousness to another like lightning, O'Briain may at first seem like the chucklesome ravings of a mad man, but once a pattern emerges the chaotic energy becomes an intricately woven tapestry of puns, gags, and hilarious anecdotes. Whether ranting about middle-age man problems or regaling the crowd about the time he wound up in a burlesque bar in Perth with a Glaswegian dancer and a biker gang, this funnyman is a knows a thing or two about crafting an engaging and satisfying routine.

Dara o briain announces new tour.
Dara O Briain is back on tour with a brand new live stand-up show. ‘ So… Where Were We? ’ will see Dara travel across the UK in 2022, kicking off in March with dates right through until December, including London’s Eventim Apollo on Saturday 15 th October.
At the end of his highly successful last tour ‘ Voice Of Reason’ , Dara had performed the show 180 times over 2 years and across 20 countries, from Auckland to Reykjavik, from Moscow to New York; and by March 2020 he was ready for a break!
He would now like to apologise for saying that and will never wish for anything like that again.
Yes, he's back on tour, and he will never stop again, because that's clearly what caused all this trouble, oh, and he ate a bat. Instead, in his new show 'So…Where Were We?’ , Dara will hardly mention the last year and a half, because, Jesus, who wants to hear about that, but will instead fire out the usual mix of stories, one-liners, audience messing, and tripping over his words because he is talking too quickly, because he's so giddy to be back in front of a crowd.
Tickets for ‘ So…Where Were We?’ go on general sale from Friday 29 th October at the link below with a pre-sale from Wednesday October 27 . More dates will be added at a later date.
Dara has made a name for himself as one of the most recognisable faces on British TV, as host of BBC Two’s long running hit panel show ‘ Mock The Week’ , ‘Stargazing Live’ , ‘ Robot Wars’ , Dave’s ‘Go8Bit’ and Comedy Central’s re-boot of the classic quiz show ‘ Blockbusters ’.
It has recently been announced that Dara will host Channel 4’s newest daytime quiz, ‘One & Six Zeros’ , where contestants will compete to win a grand prize of £1,000,000.
Dara has previously released five classic stand-up DVDs with Universal Pictures (UK); ‘Crowd Tickler’ (2015), 'Craic Dealer' (2012), ‘ This Is The Show’ (2010), ‘ Dara Ó Briain Talks Funny Live In London’ (2008) and ‘ Dara Ó Briain Live at the Theatre Royal’ (2006) – and 2018’s Voice of Reason filmed exclusively for the BBC.
Dara has also put pen to paper with the release of three best selling non-fiction children’s books all released by Scholastic UK: Beyond The Sky: You and the Universe’ (2017), ‘ Secret Science: The Amazing World Beyond Your Eyes’ (2018), and most recently in October 2020 , ‘Is There Anybody Out There?’

Dara Ó Briain has thanked a Scouser as he shared his kind gesture.
The Irish comedian regularly tours across the world with his stand up shows and is renowned for his role as presenter of programmes such as Mock the Week. Away from the stage, the 52-year-old is a passionate Arsenal fan and was disappointed at the weekend as the Gunners' title chase suffered an unexpected blow when they were defeated 2-0 by Aston Villa at the Emirates.
Arsenal are in a three horse title race this season, along with Manchester City and Liverpool. The Reds' hopes of winning the league were also dashed earlier that afternoon when they were beaten 1-0 by Crystal Palace at Anfield .

Dara took to social media platform X after the dramatic day of Premier League action and thanked a man from Liverpool for his show of solidary after a tough day for both teams.
He said: Just a quick thank you to the nice Scouser who paid for my bag of chips after the Arsenal match yesterday because he said we were both in pain, so he wanted to do a nice thing. Very kind of him."
People took to the comments to praise the Liverpudlian's kind gesture. Lyndsey said: "Love the kindness and the humour."
@sinclai11 added: "All Scousers are nice." Tyrone posted: "Kindness goes a long way."
Daniel posted: "It's heartwarming to see such acts of kindness and solidarity among fans, especially after a tough match."
