Disney Cruise 2024: Sail Dates, Itineraries, and Ports

UPDATED Sept 5, 2023: This article has been updated to add 2024 cruises on the Disney Treasure cruise ship, which is scheduled to begin sailing in late December 2024.

If you’re dreaming of a Disney Cruise 2024, you’ll need to know where the ships are and where they’re going. Although there are plenty of Disney Cruises in 2024, not every itinerary is offered at every port during every month of the year. And once you throw school vacations and time off work into the mix — not to mention the complexities of multiple cruise ships and countless itineraries — it can be tricky to figure out just which cruise to select.

With that in mind, we offer this handy reference guide. We’ll start with a brief glance at where all of the Disney Cruise Ships will be located throughout the year. Then, we’ll go in-depth for each month so you can see exactly which sail dates are being offered for each itinerary.

Where Will the Disney Cruise Line Ships Be In 2024?

Here’s a quick overview at what’s planned so far. To see specific cruise itineraries and sail dates, look at the monthly entries further down this page.

Disney Dream

The Disney Dream cruise ship spends the first half of 2024 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida , continuing the string of Caribbean Cruises it had begun offering from there in November 2023.

In May, the ship heads out on a Transatlantic voyage that positions it in Europe for the summer travel season.

The Dream will offer a series of European itineraries that sail out of Barcelona, Spain and Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy from early May through late July — and from Southampton, England from late July through mid-September.

Disney Dream sailings between mid-September and mid-October are not yet released , but it’s likely the ship will remain in Europe during that timeframe.

Following a Transatlantic voyage in late-October, the ship returns to Fort Lauderdale in November and offers Bahamian and Caribbean cruises for the remainder of the year.

Disney Fantasy

The Disney Fantasy will be based out of Port Canaveral, Florida throughout 2024.

From early 2024 through the end of September, the Fantasy primarily offers Caribbean cruises. From October onward, the ship adds in a number of Bahamas sailings including Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.

Disney Magic

The Disney Magic cruise ship rings in the new year in Galveston, Texas , continuing the series of Caribbean cruises it had begun a few weeks earlier.

In February, it briefly relocates to New Orleans, Louisiana for a month of Caribbean cruises out of that port before returning to Galveston in March.

The Caribbean cruises continue from Galveston through mid-April, when the ship relocates to San Juan, Puerto Rico .

The San Juan Caribbean cruises run through mid-May, when the ship relocates for an extended assignment to Port Everglades (Fort Lauderdale), Florida .

In Fort Lauderdale, the ship will mainly sail on Bahamian itineraries (featuring Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, Disney’s newest private port), with an occasional Caribbean cruise in the mix.

The Disney Magic briefly returns to San Juan for part of November, then returns to Galveston for the remainder of the year.

Disney Treasure

The brand new Disney Treasure cruise ship just barely squeaks into 2024’s sailing schedule; the ship’s 7-night Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral, Florida start in late December.

Disney Wish

The Disney Wish has the simplest of all sailing schedules.

The ship will be based in Port Canaveral , Florida throughout all of 2024, sailing on 3- and 4-Night Bahamian Cruises.

Disney Wonder

The Disney Wonder cruise ship starts 2024 in the southern hemisphere, continuing the inaugural season of Disney’s Australia and New Zealand cruises which began in October 2023. These cruises sail out of Sydney, Australia and Melbourne, Australia in January and early February.

Starting in mid-February, the ship goes on a series of one-way cruises that take it to Honolulu, Hawaii , followed by Vancouver, Canada, and finally to San Diego, California .

Once the ship arrives in San Diego in mid-March, it begins a string of Baja cruises that last through early May.

The ship then returns to Vancouver to begin the 2024 Alaska Cruise season, which lasts through late September.

From there, a series of one-way cruises take the ship back to Honolulu and then to Brisbane, Australia to start another series of Australia and New Zealand cruises for the remainder of the year and into early 2025 (sailing out of Brisbane, Auckland, Sydney, and Melbourne ).

One of the easiest ways to cut through the confusion is to work alongside an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner . Put simply, they’re Disney Cruise experts who offer free help planning your trip .

In our view, there’s no better choice than our official travel partner, The Vacationeer . Why ? Here are a few reasons:

  • No Extra Fees: It’s completely free to use their planning services and your cruise won’t cost a penny more than if you’d booked it yourself (it might even cost less!)
  • One Dedicated Agent: No giant call centers, no hours wasted waiting on hold, no getting transferred a dozen times and explaining your situation over and over to new people each time
  • The Best Prices: Your Vacationeer knows all the Disney Cruise discounts and deals so they know how to save money on your cruise . They’ll even watch for new discounts to be announced after you’ve booked! And most importantly, they’ll respect your budget.
  • Free Spending Money: Yes, really. Book with The Vacationeer and you’ll get an Onboard Credit of up to $1,000 that can be used towards onboard purchases that aren’t already included in your cruise fare — things like excursions, alcohol, souvenirs, gratuities, and specialty dining.

With all those benefits, why wouldn’t you count on them to book your trip and make your Disney Cruise dreams come true?

When Does Disney Release Its 2024 Cruises?

Disney Cruises are typically released in three phases throughout the year.

The first phase of sail dates, covering travel from the beginning of the year through Spring 2024, was announced in December 2022.

The second phase of sail dates, covering travel for Summer 2024 and early Fall 2024, was announced in March 2023.

The third phase of sail dates, covering the final months of 2024, was announced in June 2023. Some saildates for the Disney Dream (mid-September through mid-October) were still missing during this announcement, and might possibly indicate a “dry dock” period in which there are no cruises and the ship is essentially “closed for refurbishment.”

There was a special fourth announcement of 2024 sail dates due to the arrival of the new Disney Treasure cruise ship. The ship only has two 2024 sail dates, both in late December; those were announced to the public in September 2023.

When Do Cruises to Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point Begin?

Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point on Eleuthera, Bahamas, is Disney’s newest private destination — and it’s certainly been highly anticipated.

Unlike Disney Castaway Cay (Disney’s private island), Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is a private port rather than a private island . Construction has been underway for a few years, and the island is ready to welcome its first Disney Cruise Line guests.

The first cruise scheduled to visit Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is a special preview sailing on the Disney Magic. It departs from Fort Lauderdale on June 6, 2024 .

After that, Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is a frequent stop on Bahamas Cruises from Fort Lauderdale all summer long.

There’s also a special “Lighthouse Point Inaugural Cruise” from Port Canaveral on the Disney Fantasy June 8. 2024 — one of the few chances in Summer 2024 to reach Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point from Port Canaveral rather than Fort Lauderdale. Once fall 2024 rolls around, the port can be regularly reached through sailings from either Fort Lauderdale or Port Canaveral.

Want to secure your spot on the inaugural season of cruises to Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point?

Now let’s take a look at the Disney Cruises setting sail each month of 2024. Below, we’ve listed the first day of each cruise departure currently scheduled to occur in 2024. Dates which show “none” indicate days on which no cruises begin their voyages.

Note that we’ve omitted cruises that aren’t open to the general public, such as short no-passenger relocation voyages or privately-chartered sailings such as the Disney Vacation Club Member Cruise.

disney cruise australia 2024 dates

No, there aren’t any 2024 Disney Cruises from New York . They’ve sometimes skipped New York for a few years in a row, so we don’t know how long it’ll be until it’s back on the schedule. They haven’t released a full 2025 schedule yet, so we don’t yet know if anything will show up for the later months of 2025. Hope that helps!

Interested in booking a cruise for a date or itinerary that hasn’t been announced yet? You can submit a booking request for a Disney cruise, even before Disney Cruise Line releases the schedule. Save yourself some stress and fill out the Small World Vacations Wait List form in advance and they’ll book your preferred cruise the first day you are eligible, at no cost to you! Plus, you can get up to $1000 in FREE onboard credit  courtesy of Small World Vacations! (All staterooms and cruises are subject to availability at the time of booking.)

Disney Cruise Line announces their cruise dates and itineraries for only a few months at a time: January through April, then May through September and finally, September through December. Once the new itineraries come out, booking begins just a day or two later, first to Castaway Club members (people who’ve been on a previous Disney cruise) and then to the general public.

The people who book earliest almost always get the lowest possible price . Sometimes there will be last-minute deals via the restricted guarantee fares or Florida Resident fares , but only a small percentage of cruises ever have those fares, and those fares aren’t always cheaper than opening day fares. In addition, early bookers get first dibs on staterooms, making it the best way to land one of the hardest-to-get staterooms like the Secret Porthole and Secret Verandah rooms. Lots of people know about these advantages, so on the days the new itineraries become available for booking, both the phone lines and website get slammed.

There’s an easy way to avoid the scramble to book on the first day the bookings open:  submit a request to Small World Vacations now. You just need basic information like where you want to go (Caribbean, Alaska, Norway, Europe, etc.), the date range you want, the kind of stateroom you want (inside, outside, verandah) and the names and ages of the people going. Let them know if you are a Castaway Club Member by including your Member Number and Level (Platinum, Gold or Silver). You can add other preferences or priorities as needed – early dining, lower deck, upper deck, not over a nightclub – whatever is important to you.  Their agents will review your request, contact you to confirm they understand your priorities, and then you can relax and let your personal agent book your cruise when the time comes. Your agent will provide their email and direct phone number, so you can discuss your options and preferences.

On the day the itineraries become available for your Castaway Club level, your agent will be up bright and early while you sleep in (or go about your usual day). If Disney releases a cruise that fits your criteria, your agent will typically go ahead and put a hold in place, thus reserving your stateroom(s), then email you with your cruise details and deposit information. You’ll be able to have your choice of room type and location and will lock in the opening day price. If later on you decide to change rooms on the same sailing, Disney will give you the opening day price on the new room , even if the price has gone up in the intervening days or months.

Even if you aren’t 100% sure whether you’re going to be able to go, there’s no real risk in getting a cruise booked early . Disney Cruise Line deposits for any stateroom types other than Concierge are fully refundable up to the Payment In Full date, which is 120-75 days before sailing, depending on the specific cruise and time of year. You have lots of time to figure out whether that cruise will work for you. If it doesn’t, you can get the deposit back or just transfer it to a different sailing date that works better.

The agents who handle cruise bookings for Small World Vacations have collectively sailed on more than 400 Disney cruises, and know a truly astonishing amount about all four ships, the various Disney ports of call, shore excursions and all the common itineraries (and many uncommon ones). Many of them are Platinum members of Disney’s Castaway Club, meaning that they have personally been on 10 or more Disney cruises! They’re happy to share their firsthand experience with the kids’ clubs, dining, character meets, entertainment, transportation, etc. In our experience, the travel agents at Small World Vacations are great at finding the best fares. They know all the tricks that will save you money, and they know the Disney Cruise Line inside and out. We’re confident that once you work with a really great travel agent, you’ll never want to book a cruise any other way. Read more about why we recommend using Small World Vacations to book your cruise!

  • If you are interested in booking a cruise that hasn’t been announced yet , fill out the Small World Vacations Wait List form and get on their Early Booking List!
  • Small World Vacations offers onboard credit of $50-$1000 per booking, good toward most onboard activities and extras such as spa treatments, shore excursions or even your bar tab. Small World Vacations also gives you full service, including a personal travel agent you can contact by email or direct phone number. Best of all, it costs you nothing to use them! There has not been a special fireworks show in the past, but sometimes on sailings in the Caribbean or Bahamas they move pirate night to July 4th so they will have fireworks on Independence Day. (There is no pirate night or fireworks on sailings outside the Caribbean and Bahamas.)

During this period there will be special Halloween events onboard, including Halloween-themed parties, storytellings, movies and elaborate décor, including The Pumpkin Tree, which magically transforms throughout the cruise. You will also find characters dressed in Halloween costumes, as well as a costume party for families and, just for adults, a costume contest and a Villainous Takeover on the dance floor in the nighttime entertainment district.

In the past there has not been any special menu for Halloween night itself, over and above what they do on all the Halloween themed cruises during the whole period, but there will be some special Halloween-themed treats.

Halloween on the High Seas takes place on the following sail dates:

  • Disney Dream : (Not yet announced)
  • Disney Fantasy : September 14 – October 26
  • Disney Magic : September 9 – October 31
  • Disney Wish: September 13 – October 28
  • Disney Wonder :  (Not yet announced)

In the past there has been a special menu on Thanksgiving Day, and pictures with Pilgrim Mickey and Minnie. The Christmas decorations will be fully up by Thanksgiving, and there will be a full set of holiday activities and events.

The following sailings include Thanksgiving Day (November 28, 2024).

  • Disney Dream : 5-Night Bahamian on November 27
  • Disney Fantasy : 7-Night Eastern Caribbean on November 23
  • Disney Magic : 6-Night Western Caribbean on November 25
  • Disney Wish: 4-Night Bahamian on November 25
  • Disney Wonder : 5-Night Australian on November 24 ( note: since New Zealand & Australia don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, we don’t know if there will be a Thanksgiving Menu. )

Typically, Christmas decorations will be up from early November through the final New Year’s sailing, and there will be special holiday events during that whole period, including meet and greets with Santa Claus and with Disney characters in special Christmas outfits. Some of the more elaborate Christmas decorations, including a huge, real gingerbread house or other gingerbread decoration, will not be up until later in November.

Castaway Cay, Disney’s private island, will be transformed with “snow” flurries, a Christmas tree and more. Be on the lookout for Mr. and Mrs. Snowman, dressed in their island attire. Plus, the island’s tram is decorated to resemble a reindeer, complete with antlers and a tail.

Very Merrytime Christmas-themed cruises will be offered on sailings departing between the following dates:

  • Disney Dream: November 14 – December 21
  • Disney Fantasy: November 10 – December 22
  • Disney Magic: November 21 – December 23
  • Disney Wish: November 4 – December 23
  • Disney Wonder:   (Not yet announced)

There are unique special events and a special menu on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

The following sailings include Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (December 24-25, 2024).

  • Disney Dream : 5-Night Western Caribbean on December 21
  • Disney Fantasy : 4-Night Bahamian on December 22
  • Disney Magic : 6-Night Western Caribbean on December 23
  • Disney Treasure : 7-Night Eastern Caribbean on December 21
  • Disney Wish:  4-Night Bahamian on December 23
  • Disney Wonder : 4-Night Australian on December 24

There is a special party with countdown and balloon drop on New Year’s Eve.

The following sailings include New Year’s Eve (December 31, 2024).

  • Disney Dream : 5-Night Bahamian on December 30
  • Disney Fantasy : 7-Night Eastern Caribbean on December 29
  • Disney Magic : 4-Night Western Caribbean on December 29
  • Disney Treasure : 7-Night Western Caribbean on December 28
  • Disney Wish:  4-Night Bahamian on December 30
  • Disney Wonder : 6-Night Australian on December 28
  • If you are interested in booking a holiday Disney cruise , we recommend either Small World Vacations or Undercover Tourist . We have worked with both companies for over 15 years and can recommend them wholeheartedly. It’s really a question of whether you prefer full-service booking or self booking. These staterooms often sell out fast, so if you see one you like, snag it quickly.

Pixar Day at Sea

Marvel day at sea, star wars day at sea.

Pixar Day at Sea includes a Pixar film festival; photo opportunities with Pixar characters; a character breakfast with Woody, Jesse and Bullseye; a theatrical performance based on Coco ; a Pixar-themed dinner; a dance party with Pixar characters; and a nighttime spectacular featuring the Incredibles.

Pixar Day at Sea will take place on select Disney Fantasy 7-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises from Port Canaveral in early 2024. The Eastern Caribbean cruises are January 6, 20; February 3, 17 and March 2. The Western Caribbean cruises are January 13, 27; February 10 and 24.

Marvel Day at Sea is a special all-day celebration of the Marvel Universe. Special features include multiple Marvel character meet-and-greets, Marvel-themed activities for families, Marvel movie screenings, a costume party, special merchandise and food, and an exclusive Marvel deck party. There is also an adults-only dance party with Star-Lord and Gamora.

Marvel Day at Sea will take place on select Disney Dream 5-night Western Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale on January 7, 12, 21, 26; February 4, 9, 18, 23; March 3 and 8.

Star Wars Day at Sea cruises generally feature a full day of Star Wars celebrations, including a deck party, meet-and-greets with favorite characters, Star Wars -themed youth activities, at-sea screenings of Star Wars films, unique food and beverage offerings, and special merchandise. The night before Star Wars Day at Sea, Darth Vader and Stormtroopers march into the ship’s atrium for an Imperial takeover.

Guests are encouraged to bring their costumes and participate in the costume celebration held in the ship’s atrium. Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique offers special makeovers on Star Wars Day at Sea. Kids ages 3-12 can transform into Rey, Kylo Ren, Leia and Poe. Adults and teens, can get a Rey makeover that includes a stylish dress, makeup and hair style or choose from one of four Star Wars-themed T-shirt options. All come with a personalized name tag, lanyard with medallion and magnet set.

No Star Wars Day at Sea dates have been announced for 2024. Star Wars Day at Sea appears to have been replaced with Pixar Day at Sea, but DCL has not made an official announcement one way or the other.

  • If you are interested in booking a themed Disney cruise , we recommend either Small World Vacations or Undercover Tourist . We have worked with both companies for over 15 years and can recommend them wholeheartedly. It’s really a question of whether you prefer full-service booking or self booking. These staterooms often sell out fast, so if you see one you like, snag it quickly.

Double Dip Cruises

A “Double Dip” sailing is one that visits Castaway Cay or Lighthouse Point twice on the same cruise, or goes to both of them on the same cruise. Many people (including us) feel the day at one of Disney’s private beaches is the highlight of a Bahamian or Caribbean cruise, and this gives you a double dose! Both days follow the typical Castaway Cay & Lighthouse Point schedule: off the ship at 8:30 am (depending on sea conditions), and all aboard at 4:45 pm. The same excursions and activities will be available both days, though if you want to do the same activity or book a cabana for both days, you’ll need to book each day separately. If you are going to Castaway Cay twice, you can run the Castaway Cay 5K twice!

In the rare event that the ship visits Castaway Cay or Lighthouse Point two days in a row, the ship will not stay docked overnight. It will leave the island at the usual time on the first day and come back the next morning.

Double Dip cruises scheduled so far for 2024:

  • Disney Dream : March 17
  • Disney Magic : July 1, July 15, July 29, August 12
  • Disney Fantasy : Jun 8 (technically a triple-dip!), July 20, July 25

Repositioning is when a cruise starts in one port and finishes in another. These cruises can be a good deal, as they usually are cheaper per night than conventional round-trip cruises. They also tend to go to more unusual locations. The longest repositioning cruises are the Panama Canal and Transatlantic cruises, which are almost always the cheapest cruises (per night) of the whole year.

Unique cruises have an itinerary that is different from other cruise itineraries that particular ship is sailing around that time. They either visit an unusual location or locations or visit a unique combination of common locations. Repositioning cruises are all unique as well.

  • If you are interested in booking a specialty Disney cruise , we recommend either Small World Vacations or Undercover Tourist . We have worked with both companies for over 15 years and can recommend them wholeheartedly. It’s really a question of whether you prefer full-service booking or self booking. These staterooms often sell out fast, so if you see one you like, snag it quickly.

2024 Adventures by Disney Cruise Packages have not yet been announced.

The Adventures by Disney Cruise Packages include 2 Adventures by Disney guides available onboard and in port; special VIP privileges; private onboard receptions; unique onshore activities; early debarkation at each port; all meals, snacks and water while in port; a photo CD with all ship photographer pictures, all Adventures by Disney guide photos and an Adventures by Disney slideshow.

  • If you are interested in booking an Adventures by Disney Cruise Package , we recommend filling out a quote form with Small World Vacations . They give you full service, including a personal travel agent you can contact by email or direct phone number and we recommend them wholeheartedly ! Best of all, it costs you nothing to use them, PLUS they give you FREE onboard credit for any Disney Cruise Line booking of over $1000 total fare, good toward most onboard activities and extras such as spa treatments, shore excursions or even your bar tab.

DVC member cruises are only open to Disney Vacation Club members who have purchased at least some of their vacation points directly from Disney (rather than from another member via resale). Members can use their vacation points to book the cruise or can pay cash rates. Typically DVC cruises are significantly more expensive than similar cruises for the general public, but guests will be given a wide variety of DVC special gifts and will get to experience some exclusive member events including talks by special guests including artists, imagineers and/or actors from classic Disney movies.

Whether the DVC member cruise is worth booking is a personal judgment call. The extra events are difficult or impossible to experience any other way. The various DVC gifts are usually a mix of the usual kinds of tote bags, pens, and so forth you can get by attending a DVC meeting or buying a new DVC contract, plus at least a few special and unique items. Some people love the DVC member cruises and try to go on each one. Others go once and feel it’s not worth the extra money.

Disney Cruise Line has announced two Disney Vacation Club (DVC) member cruises for 2024:

  • May 18: 7-night Mediterranean cruise from Barcelona on Disney Dream
  • June 14: 5-night “triple dip” Bahamian cruise with two visits to Lighthouse Point and one visit to Castaway Cay on Disney Magic

Adventure by Disney Pre- and Post-Cruise Escape Packages take place before and after select Disney Cruise Line sailings. These 2- to 3-night Escapes include 2 Adventure by Disney guides; hotel accommodations; multiple, daily excursions; special VIP privileges; all transportation during the trip and a photo CD with all the Adventure by Disney guide photos.

  • If you are interested in booking an Adventures by Disney Pre- or Post-Cruise Escape Package , we recommend filling out a quote form with Small World Vacations . They give you full service, including a personal travel agent you can contact by email or direct phone number and we recommend them wholeheartedly ! Best of all, it costs you nothing to use them, PLUS you could save up to $1,000!  Read more about the Small World Vacations savings offer here .

No drydock plans have been officially announced for 2024 yet.

Disney Cruise Line brings magical sailings to Australia and New Zealand for the first time

NEWS DISNEY ANZ

Disney cruise line brings magical sailings to australia and new zealand for the first time.

Brad Hatch, Director of Corporate Communcations

‘Disney Magic at Sea’ sailings in Australia and New Zealand for a limited time from October 2023 through February 2024.

For the first time, Disney Cruise Line is coming to the shores of Australia and New Zealand to offer magical vacations created especially for local residents during a limited season from late 2023.

The ‘Disney Magic at Sea’ sailings will bring all of the magic of Disney to one amazing holiday experience with favourite characters from Disney, Marvel, Pixar and Star Wars on board, plus imaginative dining and spectacular entertainment – all in one cruise.

The special sailings aboard the Disney Wonder range from two to six nights and will depart from four home ports: Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, Australia, as well as Auckland, New Zealand.

“ We are so excited to bring the magic of a Disney cruise vacation close to home for guests in Australia and New Zealand, ” said Josh D’Amaro, Chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. “ On these limited-time sailings, the ship is the destination, and our amazing Disney Cruise Line crew can’t wait to welcome guests on board as they are immersed in their favourite stories from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars. ”

The inaugural sailing of this limited season departs October 28, 2023 from Sydney. Bookings open to the general public from Thursday September 29, 2022 at 8am AEST / 11am NZDT.

While on board, Disney Cruise Line guests will be immersed in the magic of Disney with unforgettable character encounters with favourite Disney friends including Captain Mickey Mouse, Captain Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Pluto, and spectacular entertainment including original Broadway-quality shows.

Guests will also enjoy incredible dining experiences with imaginative restaurants including Tiana’s Place, where guests can meet Princess Tiana herself and enjoy a taste of New Orleans cooking, and Animator’s Palate, an interactive dining experience that celebrates Disney animation.

Children will have their own “Frozen” adventures in Disney’s Oceaneer Club, along with a multi-level replica of Andy’s Room from “Toy Story” and a place to summon their inner super hero at the Marvel Super Hero Academy. Adults even have their own exclusive spaces to rest and relax, including the adults-only Quiet Cove pool, sophisticated dining at Palo and the rejuvenating Senses Spa & Salon.

All sailings will include health and safety measures considering up-to-date guidance from public health authorities in Australia and New Zealand and medical experts. Disney Cruise Line’s current health and safety protocols are outlined on disneycruise.com.

Disney Cruise Line Announces Early 2024 Itineraries (December ’23 – May 2024)

Disney Cruise Line released their Early 2024 itineraries today for the fleet including an extension of Disney Wonder dates following the previously announced 2024 Australian and New Zealand sailings. The Disney fleet will be departing from a variety of popular ports including Port Canaveral, Fort Lauderdale, Galveston, New Orleans, Honolulu, and San Diego.

Disney Cruise Line is loading the early 2024 sailings so this remains a work in progress and will be updated multiple times today.

Today’s release extends the available sail dates through the early months of 2024.

DCL Early 2024 Booking Dates

While Early 2024 dates were announced today, general booking will not open until Thursday December 15th . The tiered booking period will begin December 12th for Castaway Club Members and some others. Please note, the new Pearl Castaway Club tier was announced, but Disney has yet to release additional details which they said will be revealed in 2023. As a result, the tier is not included as part of the tiered bookings, but I suspect it will be ready in time for the release of the Disney Treasure inaugural sailings.

  • Monday December 12th – Platinum Members, Golden Oak Club Members and Club 33 Members
  • Tuesday December 13th – Gold Castaway Club members
  • Wednesday December 14th – Silver Members, Disney Vacation Club Members and Adventures by Disney Insiders
  • Thursday December 15th, general public/first time cruisers will be able to book.

If you’re an existing Castaway Club member, simply log in to your account now to verify your Castaway Club status, so you’ll be all set to book on your designated date. Alternatively, you can call (800) 388-4513 starting at 8:00 AM Eastern Time or contact your travel agent.

Castaway Club members can book online beginning Monday! The only caveat is that this is for new bookings only as the website is still not set up to move a placeholder to a new booking. Those types of bookings will still require a phone call.

The following bears repeating, please do NOT try calling today to book; this will just clog up the phone lines and bog down the reservation cast members. There may be people attempting to book an available cruise vacation today.

For those looking for Summer 2024 dates, we anticipate the next release to occur sometime in the months of February and April based on the historical itinerary release cycle . However, considering the pattern was not followed for this release, your guess is as good as mine until release cycles normalize.

Below you will find a breakout by ship, but this is a WORK IN PROGRESS AND INCOMPLETE UNTIL THIS MESSAGE IS UPDATED Disney Cruise Line is still loading the sailings. I will be updating the website throughout the day as I load the sailings and upload the new itinerary maps. The best way to be alerted to updates is by following me on Twitter  @TheDCLblog  – I will tweet updates as I add the sailings to the website and update this article . At the very end, you will find Disney Cruise Line’s Itinerary Announcement press release .

Please note, the port order may be different and will be adjusted once the full detailed itineraries are available to view on Disney Cruise Line’s website. There are a number of conflicts at Castaway Cay that will be resolved once the actual itineraries for each sailing are revealed. Missing itinerary maps will also be added next week once the itineraries are verified .

A summary of Early 2024 opening day prices will be added and a link will appear HERE once published.

Is it the Spring or the Fall for Summer 2024 announcements: “For those looking for Summer 2024 dates, we anticipate the next release to occur sometime in the fall sometime in the months of February and April …”

' src=

Same stuff, different year, kind of disappointing. You would think with all the ships they now have and all the destinations in the world they could come up with something new and different otherwise it’s been there done that (not that any Disney cruise isn’t enjoyable but get tired of going to the same places over and over).

' src=

Agree 100% having done multiple Panama Canal and Transatlantic crossing cruises!

' src=

Thank you Scott! Been waiting for these and saw no mention on the DCL website this morning…

' src=

So disappointed that they have replaced Cabo with Catalina and Ensenada on all the 4 night cruises from San Diego. Catalina and Ensenada are not appealing ports and that itinerary only has one at sea day vs 2 at sea days on the previous 4 night Cabo itinerary. Also surprised to see there are no 5 night Baja cruises on the new release. I guess I’ll have to book the 7 night. : )

' src=

Thank you. I’m disappointed. I thought with more ships they would do a few more longer itineraries. And no 7 day at all from New Orleans. I’ll still book something of course.

' src=

Just noticed on DCL’s website there is a sailing out of NOLA on 2/9/2024 for 7 days on the Magic.

' src=

With DCL Castaway basing there cruise status on the number of cruises and not the number of nights on a ship, (2nights = 3, = 4 = 5 = 14 etc) We are just going to only do short back to back cruises – no long cruises until we reach the new “Pearl” status 🙂

' src=

No cruises out of Miami?

' src=

We see departures from Fort Lauderdale. Any news or photos on construction progress at the new terminal?

' src=

when might i see the 2024 Mediteranean cruises?

' src=

Over on the itinerary announcement history page, you will see a summary of when seasonal releases have occurred along with an estimate on when the next release could happen. For Summer 2024, it is estimated to be announced sometime between February and April.

Disney Cruise 2024 Dates – When Will 2024 Disney Itineraries be Released?

Sharing is caring!

Wondering when the Disney Cruise 2024 dates will be released?

If you want to sail on a Disney Cruise Ship in 2024 you will have to wait to book.

Whilst some other cruise lines release their new itineraries two or even three years ahead, Disney tends to only have dates released around 18 months ahead of time.

However, if you would like to plan a Disney Cruise vacation for 2024 there are some indicators of when you will be able to book, and also where the five Disney cruise ships are likely to sail.

ALL 2024 DATES RELEASED – SEE WHAT IS AVAILABLE

A Disney Cruise has a variety of activities and entertainment options available on the cruise, including character meet and greets, Broadway-style shows, and deck parties. And of course that all-important Disney Service.

Here I show you how to predict when sailings are likely to be released, how to plan, where the ships are likely to sail, and talk about a new destination for Disney Cruise Lines that is on the horizon for late 2023 and 2024.

How Far in Advance Can You Plan a Disney Cruise?

When will the disney cruise for 2024 be announced, disney cruise itinerary announcement history, when can you book a disney cruise 2025, how do you book a disney cruise, will the new castaway cay pearl level influence the 2024 disney cruise release dates, disney cruise 2024 dates for the dream, disney magic 2024 – where will she sail, disney wonder sails to a new destination in 2024, when will disney cruise to hawaii again, 10-night hawaiian cruise from vancouver to honolulu, 10-night hawaiian cruise from honolulu to vancouver, disney cruise line sails to australia.

If you look at the table below you can see that we can make a reasonable guess at when the 2024 Disney Cruises will be available to be booked.

There is some pattern, but it has changed over the years, particularly in 2022.

disney wonder 2024

As you can see, going back to the Disney Cruises for 2015 this is the “usual ” pattern. There have been some anomalies, but in general, we can say:

  • Early sailings are usually released from late September to late October
  • Summer Disney Sailings are released any time from early to mid-May
  • Fall and Winter Disney cruises are bookable from May to June.

Of course, there are exceptions, such as the fact that the Fall 2023 cruises were released late in July 2022.

However, there are probably very good reasons for this delay in 2022.

The Disney Wish had just been launched and there have also been some issues with actually getting through to Disney Cruise customer service.

The Disney Cruises to Australia and New Zealand were released in October 2022.

These are incredibly popular and this likely had an impact on when the 2024 cruises for the other ships will be released.

The Transpacific and Hawaii Disney cruises were released separately.

Castaway Club members had priority, but these were released to the public on 13 October.

Disney announced the early 2024 Disney Cruise Line itineraries on December 7, 2024. This was very much later than in previous years.

This release is the latest in 7 years!

However, the announcement for Summer 2024 came earlier than the corresponding time for the previous year.

When will all the 2024 Disney Cruise sailings be available? It has been announced that Fall 2024 cruises will be available to book for the general public on Monday, June 26, 2023.

Therefore at that time all of the 2024 sailings will be available to book, subject to availability.

Here is a table that shows the history of when the Disney Cruise sailings were released from 2015 to date.

If you want to book a Disney Cruise for 2025 go to the article below:

castaway cay weather

W here is Disney Sailing in 2025?

You can go online to see the Disney Cruises that are available.

If you are waiting for new cruise dates Disney Cruise Line usually announces them about a week before they are actually released.

This gives you the chance to look at the itineraries and see what you want to book.

Disney Castaway Cay Club Members are given priority along with certain other categories.

You become a member of the Disney Castaway Cay Club after your first sailing.

Silver Members have sailed between one and five cruises, Gold between six and ten.

To reach Platinum status you must have sailed ten cruises and above.

Usually, the earlier you book the lower the price.

Booking early is also a good thing if you want to book Concierge staterooms, particularly on the Disney Wish.

If you want to get an idea of a cost of a Disney Cruise I have been following this for a long time and have lots of updated guides including:

How Much Does a Disney Wish Cruise Cost 2023?

What is the price of a Disney European Cruise?

As an example here are the dates for when guests could book the Summer 2023 Disney Cruises.

  • Monday, May 2nd – Platinum Members, Golden Oak Club Members, and Club 33 Members
  • Tuesday, May 3rd – Gold Castaway Club members
  • Thursday, May 5th – Silver Members, Disney Vacation Club Members, and Adventures by Disney Insiders
  • Monday, May 9th, first-time cruisers will be able to book.

Once the cruises have been released and are available to book for first-time cruisers, you can book at any time, subject to availability.

When you have sailed on a Disney Cruise you become a member of the Castaway Cay Club – the DCL loyalty program.

There are 3 Disney Castaway Club Levels of membership:

  • Silver – Begins after your first completed cruise
  • Gold – Begins after your fifth completed cruise
  • Platinum – Begins after your tenth completed cruise.
  • Pearl = Begins after your twenty-fifth completed cruise.

Disney Cruise Line has announced that there will be a new level.

When you have completed 25 cruises you will attain Pearl status.

This new level will begin on May 1, 2024.

It may be that the new summer 2024 cruises will not be released until after May 1, 2024, so those of us with the new title will have priority.

This is usually the pattern for the release of sailings for Castaway Club Members.

Castaway Cay Members will have priority booking according to this schedule:

  • Silver Castaway – 1 day prior to sailings being released to the general public

Where Will Disney Cruise Line Sail in 2024?

If you are wanting to book a Disney Cruise date 2024 it is a good idea to do your research ahead of time, so that you can think about which ship you want to book and the itinerary that you want to sail.

You will want to know the different dates and ports of call so that you can start to choose which Disney Cruise you want to book.

Although we never really know until DCL releases the exact itineraries, we can probably safely assume that certain things will happen:

  • The Disney Wish will most likely sail 3 and 4-night Bahamas Sailings. This is likely to continue at least until the sixth Disney Cruise ship is launched.
  • The Disney Fantasy will sail from Port Canaveral on 7-night Western and Eastern Caribbean sailings. The Fantasy is the perfect choice for a Caribbean cruise.

She will sail to her new homeport of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, in November 2023.

From what we can see of the November and December 2023 itineraries, the Dream is likely to continue sailing 5 Night Western Caribbean and 4-night cruises to the Bahamas.

All of these cruises will visit Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay

When the 2023 Summer itineraries were released, there was some surprise as the Disney Dream is going to be sailing in Europe. In previous years Disney Magic has sailed in Europe.

It seems likely that the Disney Dream will sail to Europe again in 2024. This is a destination that is on many people’s bucket lists.

Disney Mediterranean Cruise – What You Need to Know

Likely home ports for whichever Disney ship sails to Europe are Barcelona, Dover or Southampton, and Copenhagen. Some of the fabulous destinations that will most likely be included are:

  • In the Mediterranean Cannes, Livorno, Naples, Civitavecchia (for Rome), Naples, Mykonos, Piraeus, Santorini, and Chania.
  • For a British Isles Disney Cruise, the ports may include Belfast, Greenock, Liverpool, Ringaskiddy, and Portland.
  • On an exciting Norway cruise Amsterdam, Skjolden, Nordfjordeid, Sandnes
  • On a magical cruise to Iceland, Norway, and France the port stops most likely will be Cherbourg, Reykjavik, Isafjordur, Akureyri, and Alesund

If she does sail to Europe I would predict that New York will be her temporary home port for Fall 2024 before she sails back to Fort Lauderdale.

disneymagic2024

We don’t know yet where the Disney Magic will sail in 2024, but we can take a reasonable guess at the itineraries that she might sail.

The Disney Magic will be in Galveston at the end of 2023 after sailing through the Panama Canal.

Disney Magic will have her home port in Galveston until the end of January 2024 when she will reposition to New Orleans.

She will then sail back to Galveston to start more Western Caribbean sailing on March 5, 2024,

The Magic will then sail 2 Southern Caribbean sailings from San Juan.

The last sailing for the Magic that we know about right now is the Southern Caribbean from San Juan.

The 2023 Disney Cruise Fall Itineraries were not released with the other four ships in July 2022.

When this article was originally written In August 2022, I said it was highly likely that the Disney Wonder would be sailing to Australia in 2023.

disney cruise australia prices

We now know that this prediction has come true and that she will be sailing Transpacific cruises to reposition to Australia and New Zealand.

She will return to Vancouver in early March 2023.

After sailing from Vancouver to San Diego on March 11, 2024, the Wonder will sail her usual Baja and Mexican Riviera itineraries until she returns to Vancouver on May 13, 2024.

Although the specific sailings have not been released yet Disney Wonder will sail from Vancouver on what is likely to be her usual 7-night Alaskan itineraries until September.

Will she then sail back to Australia via Hawaii for more Pacific cruises in late 2024?

Many people hope that there will be more Disney Cruises to Hawaii.

Hawaii Disney Cruises are pretty rare. The first Disney Cruise to Hawaii was in 2012.

There were two Hawaii Cruises on the Disney Wonder in 2012. They were 15-night round-trip cruises from San Diego in May and September.

Disney has not repeated this cruise itinerary to Hawaii, which had 9 sea days, since 2012.

There was a gap of eight years before Disney scheduled another Hawaii Cruise. That was supposed to happen in 2020, but as we know, a lot of things just didn’t happen in 2020.

In 2022 the Disney Wonder sailed from San Diego to Hawaii and from Hawaii to Vancouver, Canada, to start her Alaskan sailings.

Disney Cruise Ship Stern Characters

Thankfully we now know the answer!

Disney Wonder will sail two repositioning cruises to Hawaii in late 2023 and early 2024.

The Disney Wonder will sail from Vancouver to Honolulu Hawaii on October 3 2023

The starting prices are:

Inside Stateroom $2,632 Outside Stateroom $2,752 Verandah Stateroom $3,902 Concierge Stateroom $7,372

Disney Wonder will sail from Honolulu Hawaii to Vancouver Canada on March 1 2024

Inside Stateroom $2,601 Outside Stateroom $2,731 Verandah Stateroom $3,881 Concierge Stateroom $7,381

Many people had their wishes granted when the Hawaii cruises were announted, as this is one of the most sought-after and popular Disney cruises.

Now we know that there will be two cruises for the Disney Wonder with port stops in Hawaii and she will briefly have Honolulu as her home port.

When the late 2023 schedules were first announced there was some mystery surrounding the Disney Wonder.

When the itineraries for the Disney Wish, Dream, Magic, and Fantasy were announced, there was a lot of speculation as the Wonder sailings were not announced at the same time.

The reason was that Disney was waiting to announce that they would sail to Australia for the first time!
