With a career spanning more than 27 years, Dave Matthews Band is one of the most influential bands in rock history. In 1991, vocalist/guitarist Dave Matthews decided to put some songs he had written on tape and sought the assistance of drummer Carter Beauford and saxophonist LeRoi Moore, who were both accomplished jazz musicians in the local Charlottesville, VA music scene. 16-year-old bassist Stefan Lessard came on board shortly thereafter. Their infectious, distinctive sound garnered lots of early attention and a die-hard loyal fan base, catapulting the band into one of the most successful touring acts of the past three decades.

The group has since released nine studio albums and numerous live recordings, selling a collective 38 million CDs and DVDs combined since the 1994 release of its major label debut, Under the Table and Dreaming. The GRAMMY®-winning band's many hits include "What Would You Say," "Crash Into Me," "Too Much," "Everyday," "American Baby," "Funny The Way It Is," "Mercy" and "Samurai Cop (Oh Joy Begin)."

Founding member LeRoi Moore passed away in August of 2008 and the band paid tribute to him with 2009's Platinum-certified Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King. Dave Matthews Band has since welcomed longtime collaborators/touring musicians Jeff Coffin (saxophone), Rashawn Ross (horns) and Tim Reynolds (guitar) into the lineup and - most recently - keyboardist Buddy Strong.

With 2018's Come Tomorrow, Dave Matthews Band became the first group in history to have seven consecutive studio albums debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. In a Critic's Pick review, The New York Times observed, "willed optimism fills the songs on 'Come Tomorrow,' while cynicism and irony are nowhere within earshot... each song notes the fears and sorrows it's determined to overcome. The music does that, with consolation in its melodies and a life force in its rhythms."

Renowned for their live performances, Dave Matthews Band has sold over 24 million tickets since its inception and ranked as the biggest ticket seller worldwide of the past decade. The group's Bama Works Fund, established in 1999, has raised more than $52 million dollars for humanitarian and environmental initiatives.

Amazing show.

Dave and the band took the stage for the first time in 2024. They sounded great! Dave said it was a great room for making music! Love the Let's Dance cover! Tim and Buddy wend crazy, Tim who usually shows little emotion fist pump Buddy after their dual.......his smile so wide. Great show for my 41ST yes 41

Disappointing set list and overpriced tickets

I’ve been a fan of Dave Matthews Band for about 30 years. They haven’t toured in Vegas for about 20 years so I was excited to see their Vegas tour stop. I’ve seen them perform 6 times when I lived in Pittsburgh and always a great show. I bought tickets during the Citi pre-sale for $250 each for Section 306. Ridiculously overpriced but I didn’t want to miss them. The set list was terrible. They didn’t play many of their hits. They are amazing musicians and if you weren’t expecting to hear the hits that first drew you to them, I think it would have been enjoyable. Many attendees sitting around me expressed the same sentiment and were very disappointed. DMB performed in Arizona the next day and had an amazing set list and the ticket prices were more reasonably priced. It’s three days later and I’m still regretting spending the money for the show. If I saw the set list prior to the show, I wouldn’t have purchased the tickets.

DMB is the best and doesn’t get better than Dolby Kive

Unique set list. Started show a bit slow but it was a solid show overall with a couple new covers too. Dolby live has incredible sound. And not a bad seat in the house.

What a great show. New covers, intense visuals, great times. I love this band and how much they love what they do.

Great show at a great venue

Had excellent seats and Dave and the guys did a few new covers. ZZ Top Cheap Sunglasses was a pleasant surprise and Let's Dance Bowie cover sounded fantastic. I'm sure we will be seeing those 2 songs on tour a bit this summer. Jimi Thing and Warehouse were great and finishing up the nite with Nancies was when my wife lost her mind and her voice. Lol. It's always hard to see DMB for a 1 nite show because of the size of their catalog but it was a nite to remember. Alpine and Deer are next up.

They’re the best of what’s around!

My favorite band to see. Add the sound quality of the Dolby Live Theater and you’ve got yourself one heck of a show. Outstanding! Thanks DMB for another amazing show in the books. 🩷

Dave Matthews just amazing

If you have never been to Alpine Valley, do yourself a favor and see DMB there. Not only is it a beautiful view from anywhere in the venue but put Dave and Tim on the stage and it will change your life. My wife's first time at Alpine in 2022 for Dave was a life changing experience for her and we have been to 5 more shows since and have plans for 6 stops on summer tour this season after we get done with Vegas March 1st. Alpine is on the schedule for this year and gonna hit Ohio, Michigan and Noblesville. The album and radio play versions of their music does not even come close to what you will experience seeing them live. The music just envelopes your whole being and gives you a type of connection to it that I haven't experienced since the Jerry Garcia days on tour w the Dead.

Was super great energy and the crowd was so awesome , the band was incredible and always the best sound ever ….. was a very enjoyable show….. ❤️

It’s not fall till DMB plays MSG.

Two incredible nights to close the North American tour at MSG. Great energy, great set lists, and amazing guests. They’ve been doing it for 30 years now with no end in sight.

Great show, great sound, easy access. Loved it! I missed the fiddle man but the trumpet was amazing & the piano was outstanding! Wish DMB would expand his tour venues to Puerto Rico! I’d be there every night.

Dave Matthews Band Announce Fall 2022 Tour

Dave Matthews Band has announced a new tour. The band’s fall 2022 dates follow a stretch of dates in Colorado, Arizona, and California, bringing them up to Vancouver, Seattle, and Portland and trekking across the United States, performing in cities like Chicago, Minneapolis, and Salt Lake City before concluding with two nights at Madison Square Garden in New York. The band is partnering with the Nature Conservancy as part of the organization’s Plant a Billion Trees program. Proceeds from the tour will allow the organization plant an additional one million trees, among other forest restoration efforts. Dave Matthews Band formed in 1991. The band released its debut EP, Recently , in 1994, followed by its celebrated debut album, Under the Table and Dreaming , later that year. Tickets Go On Sale To The Public On Friday, September 23rd

Today, Dave Matthews Band announced a fall 2022 North American tour, which will launch on November 2 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC – the first of three Pacific Northwest dates. The headline run, which will include shows at Target Center in Minneapolis (November 13) and Chicago’s United Center (November 15), will conclude the weekend before Thanksgiving with a two-night stand at Madison Square Garden in New York City (November 18 & 19).

An online ticket presale for members of the DMB Warehouse Fan Association is now underway at www.warehouse.davematthewsband.com . Citi is the official card for the U.S. dates on the Dave Matthews Band 2022 Fall Tour. Citi cardmembers will have access to presale tickets beginning Tuesday, September 20, at 9:00 a.m. local time until Thursday, September 22, at 10:00 p.m. local time through the Citi Entertainment program. With the 2022 tour, Dave Matthews Band will have funded the planting of an additional one million trees, bringing the total amount of trees funded to 3 million. Dave Matthews Band Detail Fall 2023 Tour Dates, MSG Shows

Today, Dave Matthews Band have revealed their plans for a captivating U.S. fall tour. The headline tour is poised to take place throughout November and comprises eight shows, including two nights at New York’s Madison Square Garden.

Dave Matthews Band’s tour will commence at Savannah, Ga.’s Enmarket Arena on Nov. 7. From there, the band will continue to take the stage at notable venues, including the Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, S.C., as well as two-night engagements at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, Va., the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn., and finally the aforementioned shows at Madison Square Garden which will serve as the tours final shows on Nov. 17 and 18.

Notably, a portion of the proceeds generated from the shows at John Paul Jones Arena will contribute to the band’s ongoing commitment to the redevelopment of Charlottesville’s public housing. This initiative is an augmentation to the substantial five million dollars that the band, in collaboration with Bama Works and Red Light Management, has already dedicated to this project.

Continuing their admirable alliance with The Nature Conservancy , the band has seen the planting of three million trees since 2020. The upcoming fall tour will further this partnership, adding another million trees to the tally. Concertgoers can contribute to the cause by donating an optional $2 per ticket, supporting The Nature Conservancy’s global endeavor to plant one billion trees by 2025 through their Plant a Billion Trees campaign. Additionally, as the curtain draws on their summer tour, the Dave Matthews Band will commemorate their traditional three-day Labor Day weekend celebration at the renowned Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Wash., on Sept. 1-3.

Following the extensive U.S. fall tour, the band will embark on an international journey to South Africa with performances in Pretoria and Cape Town, while Matthews and guitarist Tim Reynolds will embark on their seventh all-inclusive concert vacation in Mexico’s Riviera Maya in 2024.

Dave Matthews Band Unveil Fall 2023 Tour Dates

Dave Matthews Band will wind down 2023 on the road. On Tuesday (August 29), the band announced a handful of dates for a late fall 2023 tour. Taking place throughout November, the tour takes them to five cities in the U.S.

The trek kicks off on November 7 in Savannah, Georgia, followed by a stop in Greenville, South Carolina, on November 8. They’ll host two-night stays in their hometown of Charlottesville, Virginia, at John Paul Jones Arena, as well as Uncasville, Connecticut, at Mohegan Sun Arena, and New York City at Madison Square Garden where the tour wraps on November 17 and 18.

The tour will also be an environmentally and socially conscious endeavor. A portion of the proceeds from their shows in Charlottesville will be donated to their ongoing efforts for the city’s public housing redevelopment program. In 2018, Dave Matthews Band, frontman Dave Matthews and Red Light Management pledged to donate $5 million for the reinvestment in public and affordable housing in Charlottesville.

The band will also continue to support The Nature Conservancy’s Plant a Billion Trees campaign during the fall tour. According to a press release, the campaign is “a major forest restoration effort to plant a billion trees around the world by 2025.” Since 2020, three million trees have been planted.

The fall trek will follow the band’s summer tour that concludes with their annual Labor Day shows at Gorge Amphitheatre in George, Washington, September 1-3. Not long after the fall tour concludes, the band will perform two shows in Matthew’s native South Africa at SunBet Arena in Pretoria on December 10 and Grand Arena in Cape Town on December 12. He was born in Johannesburg and his family moved to America when he was two years old. This marks the first time the band has played in South Africa in a decade.

Dave Matthews Band isn’t done with the road just yet this year.

After wrapping their sprawling 44-concert summer ‘Walk Around The Moon Tour’ with three back-to-back-to-back concerts at George, WA’s Gorge Amphitheater , DMB will return to stages all over North America for eight more shows in November.

That includes a pair of gigs at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Friday, Nov. 17 and Saturday, Nov. 18 .

And if you want to see Dave deliver the hits you know and love as well as a few tracks from his recently released “Walk Around The Moon” album, you can secure your seats as soon as today .

Dave Matthews Band announced plans to tour the U.S. this fall. The headline run, which will kick off on November 7 at Enmarket Arena in Savannah, GA, will also include a show at Bon Secours Wellness Arena in Greenville, SC plus two-night stands at John Paul Jones Arena in the band’s hometown of Charlottesville, VA, Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, CT and New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

A portion of proceeds from the John Paul Jones Arena shows will benefit the band’s ongoing commitment to the resident-led redevelopment of Charlottesville’s public housing. This contribution is in addition to the five million dollars that Bama Works,  Dave Matthews Band  and Red Light Management have already committed to the project.

Dave Matthews Band’s ongoing partnership with The Nature Conservancy has resulted in three million trees being planted since 2020.  This year’s partnership, which will continue with the fall tour, will bring the total to four million trees.  Fans can join in this mission by adding an optional donation of $2 per ticket to plant a tree with The Nature Conservancy’s Plant a Billion Trees campaign – a major forest restoration effort with the goal of planting a billion trees around the world by 2025. Their summer tour draws to a close with the band’s traditional three-day, Labor Day weekend celebration at Gorge Amphitheatre in George, WA (September 1-3). Named as a UN Environment Goodwill Ambassador in 2019, Dave Matthews Band has a long history of reducing their environmental footprint, going back to their first shows in 1991. Following their fall U.S. dates, Dave Matthews Band will head to South Africa to play shows in Pretoria and Cape Town. Dave matthews band, fall tour 2022, dmb and reverb are partnering on the fall tour 2022 to increase action on the climate emergency, reduce the environmental footprint of touring, and plant 1,000,000 trees.

Dave Matthews Band and REVERB are hitting the road this fall working to reduce the environmental footprint of live touring and increase action on the climate crisis as part of the Music Climate Revolution campaign.

DMB is also continuing its commitment to plant 1 MILLION more trees in addition to the 2 million trees the band has helped plant over the past 2 years in partnership with The Nature Conservancy and DocuSign.

This year’s tour will eliminate more greenhouse gas pollution than all measured tour emissions INCLUDING fan travel to and from the shows!

MUSIC CLIMATE REVOLUTION

DMB is taking climate action on tour as a partner of Music Climate Revolution . In addition to taking steps with REVERB to reduce the environmental footprint of touring, the band has committed to calculating and addressing tour emissions not mitigated through other means.

Major tour emitters including band and crew travel, hotel stays, gear transport, venue energy use, fan travel, and more, are calculated at the conclusion of the tour. In acknowledgement of those emissions, the band will support innovative third-party verified climate projects that measurably prevent, sequester, or reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Together with other efforts including their support of planting millions of trees, DMB will help eliminate significantly more greenhouse gas pollution than created on tour.

Dave Matthews Band is returning this year with a new album and a full summer tour in support. The veteran, record-setting rock band announced on Tuesday (Jan. 24) that Walk Around the Moon , their 10th studio album, is set to drop May 19 via RCA Records.

Looking Ahead: A Release Calendar of Upcoming Albums in 2023

Spanning 12 original tracks, Walk Around the Moon was formed during the pandemic and “is as much a reflection on the current times as it is an urge to find common ground,” reads a statement from the band.

Producer Rob Evans worked on “Madman’s Eyes,” which DMB road-tested at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, back in November 2021.

The fresh cut blends Middle Eastern vibes with horns and strings, and sees Matthews pose the question, “When it’s too late to untwist the knife/ How do we face hatred with the love inside us.”

Longtime collaborator John Alagia served as executive producer of Walk Around the Moon , with Evans working on most of its tracks. A limited-edition deluxe vinyl option is available exclusively at the official DMB website .

With the new collection comes a major North American jaunt. Following three dates in Mexico, DMB will kick off its U.S. run at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in The Woodlands, Texas, on May 19. As the calendar currently stands, the trek is scheduled to wrap Sept. 3 with the last in a three-night stand at Gorge Amphitheatre, in George, Wash.

Walk Around the Moon is the follow-up to Come Tomorrow from 2018, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 , the band’s seventh consecutive leader, a hot streak that dates back to 1998’s Before These Crowded Streets. DMB is the only group to see seven straight studio albums bow at No. 1 on the U.S. tally.

Formed in Charlottesville, Va., in 1991, DMB has more than 25 million career ticket sales and upwards of 38 million combined CD and DVD sales, according to reps.

Though, despite winning the fan vote by a wide margin in 2020, DMB has yet to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Tickets for the DMB summer tour will be available to the general public beginning Feb. 17 at 10 a.m. local time.

Dave Matthews Band has announced its 10th studio album — the first in five years — titled “Walk Around the Moon,” out May 19. The band also revealed dates for a 2023 North American summer tour, kicking off May 9 in Mexico City and ending on Sept. 3 in George, Wash, with the band’s traditional three-day Labor Day weekend celebration at Gorge Amphitheatre.
