Description.

• One night, when Kozue Kato realizes she's forgotten some paperwork at her university, she decides to make a late-night trip to grab it. However, when large dark beasts appear during her errand, she barely escapes with her life thanks to the help of a mysterious woman named Sayuri Shirasagi. Not all is well, though. Soon reports of people going missing begin to spread. Kozue and Sayuri suspect the creatures and disappearances are related, and they decide to team up to investigate.

A mysterious black hole has appeared on the region of the South Pole and is expanding day by day. Concerned about this event, the United Nations sent a collection of elites from around the world to investigate the area called Schwarzwelt (シュバルツバース, Shubarutsubāsu , Schwarz-verse ). Inside, the U.N. Schwarzwelt Investigational Team finds that the area has been infested with supernatural beings known as demons that threaten to cross into the human world. As the team delves further into the Schwarzwelt, they find strange and repulsive callbacks to human society.

The player assumes control of an unnamed soldier from America (or Japan in the Japanese version), who will be working with three other crew members assigned by the Joint Project. The crew dons Demonica suits , which enables access to special abilities as well as regulating the player to the conditions within the Schwarzwelt.

The major characters of Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey are:

• The protagonist - A USMC officer who underwent intense combat and command training between tours of duty. He was transferred to the Schwarzwelt Investigation Team by U.N. request. As a member of the Strike Team, his duties include off-ship missions and providing security for the expedition. He is on the crew roster for ship one, the Red Sprite .
• Commander Gore - The overall commander of the Schwarzwelt Investigation Team. He was originally a military officer serving a large country; the leadership abilities he displayed during his service earned him the top position on the team that now holds the fate of mankind. He commands the Red Sprite directly in addition to overseeing operations on the other three ships.
• Jimenez - Another member of the expedition with an American military background, Jimenez began his career as an enlisted man and is now a private contractor, attracted to the expedition by the promise of a financial gain. He serves on ship two, the Blue Jet , as a member of the Strike Team.
• Zelenin - A Russian scientist recognized for her research on the Schwarzwelt. Her position as the First Lieutenant of the Monitor Team was one of the first appointments made. Her chief duty is to research the Schwarzwelt's true nature along with her crewmates on ship three, the Elve .
• Arthur - The command unit for the Red Sprite , installed with an administrative pseudopersonality. From his vantage point tied into all the ship's systems, he extrapolates and proposes missions for the team. He is named after real life writer Arthur C. Clarke, who wrote the science fiction novel 2001: A Space Odyssey .
• Bugaboo - Deep inside the Schwarzwelt, the Schwarzwelt Investigation Team finds Bugaboo, a demon that has undergone torture at the hands of other demons. Scanning Bugaboo shows that it is only 75% demon.
• Mastema - A mysterious entity that appears before the Schwarzwelt Investigation Team, resembling an angel with black wings. He is skilled in mystical arts and has the power to break the demons' barriers, but his countenance is more sinister than divine. He claims to have come to the Schwarzwelt on God 's orders. In the Japanese release, he was called Mansemat .
• Strange Girl - An enigmatic girl who speaks of demons and humans, but seems content to witness the proceedings rather than take an active hand. Her name is Louisa Ferre in the US version.
• Alex : A new character introduced in Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux . She is hunting down the protagonist for unspecified reasons.

Gameplay [ ]

Strange Journey returns to the original Shin Megami Tensei style of dungeon crawling with a first person perspective, and uses animated sprites instead of 3D models. Additionally, there is no world map; each major area is completely isolated and can only be accessed through a hub area.

The inclusion of the Demonica ( DEMO untable N ext I ntegrated C apability A rmor) allows the protagonist to upgrade his abilities through the use of "Apps". Apps include both combat and exploration abilities, such as the ability to unlock doors. The number of apps the player can have active is limited in the original Strange Journey , but not in the Redux rerelease.

Among other features, apps automate the effects of Estoma , Liftoma , and Riberama , so those skills are no longer present.

Demon Analysis [ ]

Unlike in other games, demons initially hide their appearance when first encountered, appearing as a sprite that looks like white noise, and all statistics for the demon will be displayed as "??". Attempting to negotiate with an unknown demon results in unintelligible text, and though the player can respond, the effects of the negotiation are completely random.

After defeating a demon once, the Demonica will advance its analysis level to 1, revealing the demon's name and appearance for all future encounters. Defeating demons, using them in your party, and including them in Co-Op attacks will advance their analysis level further. At level 2, the demon's elemental affinities will be revealed, and at level 3, all information about the demon will be revealed. Fusing or recruiting a demon will also immediately upgrade its analysis to level 2.

Co-Op Attacks [ ]

The Co-Op system replaces the Press Turn system from the previous game . If the protagonist or any of the player's demons hit an elemental weakness, all allies of the same alignment (Law, Chaos, or Neutral) will perform a Co-Op attack. Co-Op attacks will only ever manifest as a single hit, but they will be stronger if more allies contribute to the attack. Co-Op attacks are non-elemental and cannot be resisted or negated. Additionally, Co-Op attacks significantly increase the analyze rate of the participating demons.

Unlike the Press Turn system, this mechanic is exclusive to the player, and enemies cannot benefit from Co-Op attacks.

Demon Sources [ ]

When an allied demon's analysis level is maxed out, it will grant the player a Demon Source or D-Source, which can be added to any fusion to grant fused demons additional skills. D-Sources contain up to three fixed skills, as well as a bonus skill randomly selected from the demon's own learned skills. The player can only hold one of each D-Source at a time, and may rarely regain D-Sources from their respective demons as level-up gifts.

In addition to Macca, purchasing items now also consumes a resource known as Forma. Forma is obtained from demons (either by defeat or negotiation), with every demon having its own Forma, and from the overworld, with every Sector having its own Forma. Items are crafted through recipes requiring specific Forma.

Password System [ ]

By using an up to 32 digit code in the Demon Compendium, players can trade passwords to unlock demons from each other. Certain demons can only be obtained in this way, and Atlus revealed certain passwords to give players access. It was decided that this system was easier to use than connecting through Wi-Fi, as passwords can be posted anywhere and used at anytime.

Miscellaneous [ ]

Additional mechanics include:

• Gun attacks have returned after their absence in Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne .
• Gun weapons now provide up to three skills when equipped by the protagonist. Each gun has a unique skill list. These skills often cost MP and mimic the effect of offensive spells.
• Stats use the same scale as Digital Devil Saga : Stats go up to 99 and characters gain 3 stat points on level up.
• Unlike in previous games, the player does not choose how to allocate the protagonist's stat points on level up; instead, the protagonist has one of several stat growth patterns based on the player's answer to a personality questionnaire at the start of the game.

Reception [ ]

Strange Journey was well received by critics. IGN gave it 4 stars (8.5 on a scale of 10), saying that "though the game's turn-based combat system is standard stuff, fusing demons, launching co-op attacks, and exploring the environments keeps things interesting." It received a score of 36/40 from Famitsu, which was the highest score given by the Japanese magazine to an Atlus game at the time.

• The American release was accompanied by a soundtrack CD as well as a collectible outer box with all launch copies of the game. Music is done by long-time composer Shoji Meguro .
• A poster was available with the pre-order of the game from GameStop . It is located behind the box art.
• In 2009, a forum thread claimed that the game was developed as Shin Megami Tensei IV according to an interview with Kazuma Kaneko , but since the game's setting does not take place in Tokyo, it is apparently not named as such. [1] However, a new interview with director Eiji Ishida contradicts this. Ishida says that Strange Journey was conceived as a spinoff from the very beginning, but the promotional staff and Kazuma Kaneko thought that its quality was high enough to be called Shin Megami Tensei IV . Ishida ultimately refused to market it as such. Ishida also makes no mention of its setting not being in Tokyo becoming a factor. [2]  
• To date, Strange Journey has the fewest playable characters out of any Shin Megami Tensei game excluding fusible demons.
• The vehicles used to explore the Schwarzwelt are based on the Landmasters from a post-apocalyptic science fiction movie called Damnation Alley .

Adventure, Indie, RPG

The golden standard of oldschool hentai lewd games, but what in the world are you doing with the ratio, fix it, but, if you can get past that, it's great. There is so much to do, it kind of acts like persona, you have to beat a monster before the end of the month, study, and well whore yourself out if you're into that. Very much another corruption style game, but you can avoid some. There is some points of the game that are totally bad (game play wise, unfair and shoves you into a cutscene)

Game Is: H turn-based RPG with VERY heavy Persona influences.

[+] The life-sim is one of the best parts of the game. It is quite engrossing to carefully juggle your everyday activities with your other-world dungeon-crawling.

[+/-] The combat is definitely better then most of these types of games due to the Persona-like one-more system. However the dungeon design is pretty bland.

[+/-] The story is fairly interesting but that's because it's pretty much just Persona, mostly P4.

[-] The game runs on an older version of RPG-Maker so the play experience can feel a bit rough around the edges at times.

im giving this game a negative score because even after 40 hours of play i have no desire to finish the game. and that has a lot to do with the tone of the game world, made from the same universe as letinas odyssey and once i realized i realized why this game was so hard because that games was near impossible but once you realize enemies past the mountain scale with your crew you can level up to 99 easly with some patience. however once you do that theres no reason to take part in the h-content its all for the sake of making money but nothing to spend it on and youll be rich anyway no goal like tuition academy. and the world feels small always the same ppl appearing in the h-events and only 2 days in each month i never felt like i got to know the crew because i spent all my time eather studying or training a good example on how to make the world work is magical girl celiphane i constantly felt like there was more events and progression to each event ambrosia also works well with longer days and a greater emphissis on exploring the towns i feel like forcing myself to view the h_events is something i shouldent have to do but now that iv seen them i feel like theres nothing else here because i dont care about the story being told persona works so well because the cast is likeable and relateable not compleat straingers alll the way throw

If you install the patch from Kagura's website, make sure to start a new game. Otherwise you will run into bugs, such as missing hair models.

At a Glance

Kozue's Strange Journey is a lewd RPG about a group of friends and their investigation of a recent string of abductions.

Kozue’s Strange Journey features a unique battle system and basic time management. As you pursue the main quest line, you will be subjected a number of “Dungeons” where all combat will take place. Battles are turn-based, and not too different from a standard RPG, but there are a few details which stand out. Whenever anyone is hit with a Critical Hit or an attack they are weak to, it will result in a “Knock Down”. A character that is knocked down loses their next turn, and the character that knocked them down gets an extra attack.

Kozue is a member of an elite investigatory squad of magic-slinging schoolgirls. They protect the city from Shadows, malevolent entities that are born of malformed magic. Kozue must find the mastermind behind the Shadow army, while managing her friends and schoolwork. Were you not sold on the first sentence?

The titlescreen looks great! However, it is lacking a key feature: most RPGs have some form of "options" or "settings" screen that can be accessed from the title. A "Config" screen can be accessed in-game, where you may adjust audio and display preferences. From "Extra" you may view unlocked CGs and play "dress-up" with the protagonist. The application is irrecoverably fullscreened, though the actual gameplay is confined in a 4:3 window. The English isn't the best, but I'd say ninety-nine percent of the time you'll know what means what.

- The Goods- There are a whopping sixty-two scenes to unlock, many of which featuring one or more base CGS with variations in art and dialogue based on the characters' attire and experience. The artwork is very high-quality, and on-par for a high-budget title. Additionally, many characters sport nude portraits, allowing you to experience battle and dialogue with bare-breasted heroines. I was impressed by the generosity of unlockable sexual content that can encountered by simply playing the game. Be on the look-out for "H-Scene" markers, and be sure to talk about sex whenever you can! Expect female, female-on-female, and male-on-female sexual content.

I highly recommend this game. I had an absolute blast, and it's not often that I play a game where I ask "what happens next?" I would venture to say that this title is worth full price. . . though I still recommend waiting for a light sale. This game is far from perfect, but it boasts a lot of content and frankly depraved content — between glorified non-consensual sex and totally-eighteen actors, I definitely disrecommend this game for sexual prudes. As for the rest of you, I think you'll enjoy the wholesome character interactions, with a (strong) side of depravity.

This game is great, have many thing to do like interact with your friends like bonding, train together, or talk about (IYKWIM) , Do PART-TIME job(wink). story line is good you are ordinary girl who forgot notebook in your desk at college(wink) ,found cause of incident spirit away and help out to solve this case for good. character DEVELOPED around story progress. More importantly this game can play with ONE HAND

Asakiyumemishi has TONS of secrets and thank god there's no streamer's or gossip to ruin that fun for you and your friends. This dev has always placed tons of hidden content ingame and due to that has great replay value and very memorable moments and experiences. Legendary equipments and side quests etc. All of their games I feel lives up to true RPGs. All their previous title prior to this one has tons of Easter Eggs from their 1st title, and Easter Eggs are awesome! If your just here for the nut'n'go and not planning to play the game twice for completionist then there's plenty of other games you can find but if you're looking for more diverse and innovative combat like Kamichi game's, Asakiyumemishi games are definitely gonna be to you're liking. Anything Asakiyumemishi is probably an instant buy for me so cheers to the future and I hope they don't let their fans down!

I'm far from completing this game, currently grinding somewhere and had to start again, but even now I can write a review. To be honest, title is little misleading. Journey to the bottom of your Soul and beyond would be better I suppose. Anyway, grinding part? Checked. Lore part? Checked. Art part? Checked. Fighting part? Checked. RPG part? Checked. I'm surprised how developed is this game. It will probably take me more days to complete it how I want (you know, perfectionism is my quirk), but I was right. That's a good game. And of course no patch no fun, but you probably know it.

Even as a non-H RPG I would probably enjoy this game. It has a combat system I find fun if easily exploitable. The clothing variety is also pretty impressive, even if I did find a favourite outfit for each character pretty early and stick with it. There's also a good deal of secrets, from hidden treasure rooms (one of which is amusingly hidden withing another hidden treasure room) to hidden characters and hidden endings.

You might notice I haven't mentioned the H aspect yet. I like the concepts of the H systems in this game quite a bit, especially the ability the main character has to conversationally increase the H interest of key NPCs. It allows for the player to decide how debauched they want things to get. What I am less enthused about is the art, several of the character designs are not to my taste. I know that's some peoples' fetish, but not mine. Still, if that's what puts the wind in your sails, this will do it for you.

It has been a while since Kagura games has hit one out of the park. While this game isn't perfect, it is definetly a home run and then some. This is, as with pretty much all of Kagura game's lineup, an adult / H fantasy game. This one differs in that it is firmly put in the modern era with a modern day female protaganist college girl and her friends.

Pros: -Lots of content -Mini Dress Up game with many outfits and even hair styles. -While you have a wonderful protaganist, you also have a full party of gorgeous young women to undergo the experience with. -Interesting setting -Cut scenes for the most part seem to adjust depending on the outfit selected for the young woman.

Cons: -As with most all game in this genre still a bit rapey....though maybe a bit more oprtional than some of the prior games. -Can be a bit grindy at times. -While the story is interesting there were a few bits that were kinda inconsistent tone wise.

So, what can be said about this game? While not perfect, this game makes up for a lot of the deficits seen in many Kagura games. It is not perfect, but it is a good step or two up. I really liked that there was not just one young woman to get to role play but a whole party of them. While the protaganist and her friends are still heavily led towards being raped at some point, I don't think it is hard built into the story like some prior games. I would have liked to have seen more consensual sexual content available but was pleased to see that there at least was some. I really liked the temptation statistic being seperate from the lewdness statistic. It was fascinating to watch how this progressed in the characters through out the game. The fertility tracker was also interesting and some of the text beneath was just cute.

Now, as for the story. Obviously, this was not classic literature...but with a few exceptions it actually was pretty descent story telling, which is unfortunutly rare for this style of game. Game play itself was fairly fun though it did become a bit redundunt and grindy in virtually all ways after a while.

I fear that my review is not going to do this game justice, but without going much more in depth, for those that enjoy adult games and like gorgeous young women this is a great game. Obviously, if either of those don't apply for you, then this won't be your game. It does require a patch for adult content.

By far the best RPG Maker game I've played to date (own and played the original Japanese version for a long time). Even ignoring the adult content, it is a solid game with multiple playthroughs and a lot of content to explore.

People that liked the Persona series will love this one...though obviously it is focused on adult content instead.

Kozue´s strange journey es sin duda un juego que le metieron muchas ganas apesar de que flaquea en algunos aspectos. Su punto mas debil es sin duda su grafica la cual es demaciado simple, repetitiba e incluso fea en ciertas partes y con una biblioteca de montruos muy acotada. PESE A ESO (y algo que se podria solucionar si algun dia sacan un gran pach grafico cosa que no creo que valla a pasar pero ponele) el juego tiene un manejo muy solido y de principio a fin no tuve ningun problema, la historia es interesante y los personajes se defienden bastante bien toda la trama no es la gran cosa y obiamente toma demaciado de los Persona pero con eso en mente y lo que cuesta no es algo que moleste, incluso es algo para aplaudirle un juego de unas 20 horas (30 en mi caso porque quize sacar todo) se combierte en una grata experiencia donde podes desarroyar a full las intereacciones con todos los personajes, sacar una gran gama de poderes e incluso explorar a fondo como llevar a todos estos personajes a lo mas profundo del avismo de la inmoralidad jajaja incluso despues de eso el juego tiene integrada una sub quest para incorporar a dos personajes nuevos en la party, no hacen demaciado pero la quest es muy desente tambien tiene la peculiaridad de que todos los enemigos que presenta el juego son derrotable y no ahi un daiscript (por mas que que aveses lo paresca pero es por temas de no prepararte bien o por falta de nivel) y no es un juego complicado o muy grindero. por su tema de enfrentarte a muchos enemigos los niveles van escalando solos sin casi esfuerzo y te permite que el juego sea una experiencia bastante llevadera aun en sus partes mas bajas el boss final es facilmente derrotable en nivel 66 tengan esto en cuenta a pesar de que puede ser derrotable en lvl 55 o menos si se las ingenian. menciono este dato para que no exageren su leveleo tambien a partir del lvl 60 algunas zonas activan un sistema que cambia a los monstruos por criaturas mas fuertes y sin las apropiadas herramientas eses cambio puede ser mortal en la experiencia otro dato a tener en cuenta es que ahi dos elementos que facilitaran tu vida pero ahi que saber cuando conseguirlos al llevar la relacion con Shirayuki al maximo se puede activar una quest especial con ella y desencadenar un boss . este boss no es encarable sin el lvl correcto (creo que es 45 o mas) y al derrotarlo se obriene un poder especial y un armar especial los poderes especiales que obtenemos estan muy overpower, rotisimos, pero nesesarios para lo que vendra despues de derrotar este boss podremos encarar la prueva de los barrios bajos y ANTES de ir a la quest final ya podremos ir al bosque a hacer la sub quest paralela la cual tiene un boss que si no estamos lvl minimo a lvl 60 y preparados no se puede derrotar pero su drop vale la pena de ahi es mas el ultimo tramo de la historia se puede pasar sin problemas PERO sin haber echo todo esto antes la experiencia sera MUY DISTINTA por lo que cuesta el juego es un mas que recomendado y para los que les moleste el tema sexual del juego (porque comprarias este juego si eso te molesta?) es completamente puenteable si no lo buscas y te la arreglas para no perder disfrutenlo (°w°)/

Not really a fan of these types of game where you play the violated heroine, but this game got me hooked.

I really like the art style and direction. Although it's your regular manga/anime style for some reason this has a cohesive feel to it and the battle animations when you get a critical hit or attack of opportunity are a nice touch at making this game stand out from other RPG Maker games. Tilesets are more or less your typical RPGMaker fare from what I can tell.

You have to get an external patch if you want the adult content. Erotic CG's are not great but are not bad.

There are a few new music tracks but still has some typical RPGMaker stock music. Music dose the job it's suppose to.

The gameplay is what really makes this game easy to play and engaging. Everything (except cut scenes on the world map) can be fast forwarded, this includes battles which makes the grind very bearable.

The game is divided into days/weeks/months and Kozue goes to sleep at night and starts a new day in the morning. Each week has a school day and a day off (sometimes special events), so you don't actually play the full week. Each day typically gives you two time slots in which you can interact with characters or upgrade stats. I'll give the games story a 'meh' rating.

Some of the battle mechanics can feel unfair at times as your characters can be taken advantage of as if the enemy scores a critical hit on one party member it means the enemy gets a second hit in. This can be chained for some devastating results. Players have the same attack of opportunity mechanics, but in my experience this benefits the enemy more. The game features NG+ and can be completed several times.

Only gripe I have is there seems to be sub plot lines throughout the game that feel like they were abandoned. It could be that I'm just missing them as the only walkthroughs I could find are in a foreign language and doesn't translate well.

Overall I like the style of this game and feel it's worth the price.

I tried so hard to protect Retina's virginity in Retina Dungeon, I kept Retina a virgin in Eris Ordeal, but in the end she still became a th0t. Girls are scary.

Interesting Title, while the Prologue is a bit stretched-out, the game has quite a bit of freedom to roam around and explore different events. There is a lot of content involving almost all characters from the main cast, aside from a couple. However there are more than enough of them to have lots of it available. The combat system is very unique, has quite a bit of depth to it, including a system that allows you to exploit enemy weaknesses for extra turns and other bonuses.

A turn-off for some people might be that the art of the characters is a bit unique, however once you get used to it - it's not that bad.

Overall, there is more than enough content to keep you busy for 14-15 hours of gameplay as long as you aren't just skipping and rushing through it. Plus there are extra things and features available in NG+ which makes it for some interesting replability after you are done with the game once, allowing you to explore some other things you might have missed and quite honestly I would strongly encourage to play it again after a bit with your character stats kept in the new game, as there are some scenes that are only available at the very beginning of the game if your stats are high enough, which would be impossible to achieve in the very first play-through.

All in all, a solid 9/10 with no major complaints, except for maybe that i would have loved to see interactions for a few of the characters that were left out.

The story is pretty good, with a few twist. The game play is about what you would expect from this type of rpg. The official patch adds quite a bit, so I would recommend getting it. The new game+ adds replay value to the game.

This is an excellent example of a good idea poorly executed. The biggest issue is the game resolution, which actually hurts your eyes on the default config because the window is so small and can't be resized by simple methods. I found a way to force a fullscreen mode through an ini file, but it gets so pixelated that resembles playing a NES game on a 4K screen.

It feels not like a retro game but like an actual early-90s title played on 2020. You have to figure out the keys to play since there's no tutorial and the only configs available on the menu are volumes and RGB window color (???). A shame, the whole Persona-like gameplay seemed promising but the game is pretty much unplayable.

Without knowing where to go for the patches for the uncensored version of this game, it leads me to wonder why have it without the patch in the extras as other games do on here.

MECHANICS Kozue’s Strange Journey is a heavily scripted RPG-Maker game with a few management sim elements. The game is structured along a calendar: each day, you’ll have 2-3 time slots to fill before the day ends automatically. Possible actions include studying, training, going out into town to meet up with NPC’s, and dungeon exploration. Additionally, many slots are filled automatically by story-driven events.

Dungeon exploration is somewhat mandatory: the story serves you up a new dungeon every month with a boss that you’ll have to defeat before the month ends. Failing to do so typically results in negative consequences for the story. The combat itself is quite challenging for a RPG Maker game: you control a party of three characters, each with their own set of skills, and those skills actually matter. The devs also made a number of interesting design choices, such as the fact that your hitpoints get restored automatically after each fight, and a system for extra attacks / power attacks.

STORY You play as Kato Kozue, a student living in an unnamed city resembling modern-day Japan. At the start of the game, you return to your university at night to collect some notes you’ve forgotten. While there, you get attacked by a mysterious demon-like monster. An older girl from your school joins the fight, and explains afterwards that you – like her – possess a magical power that enables you to fight these beasts. Together, you set out to solve the mystery of the attacking demons, which seem to be related to people disappearing all over town.

The story, while not particularly original, is well-crafted and more elaborate than most other H-RPG’s games. It’s got a pretty upbeat vibe to it; while the lead characters may run into some nasty events, they’ll recover quickly and stay focused on achieving their goals. The main story arc is linear, but there are many optional quests and events to discover, and multiple endings to achieve.

QUALITY Kozue’s Strange Journey is a somewhat older game, which particularly shows in the quality of the graphics and the interface. But it’s clear that the devs put a decent amount effort in it. Gameplay, story, dungeon design and music are all better than many contemporary games in the genre, and make the game worth playing even without the lewd. The combat gameplay does get a bit grindy though, especially near the end when you have to gather enough power to defeat the final bosses.

SUBJECT About half the lewd in Kozue’s Strange Journey is about Kozue having sex with various NPC’s and, occasionally, monsters. The other half features other NPC’s, including her party members. ACCESS Lewd is optional in Kozue’s Strange Journey; if you avoid losing boss fights and any NPC encounter marked ‘H-Event’, you finish the game with a clean slate (which actually isn’t even that much harder than the lewd route).

After seeing a scene once, you can revisit it in a gallery in the main menu. Finishing the game enables a NG+ option, but – as far as I could see – no option to unlock the full gallery. The gallery does specify the requirements for unlocking a particular scene.

QUALITY The characters are all cute and there is quite a bit of variety to be found. Quality of the drawings is fairly average (some maybe a bit below), and the resolution is a bit dated (though still good enough).

VERRO’S VERDICT

As H-RPG’s come, Kozue’s Strange Journey is a pretty solid product. The story and gameplay and good enough to carry the game by themselves, which is always a pre in my book. The lewd may not be everyone’s cup of tea, especially some of the more shady tropes. But it’s tied nicely into the game, and it’s easy enough to steer around stuff that you don’t like. So thumbs up for this one!

Love this game! Love the art style, the characters, even the game play is pretty good. And the good stuff is just yum!

Pros -Lots of CGs. -Deep gameplay with good combat and Persona-style time progression.

Meh -Lots of missable events. -Game takes a long time to clear.

Cons -Art is kind of low-quality. -Not a fan of some of the H-scene themes. -Game is really too complicated for an H-game.

Conclusion An absolute monster of a game with a ton of CGs, and tons of gameplay to get through. The CG art is of fairly low quality and focuses a lot on themes that many may find distasteful. While I often remark that H-games could use some more depth in their gameplay, an H-game where a single clear requires 12-20 hours of play time that expects you to do multiple playthroughs is a bit much.

This game asks the question, "What if ILLUSION made the Persona series?" A question no one in their right mind would ask, except maybe those still hoping for Artificial Academy 3.

The answer to that question is Jane Q. Public teams up with a big tiddy fujoshi, your future sister-in-law, a preppy chav, historical revisionism, and the token non-virgin to perform extreme CBT to their teacher, a sociopath with a god complex who watched one too many episodes of Photon.

The fuck is Photon? Power Rangers with laser tag. The fuck does it have to do with Kozue's Strange Journey? Sure you want to ask this question?

A very good game. One of the "better" ones out there. I give it 9/10.

The game is an endless repetition of the very same day actually. We need to complete certain steps with a number or days or it's game over, meaning that we have next to no freedom as to how to play the game.

Heavy emphasis on child abuse and sexual child humiliation. At the end of each day, we are forced to watch a child rape scene that cannot be skipped or disabled. Annoyingly many dialogues that we need to spam Enter for to skip them. The same goes for battles: those are essentially just 'Hit Enter' fests.

In my opinion, Steam should ban this game, if only I knew how to contact them about this.
