Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings to Hold Conference Call on First Quarter 2024 Financial Results

MIAMI, April 17, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. (NYSE: NCLH) (together with NCL Corporation Ltd., “Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings” or the “Company”) announced today it will report first quarter 2024 financial results on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 7:30 a.m. Eastern Time with a conference call and webcast to discuss results at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time.

The conference call will be webcast via the Company’s Investor Relations website, https://www.nclhltd.com/investors. A replay of the webcast will be available here on the Company’s website for 30 days following the call.

Norwegian Unveils Modernized Logo and Brand Identity

For the first time since the carrier was founded in 2002, Norwegian has today announced the modernization of their logo and visual identity.

On  Wednesday (February 28, 2024), Norwegian Air Shuttle (Norwegian) announced the first update to their logo and brand identity since launching in 2002.  The modern new logo and avatar have been designed to present a warmer and clearer expression of the brands personality and uniqueness, while meeting today’s requirements and needs in marketing work.  The updated visual identity has been created by Norwegian’s marketing department, which is led by Eirik Bryn, in collaboration with Try Design, under the project management of Norwegian’s Creative Director, Camilla Aspen.

In Wednesday’s announcement, Norwegian’s EVP – Market and Customer Service, Christoffer Sundby, said,

“Norwegian's logo and brand are very well known and appreciated, and we are very proud of that.  Although we are now renewing ourselves, we promise that our customers will recognize us.  After more than 20 years, a modernization is in order, and this gives Norwegian a more modern, warmer and clearer expression that will take us safely into the next 20 years.”

Also commenting on the brand refresh, Norwegian’s Creative Director, Camilla Aspen, added,

“Our new visual identity has a richer color palette, a new typographic expression and image style, and a more flexible layout system.  We look forward to showing this off, both internally and externally.  The rollout does not happen overnight.  We will start in digital channels, and will then update gradually and structured in all communication areas, offices, airports and on the planes themselves.  Old and new can safely live side by side for a period of time.  At the beginning of March, the new profile and logo will be visible for the first time in our own and external media. ”

Norwegian Air Shuttle was established in September 2002 with four domestic routes and has since carried over 300 million passengers.  The carrier is the largest Norwegian airline and currently employs approximately 4,700 team members.  Most employees are based in Norway in Oslo, Trondheim, Bergen and Stavanger, or at the company’s head office at Fornebu in Bærum.  The carrier also has offices in Riga and Barcelona, as well as bases in Alicante and Malaga.  The Group also includes the regional carrier Widerøe, which employs a further 3,500 team members. 

Norwegian Air Shuttle operates a fleet of 87 aircraft, including 20 Boeing 737-8 MAX jets, while Widerøe operates a fleet of 48 aircraft, including 45 De Havilland Canada Dash-8 turboprops and Three Embraer E190-E2 jets.  The carrier currently offers affordable flights on a short-haul network of destinations in the Nordic countries and to key European destinations.  Norwegian aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 45 percent by 2030.

Od tętniących życiem miast po majestatyczne fiordy, lśniącą zorzę polarną i odległe wioski za kołem podbiegunowym. Norwegia to bardzo długi kraj, będący północnym krańcem Europy, w którym jest pełno wspaniałych miejsc do poznania. Gdzie chcesz zacząć swoją podróż? Jeśli planujesz podróż do Norwegii, przedstawiamy kilka najważniejszych miejsc do zobaczenia.

1. OSLO - STOLICA NORWEGII

Miasto otoczone przez zatokę Oslofjord, które otrzymało tytuł Zielonej Stolicy Europy 2019 ma wiele do zaoferowania. Nowatorska scena kulinarna, modne dzielnice, muzea i różnego rodzaju atrakcje. Obok miejskiego krajobrazu rozpościerają się gęste lasy i parki, które pokrywają ponad połowę gminy, a fiord rozciąga się aż do centrum miasta. Będąc tam, koniecznie musisz zobaczyć jeden z unikalnych parków rzeźb w mieście, Vigeland Park lub Ekeberparken.  To znajdująca się tutaj biblioteka Deichman Bjørvika została uznana za jedną z najpiękniejszych bibliotek na świecie. W Ogrodzie Botanicznym można odwiedzić pierwszy Dom Klimatyczny w Skandynawii i obejrzeć wystawy poświęcone klimatowi i zmianom klimatycznym.  Na jesieni 2021 roku planowane jest otwarcie nowego Muzeum Muncha, w którym będzie można zobaczyć dzieła najsłynniejszego norweskiego artysty - Edvarda Muncha. Zobacz na własne oczy kultowe obrazy, takie jak „Krzyk”, „Dziewczyny na moście” i „Madonna”. Aby odbyć fascynującą podróż w czasie, odwiedź Muzeum Łodzi Wikingów, Muzeum Kon-Tiki i Norweskie Muzeum Historii Kultury.

2. FLAM – MALOWNICZA WIOSKA PRZY FIORDZIE

Mała wioska Flam znajduje się na najgłębszym brzegu Aurlandsfjordu, otoczonym wąskimi dolinami, stromymi górami i grzmiącymi wodospadam.  Podróż koleją Flam (Flamsbana) została nazwana przez „Lonely Planet” najbardziej niesamowitą podróżą pociągiem na świecie. Wszystko za sprawą malowniczej i zapierającej dech w piersiach trasie podróży. Podczas 20-kilometrowej jazdy pociągiem, która prowadzi z Flam przez fiord na szczyt gór, można zobaczyć głębokie wąwozy, wodospady spływające kaskadami po stromych zboczach, pokryte śniegiem góry i  farmy znajdujące się u ich stóp.  Z Flam można wybrać się na piesze wędrówki po pobliskich górach lub zwiedzić fiord Aurlandsfjord i Nærøyfjord. Nærøyfjord jest wpisany na słynną Listę Światowego Dziedzictwa UNESCO i jest najwęższym fiordem na świecie - w pewnym momencie ma tylko 250 metrów szerokości.

W Bergen odwiedzisz jedne z najlepszych muzeów rzemiosła, designu i muzyki w kraju - Muzea sztuki KODE i domy kompozytorów. Ponadto Bergen jest miastem stanowiącym bramę do niektórych z najsłynniejszych fiordów takich jak Sognefjordu, Hardangerfjordu i Trolltunga.     Zapewne nie raz wiedziałeś wpisane na Listę Światowego Dziedzictwa UNESCO wybrzeże hanzeatyckie w Bergen, które jest pozostałością czasów, gdy to miejsce stanowiło centrum handlu pomiędzy Norwegią i innymi europejskimi krajami. Dziś znajdziesz tu muzeum, galerie, restauracje i sklepy.    Jeśli jesteś smakoszem ryb i owoców morza, z pewnością zaciekawi się wizyta na targu rybnym, który od 1276 roku dostarcza mieszkańcom świeżo złowionych przysmaków. Nic więc dziwnego, że świeże owoce morza to podstawa kuchni Bergen. 

4. GEIRANGERFJORD – NAJSŁYNNIEJSZY FIORD

Tego najsłynniejszego norweskiego fiordu, nie trzeba chyba nikomu przedstawiać. Błękitne wody fiordu, zasilane przez liczne wodospady spływające po stromych zboczach gór wpisane zostały na Listę Światowego Dziedzictwa UNESCO w 2005 roku. Unikalna formacja tego obszaru powstała w ciągu kilku następujących po sobie zlodowaceń, kiedy to lodowce rzeźbiły głębokie fiordy i ukształtowały wysokie góry.   Dla miłośników przyrody Geirangerfjord ma do zaoferowania wycieczki krajoznawcze w formie pieszych wędrówek, ale także spływów kajakowych. 

5. ANDALSNES – GÓRSKA STOLICA

Znane z wysokich szczytów i długiej historii wspinaczki, miasto Andalsnes w północnej części kraju jest domem dla klejnotów, takich jak Ściana Troli (Trollveggen), grzbiet Romsdalseggen i Norweski Szlak Krajobrazowy Geiranger-Trollstigen. Będąc tutaj, zacznij od wędrówki na wysokość 550 m n.p.m. do platformy widokowej Rampestreken. Szlak wiodący do platformy został częściowo zbudowany przez nepalskich Szerpów. Z kolei podążając kamiennymi schodami Romsdalstrappa dotrzesz na szczyt góry Nesaksla (708 metrów nad Romsdalsfjordem), z tego miejsca będziesz mógł delektować się zapierającym dech w piersiach panoramicznym widokiem na okolicę. Niektórych może zdziwić, że w okolicach miasta znajduje się najbardziej wysunięta na północ winnica na świecie - Vingarden Tuen. Któż nie chciałby degustować lokalnego wina w tak majestatycznych okolicznościach przyrody.  Andalsnes to nie tylko miejsce przeznaczone pieszym wędrówkom. Wraz ze zmianą pory roku i spadkiem temperatur miasto zamienia się w zimową krainę i mekkę miłośników narciarstwa.

6. TRONDHEIM – KORONACYJNE MIASTO

Trondheim jest trzecim co do wielkości miastem w Norwegii. Tutaj możesz wybrać się na spacer brukowanymi uliczkami by odkryć słynne atrakcje, takie jak katedra Nidaros i Pałac Arcybiskupa. Możesz też skosztować lokalnych smakołyków w wielu wspaniałych restauracjach. Miasto intensywnie inwestuje w lokalnie produkowaną żywność i napoje, dzięki czemu podróżujący mają okazję skosztować nowych smaków, których nie sposób znaleźć nigdzie indziej.   Katedra Nidaros (Nidarosdomen) w centrum miasta z pewnością zaimponuje Ci swoim wyglądem, a jej historia sprawia, że jest niezwykle popularnym celem pielgrzymek w Europie. Nidarosdomen jest najbardziej wysuniętą na północ średniowieczną katedrą na świecie, przy czym służy również  jako norweski kościół koronacyjny.  Jeśli lubisz wycieczki po muzeach, w mieście ich nie brak. Do najsłynniejszych należą Muzeum Sztuki w Trondheim, Narodowe Muzeum Sztuki Dekoracyjnej i Wzornictwa (Nordenfjeldske Kunstindustrimuseum) oraz Pałac Arcybiskupi (Erkebispegarden) . Nieco innym ale równie ciekawym jest Muzeum Rockheim poświęcone muzyce popularnej. 

7. LOFOTY - DZIKIE WYSPY NORWEGII

Lofoty znane są z wędkowania, atrakcji przyrodniczych oraz małych wiosek wkomponowanych w krajobraz. Archipelag Lofotów rozciąga się na wzburzonych wodach Morza Norweskiego, daleko za kołem podbiegunowym.  Lofoty otrzymały certyfikat Sustainable Destination – jest to pieczęć aprobaty przyznawana destynacjom, które działają na rzecz zmniejszenia negatywnego wpływu turystyki na środowisko. Obok zapewniania podróżnym wspaniałych wrażeń, miejsce to musi jednocześnie chronić lokalną przyrodę i kulturę, a także wzmacniać wartości społeczne, a przy tym być ekonomicznie opłacalne.    Ze względu na zróżnicowany krajobraz można tu uprawiać piesze wędrówki, wędkowanie,  jazdę na nartach, nurkowanie lub rafting.    Odwiedzając Muzeum Wikingów Lofotr można przenieść się do epoki Wikingów w mgnieniu oka i doświadczyć jej na własnej skórze. To właśnie w Borg archeolodzy odkryli największy dom wikingów, jaki kiedykolwiek znaleziono. 

8. TROMSO - KRAINA ZORZY POLARNEJ

Stolica Arktyki - Tromso, znajduje się w samym środku północnej Norwegii. To tutaj możesz ścigać wzrokiem zorzę polarną, a latem delektować się promieniami słońca nawet o północy! Jeśli Twoje marzenia obejmuje również obserwowanie wielorybów, jest to idealne miejsce dla Ciebie! Podczas podróży, zachęcamy do odwiedzenia Kościoła Tromsdalen, który znany jest również jako Ishavskatedralen (Katedra Arktyczna). Jego budowa została ukończona w 1965 roku. W kościele znajdują się wspaniałe organy, w których dźwięk możesz się wsłuchać podczas koncertów. Organy te zostały zbudowane w 2005 roku przez Gronlundsa Orgelbyggeri i składają się z 2940 piszczałek - najdłuższa mierzy 9,6 m, a najmniejsza zaledwie 5 mm.      Wycieczka do Tromso to idealna okazja by zajrzeć do Polarii i przywitać się z fokami. Polaria to idealne miejsce, aby poznać tajniki życia na Arktyce i dowiedzieć się jak zwierzęta, ludzie, ryby i rośliny żyją obok siebie. Tutaj z bliska spotkasz między innymi foki brodate i foki pospolite, sumy i drobne rekiny, a także poznasz różne gatunki żyjące na dnie oceanu. Nie zapomnij zajrzeć do Muzeum Polarnego, które pielęgnuje historie Tromso i Arktyki. Stałe wystawy znajdujące się w muzeum dotyczą fok, zimowania w pułapkach, historii słynnych traperów, takich jak Henry Rudi, Wanny Wolstad, czy wypraw Fridtjofa Nansena i Roalda Amundsena. Miasto możesz podziwiać również z lotu ptaka za sprawą kolejki linowej na górę Storsteinen, jeśli jednak lubisz piesze wędrówki, możesz na nią wejść pokonując 1200 kamiennych stopni.

9. SVALBARD - NORWESKA PROWINCJA W ARKTYCE

Wyspy Svalbard leżą na Oceanie Arktycznym, w połowie drogi między Norwegią a biegunem północnym i stanowią królestwo niedźwiedzia polarnego. „Svalbard” oznacza „zimne wybrzeża” i po raz pierwszy wspomniano o nim w tekstach islandzkich w XII wieku. Podróżując na wyspę możesz spodziewać się, że znajdziesz tu nietkniętą arktyczną dzicz i wyjątkową przyrodę. Svalbard to kraina wysp z fiordami pokrytymi lodem, strzelistymi górami i rzadką fauną, w tym niedźwiedziami polarnymi. Aid into Gaza increased after Israel killed 7 workers, but groups say they're not celebrating

After Israeli strikes killed seven World Central Kitchen charity workers this month, sparking global outrage, convoys carrying food and supplies have entered northern Gaza for the first time since the start of the war and there has been a slight uptick in aid entering the besieged enclave.  

The increase is “nothing that we’re celebrating,” Ahmed Bayram of the Norwegian Refugee Council charity told NBC News on Sunday. But he said that it was “an indication that diplomatic pressure can work” and that in this case American pressure, in particular, has brought results.

For months, aid agencies have warned that Palestinians in the Gaza Strip were at high risk of famine as children have died of malnutrition and dehydration as Israel has blockaded the densely populated enclave . But last week, the United Nations World Food Program said three convoys carrying food and flour crossed into northern Gaza for the first time since the war began in October through the Erez border crossing in southern Israel. 

The deliveries came in the wake of widespread international condemnation of the deaths of the World Central Kitchen workers , who were killed in a series of Israeli drone strikes on their convoy in central Gaza although their vehicles were clearly marked with the charity’s logo and the team had communicated its movements to the Israeli military. 

President Joe Biden led the criticism from world leaders, saying in a statement on X that he was “outraged and heartbroken” by the deaths of a U.S.-Canada dual citizen, team members from Britain, Australia and Poland and a Palestinian driver. “This conflict has been one of the worst in recent memory in terms of how many aid workers have been killed,” he said, adding that Israel had “not done enough to protect civilians.” 

It also led to rare expressions of contrition from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials, and two senior military officers were removed from their posts after the strikes were found to be in violation of protocol. Three days after the strikes, Israel announced that it was opening the Erez crossing and the Ashdod port to speed deliveries into Gaza.  

David Satterfield, the U.S. special envoy for Middle East humanitarian issues, said at a news conference Monday that as a result of U.S. efforts in the last six months, “the volume of assistance entering into and, most importantly, distributed within Gaza has increased significantly,” but that more aid was needed. 

Data from the U.N. Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and the Egyptian Red Crescent, which manages the transfer of aid through Gaza’s southern border, also shows an uptick in aid. 

Last week, OCHA data showed daily entries near or over 200 trucks a day. Weekly averages in March were around 160, and in February, the monthly average was slightly below 130, according to OCHA data. Before the war, it said, the average was 500 truckloads of aid, including fuel. 

While the U.S., Jordan and several other countries have airdropped aid , experts have told NBC News that they are ineffective because it is difficult to predict where they will land and the supplies rarely reach the most vulnerable. They can also be dangerous because they can fall on people sheltering in the streets or spark stampedes to get to the supplies. World Central Kitchen also delivered almost 200 tons of aid by sea , but it suspended operations after its workers were killed.  

The system for getting trucks into Gaza “is still quite sloppy and a little bit willy-nilly,” Georgios Petropoulos, a senior humanitarian affairs officer for OCHA in Rafah, said Saturday. Sometimes, trucks had been held for hours or turned away because of a single restricted item, he said.

When trucks are able to enter the enclave, Petropoulos said, the roads are in terrible condition and the destruction on the ground slows the delivery of aid. A lack of fuel and working vehicles also hampers the process, he said. 

Mountains of uncollected garbage and rising temperatures add to the misery, he said. “So what we’re facing here is malnutrition and famine on top of a garbage dump,” he said.

Israel has repeatedly denied its forces were obstructing aid from entering Gaza, where health officials say more than 34,000 people have been killed since Oct. 7, when Hamas launched multipronged attacks on Israel that killed 1,200 people. Last month, Israel’s Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories claimed it had placed “ no limit ” on the amount of aid allowed into the Strip. 

However, all aid for Gaza is subject to strict Israeli security checks aimed at preventing anything that Hamas could use from entering.

Speaking Sunday on NBC News’ “Meet the Press,” Bob Kitchen, vice president for emergencies at the New York-based International Rescue Committee aid organization, said it was “going to take a sustained, huge uplift in aid just to catch up” with the amount of aid required for Gaza’s population of 2.3 million people. “It needs to be a tenfold increase to catch up with the needs that we see,” he said.  

“We should have the freedom of movement that we require — and, by law, we enjoy — to distribute aid,” he added. “Everything is needed, and it starts with the fighting stopping.” 

Echoing his calls, Bayram of the Norwegian Refugee Council said more diplomatic pressure is needed to open more crossings, increase the amount of aid into the enclave and ensure the security of aid workers.  

“We are still miles away from that,” he said.

Madonna is wrapping up her current concert tour over the next few days with a trilogy of shows in Mexico City. Prices have been climbing over recent days, so you'll have to be sharp if you want to buy Madonna tickets for these dates while you can for the The Celebration Tour.

Before she takes her final bow of the Celebration Tour concert series in April 2024, Madonna will have performed 52 shows across 27 cities in the US, Canada, and Mexico. While many dates earlier in the tour were available for under $100, these final dates will cost you at least $245 at the time of writing. Still, it's a few grand cheaper than the Swifties have been paying this year.

How much do Madonna tickets cost?

The price for standard original tickets to Madonna's 2024 tour varies depending on date, location, and demand. For example, concert dates in major cities like New York City tend to be more expensive.

Standard original tickets still available on Ticketmaster a few weeks ago  were comparable to prices on verified resale platforms. However, the remaining original tickets have all been snapped up though, so resale vendors are your only hope now.

The Celebration Tour originally had VIP tickets available for premium prices. Madonna's 2024 tour began with the international leg in Europe, so the only remaining concerts in The Celebration Tour outside the United States are in Mexico.

In April, she'll have five performances in Mexico City, where she'll take her final bow of The Celebration Tour on April 26.
