Metallica anuncia nueva gira: 'M72 World Tour' ¡Checa aquí las fechas para México!

Con cada espectáculo "No Repeat Weekend" una experiencia completamente única: dos listas de canciones totalmente diferentes con dos bandas diferentes abriendo el espectáculo cada noche; al mismo tiempo la banda lanzó un nuevo video: Eternal Light, tema de su nuevo álbum.

“Quieres una gira, tenemos una gira… ¿qué tal dos años completos de espectáculos?!?!”, es como anuncia Metallica que tendrá una nueva gira, ‘M72 World Tour’, la cual inicia en 2023 por Europa y Norteamérica; terminará en la Ciudad de México.

La banda de metal estadounidense detalló que a partir de abril de 2023, visitarán 22 ciudades diferentes alrededor del mundo tocando dos noches en cada ciudad; con cada espectáculo “No Repeat Weekend” una experiencia completamente única: dos listas de canciones totalmente diferentes con dos bandas diferentes abriendo el espectáculo cada noche. “Compre un boleto de dos días y no verá la misma canción dos veces para un total de más de 30 canciones que abarcan nuestros más de 40 años de tener la suerte de hacer música. La mayoría de los espectáculos (lo siento, no todos, ¡lo intentamos!) serán los viernes y domingos, por lo que nos aseguraremos de tener muchos eventos extracurriculares para que pases el rato con otros fanáticos de Metallica antes de que comiencen los espectáculos”, dijeron los músicos a través de su página oficial.

El grupo estadounidense de thrash metal hará este tour centrado en su nuevo álbum 72 Seasons, el cual se publicará el 14 de abril de 2023 con 12 temas.

Este trabajo llega seis años después de  ‘Hardwired… to Self-Destruct’  y es el duodécimo álbum de estudio de su carrera, producido por Greg Fidelman junto a los miembros de la banda Lars Ulrich y James Hetfield.

La gira M72 World Tour comenzará el 27 y 29 de abril de 2023 en Ámsterdam y pasará por 22 ciudades más, entre ellas París (17 y 19 de mayo de 2023), Hamburgo (26 y 28 de mayo de 2023), Múnich (24 y 26 de mayo de 2024), Madrid (12 y 14 de julio de 2024),Chicago (9 y 11 de agosto de 2024) y cierra en la Ciudad de México en septiembre de 2024 con cuatro conciertos en el Foro Sol:

-20 y 27 de septiembre: con Greta Van Fleet y Mammoth WVH como teloneros.

-22 y 29 de septiembre con Five Finger Death Punch y Ice Nine Kills.

Además, un porcentaje de cada entrada será para la fundación de Metallica All Within My Hands, la cual busca ayudar a la creación de comunidades sostenibles basadas en la educación y la lucha contra el hambre; el precio aún no se ha revelado.

La banda estrenó, al mismo tiempo en que anunció esta nueva gira, el video de la canción, Eternal Light que forma parte de su más reciente producción que será disponible por completo el 14 de abril.

Electrifying as ever with their incredible performance and stage presence, the members of Metallica delivered the goods and more last night with a nice cross section of numbers running the gamut of their colossal catalog! There were occasional pauses to interact and converse with the crowd, but the band segued their way into one song after another the majority of the evening. The night opened up with an intro of the Ecstasy of Gold followed by the title cut off of the band's latest effort Hard Wired to Self Destruct. James Hetfield's vocals were as strong as ever from beginning to end. Kirk Hammett engaged in one brain crushing guitar solo after another, Lars Ulrich brought a great and almost nonstop back beat with his furious drumming and Rob Trujillo provided excellent bass work including a great treatment of the solo the late Cliff Burton was well known for on Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth). During the aforementioned bass solo video footage of Burton performing onstage accented the music perfectly. Other exceptional highlights included Kirk's stellar guitar shredding accompanied frequently by usage of his wah pedal. Cuts such as Welcome Home (Sanitarium), Creeping Death and the encore Enter Sandman in particular contained solos showcasing his seemingly boundless talent! Things heated up literally as well during the songs Fight Fire with Fire and Sandman when pyrotechnics were activated and flames shot up from the stage. At the end Ulrich tossed sticks out into the audience. Hetfield, Trujillo and Hammett threw and shook picks from little jack o' lantern tins out into the crowd, the picks of which boasting the band logo as well as the theatre's location and concert date on them. Great souvenirs in even something so small right there as my husband and I each scooped one up off the floor! A grand night out, the next one of which cannot come soon enough!

The impatient wait had been going on for months - I booked this show when tickets went on sale back in March or whenever it was, and October had take so long to come around - but finally it was here: Metallica day!

The day started with a trip to the pop-up merch store in London, then onto the O2 for an agonising queue (good thing it's what us Brits do best, apart from moan about it of course) before finally getting in and finding my seat - which, by pure luck, was a superb view. Again, what felt like days, but in reality was only 30-40 mins wait, the lights dimmed, the background music shut off, and the familiar notes of the intro track, "The Ecstasy of Gold", complete with video footage from "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly", began to ring out, to rapturous roaring and whistling from the 20,000 strong crowd. The hairs on my arms are standing on end just recounting it for this review. And then we were in: full-bore, 100mph, Metallica took to the stage and belted out song after song after song with barely a moment to catch your breath before the next does of thrash metal came your way. "Thrash metal?", I hear you say, "Metallica hasn't been thrash metal since the 80's!". Oh my friend, trust me when I say thrash metal - we had some of the best early work represented tonight, not least with half a dozen track from the new album "Hardwired... To Self Destruct" that included unrelenting riff after riff, from the likes of "Hardwired", "Atlas Rise", "Moth Into Flame", coupled with one of the heaviest tracks they've ever written "Dream No More", plus "Halo on Fire" and "Now That We're Dead". All segmented in-between some of the bands greatest songs; "Seek & Destroy", "Through The Never", "Welcome Home (Sanitarium)", "For Whom The Bell Tolls", "Through The Never", "One", "Sad But True", "Fuel", the obligatory cover, this time from the Misfits' "Die Die My Darling", before ending the show with "Master of Puppets".

Of course, it wasn't the end - back for the encore the intro to "Damage Inc" came on, before they ripped all the way through it, eventually slowing the pace to play the ever-loved "Nothing Else Matters" and finally ending on probably their most well known song "Enter Sandman"

It was a great varied selection of tunes that spans most of their career - the only notable exceptions being there was nothing from "Load", "St Anger" or the previous record "Death Magnetic". But otherwise all the other studio albums were represented. Some guitar and bass doodles from Kirk and Rob, before Rob gave us a wonderful tribute to Cliff by playing "Anesthesia".

If you get the chance to go, then go see this show - it's truly magnificent, from a band with 36 years experience in being the biggest metal band on the planet, and it shows you just why they are. I just wish I had a ticket for tomorrow night too.

2nd September show in Cobenhagen.

Tallica promised us a unique show because this concert was postponed show from February. Many people travel a long way to see them in February including me traveling from Iceland.

The moment when I heard Seek & Destory in the #3rd slot then I knew this was going to be something special.

They performed Thought The Never in slot #4 and that song has not been played for 4 years. The next song was The Day That Never Comes and we did not believe that because in our wildest dreams we hoped to have that on the list, we jumped like there was no day tomorrow.

Dream No More was in the slot #7 and that was the second time Metallica has played that song. It was nice to hear Breadfan in slot #10. We saw many drons flying over the stage in Moth Into Flame, which was amazing!

Fight Fire With Fire was in the encore faster than ever.

Me and my friends walked away from Royal Arena in great mood with a big smile on our faces and with a hoarse throut, like James was in February.

About the unique show as we where promised in February it was only UNIQUE for 2 days because Amsterdam got almost the same setlist. But we got a free T-shirt, that was probably the unique thing for us.

We where hoping for some live debut like Murder One, Spit Out The Bones but it did not happend.

The song ManUnkind was performed tonight in Paris (10th September) and that is unique.

Iceland has been waiting since 2004 for Metallica to come back to Iceland when they held the biggest indore concert in Reykjavík. We do not want to wait another 23 years like we did before 2004.

Metallica anunció su gira de conciertos por Sudamérica

Tres importantes países de la región no fueron tenidos en cuenta por la legendaria banda..

Metallica , la banda estadunidense liderada por James Hetfield, volverá a los escenarios y lo más esperado es que pisen territorio sudamericano, pero los únicos afortunados serán Chile, Argentina y Brasil, la icónica banda no visita a Colombia desde el 2016, sus fans estaban esperando un reencuentro, que al parecer habrá que esperar más.

Recordemos que Metallica es una banda estadounidense de thrash metal, originaria de Los Ángeles, fundada en 1981 por Lars Ulrich y James Hetfield, a los que se les unirían Dave Mustaine y Ron McGovney. Estos dos músicos fueron sustituidos por el guitarrista Kirk Hammett y el bajista Cliff Burton, desde febrero de 1983 su base fue en San Francisco, California.

Más adelante, Ron McGovney renuncia por el mal comportamiento de Dave, ya que este último tenía problemas con el alcohol y su comportamiento no era el adecuado, y fue sustituido tras la vuelta de Cliff. Burton muere en un accidente de tránsito el 27 de septiembre de 1986, lo que provocó la entrada al grupo de Jason Newsted, quien abandonó la banda quince años más tarde, Robert Trujillo de orígenes mexicanos sería su sustituto .

Los shows originales estaban programados para abril de 2020, pero fueron suspendidos dos veces a causa de la pandemia por COVID-19 y posteriormente programados para diciembre del mismo año, en el cual por segunda vez que fue suspendido.

Hace unos días la famosa banda publicó en su cuenta de Instagram el cartel de la gira por Sudamérica, en ella agregaron:

“¡SUDAMERICA! Las fechas de gira reprogramadas que estabas esperando finalmente están establecidas. Tocaremos en seis shows con paradas en Chile, Argentina y Brasil en abril y mayo de 2022.”

Para los que ya habían comprado las boletas y estaban preocupados, el grupo les hizo saber que eran afortunados, agregaron en el post: “Si tenía boletos para las fechas originales, agárrelos, serán honrados. Obtenga más información en Metallica.com”.

A la gira que vuelve a Sudamérica por primera vez en cinco años los acompañara Greta Van Fleet como el acto principal de apertura.

La gira comenzará en el 2022, exactamente el primer concierto será el 27 de abril en Santiago, Chile; el 30 de abril será en Buenos Aires, Argentina; después tendrán cuatro shows en Brasil, el 5 de mayo en Porto Alegre, el 7 de mayo en Curitiba, el 20 de mayo en Sao Paulo y cierran la gira el 12 de mayo en Belo Horizonte.

M72 World Tour

We told you about our new album 72 Seasons , so what’s next now that we’ve escaped the studio? Hit the road, of course! You want a tour, we’ve got a tour... how about two full years worth of shows?!?!

Over the past few years, we have been so inspired by the dedication and family/community vibe of the fans who traveled to San Francisco for our recent weekend celebrations, first in 2019 with the two S&M2 shows, followed by last year’s 40th Anniversary shows. On top of that, we had a blast being a part of the 2021 Wimmer Festivals when we played two nights in one city, each with a totally different setlist. With all of that in mind, the M72 tour was born!

Starting in April of 2023, we’ll be visiting 22 different cities around the world and playing two nights in each city, with each “No Repeat Weekend” show a completely unique experience: Two totally different set lists with two different bands opening the show each night! Purchase a two-day ticket, and you won’t see the same song twice for a total of over 30 songs spanning our 40+ years of being lucky enough to make music. Most of the shows (sorry, not all - we tried!) will be on Fridays and Sundays, so we’ll be sure to have lots of extracurricular events for you to hang with fellow Metallica fans at before the shows kick-off and on the Saturday night in between.

Presented worldwide by Liquid Death and Blackened American Whiskey (in North America only), and brought to you by our friends at Live Nation, the M72 tour also launches a completely different look for us in stadiums – we’ll be in the round in the middle of the field. On top of that, the Snake Pit has been relocated to the center of the stage so that fans there will have a complete 360 view of the show. Each weekend offers a variety of Enhanced Experiences , ranging from access to a meet and greet, production and stage tour, food and beverage in the “Black Box” lounge to early entry into the venue and the aforementioned Snake Pit. The very popular “Black Laminate” is back, now known as the “I Disappear Ticket,” and is the ultimate pass for the fan who wants to run away with us for multiple weekends. Metallica ha dado el puntapié inicial a su esperado tour mundial «M72», y los fanáticos no podrían estar más emocionados. La banda ha comenzado su gira en el Johan Cruijff Arena en Ámsterdam, Países Bajos, donde han presentado su último y aclamado álbum de estudio. Pero eso no fue todo lo que los asistentes pudieron disfrutar en esta primera noche del tour. Su más reciente álbum: 72 Seasons

El undécimo álbum de estudio de Metallica, titulado «72 Seasons», fue lanzado el 14 de abril de 2023 por Blackened Recordings, su propio sello discográfico. La producción estuvo a cargo del reconocido productor Greg Fidelman, quien previamente trabajó en su álbum «Hardwired… to Self-Destruct» (2016). Este es el segundo álbum de la banda que se publica a través de Blackened, y los fans están emocionados por este nuevo lanzamiento.

El origen de «72 Seasons»
