Rapsody Says Kendrick Lamar Was More Strategic In Drake Battle: “You Gotta Study The Art Of War”

Rapsody believes that Kendrick Lamar reigned victorious in his battle with Drake due to not only being the superior lyricist, but the better strategist among the two rap stars.

On Monday (May 13), the North Carolina rapper appeared on the Joe Budden Podcast and weighed in on the back-and-forth between Lamar and Drake, which has spawned several diss records and captivated the music world over several weeks.

According to Rapsody, Drake was ill-prepared to withstand Kendrick’s onslaught of diss tracks, which ranged from brooding conceptual fare to radio-friendly hits.

“It was so smart,” Rapsody told Budden and company. “Drake, he swung back. I didn’t think it was enough. But he swung back. I wasn’t mad at the swings. But whatever he could’ve said, Kendrick was so strategic. He swallowed that sh*t up so fast because he responded so fast. And then he hit you with a banger.”

The Grammy Award nominee continued, rejecting any notion that Kendrick ever felt hesitant to lyrically engage with Drake. “It’s just tough,” she said of the mental and tactical warfare that goes into a rap battle. “You gotta study the art of war. You have to. Everybody like, ‘He got three weeks.’ I was like, ‘He in there cooking over and over and over again.”

“The boy has been performing at this level a long time… What you thought he was in there shivering? He was in there like a mad dog,” she added.

Rapsody also shunned rap critics and pundits pressuring artists to quickly release a response when slighted on wax, pointing to Nas’ 2001 track, “Ether,” his scathing retort to JAY-Z. “‘Takeover’ came over Sept. 11, and Nas responded [with “Ether”] two, three months later, on his birthday. What are we talking about [a] clock?”

The 41-year-old noted that Lamar moves at his own pace and is unconcerned with online opinions. “The boy don’t be on social media, he don’t care about that,” Rapsody said of trolls lurking across the web and elsewhere. “He cut from the cloth, ‘ain’t no rules, when I come out, I’ma come out, that’s all you need to know about. And be ready.’ He wasn’t ready. That’s how you lose battles .”

Ski Bansko - Niš 2024

Bansko je najbolji ski centar u Bugarskoj sa najdužim ski stazama i najbogatijom kulturnom istorijom. Grad Bansko se nalazi u jugozapadnoj Bugarskoj u podnožju planine Pirin. Mesto leži na nadmorskoj visini od 925 m i udaljeno je od Sofije 160, a od Blagoevgrada 96 km. Grad Bansko je deo nacionalnog parka Pirin koji je od 1983. pod zaštitom UNESCO-a. Skijalište je udaljeno 12 km od samog mesta i nalazi se na severnim padinama planine Pirin. Ski centar se prostire na visini do 2,600 metara nadmorske visine. Ukupna dužina ski staza iznosi 70 km. Pored staza za alpsko skijanje tu je i 12km staza za skijaško trčanje. Iz mesta do podnožja skijališta na platou Banderiška Poljana vozi osmosedežna gondola. Ovo mesto ima preko pedeset barova, mehana i klubova koji nude zabavnu atmosferu svako veče. Ljubitelji dobre hrane ovde mogu da uživaju u tradicionalnim jelima u nekom od velikog broja restorana.

Aranžman je rađen na bazi minimuma od 45 putnika, a rok za otkazivanje od strane agencije je 7 dana pre početka putovanja.

Fakultativni izleti se organizuju od strane lokalne turističke agencije. Organizator putovanja nije u stanju da kontroliše kvalitet izvođenja fakultativnih izleta i prema Opštim uslovima putovanja nije odgovoran za njihovo izvođenje, te je putnik saglasan da sve svoje eventualne reklamacije i primedbe uputi direktno, na licu mesta, lokalnom organizatoru putovanja! Cene svih fakultativnih (neobaveznih) izleta su izražene u EVRIMA ili lokalnoj valuti, a rezervacija i uplate se vrše predstavniku agencije tokom samog putovanja. U cenu svakog fakultativnog izleta je uključena ulaznica, prevoz autobusom tour-operatora i lokalni vodič. U slučaju promena na monetarnom tržištu ili tržištu roba i usluga ili nedovoljnog broja prijavljenih putnika, agencija zadržava pravo korekcije cene, izmene programa putovanja ili otkaza putovanja.

Putnici koji nisu državljani Srbije u obavezi su da se sami upoznaju sa viznim režimom, zemlje u koju putuju kao i zemalja kroz koje prolaze. Agencija ne snosi odgovornost u slučaju da pogranične vlasti onemoguće putniku ulaz na teritoriju EU.

Trying to tell the amy winehouse story, 'back to black' leaves audiences in the dark.

Stop me if you've heard this one before: There's a new biopic about a famed musician. It's not great. But the actor who plays the musician is.

Like "Bohemian Rhapsody," "Get On Up," "Elvis" and too many others, "Back to Black" has a difficult time making sense of the performer at its center, Amy Winehouse (who, like Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin, only had 27 years on this Earth). There are reasons for this: A person's life lends itself more to the arc of a TV miniseries than a two-hour movie, which inevitably crams in so much that it's like a photo album without the captions. But a dynamic performer such as Winehouse or Freddie Mercury is always going to give an actor tons of flashy stuff to work with.

Marisa Abela, who plays a spoiled little rich girl/stock trader on HBO's "Industry," is the talented actor in "Back to Black," which skips childhood to give us Winehouse's life from being discovered as a teenager to her death less than a decade later. Winehouse's slurry, growly voice is imitable, and Abela, who does her own singing, nails it. The performance scenes, and there are lots of them, are unquestionably the highlights of "Black."

Another asset is the great Lesley Manville, who was an Oscar nominee for "The Phantom Thread," as Winehouse's grandmother. The freshest element of "Black" is learning how much Winehouse doted on her nan, a former jazz singer whom the movie has Amy describing as "my style icon." Lots of tragic things happen in "Black" but the one moving scene is simply grandmother and granddaughter, in a park, silently grappling with the bad news that nan is dying.

It's too bad screenwriter Matt Greenhalgh didn't opt to keep Manville around longer (elsewhere, he's quite willing to monkey with the facts, as in a scene where a boyfriend supposedly introduces Winehouse to the Shangri-Las, a '60s band she knew and loved in real life). Manville's quiet strength and warmth are missed when she's no longer in "Black," although, come to think of it, that does jibe with the movie's argument that Winehouse began to fall apart when she lost her grandmother.

One roadblock for biopics is legal rights (or not) to the stories of subsidiary people in the star's life. Winehouse's former husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, and father, Mitch, are very much alive and, not coincidentally, come off better in "Black" than they did in news accounts or in the Oscar-winning documentary "Amy."

As a result of trying to make silk purses out of those sow's ears, "Black" skips crucial developments and obscures others. Winehouse's relationship with her husband was important, coinciding with the peak of her brief career, but the movie sheds no light on what they were to each other and it bends over backward to make Mitch (played by Eddie Marsan) look as blameless as possible when the subject of getting alcohol-addicted Amy into rehab is broached.

Success came early and easily to Winehouse. There has to be a story there, too, but "Black" doesn't tell it — good friend Mark Ronson, who produced the breakthrough album that gives the movie its title, is mentioned once but never depicted. As a result, the movie leaves you with more questions than answers.

The good news is that you'll find many answers in the excellent, aforementioned "Amy."
