Located in central Kiev, this hotel was perfect if you want to base yourself centrally. About a 7min walk to Maiden metro station or 7mins to khreshchatyk metro station. There is a shopping mall just directly across the hotel which is about a 2min walk, and down at the basement you have an assortment of fast food joints if you don't want to pay hotel priced food (which isn't really that expensive anyway compared to Western standards). The buffet breakfast was freaking awesome - it had everything under the roof - Eastern European style. All the staff spoke good English and generally patient. I found Ukrainians to be quite rude sometimes, especially those in the service industry, but these guys were ok. Wifi was very quick and reliable which is always a bonus for travelers. Rooms were a bit dated, but honestly, who the heck cares. I travel to see the city and country, not to stay in the hotel all day.

I've stayed at several hotels in Kiev and this one stands out for being very friendly, efficient and having well maintained rooms. If you don't want to use the metro getting to the city center, make sure you plan your visits there by taxi with a lot of extra time in case of heavy traffic

Located outside of the downtown Kiev core but very near subway station. Easy access to Khreschatik area within 5 subway stops. Good breakfast, large rooms. Fairly service in general and very attentive staff. Hotel is located 1 subway stop from the main Expo-Centre.

Right in maidan square. Five minutes walk to the beautiful churches is St Michael's, St Sophia's, and St Andrew's. OK for short stay. Too could do with a bit if a spruce up but it was clean. Kiev is an interesting, although crowded city. Very cheap prices.

Great place to stay if you're into the architecture - a very cool unique building that was a great base for seeing Kiev. Inside things are pretty basic, but good value all in all. Well decorated rooms. Very comfortable. Our room had a lovely little balcony where we enjoyed our coffee in the mornings. Walking distance to the Bessarabka Market. Friendly staff with good suggestions of local restaurants. They also allowed us to store our luggage for most of the day as our flight leaving Kiev was quite late.

Anyway, if you are looking for a clean place, with proper security (cameras and in room safety boxes, friendly English speaking staff, enough toilets and bathrooms for everyone, everything functioning, no run down, depressing interiors and none of the bizarre and strict rules, some of the other "hostels" have, and for a reasonable price, then I highly recommend this place. They even have a sign so you can actually find the hostel. After having stayed at a really crappy place and searching through endless other hostels, trying to find one that didn't suffer from utter mismanagement, or inflated prices, I was so happy to find ZigZag Hostel.

The Z Hostel is a good hostel for backpacking and travelling thru. As mentioned in the title, you are most welcome to come and sleep, just don't do anything else. You cannot bring your own alcohol (the cafetaria isn't a warm place to be anyway), you cannot have more than one bowl of breakfast grub or wash your hands if the cleaning lady is working the shower area. For all the rest it is a great hostel; good beds, safety, kind yet reserved staff, functioning lockers and good toilets / showers. The onlyissue I found, as an English speaker, is that the staff hardly speaks any. And when in doubt, they will say 'Njet' ('No'). When I needed a taxi and asked the one English speaking woman if it was possible to arrange one (+ cost / time / quality?), she managed to explain to me that it was possible. Yet when I also found an Uber option, she became quite upset because I didn't do it her way (or I was bothering her with unnecessary questions?). These things happen bc of the language barrier.

I wasn’t happy overall with this property as. a foreign taveller.. the physical address was quoted as 129 On the street and ii walked into what I thought was the building and walked up alll the flights of stairs whilst carrying small backpack and large suitcase only to realise that ithe hotel is next door underneath the street level. The lady who was running and managing it, spoke no English at all. I was grateful for her patience and understanding and i was given this tiny single room for 380UAH. It was too overpriced to really any more than one night. Outside my door in a cramped rabbit warren hall space, I was greeted by paramedics with a very drunken customer who was staying there. Locale was good for the main train station as one night was all that I recommend as I could barely get into the room. Smallest room ever. I didn’t have my clothes washed as I didn’t feel safe. I wouldn’t recommend this room in future unless your short of time - it’s a miss for me.

The rooms were EXTREMELY HOT so it was annoying that it would be turned off. So you paid for a AC dorm that was turned off at night time We stayed in 3/4 rooms available. (There for 1 week) and the private room with AC was the only good value for money. We paid the same for the small private room with no AC that was so hot we couldn’t sleep. The power also went out for a full day and the water in the shower was the worst I’ve ever had. Sometimes I would have to sit and wait 5-10 minutes with soap and shampoo all over me to wait for it to come back on as it would just turn off. This happened 3 times. Great location though

Hotel was in a good location in the heart of Kiev. The breakfast was great with a variety of different options served buffet style. The room was clean and the staff was friendly. I purchased the room at a 50% discount which was more in line with what the hotel had to offer. Overall, my stay was good and I would purchase again at the discounted rate.

Staff and owner is very very good people that help you in your stay. Location is excellent in Kiev. Very small and family business hostel. Small kitchen and resting area. Beds are very hasitate to moving that make noise and they are very simple. I stay 10 people room, it is small.

It's far from the downtown and far from the subway. But I have chosen this hotel because of location cause my destination was very close to it. It was cold in the room but the hotel staff provided us with two blankets. One girl at the reception wasn't kind and didn't smile. The rest was ok.

Hotel Dnipro was a perfect choice for me as a single traveler. Although it was nothing fancy, it was clean and very reasonably priced. Sitting in the middle of the city, it is a two-minute walk to the subway and 4-minute walk to the mall. Attached to (but not owned) by the hotel is a 24-hour cafe, which was very convenient. The complimentary breakfast every morning included egg dishes, potatoes, coffee, fruit, pastries and cereal. All in all, a very good package. I did not visit the spa or the twelfth floor restaurant. If I do return to Kiev in the future, I will definitely book with Hotel Dnipro.

It is Hard to find maybe for a foreigner but you can go to city center and airport easily with 1 transportation quiete and clean Google it for locations

You could be confused with pictured and location, but the hotel really exists and looks like on pictures. After close look you can see that cheap materials and quality of furniture. But it's clean and stuff is friendly. So best option in this location.

we arrived at 3.30 am, nur it was no Problem. The kindly woman that works there, does everything for us (breakfast, Taxi...). The room was enough and really comfortable! Really recommend this place! It's perfect when you have to change from airport kiew zschuljani to Borispol, like in our case.

I am going always to this lovely hotel when ever I travel to kiev , this hotel in very good location and quiet place and it is very clean and very good condition comper to all 4 stars hotel in kiev , and the mat important that staff are very nice and lovely and friendly and very helpful :)

Nothing real was good exept one lady who was helfull otherwise for the first time in Kiev I never enjoyed my time.

It takes 30 min from Int’l Airport by Car. Shopping mall is connetced. But it is small. If you go to Kiev for tour. Do not recommend this hotel. It takes 20 min by taxi or Uber. Hotel staffs were very frendly. Free wifi. Good Breakfast.

Great location and people, it was impeccably clean here. The beds were small here, though it was a very very good stay all in all.

The location of the hotel was great, with easy access to the metro and nearby amenities. The view from the room was stunning, especially the distant skyline. Another positive aspect was the affordable price of the hotel, which was perfect for a budget traveler like myself.

There were some major downsides to my stay at this hotel. Even after upgrading to a higher rate for a queen bed, it was still uncomfortable and I even suspect that one of the beds had been urinated on.

The hotel is conveniently located right next to the metro station, making it easy to get around the city. It is also not far from the main airport, which is great for business travelers. With just a few stops on the metro, you can reach the main squares and other attractions in the city. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly, offering great service. The rooms are cozy and have beautiful views of the city. The hotel also provides fast WiFi and the option to adjust the room temperature with an electric heater.

The lack of an electric kettle in the room was a small inconvenience.

I liked location and staff, they were very good. The room was cheap with original bathroom from 30-40 years or so and had a refrigerator, central heating and a work desk. I ate at a nice restaurant.

The economy double room was functional with air conditioning, amazing views, nice view.

Staff friendly and helpful. Easy access to city center. Convenient location near subway. Good cleaning service. Efficient maids.

Thank you very much all for a really nice stay for a long time. The location was marvellous, not too far away from Magdeburg Right Column. An underground station was next to the venue, I enjoyed it.

We had a fantastic stay at this hotel. The cleanliness of the rooms was impressive, and the hotel facilities were top-notch. The location right next to the metro station was incredibly convenient, allowing us to easily explore the city. Additionally, the staff were friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome throughout our stay.

The hotel had a central location and it was just a walk down to Komod Shopping Centre. Lobby bar was lovely and reasonably priced. It was surely a fairly nice stay at the same time.

The room I stayed in at Tourist Hotel Complex had a fantastic view towards the central area of the city. The staff were very friendly and always took the time to offer helpful advice and suggestions. The hotel's proximity to the metro link made it incredibly convenient to travel into the city quickly.

This hotel is situated in a residential area just outside the city centre, but the location couldn't be more convenient. It is right next door to the metro station, making it easily accessible from all parts of the city. The fact that the hotel is located in a quieter area means that you can enjoy a peaceful stay away from the hustle and bustle of the city center.
