The Blue Safari has been designed for guests willing to navigate in front of the Perito Moreno Glacier and enjoy being very close to the ice. After walking for about 30 minutes, always with a view of the southern side of the glacier just in case there were thunderous ice calvings, and after reaching the ice, you’ll have an unforgettable experience. At that point, you’ll also enjoy different and intense shades of blue and white colors, with capricious forms.
Guests will have enough time to take pictures and afterwards return to the embarking point accompanied by our experienced guide. You’ll enjoy an hour-and-a-half walk along a natural surface of sand and stones, with some slopes and stairs. You’ll walk about 1.5 kilometers by the coast of the lake and through a greenwood with a view to the Perito Moreno Glacier.
Finally, you’ll embark on the ship to enjoy, from the water and at only some meters away, every detail of the marbled side of the glacier. The Safari Azul is carried out in a natural environment, so weather conditions and the glacier and its surroundings change every day.

Nativo Experience – Dinner
The Nativo Experience – Dinner tour is a medium-duration activity in which you travel in 4×4 vehicles along the coast of the Argentinian Lake within the ‘Estancia 25 de Mayo’ Nature Reserve , being ideal for the day of arrival or departure from El Calafate. The excursion offers an anthropological and historical approach to the passage of man through the land, rediscovering the experiences of the first expeditions that ventured into the unknown through the Santa Cruz River and Argentinian Lake .
Nativo Experience focuses on the history of the first contacts of explorers with the Tehuelches (native indigenous people of the area), crossing cliffs and marveling at views of the Argentinian Lake and the Andes Mountains . After being picked up from your hotel in El Calafate in 4×4 vehicles, you will head towards the ‘Estancia 25 de Mayo’ where you will make your first stop on the shores of the lake. There, the native flora and fauna will be interpreted and an explanation on glaciology and geology will be given.
The second stop will be at the cliffs in front of the lake from where you will have magnificent views of the surroundings and the Andes Mountains.
Finally, at the third stop, we will visit the archaeological zone where the caves are located. There you will be able to appreciate rock art through paintings in the caves on the shores of the lake, where thousands of years ago the Tehuelche culture left its marks that we can interpret. It’s there, inside the cave, where you will have dinner enjoying a unique experience in a totally natural environment that will transport you to those remote years of the first explorers. At night, you can enjoy one of the 10 best skies in the world to appreciate the stars. After the tour and lunch, you will return to your hotel in El Calafate.
Normal menu: Pumpkin soup, lamb casserole, chocolate mousse, drink included. Vegetarian menu: Pumpkin soup, vegetable casserole, chocolate mousse, drink included. *Choose menu in order notes. Ex: 2 normal menu + 2 vegetarian menu

I spent 2 hours just watching the ice and waiting till the collpase. It was freezing (2 C) but I loved it! I need to come back again! Read more Written January 27, 2024
- 43argentinat 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles The highlight of our 3 week trip in Argentina We rented a car and were able to take our time at each spot we stopped throughout the park. We took the boat tour to touch the glacier and I am glad we took the time to do that. The boardwalks were amazing and we will all the ones that were open which I think were the blue, green and orange. With each step and angle you see something different. It was a full 9 hour day at the park for us. We took our own food as there was only a snack bar open when we were there. Read more Written October 14, 2023
- BruceM147 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles In our top ten walks--in the world. But take this approach! When Covid finally allowed us to go to Patagonia, the Fitz Roy walks were our first five-night stop. We chose shoulder season to reduce the crowds and were blessed with perfect weather. There were enough trails to easily accommodate our good luck. As for the walk to Fitz Roy, we did some reading and chose to start up Rte 40 just past El Pilar at Rio Electric trailhead. (We had a car--highly recommended luxury). This avoided the crowds leaving from out of the town and in our opinion, the much more scenic initial approach. At 70 and 68, we are not destination hikers, but rather seek hikes filled with beauty all along the way. We've walked all over the world, but this ties for first place. The famous peaks and spires, glaciers and their lakes and rivers, lingua forest, river valleys... The last bit is shared with those hiking the out-of-town route and got crowded. It gets you to the lake below the glacier and peaks. A steep up-and-down of one km each way. Worth it for many but an afterthought for us. Read more Written April 7, 2023
- Meghrik A 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles VERY DISORGANIZED. ZERO RESPECT FOR PEOPLE’s TIME AND PLAN. DO NOT RECOMMEND! We all booked this activity for 8 am along with our friend who is traveling with us, and now all of a sudden a day before our trekking activity, they are telling us they will pick us up at 11 am three hours after our friend who is staying in the same hotel with us. After informing them we would need to be picked up at the same time, they refused using the excuse of “The time of your pick up depends on the location of your hotel”, even though we are all staying in the same hotel. We did not fly across the continent and pay more than $600/person for a single day activity to be treated like this. We will be seeking a full refund from TripAdvisor. - kim537 0 contributions 3.0 of 5 bubbles Bus tour Narration good, but bus very crowded and many audio hookups were broken. Actual tour routes very good. Buenos Aires is a huge old city. A problem with tickets was resolved onsite but only because a bystander was kind enough to translate the problem with downloading the ticket. The actual bus personnel were not helpful at all and simply refused us passage. Read more Written February 27, 2020

- A3064DEjulias 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Great way to get a birds eye view of the city Go early! We got to the bus stop first - thank goodness. Behind us was a long line. They only accept Argentine Pesos. Most of the tourists had to find a bank and get Pesos. The top had a small area that is air conditioned. I sat in that part due to the heat and sun and my sister sat on the top without the AC. She got a sunburn but better pics. Be sure to have a hat and sunscreen if you ride on top. We spent 3 hours on the bus for the red and blue routes. Every stop we made there was a long line waiting to get on the bus but we had no room. The audio was poor and after a while we gave up listening to the garble. We did get a great overview of the city. It was a perfect way to see a lot in a short amount of time. We did not have time to do the green route but wished we could have continued. If you have one day or a week in beautiful Buenos Aires, it is worth the time at the beginning of your trip. It helps you get your bearings and you can decide what you want to see up close. Read more Written January 26, 2020

- mcitaly2016 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Ideal to see the city It is a bit expensive, but it gives you enough time and flexibility to see the main spots in this big city, and hop-on and hop-off when you want to see a bit more walking around. There are comments in many languages through the earplug they give you when going on board. The top floor is open. Tickets can be bought when entering the bus at each stop, but you may need cash in local currency. Otherwise you can buy through internet or at bus stop zero. Read more Written January 5, 2020
- Perry S 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Fun time experiencing and getting to know carnival We did not take this specific tour but did the carnival experience as part of another tour. The experience gave us an opportunity to understand better both the history and pageantry of carnival as well as the competition aspect of it. We had no idea about any of this. Not only was it informative, but a lot of fun. We would highly recommend including the carnival experience as part of one’s time in Rio. Read more Written December 6, 2019
- laurar705 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Great way to get an overview of the city. We took all the routes the bus offered. It was a great way to get an overview of the city. There was always a seat and the bus was timely. The headphones worked for English but they were not always as timely nor as informative as I would have liked. Overall if you want to really see the city I don’t recommend it. But if you want to get your bearings it is great. Read more Written November 24, 2019
