Arrive in Cape Town South Africa

On arrival at Cape Town International Airport, you will be chauffeured to your home base for the next three nights; the prestigious One&Only Cape Town.  

As you approach Cape Town – consider the words of renowned explorer, Sir Francis Drake in the 1580s, “This cape is the most stately thing and the fairest cape we saw in the whole circumference of the earth.”  Central to the city’s impressive panorama, Table Mountain – and below it a landscape packed with attractions.

Boasting the largest rooms of any hotel in the city, the hotel is located on a private island within the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront.  An enclave of serenity, the hotel is styled in a chic, vibrant way – reflecting the diversity of this bustling metropolis.

Cape Winelands

On your first day, we offer you the opportunity to explore the legendary Cape Winelands, in the company of an experienced wine guide.  There are two full-day experiences to choose from – the first of which takes place in the nearby Constantia Valley, home of numerous esteemed estates.  Tempting the palate further, a chocolate tasting is a treat for all ages.

To burn off excess energy a visit to a Bike Park offers miles of track to explore.  A more sedate exploration can be made of the Heritage Market, tempting that other “-holic” – the shopaholic.

The second option takes you to historic Stellenbosch.  South Africa’s second-oldest town is rich in European settler influences – reflected in the iconic Cape Dutch architecture.  Sample the region’s signature cabernet sauvignon and pinotage and explore the neighboring estates to round off a full-bodied South African wine experience.

Refreshed and ready to explore one of the worlds’ most celebrated city destinations, the next two full days will be spent in the care of experienced local guides.

Half-day tours are on offer today, the first exploring the city itself, while the second circumnavigates the Cape Peninsula.

On a private tour, first orient yourself with the city’s amphitheater-like layout from Table Mountain – reached via cable car.  Then descend into the city bowl to visit the historic and cultural attractions that await.  

Greenmarket Square is alive with commerce, the Company Gardens a place of contemplation amid the bustle, and an old castle harbors stories of ghosts.  The old Malay Quarter showcases colorfully painted houses and the story of the country’s political history.  The excursion concludes with an exclusive diamond tour – and the chance to add to your bling.

A half-day Peninsula tour offers respite from the clamor of the city, taking you on a scenic journey comparable with the best in the world.  Transitioning from the city, you will visit the upmarket beach hotspots of Clifton and Camps Bay – where celebrities from all parts of the world are seen.  

A winding road hugs the coastline towards Hout Bay and then rises onto South Africa’s most beautiful road – Chapman’s Peak Drive.  The road offers heart-stopping views of the sparkling Atlantic, before descending gracefully en-route to Cape Point.    From there the road winds past a colony of rare African Penguins,  continuing through fishing villages and surfing hotspots until you reach the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, to marvel at the country’s rich floral heritage before returning to your hotel for your final evening. 

Sabi Sands Game Reserve

Today, prepare to be amazed at how easily Africa changes wardrobe, as a flight to Skukuza followed by a road transfer whisk you from urban excitement to the tranquility of the African bushveld.

Ever since such adventurers as Livingstone, Hemingway and Roosevelt shared stories of their African safaris, travelers the world over have come to Africa to witness firsthand its myriad sights – in particular, its diverse wildlife and the habitats they roam.

Inspired by this grand safari tradition, &Beyond Kirkman’s Kamp, within the Greater Kruger National Park – celebrates Africa’s wildlife heritage in a homestead-styled setting, bedecked in luxury and intuitive service.   

With only twelve chalets, each with a stunning view of the perennial Sand River and surrounding landscape, the camp promises guests an experience to remember both within and beyond its confines.  Incorporating a private veranda and en-suite bathroom, the rooms are colored in soft earth tones with simple, yet appealing, decor and furnishings.

Outside, rolling lawns host games of croquet, while at the main lodge, inviting lounge areas, a cozy bar, and sparkling swimming pool are places where guests share tales of their sightings. Depending on your time of arrival, you might also join the afternoon game-drive.

Evening meals are taken in a contemporary boma, beneath jeweled heavens.  Throughout your stay, there will be no shortage of culinary delights to keep you energized for the various activities on offer.  Remember to enquire about the spa treatments, and the WILDchild program specifically for children.

DAY 5.  The typical day at Kirkman’s starts at dawn.  In the care of an experienced Ranger-Tracker team, you will head out in search of wildlife, including the famed Big 5.  In most places, leopards are seldom seen, but this area is revered as one of the best places to watch them go about their secretive lives.  

Wildlife of all types abound and you will likely see large herds of elephants, buffalo, and other plains game.  Your guide will point out various birds, while your tracker might share some of the traditional uses of plants.  In the late afternoon, the second drive of the day culminates under a spotlight as you search for nocturnal species such as bushbabies, porcupine and aardvark.

Don’t miss the opportunity to experience Africa on foot, by joining fascinating interpretative walks where you will learn track identification, among many other interesting facts. 

Kirkman’s Kamp

Kruger National Park

From Kirkman’s, a road transfer takes you northwards to Ngala Safari Lodge.  Here too the safari traditions of yesteryear are incorporated into the decor.  Plush furnishings in a comfortable lounge area – overlooking a busy waterhole – constitute the starting point of the wildlife activities on offer.  Nearby, you can relax at the swimming pool in the heat of the day, watching a passing parade of wildlife visiting the waterhole.

The lodge has 21 thatched huts set amid stands of mopane trees.  Each of the well-appointed rooms has an en-suite bathroom, a shady veranda and A/C to take the edge off hot days.  Warm earth tones reflect the surrounding landscape, which is a little more rugged than that of Kirkmans.

Once again, meals are a lavish affair taken in a variety of locations – from a cosy courtyard to the legendary bush dinners at a secret location.  The cuisine is wholesome yet refined – a blend of familiar dishes with a distinctly African twist.

DAY 7 .  The Tsonga word Ngala means lion in the local dialect, a fitting name – for land that is said to have the highest density of lion in all Africa.  Evening discussion is often brought to a halt as their deep mournful calls thunder across the landscape.  By day, the soundtrack of the camp is a medley of birdsong and the rustle of leaves in the cooling breeze.

The Ngala camps enjoy exclusive traversing on a vast tract of land some 14,000 hectares in extent.  The north is predominated by mopane woodland – a habitat favored by large herds of buffalo and elephants, as well as kudu and painted wolf.  To the south, the vegetation opens up and is favorable terrain for zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, and numerous other plains game species.  Stands of old-growth riverine forest and a network of gullies provide shelter for leopards, while cheetah are frequently spotted on the grasslands. 

Your Ranger and Tracker are passionate about the environment, and this translates to a fascinating study of the land and its wild inhabitants.  Game-drives are conducted in the cooler hours of the early morning and late afternoon, transitioning into the evening when spotlights are used to find nocturnal creatures such as civets, genets and owls.  Daily walks are also on offer to learn more about the intricacies of the ecosystem.

A special program for young children, spa treatments, and the chance for a sleepout in a luxurious treehouse are additional options available on request. 

Ngala Safari Lodge

Victoria Falls

Today you leave South Africa, flying from Kruger-Mpumalanga International to Zambia, where a road transfer takes you across the border into Zimbabwe to your ultimate destination; the highly regarded Victoria Falls River Lodge.  The day is largely spent traveling, so arrival at the lodge where you will spend the next three nights will be a welcome and revitalizing experience.

The first European to discover the Victoria Falls was Scottish explorer, David Livingstone, who remarked, “I believe that no one could perceive where the vast body of water went; it seemed to lose itself in the earth, the opposite lip of the fissure into which it disappeared being only 80 feet distant.”  Little did he know he had stumbled on the worlds’ largest waterfall, which has held millions in awe ever since.

On the banks of the Zambezi River which plunges over the falls, lies the lodge, rated in the top percentile of hotels worldwide and is the recipient of numerous prestigious travel accolades.  As you step into its cool, leafy surroundings, you will understand why it is worthy of these and many other accolades. 

Accommodation at the lodge comprises luxuriously spacious tents, each with a private deck, an open-plan bathroom with an outdoor shower, a plunge pool and A/C.  Cool breezes off the river and muted tones lend a refreshing air to the accommodation – along with the lazy honking of the hippos and birdsong that permeates the air.  

The main lodge serves as the social hub, where guests can gather to share tales of their travels, or enjoy the view on the multi-level decks overlooking the Zambezi River.  An inviting bar and excellent dining cater to your culinary needs, while a spa and fitness center attend to your wellness.  The lodge offers a host of activities, catering to adventure seekers of all ages.  They will also gladly arrange off-site activities on request.  

DAY 9 & 10 .  As before, twice daily game-drives offer guests the opportunity to explore the 150,000 hectare Zambezi National Park in the company of seasoned wildlife guides who will interpret the sights and sounds you encounter.  Rich in game, the reserve is home to elephant, hippo, crocodile, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, sable, kudu, impala, wild dog, and the occasional big cat is a treat.  A special Junior Discoverer game-drive is tailored to children (4-7) accompanied by a parent.

Walking trails for guests 12 years and over explore the plants, insects and animal tracks, brought to life by knowledgeable guides.  You will also get so close to the waterfall and its heavy mist, that a raincoat is a necessity whatever the weather.

Victoria Falls is renowned amongst modern adventurers for the activities on offer.  As a special treat, take off on a scenic helicopter flight over the falls and adjacent gorges.  Too tame for you?  How about a headlong 350-foot plunge into the Batoka Gorge at the Victoria Falls bridge bungee site.  Still not had enough?  Join whitewater professionals navigating the tumbling torrents at the bottom of the gorge.  The lodge staff will gladly inform you of many more adventurous activities available in the adjacent vicinity.

No visit to the lodge is complete without a river cruise on the mighty Zambezi – either in the early morning to enjoy the sight of the sun-tinged mists rising from the falls, or in the evening, when the sunset display, the sound of ice clinking in glasses, along with the chuckles of both hippos and fellow passengers combine in a fitting finale of your Cape to Falls Adventure.

Tolle Erlebnisse im Nationalpark Wir hatten supertolle, gut organisierte zwei Wochen im Serengeti Nationalpark, sowie im Ngorogoro Krater. Wir wurden schon zu Beginn pünktlich auf dem Flughafen in Arusha abgeholt und hatten von da an einen perfekten Service. Wir waren zusammen mit Jerome D. Swai und dem Fahrer Cypiars welche beide nur zu empfehlen sind. Jerome kocht wunderbares Essen!! Wir haben eine Reise in Zelten gemacht, war einfach klasse das feeling so nah an der Wilden Natur zu sein. Kann nur sagen: Topleute, Topqualität, Topessen und super viel gesehen. War einfach super, danke nochmal euch kennenlernen zu dürfen. Meine Schwester und ich haben diese Tour für ihren 45. Geburtstag gebucht. Wir hatten wirklich Schwierigkeiten, uns für eine Tour / ein Unternehmen zu entscheiden, aber wir sind so froh, dass wir uns für Kiriwe Travel und Trekking Safari entschieden haben. Unsere Erfahrung war unglaublich und hätte nicht besser sein können. Unsere Reiseleiter waren freundlich, hilfsbereit und sehr sachkundig. Die Unterkünfte waren wunderschön, ebenso wie das köstliche Essen. Ich kann jedem nur empfehlen, seine Ostafrikareise mit diesen Jungs zu machen.

Es war ein Vergnügen, mit Nancy zu arbeiten, sie war sehr entgegenkommend und half uns bei der Planung einer großartigen Familienreise nach Afrika, die ich zum ersten Mal machen werde. Ich werde noch einen Bericht über die eigentliche Safari schreiben, zu der wir morgen Abend aufbrechen (1. zwei Wochen im Juni). Ich empfehle diesen Ausstatter auf jeden Fall für Ihre Safari. Ich glaube, sie bemühen sich aufrichtig, Ihre Reise zu etwas Besonderem zu machen.

Unsere gesamte Reise hat unsere Erwartungen übertroffen. KaKa war der beste Reiseführer, wo immer wir in Kenia waren. Er kannte jeden und brachte uns immer an den richtigen Ort. Als wir nach Tansania kamen, wo er es uns leicht machte, fühlten wir uns wie eine Familie. Unser Tansania-Führer, Pierce, war ebenfalls sehr kompetent. Seine Fähigkeit, unser älteres Fahrzeug in Gang zu halten, war hervorragend. Die gesamte Safari war wunderbar, von unseren Führern bis zu Nancy, die alle meine Fragen beantwortete. Vielen Dank!

Wir haben so viele Wildtiere gesehen, von der Masai Mara bis zum Amboseli National Park. KaKa ging sehr gut auf unsere Bedürfnisse ein und besorgte uns immer tolle Fotoplätze. Er war freundlich, liebenswürdig und nett. Wir haben unsere Woche mit him❤️ sehr genossen. Die Unterkünfte waren großartig, einschließlich der 2 Campingplätze, und das Essen war reichlich und lecker. Wir freuen uns schon auf die nächste Woche in Tansania ????????.

Es war eine sehr schöne Safari mit Zara Tours. Nuhu, unser professioneller Guide, war unglaublich. Er ist der Grund, warum wir ein so tolles Abenteuer in den Parks erlebt haben. Es war ein sehr schönes Erlebnis, so viele wilde Tiere in den Parks zu sehen. Er war vorsichtig, sehr organisiert und ein netter Mensch. Er nahm sich Zeit, um sicherzustellen, dass wir uns wohl fühlten, und half uns bei den meisten Aufgaben, die auf der Reise anfallen. Die Abende verbrachten wir in schönen Lodges und es war alles fantastisch. Zara ist die Beste!

Mit der Unterstützung von Hazzes Adventure hatte ich das Vergnügen, mit einigen Freunden nach Tansania zu reisen. Es war eine sehr schöne Reise. Die Mitarbeiter haben sich mehr als nur Mühe gegeben, um sicherzustellen, dass wir uns vom ersten Moment an wohlfühlen und zufrieden sind. Unsere Migrationssafari wurde durch den luxuriösen Jeep und die Unterkünfte sowie den erstklassigen Service besonders unvergesslich. Ich kann es kaum erwarten, wieder nach Tansania zu reisen.

Afrika Erfahrungsberichte

Mein Mann und ich sind gerade aus Tansania zurückgekehrt. Es war ein unbeschreibliches und unvergessliches Safari-Erlebnis; wir hatten eine Sieben-Tage Big Five Luxus Safari über Tourradar gebucht. Alles war perfekt von World Adventure Tours durchorganisiert. Die Natur war wunderschön, wie ich sie noch nie vorher gesehen hatte. Wir haben so viele Tiere hautnah erlebt; das Sortieren unserer Bilder wird wohl diesmal etwas länger dauern. Unser Guide Issa war sehr erfahren und hat uns die Tierwelt mit all seinen Erklärungen sehr nahe gebracht. Die Verpflegung während der sieben Tage war lecker. Wie können WAT und vor allem unseren Guide Issa wirklich sehr weiterempfehlen.

Die Reise hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Was wir verbessern würden: 1. Einen Tag Safari im Auto tauschen gegen einen authentischen Stadt/Markt Besuch oder eine Wanderung. 2. Beim Besuch des Hadzabe Tribe waren wir nicht darauf vorbereitet, dass die Bushmen mit uns auf die Jagd gehen und ein Tier töten. Das wissen dass das normal ist für die Leute, jedoch für uns ist es schwer mit anzusehen. 3. Die Mahlzeiten im ersten bzw letzten Hotel (Springlands) sind nicht enthalten, das ist unpassend, denn es gibt quasi keine andere Option 4. Die Lunchboxes verursachen sehr viel Müll Wir können diese Tour jedoch voll und ganz weiter empfehlen.

I had the pleasure of staying at this hotel and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. Having visited numerous five-star hotels in Antalya, I can confidently say that this one stands out as the best. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome, their friendliness and helpfulness made a lasting impression. The food was exceptional, the atmosphere was delightful, and the level of cleanness was impeccable.

Our Designer Suite was big, clean, very comfortable, a lot of complimentary treats upon the arrival. Beach bag was provided. A lot of tasty food in the restaurant, menu didn’t repeat. Quality of included table wines is good. Beautiful hotel, impeccable management, a minor problem during our stay was solved with high notch elegance. Special thanks to guest relation manager Didem.

The staff were all friendly and very helpful. Any question or concern was quickly addressed. The staff at the Kids Club are great. The property itself is kept spotless and clean.

The design and quality of the hotel renovation and rooms are rated 10 out of 10. The cuisine is excellent, despite the off-season. Special thanks for the sushi, which were available every other day! Booking à la carte restaurants was easy through the app. Most of the time, the weather was fortunate, allowing for enjoyable swims in the outdoor pool (with great temperature). Even when the sun was absent, the indoor pool was a savior (with the option to swim outside). The bar's drink menu and the attentiveness of the waitstaff deserve special mention.

Food is great but the amount of food is overwhelming). The fitness center and the yoga studio are absolutely fabulous. I have trained every day for two hours and after relaxed in the wonderful SPA

The hotel exceeded my expectations in every way, especially when it came to catering to my kids. The breakfast and restaurant offerings were exceptional, boasting a wide variety of delicious and fresh foods. Throughout the day and night, there was no shortage of entertainment, including captivating acrobatic shows and engaging arrow games. The staff, particularly Amigo, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. This truly felt like an all-inclusive experience, and I highly recommend it for families seeking a fantastic getaway
