Everything You Need To Know for Taylor Swift’s Tampa Shows

Last-minute tickets, parking, setlist, venue information and more... are you ready for it.

Welcome to Swiftsborough , Taylor Swift!

Taylor Swift needs no introduction. Few artists get to say that Hillsborough County was renamed for a few days in their honor, or that the mayor of the city invited them to be mayor for a day and offered them a key to the city .

On her first stadium tour in almost five years, Swift is gearing up to bring The Eras Tour , a journey through the musical eras of her career (past and present) to Tampa next week.

Her three Tampa Eras Tour dates on April 13, 14 and 15 are the only stops in Florida and will be drawing tens of thousands fans from across the state and all over the world. It’s been a long time since Swift graced the stages at St. Pete Pier and the Plant City Strawberry Festival .

Search ‘Taylor Swift Eras Tampa’ on Tik Tok and you’ll find videos with over 34.5 million views documenting outfit ideas from fans, unofficial fan meetups, approved bag sizes for the venue, and stories from fans getting ready to fly in from other Canada, Brazil and London.

From places to find last-minute tickets and parking instructions to venue rules and things to know for fans, here are the answers to the internet’s top questions.

Update: Heavy traffic expected.

The Tampa Sports Authority has reported that everyone, not just Swifties, should expect heavy traffic in Tampa, especially around Raymond James Stadium, April 13 through 16.

Tom McEwen Blvd. (Tampa Bay Blvd.) will be closed between Dale Mabry Highway and Himes Avenue starting on noon April 13 until 8 a.m. April 16.

Traffic on the evenings of shows will be heavy on the following roads: Dale Mabry, Himes, Columbus and Martin Luther King Jr.

The Sports Authority advises that those not attending the concert are advised to travel alternate routes around the area of Raymond James Stadium.

How do I find tickets to Taylor Swift’s Tampa shows?

StubHub is the tour’s official ticket reseller. Tickets are available in slim pickings for all three tour dates. As of writing this, the site notes that 14,799 people have viewed Taylor Swift events in the past hour. The cheapest seats at the venue are going for $495 a pop.

Desperate Swifties may also have luck on social media, where fans have been using Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and TikTok, but be careful, scammers abound.

Try to win tickets:

tampa stadium eras tour

Capital One is hosting a ticket giveaway at its Tampa Hyde Park Village Café location beginning Tuesday, April 4 and running until Friday, April 7. Two pairs of tickets will be given away to each show, and the sweepstakes, like all Capital One Cafés, is open to everyone.

To enter, people must visit the Hyde Park Village Café location and scan a QR Code on their smartphones from printed café signage. Two (2) winners will be selected at random for each show and notified by email. A pair (2) of tickets will be digitally transferred to each winner. Good luck!

Where do I park for Taylor Swift’s shows at Raymond James Stadium?

Three or four hours of traffic are expected leading up to the show, especially on Dale Mabry Highway. Spots in the lot are nearly sold out. Fans can check for available spots through parkjockey.com ,  SpotHero  and  seatgeek.com .

The Ray Jay stadium lots open at 3 p.m. and fans will be tailgating and trading friendship bracelets beforehand, but local officials are asking fans not to arrive earlier than opening time and clog traffic flow.

It’s a gamble, but some fans may bring cash and try to get a spot with willing neighbors in the surrounding neighborhoods.

HART bus routes 7, 15, 32, 36 and 45 service the stadium. Bus stops on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard and Himes Avenue will stop about 15-20 minutes walking distance from the venue.

Uber and Lyft are also options for getting there and avoiding parking problems. But, fans in other cities have reported two to three hour waits after each show for pickup, along with hefty prices. We recommend having a family member or friend pick you up nearby. The George M. Steinbrenner lot across the street can be accessed via a pedestrian bridge.

Taylor Swift Dazzles Tampa On The Eras Tour.

tampa stadium eras tour

Tampa, FL (April 13th, 2023)

Back in November of 2022 when Taylor Swift announced her Eras tour, which would be her first tour in five years, everyone knew this was going to be a huge deal. When tickets finally went on sale more than records were broken, it broke the internet as it crashed Ticketmaster’s website. It even caused congressional hearings because of controversial practices by the ticketing titan. In the blink of an eye the entire tour would be sold out. When extra dates were added to cope with demand they too were snatched up in an instant. Such is the love for Taylor Swift by her diehard fans the Swifties.

Fast forward to April thirteenth, and it’s the day seemingly the entire state of Florida and even points beyond had been waiting for. It was finally the opening date of a three day stand of the Eras tour at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay Florida. Roads and parking lots were packed early on as no one wanted to risk being late to this momentous event. One look at the crowd and you would see everything virtually every age range and even whole families in attendance. The stadium quickly became a sea of glitz and glitter as fans young and old came in decked out in costumes inspired by their favorite pop star.

Throughout the tour there would be two opening acts every night. Both would get a chance to impress what would have to be the biggest crowds they would ever play for in their careers. The first one up would be Taylor Gayle Rutherfurd, simply known as Gayle. She soared to the top of the charts on the strength of her first hit song “ABCDEFU” which also went viral on TikTok. For thirty minutes she performed a nice mix of material that showcased her power pop style nicely  including the Alanis Morrisette hit “You Oughta Know”. She finished her performance with her hit song “ABCDEFU”.

tampa stadium eras tour

Up next was Beabadoobee. With a scant thirty minutes to work with,   Beatrice Kristi Ilejay Laus who is known as Beabadoobee got to show the crowd her stuff. Her pop-rock style added a nice bit of edge to the night as her music also has a bit of an indie feel to it as well. With an absolutely massive stage at their disposal her guitarist would make use of it frequently venturing away from the band. They opened with “10:36”. The song has an atmospheric feel to it. The jangly guitar work balances perfectly with Bea’s soft voice. Songs like “Apple Cider” and “See You Soon” are very much in the same vein. It was great to see a young band with an indie flair get a chance to expose their music to new fans on such a major level.

tampa stadium eras tour

With eight o’clock quickly approaching it was finally time for the expansive Era’s tour to begin. As Taylor has released four albums, Lover, Folklore, Evermore and recently Midnights since her last tour, there was a vast amount of material for her to choose from. So to help showcase all these albums as well as the rest of her impressive catalog the concept of the Era’s tour was born. The tour would feature an absolutely unheard of forty four song setlist that would be broken down into era’s or acts that would define her thus far seventeen year long career. Every era was a full blown homage to that point in time. From costumes to lighting to colors all of this and more was fully woven into the DNA of each act. This would be no concert put together by mere mortals, this would be an extravaganza that only the biggest pop star this planet has ever seen could pull off.

tampa stadium eras tour

When the clock emblazoned on the giant video screen that is part of the main stage ticked down to zero the near seventy thousand souls that were  packed into the  stadium erupted as one in cheers. As the curtain lifted her dancers glided out onto the stage wearing what could be best described as colorful parachutes. They made their way from the main stage across the walkway to the second stage, they all bowed down and as they lifted their parachutes back up there was Taylor, adorned in a Versace body suit. She kicked off the Lovers era with “Miss America & the Heartbreak Prince” which she turned into a medley with “Cruel Summer”. Swift strutted around the center stage delivering both songs with incredible passion and energy.  When she stopped at center stage, a platform would raise her up as she continued her performance. As the song wound down, she was lowered down and she made her way back to the main stage and two of her dancers put a Versace blazer on her. The curtain was pulled back revealing a multi-level office building . She launched into “The Man”. With her dancers decked out in business attire they put on a Broadway worthy performance. Taylor worked her way to the top and was accompanied along the way by her dancers with her reaching the top level alone. Indeed the performance spoke to the heart of the song and its assessment of inequality and gender pay gap. The Lovers Era ended with “Lovers” and “The Archer”.

The next era was Fearless. She would take the audience back to when her career was just beginning to take off. For her older fans attending this was the moment that really touched them as they had discovered Taylor at a point when her songs  echoed in the journey that they were on as well.  The songs she chose for this era “Fearless”, “You Belong With Me”, and “Love Story” defined this era perfectly.

Her ninth album Nevermore would be the next stanza of the evening. She would launch into “Tis The Damned Season”  to start things off. For “Champagne Problems” Taylor sat down in front of an aptly decorated grand piano.  Before she started the song, she offered up what had to be the perfect apology. Earlier in the show she thanked the opener Gracie Abrams, who would be the opener on the next evening instead of Gayle who actually opened up the night. She started off saying that tonight was the thirteenth, as most of her fans know that is her lucky number , which caused everyone to cheer. She continued on saying that is also the number of brain cells she has. She went on to profusely apologize to Gayle in the most humble and gracious way possible. She went on to perform a heart wrenching rendition of the song. “The closing song to the era was “Tolerate It”. This was a masterclass in how simplicity can be so powerful. With just her and one dancer and a large dinner table, every ounce of emotion the song had was laid out for all to see.

tampa stadium eras tour

The Reputation Era was up next. For many of her fans this was a delight as it brought back to them her last time in Tampa for the tour of the same name. The video screens came alive with the scales of a serpent. This would portend just how visually alive this era would be. “…Ready For It?” Was a full blown dance number featuring all her dancers at the main stage. Dressed in a black glittery body suit Taylor and her crew put on a devastating performance of the song that was amazing just to see.  “Delicate”, “Don’t Blame Me” and “Look What You Made Me Do” were also featured as well.

The Red Era had near seventy thousand voices in unison singing along as she performed “We Are Never Ever getting Back Together” and “I Knew You Were trouble”.  Dressed in an aptly colored red sequined gown and holding a red acoustic guitar, she stood alone in the center of the middle stage and asked the audience if they had ten minutes to spare, which of course they cheered her on. She played a beautiful rendition of “All Too Well”. During the song confetti rained down on the crowd. With just Taylor standing center stage and the wrist lights that were given to everyone lighting up the stadium it was easily one of the most beautiful and powerful moments of the night.

The Folklore segment of the night found Taylor back on the main stage and in a cabin. Taylor would relate to the audience that she used a different approach to writing this album. She said she thought it would be fun to create characters and story lines. They could live in different times and fall in love or go to war. She would pick out “The 1”, “Betty”, “The Last Great American Dynasty”, “August”, “Illicit Affairs”, “My Tears Ricochet”, and “Cardigan” to represent this era. Tonight she also debuted a new two piece green dress and asked the audience if they liked it, which of course elicited cheers.

It was now time to switch back from the more intimate Folklore era to the party atmosphere of 1989. It wouldn’t be a party without the massive hit, then again isn’t everyone of Ms. Swift’s songs a massive hit, “Shake It Off”. “Style”, “Blank Space”, “Wildest Dreams” and “Bad Blood” were also featured. For this era she had a new orange fringed skirt and halter top.

tampa stadium eras tour

At this point in the show, she plays two surprise songs that are unique to each concert. She walked all the way out to the third stage, which is a tee that is connected to the middle stage by a walkway. Dressed in a yellow gown, she picked up an acoustic guitar and performed a lovely version of “Speak Now”. It was this song and the following one that showed that Taylor Swift is one of the precious few artists that have mastered the art of the stadium show. It’s one thing to put on an over the top show, but it is vastly more difficult to turn a crowd of nearly seventy thousand people into an intimate affair. The previous song and “Treacherous” which she performed on piano managed to do just that.

With the two surprise songs over it was now time to start the final Era. To do that Taylor stood up from her piano raised her arms into the air and swan dived right into an opening in the stage. As the whole walkway and all the stages are video screens themselves. They turned a light blue and showed Taylor swimming underneath the stage. As she reached the main stage she appeared back on stage in a new outfit and the Midnights era began. She started it off with “Lavender Haze” and went on to perform “Anti-Hero”, “Midnight Rain”, “Vigilante Shit”, “Bejeweled”, and “Mastermind”. When she was done she asked the crowd if they had time for one more song, which naturally caused everyone to cheer. The last song of the night was “Karma”. One that was indelibly clear was just how grateful Taylor was for everyone showing up and supporting her. There was no mistaking just how genuine her thank you’s and smile were. As the song ended fireworks erupted into the night bringing the wildly successful first of the Eras tour in Tampa to a close.

This was more than a mere concert or an event. The Eras tour is a once in a lifetime memory. Part ingénue, part singer, part entertainer, and part teenage girl baring her soul in her diary Taylor Swift has transcended the role of being the voice of her generation and is worthy of icon status  with the biggest acts to ever grace any stage anywhere. For three and a half hours nearly seventy thousand people in the sold out Raymond James Stadium witnessed the well-earned lofty status that Taylor Swift achieved.

The Eras tour is a breathtaking affair and amazing achievement. It is exquisitely crafted in every fashion. From its grandiose size to the polish and precision of every aspect, it has truly earned all of the press it has garnered. Taylor Swift has set the bar impossibly high for any other act to even try to compare with her. How Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour Conquered the World

The pop star’s record-breaking, career-spanning show has dominated the summer, commanding attention and whipping up demand at a level thought unachievable in a fragmented age.

As Taylor Swift rolled into Los Angeles this week, the frenzy surrounding her record-breaking Eras Tour was already in high gear.

Headlines gushed that she had given $100,000 bonuses to her crew. Politicians asked her to postpone her concerts in solidarity with striking hotel workers. Scalped tickets were going for $3,000 and up. And there were way, way too many friendship bracelets to count.

These days, the center of an otherwise splintered music world can only be Taylor Swift.

The pop superstar’s tour, which is now finishing its initial North American leg with six nights at SoFi Stadium outside Los Angeles, has been both a business and a cultural juggernaut. Swift’s catalog of generation-defining hits and canny marketing sense have helped her achieve a level of white-hot demand and media saturation not seen since the 1980s heyday of Michael Jackson and Madonna — a dominance that the entertainment business had largely accepted as impossible to replicate in the fragmented 21st century.

“The only thing I can compare it to is the phenomenon of Beatlemania,” said Billy Joel, who attended Swift’s show in Tampa, Fla., with his wife and young daughters.

In a summer of tours by stars like Beyoncé, Bruce Springsteen, Morgan Wallen and Drake, Swift’s stands apart, in numbers and in media noise. Although Swift, 33, and her promoters do not publicly report box-office figures, the trade publication Pollstar estimated that she has been selling about $14 million in tickets each night. By the end of the full world tour, which is booked with 146 stadium dates well into 2024, Swift’s sales could reach $1.4 billion or more — exceeding Elton John’s $939 million for his multiyear farewell tour, the current record-holder.

Swift has now had more No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 over the course of her career than any other woman, surpassing Barbra Streisand. With the tour lifting Swift’s entire body of work, she has placed 10 albums on that chart this year and is the first living artist since the trumpeter and bandleader Herb Alpert in 1966 to have four titles in the Top 10 at the same time.

“It’s a pretty amazing feat,” Alpert, 88, said in a phone interview. “With the way radio is these days, and the way music is distributed, with streaming, I didn’t think anyone in this era could do it.”

But how did a concert tour become so much more: fodder for gossip columns, the subject of weather reports , a boon for friendship-bracelet beads — the unofficial currency of Swiftie fandom — and the reason nobody could get a hotel room in Cincinnati at the end of June?

“She is the best C.E.O., and best chief marketing officer, in the history of music,” said Nathan Hubbard, a longtime music and ticketing executive who co-hosts a Swift podcast . “She is following people like Bono, Jay-Z and Madonna, who were acutely aware of their brands. But of all of them, Taylor is the first one to be natively online.”

Swifties have chronicled the stream of celebrity fans who have turned up each night: Julia Roberts, the New York Jets’ new quarterback Aaron Rodgers, even Flavor Flav of Public Enemy. But Swift has also made each show a news event by adding two “surprise songs,” often with headline-grabbing guests. On the July day that she put out a music video featuring Taylor Lautner, an ex-boyfriend, the actor backflipped across the stage in Kansas City, Mo., and paid Swift effusive tribute — “not just for the singer you are,” Lautner said, “but for the human you are.” The crowd registered its approval with an earsplitting roar.

The Taylorpalooza extends to every level of the news media, which began the coverage cycle by chronicling Swift’s ticketing fiasco last November, when fans — and scalpers’ bots — crushed Ticketmaster’s systems, leading to a heated Senate Judiciary hearing . Since then, seemingly no nugget of Swift news has escaped coverage, from the stars in the stands to oddities like a Seattle concert that, according to one researcher, shook the ground with an intensity equivalent to a 2.3-magnitude earthquake .

Music critics have portrayed the Eras Tour as showing Swift at the top of her game as a media-savvy, big-tent talent, a pop star with a knack for grand spectacle as well as the polished artistry of a classic songwriter.

Shania Twain, the country-pop star whose career in some ways prefigured Swift’s, caught the Las Vegas stop of the Eras Tour, a 44-plus song production that goes as long as three and a half hours. She praised Swift’s “beautiful balance” of high-tech stagecraft and intimate performance segments. “I have to applaud her,” Twain said in a telephone interview. “As a performer, I know that work that goes into it.”

The power of Swift’s fan army — and fear of crossing the star, or even appearing to — has kept nearly all of the press about the tour sunny. Though some fans (and parents) balked at the ticket prices and challenges of securing seats, most frustration was directed squarely at Ticketmaster, not Swift. After a few weeks of headlines romantically linking Swift with a frontman some fans considered to be problematic, reports spread in the celebrity pages that they had split. (Swift’s representatives declined to comment for this article.)

For fans, the shows are a pilgrimage, and a rediscovery of the joys of mass gatherings. Flights are packed with Swifties, and travelers trade stories and compare outfits — drawn from looks associated with Swift “eras” — in stadium corridors and parking lots. In Kansas City, the comedian Nikki Glaser was attending her eighth show, a commitment that she estimated has cost her $25,000.

“This year I decided not to freeze my eggs,” Glaser said. “I’m going to put that money toward the thing I love most in the world, which is Taylor Swift.”

Before Eras, Swift hadn’t been on tour since 2018. And her catalog has grown by seven No. 1 albums since then, fueled in part by three rerecorded “Taylor’s Versions” of her first LPs — a project hailed by Swift’s fans as a crusade to regain control of her music, though it is also an act of revenge after the sale of Swift’s former record label, a move that, she said , “stripped me of my life’s work.”

“Folklore” and “Evermore” expanded her palate into fantastical indie-folk and brought new collaborators into the fold: Aaron Dessner from the band the National and Justin Vernon, a.k.a. Bon Iver, rock-world figures who helped attract new listeners.

The other major tour this year that is enticing fans to book transcontinental flights, and to show up costumed and in rapture, is also by a woman: Beyoncé, 41, whose Renaissance tour is a fantasia of disco and retrofuturism. Like Swift, she is also a trailblazing artist-entrepreneur, maintaining tight control over her career and fostering a rich connection with fans online. Together with Greta Gerwig’s “Barbie,” a critique of the patriarchy told in hot pink, they are signs of powerful women ruling the discourse of pop culture.

But in music, at least, the scale and success of Swift’s tour is without equal. Later this month, after completing 53 shows in the United States, she will kick off an international itinerary of at least 78 more before returning to North America next fall. Beyoncé’s full tour has 56 dates; Springsteen’s, 90. (Recently, Harry Styles wrapped a 173-date tour in arenas and stadiums, grossing about $590 million.)

Outside Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, fans posed for selfies and shared their ticketing ordeals. Esmeralda Tinoco and Sami Cytron, 24-year-old former sorority sisters, said they had paid $645 for two seats. A stone’s throw away, Karlee Patrick and Emily DeGruson, both 18 and dressed as a pair in angel/devil costumes after a line in Swift’s “Cruel Summer,” sat “Taylorgating” at the edge of the parking lot; they said they had paid $100 for parking but couldn’t afford tickets.

As Swift’s opening acts finished, the crowd rushed in. Glaser, the comedian, later said that of the eight shows she had been to, her favorites were the ones where she had brought her mother — and converted her to Swiftie fandom.

“Everyone is in love with her,” Glaser said her mom told her after one show in Texas. “Now I get it.”

Taylor Swift ‘s The Eras tour is making its way across North America, and city officials have been pulling out all the stops to welcome the superstar to their stadiums.

The friendly competition between cities to one-up the royal treatment has led to all types of exciting photo ops for Swifties and honors for Swift herself. From making Swift the honorary mayor of the day and giving her the key to the city to renaming stadiums, streets and even cities themselves, The Eras tour is certainly making an impact on every location it visits.

We’ve compiled all the fun ways cities have been welcoming The Eras tour, and we’ll be updating it as Swift continues her string of performances. See below.

Glendale, Ariz.

Mayor Jerry Weiers of Glendale, Ariz., officially renamed the city to honor The Eras tour kickoff on March 17.

“And now therefore, I, Jerry P. Weiers, mayor of the city of Glendale, on behalf of our city council, do hereby proclaim that on March 17 and 18, 2023, the city of Glendale will be renamed Swift City,” he said in a ceremonial press conference to share the news before sneaking in a couple of lyrical references. “And all Swifties are encouraged to share their smiles that could light up this whole town on all the social media platforms because the best people in life are free.”

Sin City lit up their Gateway Arches every night ahead of Swift’s shows on March 24 and 25, representing all of the singer’s albums.

We’re “flexing like a Vegas acrobat” to welcome @taylorswift13 & the #Swifties to @vegas this weekend ✨ We’re “Ready For It.” Are you, @taylornation13 ? #VivaLasEras #TSTheErasTour #VegasTSTheErasTour pic.twitter.com/5RXF82KISR — City of Las Vegas (@CityOfLasVegas) March 22, 2023

Arlington, Texas

In celebration of the the three shows at AT&T Stadium from March 31 to April 2, Arlington went all out with fun attractions and events, from a new street called “Taylor Swift Way” to a pet adoption spree. They even gave Swift a key to the city.

Arlington is “Enchanted” to welcome Taylor Swift to @ATTStadium for The Eras Tour and has put together some fun ways for our Swifties to celebrate the singer’s 5th visit to The #AmericanDreamCity : https://t.co/quuTJ7xPS2 #TSTheErasTour #TSTheErasTourArlington #TaylorSwiftWay pic.twitter.com/5cFDO7aZC5 — City of Arlington (@CityOfArlington) March 31, 2023

Tampa, Fla.

Tay enjoyed her time in Tampa from April 13 to 15 as mayor of the city.

“Hey Taylor, this is Mayor Jane Castor. We are so excited to welcome you to Tampa,” the city’s mayor said in a one-minute video. “We know Glendale  changed its name , Arlington made a  street sign , and  Vegas  illuminated their Gateway Arches, but here in Tampa, we’ve got a reputation to uphold,” Castor said of the stunts pulled by cities on earlier “Eras” dates to make the stops a little more special. “We want to go bigger. So I want to present you with a key to the city.”

She also invited Swift to be the city’s honorary mayor for a day. “Mayor Swift has a nice ring to it,” Castor said as she opened up a wooden box containing Taylor’s magic key. “We can’t wait to welcome you and your fans to Tampa (Taylor’s Version).”

#TAMPA are you ready for it? We’ve got a reputation to uphold‼️ Tag @taylorswift13 if you agree “Mayor Swift” has a nice ring to it. 😉 #TSTheErasTour pic.twitter.com/bRcjYueC5v — City of Tampa (@CityofTampa) April 10, 2023

Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo revealed that the stadium Swift performed at from April 21 to 23 would be renamed “NRG Stadium (Taylor’s Version)” throughout the weekend. To add to the fun, banners with the temporary name were hung at the stadium’s north and south entrances.

“With the name change, I know it’ll never go out of style,” Hidalgo announced in a social media video. “Plus, it’s not only the young that enjoy your music. I hope your stay is beyond your wildest dreams, and for everyone in Harris County, let’s get ready for it!”

I'm so excited to welcome you back to Harris County this weekend, @taylorswift13 ! Long story short, we've prepared quite a surprise for you. Ahead of Swift’s trio of hometown shows in Nashville, Mayor John Cooper unveiled a new bench dedicated to the pop star , complete with a plaque referencing one of her “Invisible String” lyrics: “Green was the color of the grass where I used to read at Centennial Park”.

“For Taylor Swift,” reads the plaque. “A bench for you to read on at Centennial Park. Welcome home, Nashville.”

Music City also named May 5-7, 2023 — aka the Nissan Stadium Eras Tour dates — Taylor Swift Homecoming Weekend. To deliver the news, Cooper issued an official proclamation referencing dozens of Swift’s lyrics, writing, “Long story short, Taylor Swift is a legendary musician, producer, and director” and “Karma is Taylor Swift coming straight home to Nashville to play three sold-out tour performances at Nissan stadium.”

Welcome home, @taylorswift13 . As of today, you now have the perfect place to read at Centennial Park. Nashville is READY for this weekend. #NashvilleTStheErasTour #TSTheErasTour pic.twitter.com/Z2kzZv5QOX — Mayor John Cooper (@JohnCooper4Nash) May 4, 2023

Philadelphia

All Taylor, all the time! Radio station 96.5 FM (WTDY) in the City of Brotherly Love temporarily renamed itself to Ninety-Swift-Five T-A-Y in honor of the pop superstar’s shows at Lincoln Financial Field May 12-14. The station played music exclusively from Swift’s catalog during that period, and also changed its logos online and on social media platforms to reflect “Taylor’s Hits.”

East Rutherford, N.J.

Swift’s three-night stand at MetLife Stadium from May 26 to 28 prompted an official proclamation from the state’s governor, Philip D. Murphy.

The governor declared, with mock solemnity, the Taylor Swift Ham, Egg and Cheese Sandwich to be the “state sandwich of New Jersey.” This ends what has apparently been a rolling debate in the Garden State as to whether a ham sandwich should be called a New Jersey pork roll (which they call it in the southern part of the state) or a Taylor ham sandwich (the term favored in the northern part of the state).

Murphy’s proclamation was studded with Swift puns: “WHEREAS, New Jersey has a Reputation for great debates on whether it is Taylor Ham or Pork Roll; and WHEREAS, in honor of one of The Best Days, New Jersey is Enchanted to announce the Taylor Swift Ham, Egg and Cheese as the official State Sandwich of New Jersey and end the Great War between Taylor Ham and Pork Roll.”

Before Swifties assembled at Chicago’s Soldier Field in June, Skydeck Chicago and Willis Tower lit up their twin antennas in a variety of album-themed colors to celebrate.

Minneapolis

On Wednesday, June 21, Minneapolis mayor Jacob Frey announced that he would be renaming the city “Swiftie-apolis” in honor of Taylor Swift and her Eras Tour. “We are renaming Minneapolis to ‘Swiftie-apolis.’ As a singer, songwriter, performer and producer, Taylor is one of the most popular artists, and we’re expecting hundreds of thousands to visit our downtown and experience our city as a result,” he said.

Watch his announcement:

To celebrate Swift’s sold-out shows in the state, Minnesota’s Governor Tim Walz sent out a proclamation naming June 23 and 24 “Taylor Swift Days.”

“Taylor Swift has  enchanted  and inspired Minnesotans and people all over the world,” Walz wrote in the Swift pun-filled official document that he tweeted out on Friday . “Taylor Swift will  forever & always  be a positive influence, setting an example with her truthfulness, grace, and strength of character.”

Bellevue, Ky.

Before Swift had two sold out shows at the city’s Paycor Stadium, Bellevue renamed Taylor Avenue to Taylor Swift Avenue, and put up a hot pink sign to celebrate.

Bellevue’s Mayor Charlie Cleves told WCPO that the idea came from a text exchange between himself and the Director of Marketing and Communications Melissa Morandi. “[Melissa] texted me a story that Taylor Swift’s concert would bring in [millions of] dollars to our region. I immediately called her and said, ‘This could be great for Bellevue businesses because Taylor Avenue is only 1.5 miles from the venue.’ Melissa replied back, ‘You mean Taylor Swift Avenue.’ I then replied, ‘Yes, I can make a proclamation making Taylor Ave, Taylor Swift Avenue.’ It exploded from there,” he told the station.

Santa Clara, Calif.

Mayor Lisa Gillmor announced on July 18 that city would be temporarily renamed “Swiftie Clara,” and the pop star was named its honorary mayor ahead of her Eras Tour shows.

How many songs does Taylor Swift play on the Eras Tour setlist?

The average Taylor Swift concert is around 2 hours long but The Eras Tour is a whole different beast... The concert is a whopping 3 hours and 15 minutes long, and Taylor performs a huge 45 tracks within that timeframe.

Not all the tracks are performed in full, though – some are shortened versions. There's also a couple of additional little interludes that pop up throughout the show.

For context, on the Rep tour, Taylor performed 19 tracks in total, including several mashups that featured some of her older songs. For The 1989 World Tour, she performed 18 songs, while 17 songs were performed on The Red Tour and the Speak Now World Tour.

Taylor has 'reset' the surprise song list, which means anyone attending a show in 2024 can anticipate hearing a song she's already performed. She previously stated that she will only play each surprise song once during the tour, unless she messes one up.

There's also no rules for Taylor repeating songs from Midnights as surprise songs, which means fans may get to hear the likes of 'You're On Your Own Kid' and 'Snow on the Beach' again at some point in the future.

We'll update this article with every Surprise Acoustic Song – and every surprise song that she will play again – after every show.

Will Taylor Swift change the Eras Tour setlist to include The Tortured Poets Department?

Will Taylor Swift change the Eras Tour setlist for the international shows?

As of March 9th 2024, the Eras Tour setlist has remained the same as the U.S. leg. However, with the release of The Tortured Poets Department in April, things could change. More on that further down the page.

Fans attending the European shows might end up hearing Taylor perform ' Castles Crumbling ' with Hayley Williams as an additional song during the Speak Now section, as Paramore will be supporting her throughout those tour dates. (Both Phoebe Bridgers and HAIM joined Taylor on stage to perform 'Nothing New' and 'No Body, No Crime' respectively on the nights they were support acts.)

After completing her shows in South America, Australia, Japan and Singapore, Taylor is now set to pick the tour back up in Europe in May 2024 and run through to mid-August, before returning to North America in November 2024.

Will Taylor Swift change the Eras Tour setlist to include The Tortured Poets Department ?

Taylor's brand new album was released on April 19th, just before she embarks on the European leg of the Eras Tour. The full anthology version of the album includes a whopping 31 new songs.

We won't know for sure whether or not the official setlist will change to accommodate those songs until she kicks off the Eras Tour in Paris on May 9th.

It's unclear if she will add a new TTPD section to the tour, but it's looking very likely that Taylor will perform some of those new songs as surprise songs. We'll update this article as soon as we know more!

What are Taylor's most performed songs on tour?

Before she embarked on The Eras Tour, Taylor’s top 3 most performed songs are ‘Love Story’ (491 times), ‘Our Song’ (404 times) and ‘You Belong With Me’ (381 times).

Of course, almost all of Taylor’s most performed songs are from her first two albums. As the list goes on, the Speak Now bops, Red bangers and 1989 hits start to weave their way in.

If you’re wondering what Taylor’s most played songs from her first five albums are, here’s a break down:

  • Taylor Swift : ‘Our Song’, ‘Tim McGraw’ and ‘Picture To Burn’
  • Fearless: ‘Love Story’, ‘You Belong With Me’ and ‘Fifteen’
  • Speak Now : ‘Sparks Fly’, ‘Mean’ and ‘Mine’
  • Red : ‘We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together’, ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’ and ‘Red’
  • 1989 : ‘Shake It Off’, ‘Blank Space’ and ‘Out of the Woods’

Taylor has only had the chance to perform songs from Reputation on the Reputation Stadium Tour so far, but ‘Ready For It?’, ‘Delicate’ and ‘Look What You Made Me Do’ take the top spots when it comes to live performances of the Rep tracks.

Due to the cancellation of Lover Fest, Taylor hasn’t been able to perform Lover on a tour setting. Folklore, Evermore and Midnights will also be making their tour debut on the Eras Tour.

Taylor Swift namedrops this Florida city on “The Tortured Poets Department.’ Where is Destin?

tampa stadium eras tour

Destin's tourism department just hit a huge jackpot.

While Florida got a huge shoutout on Taylor Swift " The Tortured Poet's Department " album, the Northwest Florida city got an extra special nod in the song.

In her 11th studio album , Swift sings about escaping to the Sunshine State, with Florence + The Machine  by her side. Together, they both detail the sunny paradise in a haunting, brutal way that only Floridians know.

What were Taylor Swift's lyrics about Destin?

In the song " Florida !!!" with Florence + the Machine, Swift sings the lyrics:

"Little did you know your home's really only; A town you're just a guest in; So you work your life away just to pay; For a time-share down in Destin."

Where is Destin?

Destin is a city located along the Gulf of Mexico in Okaloosa County, right in the state's panhandle region. According to USA Today, the area is known as a tourist destination because of the gulf beaches, fishing and resorts.

What is Swift's connection to Destin, Florida?

There is no direct connection to Destin for the popstar but Swift does have some ties to the state as a whole.

For starters, her father Scott Swift lives in a $4 million home in Pinellas County. Back in 2020, it was reported he fought a burglar who broke into the St. Pete penthouse.

Swift has also toured in Florida throughout her career, ever since her Fearless World Tour. That's not even counting the festivals she's played at early in her career, such as the Florida Strawberry Festival and Lehigh Spring Fest.

Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce? Nah. Florida, Eras Tour singer make one enchanted love story

So it's clear Swift loves Florida but do we love her? A report from sports betting website  Betway  last year revealed that Florida houses the most Swifties. According to Betway, Florida makes 5.5 million yearly searches about Taylor Swift, making it the No. 1 state in the U.S. That's roughly 81,910 searches per 10,000 residents.

What is Taylor Swift's song 'Florida!!!' about?

In “Florida!!!”, Swift and Florence offer up a suspense-filled track that highlights the beauty and brutality of the state, with lyrics aimed at escaping, washing away with hurricanes and bodies (metaphorically) sinking away in the swamp.

But what is the song actually about? Well, no one but Swift, her collaborators and closest confidants will know the answer but that doesn't stop Swifties from sleuthing. However, Swift did tell iHeart Radio that after getting inspiration from crime shows, she thought of where she'd go if she needed to reinvent herself.

"I think I was coming up with this idea of 'what happens when your life doesn't fit' or 'the choices you've made catch up with you' and you're surrounded by these harsh consequences and judgement," Swift said. "And circumstances did not lead you to where you thought you'd be."

Fans previously speculated the album was about Swift’s six-year relationship with English actor Joe Alwyn and their breakup. Many theorize that "Florida!!!" is about her Eras Tour shows at Tampa's Raymond James Stadium from April 13-15, 2023 — which would have been when details of Swift's and Alwyn's breakup were made public.

The theory seems to be confirmed when Florence sings, "So you pack your life away just to wait out/The sh—storm back in Texas." According to Elle , Houston was the next tour stop after Tampa.

Ever since the track list was revealed, fans looked back at moments from the Tampa shows and noticed the popstar seemed upset when performing songs about her past relationship.

Does Florida get any other Tayor Swift nods in 'The Tortured Poets Department'?

Yes! In "Fortnight," a collaboration with Post Malone and the lead single on the album about a suburban housewife's fling with a married man, she sings at the end:

"'Nother fortnight lost in America; Move to Florida, buy the car you want; But it won't start up 'til you touch, touch, touch me"

Where can I buy 'The Tortured Poets Department'?

You can purchase it  on her website . There are several versions of the album available, including a CD, cassette, vinyl and digital album.

These retailers are selling the album starting Friday, April 19:

  • Barnes and Noble

Nancy Wilson talks Taylor Swift, Led Zeppelin before Heart concert in Tampa

  • Gabrielle Calise Times staff

After five years, Heart is coming back to Tampa. As always, the rock ‘n’ roll pioneers are doing it on their own terms.

The Royal Flush Tour, which rolls into Amalie Arena on Friday, marks the band’s second tour since sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson reunited following a three-year hiatus . Guitarist and singer Nancy Wilson is delighted to be playing a new song, “Roll the Dice,” and traveling with her older sister.

“It was important to do our separate projects, and then of course, the pause of the shutdown caused a lot of time to go by as well,” said Wilson, 70, in a Zoom interview with the Tampa Bay Times. “But it’s really fun and rewarding and fulfilling to be with my sister again doing what we know how to do best.”

Wilson also spoke about her influences, legacy and thoughts on the future of women in music. This interview has been edited for length and clarity.

I watched the recent clip from the Howard Stern show where Robin Quivers talked about how much Heart meant to her. You mentioned the new generation of artists, like boygenius and Taylor Swift, who are empowering women —

Nancy Wilson : And Billie Eilish. Olivia Rodrigo. Maggie Rogers. I mean, there’s just some really cool women coming up. Nowadays, they’re writing their own songs, they’re playing instruments and singing for real on microphones and not just, you know, basically karaoke at their shows. I kind of feel like, “What took you so long!” Little by little, the glass ceiling that I guess we broke just opened up better channels for more women to have the bravery to step out.

I love those new female artists. I love to listen to a lot of these albums that they’re making, and I’m excited for the new Taylor Swift album. I watched the Eras Tour and I really love the fact that she does an acoustic bit all by herself. It’s such a global event, her show, but to make a point of doing that inside of her show was actually really amazing and cool of her to do. She’s a great songwriter. I think the biggest problem she might have is that she’s so extremely good looking. You know, people have jealous reactions to that stuff like that. I know Courtney Love is not a fan. I’ve been a friend of Courtney Love, but I disagree with her opinion about that.

Courtney Love did so much, but she also has a lot of opinions.

It’s her job to have the punk ethics and push against what’s popular in the culture. And that’s why she’s great. She’s written great songs. All hail Courtney Love, but I consider Taylor Swift to be very important at this time in our culture.

I wanted to ask you about when you first started. One of the artists that you mentioned as an influence in that Howard Stern clip was Led Zeppelin.

Right. We didn’t have female role models. There weren’t any women out there really doing rock and roll. We wanted to be the Beatles first, and then we wanted to be Led Zeppelin. Being military brats, we didn’t have any problems just doing it, no matter whether you expected it or not. We didn’t need anyone’s permission to rock. I actually just made a sign that says, “PERMISSION TO ROCK!” I’m going to try and work it into the show to ask the audience: “Do we have permission to rock?” And everybody would say “Yeah!”

A couple months ago I wrote about Ladies Rock Camp , where women learn confidence through playing instruments in rock bands. We did an exercise where we wrote ourselves permission slips, like asking ourselves what we would give ourselves permission to do —

That is cool!

If you could go back in time, are there things that you wish you’d given yourself permission to do sooner?

Giving ourselves permission to join [the band] The Army and see the world in a rock band, the thing that you have to sacrifice to choose that life is, “What about starting a family? What about being a mom?” In a lucrative business situation, when do you tell everyone and all of their families that you want to stop and start your family? And then resume the business? So that was one of the biggest challenges and balancing acts and the bigger struggle that I faced later, after the Heart thing was really huge. And I was like, “Wait a second. I’m going to start a family pretty soon. My biological clock, you know, has almost dried out.” But that it worked out for me. I took control of my destiny and I did it the way I needed to do it. And then I got back in the band, and then my kids were old enough to go on my bus on tour with me. As a woman, I think that was the most challenging to balance out.

It just sounds like during these different phases of your life, the way you tour and do your job must have changed so much.

Yeah. The landscape of being on a rock and roll tour, the way we do it. We don’t have pre-record. We really do everything live, in person, on the spot, one time only. We have skin in the game. So being as healthy as possible and resting as much as you can is a really huge part of getting that rock on.

We just kind of choose to do the old fashioned method of showing up and doing it — singing, really singing, really playing. Sometimes when stuff happens, it’s not perfect. Like, somebody goes, “Whoops! Stop the train, we’ve got to start the song over again.” That happened to us on New Year’s Eve in Seattle and we had to start over again. And people loved it. It’s like, “Wow, it’s real!” It’s more of an unusual situation nowadays to see something that is completely authentic.

Imagining yourself at the age you are now, did you ever think, “I’m still going to be doing it on my terms with my sister?”

I kind of did always think that like, interestingly, as a little kid wannabe rock star. Before the first album came out and it region-by-region gradually got big, and we played in every place that had electricity in order to put it on the map, I always thought it was going to work because we were proficient musicians and Ann’s voice is so unusually good, you know? She has a rock ‘n’ roll voice that’s on the level of Chris Cornell. It’s on the level of a Robert Plant and she got a lot from Plant as a singer. I got a lot from Jimmy Page as a guitar player. We felt we had what it took, and we weren’t afraid to give ourselves permission and just go for it.

When I told people this week I would be talking to you, at least three different women I talked to said, “Ask about the ‘Stairway to Heaven’ cover from 2012! What was it like to play for them?” Why do you think your performance honoring Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center has had such a staying power with people?

I love that that’s become its own iconic viral sort of thing. Everyone who sees it for the first time is really strongly affected. And I think one of the reasons why is there’s been a growing sense of a lack of continuity in rock ‘n’ roll and pop music, where people are kind of grabbing back onto their legacy acts. There’s a lot of bands that are going back out — like Heart, like Def Leppard and Billy Joel . There’s a sense of family, like historic musical family, that people have felt was missing before.

So when you see a song like “Stairway to Heaven” presented in such a gloriously powerful fashion with all the reveal after reveal after reveal after reveal, the way the Kennedy Center musical direction had planned it so beautifully, then I think it made a deeper impression than just how cool the moment was. I think it was the longing for a familiar musical territory that goes meaningfully forward through the timeline of music history. That’s my thesis.

Heart’s Royal Flush Tour comes to Amalie Arena in Tampa at 8 p.m. on Friday. Cheap Trick will open. Tickets are still available via Ticketmaster.com, with prices starting at $31.25 (excluding fees). www.heart-music.com .

Paramore's Hayley Williams Is 'So Ready' for Eras Tour Amid Taylor Swift's 'Impressive' 'TTPD' Album Release

Hayley Williams is ready to hit the road with longtime pal, Taylor Swift ! The Paramore  frontwoman gushed over Swift's new album, The Tortured Poets Department , while offering a tease of the band's upcoming Eras Tour run.

The 35-year-old musician took to her Instagram Story on Monday, after enjoying an electric Record Store Day over the weekend, to share a handful of her current favorite albums. Unsurprisingly, Swift's TTPD made the list.

"Had me from the storytelling alone, my friend," Williams wrote. "Every one of us knows this kind of grief! It's so impressive to me how specific and colorful Taylor's words get without ever losing the universal thread. I'm so ready to be tour-mates."

Also receiving honorable mentions from Williams were Beyoncé 's  Cowboy Carter , Brittany Howard's What Now , Rufus Wainwright's Want One , Bee Gees' Main Course , Tierra Whack's World Wide Whack , Radiohead's The Bends , The Smile's Wall of Eyes , Blonde Redhead's Sit Down for Dinner  and Idles' Tangk .

Paramore is set to open for Swift on her Eras Tour when it resumes on May 9 in Paris, France. The band will continue to tour with her through her remaining international tour dates, which includes a whopping eight shows at London's Wembley Stadium .

The dates come less than a year after Paramore's headlining This Is Why tour was derailed due to a lung infection for Williams. At the time, Williams shared with fans that she would be using her downtime to "dive head first into creating some better routines" and getting back into "the creative process."

"For me, when we get into this mode it always feels nice to disappear in a way," she admitted in a post on Discord . "Maybe this time I will be able to find balance between the disappearing and yet not completely shutting out the world. But probably not."

It was last summer that Swift, 34, announced that Williams' band would be joining her on the Eras Tour around the same time she dropped  Speak Now (Taylor's Version) . On the rerecorded full-length, Williams is featured on the from-the-vault track, "Castles Crumbling."

"Really can’t contain my excitement because… we’re adding 14 new shows to The Eras Tour," Swift shared in July 2023. "And I get to travel the world doing shows with Paramore!! Hayley and I have been friends since we were teens in Nashville and now we get to frolic around the UK/Europe next summer??? I’m screaming???"

In  a recent interview  with  Jimmy Fallon on  The Tonight Show , Williams spilled details on how she and Swift first became friends back in 2008.

"Me and Taylor met because both of us -- Paramore and Taylor -- were nominated for Best New Artist the same year at the GRAMMYS," she said.

Though the late Amy Winehouse took the trophy that night, Williams and Swift ended up at the same after-party.

"We were at some GRAMMY party -- it was actually Timbaland's GRAMMY party. [It was] huge. I was very nervous," Williams recalled. "But a woman came up to me and she said, 'I'm Taylor Swift's mom and, you know, Taylor doesn't have a lot of friends her age that do music. And I would love to, like, you know, introduce you guys or get your number or whatever.'"

"So Andrea, the legend that she is, she connected us," Williams added, referencing Taylor's mom, Andrea Swift.

Swift's 11th studio album,  The Tortured Poets D epartment , and its lead single, " Fortnight " featuring  Post Malone , were released on Friday to much fanfare.

In terms of traditional album sales,  Billboard  reports that Swift's  TTPD  sold 1.4 million copies --  including CD, vinyl, cassette and digital download versions -- in its first day alone. This surpasses her own biggest sales week, when  1989 (Taylor's Version)  sold 1.359 million copies. All signs indicate that  TTPD  will be making a massive, record-shattering debut when tracking for its first week concludes on Thursday, April 25.

The 31-track collection --  which turned out to be a surprise double album  -- features a hefty helping of  heartbreak songs  following her splits from  Joe Alwyn  and  Matty Healy , as well as a few  sweet love songs  amid her current relationship with  Travis Kelce .

"She has put her heart and soul into the music, just like with everything she does," a source told ET about the album, "and can't wait for her fans to listen to it and to share it with them."
