On the one hand, it’s easy to be tempted to think that any band best known for a cover version are probably of dubious worth creatively, but that couldn’t be further from the truth where The Futureheads are concerned; sure, the track they’re most readily associated with is Kate Bush’s ‘Hounds of Love’ after they put their own stamp on it back in 2004, but in the following decade, they’ve continued to push the envelope artistically - not least on their fifth album, Rant, which was entirely a capella, with just vocals and no conventional instrumentation of any kind. In support of the album, they toured a capella, too, playing at concert halls rather than conventional rock clubs and extending the concept to their back catalogue, reinterpreting old tracks according to the new album’s concept; the gigs met with a strong critical response. Since then, they’ve gone back to what they know, playing standard rock shows as they prepare material for album number six; they still have a fervent cult fanbase, and remain a popular festival booking, turning ‘Hounds of Love’ into an exercise in mass audience participation and defying the demise of the scene they emerged from with tight, high-energy sets.

Wherever The Futureheads go, and whatever they do next I’m afraid to say they’ll be followed by plenty of “oh-ohoh-oh-ohohs”. Thanks to their superb cover of Kate Bush’s ‘Hounds of Love’, they’ll always be remembered for THAT SONG. The Sunderland four-piece shot to critical acclaim in 2004 thanks to their self-titled debut album, winning plenty of awards along the way for their mix of post-punk and three/four part harmonies. There can be no doubt the band know their way around a great pop song, following that record up with two more consistent albums in the form of News and Tributes and This Is Not The World. The band has been a lot quieter of late when it comes to playing live, perhaps seeking to distance themselves from certain songs, but it’d be a sad day if a show by The Futureheads didn’t contain the stop-start dynamics of ‘Decent Days and Nights’, the aggressive ‘The Beginning of the Twist’ and of course the standard set-closer of ‘Hounds of Love’. Barry Hyde and co might also treat you to some acapella or acoustic versions of some of their tracks, just showing off some excellent voices in the process. They may not escape that song, but really why should they want to when crowds continue to have a great time listening?

Unhappy with life on a major label, the band set up their own Nul Records and released This Is Not The World (2008) and The Chaos (2010). Aerosmith, The Black Crowes announce new tour dates. Get tickets to Indianapolis concert

The long-anticipated Aerosmith "Peace Out: Farewell Tour" is back after a postponement due to a vocal injury to Steven Tyler, the lead singer.

Aerosmith announced new tour dates on April 10, and the "Peace Out" tour, featuring The Black Crowes, will rock the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Jan. 16, 2025, towards the end of tour dates. The tour begins on Sept. 20 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and concludes on Feb. 26, 2025, in Buffalo, New York.

The tour, which kicked off in September 2023, was postponed due to a vocal injury experienced by lead singer. The band posted on Instagram on Sept. 29, 2023, telling fans shows wouldn't continue until 2024.

"To our fans: Unfortunately, Steven’s vocal injury is more serious than initially thought. His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he fractured his larynx which requires ongoing care. He is receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure his recovery is swift, but given the nature of a fracture, he is being told patience is essential," according to the caption.

The band posted again on April 10 revealing new tour dates.  "All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the rescheduled shows – you’ll receive more info via email. Tickets for the rescheduled dates & newly added shows go on sale Fri 4/12 @ 10AM local at aerosmith.com," according to the caption.

Aerosmith and The Black Crowes is scheduled for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2025, at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse, located at 125 S Pennsylvania St. in Indianapolis. Tickets go on sale on Friday at 10 a.m. Click here to learn more.

Back to the Future Completes Casting for Its North American Tour

The complete cast is set for the North American tour of  Back to the Future: The Musical,  opening June 14 at Cleveland’s Playhouse Square following preview performances starting June 6 at Proctors in Schenectady, NY. The production will travel to over 25 cities, with additional stops to be announced.

As previously announced , the tour will star Caden Brauch and Don Stephenson as Marty McFly and Doc Brown, respectively. Joining them in the company will be Burke Swanson as George McFly, Zan Berube as Lorraine Baines, Cartreze Tucker as Goldie Wilson/Marvin Berry, Ethan Rogers as Biff Tannen and Luke Antony Neville as Principal Strickland. Ensemble members include Joshua Abbott, Emily Applebaum, Tade Biesinger, Ina Black, Brittany Bohn, Luther Brooks IV, Alyssa Carol, Jenny Dalrymple, Laura Sky Herman, Will Jewett, Ben Lanham, Kiara Lee, Dwayne P. Mitchell, Zoe Brooke Reed, Fisher Lane Stewart and Ross Thompson.

Back to the Future , based on the 1985 film of the same name, is currently running on Broadway at the Winter Garden Theatre where it opened on August 3, 2023. The musical has a book by Bob Gale, new music and lyrics by Emmy and Grammy Award-winning Alan Silvestri and six-time Grammy Award-winning Glen Ballard, with additional songs from the film including “The Power of Love” and “Johnny B. Goode.” Gale is the co-creator and co-writer of the  Back to the Future  film trilogy and Alan Silvestri composed the iconic film score for the series.
