The 8 Most Trusted Travel Brands In The U.S.

With that in mind, for the first time, Newsweek, in collaboration with market research partner Statista (a Germany-based research company. They’ve been around since 2007), ranked America’s Most Trusted Companies in 22 industries:

  • Aerospace & defense
  • Appliances & electronics
  • Automotive & components
  • Construction
  • Consulting & professional services
  • Consumer goods
  • Energy & utilities
  • Financial services
  • Food & beverage
  • Health care & life sciences
  • Machines & industrial equipment
  • Materials & chemicals
  • Media & entertainment
  • Real estate & housing
  • Software & telecommunications
  • Technology hardware
  • Textiles, clothing & luxury goods
  • Transport, logistics & packaging
  • Travel, dining & leisure

Here’s how they came up with their rankings:

We looked at publicly traded U.S. corporations in 22 industries with $500 million or more in annual revenues and then surveyed 50,000 U.S. residents. Respondents were asked about companies they knew well and were, asked among other things, if they believed individual companies treated their customers fairly, treated their employees fairly and would be good long-term investments. The result is a list of 400 companies Americans trust the most, ranked by industry. We’ve also noted the state where each is based.

Of course, with such a broad topic such as “travel, dining and leisure,” not all of the 17 “winners” were actually in the travel business – some were restaurants, and non-travel entities such as movie theater chains and gaming were in the mix.

Here’s the list:

17. Wynn Resorts 16. Bluegreen Vacations (timeshare) 15. Texas Roadhouse (restaurant brand) 14. AMC entertainment (movie theater) 13. Penn National Gaming (gaming) 12. TravelCenters of America (truck stop) 11. Choice Hotels International 10. The Cheesecake Factory (restaurant brand) 9. Hyatt Hotels 8. Regis Corporation (hair salon) 7. Brinker International (restaurant conglomerate) 6. Caesars Entertainment 5. Hilton Worldwide 4. Bloomin’ Brands (restaurant conglomerate) 3. Starbucks (restaurant brand) 2. Liberty Tripadvisor 1. Marriott International

So of the top 17, the ones that were actually “travel” were 4 hotel chains, 2 casino chains, an online travel agency and a timeshare.

Our take on this

Frankly, I think they did a disservice to every single category by making them too broad. For example, travel, dining & leisure could easily have been 3 separate categories. And how did a HAIR SALON get included in the mix??? Getting your hair cut is a leisure activity? No, it’s grooming.

And wait…airlines are listed under transport? (by the way, of the 22 winners in that category, Alaska Air was #11, Delta Air Lines was #19, and #22 was…FRONTIER AIRLINES?!?!?! For being trustworthy? Have they not ever heard of the I Hate Frontier Airlines group on Facebook?) Not travel?

Also, although some of the categories would be ones that almost everyone would know, how many people of their random sample would be familiar enough with, say, construction, consulting & professional services, or aerospace & defense, to vote on them? Would anyone outside the state of Texas know about Magnolia Oil & Gas? And really, how many people in the U.S. are going to have a working knowledge of Century Aluminum, American Tower, or Unifi? How equitable is it when you have those brands getting how many fewer votes than, say, Starbucks, because only niche groups of people would be familiar with them?

I was already skeptical when they referred to their ranking as the “first annual.” There’s no such thing as “first annual” – it can’t be an annual event until it’s already happened at least one other time. “First ever?” Yes. “Inaugural?” Absolutely. “First annual?” Nope.

Well, it is what it is. But I take this one with a grain of salt.

The 14-figure sums can be broken down into three types of travel transactions, Bloomberg notes. Direct travel spending includes things like hotels, tours, and transportation, as well as public investment in these types of services. Indirect travel spending covers the expenses of those businesses, such as sheets and towels or the ingredients for the breakfast buffet. Finally, induced spending accounts for the trickle-down effects of hospitality employees.

In total, 142 out of the 185 surveyed countries are expected to exceed their 2019 tourism performance levels in 2024. Almost all nations are expected to see year-over-year growth, too. As a result, records are likely to be broken on a local level as well as a global.

We’ve got your back – support for travel agents only available from 8pm to 9 am est 7 days a week outside these hours please contact our call centre, name corrections.

Most airlines won’t let you change the name of a flight ticket to a different person, but you may be able to correct the name. In order to process the name correction with the airline, we will need a copy of the passenger’s passport or valid travel documents with full name and date of birth present. Once we get that information, we’ll work with the airline and then get back to you with an update and any next steps. If your booking is with multiple airlines, keep in mind that there may be separate change policies for each. Name corrections are not free – please be prepared to pay the appropriate fees.

Voluntary Flight Changes

Before you initiate a date/flight/origin/destination change, please be sure to review the Airline rules + restrictions in your client’s itinerary to see what the airline will let you do and what are the fees associated with flight changes. Basic Economy or Light fares: The airline won’t let you make changes. Not sure if you booked one of these fares? Check the flight confirmation email or itinerary for details on your booked airfare. Flight/date/origin/destination changes are not free – please be prepared to pay the appropriate fees.

Involuntary Airline Initiated Flight Changes

Airlines may change their flight schedule for various reasons, and it is absolutely out of our control. We will work with the airline to find the best possible option for your client’s trip. After we confirm the changes with you and the airline approves them, we will email you your updated travel itinerary. We recommend that the passenger checks their itinerary at least 72 hours before the departure date for any unexpected changes. If your client has made upgrades or additions to the original flight directly with the airline – they will have to contact the airline. Involuntary flight changes are free if your new flight is rebooked in accordance with the airline schedule change policy.

Cancel Your Flight

Before you cancel your client’s flight, please be sure to review the Airline rules + restrictions on the booking confirmation to see what the airline will let you do and what are the fees associated with flight cancellations. Non-refundable fares: Fare rules are subject to the airlines’ Cancellation policies and apply at all times. Cancellation within 24 hours – some airlines may not let you cancel the flight that close to departure. If your client does not show for their outbound flight – most airlines will cancel the whole itinerary. It is imperative to cancel the flight if your client is unable to travel. No-show fees are high, and, in some cases, the whole ticket will be forfeited.

Booking Failure

When your booking is firmed and ticketed you will receive a confirmation email and e-ticket for your reference. Travel + Leisure / Reese Herrington

We’re just a few days into April, and I’m happy to report that spring travel style is officially in full swing. As I get ready to embark on my upcoming trips, I've been doing a little spring cleaning to rid my closet and travel bags of old clothes and accessories so I can replace them with new must-haves for the season. And while the hunt for the top-of-the-line travel essentials can be an adventure in itself, fortunately, I can always rely on Amazon to continually deliver the biggest and brightest in terms of travel essentials.

In fact, the retailer just updated its massive catalog with hundreds of new arrivals that I’m feeling particularly excited about, complete with durable luggage sets and comfortable two-piece outfits . There’s plenty to shop, so I’ve curated a list of the 11 best travel products that just hit Amazon’s virtual shelves.

Darong Women’s Lounge Two-piece Set

There’s something so alluring about a matching set. Aside from the next-level comfort that it provides, it’s also a sure-fire way to ensure that you look put together on even the most hectic travel days. In fact, this newly dropped set is crafted with an ultra-soft fabric and easy-breezy design, making it the perfect ensemble for any journey (that can do double duty as an airplane outfit, workout fit, pajama set, swim cover-up, and more) — and not to mention that it’s available for just $40.

Teriveek Oversized Striped Crewneck Sweater

Despite the gradual increase in temperatures, there’s still a briskness in the air, which means that you shouldn’t completely devoid your wardrobe of long-sleeve tops and sweaters yet. Keeping that in mind, this oversized striped sweater is the perfect top to get you through this transitional season in style. Even better, it's on sale for a limited time for just $28.

Fochier Hardshell 3-piece Luggage Set

Every trip and destination may look different, but one thing that’s for sure is that every traveler needs a reliable suitcase. Fortunately, this freshly released Amazon set comes with three suitcases: a carry-on, medium-sized checked bag, and large checked bag for each and every trip that you have planned. In addition to getting three bags for the price of one, the suitcases in this set are sturdy, lightweight, feature TSA-approved locks, and multi-directional spinning wheels. What more could you want?

Real Essentials Men’s Mesh Running Shorts Set

These 100 percent polyester mesh shorts are the breathable, sweat-wicking bottoms that you need to get your wardrobe in shape for spring. Aside from their travel-friendly specs (lightweight fabric, adjustable drawstring waistband, and comfortable fit), at just $35 for a set of four, these are undoubtedly one of the best new arrivals and deals of the season. And they come in eight different color combinations for customizable wear.

E.l.f Squeeze Me Lip Balm

This lip balm came out last summer and has quickly become a fan-favorite in the beauty community. With its recent launch at Amazon, travelers and skincare enthusiasts alike can  stock up on this top-rated lip balm just in time for spring. I’m among the many fans of this lip balm, and have even found that it outperforms plenty of the more expensive products in its category. Infused with hyaluronic acid, shea butter, goji berry, and other beneficial ingredients for the lips, this $4 beauty find is essential for keeping your pout nourished during extended travel periods.

Zimfem Portable Camping Chair

Even though this portable camping chair is new to Amazon's outdoor gear scene, it's already accrued hundreds of perfect ratings from shoppers, including one who loved that “it folds and compacts neatly, and is light… I can see myself using this chair all the time for camping, beach outings, hiking, and other adventures.” It's not a bad idea to grab this convenient, under-5-pound camping chair — especially while it's $10 off for a limited time.

OutdoorMaster Beach Tent

You can apply and reapply as much sunscreen as you’d like, but for more robust sun protection, you should really consider adding this UPF 50 beach tent to your gear repertoire. This waterproof tent not only shields you from the sun, but also offers a reprieve from the heat with its shading and ventilation features. Amazon is already a top retailer for innovative warm-weather products, and this genius beach shade is a testament to just that.

Glmnes Inflatable Sleeping Pad

It can be quite the task to get a restful night of sleep when you're away from home, especially on a camping trip. Thankfully, that’s a problem of the past with this new inflatable sleeping pad that shoppers rave gives them “ ultimate comfort anywhere .” Crafted with a heavy duty and waterproof nylon material, this sleeping pad is not only intended to give you a good night of sleep wherever you are, but to withstand adverse weather conditions and rough terrain.

Yuclet Portable Water Filtration Straw Set

As a traveler who always packs with preparedness in mind, I make sure to keep a water filtration straw in my bag in case I run out of water. As you can imagine, I was thrilled to see this on-sale set of four available at Amazon for just $30. These straws boast a four-stage filtration system that effectively eliminates microplastics, waterborne bacteria, and various other contaminants.

Oura Ring Gen3 Horizon

The Oura Ring made its debut back in 2015 and changed the way that we take charge of our personal health and fitness goals. It's now officially launched at Amazon, and if you’ve been hesitant about giving this gadget a try for yourself, allow T+L 's senior commerce writer Merrell Readman to explain what makes the buzzy product so great: “I've always been really particular about my sleep and I love having in-depth data that shows me how my daily habits impact my rest. I'm also someone that struggles to take rest days, but since I got my Oura ring, I've been more intentional about prioritizing down time because I have the data to see what a life of constant motion does to my stress levels.” Compatible with iOS and Android devices, this smart ring tracks your stress levels, heart rate, and can even tell you when you’re about to get sick thanks to its intelligent biometric tracking system.

Astylish Women’s Oversized Waffle Knit Shirt

Amazon is well-known for refreshing its shelves with fashionable pieces every season, and this waffle knit shirt is no exception. I’ve been a waffle knit fiend lately, so the moment that I spotted this top in the new arrivals section, I promptly added it to my cart. It’ll keep you warm on drafty flights and brisk mornings, but thanks to its breathable material, it won't have you overheating. Even though it quite literally just launched, I already know that it is going to become a fashion-favorite among shoppers (including myself) this spring.

Adani-backed indian airport retailer rebrands to ospree in quest for global shopping empire.

MTRPL will be rebranding its seven airport duty-free locations in India with the Ospree logo.

The CEO of India’s Mumbai Travel Retail Pvt Ltd (MTRPL) expects to take to the global stage now that it has a new corporate branding: Ospree. The move pulls together the company’s disparate duty-free operations at seven airports in India and will make it easier to bid for contracts globally.

The rebrand integrates all of MTRPL’s airport duty-free businesses led by Mumbai, the company’s flagship location with a growing reputation for whisky retailing; as well as Ahmedabad; Amritsar; Jaipur; Lucknow; Mangalore; and Thiruvananthapuram.

The new name, Ospree, is also easier for potential concession partners to understand in terms of both storytelling and for MTRPL to define its strategy in the global duty-free shopping arena. The name is derived from two words: the migratory osprey bird of prey that has adapted to living in all continents (except Antarctica); and spree, which describes a big shopping expedition.

MTRPL’s expansion ambitions are backed by big financial muscle. The company is owned, through joint venture, by one of India’s biggest listed conglomerates, infrastructure group Adani (with a majority share), controlled by billionaire Gautam Adani ; and Flemingo Travel Retail, a duty-free company operating in 137 locations in 26 countries through airport stores, diplomatic stores, and UN Commissary services, among others.

In the just-published Forbes 2024 Billionaires List , Gautam Adani is ranked 17 th with $84 billion, second behind Mukesh Ambani among India’s now 200-strong billionaires.

Best High-Yield Savings Accounts Of 2024

Best 5% interest savings accounts of 2024.

Adani’s airport unit—Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL)—also became the biggest airport operator in India in mid-2021 when it took a majority stake in Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International. This has helped MTRPL’s expansion in the Indian travel retail sector; apart from Amritsar, where operations started in January 2024, the rest of the retailer’s airport locations are owned by AAHL and all seven will be rebranded Ospree in due course.

First European entry

The retailer has now won its first concession outside India with a deal to run the duty-free business at Eurotunnel’s French terminal in Coquelles near Calais in France. Eurotunnel is the operator (until 2086) of the Channel Tunnel infrastructure through which LeShuttle freight and passenger services (on cars and coaches) run between Folkestone in the U.K., and Calais. Eurotunnel was awarded its concession by the British and French governments on March 14, 1986.

Eurotunnel gave the contract to Le Marché Duty-Free, a subsidiary of MTRPL, in mid-March following an open tender process that started in September 2023. The award was made before Ospree was established so it is unlikely the name will be used when the business is handed over from the incumbent Avolta at the end of this month.

Avishek Bambii Das, CEO of MTRPL told me: “Avolta has been very helpful in every aspect of this handover and we are excited by the prospect of our first store in Europe.” It was, in fact, the Eurotunnel tender process that convinced Das that MTRPL needed a global consumer-facing brand. “We realized that the Le Marché name is great for a French project but might not work in other geographies. We needed an overall rebranding which we started in January,” said Das.

Avishek Bambii Das: “Any opportunity in an overseas location where we find the airport to be ... [+] attractive, we will be going for those bids.”

Deborah Merrens, Eurotunnel’s chief commercial officer, commented: “The reintroduction of duty-free services for passengers traveling to the U.K. has created a substantial opportunity to redesign engagement with passengers and drive sales.”

The store will cover around 800 square meters of duty-free space within the passenger terminal building, as well as around 75 square meters in the freight terminal serving the duty-free needs of lorry drivers for the first time. The concession does not include the terminal at Folkestone on the British side of the tunnel.

Other targets

So which other targets does MTRPL have in its sights? “There are bids coming up very soon but they are not yet officially announced. So it’s a little too early to talk about that. Essentially, any opportunity in an overseas location where we find the airport to be attractive, we will be going for those bids,” said Das.

MTRPL is also finalizing strategic partnerships in order to develop weightier bids for some of these retail concessions. “These strategic partnerships will help us get into more geographies than we could if we were to do it alone,” Das added.

In India, where the airport business and privatizations are expanding fast , MTRPL is looking to extract more from existing locations and move into sectors like seaports where, by early May, the company will have six retail businesses in place. They will all be at Adani-run ports where the main customers will largely be staff working on commercial freight liners.

MTRPL’s growth, according to Das, has been much faster than passenger growth in the past year at close to 50%. “That’s massive and it also means that our spend per passenger (SPP) has been the highest ever,” said Das. This gives Ospree a solid platform from which to take flight.

  • 12/23/2023 12/19/2023

You’ve turned your wanderlust into a thriving passion project, capturing the essence of travel with every post and story. What if you could take it a step further? Imagine leveraging your love for exploration into profitable travel brand collaborations . Imagine aligning with airlines, boutique hotels, and outdoor gear companies that share your adventurous spirit. By forming partnerships with travel brands , you open doors to a world where your travel experiences not only inspire others but also reward you.

With the right approach, these collaboration opportunities for travel brands could afford you the luxury of traveling even more extensively. As a travel brand ambassador or influencer, you dive into the heart of travel industry collaborations , carving a niche for yourself as an authentic voice in a bustling market. The key is finding those unique travel influencer partnerships that resonate with your audience and reflect your personal brand. Let’s venture into the landscape of collaborative potential together and chart the course for success in the travel arena.

Understanding the Essence of Travel Brand Collaboration

At the heart of successful brand collaborations in travel lies the ability to form a compelling narrative around the shared goals of increased visibility and elevated sales. As a travel influencer or blogger, your firsthand experiences harness the power to embolden a travel brand’s message, turning curious browsers into loyal customers. This synergistic relationship blooms through various outlets like affiliate marketing , sponsored content , brand ambassadorship , engaging press trips , and insightful product reviews .

Understanding and executing travel brand collaboration strategies begin with transparency. It’s imperative to communicate your partnerships with brands in clear terms, particularly when you endorse products or services through affiliate marketing . Platforms such as Travelpayouts allow you to secure commissions for sales made via your unique affiliate links, ensuring your audience knows exactly why you’re recommending a particular service or product.

Creating sponsored content necessitates a harmonious blend between your unique style and the travel brand’s objectives, all within the bounds of SEO best practices. This not only aids in boosting organic traffic but also fortifies your credibility as a content creator. Through brand ambassadorship , you have the opportunity to represent brands that resonate with your persona, extending their reach through your established platforms.

Essential to enriching these affiliations are press trips and product reviews . The former offers a real-world snapshot into the luxe life promised by travel companies, while the latter provides your audience with candid feedback on travel-related commodities. Both are integral in sculpting a reliable image and fostering trust among your followers.

  • Affiliate marketing requires clarity about the nature of advertisement on your platform.
  • Sponsored content must align with both your brand ethos and the partnering entity’s expectations.
  • As a brand ambassador, your role is to personify the brand’s identity in an authentic manner.
  • Press trips are avenues for storytelling, enabling you to share your travel experiences with a personal touch.
  • Product reviews should be honest appraisals that accommodate your readers’ reliance on your guidance.

By adhering to these fundamental elements within travel brand collaboration strategies , you pave a path toward lucrative campaigns that benefit not just you and the brand involved, but your audience as well. An informed, sincere approach in affiliate marketing and content creation fosters an environment where everyone shares in the success.

Different Types of Travel Partnerships

As a travel enthusiast looking to monetize your blog or social media, you’ll find that there are several travel brand collaboration types to explore. Each comes with specific benefits and considerations, whether it’s earning through recommendations as an affiliate marketer , sharing your expertise through sponsored content strategies , engaging deeply with brands as a brand ambassador , or even uncovering unique travel brand collaboration opportunities .

To help navigate these waters, here’s an insightful look into the possibilities and how they can fit seamlessly into your content while enhancing your readers’ experience.

Travel Brand Collaboration Types

  • Affiliate Marketing: A straightforward way to begin. By placing affiliate links within your posts, you can earn a commission for each sale made through your referral.
  • Sponsored Content: This strategy involves creating content that naturally integrates a brand’s message or product, for which you are compensated.
  • Brand Ambassador Programs: For a more long-term commitment, becoming a brand ambassador can offer consistent perks and payments.
  • Ad Placements in Travel Blogging: Strategically incorporating ads in your blog can generate income while also adding value to your readers if they’re relevant to their interests.
  • Brand Mentions: Sometimes a simple mention within high-quality content can boost a brand’s presence while maintaining the organic flow of your article.

Choosing the right type of partnership is crucial. You’ll need to consider your audience’s preferences, your brand values, and the potential for a genuine connection with the travel brand. A successful collaboration should integrate seamlessly into your existing content, highlight your unique voice, and offer real value to both your audience and the brand.

Remember, success in travel brand collaborations is not just about short-term gains but building sustainable, rewarding partnerships that resonate with your wandering spirit and adventurous audience.

Travel Brand Collaboration Strategies for Maximum Impact

Building a substantial online presence in travel is pivotal for maximizing travel brand collaboration impact. To achieve this, you need to employ effective travel influencer partnerships strategies that go beyond typical advertising efforts. Creating content that truly resonates both with your ethos and the essence of the collaborative brand ensures that campaigns leave a lasting impression on your audience.

One of the primary methods for leveraging collaboration in the travel industry is through strategic cross-promotion. By aligning with brands that share a similar target demographic, you can tap into new audiences, providing mutual benefits for both your online presence and the brand’s reach. Consider employing tactics such as guest posting across platforms, co-hosting virtual events, or engaging in social media takeovers to heighten the partnership’s visibility.

It’s equally important to foster personal connections with your audience. As your community trusts your recommendations, so too will they be inclined to trust the brands you partner with. To further amplify this trust, transparent and sincere affiliations are essential. Highlighting genuine experiences and honest opinions about travel products or services not only builds credibility but also drives engagement and conversation, creating a ripple effect of organic, user-generated content that can significantly boost SEO and brand awareness.

  • Cultivate a network of travel brands and influencers
  • Identify shared values and audience overlap
  • Engage in cross-promotional tactics to expand reach
  • Create authentic content that resonates with your personal brand and travel partners
  • Encourage audience interaction to generate user-generated content

Always remember, successful collaborations are nurtured over time. By consistently engaging with the travel community and maintaining strong links with travel brands and industry influencers, you set the stage for partnerships that not only yield short-term gains but also pave the way for ongoing opportunities and an enduring presence in the travel domain.

Identifying and Pitching to Potential Travel Brand Partners

The quest for lucrative travel brand partnerships begins with the adeptness in pitching to travel brands . Your ability to open doors to potential collaborations largely depends on how effectively you present your platform to appeal to specific travel businesses. Whether you are reaching out to a serene beach resort or an energetic urban tour operator, the subtleties of your approach can make a world of difference.

Creating a media kit that exemplifies your brand’s essence, your audience demographics, and previous successful collaborations will serve as the foundation of your pitch. This is your story, professionally packaged, providing travel brands with a tangible impression of who you are and what you can offer them. Consider the media kit as a resume that has just one goal: to make travel brands want to work with you.

When it’s time to establish contact, elaborate email pitches should be your weapon of choice. These emails must grab attention, communicate value, and spark interest within the first few lines. In fact, they need to be compelling enough to persuade busy brand managers to consider your travel brand partnership proposals . This isn’t the time to be generic; tailor your pitch to speak directly to the brand’s goals, audience, and marketing strategies.

Influence is not about elevating self, but about lifting others.

Remember, while influencer outreach strategies are about forming connections, it’s the sustained relationships that pay dividends. Hence, consider every pitch as an entry point to a long-term collaboration. Prioritize quality interactions and patient follow-up schedules. This approach will not only exhibit professional sincerity but will also help you stand out in a sea of proposals.

  • Understand the brand’s mission and values.
  • Showcase how your audience aligns with their target market.
  • Illustrate past partnership successes with analytics and anecdotes.
  • Suggest creative and customized campaign ideas.
  • Be upfront about expectations, but also flexible and open to negotiations.

To sum up, securing your coveted travel brand deal requires more than a mere presence; it necessitates a strategy, a touch of creativity, and a dash of persistence. Go forth with these tips embedded in your toolkit, and the world of travel brand collaborations will open its arms to you.

The Value of Authenticity in Travel Influencer Partnerships

As a travel influencer, one of your most valuable assets is the trust you have built with your audience. This trust is the foundation upon which authenticity in travel influencer partnerships rests. When you partake in collaborations, it’s not just about showcasing a brand; it’s about weaving a narrative that reflects your genuine experiences. That’s why transparent travel brand collaborations are more than a best practice—they’re a must. Your audience values honesty, and they’ll appreciate knowing when content is sponsored or when you are endorsing something because of a partnership. This transparency doesn’t diminish your recommendations; instead, it elevates your integrity in the eyes of your followers.

Maintaining this level of genuineness and genuine travel content creation isn’t always easy, but it pays dividends. By staying true to your personal style and preferences, your content naturally resonates with those who follow you. These are the people who look to you not just for inspiration, but also for guidance on what products to try, places to visit, and experiences to seek out. Building trust with your travel audience isn’t an overnight achievement; it takes time and consistent effort. Your commitment to authenticity is what will help you forge lasting connections with both your followers and travel brands alike.

In the ever-evolving travel industry, transparent and authentic partnerships stand as a beacon of reliability that can weather the tide of changing trends. When you engage in transparent travel brand collaborations , you create a culture of trust that attracts more than just likes and shares—it builds a community of engaged travelers who value your opinion and look forward to your next adventure. So as you chart your course in this landscape, remember that your authentic self isn’t just your best self—it’s your key to a successful and sustainable career in the competitive world of travel influencing.

What Travel Brand Partnerships Should I Be On The Lookout For To Expand My Business?

  • Business Management

Looking for a ticket to success for your travel business?

Establishing the right travel brand partnerships could be your answer. Travel business partnerships can help you add more value to your customers while expanding the reach of your business.

This method doesn't have to cost you anything, so it's an ideal marketing solution for travel businesses of all sizes.

When it comes to creating these partnerships, there are a couple of things you need to be aware of. Most importantly, you need to understand the two types of partnerships that exist. This is necessary for being able to find the right brands to collaborate with.

In this guide, we’ll cover everything your travel business needs to know about successful travel brand partnerships. This includes the type of brands you should look for when it comes to creating these key relationships.

51 tools to grow your travel business e-book on an iPad

Understanding Travel Brand Partnerships

Travel brand partnerships are the result of one company collaborating with another brand for some kind of special promotion or offer. The right kind of strategic partnership can result in many benefits to your travel company and the other business. This is in terms of accessing a broader market and offering more value to your customers.

When two brands collaborate, it's essential that they:

  • Complement each other instead of competing with each other
  • Appeal to the same/similar target audience
  • Enter into mutually-beneficial partnerships

Whatever the goal of the travel brand partnership, the three areas mentioned above need to be met in order for the partnership to be successful. Let’s unpack why this is the case.

Partnering Companies Should Always Complement Each Other

If you want to expand the reach of your travel business, you’ll want to partner with a brand that adds more value to what you currently offer.

You should avoid partnering with an associate travel brand that offers the same kind of services as you. This is because you’ll be competing for the same customers. Instead, choose to partner with a brand that will offer additional value to your customers.

For example, if you offer tours, you should aim to partner with brands like restaurants or unique experience providers. Your clientele will be interested in what you both have to offer, so a strategic alliance will add more value to each business, instead of resulting in competition.

Travel brand partnerships

Both Brands Should Appeal To The Same/Similar Target Audience

In order for business partnerships to be successful, they need to share a common target audience. This is because your partnership needs to add extra value to each brand’s target audience.

If you're using the partnership for marketing and generating more brand awareness, this will only work if the company you're collaborating with has an audience who would be interested in your business.

Mutually-Beneficial Partnerships

Effective travel brand partnerships work both ways. Your travel business should gain extra value and attract more customers through the other business. And vice versa.

If you run some kind of giveaway or co-promoted marketing campaign, it's important to share the results (business leads) equally.

Again, this emphasizes the point of working with a brand that shares the same target audience, and you both need to benefit from attracting the same customers and prospects through the partnership.

Why Travel Brand Partnerships Are Beneficial

Travel brand partnerships are one of the best ways to reach more customers and generate more awareness and excitement around your brand.

If you collaborate with a complementary brand, how it works is, both your tour business and the other company will promote the offer. This means you get to tap into that business’s audience - which can boost your customer acquisition significantly.

The right kind of travel brand partnerships will also help to add a lot more value to your customers by upselling your existing travel experiences.

Instead of just offering the same travel services, you can expand your product offering with deals from your partners. This can help you to generate a lot more sales/revenue.

Travel business partnerships

Travel business partnerships offer a great ROI. This is because you don’t have to invest money directly into the partnership. Instead, with the right partnership agreement, both brands can end up promoting each other for free. This results in generating more brand awareness, without investing financially.

Finally, travel brand partnerships will also help to generate more excitement around your brand. Instead of just offering the same old thing, you could run seasonal partnered promotions , special giveaways, and exclusive offers.

These are all highly effective ways to keep your audience engaged, encourage repeat customers, and increase your travel brand marketing efforts.

Two Types Of Travel Brand Partnerships Explained

When looking for partnerships that will help you as a travel business, you have two options to consider. These include partnerships that:

  • Enhance the traveler experience
  • Expand your business reach

Depending on your business goals, you can choose to focus on one, or both, of these types of partnerships. It's important to understand the differences between them in terms of what kind of brands you can work with and what kind of offers you can create.

Partnerships That Enhance Traveler Experiences

First, travel brands can run strategic partnerships that offer a better experience, or add-ons to their clients. The goal is to collaborate with a company that can make your existing services more valuable, and appealing and entices potential travelers to book a tour.

Some common examples of these types of partnerships include:

  • Partnering with restaurants to offer a different dining experience to your travelers
  • Partnering with local artisans or communities to provide your travelers with a souvenir
  • Partnering with unique experiences, like spa treatments or adventure activities
  • And partnering with any kind of brand that resonates with your travelers

Travel brand partnerships

Think about what businesses, brands, or experiences would add additional value to your current business offering, and reach out to them with a partnership proposal. This is a fantastic way to boost revenue and growth opportunities for both companies.

Travel businesses will often run these kinds of partnerships as special one-time offers, or limited-edition experiences. However, you could forge long-term, ongoing relationships with the right partners.

As long as the partnership benefits both of you, this is an excellent strategy for growing your travel business.

How To Establish These Partnerships

As mentioned, it’s essential to establish travel business partnerships carefully, ensuring that both parties benefit from the agreement. This will make sure that the other business partners are equally invested in the process.

It’s recommended that you ask for different pricing options in a partnership, as this can help make these offers more appealing, as well as more profitable for your brand.

Being able to offer a discounted or a special price will also look more attractive to your customers.

You could also offer the other company exclusive amenities in exchange for becoming the go-to provider. If you offer travel experiences to a certain area and only promote a specific business and experience in that area, this could be a useful way to provide extra value and customers to the partner.

In return, you can provide special offers and experiences to your customers from that partner brand.

Partnerships That Expand Your Reach

The other kind of travel brand partnership refers to when your travel business sets up strategic partnerships to increase your business reach and marketing efforts.

Instead of enhancing your product offering, these types of partnerships are entirely focused on helping you reach and acquire more customers.

Travel business partnerships

Some examples of these types of partnerships include:

  • Partnering with hotels to offer your tour services to guests
  • Partnering with tourism bureaus in your country to increase exposure
  • Working with travel influencers to spread more awareness around your brand
  • Partnering with any other relevant travel brands that could promote your business

As with the other types of travel business partnerships, it's essential that you keep your target audience in mind, and only partner with relevant brands to help you reach this audience. If you get this right, these kinds of partnerships can be a surefire way to grow your business.

One of the main reasons why these partnerships are successful is that people tend to trust recommendations more than brands.

In fact, 84% of customers trust all recommendations they get from other people more than advertisements from companies directly. So, if you can partner with external brands that help promote your business for you, it could be a highly successful way to attract and acquire new customers.

Once you have found relevant brands to partner with, make sure you give them a reason to partner with and promote your travel business.

This could include providing special discounts, or deals, to customers who book through their recommendations. You could also provide your travel services as part of a package that the partner business offers.

If you work with travel influencers, you will likely have to pay the influencer to access their audience.

Whatever the case, it’s vital that the partnership should always be mutually beneficial.

Travel brand partnerships

Using The Right Travel Software For Brand Partnerships

One of the best ways to enhance your travel brand partnerships is to use the right software. This will make it easier to manage the partnership, and it will help you form a better relationship with your newfound partner.

For example, travel businesses using WeTravel’s platform can make use of the supplier transfer feature . This allows you to pay your partners more effectively via WeTravel, which makes it easier to manage your partnership. You’ll also be able to access valuable insights into how the partnership is performing.

Conclusion

Brand partnerships and co-promotions are highly effective in the travel industry. There are loads of brands that could complement your travel services. It all depends on who you're targeting and what area you're operating in.

Whether you want to add more value to customers, or reach new audiences, establishing partnerships is one of the best avenues to take.

Understand how to make these relationships mutually beneficial, and be strategic about how you approach potential collaborations. Get this right, and brand partnerships could boost your travel business's success and revenue stream in a big way.

April Fools' Day pranks: Apps to translate baby stoner sayings, a ghostbuster at Tinder

Every april 1, brands and companies want to get some laughs – and attention – with goofy new 'product' launches. here are some ideas from companies such as sweetgreen, welch's and omaha steaks..

If you don't like Mondays, this one may especially be grating. It's April Fool's Day , when you should trust no one and question everything.

The roots of April Fools' Day may date back before to before the 15th century. But the modern-day April Fools' Day has become a day to prank a friend, family member, co-worker − or your customers.

Even though some companies have had April Fools' pranks backfire , marketers continue to issue spoof products in attempts to get some laughs and attention.

Already ahead of April Fools' Day, 7-Eleven has hinted at a possible prank product: In addition to new Lemon Lime, Green Apple and Sweet Orange flavored 7-Select sparkling waters, out now with partner Miracle Seltzer, there's a fourth flavor coming April 1: Big Bite Hot Dog.

The hot dog-flavored water "combines the mouthwatering experience of 7-Eleven’s iconic Big Bite Hot Dog into one refreshing beverage – ketchup and mustard included," the convenience chain says in a press release . "Say goodbye to the days of alternating bites of a hot dog with sips of a beverage, now those on the go can swap the bun for bubbles."

Krispy Kreme: A special doughnut deal for April Fools' Day

Will Big Bite Hot Dog sparkling water be sold? Its availability will be announced April 1. However, some reporters were sent a can of the drink. USA TODAY can confirm that it definitely smells like hot dog water and has a smoky aftertaste.

If you are interested in trying it, both 7-Eleven and Miracle Seltzer have hinted at having some to give away on their Instagram pages. (If you get a can, share with a friend as it's 16 ounces.)

Here's a roundup of many of the brand-related April Fools’ gag announcements. You've been warned.

Sour cream & onion flavored soda

Despite the proliferation of crazy-flavored products including Peeps-flavored Pepsi , Frank's RedHot sauce-flavored Vlasic pickles and Doritos Nacho Cheese-flavored liquor , healthy soda brand OLIPOP and Pringles are not really teaming up to bring to market a Sour Cream & Onion soda.

The product would have been "a match made in heaven … to bring the delicious, tangy flavor of Pringles’ Sour Cream & Onion flavor to life in liquid form with prebiotic benefits," the companies said.

Stoner lingo translation app

Another dream team prank product: Rosetta Stoned, a mobile app from Rosetta Stone and medical marijuana company Fluent , that "bridges the conversational gap between novice users and seasoned stoners in any social setting."

Da da decoder

Infant equipment site BabyQuip has its own language-bridging lark: the “Baby Translator” app, to decode your baby's secret language.

"Say 'goodbye' to restless nights as you decode your baby's coos and cries instantly, providing you with the understanding you need as a parent, all in one convenient app," it promises.

An AI-powered plush doll

Custom stuffed animal maker Budsies already makes selfie plush dolls with a built-in voice recorder. Its April Fools' spoof: Artificial intelligence-enabled dolls that "come programmed to learn everything about you and to become your new best friend."

A 50-pound Bearabuddy

Sorry to the 3,500 or so who have already signed up to buy Bearaby's Jumbo Benji plush toy, which is four times the size of its regular weighted plush toys and twice as heavy as its heaviest weighted blanket . This isn't actually going to be sold. But it is real and will be making its home in the lobby at The Child Mind Institute in Harlem to welcome children and their families. More weighted plushies are due the day after April Fools' Day, the company says.

A sleeping bag to go bananas over

The Dole Banana Peel Sleeping Bag, conveniently promoted as being available on April Fools' Day only, is made from actual banana fiber and "allows parents to escape into their own cocoon of sensory deprivation."

A full-body cleaning suit

Outrageous clothing company Tipsy Elves has a special product for April Fools' Day: The Mopsie. You don't need paper towels anymore, you can use your body to clean up those messes, with this "innovative, wearable microfiber towel jumpsuit" for "effortlessly soaking up spills and messes with ease." There's also a Baby Mopsie for "hard to reach places."

Korean BBQ deodorant

Kevin's Natural Foods , which has paleo- and keto-certified ready-to-cook and easy-prep entrées, is touting a new line of personal care products inspired by its food dishes including Korean BBQ Deodorant, Cilantro Lime Toothpaste, Lemongrass Basil Shampoo and Tikka Masala Sunscreen.

"These new face, body and hair care essentials will help fans prioritize self-care inside and out," the company says.

Omaha Steaks' meaty sprays

Omaha Steaks has its own personal care prank product: Meaty Spritz sprays with flavors such as Omaha Fog, Hog Haze, and Cock-a-Doodle-Dew.

"The world’s first protein-infused, flavor-packed, portable pump spray … (to) enjoy all the mouthwatering flavors of your Omaha Steaks gourmet favorites no matter how far away from the kitchen you are!" the company says.

Sriracha toothpaste

Asian sauce maker Lee Kum Kee , which makes Sriracha Chili Sauce and Sriracha Mayo Dressing, is introducing – not – its Siracha Mayo Toothpaste. It's "fiery and creamy goodness … is sure to spice up your morning dental routine."

Post-salad dental kit

Need some less powerful toothpaste? Sweetgreen offered these fanciful personal hygiene products as part of its Sweetgreen After Salad Kit, which is "designed with your pearly whites in mind … offering everything you need to freshen up post-meal."

Choose from Miso Ginger Toothpaste, Spicy Cashew Mints, Lime Cilantro Dental Floss, and Sweetgreen Toothbrush and Floss Picks.

Fruit juice lip gloss

More personal care prank products: Welch’s Juicyfuls Juicy Fruit Lip Gloss – now available in five flavors: grape, orange, peach, strawberry and raspberry – made with real juice from Juicefuls fruit snacks so "you get that irresistible sweet flavor you love, all in a lip gloss that's as fun as it is nourishing."

Protein-powered seasonings

Quest Nutrition , maker of protein powder, snacks and other products, has a prank product line of seasonings including All Purpose, Lemon Pepper, and Garlic Herb, each of which deliver "21g of protein, 2g of net carbs and less than 1g of sugar."

If you want to try Quest's real products, you can use code NOJOKE for free shipping on online orders over $49 April 1-3.

Superpowered Superfeet?

These would certainly come in hand on a run, but – sorry – it's a jogging joke. Superfeet SuperBoost Power E-Soles gives you 8 hours of continuous battery-powered boost, for almost Iron Man-like propulsion. "All the comfort and support of Superfeet , now with electrifying performance," the company says in a video about the prank product. "It's like having a powerful electric motor in your shoes."

Scotch tape-branded Scotch?

This shenanigan seems like a blend that could stick: Scotch Whisky by Scotch Brand. The whisky "features a nose of cherry wood and a delightfully smooth finish that hits like a well-wrapped gift."

Who you gonna call when ghosted? This new title at Tinder

Dating app Tinder announced a new April Fools' Day hiring quest for a Vice President of Ghost Hunting to help combat "one of dating culture’s most prevalent vices – ghosting," a practice inflicted on 78% of singles already in 2024 (an untrue fact from Tinder).

Patrón's bringing back a beloved liqueur. No kidding.

Patrón patrons get some good news today. The premium tequila maker chose April Fools' Day to announce the return of its Patrón XO Cafe tequila-based coffee liqueur, which was discontinued in 2021. Since production ceased, devotees took to social media and signed a petition asking parent company Bacardi to bring it back.

Made with Patrón Silver tequila and Arabica bean coffee – the dry liqueur can be sipped straight, in cocktails and as dessert topping – Patrón XO Cafe will begin arriving in stores again later this month.

Say it with dead flowers

Don't forget to put roses on your April Fools' Day list. UrbanStems has this "special" delivery, The Dead Inside Collection, "an assortment of dead flower bouquets, dead plants, half empty vases, and more for the pessimist in your life." But, for real, check UrbanStems' social media accounts including Instagram for how to get 20% off an order of real flowers.

Cheesecake Factory's real deals

The Cheesecake Factory  also has a deal that's no joke: Sign up for the chain's Cheesecake Rewards loyalty program on April 1 to get an Any Slice, Half Price reward, redeemable for 50% off any slice of cheesecake or layer cake, with any food or beverage purchase (no gift cards).

Those who were members before April 1 will find something special in their account on Monday, too: either a free slice of cheesecake each month for a year, a free whole cheesecake, a free slice of cheesecake, $5 off $25 purchases, or $10 off $40 purchases. (All rewards redeemable by April 16; can be redeemed for dine-in, to-go and DoorDash.)

New merch from Dunkin', bonus points in app

Dunkin' announced it is going back to its roots and rebranding to just "Donuts'" on Monday, April 1. To celebrate the rebrand, the company is selling "Donuts'" merch, including sweatshirts that read "DONUTS," on ShopDunkin.com .

Additionally, Dunkin' Rewards members will receive 3x bonus points on any donut order through the mobile app on April 1.

Urban Outfitters launches 'Name Three Shirts' movement

Urban Outfitters said it is launching a global movement to "stand in solidarity against band-tee-shaming" by launching a new collection called "Name Three Shirts."

The t-shirt line "playfully mocks the gatekeeping attitudes of older generations who insist that band-shirt wearers should be required to name songs by those artists," the company said in a news release.

The line, which features revamped logos from bands such as The Grateful Dead, Joy Division and Led Zeppelin, is a "playful jab at the attitudes of older generations, and fights back against the misogynistic undertones of the infamous ‘name three songs’ line of questioning," Urban Outfitters said in the news release.

The collection of shirts is available online and in select Urban Outfitters stores starting April 1. You can shop the collection online here .

Auntie Anne's, Frontier Airlines collaborate on Pretzel Plane

Auntie Anne's pretzels and Frontier Airlines announced they have collaborated on the newest addition to Frontier's fleet: the Pretzel Plane.

According to a news release, the plane includes new in-flight entertainment featuring Auntie Anne's pretzels rolled seat-side, the "luxurious" smell of hot, fresh pretzels throughout the cabin and airplane-shaped pretzels if you're feeling hungry.

Moe's Southwest Grill, Sonic team up to introduce a Queso Slush

Two popular fast food chains announced a collaboration that is sure to be polarizing.

Moe's and Sonic announced a new beverage, the Queso Slush, a queso-flavored slushie. "The frozen goodness of a Sonic Slush meets the delicious flavor of Moe's queso."

Don’t splurge on a suitcase until you’ve read this expert shopping advice.

"Sturdiness is the most important quality for long, international travel because a dense suitcase will ensure that it comes off the scanning belt without major damage," Marchant says. In the unpredictable realm of international travel, a sturdy and resilient suitcase is a traveler’s best friend."

Here, the best pieces of luggage for international travel, straight from the pros.

Paravel Weekender

Paravel Weekender

Paravel is one of Schroeder’s go-to brands for personal luggage due to its quality craftsmanship, stylish aesthetic, and still-attainable price point. Rimowa Original Cabin Carry-on Bag

Rimowa Original Cabin Carry-on Bag

"Large, heavy suitcases are popular because they offer more packing space, but they are cumbersome to bring around the airport and may result in additional fees when checking in," Marchant says. "I recommend travelers prioritize finding a balance between capacity and portability and ensure that their luggage is both functional and practical."

A favorite of Marchant’s (and many seasoned travel pros, for that matter), Rimowa’s aluminum suitcases are all about longevity, while boasting one of the most iconic luggage designs of the modern day. “The best quality luggage is Rimowa, without hesitation, because of its durability, capacity, design, and style,” she says. “The suitcases are an investment, but a guaranteed piece for life,” he says.

If you’re looking for a bag that can go from office to plane to drinks and back again, look no further than Carl Friedrik's weekender bag. This heritage luggage brand focuses on premium materials, thoughtful design to improve functionality and reduce waste, and innovation that will have you hooked for life. The brand is also a go-to destination for travel accessories made from vegetable-tanned vachetta leather that will patina beautifully over the years.

AWAY The Bigger Carry-On

AWAY The Bigger Carry-On

This Instagram-adored brand is also a personal favorite of Schroder’s, as the brand’s Bigger Carry On is her-go to when jet-setting for a variety of trips. This top-rated luggage retailer is beloved for cleverly designed products with unique features such as laundry bags, underside grab handles, lightweight yet durable shells, and array of color options for every type of aesthete.

“In my opinion, the products are well-made and available at a price point that balances both luxury and accessibility,” says Schroeder. “Most of my clients appreciate this, as they are looking for both functionality and a level of style in their luggage.”

Bric's Bellagio Pocket Spinner Trunk

Bric's Bellagio Pocket Spinner Trunk

The celeb-adored Italian luggage brand features a range of leather goods that appeal to a variety of styles, whether you prefer vintage-inspired designs, sleek lines, or punchy colorways. Bric’s is all about showcasing Italian craftsmanship and design innovation, from the Tuscan leather trim on the Firenze bags to the steamer trunk-inspired design of the Bellagio collection and seaside hues of the Positano collection.

Bric’s offers a five-year warranty on all wheeled products and a two-year warranty on other bags and accessories. Warning: You'll be scheming up your next trip to Italy as soon as your purchase arrives.

Hartmann Tweed Legend Medium Journey

Hartmann Tweed Legend Medium Journey

Iconic luggage brand Hartmann first gained notoriety in 1908 with its namesake trunk winning first prize at the California exposition. It’s been serving discerning travelers ever since (think: James Bond in Ian Flemming’s novels, as well as IRL with Halston and Gloria Vanderbilt).

Schroeder is fan of both their carry-on and checked luggage options that feature American-made vegetable-tanned leather, signature tweed, and other high-performance materials to travel as far and wide as you do for decades to come. It’s a top pick for those who love soft luggage without having to sacrifice on durability or style.

Monos Check-In Large

Monos Check-In Large

Monos has quickly become a must-have brand for the jet-set needing Instagram-worthy luggage. But the brand is much more than a pretty face (though we do love the number of colorways offered): Monos luggage has received more than 10,000 five-star reviews and is centered around creating timeless modern heirlooms you'll treasure for years to come.

They back that up with lifetime warranties on all luggage, even if purchased from an authorized third-party retailer, along with two-year warranties for the Metro collection and packing cubes. Plus, adults and kids alike will love the stylish alphabet stickers for personalizing suitcases and more.

TUMI Extended Trip Expandable 4-Wheeled Packing Case

TUMI Extended Trip Expandable 4-Wheeled Packing Case

“My husband has all things TUMI, which is a brand we often recommend to our clients,” Schroder says.

The comprehensive travel brand is a great pick for enthusiasts of all kinds, as the brand’s portfolio ranges from suitcases in six different sizes, active backpacks, and even a host of golf accessories (the brand just became the official luggage of the PGA Tour and LPGA). This also makes TUMI an excellent option for those who are seeking a full matching set of travel goodies, as Marchant says he swears by matching family sets of luggage to help keep track of everyone’s belongings as best as possible.

The brand features a slew of valuable amenities, from the TUMI Tracer product recovery program to repair and personalization services, as well a five-year-luggage warranty (two for wallets and accessories). Plus, there are more than 300 TUMI stores around the world to test out their suite of products in person with ease.

Royce & Rocket

Royce & Rocket

The youngest brand on our list, Royce & Rocket was created by two well-traveled friends in 2022 who were looking to make packing (and unpacking upon arrival) as smooth as possible, allowing people to make the most of their vacations. Their suitcases, offered in three sizes feature built-in shelving systems (in chic colors, might we add) to help you stay organized with ease, no matter how much city-hopping is on your itinerary. Don’t miss out on the brand’s catchall travel pouches for keeping your suitcase mess-free and your beauty routine a breeze while abroad.

Delsey TURENNE Medium Trunk Spinner

Delsey TURENNE Medium Trunk Spinner

Since 1946, Delsey has been bridging the gap between luxury and accessibility in the luggage market. No matter what kind of traveler you are or style of luggage you prefer, the brand has something well-designed, eco-friendly, and innovative to offer. The brand created the first luggage on wheels, after all! Delsey features an authorized repair center to ensure proper upkeep for those who travel hard. The brand is available for purchase through many major retailers around the world, so it’s a great pick if you prefer to shop IRL.

BÉIS The Convertible Mini Weekender

BÉIS The Convertible Mini Weekender

Schroder loves BÉIS for its lightweight carryon options that can keep you organized, no matter the itinerary. This is a great brand to know for families looking for chic, kid-friendly travel gear, hard-working totes, and clever carry ons in a slew of appealing colors.

“I own the Weekender and the Backpack, and I use both on different trips, depending on the type,” she says. “For example, when traveling to Africa, the Backpack helps to keep me most organized. When traveling to Europe and I need something to hold what doesn’t fit in my carry on, the Weekender is my go-to!"
