I got a call today from a company calling themselves Advanced Travel Network. Felt like a scam. They said they wanted to rent out my RCI extra vacations and they'd pay me $1800.00 a week with a guarantee of $7200 a year. Of course, they wanted $1900 up front and I said heck no. Just wondering if this is an outright scam, or if there is anything to it?

They tell you that you will get full refund if the timeshare doesn't sell (which they don't). There is NO availability for the weeks being requested, which are fake requests. After requesting a refund (within the 60 days), they tell you that you only get a partial refund $454 out of the $1999 paid. Now I have to file for a refund with my credit card, file a complaint with BBB, file a complaint with Florida Attorney General, etc. etc, etc. And I've only lost money due to paying interest on my credit card which I'll never get back. Darnit, my husband was right, I should have known better.

Deceptive & predatory business practices

We were contacted by a representative named Jim from ATN related to renting out the free additional weeks we receive through Interval International as part of our Marriott Vacation Club ownership. We were advised that the weeks would be marketed & if were not rented out within 180 days, we could request a refund of the $1996 we paid. We signed the one-page contract while on the phone with the representative after a length question/answer session. We were not given the opportunity to fully review the contract as it had to be done while he was on the phone "as a witness"; which we acknowledge was our mistake. We received one offer but given the dates they requested were not available through Interval, the units could not be rented. At the 6 month mark, we requested a refund at which time we were told that per the contract, they would not issue a refund but had the right to market for another 180 days. At the end of those 180 days we could request a refund if the weeks had not been rented. When the 2nd 180 days was up, I requested a refund. At that time, we were told by a representative that NO refund would be issued per the contract outside of 10 days post signing. After much back & forth, I ended up filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well as the Division of Consumer Services. A short time later, I received a call from a representative named Alex who offered us a $984 in return for signing a contract while on the phone with her. Having learned our lesson, I advised her that I was not going to sign anything without having an opportunity to review it and that my husband & I needed to discuss it. She continued to push it & I reminded her that legally, she could not force me to sign a contract without giving me an opportunity to review it, as it would be considered signing under duress. At that point she did email the cancellation agreement that contained verbiage that I would not write any disparaging reviews or file any complaints against ATN. I knew at that point, I was not satisfied with this. I received several phone calls from Alex at ATN in the following days, but we were traveling & I was nursing an injury I sustained while traveling, so did not respond to her as this was not an urgent issue and we were still considering our options. I then received a voicemail stating a check had been refunded to me, which I received today. I contacted them today to advise them I wanted the full amount or I would be filing a complaint with the FL Attorney General's office, only to be told my account had been closed because "you agreed to accept payment" so no further negotiation would occur. I vehemently deny ever agreed or even implied that I would accept the cancellation amount or terms. I advised them I would be contacting the AG's office since they refused to speak further with me and that the representative blatantly lied about my alleged acceptance of the refund. I requested someone from their leadership team contact me, which the representative said she was forward on the request...so we'll see.

Watch out from this scammer of a company

This company promotes that they can sell your unused time from your timeshare, that they will send you offers etc etc etc. This company has held my money hostage for over a year and half with these empty promises that they will get you sellers to refund your money. Watch out this is a scam you will lose your money $1965 or more. Run stay away. Do not believe them.

They are scamming people they made and offer where I would get $1800 for rentals from my interval International account. They don't tell you the full procedure for getting these offers. Plus Interval International verified they do not work with this company. They told me 30-90- days then it turned into 6 months. I refused to renew the offer they are refusing to refund my money back. They sent bogus offers with wrong dates and will not provide information who the owner is.

They have an offer where I pay $1600 upfront and then they rent out my GetAway weeks from Interval. Interval says NO WAY! I can book my friends or use myself but if I rent which is against the rules, I would be responsible for all damage, fees, etc. Don't get caught in this
