I give three stars, because that is exactly what it is - a middle of the road experience. Neither horrible nor wonderful. There were tons of FUN and really cool aspects and just as many aspects that disappointed and were lacking. The way to enjoy the Tillicum Village, however, is to do exactly what we did. Go in with very little expectations. Go in and know that "it is what it is". No more, no less. It is enjoyable. It is entertaining. But could it be so much more? Yes! The cruise over and back from Seattle is awesome! Definitely one of the perks! The food, although sparse and served in buffett style, was delicious. In fact, some of the best salmon I've ever had. The servers could definitely be taught some more customer service. And the show is the biggest disappointment. Is it touristy? Yes. Is it really respectful of the Native American tribes that is states it represents? Probably not. There were only three dancers - and 90% of the show is a mere video on a screen. Cool and 3D, yes. But a video nonetheless. Again, I think everyone should do it once! We live in Seattle and take our guests when they come in from out of town. Again, its a touristy thing to do - why not? But sadly, yes, they could make it be SO MUCH BETTER! Go with the "it is what it is" attitude and you'll enjoy yourself and not be angry or disappointed! :)

The ride out was great and our guide was extremely informative. Luckily, I was there for the weekend of sunshine! SUNSHINE IN SEATTLE? WHAT? But yes, I got to see the beautiful Mt. Rainier on the way there. I've always been fascinated with Native American history so I was really excited with the performance. It was kind of a let down because most of it was digital and the dances were boring. The costumes I thought were pretty authentic. The food was mediocre. The salmon was cooked to perfection and the rice was also yummy. The fruit was fruit what else can I say. I went back for the bread and butter though, SO good. Upon arriving, you receive a cup of clams in some sort of broth? You can have more if you like and the idea is to throw the shells on the floor and crush them, hence the clam-shell trail. I'm not a fan of clams, but they were decent, not the best. The idea was cool. The ride back was chilly. We sat on the deck but ended up going inside because it got really windy. Overall, i'd recommend this for tourists like myself. A lot of people say "older" people would enjoy it more, but I'm 17 and I had fun. It'd also be a nice date idea. If I go back, I would definitely camp there. It's so peaceful and the water/beach is right there.

We took a chance on a tourist attraction and I'm glad I gave it a try but I don't think I would do it again. The boat ride itself wasn't fantastic since the commentator drawled on and on about irrelevant topics. It was about a 30 minute ride from what I recall, possibly longer. The village itself was entrancing but there was not enough time to actually explore it. Rather, they used up most of the time on the itinerary for this odd show that I simply could not understand. I wish more time was allotted for the scenic hikes and beachside strolls. The seating was fine within the venue and I believe any seat would have sufficed. Shout out to all the new friends we made sharing wine with us! Food was absolutely delicious with perfectly cooked salmon and fresh sides. Perfection in that area!

Really Argosy? I went to Tillicum to watch a *live* show, not some video of a man telling a story. This show used to be hot. There were multiple live performances and now most of that seems to be gone. They have cut down on their staff a lot but I see no reduction in prices. This tour has a lot of potential to be a truly awesome experiece. Tourists and locals deserve it. Don't let us down Argosy!

I loved the whole experience of going to Tillicum Village. The boat ride from downtown Seattle was 45 minutes long and during this time, we all were treated to excellent Native American stories by the wonderful captain Haida. What a great storyteller! Amazing talent! Then upon disembarking, we were greeted by dancers from the show and given an appetizer of clams cooked in a tasty broth. Scrumptious! The food was all very tasty and the show was very well done, non- Hollywood, authentic and interesting. It depicted Native American myths in an understandable and creative way with film and live dancers. The gift shop had some beautiful keepsakes, not very expensive but moderately priced, and everyone was super nice and approachable. The return trip was just as fun as Haida again treated us to a story. All in all, I had a great time and plan on returning next season.

I went to on the Tillicum Village tour with a large group yesterday. We were very lucky because the sun was out and the breeze felt really nice. Anyway, the actual boat ride itself was awesome. They have two bars and also a concession stand that has non-alcoholic drinks and snacks like popcorn or ice cream. The tour guide was pretty informative and there were lots of things to see outside, so the ride there was done in no time. When we got off the boat we were able to see how they cook the salmon, which was really really cool! Dinner was not that great, with the exception of the salmon--which was delicious! I brought my 8 year old with me, and he would only eat fruit and salmon. He wouldn't even touch dessert, which is saying something for an 8 year old boy. The show was just okay. Most of it was on a screen. There were three dancers that did a good job, and their costumes were cool. After the show a couple of them go into the lobby to take pictures. Touring the island was very interesting, and I really wish we had longer to do it! There are beautiful trails and wildlife walking around everywhere. We were able to get through about half of the island before it was time to go. All in all, I gave it three stars because it was a pretty good experience, but they should work on the food and give a little more time to hang out and explore... Not sure if it's worth the money.

Great staff. India is awesome, and the two guys (Jay and bradley? sorry I forgot) are also wonderful. Our team had such a blast, and the food was fantastic. Really felt like we were visiting friends. Thank you all!

Thank you for the review, and for the kind words about our staff! And your comment about visiting friends is very kind, and very meaningful to us.

I would give this excursion a 3/10 at best. The food was typical plain buffet food...the show was totally cheesy and low budget. This whole thing needs to be overhauled. It could be so much better. Wouldn't take out of town guests, certainly not worth the price.

When I read the reviews after buying my tickets, I felt so disappointed. I told my husband, "The performance is all done on a projector, the food isn't the best, they rush you through spending time on the island, as well as rushing you through eating, and the entire experience is going to be so overrated." I even wrote Argosy to tell them how misled I felt, all because of some of these reviews. Boy do I feel awful doing that... After our cruise yesterday, I am more disappointed in the reviewers. There really, truly are a lot of snobs out there, more than I ever realized. I can almost picture some of them sitting at the table with their third or fourth plate of food from the buffet, nit-picking with their forks and bitching, "This salmon is dry, this bison isn't the best, this is a one-star meal, but let me go for fifths." But let me tell you how it REALLY was for us. And after reading my review, you can decide for yourself if it's an experience you would like to try: 1) The 45-minute cruise ride over was very relaxing, and absolutely beautiful (yes, bathrooms and concessions are on the boat). If you go on a sunny and cloudless day, Mt. Rainier is breathtaking. 2) The moment you step off the boat, you are given a mug of hot clam soup. The clams are delicious and the broth is equally so. When you are finished, dump the shells onto the walking path and stomp on them. I loved this. And I loved the crunchy shell path created because of this. But if you think this is awful, then stay at home in your bedroom with the blinds closed to the world and browse Facebook and bitch on your profile about how awful stepping outside your comfort zone is. 3) As soon as you enter the lodge, you are greeted by a delicious, smoky aroma of salmon cooking over a fire. Within five minutes of entering, you are called into a lovely, log-style eating area to enjoy the buffet. 4) There is plenty of food at the buffet, and we went up for seconds or thirds. And no, the salmon was not dry. It was succulent and delicious, as was all the food. My husband, who HATES salmon, ate tons of it. After eating a while, someone will come around and bring you a blackberry cobbler for dessert. And they whipped the cream themselves, I could tell. Amazing. 5) After eating, and in no way are you rushed, they start the performance. To be honest, I would give the performance four stars, but it was still nice. This isn't a luau, people. There is NO projector performance; however, there is a big digital screen in the background, and the narrator was digitized, and there were some digitized effects, but the three dancers were not. So yes, there were actual human performers on stage. 6) After the performance, we had 45 minutes--you heard me, 45 minutes--to roam around the area. Hubby and I sat by the Sound, saw a small heard of beautiful deer, and listened to the waves lap the shore. 7) The cruise back to Seattle was just as pleasant, with an amazing view of the sunset, Olympic Mountains, and Rainier. So, does this sound like something for you? Would *I* do it again? Would *I* take my family here? Yes, I would. For God's sakes, get off your damn phone and enjoy the experience for what it is. Don't let a bunch of snobs on Yelp ruin it for you.
