Itinerary in detail.

On arrival in Bangkok, the charming capital city of Thailand, your private guide and driver will greet you at the airport and drive you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to spend as you please.

Your day will commence with a visit to the magnificent Wat Pho, which houses the sacred Reclining Buddha. A holy ceremony is held there every day and locals visit to offer worship. As the morning light shines on the orange robes of Buddhist monks, they solemnly begin their daily chanting in the hall.

Hop on a tuk-tuk (three-wheeled passenger vehicle) and head to the imposing Grand Palace . After your visit to the magnificent royal palace, take a longtail boat ride across the Chao Phraya River to the iconic Wat Arun , one of the oldest temples in Bangkok.

Conclude your day with a visit to the bustling Chinatown area.

Established in 1962 as Thailand's first national park, Khao Yai is an ecological wonderland with plenty of wildlife and lovely trails through jungles and mountains. It is about a 2 hours' drive from Bangkok.

Upon your arrival in Khao Yai, your tour guide will show you the way to the viewpoint from where you can spot gibbons, pig-tailed macaques, and hornbills. Next, head to the Khao Yai National Park Museum .

Trek along the Gibbon Route to reach Haew Narok Waterfall . If you are lucky, you may see wild elephants wandering around.

Your day ends with a night safari tour. Transfer to a four-wheel-drive vehicle with a spotlight to see civets, deer, barking deer, porcupine, wild dogs, and elephants. Transfer to your hotel after the tour.

After breakfast, your private guide and driver will pick you up from the hotel and transfer you to Khao Yai.

You will trek along another trail, Haew Suwat Waterfall , which is a scenic route with two spectacular waterfalls on the way, and the ideal place to spot crocodiles, monitor lizards, and Chinese water dragons. Appreciate the natural beauty of the forest on the way. After all that physical effort, you will be rewarded with stunning views of Haew Suwat Waterfall at the end of the trail. The waterfall scene where Leonardo DiCaprio jumps from a high cliff in the Hollywood movie 'The Beach' was shot there.

After the sightseeing, return to Bangkok and transfer to your hotel.

Get a glimpse into the lives of the locals as you explore the Maeklong Railway Market . See how the stall owners conduct their business along the train track. It's hard to believe that trains pass through this busy market until you witness the sellers pulling away and then putting back their stalls upon a train's arrival and departure.

Visit the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market , where the exciting sight of numerous boats laden with various goods, such as fruit, snacks, and other specialties, is sure to grab your attention. It is the most popular floating market in Thailand and is great for photo opportunities, food sampling, and gaining an insight into the local way of life in Thailand.

You will fly to the lovely northern city of Chiang Mai following breakfast. Private transfers with guide facilities are included in this tour.

Spend some leisure time at a vibrant food and flower market , and learn how the locals pick fresh fruits and beautiful flowers.

Continue Doi Suthep , a natural wonder in Chiang Mai. The views from the mountain and the beauty of the surrounding area make the trip to the summit worthwhile. Stop at Wat Phra That , one of Northern Thailand's most sacred temples. You will be able to catch panoramic views of Chiang Mai city and the surrounding areas from the temple.

Return to Chiang Mai and take a rickshaw ride through its busy streets and quiet alleys. Sample various delicacies, including Northern Thai-style noodle soup, stir-fries, pad Thai (stir-fried Thai noodles), khao man gai (chicken rice), khao soi (a Burmese-influenced noodle dish), fresh fruits, and a variety of Thai desserts.

Learn about Chiang Mai's local street food by touring food stalls and shophouses, especially around the Three Kings Monument area.

Situated in a pristine and picturesque valley in Chiang Mai, about 1 hour outside the city, Elephant Rescue Park is a paradise for rescued elephants. It provides a safe, loving, and secure environment for all the elephants that live there.

Spend half a day caring for the elephants. You are allowed to interact with the elephants, feed them, hug them, and even bathe them.

On Day 9, you will travel down to southern Thailand to see one of the best tourist destinations on the Thai west coast, Krabi. Your tour includes private transfers and private guide services. Spend the rest of the day wandering around your hotel by Ao Nang Beach.

You will have two free days to experience the natural charm of Krabi and entertain yourself by trying out various activities.

The untouched tropical beaches of Krabi are the perfect destination for laid-back couples and families . Ao Nang Center Point is famous for its high-octane nightlife, the Tiger Cave Temple offers visitors the chance to pay their respects to the Buddha, and the beautiful mangrove forest is the perfect place to spend some leisure time.

Krabi's seascape is famous for its steep limestone cliffs. In the ancient past, lava soared up from the sea, forming small isles of varied shapes. If you enjoy rock climbing, then you will love Krabi - it is one of the best spots for rock climbing in the world.

Snorkeling and scuba diving enthusiasts will be pleasantly surprised by the spectacular coral reefs and colorful array of fishes in Krabi's waters.

Your guide and driver will transfer you to Krabi airport to take a flight to Bangkok and onward to your international flight.

(Very Important!) … More BKK airport was well organised and with our PCR tests completed enroute to the hotel we were good to go. Our road captain this trip was Noah with Yai following in our support vehicle ensuring the bikes were checked daily and our luggage was available normally minutes after we arrive at each stop. The benefits of travelling to this biking heaven are too many to mention as the roads have everything you could ask for from fast sweeping bends to technical curves on the mountain passes. With the guidance of Noah everyone riding finds their own pace in the warm dry weather. Stopping to take in the best views along with sites of interest like the Tham Luang Cave where the Wild Boar football team were rescued it’s a very informative trip. Not only is it biking heaven but with BBT looking after your meals every plate that arrived made it feel like a food tour. We ate along with the locals as well as carefully selected restaurants. Khao Soi being my favourite dish of Northern Thailand. The hotels on this trip were immaculate with the staff being attentive, each rider in their own room and a cold beer waiting on you. Travel may have changed with Covid but BBT are still leading by example and giving exactly what they say they will. “ A BIKE TOUR THAT MADE ME THINK ABOUT NOTHING EXCEPT THE NEXT CORNER ! “ I will definitely be back. Microsoft Corp will invest in artificial intelligence infrastructure and set up its first Azure data centre in Thailand, part of a push to expand its footprint in fast-growing South-East Asia.

The OpenAI backer sees AI adding as much as US$1 trillion (RM4.76 trillion) in value to the region, chief executive officer Satya Nadella said during a company event in Bangkok Wednesday. “Even in Thailand, double-digit growth of over US$100bil (RM476.75bil) plus can be driven, because of the productivity curve that can be bent by AI,” he said.

The software maker the previous day unveiled a US$1.7bil (RM8.10bil) outlay in Indonesia, to be made over four years.

Nadella’s tour of South-East Asia, which includes a meeting with Thai Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin, follows high-profile visits by Nvidia Corp’s Jensen Huang and Apple Inc’s Tim Cook to the region, where Chinese and US tech titans as well as local startups are locked in a fierce battle in pursuit of growth. Thailand’s economy has fallen behind, however, attracting less foreign direct investment than its peers as it grapples with soaring public and household debt and an ageing population.

Microsoft has been expanding its cloud and artificial intelligence offerings, capitalising on technology from OpenAI. That helped lift sales and profit above expectations in the March quarter, with Nadella last week telling analysts that Azure took market share from rivals. – Bloomberg

ZEROBASEONE announce 2024 ‘The First Tour’ tour

South Korean boyband ZEROBASEONE have announced the dates for their upcoming 2024 ‘The First Tour’ tour, featuring concerts in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and more.

Today (April 29), ZEROBASEONE revealed the dates for their forthcoming 2024 ‘The First Tour’ tour, which will feature 14 concerts in seven different countries from September to December this year.

The K-pop boyband will kick off their tour with a three-date show at the KSPO Dome in Seoul, South Korea from September 20 to 22. In the same month, the group will also hold a concert at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

In the following month, ZEROBASEONE will bring their 2024 ‘The First Tour’ tour to other cities and countries across Southeast Asia. They include one-night-only shows in Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia.

Thereafter, the K-pop act will head to the Galaxy Arena in Macau, China for a two-date concert. ZEROBASEONE will also hold five shows in Japan from late-November to early-December, featuring three and two concerts in the cities of Aichi and Kanagawa, respectively.

The ticketing details for the newly announced dates on ZEROBASEONE’s 2024 ‘The First Tour’ tour have yet to be revealed. Keep tabs on this page for the latest updates.

About the role

This important role within the Indian Subcontinent team at Asian Trails Thailand takes care of the complete reservation process, including receiving requests from travel agents abroad, preparing offers and quotations and timely follow-up and booking for all services with our branch offices, hotels and suppliers in Thailand. The candidate will be responsible for issuing vouchers to hotels and other suppliers as well as the invoicing and payment collection process.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with the overseas travel agencies and tour operators;
• Prepare itineraries and quotations;
• Send reservation requests to hotels and land service providers in Thailand;
• Follow up on programmes that have been sent;
• Ensure all relevant data is uploaded to Asian Trails’ administration system;
• Promote the use of Asian Trails’ B2B system;
• Coordinate with the operations department within our offices for booking land services;
• Follow up on payments with customers;
• General administration tasks;
• Work closely with colleagues from other departments and offices within the Asian Trails Group;
• Be responsible for reservations and contracting activities with suppliers and hoteliers;
• Attend out of office meetings with customers to handle events, special requests and other tasks as outlined by the Business Development Manager Indian Subcontinent (when required).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in hospitality;
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a travel & tourism company;
• Good command of English (both verbal and written) is essential; ability to speak and understand Hindi language is definitely seen as an advantage;
• Experience with FIT and GIT/series bookings is a prerequisite;
• Experience with Destination Management software is an advantage;
• Excellent command of Microsoft Office (World, Excel, Outlook) applications and computing skills;
• Able to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work flexible hours during peak season;
• A “Can Do” attitude, positive thinking and creative thinking is an asset;
• This position is open for Thai nationals only.

GOOD TO KNOW

• This tour is operated on full private basis with English-speaking guide. Other languages are on request / subject to availability and supplementary charges may apply.
• Transfers are only operated within the downtown Chiang Mai areas and restricted to main hotels only.
• Regions outside the central business district such as Mae Rim, Hang Dong, Doi Saket, Mae Taeng and Chiang Mai International Airport are excluded and supplementary charges apply.
• We regret that are unable to provide pick-up and drop-off transfer services from and to apartment complexes, local guest houses or private apartments. We advise you kindly to head on your own arrangement to the nearest hotel inside the downtown Chiang Mai area.
• We will do all possible to comply with any dietary requirements during this excursion; it may not always be possible to confirm your wishes in advance based on the choice of local restaurant.
• Due to the nature of this tour, we regret to inform you that this excursion is not suitable for wheelchair users.
• Guests are advised that some walking is required during this excursion; we always ensure that we take the most comfortable ways from the entrance of the sight to the sight itself.
• The road up and down Doi Angkhang is not suitable for large coaches; for group travel, note that the group needs to be split up into mini-vans. We always will make efforts to confirm the exact pick-up time upon reservation.
• For any operational issues in which are not able to confirm the exact pick-up time in advance, we reserve the right to inform you the day before the departure of the tour.
• Due to the absence of ATM machines and credit cards payment portals, we highly recommend to bring sufficient cash with you. Please ensure that you bring sunglasses, a hat /cap and sunblock with a high SPF factor when traveling with us on this tour – even when it is cloudy, the sunrays still have an immense power.
• We reserve the right to make necessary changes to the excursion in case of unfavourable weather conditions or situations where we are forced to make alterations to guarantee the safety of our guests.
• It is recommendable to bring a jacket / sweater with you as temperatures on Doi Angkhang are often much cooler than around Chiang Mai.
• It is the responsibility of the customer to provide us with the correct hotel information, should pick-up and drop-off services be included in the package.
• Any changes in accommodation outside 48 hours will be handled accordingly: changes within 48 hours may be on request.
