Frequently Asked Questions
Q: what is the best time to book a stockholm hop-on hop-off tour.
Summer is arguably the best time to plan a visit to Stockholm and explore the city on a comfortable open-top bus aboard a hop-on hop-off bus. The weather is warm and comfortable with temperatures soaring in mid-July. The days are long and the balmy climate is best for sightseeing around the city. However, if you want to score good deals, you may avoid the peak tourist season in summer months.
Q: How does it work?
Stockholm bus tour offers you the convenience and flexibility to get off at the nearest designated stop. No tour guide, you set your own itinerary. You’ll find all the stops are located strategically at all the major attractions, making your touring as hassle-free as possible. And then, when you’re ready to continue, return to a designated bus stop, show your pass, and hop back on the bus and onwards towards your next attraction. So, go ahead and make a whole loop of the route once you have your tour ticket, get familiar with the city and pick out your favorite places to visit and then return to them during your stay.
Q: What is the validity of the ticket?
There are several ticket options available to you, depending on your length of stay. Each bus tour will have validity from 24, 36, 48 to 72 hours. And the great thing is you can plan ahead as the vouchers are valid anywhere between 6 months to 1 year and can be used at any point during that period. Check the product page or bus tour operator for complete details.
Q: Where can I find a list of all the stops and a map of the various Stockholm hop-on hop-off tour routes?
You can visit the relevant product page and check the Useful Downloads section to find the latest information as routes, stops, and timings change frequently.

Fun bus tours in Stockholm
Whether you’re in a rush and want to see all the top sights in as short a time as possible, or fancy digging deep into Sweden’s history, Stockholm has a bus tour for you.
There are plenty of action-packed options too. When you jump off the bus, you can go ice-skating on a frozen lake, visit ancient Viking burial grounds, or eat dinner round a campfire on a wildlife safari.
Whatever your interests are, there are some great fun-packed bus tours in Stockholm.
Quick take: our 3 favourite bus tours
There are plenty of bus tours that you can take from Stockholm, but here are our three favourite trips.
Our top choice is this Viking tour , that takes in ancient Viking sites and villages, including 1000-year-old rune stones and burial sites. It’s amazing how much Viking history there is within a short distance from Stockholm.
We also love this wildlife safari , where an expert guide will help you look out for native animals, including moose, deer, badgers and hares.
And if it’s winter, we really recommend this fun ice-skating trip , where you’ll be kitted out with skates, shown how to skate and can whizz around on one of Sweden’s frozen lakes.
Amphibious bus tour
Can’t decide between a bus tour or a boat trip? Do both, with this amphibious bus tour . The tour starts by exploring Stockholm’s historic centre by bus, then comes the fun bit!
The bus drives into the water and turns in to boat mode to cruise round the city’s islands including Djurgården, with its great museums and the trendy district of Södermalm.
The Oceanbus runs from April though to October.

Wildlife safari (by minibus from Stockholm)
You don’t have to go far from the city centre to see wildlife in Sweden. OK, so it’s not the big five, but this wildlife safari takes you out into the woods to search for native animals such as moose, deer, wild boars, badgers and hares.
After cooking a simple dinner over a campfire, the guide takes you out on a dusk hike through the woods and shows you how to spot signs of the native animals that live here.
