Only 30 miles west of Denver adventure awaits

Our ATVs/UTVs are all open, four wheelers so you can feel present in nature. They are all equipped with a rear seat, making them capable of being ridden by just one person, or as a double with a passenger behind. All drivers must be at least 16, and passengers must meet the minimum height requirement of 56 inches.

Our tour will ascend a historic mining road making a steep climb out of the canyon, offering an exhilarating off-road experience and views only reached by few.

Find the Best Off-Road Trails to Ride On

Respect off-road rules.

When it comes to using vehicles off-road in Clear Creek, there are some specific rules you must follow:

• All vehicles must be registered — all off road vehicles must have a valid Colorado State Parks OHV registration or a license plate. 
• It is illegal and dangerous to travel truly off-road, so Stay the Trail and travel only on designated roads — all off-road vehicles must travel on hardened roads.
• Private property is scattered throughout Clear Creek — it is illegal to trespass on private property without permission.
• It is against the rules to drive around a closed gate  — you will be ticketed by the Forest Service for doing so.
• Please respect the rights of others and road closures  — allow for the enjoyment of other recreational activities and protect our natural resources. 
• Please do your part to clean up — leave trails better than how you found them.

Alpine Loop SxS Tour (Silverton CO)

Rocky Mountain Loop – Ghost Towns – Mining History

The Alpine Loop is one of the 10 best ATV trails in Colorado . Honestly, it’s probably the best.

The US is a beautiful country with a lot of diverse amazing beauty, but it’s hard to beat this high elevation ride through the Colorado Rockies. That’s why this 63 mile loop is one of the most popular Colorado ATV tours.

This full day tour takes you on a high tundra loop that passes through Lake City, one of the most remote towns in the lower 48.

Ride over Engineer Pass and Cinnamon Pass and enjoy sweeping views in all directions. Surrounded by mountains with peaks over 14,000” high, every turn features new stunning vistas.

The Alpine Loop passes several Colorado ghost towns including Animas Forks, Mineral Point, Carson and Capitol City. Animas Forks, once a bustling mining town with 450 residents, is now a ghost town with a few old surviving buildings.

This region is also littered with the remains of long abandoned mines, a rich part of Colorado’s history.

Switzerland of America – Wild Flower Wonderland

Ouray bills itself as the Switzerland of America.

Surrounded by jagged mountain peaks, the Ouray / Silverton area is renowned for having some of the best ATV trails in the US. This includes the world famous Alpine Loop as well as the popular Yankee Boy Basin.

Yankee Boy Basin is a dirt road that runs 18.6 miles through a high walled canyon in the San Juan Mountains surrounded by the jagged peaks of Potosi Peak, Teakettle Mountain, Cirque Mountain, Stony Mountain, Gilpin Mountain and Mount Sneffels  which is over 14,000”.

This tour takes you through a lush green alpine basin that is full of wildflowers from mid July through early August. 

Rugged peaks, waterfalls streams, meadows and wildflowers – this ATV tour is Colorado at it’s best.

The last mile or so is very steep and rough with drop offs as it gains elevation. This is the scariest, but also the most stunning part of the drive.

Don’t bite off more than you can chew! The trail end with a small loop at Wright’s Lake.

With Ride-N Adventures based in Ouray, Yankee Boy Basin is just one of several off roading routes available. They’ll deliver your ATV for free right to the Yankee Boy Basin trailhead. Super easy! You have the option of riding on your own or booking a guide.

St. Elmo RZR Tour (Buena Vista CO)

Ghost Town – Ride The Continental Divide

Most Colorado ATV tours are family friendly and geared towards beginners, but this tour is for advanced riders only.

This ATV tour starts in St. Elmo, a ghost town and former mining settlement. With over 43 preserved buildings, St. Elmo is one of the best preserved ghost towns in the West.

Although it’s on a dirt road, it’s easily accessible by car, but it’s most popular as an off roading destination.

This ride is part of the Miners Loop, an exciting back country ride that takes you over three mountain passes over 12,000” high: Hancock, Cumberland and Tincup.

Ride through forests, alpine tundra and high mountain peaks that take you over the Continental Divide. The views on this trail are unsurpassed.

Full and half day guided tours are available from RMAR (Rocky Mountain Adventure Rental. They provide transportation from their office to the starting point in St. Elmo. They also offer vehicle rentals.

Continental Divide SxS Tour (Winter Park)

Historic Railroad Route – Wagon Toll Road

Winter park is an underated ski town. A bit off the beaten path, most people pass it by on their way to the more popular resorts of Keystone, Breckenridge or Vail. But, this ski town has a casual friendly vibe offers year round fun.

Summer and fall are the perfect time to visit Winter Park for hiking, biking and off roading.

Plus Winter Park is on the way to Grand Lake, a gateway town to Rocky Mountain National Park. Lakes, mountains and a nearby national park make this region definitely worth a visit.

The Continental Divide Tour starts in Winter Park and takes you 15 miles up to Corona Pass at an elevation of 11,660”.

Ride through the Arapahoe National Forest on your way to the top where you’ll be rewarded with impressive views of the Rocky Mountains and Fraser Valley.

This guided tour takes you past an historic railroad train trestle that was part of a 23 mile long railroad rout over Rollins Pass.

Now abandoned, this early railroad route is considered a significant engineering feat of the early 20 th  century and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Prior to the railroad, Rollins Pass, was a toll road. It’s hard to imagine, but this was an important wagon road for navigating the region. In 1866, John Rollins got approval from the Colorado Council and House of Representatives to officially operated his tour road.

Camp Hale/Vail ATV Tour (Leadville CO)

Fighting Nazis – History With A View

Camp Hale is a popular ATV destination . Located at 9,200 feet, the camp is a large wide open valley surrounded by mountains. It’s located in the White River National Forest with miles of trails that take you into the mountains.

You can reach 12,000’ peaks while riding through forests, mountains and beautiful alpine meadows.

Camp Hale is a real slice of history. Established during WWII in 1942, this army base at one time housed 15,000 soldiers. Camp Hale trained the 10 th  Mountain Division, a branch of the US army trained specifically for mountaineous and arctic conditions.

Soldiers were trained in mountain climbing, cold weather survival, weapons and explosives. The soldiers were part of a national effort to create an elite ski corps with advanced Alpine and Nordic skiing skills.

At one point it also held 400 Nazi prisoners of war from the German Afrika Corps. In a bit of a scandal, two German Sergeants escaped with the help of a US Private. Thankfully they were caught in Mexico and turned over to the US.

Although this base only existed from 1942 to 1945, it was a big part of the war time effort.

Most of the building and remains of the camp have long been removed, but there are some foundations and other remnants of it’s past.

John and the rest of staff were awesome! Beautiful and fun for the whole family! Highly recommend! We took our 18, 10 and 4-year old for my husband’s 34th birthday! We were greeted by a friendly man who helped all of us get ready safely and was very knowledgeable about the area! Then John gave us an awesome tour. We can’t wait to go back!

Talk about a blast! We had so much fun!! Not only did we get to see some amazing scenery we also got to see a Mama black bear and her two cubs. Our guide was the best, he stopped and pointed out historical land marks and points of interest. He made it fun and interesting. Once he felt comfortable with our ability he let us let lose a bit at the end of the tour. Can't wait to take my Son and his girlfriend back to take one of their longer tours!!!

We did the Romance Package. We had a privately guided tour by Sam. He was great and showed us some great views. The staff was friendly on a busy day and at the end of the day. We had an absolute blast and I would do it again! I highly recommend Play Dirty!

I and my husband were visiting the area for our 25th Wedding Anniversary last week. We saw the Play Dirty ATV sign at the turnoff next to the Royal Gorge entry, so we called to get more information. There was no wait to get on the 4 wheelers. They gave us challenging fun, with scenic stops along the way! Our guide, Mike, did a great job looking out for us and offered great conversation.

We had an amazing time with this company! Family trip ages 4-69. Everyone thought this was the highlight of the trip! Our guide Adam was amazing and made it fun for every age group! The kids and adults loved the face mask you can purchase! This is highly recommended as it gets very dusty! Would recommend to anyone coming through the area!

We arrived with no reservations, they took great care of us. We are experienced riders and did not want an 8 person tour eating dust. They gave us a private tour to the top of the mountain and we had an absolute blast. Dirty faces and all! I highly recommend them!

We booked the Rocky Mountain Romance Tour to celebrate our 13th Anniversary this past Saturday. I was a little nervous because the weather was not liking favorable, but we decided to go ahead and keep the reservation and boy are we glad we did! Dave was our guide and we happened to be the only couple on the tour that evening. We showed up a few minutes after the recommended arrival time, but they had our helmets and goggles ready to go. Once we got up to the trails, Dave gave a brief overview of the ATV operation procedures and safety guidelines and off we went. The ride up to Inspiration Point was great, And the views were spectacular!! Thankfully the rain held out for the entire time we were at the top of the point (about 45 minutes or so). Then we headed down in the rain (not too wet with the rain gear on and the ATV roll cage topper). Dave guided us to the lower trails where we got to pick up the speed and had some fun in the mud before heading back to the loading area. For our first ATV tour in the Arkansas River area, we were impressed and will definitely be back!

"MJ" arrives in Denver, reviving Michael Jackson's iconic music and dance on stage

One of the most popular musicals on tour has arrived in Denver, as "MJ" the musical prepares to play the Buell Theatre through April 28. The show follows the journey of Michael Jackson's life, from childhood to his creation of The Dangerous World Tour. While the music shines throughout the two and a half hour performance, Jackson's iconic dance moves are also fully on display.

 Cast members, like Jamaal Fields Green, have the difficult task of trying to recreate Jackson's iconic dance moves on stage any given night.

"It is Michael Jackson, it is as important as it gets," Fields-Green said. "There's pressure for sure, with an icon as big as he was and still is."

Fields-Green and his peers learned how to imitate Jackson as best as possible thanks, in-part, to their opportunity to learn from Jackson's choreographers, Rich + Tone Talauega. The duo worked directly with Michael Jackson during some of his tours and were able to give their insight to those on the MJ cast to make sure audiences get a near-authentic experience to a Michael Jackson concert.

Directed and choreographed by Christopher Wheeldon, MJ brings Jackson back to life on stage.

JoJo Carmichael, swing and assistant dance captain, said she always aspired to dance with Jackson.

"I would have loved to be a tour dancer with Michael Jackson," Carmichael said.

Though Jackson died before Carmichael had the opportunity to complete her dream, she said she was thrilled to be able to share what she has learned with other younger generations.

"I think I definitely am carrying on his legacy. Teaching his moves does help carry on the legacy of Michael Jackson and MJ the musical," Carmichael said. "I don't take that lightly."

Carmichael and some of her fellow cast and crew from MJ get the opportunity to teach some of Jackson's moves to students around the country.

Ahead of the show's stop in Denver, Carmichael spent time teaching students from Salt Lake School of the Arts how to dance to Michael Jackson's hit song, "Smooth Criminal."

"To be able to share this gift, it is a dream come true," Carmichael said. "We learn Michael Jackson and his influences in his dance."

Teens like Shayne Souvall and Gray Henry never got to see Jackson perform live, but are still big fans.

"I grew up listening to Michael Jackson a lot. I used to choreograph dances to 'Man in the Mirror' in the backyard," Henry told CBS News Colorado's Dillon Thomas.

During an exclusive advanced preview, and behind the scenes tour, of MJ, Thomas was able to watch as Carmichael taught students one of the most rapid dances in Smooth Criminal.

"(Learning this from the cast) is super fun and crazy, because we don't get to meet the swings often," Henry said.

The students started out slow, learning the hand motions to the dance. Then, they slowly started learning the steps at a slowed down pace before trying it with music.

"I really like how upbeat it is," Souvall said.

"It was so hard and challenging," Henry said. "It was funny because we all laughed and were like oh, we didn't realize it was that fast."

Carmichael said it is just as difficult to teach the dance as it is to learn it.

"Whew. To do it is a challenge and a push in itself, and teaching it is just as hard," Carmichael said.

After watching the students learn the dance and perform it multiple times, the cast and crew of MJ offered Thomas the opportunity to learn the same dance.

"The dancing is super important to nail. A lot of practice, for sure," Fields-Green said.

Thomas, who has no educational or professional dance experience at all, agreed to give it a humble try. And, in doing so, was humbled by the difficulty.

"What would you say I am in for?" Thomas asked Henry and Souvall.

"A treat. A big one. A really hard fast treat," they collectively said. "Just don't stick your body up really high. Stay really grounded, because the movement is fast. Move with efficiency," Henry said.

Dance Supervisor Justin Prescott joined Fields-Green in teaching Thomas all of the dance moves.

"I remember being five (years-old) and doing Smooth Criminal," Prescott said.

Though it took a while to learn the dance, Thomas eventually managed to get enough of it down to be able to say he did it. But, fortunately for the audiences, the professionals will be the ones doing the dance on stage.

But the students who learned the dances from MJ said they were inspired to keep pursuing dance and the performing arts.

"It really proves and shows us it is possible. It takes a lot of work and dedication and drive. But, it really is possible," Henry said.

"It shows you that you really can do it, you can achieve it. If you believe in yourself, anything is possible," Carmichael said.

AUGUSTA, Ga. (AP) — It doesn’t faze Wyndham Clark that no player has won in his Masters debut since Fuzzy Zoeller 45 years ago.

“Stats like that are meant to be broken,” Clark said.

Of course, Clark is not your ordinary Masters newcomer.

He has the rare distinction of playing in his first Masters as the U.S. Open champion , not to mention being one of the hottest players on the PGA Tour.

Clark followed up two PGA Tour victories last year by winning at Pebble Beach in February and finishing second at the Arnold Palmer Invitational Pro-Am and The Players Championship, where he finished one shot behind world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler in a three-way tie.

Ranked fourth in the world, Clark enters this tournament with a 40-1 shot to win, according to FanDuel Sportsbook .

While Clark acknowledged that winning as a Masters rookie would be a tall task, he’s quick to add that few could have predicted he would win the U.S. Open last summer.

“So I like my chances,” he said.

Clark isn’t the only notable newcomer playing this week at Augusta National.

Ludvig Aberg of Sweden, ranked No. 9 in the world, is a popular pick despite never testing the slippery greens at Augusta National. He won a PGA Tour event as a rookie and had two wins in foursomes at the 2023 Ryder Cup in Rome, helping the Europeans dominate .

And don’t forget about Alabama sophomore Nick Dunlap, who stunned the golf world in January by becoming the first amateur to win a PGA Tour event in 33 years when he captured The American Express.

He’s since turned pro and is ready to cash in at the Masters.

If you’re looking for a sleeper, there’s also Dean Shipley, who received an automatic invitation to the Masters by finishing runner-up in the 2023 U.S. Amateur, where he lost to Dunlap 4 and 3.

“It’s a tricky balance because obviously I’m feeling all the first-time feelings that everyone’s feeling, but I’m also trying to be OK with all those things coming at me,” Aberg said of his Masters debut. “I guess all I’m trying to do is just embrace all the nerves and all the excitement that I feel, and at the same time know my capabilities and know that that’s probably going to be good enough to compete.”

All 20 newcomers have been given an opportunity to play practice rounds at Augusta National in the weeks leading up the tournament. Some even played a round or two here in college.

So it won’t be like they’re playing Amen Corner for the first time.

Clark has played 72 holes leading up to Thursday’s first round, so there is some familiarity with the undulations of the greens.

But he knows the course becomes a whole different beast this week.

“Come tournament week, just how firm and fast the greens are versus when you come here six, eight weeks ago and it’s nice and receptive,” Clark said. “That’s a little bit of a difference.”

Clark said he’s approaching this tournament just like any other — trying to have fun, while realizing he’s living his childhood dream of playing the Masters.

This was his favorite tournament to watch growing up.

His father attended in 2005, the year Tiger Woods made that remarkable chip in on the 16th hole en route to his fourth green jacket. Clark watched that at home on television, looking for his dad in the crowd.

Whether Clark or another newcomer can pull off a similar bit of magic amid the towering pines and flowering azaleas and win the Masters remains to be seen.

But he wouldn’t be shocked if it happens.

“If it’s not me this week it could be Ludvig or someone else that does it,” Clark said. “I think the guys that are playing professional golf now have gotten so good, and I don’t think we really listen to all of that. We just see the golf ball and put it where we want to put it and wherever the ball ends up, we go and hit it again and try to win a golf tournament.”
