The cabins are spacious and comfortable with a large balcony viewing the immense bay. I felt satisfied with most activities on the cruise and offshore except for the stop at a gift shop on the way out. We did not really need to buy anything. Btw, a water puppet show on our way back to Hanoi was very fascinating.

Cruise itinerary

At 8:00 am, be picked up by our luxury van to depart for Bai Tu Long Bay. Arrive at noon and check in. 

Check-in, enjoy welcome drink & cruise briefing. After check in, have lunch while cruising to magnificent BaiTu Long Bay; admire the fascinating formations on the way. The first stop is at Thien Canh Son Cave. After that, cruise to Hon Co Island to kayak or swim in the emerald water.

Get back to junk for refreshing before having dinner. After dinner, you have free time to fish squid, watch movies, socialize with other guests, or relax in the room. Overnight on board.

Wake up and enjoy free tea/coffee and have breakfast. Visit Vung Vieng Fishing Village - one of the most ancient villages in Bai Tu Long area. You will expereince a sampan boart rowed by a local and watch the local life of fisherman. At 10:00am, check out and enjoy buffet brunch while the ship cruises back to the harbor.

Disembark and drive back. Arrive in Hanoi at about 3:00 pm. Trip ends.

Pick up from your hotel (transfer not included in cabin price). Enjoy the 3 hour drive through the scenic countryside leading Hanoi to Halong Bay.

Embark at Halong International Cruise Port. Check in and enjoy welcome drink, have lunch as the cruise starts sailing. At about 3:30pm, visit Vung Vieng Fishing Village by a rowing boat. You can see floating houses and farm, and learn about the tough life of local people on the bay.

Get back to the cruise to freshen up and watch the amazing sunset from the top deck. Have dinner and overnight in Bai Tu Long area.

Have dinner and overnight on board. There are plenty of evening activities such as massage service, squid fishing, board games for you to enjoy.

Wake up for tea and coffee as you say goodbye to the Bay. Have breakfast on board. Visit Thien Canh Son Cave with stunning stalactites and stalagmites. At 10:00, check out the cabin and enjoy a hearty brunch in the dining area while cruising back to Halong Cruise Port. Disembark at around 11:30.

12:00 Embark on the Dragon Bay Cruise from Tuan Chau Marina

12:30 While a decent lunch on L’Sun restaurant, the Cruise start its journey toward the extend part of Halong Bay – Lan Ha Bay. We’ll pass by many famous destination of the area such as Finger Islet , Candle Islet , and so on. 

15:00: Visit the Dark and Bright Cave . The splendour of the area will astound you, with its distinctively sculpted karst formations, limestones, and pure nature. In addition, engaging in enjoyable water activities such as swimming and kayaking will help you relax after long days of work.

17:00: Return to Dragon Bay Cruise. Relax in the long chairs on the sundeck, sip a drink from the cruise bar’s ‘Happy Hours’ and watch the sunset. Attend a cooking class later on, lead by cruise experienced chef. 

18:30: Dinner time.

 The Cruise anchor in a quiet area for good sleep. 

6:30: Wake up early to take photos of the sunrise on board (Optional)

7:00: Recharge your energy with our buffet breakfast.

08:00: Arrive at Tra Bau Fishing Village, a community rich in culture. You’ll have the opportunity to see their fish rack and talk with the fishermen about their everyday lives. Last but not least, getting a kayak to explore the hidden part of the area where the main cruise cannot go.

09:30: Come back for checking out

10:30: A light brunch on board. 

11:30: Get back to Tuan Chau Marina. Say goodbye to Dragon Bay Cruise. 

Arrive and check in Dragon Bay Cruise.

Enjoy a delicious lunch while sailing around the Bay’s breathtaking sights. The cruise will dock in Dark & Night Cave , a beautiful seascape in Halong Bay known for its emerald green water and lyrical beauty. 1 hour of kayaking and swimming.

Later in the afternoon, return to Dragon Bay Cruise. Immerse yourself in the tranquillity of the bay while sipping a fresh cocktail from the Sunset Party .

Dinner time. Overnight on board

After a Taichi Class to calm your mind and body, having breakfast and heading to the day cruise to explore rural area of Lan Ha Bay. 

Discover Viet Hai Village by bike. Bicycle through through vast rice field and stop by a local house to learn about their easy but interesting daily life. 

Return to the day cruise.

It’s time to meet the water again by visiting Ba Trai Dao – Most beautiful beach of Lan Ha Bay . You’re free to swimming or just simply relaxing on the white sand. 

Then, transferred to Cat Ba Island by Bus. 

After dinner, explore the Cat Ba Night Life . Overnight in a hotel (hotel included).

Get picked up from your hotel and taken on a day cruise. Later, transfer to the Dragon Bay Cruise and continue to enjoy the beauty of Lan Ha Bay.

Having lunch as we make our way back to the harbour.

Arrive at Tuan Chau Marina and disembark. Bid farewell to the Crew.

The cruise would be back to the port at 11:30. It then take 3 hours to get back to Hanoi airport & 45 mins to get to Hai Phong airport. As a results, we strongly suggest:

• Flight from Cat Bi Airport (Hai Phong City): After 2pm
• Flight from Noi Bai Airport (Hanoi City): After 5pm

When packing for Cruise, the most important items to bring are comfortable clothing, swimwear, and sunscreen. If you travel during winter months (November to Feb), you may also need to pack a light jacket or sweater to keep warm during cooler evenings.

 Typically, each cruise provides 1 – 2 bottles of water for free every day, and you will not be allowed to bring your own drinks. So, if you want to stay hydrated, bring some money (the drinks on board are a little pricy)

It is also recommended that you bring a camera or smartphone with enough of storage capacity for photos and videos in order to make the most of your trip. Prepare some waterproof protection for them, as you will be doing a lot of water-based activities.

Amazing staff and activites. Harry was an excellent tour guide and was able to always socialize with guests and bring a great energy to all the activities. Tutu (I Believe that was his name) was also awesome and helped make sure I was comfortable during my stay. I definitely recommend the two day package to anybody as the adventure at Cat Ba island on the second day was a lot of fun, being able to see the Villages and bike around. It was Truly a great stay and I will definitely be back!

The first thing I love about this cruise is the hospitality! Everybody is so nice & friendly. The cabins are so quiet, peaceful, and comfortable, I slept like a lodge. The activities are just enough, not rushing and the food is so good. Me and my friends had such a great time.

The entire experience was fantastic, the bay is amazing and the staff incredible, they were very helpful leading up to the cruise day and during the cruise itself.

Customer service was superb, she went above and beyond to help me out and arrange plan B very quickly. In short, I missed my connection flight and they were able to arrange a private pickup and speed boat transfer so I didn’t have to miss the experience. As soon as I arrived at the cruise, they offered to cook me food as I missed their lunch.

The boat was great with good clean facilities, a comfortable cabin which included an ensuite and balcony and free tea, coffee and bottled water in the room. All the staff were friendly and helpful. The cruise director was excellent and ensured we were informed at all times, from pickup to drop off.

Nice and Spacious Room and Private balcony. Also the Staff from the Booking (Jessy) and the constant follow with Trung, Harry and Jenny. A great team of waiters and cook on the boat lead by “N#4”. Christmas Karaoke was awesome. Awesome team work :)

Child Policy

• Only 1 (one) child under 12 years old is allowed to stay in the same cabin with two (2) adults.
• The child under 4 years old sharing the existing bed with parents is FOC only when he/she does not include any meal. 
• Children from 4-6 years old sharing the existing bed with parents will be charged for the meals as follows: 70 US$ per child for the 2 days/1 night itinerary, and 130 US$ per child for the 3 days/2 nights itinerary. 
• Children from 4-12 years old using an extra bed in the existing cabin with parents will be charged as follows: 103 US$ per child for the 2 days/1 night itinerary, and 183 US$ per child for the 3 days/2 nights itinerary. 
• Children less than 12 years old using the separate bed will be charged 75% adult price. 
• Children less than 12 years old using the separate single cabin will be charged 75% adult price. If he/she using the separate double cabin will be charged 75% adult price plus 75% of the single supplement. 
• For the private chartered cruise, the children more than 4 years old will be charged as adult price. Children less than 4 years old will be free of charge only when they don't include any meal.

We recently went on the Dragon Legend cruise for 3D2N. The cruise was wonderful, you are surrounded by fantastic scenery from the minute you leave the harbour. This is then complimented by the excellent customer service and delicious food. My wife and I have an open pallet so it was enjoyable to try so many different dishes, particularly the sea food.  The rooms are beautiful and far better then our expectations. We were on our honeymoon and the crew did stuff to make us feel special, which was really appreciated.  The tour guides were Mr Smiley and Coco who did a great job of keeping all the guests informed of the activities and itinerary, whilst supplying us with good entertainment.  We would recommend this to anyone, as they cater for families, couples and groups of friends.

We recently went on a 2 night 3 day cruise to Bai Tu Long onDragon Legend with our 2 teenage daughters. It was fabulous. The cabins were really large and luxurious, the food was amazing, the scenery beautiful, the activities were heaps of fun and plenty of time to relax on the sundeck drining cocktails. Our tour guide Andy was lovely and funny and good to be with. Going to Bai Tu Long was a good option as it wasn't as busy as Halong Bay. Highly recommend this cruise.

It seems that all hands on the staff of Indo-China Junk’s Dragon Legend are dedicated to providing incredible service to every passenger on board! All meals that we had on-board the Dragon Legend were expertly prepared and presented with style; but that is NOT the reason to take this incredible cruise. The cabins on-board the Dragon Legend are REMARKABLE! VERY Spacious, Spotlessly clean and pleasantly furnished! But that is not the reason to take this incredible cruise. The scheduled high-quality activities are both very interesting and most enjoyable; but this, also, is not the reason to take this incredible cruise. Highly desirable is the simplicity of this all-in tour which provides transport via luxury van to and from your Hanoi Hotel to embarking on the Dragon Legend; but this is NOT the reason to take this incredible tour . THE REASON – and this is very simple -- is the incredible beauty of Bai Tu Long Bay, a less visited part of Halong Bay. The idyllic islands and dramatic karst formations of Halong Bay are a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Vietnam’s most photographed sights .  IF, you are interested in seeing pure beauty of the natural world, this would make the cruise of the Dragon Legend an ABSOLUTE MUST DO!

Halong Bay is well known for its phenomenal limestone formations and wild sandy beaches but its geomorphology includes many fantastic caves. While cruising to discover Bai Tu Long Bay, passing through islets, you will have the opportunity to visit the marvelous thousand-year old Thien Canh Son cave on Paradise Island.

Following a narrow path to enter the cave you will be astonished by this spectacular and breathtaking masterpiece of nature. The climb is a little bit tough with elderly but totally fine with the young and middle age people. But the view from the top is absolutely worth it!

Vung Vieng Floating Fishing Village

In the past, Vung Vieng fishing village has a population of hundreds local of livings. They live on fishing and tourism activities, with food and water being transported from the mainland of a dozen kilometers from there. The colorful floating houses, home to multiple generations, give you a sense of the lifestyle of the local people.

Nowadays, according to the policy of authority, all of the residents of floating village have to move on land to reside for the sake of ensuring children’s education and life quality but we still believe that Vung Vieng village is still an interesting attraction that partly provides our guests a glimpse of “floating lives” on Halong Bay. It was an outstanding feature of local fishing villagers living on the World Heritage Site.

Yen Duc Village

A village on the way between Hanoi and Halong Bay, Yen Duc village is currently one of the few villages in the Delta still retain traditional agricultural life and sincere beauty of rural life with the golden rice fields in harvesting time, the gardens of areca trees in the sun. Considered as a “Stone wall” under the war, the village was a cradle of revolutionary movements with many brave, ingenious heroes and local people sacrificed to protect their hometown.

Similar to another rustic countryside, the local people here are very diligent, gentle and optimistic. The food was delicious and plentiful. The rooms were beautiful and the beds were comfortable. It was relaxing and peaceful, but there were a lot of activities to keep us busy. They also take the time to explain the itinerary to you and also educate you on the “green bay” initiative which looks to try and keep the local area pollution free. I would love to go back and do it again!
