It.s a Marathi establishment and anyone out side it will be like fish out of water.I had this experience and believe me I felt like an untouchable.Horrible . The language of conversation is also Marathi.

I am totally unhappy with Thomas Cook, on trip to Andamans they put me in terrible hotel at port Blair , a room with just a bed ( called it 3 star), did not give time for lunch on one segment, being diabetic that became a serious concern

Did not take us to many tourist attractions though was mentioned in their list, Claimed these were COMPLEMENTARY AND HENCE WE SHOULD COVER IT ON OUT OWN. This was mentioned in the offer letter. Did not give the iteneary till the last .

In short package was grossly mis- sold. Did not expect that from a number one tour operater. Could not even connect to them on phone after the money was paid.

Due to India's size and topography, the climate varies from place to place but the best time to visit, generally speaking, is in the winter from December until early March. During the coolest months (December-January), temperatures can get quite cold in Delhi and in the north, especially at night. Squat toilets are the most common toilets in India. Always carry your own toilet paper and soap or hand sanitizer, as they are usually not provided. Flushable, Western-style toilets can be found in up-market restaurants, some higher-end hotels and in some tourist areas.

India’s unit of currency is the rupee:

• Cup of tea = INR 7-10
• Small bottle of beer = INR 150-350
• Meal at a local restaurant (thali, masala dosa or similar) = INR 100-200
• Meal in a tourist restaurant = INR 350-600

Can I drink the tap water in India?

India is notorious among travelers for sickness – we’ve all heard horror stories about Delhi belly. We do not recommend ever drinking tap water in India, and travelers should avoid drinks with ice and foods that haven’t been cooked or peeled. Salad is off the menu for now ­– let your inner child rejoice!

Are credit cards widely accepted in India?

Credit cards are being accepted in an increasing number of cafes, shops, restaurants and hotels in India, with Mastercard and Visa being the most common. That said, cash is still king, especially outside of cities like Kolkata, Delhi and Mumbai.

What is ATM access like in India?

ATMs are widespread across India in both cities and smaller towns. Visa, Mastercard, Cirrus and Maestro are the most commonly accepted cards, but of those Visa and Mastercard are more likely to have success. The daily withdrawal limit differs from bank to bank.

What is the weather like in India?

The weather in India varies from region to region, but it’s generally safe to say that December–February sees dry, cooler weather before the heat intensifies from March–May. June, July and August are the monsoon months, though the amount of rain differs across the country, while October, September and November see rainfall ease once more.

India has different classifications of holidays because of the multitude of faiths in the country. There are compulsory holidays and then various others chosen by government offices within each state. The following are the compulsory ‘gazetted holidays’ taken by government offices across India:

Is India safe for LGBTQIA+ travelers?

The majority of Indian society is still conservative, and while most travelers will have a welcoming and hospitable experience, discretion is still advised for LGBTQIA+ travelers, particularly in more remote towns and villages which may be more conservative. The same advice is also given to heterosexual couples (and couples of all other sexual orientations) as public displays of affection other than hugging and holding hands are generally frowned upon.

I was a little anxious about this tour as I was a solo female traveler and had read some reviews of not so great experiences. I want to say I had the best time and everything was fantastic! In Delhi I had Alvina as a tour guide and she was knowledgeable and helpful. In Agra I had Ahmit as a tour guide and I have to say he really knew the history as well, especially about the Taj Mahal which was an amazing experience. The last tour guide I had in Jaipur was Bhawani, he was super friendly and knowledgeable as well. The fees to the monuments are not included but it does say that when you book it. I already knew I would have to tip each guide and the driver as it is the culture here to do that but they were all appreciative about it and it was well deserving. I saw some reviews about being taken to the different shops but once again you don't have to buy anything and if you want to skip them you can ask your guide and there is no issues. Hotels were great especially the last one in Jaipur, it was a homestay with great hospitality. Last but not least thankyou to my driver Arvind! He made everything so smooth and comfortable. I can't express how much he made the trip so much better with his kindness and knowledge. Thankyou so much Arvind!

I was the only person on the your and as promised it went ahead so I had personalisd device throughout. Both my drivers (both called Mahendra) and the local guides were excellent and the organisation of each day was a well oiled machine!

The trip was absolutely amazing experience. you get to experience true beauty of India. The tour almost covered everything to do in the cities and some great local experience like walking tours, local home visit for cultural experience. Our driver Ramesh was very friendly. We always felt safe with our driver and the guides. Truly an unmissable experience, everything was perfect.

Colorful India with Taj Mahal & Rajasthan

Good trip that could have been better. Provider failed to provide basic details. I felt that I had to chase down the answers. (before trip I asked for list of hotels; pushed to get taxi from airport arranged) Then on the trip only the general itinerary from the web page was provided. Destinations were good. Hotels were good. Driver was very good. Some guides were better than others. Failure to disclose that each day had a shopping trip was unacceptable. Guides were also invested in the shopping trips that made us feel that they were less there on our behalf. We lost valuable vacation time with each shopping stop. Stops for lunch was mediocre at best and were prearranged. The costs at the lunch stops were much more than other meals on our three week trip. Food was bland and expensive.

Golden Triangle Tour With Ranthambore

I travelled to India as a single mother with my 13 year old son and we booked the golden triangle with Ranthambore trip for 8 days. From the initial booking of the trip on line with Tour radar, the run up to the holiday and throughout the trip, I found the communication and service to have been excellent. There was a small issue prior to departure after a PayPal payment for additional activities that I had paid a month prior was bizarrely sent back to me, but I paid this in cash on my arrival to India. Thankfully the mishap didn’t affect the planned additional activities. Our driver ‘Messi’ picked us up at the airport and looked after us throughout the entire 8 day trip. He was brilliant, always available and friendly. We stayed in 4 different hotels, that were mostly adequate and comfortable. I wouldn’t class them as UK 4 star, but reasonable for the price you are paying. The second hotel in Jaipur unfortunately was not best as the location was very near to an open sewage river and ontop of the smell from that, there was a wedding on the hotel grounds across the road, that kept us awake all night when we had to be up at 4 am the following morning for an early start. We had tour guides in Delhi, Jaipur and Agra who were all very knowledgeable and friendly and whilst we were in Ranthambore on tiger safari, the safari guides were also good and we had an amazing experience of seeing a tiger very close up. Agra and the Taj Mahal was incredible and was the perfect ending to our trip before we went back to Delhi and flew home.

Golden Triangle Tour with Varanasi

The tour was wonderful overall. The guides were all extremely knowledgeable and they and the drivers were very accommodating. The staff/tour operators were also perfectly responsive in answering all my questions before the tour (and which helped my confidence that I would be in good hands as I chose the tour only after finding tourradar/WTX randomly from a Google search online) as well as perfectly communicative with me during the tour so that I always knew who would be picking me up and when with the drivers’ contact info. always provided, etc. The only complaint I would have was I didn’t care for the frequent inclusion of stops at various shops in the itinerary as I often felt pressure from the shopkeepers to buy some of their items. While I didn’t mind seeing some of their merchandise I would have preferred simply observing that with no pressure to buy anything (unless I asked to) and even though they would typically say there would be no pressure I felt this frequently. In general though the tour was excellent and I was extremely happy with my experience with WTX.

Premium India in Depth

Intrepid Premium India in Depth (November 13 - 25) Mumbai - Delhi Excellent tour leader along with very good local informative guides. 3 changes in accommodation; Mumbai - Gordon House Hotel is excellent, well priced and only 1 street back from Gateway to India but the company changed to Fariyas Hotel, Mumbai which was been renovated as well as painted so very noisy, couldn't use the pool and scaffolding all around. Definitely not ideal. Our second night in Delhi was also cancelled at Jaypee Siddharth Hotel though privately booked and paid for months before the tour so had to find alternative accommodation while on the tour and they told the travel agents they were "closed for renovations" however the tour was booked and stayed there and no renovations were occuring. Hadoti Palace Hotel in Bundi looked nice and rooms were big but not clean especially the toilet and shower. Otherwise all hotels were very nice and rated accurately; cleaning the showers/washrooms would have helped with the mouldy smell but that is somewhat consistent in most countries. November is the start of wedding season in India which are very loud and noisy and have no time restrictions so be prepared for that if going at this time of year. Tour involves quite a number of days travelling in a bus/coach for 4 - 6 hours with a stop every 2 - 3 hours. Rest stops are OK at best with only snack food to purchase. Adjusting the departure time would have helped with timeframes as quite a few days we were getting lunch around 2 - 3 pm when hotel kitchens were closed. Definitely not enough free time for shopping on your own with organized evenings most nights or in a venue on the outside of towns. Toured the markets but they were only a walk through with the group and no time to stop and shop. Restaurants and food was amazing and no one was unwell on the trip. 2 days in Ranthambhore Park was too long and could have done in 1.5 days with more time in Agra. Overall a very good trip for myself and my father (aged 79).

Luxury 3 Day Golden Triangle With 5 star Hotel

We just completed a GREAT three-day Golden Triangle tour of Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur. First, I have to say our driver, Khan, must have gotten his amazing driving skills in another world! He navigated the most difficult roads and situations with ease, making sure we were comfortable and safe the whole time. When visiting a new place, this is so important! He also pointed out a lot of sites and gave us additional points on Indian cultural, all is great English. The daily tour guides did an excellent job too. Each one had an incredible amount of historical, cultural, and societal knowledge and was happy to share with us. It’s was a fast trip, but we saw and learned a lot. I highly recommend this trip to anyone interested in seeing a slice on Indian life and learning about Indian culture.

Golden Triangle Tour - 3 Days

This was an excellent 3 day tour of some of India's most famous places and I cannot praise it enough! The driver was great and the tour guides were all very professional, knowledgeable, patient with questions, spoke good English and also eager to be sure you enjoyed their tour! I felt that they all earned their tips and deserved them.The hotels rooms also were quite adequate with restaurants with delicious food. I felt very safe and well taken care of as an older woman of 73 years traveling alone. The schedule was not too tiring for an older person. Here is more detail if you want it. The driver Deevan Singh was a super safe driver, very courteous, kind, always early and eager to please. He made the long drives pleasant. He did not speak English as well as the tour guides, but we were able to understand one another. He even sang Krishna songs for me! He was able to get me to the airport on time for my night flight home to the USA on the last day of the tour despite a major traffic jam in Delhi. I want to recognize the young man who was my tour guide of Delhi. He also showed me the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial at my request even though it was not on the itinerary. I also saw the India Gate, Presidential Palace, Lodmi Gardens and tomb, and an amazing old Muslim multi-story well from the 13th century. I am sorry I did not write down his name to give him proper credit. I also especially want to recognize my Agra tour guide Hilal for the Taj Mahal and Red Fort. He was older and a very experienced tour guide for 30 years. At my request he additionally took me to see the back view of the Taj at sunset when we arrived the first evening, as well as gave me the detailed tour the next morning at sunrise. He was very kind, informative and unhurried so I could take my time seeing it all more slowly. He knew the best photo ops and even took photos of me there. I suggest you ask for him for Agra! My tour guide Anil Sharma for Jaipur was also great and an experienced guide of 20 years even though he seemed young. We saw the Amer Fort, Wind Palace from the exterior, and toured the astronomical observatory which was amazing. I had wanted to ride the elephants at the Amer Fort but he suggested we wait till the afternoon. At first I was disappointed, but he was right that it was better to do it that way as you could take more time and have photos taken. The elephant ride was my favorite part of the entire trip! He also took photos of me at various places with my camera and then used his when my battery finished and sent them to me. The only small complaint I have is that the two hotels - the Maple in Agra and Amer Valley in Jaipur - were older and not so well maintained if you looked very closely. But this is part of being in India and could be overlooked because they were clean, had a nice appearance and courteous staff. If you want to travel in more luxury, be sure to pay extra for an upgrade if you can. I have been to India 6 times but before always traveling alone. This time it was so comfortable and pleasant to be on a tour and taken care of so well with experienced people. As you can tell, I loved this tour and highly recommend it to everyone! The Victoria Memorial at night especially is ethereal! The rooms are large and spotlessly clean- in fact one of my reasons for making this choice was the Glenburn name and knowing that they would take the greatest care about health and hygiene in these pandemic times. However, this transaction was later shown to be fraudulent. A legal battle followed between this deal and Jayachamarajendra's son, Srikanta Datta. The five sisters of Srikanta Datta are now in possession of sections of the 28 acres of the Palace. In the year 1990 Srikant Datta finally compromised with the Chamaraju group and got back his part of the property including the main Palace except for 45 acres that the Chamaraju group still retains. Architecture:The Palace showcases exquisite wooden interiors surrounded by pristine walls. The Palace is enclosed within beautiful gardens. The architecture is a medley of Tudor style and Scottish style and has gothic undertones. A lot of physical artefacts inside are of British origin. It is said that the architecture of this building is inspired by that of the Windsor Castle and other architectural marvels of England and Normandy. The most prominent features of the Palace like the two-level granite structure of the fortified towers and turreted parapets take direct inspiration from the Tudor building styles. The entrance is decorated with grand Roman arches. The exterior of the building is covered in eccentric shapes and angles. The exterior walls are of a blushing cinnabar shade that gives the building a quaint Victorian vibe. The floor of the open courtyard of the Palace is adorned with granite seats covered with azure ceramic tiles. The ground floor also contains a beautifully decorated ballroom.The first floor of the Palace has a distinct chamber known as the Durbar Hall attached to an ornate staircase.This hall is famous for the enormous elephant head that is mounted in it and its gothic style tinted glass windows.

Parvez Khan of Indian Journey is a talented tour organizer and thoughtful human being. Parvez arranged a five-person, 24-day trip that included Delhi, Rajasthan, Agra, Varanasi, and Kerala that was utterly delightful and seamless. Despite his smiling presence and calm demeanor, I knew he worked hard behind the scenes to handle every detail to make sure everything went smoothly.

Two couples and long time friends booked a trip starting in Goa, driving to Hampi, then flying to Madurai. We again had a driver and explored world heritage sites from Kancheepuram to the backwaters of Kerala. Hotels were excellent and importantly so were our driver who were experienced and spoke good English. Our agent was always available by phone and always helpful the few times needed. Trip could not have been better. Recommend without reservation.

From 2014 to 2018 I’ve done 3 tour in India Rajasthan, South India, Varanasi, Amritsar, and I’m going to have the fourth. I like India and I’m strictly joint with this country. I went in contact with Parvez and Indian Journey in a wonderful period I was in India to adopt my daughter and since then Parvez-Bahi was for me not only the best travel agent ever known but over all he was a brother an angel who protected me and my family and friends, in India.

We used Indian Journey this month for a Golden Triangle itinerary. Without a doubt, every driver, guide, and representative were top notch and immediately available via text, phone, or Whataspp (preferred).

Not once did we feel out of touch nor left questioning our itinerary. The guides were able to be a bit flexible with personal goals and priorities.

Excellent staff, prompt communication, flexibility, and guides. Just beware of the hard sell at the Cottage Industries mandatory handicraft/carpet shops.

Our third trip with Indian Journey was as memorable as ever. We have previously used Parvez (INDIAN JOURNEY) for touring Rajasthan and then a year later Amritsar, Shimla & Manali. All hotel bookings were good , Pawan our Driver was superb (we had him for 15 days in this last road trip). I have yet to come across a more decent and polite travel organisation in India, where the emphasis is on service and well being of the customer with very good prices.

This trip we did this time was Delhi, Agra, Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and finally Udaipur. We stayed 2 nights at each location.

I would have no hesitation to recommend (and I have already sent a number of my friends in the UK Parvez’s details) INDIAN JOURNEY for organizing your next holiday.

If you want home away from home than you should get in touch with Indian Journey Mr Parvez Khan. I have used other service providers in India on my previous visits but no one came close to Indian Journey when it comes to your comfort and service. You will be treated as a family member of Indian Journey.

I have visited lots of places and the best thing is that as soon as you reach your Hotel to check in you will receive a call from Indian Journey to ask if the Hotel is to your liking and if not they arrange to transfer you to another Hotel with fulfills your needs and wants. I have visited India more than five times with young family and solo.There is no comparison in service and comfort with Indian Journey. Don’t just take my word for it, try it and you will not be disappointed.
