Report – Linkin Park Considering 2025 Reunion Tour With Three Classic Members + New Singer

Billboard is reporting that, according to sources close to Linkin Park , the band is considering a 2025 reunion tour with a woman singer and three classic members.

It is said that Linkin Park have yet to find this potential new vocalist, who would succeed the late Chester Bennington , but are searching for one.

Regarding this whispered reunion, the music publication also notes that booking agency WME  is "taking offers" for a tour and headlining festival dates "featuring  Mike Shinoda , Brad Delson and Dave Farrell." This suggests that longtime members Rob Bourdon and Joe Hahn  may not be involved.

Nothing in  Billboard 's report speculates what this means regarding what would then be the band's needs for a drummer and sampler/turntableist/synth player.

Orgy Singer Jay Gordon Leaked Linkin Park's Plans

At the end of March, Orgy singer Jay Gordon leaked details about Linkin Park's forthcoming plans , suggesting the band was going to regroup with a woman singer.

When asked about his favorite Chester Bennington memories, Gordon instead turned to the future rather than reflecting on the past.

“Very, very cool guys and obviously a great band. They’ve been around a long time and they’re still going for it. It’s going to be tough without Chester [Bennington], but we’ll see. I hear they got a girl singer now. That’s what I heard," Gordon said during the interview, which was released as a video.

Pressed about Linkin Park's return, Gordon offered, “Don’t quote me on that. I’m not sure who the singer is going to be," and then reiterated, "but I heard it was gonna be female. They might just try to move on like that. That ought to be interesting.”

After this news traveled, Gordon issued a statement in an attempt to reassign blame for his own comments. He claimed his words were taken "out of context," despite widespread media coverage which accurately quoted him.

The singer also claimed he "never brought it up," despite having done so on video. He said he knows "nothing about any of that" despite repeating the claim that he heard Linkin Park were aiming to continue with a woman singer. "Strange that that dude [interviewer Radioactive Mike Z] said something to me about it not the other way around," he falsely stated.

Again, Gordon was asked about memories with Bennington and, in response, he elected to bring up Linkin Park's future entirely on his own. After doing so, he was asked more about it as asking follow-up questions on breaking news are a standard practice of an interviewer.

Evanescence's amy lee shoots down rumors of her involvement.

After Gordon leaked the news, many began to speculate that Linkin Park's new singer could be Amy Lee of Evanescence .

"That is an incredible compliment," she told Canada's iHeart Radio in response to learning she was a "fan favorite" to land the role. "I have not heard that. No, I have not been contacted [by Linkin Park] or anything like that. But [I'm a] huge fan feel like our worlds, our fanbases are a lot of the same people," she added.

As to whether or not she would consider it, Lee went on, "They should ask me about that. I don't have a ton of free time, but I might do it part time."

Linkin Park Are Reportedly Booking A 2025 Reunion Tour

While rumors of Linkin Park planning a retooled reunion tour of sorts had been circulating among the industry for several months, it wasn’t until Orgy vocalist Jay Gordon let slip that he had heard the band were reportedly planning to tour with a new female singer several weeks ago that the public got wind of the possible future of the diamond-certified nü-metal/alternative rock outfit.

Gordon would go on to walk back his comments, claiming to have been misquoted. However, Billboard are now reporting that a potential 2025 reunion tour from Linkin Park appears to be in the works. What’s more, that venture may indeed materialize with an as-yet unidentified female singer in place of the band’s beloved late vocalist Chester Bennington .

According to the aforementioned publication, booking agency WME has been taking offers for a possible 2025 reunion tour from the band, that will likely include festival appearances. The publication also cite sources claiming that vocalist/guitarist, etc. Mike Shinoda , guitarist/vocalist, etc. Brad Delson and bassist/vocalist Dave Farrell are among the members involved in this endeavor.

Industry rumors emerged several months ago that a Shinoda -led incarnation of the band had been fielding offers to play some of this spring’s rock big rock festivals, though those plans never came to pass.

This timing of the band’s apparent return follows a resurgence on the Billboard charts that has been propelled by the release of their greatest hits collection “ Papercuts “, which landed on April 12th.

Should Linkin Park follow through on this rumored return, you can rule out at least one fellow diamond-certified female vocalist who came up during the nü-metal era. Evanescence ‘s Amy Lee has denied being involved with the alleged reunion , though admitted she’d be open to fronting the outfit as a part-time gig.

The surviving members of Linkin Park ‘s classic era last took to the stage as a unit back on October 27th of 2017, performing as part of a tribute concert to the 41-year-old Bennington , who had taken his own life in July of that year.

Linkin Park considering reunion tour with new female vocalist, reports say

FILE -- Chester Bennington, left, and Mike Shinoda of the musical group Linkin Park perform on...

(Gray News) - Linkin Park is reportedly considering reuniting with a female vocalist in place of late frontman Chester Bennington.

Billboard reports three members of the group are considering a 2025 reunion tour with a female vocalist to succeed Bennington.

Following Bennington’s death in July 2017, Linkin Park has been on a hiatus.

The band’s surviving members have only performed together at a tribute concert honoring Bennington in October 2017.

Earlier this year, the group released a new greatest hits album “Papercuts,” celebrating the 20th anniversary of their “Meteora” album.

“Papercuts” quickly grabbed the No. 1 spot for hard rock albums after its release, according to Billboard . It also featured a new song titled “Friendly Fire” featuring never-before-heard vocals from Bennington.

Since Bennington’s death, there have been some discussions on how to continue the band. The group’s co-lead vocalist Mike Shinoda has said when there is something to share about the band’s plans, he will.

Regarding the latest rumors, booking agency WME has been reportedly taking offers for a Linkin Park tour along with headlining festival dates featuring Shinoda, Brad Delson and Dave Farrell.

Billboard reports that a source said the band is hoping to find a female vocalist to front the reunited band.

Earlier this month, Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee shared with iHeartRadio Canada that Linkin Park fans have said they would want her to join the band, but the group had not contacted her yet for any such gig.

“I have not been contacted or anything like that. But [I’m a] huge fan, and our fanbases are a lot of the same people,” she said. “They should ask me about that. I don’t have a ton of free time, but I might do it part-time.”

Linkin Park is one of the most successful rock groups from the 2000s, having sold nearly 30 million albums, according to Nielsen Music .

Linkin Park 'planning reunion tour with female vocalist'

Linkin Park Chester Bennington Amy Lee Evanescence

'In The End' rockers Linkin Park are reportedly planning to tour again with a new female vocalist replacing late frontman Chester Bennington .

linkin park reunion tour

The lineup would feature longtime members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson and Dave Farrell.

There is no official word on who could succeed the late singer, but a source told the outlet that the group is "hoping to find a female vocalist" to step in.

This matches recent rumours, with Jay Gordon of the band Orgy suggesting he had heard the same.

He told KCAL 96.7 show 'Wired in the Empire': "Very, very cool guys and obviously a great band. They’ve been around a long time and they’re still going for it. It’s going to be tough without Chester, but we’ll see.

"I hear they got a girl singer now. That’s what I heard.”

He later insisted his comments had been taken out of context, and claimed on social media that he knew "nothing about any of that".

Evanesence singer Amy Lee has since shot down suggestions she is lined up to join Linkin Park, which comes as fans were hoping she could be the mystery singer.

She told iHeartRadio Canada: "That is an incredible compliment. I have not heard that. No, I have not been contacted or anything like that. But [I’m a] huge fan feel like our worlds, our fanbases are a lot of the same people.”

She joked they "should ask", and despite her own hectic schedule she "might do it part-time".

Last month, guitarist Mike Shinoda insisted once there is something firm to announce, fans will hear the news direct from the 'What I've Done' group.

He told Revolver magazine: "People always ask what’s next for the band, and the best answer I can ever give anybody is when there’s something to tell you, we will tell you."

Linkin Park May Reunite for 2025 Tour with Female Vocalist

The band is reportedly fielding offers for a potential tour and festival headlining dates

Linkin Park May Reunite for 2025 Tour with Female Vocalist

Linkin Park is reportedly considering reuniting with a female vocalist in place of late frontman Chester Bennington.

Billboard reports that the band is fielding offers for a potential tour and festival headlining dates to take place in 2025. The identity of the female vocalist is not known at this time.

Following Bennington’s death July 2017, Linkin Park went on a permanent hiatus. In the time since then, the band’s surviving members have only performed together once – at a tribute concert honoring Bennington that was held in October 2017.

Earlier this year, Linkin Park released a new greatest hits album called Papercuts , which contained a previously unheard song called “Friendly Fire” featuring vocals from Bennington. “Friendly Fire” subsequently hit No. 1 on the US Rock and Alternative Airplay chart.

2000s rock band considering reunion tour with new female singer

A popular 2000s rock band is considering a reunion tour next year with a new lead singer.

Three members of Linkin Park are considering reuniting for 2025 concerts and hiring a female vocalist to lead the band, sources close to the group told Billboard . Original lead singer Chester Bennington died in 2017.

Billboard reports booking agency WME is taking offers for a potential Linkin Park tour that would feature original members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson and Dave Farrell. The group was one of the biggest acts of the 2000s with its mix of hip-hop, alternative rock and nu metal.

But who could possibly replace Bennington?

Orgy frontman Jay Gordon, who collaborated with Linkin Park on a remix of “Points of Authority” for 2002′s “Reanimation” album, told California radio station KCAL 96.7 that he heard the replacement would be a “girl singer.”

“Very, very cool guys and obviously a great band,” Gordon said in late March. “It’s going to be tough without Chester, but we’ll see. I hear they got a girl singer now. That’s what I heard.”

According to Billboard, Gordon later issued a statement saying he knows “nothing about” a new “Linkin Park singer thing.”

Evanescence singer Amy Lee, a favorite from the same era as Linkin Park, told iHeartRadio Canada last week that she has not been contacted about a possible collaboration.

“But that’s awesome,” she said. “They should ask me about that. I don’t have a ton of free time, but I might do it part-time.”

Linkin Park, known for hits like “In the End,” “Numb,” “What I’ve Done,” “One Step Closer,” and the Grammy-winning “Crawling,” fueled reunion rumors last month with a new greatest hits release featuring a previously unreleased song, “Friendly Fire.” Shinoda, also known for his work as a solo artist and with Fort Minor, said any news would come from the band’s website.

“Rumors always go around. People always ask what’s next for the band, and the best answer I can ever give anybody is when there’s something to tell you, we will tell you. When there’s an announcement to be made, it will be on LinkinPark.com ,” he told Revolver magazine. “If you’re hearing it from somebody else, you can trust that information as much as you want to trust it.”

LINKIN PARK Bassist On Band's Future: 'I Think That We Will Do Something Again At Some Point'

In a new interview with Duffy of the Z93 radio station, LINKIN PARK bassist Dave "Phoenix" Farrell was asked if he thinks there will ever be new music from him and his bandmates. He responded (as transcribed by BLABBERMOUTH.NET ): "The best answer I can give is I think that we will do something again at some point. I think we'll do, hopefully, new music. And I would love to play some shows.

"The reality of it is that the timetable, I have no idea what that is or what that looks like," he explained. "And we're not trying or haven't made any progress toward doing it.

"The relationship in the band is still intact between all the guys and we're still in communication, but everybody is always in different kind of spaces. And the amount of earth that needs to be moved to begin the construction project of LINKIN PARK and whatever that may look like is a ton, and it's not going anywhere fast.

"And so it's just kind of a 'wait and see,'" Farrell added. "I know that's not the answer that anybody wants 'cause it's not really any information. But at the same time, I think it's just kind of honestly where it's at."

LINKIN PARK has been on hiatus since the death of singer Chester Bennington in 2017.

A year ago, LINKIN PARK 's Mike Shinoda said that there are no plans for new music, albums or live shows from the band. The 46-year-old musician addressed LINKIN PARK 's future during a Twitch livestream.

"The only LINKIN PARK news I have for you is that… Yeah, we talk every few weeks — I talk to the guys, or some of the guys," he said. "And there's no tours, there's no music, there's no albums in the pipeline. Okay, so let me just tell you that. So just keep in your minds that that is not happening.

"I'm just gonna say that much for now," he continued. "I say that because anytime the band says anything or does anything, everyone tries to start up the hype train, and we're, like, 'No, no, no, no. Don't start up the hype train.' You're gonna disappoint yourself. Don't do that."

LINKIN PARK has not performed together in public since October 2017, when the surviving members staged a tribute concert in Los Angeles to Bennington . The band has not officially announced whether it intends to carry on following the death of Bennington , who committed suicide in July 2017 at the age of 41.

Four years ago, Shinoda shot down reports that LINKIN PARK was actively searching for a replacement for Bennington . In February 2019, Shinoda took to his Twitter account to write: "Lemme clarify a rumor: we are not looking for a new singer, and if it were to happen organically, I'd be open. Seems pretty clear, yet I guess some folks have a hard time understanding.

"I'm not into predicting the future. The future will happen."

Shinoda made his comments in an apparent response to how the media covered an interview he gave to Rock Antenne . When asked about the possibility of finding a new singer, Shinoda said: "That's not my goal right now. I think it has to happen naturally. And if we find somebody that's a great person that we think is a good personality fit and a good stylistic fit, then I could see trying to do some stuff with somebody... I wouldn't wanna ever feel like we were replacing Chester ."

Shinoda added: "I know the other guys, they love to get onstage, they love to be in the studio, and so to not do that would be — I don't know — almost unhealthy. If doing that means that we need to have some other people in the mix in order to do it and do it well, then we would do that... But, like I said before, it has to happen naturally. I'm not running out and putting up 'vocalist wanted' posters."

Bennington 's passing was ruled a suicide soon after his body was found in July 2017 at his home in Palos Verdes Estates, California.

Chester had been candid about mental-health battles in numerous interviews over the years, saying he grappled with depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts and substance abuse. His struggles with drugs and alcohol landed him in rehab twice around 2006.

LINKIN PARK released a concert album titled "One More Light Live" in December 2017.

Linkin Park reunion tour in 2025?

The band is reportedly looking for a new female vocalist after the passing of Chester Bennington in 2017.

linkin park reunion tour

Linkin Park, one of the most influential rock bands of the 2000s, could be plotting a comeback.

Sources close to the band tell Billboard that members Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, and Dave Farrell are considering a reunion tour in 2025.

The band is reportedly seeking a female vocalist to fill the void left by the tragic passing of Chester Bennington in 2017.

Booking agency WME is apparently fielding offers for a potential tour and headline spots at major festivals.

However, Linkin Park hasn't made any official announcements about who will take on vocal duties.

Rumors of a female vocalist first surfaced when Orgy's Jay Gordon made a statement about the possible reunion (though he later retracted it).

Evanescence frontwoman Amy Lee also addressed the possibility, expressing interest but noting she hadn't been approached by the band.

Many fans of the nu-metal genre draw comparisons between Evanescence and Linkin Park, citing similar elements a blend of rock and alternative influences. Some of them have also dubbed Evanescence as the "female version" of Linkin Park on social media.

Mike Shinoda has been characteristically vague about the possibility of a reunion, simply stating that an official announcement will come from LinkinPark.com if and when there's news to share.

Linkin Park remains a giant of the 2000s rock era. They boast millions of album sales, numerous Billboard Hot 100 hits, and a devoted global fanbase. Anticipation is already building for their possible return to the stage.

Is Amy Lee Replacing Chester Bennington in Linkin Park?

Evanescence singer Amy Lee says rumors are unture that she's replacing Chester Bennington in Linkin Park.

By Stephen Andrew - May 6, 2024 05:29 pm EDT

It's been nearly seven years since Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington died, and now rumors have been swirling that the band might be coming back with Evanescence singer Amy Lee taking over as lead singer. However, these rumors seem to be just hearsay, as the short answer is, no, this is not happening.

It all started, according to Metro UK , when Jay Gordon, frontman for nu-metal/industrial rockers Orgy made some comments during an interview. "It's going to be tough without Chester Bennington, but we'll see. I hear they got a girl singer now. That's what I heard," Gordon said during an appearance on the  Wired in the Empire  radio show.

"Don't quote me on that. I'm not sure who the singer is going to be, but I heard it was gonna be female," he continued. "They might just try to move on like that. That ought to be interesting."

Gordon's comments got fans buzzing with speculation and eventually a rumor emerged that it was Lee who would be stepping in to handle lead vocals for Linkin Park. This led to Gordon clarifying his statements in a Facebook post. "With regards to this Linkin Park singer thing. I know nothing about any of that," he said.

"People sure do love to take my words out of context. I love those guys and wish them the best," Gordon added. "Wow I was like what in the actual f—? I said nothing about knowing any of that and never brought it up. I love Chester and there will never be another him ever."

Eventually, Lee was asked about the rumors, and she very clearly stated that there are currently no plans for her to team up with Linkin Park. "That is an incredible compliment. I have not heard that. No, I have not been contacted or anything like that," she said during an interview with Canada's iHeart Radio. "But [I'm a] huge fan; feel like our worlds, our fanbases are a lot of the same people."

Offering some background on how the two bands are connected, Lee said, "That's really sweet...I don't know if ( Evanescence and Linkin Park) were on a festival together or whatever. We met. We were in the studio at the same time. When we were making "Fallen," I just briefly got to have a conversation or two with Chester. He was really sweet."

Lee then very directly stated, "But no, it's not true. But that's awesome. They should ask me about that. I don't have a ton of free time , but I might do it part time."
