Fantastic holiday experience

This is our second trip with Parry’s and we can’t recommend it enough. Firstly the coaches are first class, with onboard services that make your journey so enjoyable. The drivers are excellent and make the journey Providing excellent service. The trips are there to be enjoyed and again help to make your holiday memorable. Whilst we have only done the Lochs and Glens tour twice we would have no question in recommending this company and will be definitely doing other tours with them.

Went on only fools and 3 courses weekend with them brilliant stay good information all the time great fun lovely time in Norwich and Cambridge was told what to see would recommend

Absolutely fantastic, traveled with friends and had a great time , our courier Linda and Driver Adrian were a credit to the company negotiating some very awkward situations with the French Protestors in the centre of Paris. Hotel was very nice, however the drinks are very expensive,but they are virtually anywhere in and around Paris.The trip that was organised to a bistro was good value and a great night was had by all.

Great value for money the coaches are very comfy and have always found the staff very helpful , the mystery trips are a great taster

Thank you to Linda and Adrian who were brilliant on our first Parry's holiday at the Florida Park Hotel. The good humour of all concerned was appreciated in the face of French strikers hell bent on delaying our long journey down to Spain. After using other travel companies, we are most impressed with Parry's coaches and wish we lived near enough to travel with you more often. It was just very unfortunate that a number of us developed a nasty virus while we there possibly contracted through the hotel air conditioning. The hotel management of the situation could have been more understanding. i.e. Medical aid and advice should have been more readily available and antiseptic hand gel should have been ready at the dining room door as on all cruise ships. (We took our own supply.) The impression was that they were too busy as it was Christmas so we had to manage as best we could. The buffet style meals were rather a shambles but the food was good. However, on our coach, we would like to thank courier Linda and driver Adrian who were excellent in every respect. Linda was there with her bottle of hand gel and she kept everything (and everyone) scrupulously clean in order to prevent the infection from further spread. Despite the long hours of driving, Adrian's comments and humour were greatly enjoyed. Thank you all.

A little bit annoyed with the service i got yesterday from Parry's. I purchased a day trip for my parents for their xmas present to Windsor for today at the time of booking i made the girl aware that my mom had cancer & that i may need to move the date if she was having her chemo treatment, i was told that, that wouldn't be a problem. Called them to do this yesterday & was told that i couldn't do this. I couldn't transfer my money to another trip so i've lost £130. Thank you for your sympathy & help Parry's.

This is a superb coach tour company. Great coaches with good staff to run them. I have been on several holidays including Austria and Paris and found them to be excellent value using top hotels. I would recommend them and would use them again.

We have just (May 2010) returned from Parrys 'Cornish Riviara' holiday and whilst the coach was very comfortable and the driver excellent, The Cliff Head Hotel at Carlyon Bay used by the company is one of the worst hotels we've ever stayed in. Poor service, stale or overcooked food, no hot water from bathroom sink tap which despite our requests was not rectified, brown unuseable water from bath tap, no hot water on arrival..............the list goes on. There was no evening entertainment provided and the hotel is rather 'remote' from any facilites and not in a good position for the elderly if they wish to walk to the sea front. There is a swimming pool but this was not available for some reason. Very early start to the return journey with no real stop for a lunch so not at all relaxing. I suspect Parrys like the coaches back mid-afternoon on Friday so that they can turn them around for the weekend trips. We've heard a lot of good things about this company but I have to say we'd be reluctant to travel with them again. For the price, poor value.

DO NOT TRAVEL WITH THIS COMPANY!!!! I have just returned from a weekend theatre break to London. We stayed in the Cheshunt Marriot Hotel and went to see Ghost the Musical. The hotel and the show were brilliant and it would have been a perfect relaxing break if we had not travelled with Parrys International! The service we received from this coach company was appalling. The driver (Tom) made us feel very unwelcome from the moment we stepped onto the coach claiming that we were late arriving (we certainly were not!) and that we were being too rowdy!! We were a group of 15 adults on a mums and daughters weekend. Yes, we were high spirited but I am under the impression that many groups would be after looking forward to the trip for almost a year! An hour into our travels we stopped at the services. It was at this point that the driver (after waiting for the rest of the coach to depart) announced over the microphone that he would be terminating our holiday if we continued to be rowdy!! After hearing this we were obviously upset (after spending £200 each for the holiday) and he then went on and accused us of bringing our own alcohol onto the coach! It came apparent that his wife (who acted as what I can only describe as a stewardess on the coach) had gone to him and told him that we were drinking our own alcohol and being rude (this is the same woman who had been serving us and taking our money for the past hour!!) How she came to this conclusion is still beyond me as it was a total lie and was obviously winding the driver up! After this it reduced all 15 of us to complete silence making us feel that we could not speak too loudly or enjoy the remaining two hours of our journey in anyway. During this time we also had to sit and watch a 'safety video' and ordered not to use our phone!!! I am still amazed that were told that we not allowed to use our phone!! It was like being on a school trip with very strict teachers! Luckily we were able to enjoy the rest of the weekend. Unfortunately this was short lived! When we were dropped off in London on our last day we were under strict instruction to be back on the coach a 1:45. As a group we all agreed to be back at 1:30 so not to get a repeat 'telling off'. Unfortunately one of our group members got stuck the other side of London so did not get back to the coach at 1:30. We were obviously very worried about her as we could not reach her on her mobile and had no idea where she was. At 1:40 (5 minutes before the 'deadline') the coach driver got on the microphone again and announced he would be leaving in 10 minutes regardless of if our friend was back or not. This upset her mother who was very worried about her daughter. She offered to leave the coach and get the train home to Walsall. At this point the driver walked over to us, pointed his finger at us all and said he was fed up of us all being 'rude' and that he had been recording us all on CCTV all weekend and knew exactly what we have all been saying word for word 'so don't bother complaining!'. I still have no idea what he means by this as we had been on our best behaviour all weekend!! Plus since when have we lived in a country where freedom of speech was not aloud and we can be threatened with CCTV!!! Also, correct me if I am wrong, but is it not illegal to record people without telling them first or putting signs up?! My friend arrived onto the coach at 1:48 3 minutes late and apologised to all the other passengers (who as it turns out are all regular customers and friends of the coach driver and his wife) and she was greeted by rude comments and scowls demanding that she apologise to the driver! My friend cried all the way home! I hope they caught that on CCTV! Once we got to the services some of us refused to get back onto the coach and arranged lifts from relatives. DO NOT TRAVEL WITH THIS COMPANY!!! They are rude, inconsiderate and have no idea what is meant by customer service! We are all professional people who work hard to pay for our holidays. We do not deserve to be treated like unruly children!

Having had so many positive comments about this tour operator I was really looking forward to a fabulous time in Paris, Be warned taken from their brochure (Our Guided Tour includes many famous sights including the Champs Élysées, the Arc de Triomphe, Opera Garnier and a walk to the Sacré-Coeur at Montmartre). This is very miss leading as they only actually drive past these famous sites, what you pay for is a Coach and the driver whose limited knowledge of these sites is mumbled into the microphone. The limited time allowed to actually go and see these sites meant you didn't. I suppose the extremely long journey of 11 + hours without any entertainment until the last 2 hours coupled with typical English weather did not get the weekend off to a good start. If it was not for the great company in a fabulous City the weekend would have been a disaster. I for one will take the Plane next time and use Taxi or Metro and a guide book. Parry's sorry you let me down.

Holiday traffic cannot be avoided around Paris and you travelled on the only Coach in the UK with In-Seat Entertainment! In fact a luxury Brand new Coach with 2 Crew and voted Best Coach in the UK! It is only possible to stop and park in designated parts of Paris - By Law. We should know as we have done Paris Tours for 40 Years and your Driver did know quite a lot about Paris - That's how you had such a comprehensive tour by Day and Night. 3 Nights Hilton Hotel and much more for less than £200!! - Fantastic Value and Quality

Disappointing evening meals

My friend and I travelled to Newcastle for the tour which included Durham. in September. Hotel was okay and friendly. Great if you want to attend the Football.. Very surprised to have to choose our food for the following 4 nights before being allowed to get off the coach. Consequentially the evening meals were terrible. One evening the food was cold and sent back. Fruit salad on a plate? Asked the Manager for Ice cream to go with it and was kindly given it. The Hotel Menu but all the good ingredients taken out!! This was our second trip with Parrys. Thought it could only get better. How wrong we were. We paid for the proper Menu the last two evenings. We would not go again unless we got a discount and allowed to pay for our own meals and have dinner when we wanted it.

We went on the Christmas at Beamish trip as 3 sisters and our elderly mother. Tom and Louise our driver and hostess were excellent. They were very attentive and both worked very hard to ensure everyone enjoyed their trip . They were very caring towards our mother , helping her on and off the coach and ensuring her wheelchair was always ready and waiting for her . The coach was luxurious with drinks and a good variety of films available. The only problem with this trip is that it was a whistle stop tour ! There was just too much crammed into the Friday till Sunday break . It took over 2 hours to pick up in the area before we even started the journey to Sunderland . Tom did apologise for this , however we have been on a previous trip where this was also the case . Maybe less pick up points are needed. This trip is titled Christmas at Beamish’ but we were only there 3 and a half hours . We arrived mid morning and had to leave at 13.30 prompt. The area is huge and although there are trolley buses around the site , this is just not enough time and we only saw half . We would have liked to have spent all day there even if the trip cost more . There were some nice looking cafes which we would liked to have eaten in . We then went to Durham for a few hours , again not enough time to explore and eat lunch as very busy so it was a greggs takeaway . Not much to see here so a few hours were plenty . We then went back to the Hilton hotel right by the stadium of light football ground . The hotel was lovely , great rooms, great staff . The evening meal which was ok, nothing special but was served at 6 pm ! Much too early with nothing to do all evening . The next day we were going to York Christmas market which we were all looking forward to but again we only had a few hours and felt extremely rushed .30 minutes walk there and back to the coach leaving even less time . Again it was a greggs for lunch . The coach journey back took so long however it was comfortable and we were well looked after . To summarise, there is just too much crammed into this trip . Spend a whole day at Beamish and forget Durham. Leave York later which would also miss some of the traffic. We did enjoy our trip but it could have been oh do much better .

Parry’s coaches were organised, the driver Neil worked hard to make sure we had a great holiday in Bournemouth.

We booked the Italian Highlights tour at a cost of nearly £5000 to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary and I have to say it was a huge disappointment, this was made even more disappointing by the response received via the management. We set off at 5:00 am full of hope and anticipation of a great holiday. Things started to go wrong from the start, no comfort break between the pick up and arriving at Dover for our ferry crossing. We then travelled to our overnight hotel in Germany sadly we arrived to late for an evening meal which was stated on the trip details as possible. We then travelled to St Anton in Austria for an overnight stay which was okay. Set off the next day to arrive in Italy to begin our tour, then things didn’t go as planned. Some very good highlights but marred by the fact that we didn’t actually do all items on the itinerary and a few disappointments around some of the hotels and the standard of the food. The main let downs were the fact that the Pompeii trip was cancelled without prior warning, the promised Trevi Fountain and Milan visit never happened then to cap it off the Paris Bistro meal was cut short because the courier didn’t like the noisy crowd in the room below us, who I have to say were polite enough when we had to pass them to vacate the building. The courier on the whole did a good job but the driver was sometimes very rude and stressed a lot of the time. He stated that we couldn’t use our mobiles on the coach but it was okay for them to use their phone as they pleased, since found out this is not company policy. Helpful pre booking support the trip to Austria was all delivered to a very high standard and delivered excellence as promised. Luxury coach and knowledgeable crew made this holiday one to be remembered and repeated . The hotel in Strobel was lovely very traditional quality rooms well appointed with views to surrounding mountains. Restaurant great food and service well delivered. The lake and water sports 5 minutes walk away

Excellent Royal London trip! Visit’s to Houses of Parliament, Buckingham palace and Kew Gardens and as always a great Marriott hotel. Good value trip with plenty to see in London. Coach was as ever spotless and Neil and Haley excellent hosts!

Parrys International to celebrate 50 years with London weekend

Parrys International will mark 50 years in the coach industry with a two-night celebration for 250 customers and invited guests in London on 3-4 November.

The Walsall-based tour operator says the weekend will represent the last event with Dave Parry – founder and Managing Director since 1973 – at the helm as management changes are mooted.

Guests will be attend a gala dinner on the Friday night at London Heathrow Marriott Hotel with champagne reception and entertainment, which will include Brendan Sheerin from TV series Coach Trip, actress Claire Sweeney,  a live band and resident DJ.

The weekend will also include a “unique presentation” of the 50 years and a Thames River Cruise including lunch on the Saturday.

The business started as as Speedway Coaches and is now best known for high-specification coaches and its own UK and overseas tour programme.

Mr Parry had considered selling the business in 2013 but at the operator’s 45th anniversary event , he committed to five more years. Parrys International now confirms it is committed to continuing in 2024 and beyond but possibly under a switch of management in the coming months.
