PGA Tour Superstore Opens New Experiential Golf Retail Destination In Sugarloaf Area; September 19 Grand Opening Includes $25,000 In Giveaways

ATLANTA, GA (September 15, 2015) – PGA TOUR Superstore is updating its presence in Atlanta by moving its Duluth superstore further north into Lawrenceville. A grand opening celebration will take place on September 19. Conveniently located right off of I-85 and Duluth Highway just south of Sugarloaf Parkway, the new store will offer all of the latest experiential golf features including high-tech simulators, interactive practice bays and a large putting green.

The September 19 grand opening celebration will include $25,000 in product giveaways to the first customers in line starting at 9 a.m.

“Sugarloaf represents an exciting move for us. It offers a great location and easier accessibility for customers than our Duluth store, and it has all of the latest bells and whistles featured in our new stores,” said PGA TOUR Superstore President and CEO Dick Sullivan. “Locally, PGA TOUR Superstore is recognized as the retail authority for golfers who want to shop like the pros and have access to all things golf. Our professional expertise and interactive environment inspires all types of golfers – from beginners to scratch golfers – to play the game and find everything they need under one roof. And Atlanta’s very active tennis community knows that our huge tennis assortment, array of services and associates are the best in town.”

PGA TOUR Superstore also recently opened stores in North Scottsdale, Ariz.; Southlake, Texas; Orlando, Fla.; and Birmingham, Ala. The new Sugarloaf store joins PGA TOUR Superstores in Kennesaw and Roswell in serving the metro Atlanta area. PGA TOUR Superstore currently operates 23 stores across the country.

The PGA TOUR Superstore in Sugarloaf will employ more than 40 associates including PGA teaching professionals; have multiple state-of-the-art swing simulators, practice hitting bays, and a large putting green; and offer in-house club making and repairs to provide a unique, interactive experience to golf enthusiasts of all levels. The new Sugarloaf store experience includes:

• Certified golf pros and personalized golf lessons

• Six swing simulators for lessons and custom club fittings

• Four performance practice bays with swing analysis

• A 1,000 square foot putting green

• Golf apparel, shoes and equipment from brands including adidas, Bridgestone, Callaway, Cleveland-Srixon, Cobra-PUMA, ECCO, FootJoy, Mizuno, NIKE, PGA TOUR, PING, TaylorMade, Titleist and Under Armour

PGA TOUR Superstore is owned and operated by Golf & Tennis Pro Shop, Inc., whose controlling owner and chairman is Arthur M. Blank, retired co-founder of The Home Depot and owner of the Atlanta Falcons and Atlanta United, a new Major League Soccer team.

Pga tour superstore will open giant golf store in minnetonka in the spring.

As winter keeps Minnesota golfers waiting to step out onto the fairway, PGA Tour Superstore, a small chain of huge golf stores, said Friday it should have a new store open in Minnetonka just when they can head out to the course again.

The store, at 41,000 square feet, will be larger than a typical Best Buy, offer 12 interactive simulators and hitting bays as well as a putting green that is 1,500 square feet in size.

It will be the largest dedicated golf store in the Twin Cities and 26th in the PGA Tour Superstore chain, which is owned by Arthur Blank, a co-founder of Home Depot and owner of the Atlanta Falcons.

The store will occupy a space on 12380 Wayzata Blvd. that was formerly the site of a Sports Authority store.

"This is an incredible market for golf, and we believe the area is underserved for golf retail," Dick Sullivan, president of PGA Tour Superstore, said in a statement.

The store arrives in the Twin Cities a few months before the 41st Ryder Cup tournament, one of the largest events in professional golf, which will be played at Hazeltine National Golf Club in Chaska in September.

"We are excited to bring the best experiential destination in golf retail to Twin Cities golfers during what is sure to be a banner golf season highlighted by the Ryder Cup," Sullivan said in the statement.

The PGA Tour Superstore outlet is the second mega-outlet dedicated to a single sport to arrive on the Twin Cities retail scene in recent months.

Bauer Hockey, the nation's largest maker of hockey equipment, in November opened a 24,000-square-foot superstore called Own the Moment in Bloomington. At the center of that store is a rink with real ice for shoppers to test equipment.
