After reading so many horrible reviews I had to leave one. I take the Safeway casino shuttle bus from Toronto to Niagara Falls casino regularly and I think it's great. For only $8 I get driven there and back, I can sleep on the bus and I can charge my phone at my seat. I have never even had to share a seat with anyone. Every employee has been great and I think people just expect too much for pretty much nothing. Maybe lower your expectations and you won't be so disappointment - or drive yourself.

Wanted to get to Niagara without having to drive myself or bugging someone else for a lift so a friend said take the casino coach. Good idea right $30 for a return trip to Fallsview Casino. So I call them up and arrange a pick up from near where I live. Their website has a map which allows you to see where the closest pick up point is and also see the schedule which is actually quite regular. The telephone service was quick, arrange a reservation time and the only bad thing was getting a strict warning to "not be late" which I thought was not at all needed. So the next day the coach was on time, quickly boarded and off we went, with two more pick ups on the way. The coach itself was nice, and with the hot weather we been having it was nice that the coach was cool. My only bad point of the coach was the silly idea of playing a movie when it would never finish in the time it takes to get to Niagra. They would be better off playing some sports or in my case an instruction video on how to gamble properly! On arrival to Fall view Casino the lady on the coach asked if I wanted to sign up for the PAC card, this basically means that any time I wish to return it will only cost me $5 return to take the same coach journey! Bargain basement! Only catch is you do have to spend sometime in the casino losing money lol; which is what I went ahead and did. Overall it is a good service they provide, very regular from early morning pickups to late. They do when you arrive give you a time to return, and since they want to keep you at the casino really long the return time might be too late. You can however request an earlier coach which is what i did by three hours. Your free to go check out the falls and anything else in Niagara, but once you got that PAC card make sure you take sometime to use it on the machines or at the tables in the casino. Even after losing a couple of hundred bills to the slots and roulette they didn't check mine on return. Will probably go again once I have practise my poker face in the mirror or banged my head to become autistic.

I was impressed with Safeway compared to its competitor Taipan Tour. The bus was very comfortable. The tour guide told us that they removed an entire row from the bus so customers can have more leg rooms. The bus was chartered from MegaBus so it had onboard Wifi both in Canada and in the USA and also had power outlet in every seat. Our bus initially had some WIFI issue and the tour guide was telling the customers that we might be switching to another bus because of it. This was very unexpected from a Chinese company and it's good service. The tour guide was very professional.....a bit too much talking. Talked about every city that we pass by. As always with these Chinese tour, it's always "see as much in as little amount of time as possible". We visited 4 cities in 4 days and it felt very rushed. Also, the price is unbeatable. We stayed at Hilton hotels for 3 nights(of course not prime location), but it's very comfortable.

I placed a reservation on the phone to go to the Casino in Nigara Falls, for myself (Member) and 3 non members visiting from France, I was told that for the non members the fee was $30 per person, which was fine, I supposed to depart from Toronto, China town, when I arrived, I was told the bus was already full, I was confused as I placed the reservation in advance, provided my name and left my cell just in case, they had no explanation and were very rude, I called the same number where I placed the reservation, they told me that because it was a long weekend blah blah blah, then when I asked about why they didn't use a reservation sheet to let people get in the bus, "Sally" hanged up on me. bottom line, terrible service, non existent customer care, if you try them, just be prepared , you might not even be able to go

Photo of David L.

Ridiculous customer service with horrible internal work processes. Trip got cancelled and allocated to another without notice. We have to call them to ask or else we wouldn't have known. On the day of, there were 3 buses total and 2 of them were taking the same route. There were 8 of us but none of our names are on any of the tour guide's attendance list. We had to wait till the very end to find out which bus is ours. Luckily, there was a bus with exactly 8 spots vacant. The tour guide decided to let us board assuming the seats are reserved for us. What if someone unknown got their dates mixed up and wanted to board as well? Then only 7 or less of us would board and the rest will go home? When we got back, we went back to the agency and the customer service people at the count didn't seem to care much. They promised that the person in charge of this incident will call us back (of course they didn't). The explanation at the time was that someone forgot to put all of our 8 names onto the attendance list but indeed we have out spots reserved. How does that concern us? Why do we care? It's your mistake! It's not the matter of reservation when we clearly paid and booked, its the matter of sorting this out or lack of. Why do we have to wait till the very end to board? Why do we have to feel so left out for their mistakes? Why didn't the tour guides do something about it? It's 7am and the weather is not ideal to wait outside for anyone. NEVER BOOK WITH THIS AGENCY. THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU AND THEY KNOW THERE ARE MORE PEOPLE OUT THERE THEY CAN SCAM.

Been taking ST for a couple years to head to Niagara. They excel at most but are mediocre at others. Guess if you use them on off times you get treated well, get good service. They are always on time, get to destination within reasonable time most of the time. Can't blame them due to traffic. Generally the staff is nice. But if you try to use them on Holiday/Long weekends Look Out. They can get pretty inconsiderate, irritable and just downright abusive. So be forewarned, come up with something else to do then go to the casino on long weekends you'll be happier that way.

Photo of David John G.

I took the Safeway bus to Fallsview Casino one time to give it a try. I called to reserve 2 seats for a friend and I just before 8am for the 10:30am bus. The lady said ok, and asked we be there 10 minutes before departure. When we got to the bus stop, the hosts asked for my name, looked on her sheet, and said I didn't reserve a seat. She later called head office to check, and indeed I did book 2 seats, but the lady on the phone didn't pass along the info. The hosts were very strict with other people as well, since they didn't book a seat, however the hosts let her on. After the 4 stops the bus made, the bus was packed right to the back. They played a Disney movie for the trip too! When we arrived at the casino, the lady swiped our PAC cards and gave us 1 point towards cash back. Overall the bus service is a nice connivence. $5 is really cheap. There are outlets to charge your phone if you'd like. A recommendation I would give is reserve your seats a good 3-4 hours in advance, even the day before if you can. The bus is usually full going down in the early mornings to mid-afternoons, but the return trip is not so busy.

I was just nearly killed by Safeway Tours bus #6501 as it swerved into an occupied lane rather than slow to avoid a bicycle in its lane. I have seen so many examples of horrible driving by Safeway, both on city streets and highways, that you couldn't get me on one of their buses. This particular bus couldn't seem to use its brakes to slow, but preferred to swerve from lane to lane regardless of vehicles in those lanes. Dangerous. I searched for a way to contact Safeway to let them know about this incident, but their only contact is a reservation line that isn't able to take complaints. One would think that a tour bus company would be concerned about safety, but apparently not.

Photo of Ray M.

Safeway tour bus just backed into another bus here in Quebec. Tour guide is no good, like she had never run a tour before. Bus tours are fine with me, but this is the worst one I've been on.

Photo of Daryl H.

Safeway Tour buses illegally park, stand, block street cars, and idle every single day in our neighbourhood. Worst of all, they do it in front of a long term care hospital and a children's hospice. Yes, a children's hospice. Even with no passengers on board, and the bus driver smoking outside they illegally idle their loud, stinky diesel buses for 10-20 minutes at a time. They believe they are above all laws and human decency, avoid Safeway at all costs.

I took the May 6, 2014 one-day trip to Fallsview Casino and boarded the bus at Bamburgh Circle (back of McDonald's) at around 12:45 pm. There were 2 girls who were inspecting our Player's cards and collecting the bus fares. One was being trained I believe. I paid for my fare and showed them my Player's card but didn't give me any boarding pass. How in the world am I supposed to get back to Scarborough without my boarding pass. I waited for a while during the entire bus trip to Niagara Falls thinking maybe they would hand them out to everyone at the same time. Upon reaching Fallsview, Niagara, I asked the guy behind me if we are supposed to get tickets to get back on the bus at 9 p.m. and he said yes. So upon alighting off the bus, I felt kind of annoyed at Safeway Tours' staff incompetence. It's so easy for them to ask for money for bus fares but just took of without handing me my boarding pass. I asked the staff who is supposedly the Trainor where my boarding pass is I didn't get any and she asked the one being trained to get her her clipboard. I asked her why I didn't get any when all the others got theirs and how am I supposed to go back to Scarborough and what if I don't have any idea at all that passengers are supposed to get boarding passes. She said it's okay 'coz they would be able to check on the information w/c is supposedly kept on their swipe machines. I asked, so it doesn't matter whether you have a boarding pass or not? She said, it is best that you have a boarding pass. Wow! This is kind of disappointing and annoying. There are 2 of them working asking for everyione's Player's card and bus fares but none of their brains were actually working.

I am planning to go Newfoundland and Labrador in late August2014 and I don't want to take any of those Chinese-owned Taipan Tours nor Safeway Tours trips anymore. I read people's feedbacks here on those trips that they speak English for 5 mins. and Chinese for 20 mins (same thing happened on Fallsview bus trips) and you spend more time on their buses than on those great places. I am looking for non-Chinese owned travel agencies that doesn't cancel at the last minute and doesn't call you if they cancel.

Thank you very much Safeway Tours and Team for such a lovely services and a trip. It was a great trip - We took a four-days USA trip including Boston, NY, Philadelphia and Washington DC. - From Dec 26 to Dec 29. One can board the bus from various locations around the GTA. So it is really very convenient, based on where you stay. The overall journey was absolutely amazing and so punctual at every single stop. A very very special credit goes to Gary, Our tour guide and Barry, Our driver. Gary was so good at providing guided tour for every location including history, culture, foods etc. He was extremely co-operative and managing all the activities simultaneously with great ease and always smiling. Barry is also very very co-operative and smiling all the time. Again thank you very much to both Gary and Barry for an amazing trip full of many lovely memories. A very special shout out to our group in the bus. It was a thrilling experience and energy throughout the trip. Extremely professional team and brilliantly executed the whole trip considering every little detail. Border crossing was very smooth, also with great guidance from Gary for any questions from the visa officers at the office, taking regular intervals throughout the trip, excellent locations for food options. We have stayed at extremely good hotels for every single location. And I forgot to tell you the most important point of the whole experience - The bus was brand new, and driver was so good, the whole journey was so relaxing and pleasing with a great weather (as a bonus) and very nice scenic views everywhere. Also the price for the trip is very very reasonable, with the type of services and hotels we have enjoyed. I will cherish these experiences and memories forever! Highly highly recommended, without any doubt. Again Thank you very much Safeway Tours for such a lovely, homely and family-friendly experience. Looking forward to our next adventure with you. All the best wishes. Lots of love, grateful and thankful!!

I don't usually write reviews but this company deserves my time, I recently went to a concert at Fallsview Casino, but don't want to drive the 3+ hour round trip, and pay a hefty parking fee. So a friend recommended that I take "Safeway Tours" Buses. I called their Office to book 4 person and which day and time. Their office staff was very friendly, professional, and courtesy. They made all recommendation to take which time of bus I should take so I won't miss or be late for my concert, and which bus to take back. On the day of the concert, I arrived on time, parked my car at their designated area, and didn't have to wait long before we were greeted and sat comfortable on their bus. The seats were CLEAN, comfortable, and the tour guide was pleasant explaining the process to us. They had WIFI on their bus, charging ports to charge up my phone for the concert, and the ride was smooth and safe. Returning after the concert was effortless, I lined up, climbed on the bus plugged in my phone to charge, took a nap and we were back to where we parked our car. The experience was excellent, I skipped the stress of driving, and the fee was very reasonable, with promo chips from the Casino. I would definitely recommend anyone planning a night of fun or a weekend getaway to use their service. On my next event at the Falls, I would definitely use Safeway Tours again.

I went from holiday Inn I think on college street too Niagara Fall. You reserve a seat on the bus with Safeway tours for the scheduled return trip which requires $45 and gives you $40 free play credit when you arrive at casino. I turned my free play $40 into actual pay of $29 which is not really great but hey your paying too xome too the wonder of the world Niagara Falls. I learned that if you leave the casino too take a break in the halls and check out the shops when you come back too casino the machines may turn rogue on you and not win anything quickly taking back the $29 I cashed out with. They should look into a seating area for casino trip people only because as I was approaching the bus somebody yelled at me do I think I am better than them which was a little intimidating.

Photo of Cap R.

Raised fare to Fallsview again. Used to be well organized with competent hosts who called names of those who reserved seats. Hope they get better soon.

Photo of LS S.

This company deserves less than one star. Yet again they have raised their price to $50 in just a few weeks since raising it to $45. But, people are smart. Already a noticeable difference in the buses. Way less passengers than before.

You've done it again haven't you Safeway? In less than, what, two months you've once again raised the fee to ride your bus to $45.00! Enough is enough. People are pissed. You've got drivers that are rude, drive excessive speed, cut traffic off. You've got representatives who CLEARLY favour their own countrymen and women and who get rude and loud with others when they mistakenly sit in the "high class" front seats... only to allow their fellow countrymen/women to sit there with regular low level cards. And now you want us to pay $45.00 for all this crappy service? Without increasing the cash back once at the casino. No. Just no. Keep your crappy service, your dangerous drivers. No.

Photo of Melissa C.

Reserved my spot on the bus days ago over the phone, waited at the Richmond hill location outside of Tim Hortons on red maple road (as per their instructions) bus drove by 3 people and as we chased the bus, it drove off. Called the operator and nothing was done and essentially just told us we were in the wrong spot. What a waste of time and essentially served no purpose of me giving my details to her to "reserve" a spot

How can someone get from just about anywhere in the GTA over to Fallsview Casino Niagara and then back again for the total cost of about dozen donuts? Well, you can take a $10 return trip on a Safeway Tours Casino coach from numerous GTA locations to/from Fallsview. No need to worry about driving. The only requirement is a PAC (Players Advantage Card) in advance. Is this is your first time/trip? No problem. It will just cost a little extra the first time as per these rules: Casino bus schedule effective Jan 16, 2019. First 5 rows on the bus are $45 per seat each way. Fees for Elite, Premium, Platinum cardholders can be waived. The bus fare for regular Players Advantage Club (PAC) members is $10 each person and free of charge for Elite, Premium, Platinum or Gold card holders. For guests without a PAC card, $30 (non-refundable) bus fare applies. Participants must be over 19 years of age, and a valid government-issued photo ID is required upon boarding buses bound to the casino. The staff on the bus are professional and courteous. Enjoy your return trip!

Very racist company, sorry but there's no nice way to dress my opening statement up to make it more palatable. They show preferential treatment to Asians (Asians of the world -I love you, this is nothing against you!). Don't take my word alone on this, there's many other reviews online with similar accusations. I've taken the Fallsview bus many times, it's never a quality experience but that's usually down to disruptive or inconsiderate passengers. On my latest trip home tonight, the bus detoured due to the Gardiner Expressway closure this weekend. As a result of the detour, the bus literally passed my home but that's okay because I know the rules -no unscheduled stops, right? Apparently I was wrong, because a few minutes later the driver stopped and let several passengers off at an unscheduled stop. Naturally, I asked the driver "why didn't you tell us if you were making stops? I could have stopped right by my house" then what followed was like a bad Monty Python sketch -as people passed between us to get off at the unscheduled stop, he said "no unscheduled stops" -Then what the heck are we doing right now, then? So, to summarize, screw Safeway Tours, you once again showed your true colours tonight. The sooner you lose the Fallsview contract, the better.

We have currently used this bus Sept. 3rd at night going to Highway 7 and Yonge. On the way back we got stuck in the highway side road, because something leaking from the engine, that's what the driver announced after 15mins of our stop in the dark, without lights, YA RIGHT!!?? Well maybe to be cautious, safety should ALWAYS be prior to departure , not after , half way!! Absolutely ridiculous!! We left at 8pm reached to highway 7 Redmaple at 11pm.!!!???? ONE HOUR waiting on side road of the highway with AC OFF, Lights switching on/Off, bathroom lights were off, they left the emergency windows open because some of us were getting claustrophobic with NO Air inside the bus. The bus driver would not open the door!! OMG!! Are you kidding me! There were mainly seniors on the bus. The agent was so RUDE, disrespectful, she had a MAJOR Attitude!!?? She did not apologize or anything!!?? First she said we 'll be waiting 40mins then it was for WHOLE HOUR!!!?? We want our money back!! I don't think we'll be back!! Not worthed!!!!!!!!

Pretty solid for casino coach. Book a day earlier but sometimes they take same day booking too. Be sure to have a PAC card it's $10 round trip with it if you don't have it costs $25 for the round trip when leaving bus they issue you a return ticket which is valid for 48 hours. Change the times at the in house Safeway booth in fallsview. The service was fast and easy I would say on return be sure your there early it's a madhouse there with everyone trying to get back be flexible the downtown bus is usually empty!!
