Best and beautiful tour

I hiked the Mantanuska Glacier this March with the Salmon Berry tour group. The hike was fun and adding a bit ice tunnel sliding made me feel like a kid again. The leaders were knowledable, friendly, on time, and helpful. Having the equipment needed such as helmets, snow cleats made the hike easier, although I would have liked to have a pole as well. It was a bit hard to get around without one. At least there was always a helping hand when needed.

Awesome Alaska

I just returned to Georgia from a trip to Anchorage & a whale watching cruise booked by Salmonberrytours.com... The women who work at Salmonberry were professional & courteous. Glad to see women owing their own successful business's. the tours were spectacular!! My friend Rachel & I had a wonderful once in a life time experience with Salmonberry tours. Our guide & driver Larry was experienced, informed, friendly & most of all humorous!! What fun we had!! Loved my tour with Salmon Berry and…

Loved my tour with Salmon Berry and would definitely book with them again! I did a Northern Lights tour package with them that also included a dog sledding experience, the Alaska Railroad from Talkeetna to Fairbanks, day trip to the Arctic Circle, Chena Hot Springs, lodging, transportation, some included meals plus aurora hunting opportunities in warm lodges. What a great adventure and all went so smoothly as we transitioned from guides in Anchorage area to Fairbanks. Very well organized and the guides were so knowledgeable of the area and super friendly. The schedule was busy, but not enough to feel rushed as there was free time built in as well.

On our recent trip to Alaska

On our recent trip to Alaska, we were lucky to have two tours with Salmon Berry. One was with Sarah to the Musk Ox farm, and a wonderful dinner. She is a terrific tour guide, and a delight to be around! I would recommend this SB tour to anyone, and suggest they ask for her! The second tour was with John and it was from Seward to Anchorage. Again, wonderful personality, very knowledgeable, and truly an experience we will always remember. Well run company, good, clean equipment, awesome snacks! Without hesitation I would recommend this company!

Best tour company

We booked a last minute trip to Alaska and really wanted to do a Matanuska Glacier tour. I contacted Salmon Berry and Matanuska Glacier Adventures. Anna at Salmon Berry contacted me the next day and also helped me plan the rest of our trip. We added on an overnight tour in Talkeetna to see the aurora and a train ride from Talkeetna to Fairbanks. The glacier tour was incredible where we got to walk/crawl through an ice cave. Talkeetna is the cutest town and I definitely recommending staying at John Trapper’s Cabin. It is the cutest little cabin and you won’t have to share bathrooms with other guests back at the Roadhouse. We didn’t get to see the lights because it was too cloudy but awesome experience overall. Snowshoeing at night was fun. Thanks to our amazing guides Brandon and John!!!!!!! Salmon Berry customer service is top notch. On the contrary, Matanuska Glacier Adventures responded to my initial inquiry last night....

Ok, this tour was awesome. It exceeded my expectations. First of all, shout out to Robbie, our awesome guide. He’s been in Alaska for 25ish years. He can tell you history, restaurants, places to avoid, and even offers some free comedy. He even went the extra mile because the weather caused a road to close unexpectedly. I’m in Anchorage for work for a couple months. I needed a tour to show me what the surrounding areas have to offer, so I know what’s out there. This tour was just that! It provides a good feel for what’s available, the views are amazing, and it doesn’t hurt to have someone else drive along Seward highway. It’s so pretty, but you would need to pay attention if you’re driving it! If you hate heights, the Alyeska air tram won’t be your favorite. I, however, loved that part. Don’t fear, they have a tour without the Alyeska air tram. The Turnagain arm is worth seeing. I’ve heard the Wildlife reserve was “overrated”, but I whole heartedly disagree. I loved seeing all these animals you wouldn’t otherwise get close to (safely). This inspired me to keep exploring. Alaska is crazy beautiful, y’all. Thanks so much for inspiring me!

Though with not many reviews I wasn't sure what to expect when signing up for this tour. However, Sarah (I hope I remembered correctly) is a great guide and had us all prepared and ready to go for this hike.. to the bright edge of the world :) Open year-round, all the necessary gear is provided; just make sure you dress up real warm. You really have to be there to experience it all: the beauty the landscape has to offer, the sheer silence when you stop and hold your breath just a little longer--and it's the kind of silence that makes you feel like you're on top of the world, that you are one with the universe. Must have guided tour for this hike, highly recommend Salmon Berry Tours; truly is an experience of a lifetime.

Five stars fo Salmonberry Tours for this one! In all honesty, I had no idea what to expect. From the very start of the day to the end, the experience was outstanding. The team at the office was warm and helpful making sure we had the proper gear for our trip. Sara was our driver/narrator for the 2-hour ride up to Willow, and gave us an in-depth explanation of the Iditarod, as well as some of the history and facts of Alaska. She is a delightfully smart young lady. Lunch was provided at an establishment in Wasilla, and we could order from the delicious menu. The time spent at the sledding center was well organized, with a friendly and informative staff. Liz was our musher, and shared her passion and knowledge of dog sledding/racing during our unforgettable 5 mile sled journey. The landscape there is beautiful! Don’t hesitate your decision on doing this...it will be the highlight of your visit to Alaska.

No need to look further, choose Salmon Berry for your travel companion! I was super late in making decision to visit Alaska, lucky I got recommended to Salmon Berry and talked to Tony! The advice, choice and price is matched with our preferences (if money is not a problem), all of their hotels, tours and even Alyeska sky resort choices we can't complained. I recommend Salmon Berry without hesitation. Good luck, guys! Thanks so much, Tony, my son wanted to say thank you personally on our last day in Anchorage, but like usual, we run late to the airport. Next time we visit Alaska, we definitely using your service again, with more time to prepare...

Booked an all day tour and hike on the Matanuska Glacier. John was our guide. He picked us up at our hotel and picked up others at their hotels. John drove us out to the glacier and gave us a good description and history of the sites and locations along the way. The drive from Anchorage was about 2-2.5 hours. Once we made it to the parking lot John got everyone geared up with micro climbers on our shoes, walking sticks and helmets. Then safety instructions and out to the glacier. John gave us a guided tour with lots of good insights. He also mapped out the best path and helped us cross the wider gaps. We were on the glacier for about 2 hours. Truly amazing sights and sounds. Blue ice. Crevasses. Walls of ice. After the hike John took us to the Long Rifle Lodge for lunch. Included in the tour is an entree and drink. Then back to Anchorage. John was a great guide. He gave good history, good information, good suggestions for other things to do around Anchorage...oh and he was careful to look after the safety of his group which is a good thing for a glacier guide!

Chose the 2 hour city tour with Salmon Berry over the one hour trolley tour down town so we could really have in depth tour. It's not what we received. Our tour driver was right on time picking us up, was friendly and happy girl . All good things. Then it started. She drove a million miles an hour , instead of taking control of tour she let a lady on the bus take control with personal questions and we really didn't get much historical information, but heard about the drivers boy friend, her major in college, and the she had to keep looking things up on her phone like "what is the size of Anchorage"!!!!! If we would of known it was going to be like this we would of just gone on the Trolley tour where much more information is given and not so Lucy-goose. Our tour was not very in depth . There is so much history in Anchorage but not with Chloe at the wheel . Yes we were very disappointed.

An absolute MUST! This was by far one of the best experiences I had during my trip to Anchorage for five days. The guides are exceptional! Lou, Molly, and Evan were there that day and were awesome. Molly was our musher and she was fun, hilarious and so knowledgeable. She was so reassuring when I expressed nervousness about riding on the tow sled and she was right: it was a blast! This is a fantastic experience and one not to miss!

We did the dogsled tour up at Dallas Seavey's homestead. We were initially on a waitlist, because it was full. They called us the day of to let us know that they had opened up another tour that day. I am so glad they did! It was the self drive option to get up to the homestead in Willow but they gave us turn by turn directions (really it's not that many turns from Anchorage). The homestead is tucked a way back from the main road. They walked us around the adult dog yard and introduced us to some of the dogs including a few of the Iditarod race team. They let us hold a few of the puppies! Of course the highlight was actually riding on the sled. It was serene and beautiful out on the trail. The person who was our guide on the trail was great. I was able to ride on a training sled behind the main sled. They also let our 10 year old stand and ride on the main sled behind the dogs and taught him how to call out commands. Everyone working up there was very knowledgeable and nice! It was a great experience for the whole family!

My husband and I were in Anchorage for the first time and we took the Turnagain Glacier Turn Tour. Shaina was our tour guide and we could not have asked for a better trip. She arrived right on time at our hotel - even a bit early - and by the time everyone was seated on the bus, she knew all of our names and was no longer a stranger. We took the tour to the top of Mt. Alyeska, the wildlife conservation and the Portage Glacier. Those sites were unspeakably beautiful, and of course I recommend the tour for the views, but on the bus between sites, Shaina kept us engaged and learning all about the Alaskan culture, nuances with the tides and the various animals who live on the mountains. Her conversation was a great addition to our day and I learned so much that I have been able to share with my friends and family since we have been back. I completely 100% recommend this tour and if Shaina is your tour guide, then you're in for a real treat. What a day to please all the senses. It was an unforgettable, once in a lifetime experience. Thank you, Shaina for making it amazing!

We took a tour with Rebecca and visited downtown Anchorage. She was knowledgeable and friendly, we enjoyed the tour so much that we decided to book a second tour the same day. On our second tour, we went to animal conservation center and got to see some amazing wildlife. The ocean and mountain views to the animal conservation center were just unbelievable. We were lucky enough to be able to see the head of a beluga whale. Although it was raining, we had an amazing time.

Salmonberry organized a full week of vacation for my husband and I. The week was adventurous, lavish (great for our honeymoon), and restful in equal amounts. They stayed in contact with us throughout the process, helped us set up a way of paying that worked for us, and answered my many many questions. The week went for the most part without a hitch (one taxi didn't show up to pick us up one morning, but salmonberry found out right after and immediately made things right with a refund), and considering all the work they put into organizing all our accommodations and tours they did a fantastic job. It was so nice to have a full week of not worrying about making our own plans and still being able to go have fun every day.

It was great. We spend a great time on the glacier. Great food, fantastic introduction, amazing tutor. I am totally satisfied with that!!! If I will visit Alaska one more time I will definitely book Salmon Berry Tours again!!!

Wonderful tour guides and reasonable prices. We have had a wonderful time touring Alaska this past week with Mary and Robbie. Both very knowledgeable of the culture and events and just great people to be around. Would highly recommend them for anyone planning a trip to Alaska.

I went on the Turnagain Tour with Justin and I just want to say how AMAZING he is! Such a friendly person and so knowledgeable! I never felt rushed or felt like I didn't have enough time to enjoy things. We stopped at a few great places to take in the sights and to get beautiful photos before we stopped for lunch. Remember when I was raving about how great Justin was? He brought everyone's lunch (soup, sourdough, and cinnamon roll) to the table, got seconds for those who wanted it, and then cleared the table for us. Um.. amazing right!? We then headed to the Alyeska Tram and the view on top was breathtaking! Then off to the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Centre where Justin gave us a quick through around on the bus and then we were let off to explore more! The tour was a great way to learn about Alaska and see what makes it such a beautiful place.
