Excellent highlights tour of washington.

Using the Segway® was easier than we first thought and practicing in the park was a good way to improve our skills prior to “real” use. The tour was a good way of seeing the highlights without feeling worn out or tired. The cost was not overpriced as the whole experience was very enjoyable and worth much more. Our tour guide, Tyler, was patient, informative and an excellent resource for questions. The traffic and pedestrian interaction was not a problem, and rolling along the entire route was very smooth and easy. We would recommend the Segway PT tour as an easy way to see the highlights without the physical exertion of walking or other methods of transportation. Riding the Segway PT was enjoyable in and of itself.

Driving Directions

Please allow 10-15 minutes to find parking downtown. If you are already downtown, please take a taxi, Uber, Lyft, or other means to arrive for your tour. New Orleans is one of the most visited cities in America, and is a tricky place to find parking. The easiest places to park for New Orleans Segway tours are in the parking lots just North of our store. As you pass 1501 Canal Street, you will see lot parking on the right hand side.

Restrictions Minimum age is 14 years old and minimum weight requirement is 100 pounds. Maximum weight of 275 pounds. Pregnant guests please refrain from participating. Guests should be able to climb stairs without assistance and stand for at least 1 hour. Guests will receive group Segway training as well as individual training. Guests will be provided with a helmet and must fill out a liability waiver form. Riders under 18 must have a parent sign waiver and at least one parent or guardian be on tour with them.

Welcome to your own unique two-hour downtown discovery experience through Old Salem and then throughout the historic revitalized areas of downtown Winston-Salem! This narrated glide begins with hands-on safety training indoors and then moves onto the Greenway for group practice. We then explore super cool areas of our downtown that have been key to the consequences of our great city recognizing many of its historic and restored buildings, combined with the vibrant new aspects of town…some unknown to many.

Every Triad ECO Adventures Segway PT glide includes a thorough Segway PT video orientation and one-on-one training on the flat ground, indoors. Guests are welcome to bring their own bicycle helmet (or a Nutcase brand will be provided) to ensure that everyone has a safe and fun adventure. Segway PT tours can accommodate two gliders between ages 10-13 utilizing a NineBot Segway PT unit (minimum height 4’6″ and minimum weight 45 lbs). Otherwise, all other gliders are required to be at least 14 years of age. Anyone under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent and have a parent sign the waiver. Gliders must be between 100 and 260 lbs to ride the Segway PT and of a height able to adequately balance the adjustable handle.

THE HAUNTED LEGENDS TOUR

This tour makes Galveston look like a cemetery with a beach attached. Faces remain of the episodes of insanity and mass murder. However, there are rumors for things much worse, that have actually marked its splendor from the very beginning.

Mutter and strange whispers, not-at-all human figures, and shaken images and cameras are all you see and hear. On a Segway, nightmare visions become real as a deadly tide begins to engulf us as we get closer to death. Will you survive?

MAGICAL HISTORY TOUR

On the Magical History Tour, our experienced tour guides will take you on a Segway journey starting with the famous downtown area of Galveston, “The Wall Street of the South.”

You will ride by the Railroad Museum, used during prohibition, the most notorious era in Galveston’s History. An average of 40,000 people a day got off the train to gamble and visit the “entertainment houses” At the port of Galveston you will enjoy the fascinating view while hearing about some of the horrifying stories about the storm of 1900. The Galvestonians didn’t give up and rebuild everything against all odds, and the Island rose again.

TREE CARVINGS TOUR

After the 1900 Hurricane storm, Galvestonians got together to rebuild the Island. First, they built a Seawall, which is now known as the world’s largest Seawall.

In doing so, they hoped to raise the entire Island to the same level as the newly built Seawall. After they raised the Island, there was a need to plant trees to prevent the soil from eroding. That’s when thousands of German Oak trees were planted all over the Island to help prevent erosion. During Hurricane Ike in 2008, we lost many of these trees because of the flooding. The homeowners were emotionally attached to these trees and refused to cut them down.

What is the age & weight limit?

We do not have age limits but weight limit. All riders must be between 75lb and 300lb. All riders under the age of 18 must be accompanied with one adult and their parents will need to sign waivers for the riders.

What if I have to cancel?

Once purchased tickets are non-refundable since your space is being guaranteed on the tour. If you think you can’t make your scheduled tour time, give us a call 48th hours before your scheduled tour time and we can reschedule you subject to availability.

What happens if it rains?

Segway Tours run rain or shine. But don’t worry, some of our best tours have taken place in less-than-perfect weather! We have ponchos available to borrow, or feel free to bring your own!

Does every rider have to sign a waiver?

All Segway PT riders must sign a liability waiver before participating in Segway Tour. All Riders under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign for them.

How do I learn to ride a Segway PT?

All customers are required to take a 20-30 minute hands-on training session to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. Riders will watch a safety training video and will be trained on Segway operation and emergency stops. All riders are required to wear a safety helmet at all times while on the tour. We do provide helmets and you are more than welcome to bring your own too.

Can I arrange for a private/corporate/business/school/ scouts event?

How hard is to learn to ride a Segway ?

First of all, everyone who doesn’t have a problem balancing themselves will be able to operate a Segway. The Segways are self-balanced machines, so you don’t need to balance them. Our professionally trained tour guides will provide you with safety training and teach you how to safely ride a Segway before you take your tour.

Where can I buy a Segway?

Our company is an authorized Segway dealer. Therefore we offer new and used Segway’s too available for you to take on a test ride anytime. For more info, please contact our store manager.

If I own Segway, can I bring and use my own machine & do you offer any discounts on your tours?

Absolutely we do. Please call our store, and we will be more than happy to give a discount and let you use your own Segway.

Do you run Segway tours when it rains?

The Segway Pt is designed to still operate in rainy conditions. However, if it’s icy, severe weather, or thunderstorms, we will contact you and reschedule your tour. The rain will not stop us from giving you an incredible Segway experience. If your tour happens to be affected by the weather, we will do our best to let you know as far in advance as possible.

Fantastic pub tour with our guide Jamie yesterday, despite the crazy London weather. Finally, a perfect use for a Segway: Mowing your lawn

Segway, the maker of the dorkiest way to get around while taking a city tour on vacation, wants to mow your lawn for you.

The company is out with the Navimow i series, an AI-assisted, Roomba-like lawnmower that promises to free up Saturday mornings in the suburbs with features that are missing in some other automated mowers, and at a lower price point, too.

Where some other brands’ automated mowers require perimeter wires that have to be buried underground around a property to mark off a work area, Segway’s mower uses virtual boundaries that can be edited on a smartphone.

Users can map out multiple zones on a property and schedule different mow times for each one. And the VisionFence-off Zone feature allows users to mark off things like sidewalks, stone paths, and drain covers that they want the mower to pass over without classifying them as obstacles, enabling it to get from one side of a property to another.

While much of the experience is controlled via smartphone, the Navimow is pretty smart and figures out quite a bit on its own. Its AI-powered assist mapping feature identifies lawn edges, and the company says the mower can map its work area and figure out the most efficient cutting route to “ensure an evenly cut lawn and prevent missed cuts.”

The mower’s visual detection feature allows it to avoid obstacles, something that’s more crucial for a machine that cuts grass with blades than an indoor automated vacuum cleaner. (In a promotional video, Segway previews the tech by showing the mower avoiding a teddy bear and a sleeping child on a blanket.) The mower’s 140-degree field-of-view camera uses an AI algorithm to detect more than 20 common objects.

Segway entered the automated lawnmower market in 2021 with a GPS-powered machine, but the cost of its latest model is significantly cheaper, starting at $999.
