starbenders tour 2023

Review & Photography by Manny Manson for MPM

Starbenders, the American glam rock band hailing from Atlanta, has been carving its own niche in the music scene with a fusion of glam, punk, and alternative rock.

The band, formed in 2014, consists of Kim Shelter on vocals, Kriss Tokaji on guitar, Aaron Lecesne on bass, and Emily Moon on drums. Their eclectic sound draws inspiration from classic rock acts like David Bowie and Queen, blended with a modern edge that resonates with a diverse audience.

The band defy easy categorisation, seamlessly weaving through glam rock, punk, and alternative influences. Their music is a rebellious cocktail, marrying catchy melodies with edgy, raw energy. The band’s discography includes notable releases like “Heavy Petting” (2016), “Japanese Rooms” (2017), and “Love Potions” (2020), and the latest offering “Take Back the Night” (2023), all helping to serve up their creativity and, ultimately, showcase their evolution and versatility.

The appeal of Starbenders extends to a broad spectrum of music enthusiasts. Fans of classic rock find comfort in the band’s nostalgic nods, while those seeking something fresh and daring appreciate their contemporary twists. The varied looks on show by the collective in for tonight’s show help to reinforce that statement.

The stage is set for an intimate encounter with Starbenders, akin to the atmospheric charm of Peter Kay’s Smokey Phoenix Nights Club. The blue neon lights bathed the stage, smoke softened the lighting creating an otherworldly ambiance that perfectly complemented the band’s cosmic aesthetic.

The crowd, a mix of eclectic souls, cheered with an infectious energy as the opening chords of “Holy Mother” reverberated through the venue. The set kicking off with a bang, and immediately establishing the band’s magnetic stage presence.

Kim Shelter, the enigmatic frontwoman, took command of the microphone, asking the audience if there were any “witches” in the room before launching into the spellbinding “Bitches Be Witches.” Shelter’s stage banter and commanding presence kept the audience engaged, creating an electric atmosphere that intensified with each song.

“Marianne” showcased a different side of Starbenders, with Shelter pausing to emphasize the importance of tuning the guitar, she demanded silence! highlighting the band’s commitment to delivering a flawless performance. The crowd reciprocated with hushed silence, apart from a few souls at the bar, a testament to the band’s ability to captivate even in moments of stillness.

“Looking for Veins,” an instrumental interlude, seamlessly continued the sonic journey, leading into the anthemic “We’re Not OK.” The crowd, now fully immersed in the vibe, swayed and rocked to the pulsating rhythm.

“Cover Me,” a track from their album “Love Potions,” added a sultry edge to the set. Released in 2020, the album served as a sonic elixir, blending seduction with rebellion.

“Seven White Horses” emerged as a crowd-pleaser, its galloping rhythm and infectious energy resonating with fans of all ages. The dynamic interplay between Shelter’s vocals, Tokaji’s guitar riffs, Lecesne’s bass, and Moon’s drums created a sonic spectacle that transcended the confines of the stage.

“PUSH,” “Cherry Wine,” and another instrumental interlude, “Dark Spell,” showcased the band’s musical prowess and ability to seamlessly transition between sonic landscapes. Shelter’s singing style, characterized by a blend of theatricality and raw emotion, shone through in “The Game,” bringing a theatrical element to the performance.

“Sex,” featuring Kriss Tokaji, injected a dose of adrenaline into the set, with duelling vocals and electrifying guitar solos. The penultimate tune left the audience buzzing with excitement.

The set concluded with “If You Need It,” a hauntingly beautiful track that explores themes of longing and desire. Shelter’s emotive delivery and the atmospheric instrumentals left an indelible mark, concluding the night on a poignant note.

Throughout the night the venue pulsated with positive energy, a testament to the band’s ability to connect with its audience. Happy fans, their faces lit by the neon glow, revelled in the sonic journey crafted by Starbenders. The seamless blend of classic and contemporary elements resonating with them in a shared appreciation for the band’s musical alchemy.

starbenders tour 2023

The sound quality was impeccable, with each instrument cutting through the mix with precision. The collaboration of Shelter’s vocals, Tokaji’s intricate guitar work, Lecesne’s pulsating basslines, and Moon’s dynamic drumming created a sonic tapestry that enveloped the venue.

Starbenders, with their interstellar sound and magnetic stage presence, delivered a memorable night of rock and rebellion.

starbenders tour 2023

The gig was a testament to the band’s evolution and ability to craft a sonic experience that transcends genre boundaries.

From the cosmic vibes of “Holy Mother” to the haunting allure of “If You Need It,” Starbenders proved that they are more than a band—they are cosmic architects of sound, weaving tales of love, rebellion, and everything in between.

The gig left the audience exhilarated, and seemingly eager to embark on future sonic adventures with Starbenders at the helm. Yet another great school night spent in the arms of Live Music!

Glam rockers Starbenders tackle rock'n'roll excess on new single We're Not Okay, announce new album Take Back The Night

Atlanta's Starbenders announce new album Take Back The Night, share new single We're Not Okay

Starbenders

Starbenders have announced the arrival of their third studio album, Take Back The Night , scheduled for release on August 11 via Sumerian Records.

To mark the news, the Atlanta-based rock'n'rollers have shared new single, We're Not Okay, a sullen yet sparkling exploration through the difficulties of addiction and illness.

Accompanying the track is a Gilbert Trejo-directed video, showing the glam rock quartet wandering through Hollywood, symbolising the hazardous path explored by many seeking the rock star lifestyle that LA has traditionally promised.

Speaking of the song, vocalist Kimi Shelter explains, "When I initially wrote We're Not OK, I was thinking about the struggle I’ve had with spirituality. Sometimes I feel like a poser when I try to tap into faith. That small voice going, “you really don’t believe”, “you know it’s not going to be any different”… and on and on.

"I brought my mentor and dear friend, James Hall, in to co-write. He was able to bring more light to that feeling of hopelessness that we all feel. What’s important is coming together to be “less not okay” and riding out the storm. The answering of prayers can be very subtle, we just have to keep our minds open to the possibility of things changing and working themselves out."

Elaborating on the accompanying visual, she adds: "We tapped into this further with the music video. We also had the honour of working with Gilbert Trejo. He immediately picked up on the sentiment of the song and wanted to show us floating through Hollywood, going through it. The band is depicted as eventually finding one another and carrying on along the walk of fame. Definitely deep rock n’ roll poetry."

Discussing the upcoming album, Starbenders declare in a statement: " Take Back The Night was born in the wake of the band’s most challenging obstacles to date. From life threatening necrotising bacterial pneumonia to addiction to two years of the world in limbo, it felt like the punches kept coming and coming.

"The band made a conscious decision that they were going to practice radical acceptance and stick together no matter what. The frustration and worries we choked down on the daily were transmuted into the compositions and sounds of the new record. All the triumph over serious obstacles made the rocket fuel that propelled their most cohesive and aggressive record ever."

In October, the foursome will jump the pond and head over to the UK for a headline tour.

LIVE REVIEW: Starbenders, Artax, Human Renegade, Cathouse, Glasgow, 13/10/2023

starbenders tour 2023

Starbenders tour finally hit Glasgow’s Cathouse on 13 th October with much anticipation from the fans to hear the songs from their recently released third album Take Back The Night .

Human Renegade started off the night with a quite intense rock set. The fans were delighted to hear that they were playing their latest single Emo , released just that day, for the first time. Cathouse was around half full at this point, as the band played through their set with The Fallen Rising;  their biggest song to date, 17 Hour Heartbreak , and Girl Who Cried Wolf . The set created a great buzz around the Glasgow room. 8/10

The short break allowed fans time to admire the collection of guitars dotted around the venue, Slash and Papa Roach being the more prominent ones. Walking up the stairs there are the names of a lot of famous bands that have played the Cathouse in the past. Artax were next up to entertain the growing crowd. The band describe themselves as 80s prog-pop/rock with synth-wave with the main members being Katie Wills on vocals, who only recently joined the band and Callum Warrender on guitar/keys. Warrender had plenty of energy as he worked up the crowd with some outstanding guitar solos before moving over to the keyboard. The band played a few songs from their 2022 album Sands Of The Oasis as well as their latest single, The Hand That Feeds , which was released in August. Wills’ vocals throughout were excellent and we think we will be hearing much more from this band in the future. 8/10

Starbenders would soon be gracing the stage as the room filled up to almost capacity, the crowd creating a good vibe as the band took to the stage around 9pm. Opening track Blood Moon eased us gently into the set before the popular Holy Mother had everyone nodding their heads in appreciation. Before BITCHES BE WITCHES, singer Kimi Shelter asked the crowd ‘are there any witches in the crowd tonight?’ as the guitarist Kriss Tokaji energised the crowd once again with his thrashing guitar style, moving around the stage constantly. Starbenders can be considered glam rock, rock or punk depending on which song they are playing at the time, and they certainly appeal to a wider audience with a good mixture of ages in the crowd tonight. We’re Not Okay from Take Back The Night had some fans singing the lyrics back to alongside Shelter, which was appreciated by the band as the atmosphere grew.

Cover Me was another big hitter as the drummer Emily Moon thrashed away on her kit at the back of the stage while bass player Aaron Lecesne created a few more band/audience connections . Body Talk was next up: ‘Body Talk/I wanna feel what’s dead inside’ screamed singer Shelter as the fans sang the words back to them. Other songs from the Take Back The Night album, namely Seven White Horses and Cherry Wine were possibly the best songs of the night judging by the reaction of the crowd and we would certainly agree. The set finished with three more songs from Take Back The Night . Firstly, The Game , which is the opening track of the latest album followed by Sex , which saw Tokaji also joining in with Shelter on vocal duties and thrashing guitar solos. The set concluded with If You Need It , a song that is delivered perfectly by the band to end an excellent night of music.

Starbenders will be heading back to the USA for a few more dates near the end of the year but judging by their performance tonight it won’t be too long until the band hit these shores again! 9/10

Atlantan rock quartet STARBENDERS return to the UK in October for their own headline run. Having wowed crowds earlier this year on Palaye Royale ’s sold out European tour – where the band often had to pull double duty when fellow support act Yonaka were forced to cancel some shows – STARBENDERS have whipped up an appetite for more of their powerful modern glam rock. Starbenders are a rock-n-roll dream come true for every hard-luck dreamer occupying this third stone from the sun. Singer/songwriter Kimi Shelter is the love child Johnny Thunders and Joan Jett should have had, raised with an impeccable education from Blondie Elementary School, Def Leppard High, Bowie College, and a Ph.D from Siouxie Sioux University in Fuck All Y’all. Aaron Lecesne brings ripping bass lines, vivid musicality, fashionista chic, and lightning-rod stage energy. Kriss Tokaji is the literal embodiment of a Guitar Adonis whose fretboard mastery easily places him at the pinnacle of today’s young guns, a legend in the making. Then we have Emily Moon , the siren behind the drums, channeling her spiritual father (and namesake), Keith Moon, in a gorgeous tornado of sound and fury. This band has toured the world with everyone from Alice In Chains to Palaye Royale , destroying the entire house every time. They’ve issued twenty-six releases in eight years – singles, EPs, and LPs, including their 2020 full-length, Love Potions , for Sumerian Records. Another album’s worth of new material is currently awaiting release. With a work ethic as relentless as their fabulous vision, there is much more magic yet to come. Megadeth’s upcoming tour lineup is an odd yet interesting mix.

DERBY, ENGLAND - AUGUST 13: Dave Mustaine of Megadeth performs at Bloodstock Open Air Festival 2023 ... [+] at Catton Hall on August 13, 2023 in Derby, England. (Photo by Katja Ogrin/Redferns)

It wasn’t long ago when Megadeth had one of the hottest metal tours on the block which was fittingly coined ‘The Metal Tour Of The Year.’ The 2021 and 2022 co-headlining tour consisted of Megadeth and modern heavyweights Lamb of God with opening acts Trivium, Hatebreed, and later In Flames. Nearly every band on the bill offered something unique yet sonically similar enough to make it an air tight package. Not to mention, the tour sold exceptionally well with averaging 7,000 tickets sold across 24 dates from its first leg. To say it was a smashing success for Megadeth would be an understatement, and with their recent Grammy nomination for their well received 2022 LP The Sick, The Dying… And The Dead , the band was experiencing quite a moment to say the least.

However, despite the recent wins for Megadeth guitarist Kiko Loureiro exiting the band was a pretty big blow to the fans, as he’s made significant contributions to Megadeth since joining in 2015. In fact, in the past Megadeth founder Dave Mustaine had been fairly open about his admiration for Loureiro and he’s gone as far as saying , “Megadeth has had guys like Jeff [Young] and Marty [Friedman], but Kiko is the best we’ve ever had.”

Now with the band’s new guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari, who was recommended by Loureiro prior to exiting the band, Megadeth aren’t quite in the same position they were in a couple years ago, though at no fault of Mäntysaari who is in fact filling the shoes of lead guitarist incredibly well, according to Mustaine.

With all that being said, the band’s recent headlining tour announcement comes as a surprise to many fans, particularly with the supporting lineup Megadeth has in place. Nu metal giants Mudvayne and metalcore pioneers All That Remains are slated to support Megadeth on their upcoming late summer North American, which is titled the Destroy All Enemies tour. Maybe the tour’s title is an attempt at the band poking fun at themselves because it doesn’t appear they’ll be making any new friends with a tour lineup that’s such a stark contrast from their recent North American tours.

After one look at the comments section on Megadeth’s instagram post for the tour announcement, it’s clear that the most upvoted comments are from fans being harshly critical or puzzled by Megadeth’s decision to have Mudvayne and All That Remains as support, and that’s putting it lightly. No disrespect to either Mudvayne or All The Remains as both bands have made significant contributions to early 2000s metal and are great on their own merits, but the three bands together just seems at odds with Megadeth status as a legacy band. If they’d added another opener that was more sonically like minded and a newer act like Havok, Enforced, or even Power Trip the bill would possibly seem a little less jarring to fans. Better yet, a co-headlining tour with Pantera, whom are currently headlining arenas across the states, would do wonders for both bands especially given the demand for the recent Pantera reunion.

WhatsApp Brand New iPhone Feature Just Launched That s Much Easier To Use

New apple id password reset issue hitting iphone ipad and macbook users, messi blocks fc barcelona star from joining inter miami reports el nacional.

Regardless, both Mudvayne and All That Remains can draw on their own, but it’ll be interesting to see if Megadeth fans are the primary ticket buyers for this tour or if there’s a healthy mix from each of the acts’ core fanbases. Or better yet, maybe there’s a more shared appreciation for all acts than the comments suggest. It’s entirely possible, but tickets sales and the crowd response at the shows will no doubt be the deciding factors.

By the numbers: Statistics confirm Scottie Scheffler's historical dominance

Change Text Size

Is impending fatherhood the only thing stopping Scottie Scheffler? Quite possibly.

His historic run continued Monday when he completed his victory at the RBC Heritage. It was his fourth win in his past five starts, a run that also included victories at the Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard, THE PLAYERS Championship and the Masters. The only exception was a runner-up finish at the Texas Children’s Houston Open, where he missed a 6-footer to join Stephan Jaeger in a playoff.

Scottie Scheffler’s Round 4 highlights From RBC Heritage

Scheffler has seemed invincible lately, and the statistics confirm that. Here’s a closer look at some of the key stats that put Scheffler’s historic play into perspective:

  • By winning at Harbour Town Golf Links, Scheffler became the first player since Bernhard Langer in 1985 to win the RBC Heritage one week after winning the Masters .
  • Scheffler is the first player since Tiger Woods in 2006 to win the week after winning a major .
  • With four wins and a runner-up in his past five starts, Scheffler is the first player since Woods in 2007-08 to have five consecutive top-two finishes . Vijay Singh is the only other player to have such a run in the past 30 years (2004).
  • This was Scheffler’s 10th PGA TOUR victory, coming in just his 51st start since he earned his first win at the 2022 WM Phoenix Open. Only David Duval has needed fewer starts after his first win to reach victory No. 10. Duval did it in 33 starts. Tiger Woods is third on the list with 59 starts.
  • In his 51 starts since the 2022 WM Phoenix Open, Scheffler also has 23 top-three finishes (45%) and 35 top-10s (68.6%).
  • All 10 of Scheffler’s wins have come since the start of the 2021-22 season. He is the first player to win 10 (or more) times on the PGA TOUR in the span of three seasons since Dustin Johnson won 10 titles between 2015-16 and 2017-18.
  • This is Scheffler’s fourth win of the season, matching his career-high from 2022. He is the fourth player with multiple four-win seasons since the start of 2000 , joining Woods (10), Singh, (3) and Phil Mickelson (2).
  • Scheffler has now recorded 40 consecutive TOUR rounds at par or better , a streak that began in the final round of the 2023 TOUR Championship. He’s 12 back of Woods’ all-time TOUR mark of 52 straight rounds at par or better (set across 2000-01).
  • In each of Scheffler’s last seven victories, eight or more of the top 10 players in the Official World Golf Ranking have been in the field . His most recent run of four wins in five starts has included two Signature Events (Arnold Palmer Invitational presented by Mastercard, RBC Heritage), THE PLAYERS and the Masters.
  • Scheffler is averaging 5.38 birdies per round this season, on pace to set the all-time TOUR record for single-season birdie average (since the statistic was first tracked in 1980) . Woods set the current record (4.92) in 2020.
  • In his 39 rounds this season, he has outperformed the field average 35 times . He’s been at least a shot better than the field 30 times, at least two shots better 26 times and at least three shots better 19 times.
  • Scheffler leads the TOUR in Strokes Gained: Tee-to-Green by nearly a shot per round this season , after finishing atop the category by more than two-thirds of a stroke per round last season. No player had previously led the category by more than four-tenths of a stroke per round since Woods in 2009.

"Incompatible with their positions" - Rory McIlroy's potential return to the PGA Tour Policy Board irks other members

R ory McIlroy resigned from his position on the PGA Tour Policy Board in November 2023 due to personal and professional reasons. McIlroy is reportedly returning to his position on the board after five months.

Negotiations between the Public Investment Fund and the PGA Tour are underway and they are yet to formally meet to finalize the merger framework agreement. The PIF reportedly specifically asked for Rory McIlroy on the board, which would result in Webb Simpson giving up his seat for McIlroy.

According to Golfweek , Eamon Lynch says many PGA Tour players are allegedly not thrilled with McIlroy's return to the board. Lynch said:

"A small faction on the board sees McIlroy as allied with those who engineered the Framework Agreement last June, and also view his publicly stated position - that a Saudi compromise is both essential and urgent - as incompatible with their positions, the particulars of which they haven't yet revealed for the record."

Jordan Spieth took McIlroy's position on the Policy Board following his resignation in 2023. McIlroy reportedly did not agree with Spieth's stance on the potential merger between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf's principal investor, Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF).

Spieth reportedly believed that the PGA Tour did not need a deal with the PIF and that the $1.5 billion given to the Tour by Strategic Sports Group would be enough of an investment. McIlroy allegedly disagrees and believes that the Tour requires aid from the PIF to grow the game.

When asked about his return to the board during a press conference ahead of the 2024 Zurich Classic of New Orleans, McIlroy said:

"I think I can be helpful. I don't think there's been much progress made in the last eight months and I was hopeful that there would be. I think I could be helpful to the process. But only if people want me involved, I guess."

Rory McIlroy's stance on the PGA Tour Policy Board

Rory McIlroy recently stated that he had spoken to Webb Simpson who would be stepping down if McIlroy were to join the board.

McIlroy said in a press conference ahead of the 2024 Zurich Classic:

"When Webb [Simpson] and I talked, and he talked about potentially coming off the board, I said: ‘Look, if it was something that other people wanted, I would gladly take that seat'...I feel like I care a lot and I have some pretty good experience and good connections within the game and sort of around the wider sort of ecosystem and everything that's going on."

When asked about how he felt regarding his divide with other PGA Tour players and their opinions on the PIF and LIV Golf , he said a "compromise" must be made to grow the game. McIlroy said:

"Compromise, but also try to articulate your points as well as you can, and try to help people see the benefits of what unification could do for the game and what it could do for this tour in particular. We obviously realise the game is not unified right now for a reason and there's still some hard feelings and things that need to be addressed, but I think at this point, for the good of the game, we all need to put those feelings aside and all move forward together."

Fun facts from our Moscow Metro Tours:

From the very first days of its existence, the Moscow Metro was the object of civil defense, used as a bomb shelter, and designed as a defense for a possible attack on the Soviet Union.

At a depth of 50 to 120 meters lies the second, the coded system of Metro-2 of Moscow subway, which is equipped with everything you need, from food storage to the nuclear button.

According to some sources, the total length of Metro-2 reaches over 150 kilometers.

The Museum was opened on Sportivnaya metro station on November 6, 1967. It features the most interesting models of trains and stations.

Coffee Ring

The first scheme of Moscow Metro looked like a bunch of separate lines. Listen to a myth about Joseph Stalin and the main brown line of Moscow Metro.

Zodiac Metro

According to some astrologers, each of the 12 stops of the Moscow Ring Line corresponds to a particular sign of the zodiac and divides the city into astrological sector.

Astrologers believe that being in a particular zadiac sector of Moscow for a long time, you attract certain energy and events into your life.

Paleontological finds

For the first time Rosatom Fuel Division supplied fresh nuclear fuel to the world’s only floating nuclear cogeneration plant in the Arctic

The fuel was supplied to the northernmost town of Russia along the Northern Sea Route.

starbenders tour 2023

The first in the history of the power plant refueling, that is, the replacement of spent nuclear fuel with fresh one, is planned to begin before 2024. The manufacturer of nuclear fuel for all Russian nuclear icebreakers, as well as the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, is Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC), a company of Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL that is based in Elektrostal, Moscow Region.

The FNPP includes two KLT-40S reactors of the icebreaking type. Unlike convenient ground-based large reactors (that require partial replacement of fuel rods once every 12-18 months), in the case of these reactors, the refueling takes place once every few years and includes unloading of the entire reactor core and loading of fresh fuel into the reactor.

The cores of KLT-40 reactors of the Akademik Lomonosov floating power unit have a number of advantages compared to the reference ones: a cassette core was used for the first time in the history of the unit, which made it possible to increase the fuel energy resource to 3-3.5 years between refuelings, and also reduce the fuel component of the electricity cost by one and a half times. The FNPP operating experience formed the basis for the designs of reactors for nuclear icebreakers of the newest series 22220. Three such icebreakers have been launched by now.

For the first time the power units of the Akademik Lomonosov floating nuclear power plant were connected to the grid in December 2019, and put into commercial operation in May 2020. The supply of nuclear fuel from Elektrostal to Pevek and its loading into the second reactor is planned for 2024. The total power of the Akademik Lomonosov FNPP, supplied to the coastal grid of Pevek without thermal energy consumption on shore, is about 76 MW, being about 44 MW in the maximum thermal power supply mode. The FNPP generated 194 million kWh according to the results of 2023. The population of Pevek is just a little more than 4 thousand, while the FNPP has a potential for supplying electricity to a city with a population of up to 100 thousand people. After the FNPP commissioning two goals were achieved. These include first of all the replacement of the retiring capacities of the Bilibino NPP, which has been operating since 1974, as well as the Chaunskaya TPP, which has already been operating for more than 70 years. Secondly, energy is supplied to the main mining companies in western Chukotka in the Chaun-Bilibino energy hub a large ore and metal cluster, including gold mining companies and projects related to the development of the Baimsk ore zone. In September 2023, a 110 kilovolt power transmission line with a length of 490 kilometers was put into operation, connecting the towns of Pevek and Bilibino. The line increased the reliability of energy supply from the FNPP to both Bilibino consumers and mining companies, the largest of which is the Baimsky GOK. The comprehensive development of the Russian Arctic is a national strategic priority. To increase the NSR traffic is of paramount importance for accomplishment of the tasks set in the field of cargo shipping. This logistics corridor is being developed due regular freight voyages, construction of new nuclear-powered icebreakers and modernization of the relevant infrastructure. Rosatom companies are actively involved in this work. Rosatom Fuel Company TVEL (Rosatom Fuel Division) includes companies fabricating nuclear fuel, converting and enriching uranium, manufacturing gas centrifuges, conducting researches and producing designs. As the only nuclear fuel supplier to Russian NPPs, TVEL supplies fuel for a total of 75 power reactors in 15 countries, for research reactors in nine countries, as well as for propulsion reactors of the Russian nuclear fleet. Every sixth power reactor in the world runs on TVEL fuel. Rosatom Fuel Division is the world’s largest producer of enriched uranium and the leader on the global stable isotope market. The Fuel Division is actively developing new businesses in chemistry, metallurgy, energy storage technologies, 3D printing, digital products, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities. TVEL also includes Rosatom integrators for additive technologies and electricity storage systems. Rosenergoatom, Joint-Stock Company is part of Rosatom Electric Power Division and one of the largest companies in the industry acting as an operator of nuclear power plants. It includes, as its branches, 11 operating NPPs, including the FNPP, the Scientific and Technical Center for Emergency Operations at NPPs, Design and Engineering as well as Technological companies. In total, 37 power units with a total installed capacity of over 29.5 GW are in operation at 11 nuclear power plants in Russia. Machinery Manufacturing Plant, Joint-Stock Company (MSZ JSC, Elektrostal) is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of fuel for nuclear power plants. The company produces fuel assemblies for VVER-440, VVER-1000, RBMK-1000, BN-600,800, VK-50, EGP-6; powders and fuel pellets intended for supply to foreign customers. It also produces nuclear fuel for research reactors. The plant belongs to the TVEL Fuel Company of Rosatom.
