The Game announces release date for new album ‘Drillmatic – Mind Vs. Heart’

He previously said it would "be the best album of 2022"

The Game

The Game has announced the release date for his long-awaited 10th album, ‘Drillmatic – Mind Vs. Heart’.

  • READ MORE: The Big Read – The Game: “Me and 50 Cent should have died in that beef”

The rapper has been teasing the new LP for the past few months, sharing tidbits about it on social media including how it will “be the best album of 2022” because the energy behind it “feels like I just signed my deal”.

On Saturday (May 28), The Game took to Instagram to reveal that ‘Drillmatic’ will be arriving on June 17 and that it is executive produced by Hit-Boy . The announcement came alongside an old photograph of himself and his son, but it’s unclear at this point if this will be the album’s cover art.

Hit-Boy recently stopped by Sway Calloway’s Sway In The Morning radio show, and while he was there he played a snippet of a new track from The Game which looks set to appear on ‘Drillmatic’.

“I gotta hear that Game shit,” Sway told Hit-Boy, after which the producer started a track that featured his uncle Ian on the intro. You can check it out below.

‘Drillmatic’ follows 2019’s ‘Born 2 Rap’, which The Game claimed would be his final album. Speaking to NME  at the time of the LP’s release , he said the only thing that might bring him out of retirement would be a collaboration with either Eminem or JAY-Z .

In a four-star review  of ‘Born 2 Rap’, NME ‘s Will Lavin said it wasn’t “just a library of classic records blended together: it’s a lesson in storytelling, something The Game has never received enough credit for.”

Meanwhile, The Game has been getting very vocal lately about how he’s a better rapper than Eminem , saying that he would happily go up against him in a VERZUZ battle.

In March, he told N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN on the  Drink Champs podcast: “I like Eminem, he’s one of the fucking good MCs, great MCs.”

“I used to think Eminem was better than me,” he admitted. Game was then asked how he feels now, to which he replied: “He not. He not. He’s not. Challenge it.”

He reinforced his belief that he’s the superior rapper in a new interview with All The Smoke , while suggesting that Eminem isn’t played in public – at least not at the club or in a locker room.

“When have you ever heard Eminem in a club?” he asked hosts Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes. “When have you ever heard it in the locker room? And I’m not taking away from that, I don’t hear Eminem in the streets. I just don’t. It’s not saying he can’t rap. The skillset is there. I’m just the better rapper. I just haven’t been given the light he’s been giving.”

The Game looks to be dropping Drillmatic: Heart Vs Mind this week. The long-anticipated and oft-delayed album has been taking a toll on the rapper who just last week, announced he was taking a mental health break . “The past two weeks have been a nightmare for me,” he said. And at the very least, the tracklist and the sheer volume of high-profile features on Drillmatic would make any artist proud.

The Game’s New Album Drillmatic Has 31 Songs, 32 Features

After a few pump fakes,  The Game  is finally set to release his new album Drillmatic: Heart vs. Mind on Friday (Aug, 12). The final full track listing—with features included—dropped on Thursday (Aug. 11), and it reveals The Game got assists from half of the rap music industry, with 32 guest appearances on the 31-track LP.

The Compton, Calif. rapper's latest project features a who's who of some of rap's biggest names including Drake , Kanye West, Lil Wayne, YoungBoy Never Broke Again. Game also locked in with veterans (Ice-T , Pusha-T, Cam'Ron, Rick Ross, Chris Brown, Twista) as well as rising stars (Blxst, Roddy Ricch, Fivio Foreign). The tracklist looks more like a compilation album than a solo project.

The album was originally slated to drop on June 17 and was then pushed back to July 1. Earlier this month, Game said much of the delay was due to sample clearance issues and revealed  Jay-Z cleared seven samples for the forthcoming project .

“The energy feels like I just signed my deal,” he wrote in since-deleted Instagram post. “You’ve never heard me rap like this, I promise you.”

Game has already raised eyebrows with the song title "The Black Slim Shady," after his manager Wack 100 teased that Chuck had a Eminem diss song in the chamber back in April.

The album release show is produced by Goldenvoice, a subsidiary of AEG Live, who is bringing other artists such as Scarface, Sean Kingston, Joey Bada$$, and Capella Grey to the Novo later this year.

Despite not having a solid release date, the Compton MC’s latest album is sure to follow soon after the album release show. Just yesterday, The Game took to Instagram to thank Jay-Z for clearing 7 samples on the forthcoming project.

“S/O to S.Dot for clearing all 7 samples on #Drillmatic,” The Game wrote on Instagram. “3 more sample clearances & the AOTY belongs to me & hit-boy.”

Drillmatic marks the 10 th studio album from the West Coast MC. He was slated to retire after his 9 TH album, Born 2 Rap, but it seems as if The Game had a change of heart following his single “Eazy” with Kanye West earlier this year. The album is being entirely produced by fellow West Coast producer Hit-Boy. In a Pusha-T fashion, The Game is already hailing his upcoming project as the best album of the year.

Just last month, The Game and Hit-Boy dropped the first single for the forthcoming album titled “Violence.” You can check it out below, and purchase tickets to the album release party here .

Weekly updates:

Drillmatic: documenting the game’s latest mission, this 30 track opus from the legendary rapper is all frenzies with no filler, as he embarks on an ambitious exploration of internal struggle, and silencing the naysayers..

“Sign my name on the dotted line, that was vengeance on beats,” The Game raps on ‘Eazy’, his mission statement for 2022. It served as his first single since his 2019 album Born 2 Rap , which he intended to be his last, but ultimately lived up to its title in his return, weaving meaningful wordplay together in a jam-packed but punctuating verse. Fired up and ready to make a monumental comeback, The Game enlisted Kanye for a guest verse, as well as Hit-Boy and DJ Premier on production. The dotted line was his determination, and the vengeance was rooted in proving the naysayers wrong, and reaffirming that he is still that dude.

The thing is—why would The Game feel this way? With mixtapes dating back to 2002, collaborations with everyone from Nate Dogg to Ed Sheeran, a slew of platinum plaques, and timeless classics such as The Documentary , you’d feel like the eagerness to establish himself would be gone. But if you look back at this veteran’s career, vengeance has always been a common factor. When he beefs, it isn’t a simple diss track, but instead an attempted slaughter in the form of 2005’s 50 Cent-aimed ‘300 Bars & Runnin’. When people wondered if he’d amass the same quality of music post-Aftermath and G-Unit records, The whispers of a sophomore slump were slashed with T he Doctor’s Advocate . Just this year, The Game took issue with not being included on Rolling Stone’s 200 Greatest Hip-Hop Albums of All Time list, tweeting “I carried an entire coast for 20 years on the back of my 1st album”. His return to rap has been with frustration because the flowers he deserves have been few and far between. On his latest album Drillmatic – Heart Vs. Mind , The Game is snatching them, and continuing to grow his garden.

Even at 29 tracks, Drillmatic rarely begins to feel fatigued. Each song is centred around the internal battle of Heart Vs Mind, with The Game scrolling through the chapters of his life in every verse, and troops being lost on both sides in this conceptual war. ‘Home Invasion’ serves as a commentary on one’s intentions when committing a crime, looking at the tug-of-war between emotion and evaluation that goes into decision-making. ‘Twisted’ looks at the tangled web of both being smart and safe in the hood, using personal anecdotes in a quest to find duality. ‘Heart Vs. Mind’ serves as a track itself, exploring the sadness of today’s social media-surveyed society, and how things change when the cameras are off. Passionately posing the question “Can I teach a young heart to show his mind how to love?” in this track, you begin to notice The Game’s newfound insight. The youthful vengeance remains vehement while staying vigilant in a showcase of wisdom.

The paths in which the album’s main question trudges throughout its duration are enhanced by The Game’s versatile approach throughout. Every frenzy of bars he spits exists in different worlds of sound, with production from Mustard, Hit-Boy, DJ Paul, and more orchestrating the style switches. The booming 808s of New York drill music can be heard on tracks like ‘K.I.L.L.A.S’, as The Game effortlessly flows on the chaotic tempo alongside Cam’ron. The vibrant synths of standout tracks like ‘How Far I Came’ set a celebratory tone for The Game to reflect, and for Roddy Ricch to let off ear-catching melodies. Drillmatic’s experimentation also finds companionship in a star-studded feature list, with the likes of ASAP Rocky, Pusha T, Lil Wayne, and more punctuating their perspectives in their respective appearances. The Game’s ability to let off driven raps alongside any contemporary, all while switching lanes wherever necessary, makes his vengeful return a vehicle that’s undeniably full-speed.

As you reach the end of Drillmatic, you realise vengeance is a complex thing. You can find yourself seeking it viscerally, looking to destroy what once hurt you, or it can be sought after in the name of valiance, where you position yourself as the person to face an issue and ensure you represent the needs of others. Much like the battle of heart and mind, The Game embodies both ways on this album. As he stands on the battlefield of these internal wars he raps about, he finds himself wanting to get the flowers he deserves, from the field of music he’s dedicated over 20 years of his life to. He also uses this quest as a way to shed light on the struggles of the neighbourhoods he once called home, sharing his veteran wisdom through the passion in his bars, and assembling a cast of collaborators to help represent this cause on a grander scale. The Game’s return serves as his most selfless collection of art yet, as he strives for a better culture, as opposed to just besting a foe or silencing a naysayer. As I said before, understanding the revitalisation of Drillmatic is as simple as looking at the title because like Nas’ escaping the maze of the Queensbridge houses, or a drill artist using real-life adversity to create new avenues, The Game is looking beyond hip-hop’s present, towards a future that shares its name with this album’s closing statement: ‘Universal Love’.

The Game announces

Big news for those that have been waiting for The Game ‘s next album. Over the weekend, the Compton emcee took to social media to announce that his long-awaited album, titled Drillmatic – Mind vs. Heart , would be making landfall June 17. He also confirmed that Drillmatic sees executive production from Hit-Boy, who has already created top tier projects with Nas , Dreezy , and Pacman da Gunman over the past year or so.

It’s been three years since The Game released his ninth studio LP Born 2 Rap , which contained 25 songs and a wealth of contributions from Ed Sheeran, Miguel, Travis Barker, Dom Kennedy, Mozzy, Nipsey Hussle , 21 Savage, Anderson .Paak, and more. Since then, the west coast veteran has continued to remain relevant with show-stealing assists on songs like Pacman da Gunman ‘s “How You Feel,” Joyner Lucas’ “On This Way,” DJ Kay Slay’s “72 Bar Assassin,” Glasses Malone’s “Gangsta Boogie,” Papoose’s “Combative Soldiers (Remix),” Rudimental’s “Instajets,” Eric Bellinger’s “Truly Yours,” Russ’ “Nothin New,” Snoop Dogg’s “Jersey In The Rafters,” and (most recently) Kanye West’s “ Eazy ,” which saw him delivering some of his most vivid, top tier bars to date:

“ Started in my Cutlass clutchin’ heat like it’s an open oven, puffin’ chronic, Puff and Biggie out the window, speaker subbin’, run into the Crips, it ain’t no discussion, bullet wounds drenched in Hennessy and teaspoons of Robitussin, head up fades, got a few concussion, yeah, Compton’s amazed , Dr. Dre percussion, God, please grant my nigga eternal life, we need the beats, Aftermath where you fall asleep, you do not eat… ”

A few months ago, The Game made an unforgettable appearance on REVOLT’s “Drink Champs,” where he made it clear that he’s not scared of battling anyone from a rap perspective — even Slim Shady himself:

“I used to think Eminem was better than me … He’s not. Ay, challenge it. … I’m not saying I want smoke with Eminem , I’m saying I want smoke with Eminem, him, and him, whoever.”

Drillmatic Heart vs. Mind

The Game Drillmatic Heart vs. Mind

By Matthew Ismael Ruiz

100 Entertainment

August 18, 2022

Riffing off another artist’s work to make your own is a tried-and-true cure for writer’s block. But while such exercises often serve as a jumping-off point, on The Game ’s new album Drillmatic Heart vs. Mind they’re the endgame—resulting in a nostalgia trip with little substance, the rap version of the Stranger Things aesthetic. Game has long approached his place in hip-hop with a mix of reverence and entitlement; the hook on the title track of his 2005 major label debut The Documentary is literally just his list of the greatest records of all time, his own included. He may truly believe that he’s among hip-hop’s elite MCs, but his career in the two decades since has been defined by his inability to accept the fact that few would agree.

The result is Drillmatic , an exhausting campaign for GOAT status that finds the Compton rapper doing his best to out-rap his guest features while using their own style, à la the Notorious B.I.G. ’s “ Notorious Thugs .” The problem for Game is that this is extremely difficult to do—Biggie was one of the most talented rappers to ever pick up a mic, and even he tried this only once on Life After Death . The Game is less talented, and his experiments with different styles often prove disastrous. He whiffs on attempts to ape Cam’ron ’s forceful enunciation (“K.I.L.L.A.S.”), Pusha T ’s restrained Southern mafioso flow (“No Man Falls”), and the rollercoaster rhythm of Fivio Foreign ’s Brooklyn drill delivery. It’s a daring move that only the most skilled performers should even attempt; Game takes shot after shot on Drillmatic without ever really coming close to succeeding.

Perhaps the most frustrating aspect of these “tributes” is that Game has good taste; it’s just that the creative elements and wordplay he contributes are often so corny they scan as parody. “Money Cash Clothes,” his flip of a Jay-Z and DMX ’90s synth-heavy club hit, quickly descends into something spiritually aligned with Jersey Shore . On “Chrome Slugs & Harmony,” his awkward attempts to mimic Bone Thugs-n-Harmony ’s Cleveland G-Funk are almost as bad as his play on their name. Even when his choices are aesthetically pleasing—the “Rump Shaker” horns (“La La Land”), the Janet Jackson interpolation (“Universal Love”), a snippet of the late Prodigy ’s intro to Mobb Deep ’s “ Quiet Storm ” (“What We Not Gon’ Do”)—they fail to grow into something new, feeling more like Easter eggs than inspiration.

The 10-minute Eminem diss “The Black Slim Shady” takes the mimicry to another level. Game goes beyond merely mocking the white rapper’s voice, delivery, and complexion, writing himself into the Marshall Mathers Cinematic Universe: He kidnaps the brother of Eminem’s infamous “Stan”; murders (and eats) Dr. Dre ; and name-drops Em’s childhood bully D’Angelo Bailey , his ex-wife Kim , and that cluttered closet . He makes desperate attempts to sound as deranged as the white Slim Shady, making for some truly smooth-brained one-liners—“I stick my dick in your podcast,” “Wipe down my stripper pole with the hair grease from your bandana.” The Game’s reverence for Eminem is well-documented , so his claim that he’s only ever played one of his records in his car rings hollow. There’s a sad sweetness to his obsession, the kind of admiration that can only be felt by a die-hard fan.

Drillmatic still offers some poignant moments, however brief. On “Voodoo,” his remake of BOA QG and BOA Hunxho’s original , Game paints a scene of a desperate father struggling to care for his newborn as her mother battles breast cancer, imbuing an otherwise standard ode to the trap with pathos. And Kanye ’s verse on “Eazy,” in which he laments the behavior of his spoiled children (“When you give them everything, they only want more/Bougie and unruly, y’all need to do some chores”) might even garner some sympathy, despite the latent narcissism and toxicity he directs toward his ex. Yet at nearly two hours of runtime across 29 songs—with almost as many features— Drillmatic is plagued by the tracklist bloat typical of the streaming era. Neither fun nor profound, the album is almost impressive in the sense of collecting so much talent to create something so mediocre.

Even at The Game’s commercial peak, he was often overshadowed by his mentor-turned-rival 50 Cent , and he’s been trying to distinguish himself ever since. It’s a little tragic: From the start of his career, the Game has been desperate to be included in the pantheon of his rap heroes, like the ones who performed at this year’s Super Bowl . Yet almost 20 years later he’s even further from that dream, his rivals having taken his place. It’s a common aspiration, to be acknowledged by those you admire. But Game has spent so much energy wanting to be the GOAT that he forgot to actually be great.

The Game Unveils Release Date of Hit-Boy-Produced Album 'DRILLMATIC'

He previously stated “that if you put your ear to [drillmatic] you will then understand why i’m the best rapper alive.”.

The Game hit boy produced Drillmatic new Album Release Date announcement

The Game has officially announced the release date of his upcoming album, DRILLMATIC – Mind Vs. Heart .

The rapper took to Instagram to confirm the news, sharing a photo with his young son who can be seen sporting an N.W.A. chain. “DRILLMATIC – Mind vs. Heart,” he wrote, “June 17th 2022.” He also revealed that Hit-Boy will be serving as the record’s executive producer, who recently shared a clip of an unreleased track from the album.

“When it drops, I promise you that if you put your ear to it you will then understand why I’m the best rapper alive. My controversy has always stepped on my greatness, but that’s all about to change. This album has a strong hold on being the best album of my career. It’s just different… the last time I pulled over & wrote in my car was “I don’t need your love” on The Documentary. Only thing is, back then it was a U-Haul. Today I pulled over the G-Wagon on Labrea because I couldn’t believe how dope the shit in my head was…. I’m parked & I’m not moving until this last song is written & completed. Follow your dreams…. If I could, you can.”

WREXHAM, Wales (AP) — Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney are taking Wrexham back to the United States this summer.

Details were announced in an online video on Thursday, confirming two games in California and another in Vancouver, British Columbia, as part of the Welsh club’s preparations for the English third tier next season.

Wrexham shot to global fame after being bought by Hollywood actors Reynolds and McElhenney in 2021. Under their stewardship, Wrexham has earned promotion in two successive seasons.

Wrexham will play Bournemouth in Santa Barbara on July 20, Chelsea in Santa Clara on July 24, and the Vancouver Whitecaps on July 27.

Last year’s U.S. tour included games against Chelsea and Manchester United.

“It will be a great chance to meet new supporters, while also building for the 2024-25 League One season,” manager Phil Parkinson said.

Wrexham is the subject of the globally streamed documentary series “Welcome to Wrexham.”

Wrexham will play in co-owner Ryan Reynolds’ home city of Vancouver on their pre-season tour of the USA and Canada.

Phil Parkinson’s newly-promoted side head to the 54,500-capacity BC Place on Saturday July 27 to face the Whitecaps in the final outing of a three-game tour that also includes clashes with two Premier League teams.

First up on July 20 at Santa Barbara’s Harder Stadium will be a meeting with Bournemouth , followed four days later by taking on Chelsea in Levi’s Stadium, the home of San Francisco 49ers.

This will be the second consecutive summer that Wrexham have headed across the Atlantic after last July facing Chelsea and Manchester United during a four-game tour that took in North Carolina, Los Angeles, San Diego and co-owner Rob McElhenney’s home city of Philadelphia.

“Last year’s U.S. Tour was a fantastic experience and a memorable trip for all the players and staff,” says manager Phil Parkinson.

“After another successful campaign, we’re delighted to be heading to the west coast again this summer, and we’re also looking forward to venturing up to Vancouver and spreading the club’s footprint into Canada.

“It will be a great chance to meet new supporters, while also building for the 2024/25 League One season.”

How Wrexham, Reynolds and McElhenney celebrated back-to-back promotions

Wrexham’s reduced itinerary and travelling time follows a debrief into last summer’s trip, when the squad zig-zagged from east to west and back again before heading home just one week before the new season got under way.

Now, the players will be back home a little under a fortnight before the big EFL kick-off on August 10, with the plan being to stage one final pre-season friendly on UK soil.

Along with the Welcome to Wrexham documentary, club officials see the trips across the Atlantic as a key part of building an international audience.

Last year’s two-week long trip saw a small profit made from ticket sales and merchandise as crowds flocked to watch the newly-promoted National League champions.

But, the real benefits are expected to come down the line, via tapping into that lucrative U.S. and Canadian market.

Wrexham also proved good for local businesses last year, with one local tourist official forecasting a £15.3 million ($20 million) boost to the local economy in North Carolina around the Chelsea match, which was watched by an attendance of 50,596.

The Q at Myrtle Beach proves YouTube Golf is helping grow the game

YouTube Golf is here to stay as “The Q at Myrtle Beach” pulled massive numbers to prove how beneficial and entertaining golf can be.

YouTube Golf, Myrtle Beach Classic, The Q at Myrtle Beach

As the new kids on the PGA Tour block, The Myrtle Beach Classic garnered attention with a different approach through YouTube Golf.

They held a 16-player, 18-hole shootout qualifier between eight professional golfers and eight YouTubers. The winner earned a spot in the new PGA Tour tournament field.

Incorporating one of the fastest-growing parts of the game was an incredible idea.

Dubbed “The Q at Myrtle Beach,” the video was filmed in early March, but the winner was unknown until Tuesday when Play Golf Myrtle Beach posted it.

The YouTubers who participated in the shootout were Grant Horvat, Peter Finch, Micah Morris, Luke Kwon, Dan Rapaport from Barstool’s ForePlay Pod, Nic Stubbe, better known as Fat Perez of Bob Does Sports, George Bryan of Bryan Bros Golf and Cole Lantz of BustaJack.

The video went live at 1 p.m. ET on Tuesday, April 23.

Since its premiere, it has amassed over 520,000 views.

Play Golf Myrtle Beach's channel has just 11,000 followers. Most of its videos get 1,000 views or less.

Yet, when they utilized YouTubers, the channel pulled massive numbers—we are talking millions of social media impressions across the 10 videos they made.

Was it a perfect production? No, but it is YouTube. To put it simply, the product met the expectations.

The 90-minute video could have been condensed to make it even more attractive, but the views speak for themselves.

It provided people a look into YouTube Golf and why so many enjoy it.

More YouTube Golf involvement with PGA Tour?

This will likely be just the beginning of incorporating more of this element into the game.

YouTube Golf is part of the future. It is great for golf and growing the game. Having that many eyes on a qualifier is massive. Play Golf Myrtle Beach took a risk, and it paid off.

Overall, it was a smart risk to take.

I give it an A- because some changes could have been made. The videography could have been better, and the editing could have been cleaner.

Regardless, the idea should change people's perspective on golf content can be consumed and how vital YouTube Golf will be for the longevity of the game.

No, it is not traditional, but these guys love the same game as traditionalists — they just do it differently. Look at Bryson DeChambeau and how he has elevated his brand by creating a channel.

He understands the value of YouTube for not just his personal brand, but how it can benefit the game as well. DeChambeau has even had some of the YouTube participants on his channel.

Coming out of the pandemic, golf saw in explosion in popularity. Much of that has been at younger age demographics. Those same demographics utilize social media like YouTube to consume content and there are tens of millions of them.

The PGA Tour should examine this campaign and not write it off. Leadership should find ways to incorporate YouTube Golf to attract more young viewers.

Once again, Masters television ratings were in decline on CBS. There is a growing shift in how people consume media and sports. It is incumbent upon the PGA Tour and governing bodies of the sport to do what is best for the future of the game.

For those fans who are still against YouTube Golf, buckle up because it is not going anywhere.

YouTube Golf is not a fad. These guys produce quality golf content, and they deserve respect. Entertainment is part of golf, and they give it to the masses.

Embrace them and check out their content because this element of the game will need to be included for golf to continue to thrive.

Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell in "Anyone But You."

Anyone But You finally made its Netflix streaming debut, which is exciting news for rom-com fans everywhere. As you watch the movie, you might be wondering where Anyone But You was filmed and if you can visit the breathtaking beaches, cliffs, and other locations in real life.

Loosely adapted from Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing,” Anyone But You stars Glen Powell as Ben, a finance bro who has an incredible first date with Bea (Sydney Sweeney), a law student uncertain about her career. After spending the night, Bea panics and leaves without telling him. When she realizes she made a mistake and returns to his apartment, she overhears Ben saying that she is a “nothing” to him.

Years later, they unexpectedly reunite at a destination wedding in Australia for Bea’s sister, who is marrying Ben’s friend. When their exes show up, they pretend to be a couple—and the rest is history. The film was directed and co-written by Will Gluck, the filmmaker behind rom-coms like Easy A and Friends with Benefits . It was released in December and had an impressive run at the box office, surpassing $88 million domestically and $219 million worldwide, according to Box Office Mojo .

After its release, the movie went viral on TikTok as audience goers reacted to the film’s credit sequence, which features the cast dancing and singing to Natasha Bedingfield’s nostalgic 2004 hit “Unwritten,” a song highlighted throughout the film. There were also rumors of an off-screen romance between Powell and Sweeney that helped promote the film, as well as the actors’ flirty publicity tour and Sydney Sweeney’s SNL monologue .

Now, Anyone But You is back in the limelight after the film was released on Netflix on April 23, quickly becoming the No. 1 movie on the platform in the U.S. after just one day.

Anyone But You was filmed in parts of Australia around New South Wales and Sydney. Director Will Gluck told The Hollywood Reporter that he wanted the film set in Sydney because he had “really fallen in love with the city” and liked it so much he moved his family there.

“Almost every time you shoot a movie in Sydney, you have to pretend it’s somewhere else and frame out the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. For Anyone But You , I thought, “Why do that?” We actually wrote this movie 100 percent for Sydney — very specific to the destination,” Gluck wrote.

The director continued, “We flew helicopters all over — seeing the city from that vantage point is stunning — and landed one at the Opera House, shut down the Harbour Bridge, filmed at the Queen Victoria Building, and shot for two weeks overlooking Bondi Beach,” he said. “We spent a week on a boat in Sydney Harbour shooting a scene where they’re stranded on a buoy, but you can’t have humans in the water without a shark cage, so we had to have one the whole time. You pinch yourself. It’s so unbelievable we were actually doing these things.”

Here are a few specific Anyone But You filming locations you can visit in person.

Sydney Opera House

The Sydney Opera House is a focal point in Anyone But You. The 20th-century architectural landmark serves as a gorgeous backdrop for big moments, including the end scene when Ben passionately kisses Bea, who is standing at the top of the steps. You can visit the performing arts center for special events and tours.

Marks Park, Bondi

Located in Sydney's northern suburbs, the wedding scene in Anyone But You was filmed at Marks Park overlooking Bondi Beach and the Pacific Ocean. The cliff-top park is open to the public and has fitness stations, a playground, and some shaded areas.

Many of Anyone But You ’s breathtaking beach scenes were filmed around Palm Beach. Director Will Gluck told THR that one of the best parts of filming was on location in Palm Beach, a suburb in the Northern Beaches.

“Our caravans were parked right on the water, and Glen and Sydney and I decided to live there the whole time. We’d shoot all day and all the crew would go home, then we’d jump in the water and have a swim, go to our trailers and have dinner sitting outside,” he said. “It’s one of the most beautiful places in the world, and you normally wouldn’t be allowed to sleep there. It was probably the most fun I’ve ever had filming.”

The historic Jones Bay Wharf is another familiar filming location in Anyone But You. The hidden gem in the Pyrmont district is home to fine dining restaurants, charming cafes, and beautiful views the of the city and Harbour Bridge.

Texas MS 150 Bike Tour Returns To Aggieland

Texas A&M University will once again serve as the finish line for thousands of cyclists riding in the Texas MS 150 when the 40th annual charity bike tour concludes Sunday on Houston Street between Kyle Field and Aggie Park.

The two-day event benefiting people with multiple sclerosis — a condition that damages the body’s nervous system by eroding the protective coating of nerves — will run April 27-28, with a variety of routes beginning in Houston and Austin before converging in La Grange and again in College Station. Texas A&M Transportation Services is advising drivers to anticipate multiple road closures and potential delays beginning early Sunday as the riders make their way through campus.

A section of Lamar Street starting at the bell tower will be closed to drivers throughout the day, while Houston Street will remain closed from George Bush Drive to Joe Routt Boulevard. Riders will make their way down Olsen Boulevard and Old Main Drive before passing the Memorial Student Center and Kyle Field on their way to the finish line. A map of the route through campus, as well as accompanying road closure and parking information, can be found at transport.tamu.edu/ms150 .

Visitors planning to watch the participants finish are invited to park in one of the three nearby garages: Gene Stallings Boulevard Garage and University Center Garage will both charge a flat $10 entry fee, while West Campus Garage charges an hourly visitor rate. Additional parking information is available on Transportation Services’ event parking page .

The National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s Bike MS, which encompasses the Texas MS 150 and a variety of other charity rides across the country, traces its roots to 1980, when the first MS 150 was held in Minnesota. Today, it is the largest fundraising cycling series in the world. Participants in this year’s Texas MS 150 have already raised nearly $7 million to fight multiple sclerosis, with an overall fundraising goal of $9.425 million. More information about the Texas MS 150 and Bike MS is available at events.nationalmssociety.org .
