tour divine d'east altus

Elden Ring Divine Tower of East Altus Creatures, Enemies, and Bosses

Regular creatures and enemies, field bosses and bosses, how to reach the divine tower of east altus.

Start at central Leyndell’s Avenue Balcony site of grace, then go up the stairs and turn left.  Follow the road to the large door out of the central city.  Go out the door and up the stairs in the ashy sandy area past a vicious mob.  Follow the path and a door to the left will hold a wooden court-room style elevator.   The route after the elevator leads both to another elevator to the Forbidden Lands  or also to a different southeast exit with a lone Leyndell Soldier patrolling a path - approach him and you'll be ambushed by the Fell Twins . After you defeat them and reap the rewards of this battle, the way forward leads to the Divine Tower.

This is the only Divine Tower where you can activate two Great Runes - Morgott's and Mohg's.

[other images go here]

There is a Two Fingers on a mound of earth at the top of this tower, in the centre of eight meteorite fragments.

The door entering this divine tower faces south-southeast and the entrance to the top faces east-northeast, an angle of 90 degrees off entering the tower. The tower is covered with what appears to be molten rock on its east-northeast face (to the left as you enter it).

tour divine d'east altus

I’m confused. I killed Morgott at the Tree’s entrance and returned to the gate at the base of this tower, but I still get a message saying I’m not able to enter? What gives?

The only tower where you restore two Runes - Morgott and Mohg's runes are restored here.

FYI You have to kill mogh lord of blood in moghwyn palace not normal mogh

what if you have killed both Margott and mogh and go here? I only unlocked margotts rune and moghs does not appear. did I mess the play through up?

They need to put that you have to defeat Morgott before you can access the tower. Made a new character and through cheesing and such i have Mohg's rune and i cannot get past a barrier that when activated says "Sealed by Morgott, the Grace Given"

A bit lazy to do both runes in the same tower without indications of why or where is the one you need

Ngl it was a pretty fun boss fight, just walking to the soldier only for the screen to go black and return with the soldier dead in a pitch black room then seeing 2 omens coming after you

Has anyone else noticed that when looking south from the balcony you can see what seems to be a portion of the map obscured by fog?

Do you have to choose between which rune you activate? Just want to be sure before I do it

This is my third favorite of the divine towers.

tour divine d'east altus

Why is there no mention of two Great Rune restoration options? One is yellow the other is red.

Is there a way to get to this tower without killing Morgott? Want to activate Mohg's rune on a lvl40 invader character and would rather not go through the pain of that fight.

STOP SPAMMIN PEOPLE!

This is located at the top of the tower right before the forbidden lands grace. You fight the fell twins in the darkness

In the tower with the elevator from Leyndell's capital outskirts to the entrance to the Forbidden Lands, take the right exit instead of going down the elevator. You'll have a surprise boss fight on the bridge with Fell Twins, but compared to the bosses you just beat to get here, they're a cakewalk (though I may have been overleveled), and there's no enemies or puzzles (or platforming, thank goodness!) in the tower itself.

I don't know how to properly set up the page, so I'll just say what I found. Basically, after you fight the Fell Twins (go to the Forbidden Lands grace, then go back up the elevator and go to the southern exit from the room, screen goes dark, boss fight begins, yadda yadda) the game spits you out at the foot of the tower next to a site of grace. No enemies or anything in the tower, just one elevator ride up, site of grace at the top, badda bing, badda boom, great rune restored.

Before the elevator that takes you down to the Forbidden Lands Site of Grace, there's a path leading South that leads you to this tower. When you first step on the bridge, the game will go black and you'll have to fight the Fell Twins boss fight before continuing.

You can find the tower by going through the gate below the grace "East capital rampart". Go through that big gate and follow the stairs.

You have to go to the elevator that take you to the forbidden lands but don’t go up it, instead circle around it till you find a doorway in the wall, this will take you to a bride which leads to the tower. Hope this helps!

You have to go to the bottom of the elevator that takes you to the forbidden lands, don’t take the elevator up but there’s a doorway if you circle around it, this leads to a bridge which will take you to the tower if you follow it. Hope that helps!

...Congrats? Were you sworn to secrecy, or can I know where it is, too?

From the Avenue Balcony Site of Grace in Leyndell, Royal Capital head east down the road until you reach a lift. Take the lift and head up the steps to the Capital Outskirts. Head further east to the next lift, but intstead of taking it, head through the southern door and follow that road all the way until you reach the Divine Tower of East Altus.

What to Do in Divine Tower of East Altus

Activate morgott's great rune.

After defeating Morgott, the Omen King , you will receive Morgott's Great Rune . You will first need to activate this Great Rune by taking it to the top of the Divine Tower of East Altus.

After that, equip Morgott's Great Rune at any Site of Grace, then use a Rune Arc to activate its effects.

How to get to the Divine Tower of East Altus in Elden Ring

Here's where you can activate Mogh and Morgott's Great Runes.

Elden Ring East Altus Divine Tower

Looking for the way to the Divine Tower of East Altus in Elden Ring? Shardbearer bosses drop Great Runes , but they're pretty useless until you activate them. Each rune is tied to a specific Divine Tower, so you'll need to figure out how to get to them to power them all up.

The Divine Tower of East Altus is to the southeast of Leyndell, Royal Capital and, like the others, you've probably spotted it in the distance as you explore. This tower is also the only one that activates the Great Runes from two different bosses. So without further ado, here's how to get to the East Altus Divine Tower.

Elden Ring East Altus Divine Tower: How to get there

This Divine Tower activates the Great Runes for both Morgott and Mogh. As you should've defeated the former to reach this area, the door should be unlocked when you arrive.

From the Avenue Balcony Site of Grace, head to the main road through the capital, then northeast to open the big door at the end. Make your way up the steps in the following area, then use the elevator in the building to your left at the top. From here, follow the bridge until you reach the large circular building with an elevator in the middle.

It's a good idea to use the elevator and activate the Forbidden Lands Site of Grace at the bottom. You could skip this step, but you'll have a boss to deal with shortly, so it's worth grabbing this Site of Grace instead of running back from Leyndell if you die. Once activated, head back up the elevator and proceed out of the door to the southeast.

You'll see the divine tower straight ahead, but as you start running across the bridge that leads to it, your screen will begin to darken. Take out the Fell Twins that appear here, then you're free to move across the bridge to the tower.

Open the doors and head up the elevator to find the Two Fingers that let you activate the Great Runes for Morgott and Mogh.

Elden Ring: How To Activate Morgott's Great Rune

In this guide we'll take a look at how to activate Morgott's Great Rune at the Divine Tower of East Altus.

Quick Links

How to activate morgott's great rune, how to find the divine tower of east altus, what does morgott's great rune do.

Morgott, The Omen King is one of Elden Ring 's most challenging bosses, especially in his first appearance as Margit. Now that you've overcome his final roadblock and defeated him in Leyndell, Royal Capital, you have acquired his Great Rune. But, before you can use the power of Morgott's Great Rune, you must first activate it at a Divine Tower.

Related: Elden Ring: How To Activate Malenia's Great Rune

Great Runes provide immense additional strength in a variety of different ways, but they must first be activated at a Divine Tower. Even after activation, the power of the Great Rune will only apply when you use a Rune Arc . Let's take a look at how to get and activate Morgott's Great Rune, and what it does once activated.

Morgott's Great Rune can be activated at the Divine Tower of East Altus . This tower is located near Leyndell, but can only be found by following a specific path. To activate the Great Rune, ascend the tower and interact with the dead Two Fingers at its peak.

The Divine Tower of East Altus can be found by following a path from Leyndell, Royal Capital. Starting from the Avenue Balcony Site of Grace , head northeast along the main road towards the closed gate. Push open this gate, then continue along the path past the Misbegotten enemies , killing or evading them.

At the end of the path, turn to the left to find a lift . Activate the lever here to send yourself up the tower. At the top, continue straight and kill or evade the Leyndell soldiers . Keep heading straight across the bridge and deal with the Leyndell Soldier on a horse. After this, it's a straight shot forward to the next lift. If you want, take the lift down to reach the Forbidden Lands Site of Grace , which will provide a close checkpoint for the upcoming encounter.

Whether you activated the Forbidden lands Site of Grace or not, take the southeast exit from the top of the tower lift. After taking a few steps across the bridge, the world will go black, and the Fell Twins will appear. These two bosses must be defeated in order to continue .

After the Fell Twins are down, continue southeast along the bridge until you reach the Divine Tower of East Altus . Ride the lift to the top, and activate Morgott's Great Rune at the base of the dead Two Fingers .

The effects of Morgott's Great Rune are pretty simple; it will increase your maximum HP . When activated, Morgott's Great Rune increases your HP by 25 percent , after applying other HP increasing effects like those from buffs, equipment, and spells.

While not the most interesting, Morgott's Great Rune will provide a large chunk of additional HP that will allow you to survive bosses later in the game. Just be sure to use a Rune Arc to gain the effects of the Great Rune.

All Elden Ring Divine Tower locations: How to activate Great Runes

A holy high.

Update: We've streamlined the information on this page and added some additional tips so that you have no trouble finding Elden Ring's Divine Towers and activating any Great Runes that you have collected.

Elden Ring Divine Towers are easy to find in theory. The massive monoliths loom above the horizon everywhere you look, but they're locked behind dungeons, quests, and sometimes even boss fights.

If you want to make the most of your demigod spoils, you’ll need to brave their challenges. Divine Towers are the only way to activate Great Runes . These are completely separate from Remembrances, so even if you opt to consume a Remembrance and ignore the weapons and spells they offer, you can still activate Great Runes. It's also a one-time process. While you can swap Great Runes at Sites of Grace, you only need to activate them once.

How do you activate Great Runes in Elden Ring?

  • Where is Limgrave’s Divine Tower?
  • Where is Liurnia’s Divine Tower?
  • Where is Caelid’s Divine Tower?

Where is the Divine Tower of East Altus in Elden Ring?

  • Where is the Divine Tower of West Altus?
  • How do you activate Malenia’s Great Rune?

Each Great Rune needs to be activated at the Divine Tower in the region where you defeated the demigod in question, with a few exceptions. Activating Malenia’s Great Rune takes you to the Isolated Tower in the middle of the ocean, and Rennala’s Great Rune doesn’t need activating. Its power is granting you rebirth (respeccing) and is always active.

The trouble is, Elden Ring is pretty happy not telling you much about Divine Towers and how they work. Divine Towers are massive structures visible from anywhere in their respective regions, though getting inside is often a much more complicated matter. Most Divine Towers are relatively straightforward once you gain access – except Caelid’s, which is fittingly hellish.

Where is Limgrave’s Divine Tower in Elden Ring?

If you want to activate Godrick ’s Great Rune – and you should, since it’s among the best – you’ll need to venture back inside Stormveil Castle. The route to Limgrave’s tower is just inside the front gate. If you took the long way around, head back south through the courtyard from the Liftside Site of Grace. You’ll still have to contend with the deadly ballistae and fire bombs, but the pacing is slightly better than storming the front gate.

Take a left under the portcullis, and just run. There’s a deadly sword-wielding lion that attacks, and unless you’ve cleared out the enemies in the courtyard, fighting this is more trouble than it’s worth. Activate the Site of Grace beyond the statues – these don’t come to life, no matter how threatening they look – and move ahead onto the bridge.

You’ll eventually reach two giant golems, an axe-wielding one and a greatbow golem. You can defeat them if you want or just run past them and activate the teleporter. From there, it’s just a matter of following the staircase up to the tower’s roof and activating the Rune next to the dead Fingers. Once activated and when equipped, Godrick's Great Rune raises all of your attributes by five.

Where is Liurnia’s Divine Tower in Elden Ring?

Liurnia’s Divine Tower is the Carian Study Hall, east of the Church of Vows. You can access it from the north, at the end of the road opposite the Ainsel Well elevator. It’s required for Ranni’s quest, and Ranni’s ending subsequently, but not for Rennala ’s Great Rune. Inside is a host of ghostly Carian knights and scholars, along with the miniboss Preceptor Miriam.

She fires Glintstone Comet and uses the Glinstone greatbow spell, and she also vanishes after taking a certain amount of damage. You’ll fight her for most of your trip up the tower. Bolster your magic defenses to make this easier.

Rennala's Great Rune is essentially your ability to respec; you won't actually be able to acivate it at the Divine Tower or Liurnia. Instead, your reward for venturing to the tower is a key part of Ranni's quest , and there's ultimately no point going to the tower until Ranni asks you to invert it. There's also a Godskin Noble here who's armor you can collect after defeating it.

Where is Caelid’s Divine Tower in Elden Ring?

Caelid’s Divine Tower is in Dragonbarrow, south of the Bestial Sanctum and east of the Isolated Merchant’s Shack. It’s also a bit of a trial to enter that requires you to parkour along the outside of it for the most part, rather than venturing inside.

Approach it from the west, and use the giant roots to reach the platform outside of the tower with a campfire. There is also a slope on the other side of the tower that takes you down to a circle of dead people in a chair, where you can grab some Somber Smithing Stones and a few other rare items.

tour divine d'east altus

Once you’re ready to start climbing, head toward the platform with the campfire. Defeat the soldier, and climb the ladder. Walk across the buttress to the other side, defeat the soldier there, and climb the ladder. Use the buttress to cross the gap to your left, and continue making your way around the tower counterclockwise. You’ll need Torrent’s double jump for a few of these areas. Just take care to hug the wall as you jump, since Elden Ring likes to have you bounce off the edges of ledges at times.

Activate the tower Site of Grace, and head up the stairs to your right. Heading left takes you into the tower basement, a complicated platforming maze with Godskin Monks and a Godskin Apostle at the bottom. If you don’t feel like taking that route, you’re free to skip it. The elevator at the top of the stairs takes you to the top of the tower, where you can activate Radahn ’s Great Rune. This boosts your HP, FP, and max Stamina.

The Divine Tower of East Altus is east of Leyndell, on the road to the Mountaintops of the Giants, and it’s one of the easier ones to reach. You have to defeat Morgott before the path opens. After that, it’s just a matter of taking the capital outskirts road east until you reach the Grand Lift of Rold .

After taking the lift, take the second exit that doesn't lead you outside into the Forbidden Lands (but do grab the Site of Grace here). You'll soon find yourself in the dark, literally, as two Fell Twins fight you. After that, however, you'll be straight on your way to the Divine Tower of East Altus.

Here, you'll be able to activate both Morgott and Mohg 's Great Runes. Morgott's will raise your maximum HP when equipped, while Mohg's will provide the blessing of blood to phantoms when equipped. This means that any of your summoned Spirit Ashes will have the blessing of blood while using Mohg's Rune; they'll gain a buff when inflicting blood loss and be able to life-steal, which is great for bleed build players or Black Knife Tiche users.

tour divine d'east altus

Where is the Divine Tower of West Altus in Elden Ring?

The Divine Tower of West Altus is where you’ll activate Rykard ’s Great Rune, so you'll need to beat him first before you're able to access the tower.

Enter the Sealed Tunnels outside Leyndell – accessed by descending to the moat – and defeat Onyx Lord at the end of it. The path that opens after him leads to the tower, but you will no doubt be spending plenty of time getting lost in the Sealed Tunnels among all of its illusory walls first...

How do you activate Malenia’s Great Rune in Elden Ring?

Malenia ’s Great Rune is a bit different. You’ll need to access the Isolated Divine Tower, which is in the middle of the ocean. There’s a teleporter in the capital that takes you there, though.

Head towards the Fortified Manor, but in the large hall where you normally turn right, take the first doorway instead of the second. Follow the pathway until you reach a gate in the metal fence. Turn left, and there’s an elevator at the far end. There’s also a giant iron maiden with two Ghiza’s Wheels in the courtyard. Deal with it first, or at least distract it so you can reach the elevator without it joining you.

Follow the path once the elevator stops, and take the teleporter. It transports you to the tower, where you can activate the Rune at the dead Fingers like usual. Malenia's Great Rune, when equipped, will allow you to recover HP whenever you dish out an attack after taking damage.

Elden Ring: How to Get Inside Divine Tower of East Altus

Elden Ring players that reach the Divine Tower of East Altus may want to know how to get inside it.

After Elden Ring players start their journey through the Lands Between, they'll quickly realize that this world has many secrets to uncover. Developer FromSoftware's design is meant to keep players from knowing everything there is to know, relying on gamers to figure out things themselves.

Once Elden Ring players make it past Leyndell Royal Capital on the northern side of the map , they might come across a massive tower called the Divine Tower of East Altus. Upon approaching the tower, its front door will be locked unless players have obtained a certain item from one of the main bosses. If players have come to the Divine Tower, and it's not opening for them, they missed out on fighting Margott, the demi-god Omen King, at Leyndell.

RELATED: Elden Ring: 10 Crafting Items You Should Always Have Ready

How to Open Divine Tower of East Altus

In order to open up the door to the tower, players will need to go and defeat Morgott back at the capital. Morgott is the true form of Margit, the first major boss in Elden Ring . Upon its defeat, players will be rewarded with 120K Runes, Remembrance of the Omen King, and most importantly, Morgott's Great Rune.

Morgott's Great Rune will not work if players equip it until they restore its power at the Divine Tower of East Altus. Once players have it in their possession, the tower will open up for them. Once equipped, Margott's Great Rune increases players' max HP, but players will need to use a Rune Arc to activate the Rune's power.

How to Get to Divine Tower of East Altus

For any players that have yet to get to the tower, but have already beaten Morgott, here's a step-by-step guide on how to get there from the Avenue Balcony Site of Lost Grace at Leyndell:

  • From the Avenue Balcony Site of Lost Grace , head up the nearby staircase that leads south.
  • When players reach the main avenue with the overturned carriages, turn left and head northeast. Follow the path until players reach another area past a door.
  • Head directly east up the large staircase on the left-hand side.
  • Keep going up the stairs, and then follow the path south. However, once players see an archway on the left between two statues, they should go in there and ride the elevator up.
  • Players will end up in the Capital Outskirts area, and they should follow the path until they reach another lift. Ignore the lift, and exit out of the Southern doorway to end up on another bridge leading to the Divine Tower of East Altus.
  • Go to the top of the tower and interact with the glowing spot in the middle of the arena to restore Margott's Rune.

Elden Ring is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Divine Tower of East Altus

Elden Ring: How to Access the Divine Tower of East Altus

Image of J.R. Waugh

The Divine Tower locations scattered across the Lands Between in Elden Ring serve as worthwhile landmarks to explore if you want to use the Great Runes you get off major bosses.  One such boss in Altus Plateau, Morgott, gives off a great rune which must be activated at the Divine Tower of East Altus .  This location is tucked away a bit on the map, and can go unnoticed if you’re not careful.  Read on for our guide on  How to Access the Divine Tower of East Altus in Elden Ring!

Elden-Ring-Divine-Tower-of-East-Altus-path

The path to the Divine Tower is pretty straightforward, simply go through the eastern exit of Leyndell toward the Grand Lift of Rold .  You can conveniently reach this by fast traveling to the Avenue Balcony site of grace and going along the road, up the wooden lift to the Capital Outskirts.  From here, go to the next, larger lift along the path, but don’t take it, instead going through the door to the southeast .

You’ll be able to see the Divine Tower up ahead, as well as a patrolling enemy.  But as you approach, shadows engulf you and the area, and you’ll be confronted by two boss enemies, the Fell Twins .  These are reasonably easy to defeat, and you can take out the axe-wielding one before the magic-user can pose a threat to you.  Upon beating them you’ll gain the Omenkiller Rollo Ashes and you can proceed to the tower and a site of grace.  The doors are unlocked already, so go inside, take the lift, and you’ll have immediate access to the top, where you can activate Morgott’s Great Rune, giving you increased Maximum HP.

This concludes our guide on  How to Access the Divine Tower of East Altus in Elden Ring!   Be sure to check out our other guides , as well as how to access other divine towers , and our review !

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Series X|S.

This part of the Elden Ring Walkthrough is dedicated to the Divine Tower of East Altus . You will find here the complete description of the area as well as the location of the items to collect.

Items to Collect

– Perfume Bottle – Somber Smithing Stone (6) x2 – Flamedrake Talisman +1 – Omenkiller Rollo Ashes – Official’s Attire – Blade of Calling

From the Site of Grace of the East Capital Rampart, take the elevator of the shortcut and return to the main street of the city ( picture1 ). There, head northeast and open the big door ( pictures2-3 ).

tour divine d'east altus

On the other side of it, go southeast and continue to the dead end at the very back ( pictures4-5 ). There, eliminate the Leonine Misbegotten and then retrieve the Perfume Bottle before turning around ( picture6 ).

tour divine d'east altus

Back at your starting point, climb the stairs and climb the hill to the north; a little further, kill the Misbegotten in front of the statue and collect the Somber Smithing Stone (6) ( pictures7-8-9 ).

tour divine d'east altus

From there, you can deal with the enemies to the south or simply run to the large elevator located a little further ( pictures10-11 ). Once on the upper level, move towards the big door and kill the Soldiers ( picture12 ).

tour divine d'east altus

Once this is done, retrieve the Flamedrake Talisman +1 from the corpse and continue on your way ( picture13 ). Note that if you come here before killing Morgott, a magic seal will prevent you from going any further. Anyway, go take care of the Horseman on the bridge and then kill the Scarab a little further to get a Somber Smithing Stone (6) ( pictures14-15 ).

tour divine d'east altus

Now move forward to the next building and, rather than taking the elevator, turn southeast ( picture16 ). Then move forward a few meters to find yourself plunged into the darkness with the Fell Twins ( pictures17-18 ).

Boss Battle – Fell Twins

Reward : Omenkiller Rollo Ashes

For warriors as for mages, it will first be a question of summoning a spirit so that it goes to take care of the furthest brother. During this time, attack the nearest boss and eliminate him as soon as possible. This one being the weaker of the two, the operation should be relatively easy. Thereafter, focus your attention on the remaining brother and repeat the previous operation, while being careful of his ranged attacks and above all, his devastating sword blows.

After the fight, you reappear at the foot of the Divine Tower of East Altus, so activate the Site of Grace there, and then enter the building ( picture19 ). Take the elevator inside and continue your progress towards the roof; there, restore the power of Morgott’s Great Rune ( pictures20-21 ).

tour divine d'east altus

Once this operation is completed, go back to the foot of the tower and cross the bridge to return to your initial position ( picture22 ). Once at your destination, activate the elevator and then, during the descent, turn to the southwest to be able to jump into a small hidden corridor ( picture23 ).

tour divine d'east altus

Here, collect the Official’s Attire from the corpse, then enter the office to find the Blade of Calling ( pictures24-25 ). From this point, you can reach the lower level and exit the building to reach the Forbidden Lands ( picture26 ).

What do Divine Towers in Elden Ring do?

The Elden Ring Divine Tower locations number six in total, in a rough circle across the Lands Between, starting with Limgrave Divine Tower. The Great Runes you find from killing certain bosses are restored at these Divine Towers, allowing you to access new powers and buffs while you play, such as enhancing stats or even granting health restoration. However, none of them are easy to get into, with various puzzles, secret entrances or deadly foes to contend with along the way. This is Elden Ring , after all. To help you know where to find all the six Divine Towers in Elden Ring we have all the maps and information you could need coming up. Whether it's Limgrave, Caelid, Liurnia, West Altus, East Altus or the Isolated Divine Tower - have them all here, with all the details you need.

Elden Ring divine tower locations

  • Divine Tower of Limgrave : Godrick's Great Rune
  • Divine Tower of Caelid : Radahn's Great Rune
  • Divine Tower of Liurnia : Cursemark of Death (Quest item)
  • Divine Tower of West Altus : Rykard's Great Rune
  • Divine Tower of East Altus : Morgott's Great Rune and Mogh's Great Rune
  • Isolated Divine Tower : Malenia's Great Rune

There's a total of six Divine Towers located in Elden Ring, notably arranged in a circle around… the sea? A suspicious patch of cloud that could be hiding future DLC? You could make an argument that they're supposed to be orbiting the Erdtree, but that looks too high up in the circle to be the focal point, though it would make sense from a storytelling/design perspective. Either way, six towers, some of which will take a lot longer to get into than others. We've laid them all out below in the rough order you'll encounter them, as well as what Great Rune(s) they're associated with (with one exception). You can even click on that Tower's name to find out how to get inside!

All the Divine Towers require you to reach the very highest rooftop, where there'll usually be a pair of giant decayed fingers (don't ask) and some kind of glowing rune among them. That's your goal - despite some of the Towers having divergent paths, your aim is to find the elevator and reach the highest point possible.

How to get into the Divine Towers in Elden Ring

There's six Divine Towers in Elden Ring you can get into, each one accessed in a different way from a different point in the game, so there's no broad approach you can take. However, we've gone through them all individually below, likely in the order you'll need to get in, or be able to access them. Just scroll down to whichever one is giving you trouble and we'll show you how to break in!

How to get into the Divine Tower of Limgrave

Elden Ring divine tower limgrave

The first Tower you'll likely need to get into after beating Godrick, you can reach this one by going through the deadly main gate of Stormveil and sprinting North up the main road, then turning right (East) through the enclosed shrine shown above with the Lion Guardian next to it. Use the Site of Grace ahead to reset your pursuers, then follow the bridge East-by-Northeast, avoiding the giant Golems' arrows and attacks along the way. At the end will be a teleportation portal that'll bring you to the door of the Divine Tower of Limgrave - simply use the doors to get inside and take the elevator to the top.

How to get into the Divine Tower of Caelid

Elden Ring divine tower locations

Situated at Caelid's Northern coastline, the Divine Tower here needs to be accessed with Parkour. Approach from the Southern side and ride or run up the giant roots alongside it, then jump across to the ledges and scale the building using the ladders and careful platforming - and be careful about the knights along the way! Eventually you'll find the Divine Tower of Caelid: Center Site of Grace on a balcony. Use it, then take the West path around to a door with the central elevator beyond, which'll bring you up to the top for Radahn's Rune. You can also carefully descend to the tower basement where you’ll find a boss fight, so good luck!

How to get into the Divine Tower of Liurnia

Elden Ring divine tower locations

This one proves a sticking point for a lot of people, and we can't blame them. Connected to the Carian Study Hall via a bridge, this actually requires you to get quite far through the Ranni the Witch quest. While you can wander in and explore at any point, you have to complete Ranni's questline at least partway to reach the top and restore the Great Rune.

We've put a guide on how to do that in our Elden Ring Ranni questline and secret ending - once you reach the fifth part of that quest, you'll be able to use a special item to flip the Carian Study Hall and access the bridge, though you'll have to watch out for a nightmarish hostile NPC and blob monster along the way. We recommend killing Preceptor Miriam (as horrible as she is, it's easier in the long run), but just run around the giant Godskin Noble on the bridge if you don't feel ready to fight him.

Of course, once you're up there you won't get to restore any Great Rune, as the only Rune in the area is one you get for killing Rennala, and it comes pre-restored and ready to go. Instead, this serves as another point of Ranni's questline. So don't worry about getting to the top if you're not bothered about the Princesses' quest.

How to get into the Divine Tower of West Altus

Elden Ring divine tower locations

The Sealed Tunnel is one of the Elden Ring Bell Bearing locations , which can let you buy all manner of useful items - including Smithing Stones! Check our guide to find them all.

One of the easier Towers, the West Altus Divine Tower is found by going into the moat around the capital of Leyndell and accessing the Sealed Tunnel mini-dungeon at its Southernmost point (the entrance to which you can see below). The Sealed Tunnel is practically a straight line, made of up illusory walls you can hack through.

However, there is a boss at the end called the Onyx Lord, one that's fairly weak to weapon attacks (a vulnerability melee fighters can make use of). Once you've beaten him, you can access the outside door of the Divine Tower of West Altus - though if you haven't beaten Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy yet, you'll get a message stating that it's "tightly locked shut". Once he's dead, you can open the doors and simply step on the elevator ahead to reach the top.

How to get into the Divine Tower of East Altus

Elden Ring divine tower locations

On the opposite side of Leyndell is a tower that pulls double-duty, able to restore both Morgott's and Mohg's runes. Once you've beaten Morgott and accessed the path East out of the city towards the Mountaintops, rather than taking the elevator at the end, take the path right (going Southeast), along the giant bridge. Be warned, you'll get ambushed by two monstrous ogres in a boss fight called the Fell Twins, who manifest a void around all three of you and are pretty resistant to Holy damage. Try and fight them one at a time (summons will help here), and use bleed or scarlet rot if you have it, as they're weak to that.

Once the Twins are dead, it's a straight line to the Tower doors and the elevator beyond that. Remember to trigger the Site of Grace inside, as you'll need to come here both after killing Morgott and Mohg.

How to get into the Isolated Divine Tower

Elden Ring divine tower locations

This wildcard tower is literally sticking out of the sea, though thankfully you won't have to master sailing to reach it and restore Malenia's Great Rune. This one's a little tougher to get to, as you need to reach the teleportation portal in Leyndell's Divine Bridge, done either by taking the elevator up from the city's own copy of the Roundtable Hold on the Southwest side, or by opening the trapped chest in the Tower of Return on the Weeping Peninsula (Southeast of the Western Peninsula's Walking Mausoleum).

Either way, once you're there they'll be a giant stone Golem like those on the bridge to Limgrave Tower, and on his left side, a portal. Trigger it and you'll be sent all the way to the Isolated Divine Tower, and then you just need to head up the stairs to the top. Keep in mind that this portal only becomes active either after beating Malenia - though you have no reason to go to the Isolated Divine Tower until you've beaten Malenia, so it all works out.

Elden Ring great runes rune arc farming

Divine Towers in Elden Ring are used to restore Great Runes (with the exception of Liurnia), special items gained by killing major bosses that won't be usable until you bring them to their corresponding Tower. As mentioned, each tower is used for a specific Great Rune and can't be used to restore any other one. We've explained more about these runes and how they're used in our Elden Ring Great Runes and Rune Arc farming guide, which will show you their strengths and their best uses, as well as how to activate them as much as possible.

How to access the Divine Tower of East Atlus – Where to activate Morgott’s Great Rune

Image of Jon Yelenic

By defeating shardbearers in Elden Ring, you’ll obtain Great Runes — special Runes that bestow a variety of bonuses when equipped to your character. However, you have to activate each Great Rune at a specific Divine Tower first. Upon beating Morgott, the Omen King , you’ll earn Morgott’s Great Rune, which can only be activated after climbing the Divine Tower of East Atlus.

You can get to this tower by taking the east exit out of Leyndell, Royal Capital. Travel through the Capital Outskirts until you get to a tower, which holds a lift leading to the Forbidden Lands. Instead of taking the lift down, take the bridge southeast to the Divine Tower.

As you cross the bridge, the sky will turn dark, and you’ll soon end up in a pitch-black arena fighting against a duo of bosses: The Fell Twins.

Thankfully, these bosses are slow, and fairly easy to handle. This is one of the more relaxed two-on-one boss fights you’ll run into. In our experience, the one with the axe charged us first, and we were able to defeat them before the second twin even started to attack. Heavy attacks can stun the axe-wielder quite easily, opening them up for a critical hit. The boss’ axe strikes can easily be rolled through without taking any damage.

The sword-wielding twin’s melee attacks can be dodged in a similar manner, but this one also has some magic attacks. It will periodically spit magic towards you, which you can avoid by rolling to the side. After defeating them, you’ll be on the other side of the bridge, with the Divine Tower of East Atlus in front of you.

Go through the double doors leading into the tower and head up the elevator. Take another set of stairs up and you’ll arrive at the top of the tower. Interact with the two fingers on the roof to activate Morgott’s Great Rune. You can now equip the Great Rune at any Site of Grace. Morgott’s Great Rune increases your HP by a large amount when active.
