I’ve seen Rome so many times, that I knew I didn’t want to just see the regular tourist sites for my next tour – I wanted to see the hidden gems that only locals know about!

The Rome Golf Cart Tour, Best Activity in Rome definitely fulfilled that, taking us through the backstreets and many lesser-known sites that were perhaps even more exciting than the big ones.

As this is a completely private tour, however, you get full control of the itinerary beforehand, so you get to choose which landmarks or areas you see.

There is a more affordable option that is not the private tour, in which you still partake in a small group but don’t get to plan the itinerary.

The only other difference between the two is that with the private tour option, they will come pick you right up from your hotel instead of using a meetup point in central Rome.

Our guide/driver was a wonderful human being, filled with all kinds of information and did a great job safely navigating us around to some of the coolest spots in Rome.

One of my favorite stops was at the Spanish Steps, which sit between the Piazza di Spagna and Piazza Trinita dei Monti, along with the impressive church at the top, overlooking it all.

Palatine Hill was also really cool to see and learn about, and our guide did a great job explaining the ancient parts and how it was essentially the beginning of all the Roman Empire.

So much knowledge shared, such a different perspective on Rome – I’d definitely recommend this one to anyone who really wants to learn.

Experience Appian Way’s Iconic Sights

A must-see along the Appian Way is the remarkable Domine Quo Vadis Church. This modest yet historically significant church is famed for the legendary encounter between Saint Peter and Jesus. According to Christian tradition, it was here that Peter, fleeing persecution in Rome, met the risen Christ and asked Him, "Domine, quo vadis?" (Lord, where are you going?). Today, you can witness the stone with the alleged imprints of Christ’s feet, a sight that has inspired pilgrims and travelers for centuries.

Further along the Appian Way, you'll discover the grandeur of the Villa and Circus of Emperor Maxentius. This site was once the heart of a magnificent complex, including a luxurious villa and a massive circus, built by the emperor in the early 4th century. Although the circus was never used to its full potential, its sheer size and layout are still evident today.

Nearby, the perplexing Tomb of Metella stands tall, a mausoleum for Cecilia Metella, whose family was intertwined with the highest echelons of Roman society. After a quick introduction to the city and each other, you will jump in your golf cart, buckle up and set off on your landmark-packed tour. About our Semi-Private tours

All LivTours Semi-Private Group Tours are limited to 6 guests per tour guide. Our commitment to maintaining our uniquely tiny group sizes can sometimes be a little tricky, mathematically speaking. For example, we want to ensure that traveling families and friends can tour together so on rare occasions we may add one or two guests in order to not split groups. On that same note, you may also find yourself on tour with less than six people! We thank you for your understanding and flexibility .

Wonderful introduction to Rome

Rome was made special by this tour with Patrizio. It was our a good intro to the best places to see in Rome as it was our first full day in the city. He even brought us to places we wouldn’t have thought of doing on our own, like the Garden of Oranges, the view was magnificent! Patrizio made sure we got nice photos knowing my husband had with him a big slr camera. He was very understanding and so hopeful. His perfect English coupled with his in-depth knowledge of Rome being a local is much appreciated.

Really worthwhile

So far we’ve taken two tours, golf cart tour with Simone, and the Vatican tour with Tania. In both cases we were really impressed with their energy, knowledge, and friendliness. I can’t express to you how much we’ve enjoyed the tours and I hope that we cross paths with them again in the future! We are really looking forward to our remaining tours and might book a few more for our journey ahead. Thanks again to Tania and Simone, they really made our journey worthwhile.

So much fun

We so enjoyed our golf cart tour with Marta. She was so knowledgeable and personable and we hated to see the evening come to an end. Highlight of our trip

We had a wonderful golf cart tour with Paul. He is very knowledgeable and a wonderful storyteller, weaving the historical and cultural backgrounds of the sites we visited, such as Piazza Navona and four rivers fountain, the meaning of the statues and Bernini’s hidden messages, and how to drink from a “Nasoni” like a proper Roman!! It was a beautiful evening and we caught a glorious sunset near the Pincio Park. This was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.
