A large, unremarkable Beefeater steakhouse opposite Kenton station with a separate bar area. Mainly oriented towards the restaurant and reasonably priced accommodation close to rail connections for central London. When opened in 1933 claimed to be the largest public house in Middlesex. Serves breakfast 6.30am-10.30am (30 minutes later at weekends). Real ale not usually available.

“travellers rest kenton London” Review of Travellers Rest Beefeater

We are a group of three people sometimes up to 7 - we meet at your restaurant a couple of times a year- tonight 11 Dec - we met for our usual Christmas get together - we are all pensioners - the waiter was very impatient - we just got a feeling that we were just barely tolerated - however - being pleasant old ladies - we still gave a tip!! We were told that the restuaranat was due to close - we retired to the bar where we purchased 2 glasses of wine and a beer - after 5 minutes,we were advised that we had to leave as the bar was closing! both the waitress and the bar/restaurant manager refused to give their names and were really quite rude - we will never again visit your restaurant and will advise others of our findings. Perhaps your group has a problem with pensioners!! We did spend £80 on our meal plus drinks. If I do not have a response to this e-mail - I will take it as far as is possible!!!

Stayed at hotel next door, on the Friday night went for a drink only and the service was very slow. Saturday night got served quickly as the bar was quiet. Waited an hour for a table to be free in the restaurant. There were plenty of empty tables in the bar but the bar staff were not taking any orders as the kitchen too busy. My husband's fish and chips o.k. I ordered half kitchen and got a small leg and a wing - not half achicken in my opinion, and not that good, could not taste the sweet chilly sauce as ordered. The waiter was very friendly and helpful but we did hear the poor man apologising to other customers also not happy with the food.

Excellent food, perfect service. very kind waiters, lovely music, good prices and nice place. Thank YOU!!! will be back!!!

We stayed at Premier Inn 22nd to 23rd Nov 14. We had and evening meal in here on the 22nd. It was almost empty but then we were early. One young waiter and one more mature waitress could not have been more helpful. I don't know their names. We were served fast and have no issues. As a minor critique, the place to be honest, is looking a tad tired and I dare not think what we would see if the main lights were on, but as mentioned all was fine for us. Now Breakfast 23rd : It is served until 11am. We arrived in plenty of time at about 10-10.15 ish. Our table was clean and tidy. The waiter I think was the same as the previous evening, a young lad who was very enthusiastic. Food was great. Plenty of it was on offer. Now the reason I have not given full stars is thus: We had to ask for small spoons for the tea, yoghurts had run out, milk container was empty. One lady who popped out with a large leaking jug of milk and a this is beneath me look on her face. She topped up the milk container spilling milk all over the place.. I asked her for some small spoons and she said, as she walked away "they aint washed any up yet" As she walked away a huge line of milk flowing from the jug followed behind her all over the carpet. She was oblivious to this. Shall I use my finger to stir the tea Mr Beefeater? The helpful young man came along and said I will get you a spoon and he did pronto, along with some yoghurts. Can't fault the guy. One thing surprised me when he did say as they were about to stop serving at 11am they may have run out of yoghurts. If I am paying full price for a meal I expect a full product range up to the minute of closure. Sorry but either that Mr Beefeater or you give me a partial refund for not being able to supply what's on the menu if full. That said I would visit again if in the area The young man waiter is a credit to beefeater and probably paid poxy minimum wage so Beefeater give him a pay rise and let him teach the mike lady how to serve the customers and make the effort. All staff were very good other than those comments.

Traveller’s Rest offers 29 cottages in total, spread over a vast area. Many of these cottages are in our game camp where free roaming antelope like eland, springbuck and red hartebees are often seen.

The cottages are all delightful in their earthy simplicity and surprising in their homely, well-equipped comfort with en-suite bedrooms. All the cottages have fireplaces for cold winter evenings and electric fans for hot weather.  All the kitchens are equipped with cutlery and crockery, fridges, two plate stoves, kettles and microwaves. Bed linen and towels are provided and an outdoor braai area (barbeque) completes the picture. Fire wood can be bought at the Traveller’s Rest farm stall.

A shared swimming pool near the river and the restaurant brings relief after a hot day.

Please note, at Traveller’s Rest we are animal lovers, but unfortunately we are not pet friendly.

“Beefeater, Kenton” Review of Travellers Rest Beefeater

Food arrived much quicker than usual, within 30 minutes of ordering. Waitress was amazing as always and didn’t stop. Very attentive. Food was of a really high standard. Very Tartary and fresh.

Hotel was clean parking cheap, that's where the good points ended, wouldn't stay again. The food of the evening wasn't great and the breakfast was like being in the que in strange ways, over an hours wait due to no staff apparently on a very busy weekend.

Sunday lunch service from Donna was amazing as always, very chatty and friendly. Food was yummy yummy

Stayed at the premier inn on the 10th may for a business trip and booked the Meal deal for the restaurant next door. The restaurant itself is lovely and clean and the staff are very pleasant. However, the ladies toilets had an awful stench and smelt like they needed a good clean!! I chose the cob salad with salmon which was gorgeous and then had the banoffee waffle dessert which was not what I expected but still lovely. Unfortunately for me it was slightly spoiled by the waiter who I believe is the manager bringing the card machine over to me asking me to pay for my drink whilst I was half way through eating my dessert, so I had to stop eating, get my card out and pay for my drink!! This is NOT good whilst a customer is still eating, in fact I found it quite rude and a manager certainly should know better!! Had I not had a mouthful of food I would certainly have said something!! The breakfast the following morning was lovely but a little cold. For my evening meal I waited over 5 minutes to be seated, nobody came to see if anyone was waiting and the same the following morning for breakfast. Hopefully this was just a little off period as have eaten here quite a few times previously when staying at the premier inn on business and always had a pleasant experience all round.

Served by Slobhan, Excellent customer service skill. Ordered franch fries and drinks please add peri peri seasoning on your manu.

The site is located in Kenton within the London Borough of Harrow, in a predominantly residential area approximately nine miles north west of central London and within London Fare Zone 4.

The surrounding area is predominantly residential in character and there are a wide range of local retailers located on Kenton Road.

Immediately to the south of the site is the Kenton Bridge Medical Centre and a large Sainsbury’s Superstore.

The site also has convenient access to the Harrow Campus of The University of Westminster and Northwick Park Hospital which are both located 0.5 miles to the south west.

The surrounding area provides a good level of primary and secondary schools and public open space, including Kenton Recreation Ground and Northwick Park both of which are within a short walk. Harrow town centre, one mile to the west, is the closest major commercial hub and has a wide range of retail, leisure and business facilities.

The site extends approximately 1.73 acres (0.71 hectares), and is broadly rectangular in shape, bounded by Carlton Avenue to the north east, Kenton Road (A4006) to the south east, and railway lines along the south west boundary.

The site lies within the jurisdiction of the London Borough of Harrow and is within a defined Town Centre where a wide range of town centre related uses is seen as appropriate.

Hotel accommodation in this location is not protected by Local Plan or London Plan Policy. Therefore, the loss of the existing hotel would not be contrary to Policy. If required, there is potential for a restaurant or public house to be accommodated within any redevelopment proposals fronting Kenton Road. None of the existing buildings are listed, locally listed or lie within a Conservation Area.

There are trees on the site which are protected by a Tree Preservation Order. These are predominantly located along the site’s northern and western boundaries.

An architectural massing study has been produced by Axiom Architects setting out the potential density achievable on the site. The study includes residential amenity and a retained retail accommodation fronting Kenton Road. 3D modelling and detailed concept design drawings are available in the data room.

6 TRAVELLERS REST, KENTON ROAD, HARROW, LONDON HA3 8AL Redevelopment Scope

Given the excellent transport connections and local amenities, there is the potential to increase massing on the site presenting a significant redevelopment opportunity for a number of different uses.

Axiom Architects have produced a residential led scheme which seeks to increase the height and massing with a high proportion of dual and south facing aspects and retention of an active frontage to Kenton Road.

The indicative scheme extends to a maximum of eight storeys in height, with the following floor areas and unit mix:
